Voting Question: what career path is best for me?
At 40 I am making a caeer change but it is so hard to decide I have taken numerous career tests and they all come back to what I have done and burned out. my likes are travel, working by myself, My start time my dislikes are manual labor, being tied to the same spot all day everyday I am a restless person, I am likeable person.Office politics get on my nerves and the people are so fake. i can't do it anymore. In the manual labor field, people have no amition and try to one up everybody else and expect you to believe they slept with 10 girls the night before and smoked a pile of weed 3 feet high. You raise your hand to go to the restroom like a child. A buzzer rings when you stop and start work like robots. my history of employment includes- Air traffic controller (US Navy) after i got out I worked foundries and steel mills went to school for drafting all of these I did not like. Went back to school again for Computer science/technician did this for years working my way up the ranks doing field service repair to small to medium sized business networks. I moved on to Network Administrator to director of MIS. Career was going great I was the boss controlled 4 locations then September 11th happened the company I was at went out of business in the wake of this. A felony record of mine from years before for an assault popped only had probation never jail. This conviction never bothered me in the past, I had changed my ways and went to college in the mean time. Searching for employment I was turned down many times with my salary was to high I would never be happy at what they could give me, or the worst one my assault conviction. Seems I am blacklisted from working for anybody. So I decided to go get my CDL until things could change and I could support my family. I wrecked my semi and decided that wasnt the best career goal for me, so I decided to go back to information technology. no one was raising their hand to hire me so I started contracting and after about a year of this I found a good steady contract. I loved it!!! I did Field Service repair in Hospitals. The only downfall it was 24/7 work but I didnt mind I was paid extremely well. I got to travel some to take care of other territories for other workers. I did this job for a few years until the recession hit and my contract was cut. I went back to school again, this time for motorcycle repair. Year long school figured I could do it until the economy picked up. I didnt really like the motorcycle work and decided i would go back to IT again after graduation with an added skill of motorcycle repair so I could work on my own bike and maybe a few others for extra money. The day i graduated I had a heart attack, it was diagnosed as stress related so now I have to find something not hard work low stress and getting to travel some (field service fly somewhere fix a project fly home) preferrably a home office set my own schedule type of work. moreVoting Question: Air Force And College Advice? Gi Bill?
So here's my plan, I'm 18, I'm joining the Air Force and leaving for Boot camp soon. My overall plan is to major in Business. Main reasons for joining the Air Force are to serve my country, travel and get college paid for. I have a 4 year contract and I was wondering, I want to get my General Ed out of the way, while I'm in the Air Force, that way when i get out I can just finish my 2 years after the Air force at a university. I was thinking of applying to UofP (University of Phoenix) since they have online classes and I think It'd be easier to do college there while in the Air Force. I was wondering if anyone has experiences or knows how I can get my General Ed (60 units) while in the Air Force. Also, I heard that the Montgomery G.I Bill can sometimes be better than the Post 9/11, can someone tell me how so? What the differences are? moreResolved Question: Where should I go to have a vacation from my wife?
We have been married for 14 years and haven't gotten along in a long time. Two kids, then no sex ever again, you know the story... Well, I have been traveling a lot for business in recent years, and I came up with an idea. I'll tell my wife I am going on a trip... she will assume it's for business... but at work I will notify them for vacation. I figured out that I have enough air miles and hotel points to go just about anywhere in the world for free, for up to two weeks. Where should I go? How do you like my plan? Any other suggestions?btw, don't bother suggesting that I take her, or that we need a vacation together. I'm not falling for that crap where I need to be the one putting in yet more effort in order to get a return. I deserve better treatment. If she decides to be a friend around the house, day to day, then I'd be glad to take her along. But at the rate she's at, there is no way. I'll have a much better time alone. moreResolved Question: Discouraging coprophagous?
My guy is a 5y/o mutt that I've had for 4 years, he used to "play" with his poop throwing it up in the air in an attempt to get the other dogs to go after him, he didn't eat the poop. I solved this issue with canned pineapple. Since we moved to Denver, he discovered the joys of poopcicles and goose poop. As far as I know, goose poop can contain Giardia but I haven't found any other nasty bugs that it contains, does anyone know of any other specific harmful bacteria or parasites that Canadian Geese might harbor? Has anyone had any success in deterring compulsive eating of wild animal poop? Our entire 1 mile a day walk is coated in goose poop... My dogs eat Taste of the Wild, I do not think it is a lacking of nutrients since they eat a high quality food, it appears to be more of a game. I have a lifetime supply of Drontrol Plus, should I only administer it if he comes down with a case of Giardia or as a possible preventative before any diarrhea sets in. He has not had any ill effect since migration started and since he discover the pleasures of eating goose poop; I'm hoping to keep it that way... Please only answer if you have had experience with coprophagous or this medication, I would rather get no answers than 10 "ewwwwww" answers. I can ask my teachers at school but I know there are some knowledgeable people here and thought I'd give you all a shot too. :) Suggested categories: # Travel > United States > Boston # Yahoo! Products > Yahoo! Answers # Business & Finance > Taxes > General - Taxes # Travel > Austria > General - Austria # Dining Out > United States > Bostonthank you for the answers so far. As far as medicating my guy, it would be as a regular deworming; full treatment would only be after a fecal float and microscopic evaluation at school or through the vets/vet techs at work.I think I am going to try the whistle I keep on my key chain, in the past I used it for distance recalls and it worked good for breaking up foster fights back in the day... Everyone would freeze and run up to me giving a "hey, we were only playing" look, only one of my 2 (the goose poop eater) were around during the crackdown whistle days. lol I've heard of hot sauce and a few other things along those lines, works better in confined yards, unfortunately the areas I walk would need a fire hose to cover all the goose poops.singleworker: thanks, I didn't even think of lepto! I'm glad I started him on lepto vaccines 2 years ago... I was honestly thinking more along the lines of e-coli/samonilla because I had a foster come down with HGE secondary to an e-coli/samonilla/tapeworm infestation. It was a nightmare of shock, fluids, medications, hospitalization, transfusions. I don't have the same resources out here and this guy isn't covered under the rescue so I don't have the fat credit card number on file with a discounted rescue vet I talk to on a biweekly basis about my latest cases. I'm thinking because of all the illnesses my guy has been exposed to during my rescue/foster days, he's like me when I worked on the ambulance... a tank against those nasty bugs... but I would rather not play with fire and be proactive against any possibilities, my 2 guys get better health-care than me... lmao moreResolved Question: Does this make any sence ?! Then every American would be a Government employee and wages would be closer to equal among EVERYBODY..... Imagine.....ALL housing in America could be Government-operated, with Government laws regarding building safety and fire safety and safety of what times to use electricity and go to sleep and eat. All homes will have loudspeakers where US Government officials can communicate with every American household. This way there will be a lot of Government security. Jobs will be government-run, housing will be government-operated, food will be a Public Service of the Government, all cars will be issued by government (Form A451T) - "Voucher Form to Operate a Government-distributed Automobile." It will be illegal to buy cars outside the Government system. Free Healthcare. Free air travel Free groceries, everything free....illegal to fire an employee except by Government procedure for termination.... why can't we live like this in America? All Americans would be Government Employees, and the leader of all jobs would be the President and Speaker of the House.... and every afternoon there would be a speech made by Nancy Pelosi to encourage people to work their hardest.... saying "We are doing America's work for America!!!!! We are saving the Middle Class!!!!! We are reshaping America for the future....YES WE CAN" moreResolved Question: UNITED STATES AIR FORCE??
I'm a Junior in high school. Right now i want to one day major in Business/corporate finance. Investment banking, fund managing, or banking would be my biggest interest. The Unites States air force from what i hear not only pays for your education but it also supplies you with an excellent education along with the great experiences of serving your country and traveling the world (I have a friend who is stationed in Italy and he say's he LOVES it). My question is by joining the USAF when you finish your schooling (undergraduate degree) and your I believe 4 years of service are there many pathways open for you? Job wise will you be limited to the average joe salary making $40,000 a year or are there good oportunities graduating from the USAF in business? moreResolved Question: Hasn't the practice of "Globalization" always existed?
Back when there were Greek city-states they city-states carried on economic relations and trades with each other to a great extent. This was trade amongst the world as they knew it. Then the Roman Empire believed in always expanding resources and boundaries. Even when the roman Empire disintegrated travel, commerce, and communication flourished among groups and citizens. The Ancient Kingdom of Ghana and the Kingdom of Mali (fifth - thirteenth centuries) traded gold and salt with their Arab neighbors. In the late Middle Ages Europe greatly expanded commercial activity into larger geographic areas as more trade routes became available. The desire to expand economic intercourse has always existed, and later became even more of a reality as safe ocean travel was possible. So I believe the world has always been on the move towards Globalization, and practiced it to the best of their ability at any given time. If this is true, then why are modern day presidents pushing towards Globalization? With merchant ships and air travel I think it was made a true reality, and the internet just made it easier... so what is it we need to do to accomplish Globalization if we already do business on a world scale? moreResolved Question: hows it like in first class?
ive always wanted to air travel in first class. ive only seen pictures, simulations (fsx) and other things ive experienced business class (airline:Lufthansa), but i no dat first is better. so can u tell me ur experience in first class ps have u ever been in da new first class dat was installed, idk wen, but heres a picture: http://elitechoice.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/united-airlines-first-class-suite1.jpg http://onearthtravel.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/united-airlines-first-class-suite2.jpg moreResolved Question: Texas. Why does everyone think it is the worst state in the U.S.?
Here's an example of what America thinks: 1. Texans. Socially retarded acts of bravado. Lack of self awareness. Isolationistic in thought. Kind of like someone who was raised under a rock, but the rock was big, so they boast about how big the rock was. There's more, but, man, it's so sad - and they don't even know it! 2. Texas politics. I am a conservative who votes republican. Texans are rednecks who vote republican. should I buy an "I'm with stupid" T-shirt? 3. Tx is a Mexican border state. Complete with roads traveled by drug cartels feeding the increasing violent crime rate, drug use, and ever expanding prison population in Tx. That isn't nice and I don't have this problem in my state. 4. Is EVERYONE in Tx chewing tobacco?? 5. Leading state for hate groups. There are more known hate groups in tx then any other state. They all hate different groups for different reasons. When you get right down to it, no one is safe in tx - not even texans. Testament to tx long tradition of nice, down to earth, clan members and level-headed cult fanatics. 6. There are Two seasons in Tx, hot and hotter. There is a third if you count the hurricane season. A fourth if you count squirrel season. 7. Texas' branding of Tex-mex. Uh, we all know it's just Mexican. Maybe Kansas should capitalize on Cantonese food and call it Kan-Can. It's catchier, and doesn't sound like a gas station when you say it. 8. Over industrialization of undesirable industries. Yes, when you visit tx, you get the full impact of what a cesspool they've made out of their state with factories, oil refineries, and chemical plants. Don't get me wrong, it is good somebody is manufacturing this stuff out there, but, man, you've got to be six flags short of a theme park to live amongst the stench-filled, chemical run-off, heat-fest that is tx. 9. Texas as a state ranks in the top 5 of all states for all major pollutants. Go figure. The EPA says you can't breathe the air for fear of carcinogens, can't drink the water for fear of toxins, can't eat the seafood for fear of mercury poisoning, and the Taiwanese plants spill high levels of run-off into the neighborhoods. That isn't good either! 10. "Clampet" stereotypes which aren't all together untrue. I've never seen any other collective bunch unwittingly living up to negative stereotypes. Perhaps some t-shirts can be air dropped to them. You know, t-shirts that say something like, "thank god i struck oil, cuz my double-wide needs a fixin" 11. Texan's general confusion between pride and reason. there is a healthy pride, and then there is a texan pride. actually, a texan is proud of his state like a branch davidian is proud of his cool-aid. 12. "DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS". Why would I need to mess with Texas when it's already messed up? What's wrong with the old standby: Yeeeeeeehaw!!!!..and other inane slogans that demonstrate an inability to articulate one's self. 13. Corrupt institutions of business. Enron was a great. But, no one can beat the oil companies for blood money, environmental destruction, greed, and corruption. a texan would tell you that corruption only exists in zip codes outside their magical state. is this true? 14. Cults and fundamentalists. Kind of self explanatory. Apparently, tx is the perfect place for those who like to organize and be merry while preying on kids. Gotta love tx. 15. Backwards thinking. State first? Country second, or is there something between state and country like, i don't know, socks or peanut butter? You gotta love state first mentality. If the country is attacked, would tx try to side with mexico just to save their own state? Kind of like, if the house was burning, you'd only save your favorite bathroom. Lots of reasoning there. wait a minute! i'm going to start a new one. it's called home owners association first! Hey tx, do you shoot people in the back too? Buncha anti-american secessionist quitters! just kidding, only 20% of you are the American Taliban. 16. Worst humidity and dew point. Yes it is true. Houston/bay area is tied with annual averages for the worst humidity and dew point in the united states per NOAA. In a nutshell, it's like a sauna. a constant sauna for 7 months out of the year. so is hell. 17. Hurricanes. you got it. more of my tax dollars go to natural disasters like hurricanes in tx. nothing like every hurricane season fearing the wrath of god upon your family and home. 18. Tornadoes. this must have to do with the fact that tx leads the nation in the amount of trailor homes as a percentage of all homes. the good thing is, tx is flat and has nothing around for 100's of miles. so, not many people should get hurt except those who ask for it. you know, texans. 19. Trailer trash. "T" stands for trailor trash, tornadoes, truck stops, terrible, tacky, terrorist, taliban, travesty, and one more...uh...dang, i forgot. 20. Prison over population. tx just can't kill 'em fast moreResolved Question: Isn't Global warming a joke?
I remember when industries could dump all the toxins they wanted into the river. The economy flourished when businesses could pollute as much as they wanted to. So what if the air smells like butt. Who cares if all the water is orange, and smells like an egg fart. I remember when the rich industry owners where not only allowed to pollute all they wanted; but they could even build damns out of trash for recreation and if the damn broke, and took countless lives it was not really that big of a deal, because these are the people creating jobs. Why are people so against this global warming scare? Pollution is good for the economy, and eventually we will need to perfect space travel to find another planet to do this to all over again. http://www.nps.gov/jofl/index.htm moreResolved Question: In Air travel what is the difference between First Class and Business class?

When we moved to Spain from UK our dogs flew with us with the pet passport scheme , because we weren't expecting to move from Spain we never kept their passports up to date .But we have found a business in Tenerife and would like to move quickly . The problem is we don't want to put the dogs in quarantine ,so it would mean one of us staying in Spain for approximately 6 months while waiting for the anti-rabbis jabs to be completed. My question is, does anyone know if this is correct ,my friend said as we are going from Spain to Tenerife the waiting time is only 21 days as Tenerife is a part of Spain. I cant find this on the Defra site ,it mainly refers to UK entry,so does anyone know if this is true. Thanks in advance moreResolved Question: Could Janet Napolitano Do A Better Job?
Is the Full-Body Scanner too Much for our Morality? A mother just told the TSA that she didn't want them to see her body or her children's bodies with the full body (backscatter) scanner. If I were in charge of the Department of Homeland Security, I would say that lady was "Too silly to fly" and I would put her on the no-fly list. I would send her a letter explaining that Far be it from DHS to create any personal embarassment for her or her children, so she was going to be a non-flyer in USA. If she wanted to become a flight qualified citizen again DHS would need an affidavit signed by her, and her husband if any, stating that she puts the security of herself, her children, and her fellow travellers above any consideration of personal embarassment. So she wants to be subjected to the full body scanner and she wants her children to be as well if that's what the TSA screeners say is necessary on any particular occasion. A woman wants to be a silly cow and mess with DHS -- OK very beautiful DHS should mess with her. Can cows fly? It's up to her. Is our morality so twisted and so entrenched that we would suppress the use of the full body scanner to accomodate the whims of such persons as this mother? I do have a small problem with the device if it's used on frequent business travellers, who fly two or three times per week. My problem has to do with radiological health issues. I think the "Trusted Traveller Program" would solve my problem. That program may or may not still be in existence. It's not as politically correct as the extremists might wish for, since it puts some trust on persons born and raised in America, who backgrounds have been thoroughly investigated, and whose travel pattern is in no way suspicious. The ACLU's position is that all persons should always get identical treatment. That way the system can be made so expensive and so cumbersome that Americans will reject it -- which is what the civil liberties extremists want. I say that trusted travellers cleared by DHS can skip the detailed search and the full body scan if the frequency of such procedures could affect their health --- if they would go over 2 rems per year. Profiling isn't enough, and physical searches are not enough, and attentive air crews are not enough, and intelligence is not enough. You've got to have all of them -- every layer -- you have to know exactly who you are dealing with, and exactly what they have on them when they board the aircraft. You have to control their onboard conduct. You need many layers of 100% competent security. You need to make it a practical impossibility for any terrorist to get through all the layers. You can't have a system in which everything depends on the detonator failing to work. And you can't let silly cows get in the way of national security. I'm planning a trip out to Austin, TX for a Music Conference that goes from March 15th to March 21st. I'm planning to arrive there on March 14th & plan to leave (or get back here to NYC) on March 21st (I'm not planning to go to the last event of the conference.). I've checked Priceline, Travelocity, etc. Most of them have expensive prices like $689 round trip on either Priceline or Travelocity (I don't remember which one.). Although, when I went to Kayak.com I saw $220 Airfare & couldn't believe what I was seeing (I chose Hotwire & some other Low Fare engine to compare each other to that Kayak.com has you do.). Now, I'm assuming the Air Fare is Actually $440 WITHOUT the Hotel?? Right? I mean, last yr. I went to Nashville (late July) & I paid $467 from Orbitz.com, but wasn't aware that even though I was checking under the Lowest Fares under the "Flight & Hotel" Category I thought $467 INCLUDED the Hotel Stay (Duhhh...etc.). Only to learn that when I got to Nashville I found out that the Hotel was SEPARATE from the Air Fare. SO...etc.: 1) When is the Best time to purchase these Air Fare (& Hotel) Tickets for my March trip (now, Jan., Feb. or 1st week of March) for a LOW - CHEAP PRICE (Under $500)? 2) What IS a Travel Package - How does this work? OR 3) What does a "Flight & Hotel" Category do for you when it seems like I was paying SEPARATELY (Hotel & Air Fare)? *****I'm not looking to Sight See. Is it just me or has obama put way to many miles on air force one this year. With the economy in the tank and the senate trying to pass a lame health care bill, obama seems to be in the air more than he is in the white house. The people voted him in the presidency to help the US not take a four year vacation around the world. Before you start throwing stones, I'm a democrat who thinks he's doing a poor job of running this country. What do you think about obama jetting all over the world instead of taking care of business at home.Buldog, the answer to your question is we will, it'll be coming out of next weeks paycheck as if it weren't small enough already.Seriously what does doprah have to do with our government that he can fly to her party, maybe it,s the fried chicken.peace and love,I am a dem and voted strongly against both terms of being bush wacked, but I also voted against obama because he was unfit to be president. Why is it every time someone says something that is not praise for obama they are labeled a racist or a republican or both.Spike, what does bushs' ranch and his lack of animals have to do with my question.why is it when someone says something about obama the dems have to try to deliver a put down against bush, everyone knows bush was a flaming turd already, but if obama keeps up his traveling pace he will out travel every other president to date. moreResolved Question: Is the Army a good choice to be an Officer in?
Hello everyone. I just have a few questions to ask regarding military branches, life, etc. First off, I am soon to be a college graduate and will have a bachelors degree in business administration and I am considering joining the military (not sure which branch I would like to join but have looked deeper into the army than most other branches). I think it makes more sense to use my degree and try to join as an officer. Not sure what job I would like to do, but would like to travel. How are the benefits, housing, etc? I am a little concerned to join the army since a good friend of mine died in the army 2 years ago. Not sure if the Navy is for me since being on a boat for long periods of time does not appeal to me. Not sure about Air force and Marines. If anyone can give me some pointers and possibly recommend a few good jobs as an officer that would be appreciated. I know the question is a little vague but I'm just a bit confused. Thanks for your help.My GPA is a 3.3 overall. Thanks for the great advice and quick responses. Just to clarify, you go where the Army puts you and you don't get to pick like 3 jobs and get guaranteed one of them? If you sign up to be an officer, go through basic training but do not make it through OCS... will they make you serve as enlisted? Thanks again everyone moreResolved Question: what jobs let you fly for their business - dont care about pay or time spent in location?

Airline travel class People travel different places around the globe every year by air and in different reservation class. When passengers start to plan their journey they have to buy airline tickets, but when passengers are booking their airline tickets the agents never explain the difference. So it is very important to understand different class of travel through air in order to take the advantage. There are three different class of reservation which are Economy class, Business class and First class. First of all, Economy class which is also called as coach class. The fares are cheaper but have more restrictions. The seats are usually like train seats, sometime it comes with fold out tray for food or with music player. The quality of the food varies depending on various factors. Though it offers the cheapest fares and comes with much more restrictions still it is very popular among middle class people who don’t have more money to spend. Further more, Business class also known as executive class or upper class. Business class is a high quality second tier travel class. Mostly people from big corporations prefer travelling through this class. The seats are much bigger and can recline up to 160 degree. There is an inbuilt LCD TV for movies and sometime it comes with an internet connection. The food is of high quality and sometime passengers can order their preferred meal. Business class doesn’t have restrictions like economy class. If a passenger decides to cancel their journey they can get the whole amount back. This class of travel is mostly famous and is also getting popular in leisure travel. Finally, First class is a luxury travel class which is much better then business class. Few of the airlines offer this class of travel because of limited amount of seats located in front of the aircraft. The seats are reclining with more leg room. Sometime passengers have their own cabin with fully furnished workstations and TV for entertainment. The food is same as business class but it comes with other goodies like travelling kit, shaving kit, and neck pillow or blanket. First class passengers get to board the aircraft before business or economy class passengers and when the journey is completed they get limousine car ride to their destination. First class travel is mostly preferred by politicians, sportsman and actors who can afford to spend $10,000 on a ticket. People are traveling more then every before around the globe in different class. So next times when you travel make sure you check class of travel airline has to offer. This will help you to decide between different class of travel and it will save you time and money moreResolved Question: Could please answer these problem solving on applications on linear equations?

THIS IS A BIT LONG READ IF YOU HAVE TIME: Do you think that we'd be able to get a business class seat if we don't buy it way ahead of time but just try to upgrade exactly 24 hours online (Air Tran's rule) before the flight takes off. This is my problem. We received two free tickets for a trip and we have to fly air tran, but my husband is sort of a bigger guy, (think football player type) and we need a bigger seat for him. I hate for him to have to squeeze into those tiny air tran coach seats. Anyway I've seen Business class on Air tran and that would work fine and we could enjoy a trip to Vegas then. But the tickets are only good for coach and then the only thing we can do is buy the upgrade to Business class for about $99 each way which we can afford. (NOTE: But we can't afford an entire new ticket in Business class since that's 1,000 bucks and they won't let us use our coach ticket towards the more expensive Business class ticket.) Anyway the people on the 800 line said the only way to do it is to wait till 24 hours before the flights to try to get a 99 dollar ugrade to Business class online but it is "first come first serve" and if people pre-paid for the expensive Business class seats at $1,000 the 12 seats could be sold out totally I guess too, sooooo,,,, now I'm worried we'll have this huge trip planned , hotels etc.,and at the last day before have to cancel it and lose my free tickets since my husband might not fit in the little seats and they might force us to pay for an entire last minute extra seat for my husband which we couldn't really afford at $500 coach either, and Business class would be sold out. So my real question is: how likely do you think a flight from Milwaukee to Vegas or Atlanta to Vegas (or Vegas to Atlanta, or Vegas to Milwaukee back again) would be sold out PRIOR to the 24 hour restriction? The agents said there's no way to really know, but that usually business class people know it's cheaper to just wait to the 24 hours before and then do it online. What do you think from all your business traveling. Thanks if you know....ALSO is there a time of week or a certain month that a flight most likely wouldn't be full compared to other times or months to vegas? here's a few THE FACT IS................. PALIN: Says she made frugality a point when traveling on state business as Alaska governor, asking "only" for reasonably priced rooms and not "often" going for the "high-end, robe-and-slippers" hotels. THE FACTS: Although travel records indicate she usually opted for less-pricey hotels while governor, Palin and daughter Bristol stayed five days and four nights at the $707.29-per-night Essex House luxury hotel (robes and slippers come standard) overlooking New York City's Central Park for a five-hour women's leadership conference in October 2007. With air fare, the cost to Alaska was well over $3,000. Event organizers said Palin asked if she could bring her daughter. The governor billed her state more than $20,000 for her children's travel, including to events where they had not been invited, and in some cases later amended expense reports to specify that they had been on official business. ___ PALIN: Boasts that she ran her campaign for governor on small donations, mostly from first-time givers, and turned back large checks from big donors if her campaign perceived a conflict of interest. THE FACTS: Of the roughly $1.3 million she raised for her primary and general election campaigns for governor, more than half came from people and political action committees giving at least $500, according to an AP analysis of her campaign finance reports. The maximum that individual donors could give was $1,000; $2,000 for a PAC. Of the rest, about $76,000 came from Republican Party committees. She accepted $1,000 each from a state senator and his wife in the weeks after the two Republican lawmakers' offices were raided by the FBI as part of an investigation into a powerful Alaska oilfield services company. After AP reported those donations during the presidential campaign, she said she would give a comparative sum to charity after the general election in 2010, a date set by state election laws. ___ PALIN: Rails against taxpayer-financed bailouts, which she attributes to Obama. She recounts telling daughter Bristol that to succeed in business, "you'll have to be brave enough to fail." THE FACTS: Palin is blurring the lines between Obama's stimulus plan — a $787 billion package of tax cuts, state aid, social programs and government contracts — and the federal bailout that Republican presidential candidate John McCain voted for and President George W. Bush signed. Palin's views on bailouts appeared to evolve as McCain's vice presidential running mate. In September 2008, she said "taxpayers cannot be looked to as the bailout, as the solution, to the problems on Wall Street." A week later, she said "ultimately what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy." During the vice presidential debate in October, Palin praised McCain for being "instrumental in bringing folks together" to pass the $700 billion bailout. After that, she said "it is a time of crisis and government did have to step in." ___ PALIN: Says Ronald Reagan faced an even worse recession than the one that appears to be ending now, and "showed us how to get out of one. If you want real job growth, cut capital gains taxes and slay the death tax once and for all." THE FACTS: The estate tax, which some call the death tax, was not repealed under Reagan and capital gains taxes are lower now than when Reagan was president. Economists overwhelmingly say the current recession is far worse. The recession Reagan faced lasted for 16 months; this one is in its 23rd month. The recession of the early 1980s did not have a financial meltdown. Unemployment peaked at 10.8 percent, worse than the October 2009 high of 10.2 percent, but the jobless rate is still expected to climb. ___ PALIN: She says her team overseeing the development of a natural gas pipeline set up an open, competitive bidding process that allowed any company to compete for the right to build a 1,715-mile pipeline to bring natural gas from Alaska to the Lower 48. THE FACTS: Palin characterized the pipeline deal the same way before an AP investigation found her team crafted terms that favored only a few independent pipeline companies and ultimately benefited a company with ties to her administration, TransCanada Corp. Despite promises and legal guidance not to talk directly with potential bidders during the process, Palin had meetings or phone calls with nearly every major candidate, including TransCanada. ___ PALIN: Criticizes an aide to her predecessor, Gov. Frank Murkowski, for a conflict of interest because the aide represented the state in negotiations over a gas pipeline and then left to work as moreResolved Question: What do you think of Sarah Palin lying repeatedly in her new book?
I have not read the book yet, however AP did some fact checking : PALIN: Says she made frugality a point when traveling on state business as Alaska governor, asking "only" for reasonably priced rooms and not "often" going for the "high-end, robe-and-slippers" hotels. If they had one, the seatbelt sign would probably stay brightly lit all the time at most corporate headquarters of major U.S. airline companies! The airline industry remains one of the most turbulent industries in the business world, even today. Deregulation in 1978 totally restructured and revamped the airline industry. Before the industry deregulated, the airlines were assigned routes and fares, and healthy profits for all competitors were practically guaranteed. But with deregulation came the fierce, free-for-all competition that a deregulated market was designed to foster. However, now, even after over eighteen years under deregulation, the “shake-out” period still seems to be plaguing the industry. Consumers, who because of the more competitive environment were supposed to benefit through lower prices and more air accessibility, find themselves frustrated with numerous hassles, delays, and waiting as they travel. Many complain that the airline companies don’t care anymore about their customers. For instance, when airline employees go on strike or engage in a labor slow-down, the consumers complain that they’re the ones to suffer. This situation has led to consumers having little faith and trust in the airlines. To achieve and keep customer satisfaction high, then, the airlines have to work doubly hard. Needless to say, the airlines haven’t exactly had a turbulence-free environment within which to operate their businesses. Competition within the deregulated industry is fierce. And that competition is coming not only from domestic airlines, but to an increasingly larger extent, from global ones as well. Employees want more pay and benefits even though costs have to be strictly controlled in order to stay competitive. Costs have to be watched carefully and even when the airlines do that, profit convenient travel times and locations, and hassle-free service. There’s even upstart new- typically low-cost and low-frill — airlines to deal with. It’s enough to make any sane manager fasten that seatbelt a little tighter! Question: Use Porter’s five-forces model to do a competitive analysis of the airline industry. moreResolved Question: Where should we move to?
Where would you like to live or retire in the US? The question becomes difficult to answer when family, friends and work are NOT part of the equation. Usually people relocate based on one of those three things. Most people want to live in an area with a low crime rate, great schools, a warm climate, affordable housing, plentiful jobs and good hospitals. Even so, not everyone will agree about the best place to live. Some people prefer mountains, some prefer the desert or maybe the ocean. We are still not sure where to go, even after going through the Forbes “Best Places to Live” list and other similar web sites. We are self employed and have a child with special needs. We are originally from Illinois but we have lived in Arizona for the past decade. We are looking for a change outside of these two states but we will likely travel back to Arizona in the winters if we will be living in a cold climate. Criteria We need to be within a 10 or 20 minute drive to a very good hospital. Must be within a 45 minute drive to a reputable children’s hospital. Must have excellent schools and a low crime rate. There must be fun things for kids nearby, like a big city zoo, parks and recreation. Fair weather with four seasons (or at least a little snow in the winter). Elevation must be less than 4,000 feet at all times (cannot travel above this altitude). We want to live in the country and we need a minimum of 7 acres for horses. We are looking for privacy, nice views and clean air. We like trees and green grass, not so much rocks, sand and cactus. Shouldn’t be too cold in the winter or too hot or humid in the summer. Cannot be further east than Ohio. Oregon, Washington state, Colorado, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Arkansas, Louisiana and Tennessee are all out of the question. Needs to be within a 50 minute drive to a big city with an international airport. We don’t want to spend more than $475k for a 2400 square foot house in nice shape on at least 7 acres for horses, just a little outside of town. Tax rates, short term economic growth and real estate trends do not concern us much, however we don’t want to live in an unclean area. I work at home and do not need to commute anywhere. Satellite internet and a regular telephone keep me in business. We realize that not all of the criteria can be met, so everything is listed in descending order of importance. This is Balwant Singh Garia, an Indian national living and working in Thailand for last 14-15 years, having a respectful job in Bangkok. On May 17, 2009, I had a misfortune of having my computer, air ticket, cash and passport stolen by taxi driver at the Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok. I was leaving for England on a business trip on that fateful day. Having secured a valid police report and photocopies of my passport and other necessary documents, I approached the Indian Embassy for issuance of a new passport, in the last week of May 2009. My job requires frequent traveling to other countries like Europe & U.S.A to secure business for the company. Without a passport and unable to travel for business for the company, my well paying job is at stake. I am married to a Thai national and have a growing up daughter of 5 years. As the mother is not living in Thailand, I also have to take care of my daughter singly. My daughter is a Thai national. If I leave Thailand to India than no one is there to look after the child. I Will not be allowed to reside in Thailand without a proper passport & visa and not be able to take care of my young daughter. My present visa to stay in Thailand expires soon. It’s been nearly more than 5 months since I made a request for issuance of a new passport but I am yet to receive a satisfactory reply from the officials at Indian Embassy in Bangkok. I even have been told that it could take months or years before a new passport could be made which I find very disturbing. I, being an Indian citizen feel quite disappointed and discouraged to find myself in this helpless situation in a foreign country. I think the embassy officials are under a false impression that this is my third passport that has been LOST where as the fact is that my two earlier passports were DAMAGED & NOT STOLEN OR LOST. All previous passports are in my pocession. I am trying to call the responsible officer looking after my case but all the time I am being told by his secretary to call later. I have sent emails to passport issuing authority in New Delhi but so far I haven't recieved any responce from them. Anyone there has any idea what should I do in this situation? B.S. My boyfriend and I are going through a rough patch... I was laid off, and my boyfriend and his father have a company together. The business is going slow, and he has not collected a paycheck in about 3 months. We decided about a few months ago that we should move into my mothers house (she travels a lot with work) so that we could get back onto our feet. When we told his mother about this, she insisted that we move into there guest house, so we did. When we moved in, it was great...we had our own little house, and are saving money like crazy!! Then, the table turned....and his mother became a nightmare along with his sister who is a senior in highschool. At first, his mother, sister and I got along great, but recently it seems like they are out to get me :) After a few weeks of living there, his mother found clothing of mine that his sister has been taking from “our house.” The first time I was a little irritated, but that’s when I told her, if she ever wanted to barrow something just come ask. I guess she took it as if I was mad, and went and told her mom that the only reason she took some clothes was because I barrowed her jeans, so she thought it was ok to just help herself. Well...b4 we moved in, we came over to his rents house for dinner and I had a “girl accident” so I asked his mother if I could barrow a pair of jeans, so she let me barrow a pair of jeans that I gave his sister a week ago. The funny part is when she came home she complimented my jeans, and I told her that these are the ones I gave her, and explained to her that her mother loaned them to me b/c of what happened. Anyways... after his sister went and complained to his mother, his mom came down and had long talk with me about how we girls need to stay out of each others closets, so I explained that the jeans her daughters referring to were the ones she loaned to me way back when. But his mother completely just disregarded what I said and gave me a huge lecture on how I need to respect her daughter’s personal space. Well, to this day she still is coming to “our house” and taking clothes with out asking. My boyfriends’ mother and sister are very materialistic, and with the family business being slow, you need to learn to be more conservative. Well one night my boyfriend starts venting to me about how the girls are constantly shopping, and how its frustrating because he is not receiving a paycheck. He goes up to the rents house, and it’s only his sister and his mother there, so he starts talking about the situation with his mom. Next thing I know, I am receiving a tun of text messages saying how I should stay out of the financial part of their family, and how I am using her son for money! First, I have never asked my boyfriend for anything, and I have stuck by his side through him not getting a paycheck...which he is still owed about 8! My boyfriend comes back to “our house” and is HOT in the head over the situation with his mom and sister talking about me, while he was up there trying to have a “business conv.” I never responded back to the text messages, and my boyfriend and I were distant from his mom and sister for a few weeks. When I think things are getting better, just more things come up...and I am about lose it! I am so madly in love with my boyfriend, and even through these hard times our relationship is GREAT!! I am just scared of me breaking down, and me putting a middle finger in the air and walking out...on the best guy in the world! moreResolved Question: Is he interested in me?
I met this guy during the summer and he goes to my school. We hung out once in july before i went on vacation. When i was coming back home, he chatted online when i was waiting for my flight and he asked me whats going on and i told him that i was hoping to get cyndi lauper tickets before they sold out, but since i was across the country, i couldnt get the tickets, and i can't have them mailed to my place back home because the concert is the day i get back from vacation. he offered to get them for me, and i turned it down saying, "oh that is so nice, but it's ok. i really appreciate it". he offered to meet up after the show, but it never happened because he said that things came up and he couldnt make it. He is a really busy guy, and he's always traveling based off his facebook statuses. for the last month, he's been going to a different city every week doing business in schools. The other day, I saw him in the library on campus. He was on his phone, and He asked me to hold on for a sec, and he kept looking at me when he was on his phone saying "i'm sorry's" and smiling. We chatted a little when he got off the phone, him telling me what he's been up to when i asked. Based off his body language, he looked nervous, and he introduced me to some of his friends he was around. very casually. I had to go then because i was with a friend and he gave me a hug. The friend i was with said that he looked like he gave me a "friend" type of a hug, and me being pessimistic, agreed with her. But then he texts me saying "A breath of fresh air...It was nice seeing you! :) " ugh! is he teasing me? I am really interest in him, but i don't know what to do. should i initiate a hang out? he had initiated several times before apart from the cyndi lauper concert, but we never got around to it and i never really said yes. Take a look at it and check the mistakes it has please! A few years ago, cars had considered a necessity for people’s life, but we didn’t see the problem that it had caused. It seems to me that car is not in absolute good for us. Firstly, the car is one of the major causes of the carbon emission. So, that is because our health is in risk and the environment too. In addition, cars are expensive, you have to fill with gasoline every day, if you use so much and the time to buy too. Moreover, a car is one of the responsible for hundreds of deaths every month in the countries. That is because the imprudent drivers don’t care with the rules. Have car is very responsibility, cause you have people’s life en your hand. Some young people think that drive car is the most fantastic thing; they take like a game. In the other hand, cars are an instrument that helps you in many things, it’s fast to transport you place to place, to traveling and improvement the business helps the industries, etc. To sump up, cars are no especially good for us. Mainly for our health, because we don’t walk anymore and the air pollution too. But wit the technology we resolve that problem and with responsibility of the person the accidents are resolve too. moreResolved Question: Wanting to work for Delta Airlines. HELP?

If so, the port of entry allowed is by air or by train. 3. If travel by train is allowed then can I take the direct train to Zurich (TGV train). moreResolved Question: How Could Regime Change in Iran Best Be Accomplished?
Is it Time for Regime Change in Iran -- and, if so, How Best to do it? Here are some options: 1. Complete cutoff of all trade between USA and Iran (like the Embargo with Cuba). Of particular significance would be parts for oil field replacements. If Iran's oil revenues are cut in half, because of inability to pump, the Regime would be weaker, and more likely to fall. If the priviledged classes in Iran find that they have no easy access to American made pharmaceuticals, they might re-think whether having Ahmadinejad as their leader is really such a great idea. If the Revolutionary Guard and the Army found that they had no easy access to integrated circuits made in USA, they might wonder how long they could protect themselves from their neighbors. Same with filters, and purification systems, and chemicals of military usefulness. 2. The deportation of all non-US-citizen Iranians from USA. This would include the Iranian Ambassador and all Iranian delegations to the World Bank, the UN, or any other organization. They are all Persona Non Grata -- 10 days to get on a plane and be gone from US soil. 3. All bank accounts linked to any terror-related organization in Iran frozen and impounded. 4. All electronic or telephonic communications originating in Iran and coming to the USA monitored. 5. All Iranian flagged vessels kept out of US waters, and not qualified to be insured by US based companies. 6. All US citizens warned that their passports no longer are valid for travel to or from Iran. 7. All businesses in USA with ties to Iran monitored and scrutinized. 8. Strong diplomatic efforts to nations friendly to USA to adopt similar measures. 9. Loans to the Israeli Air Force of tactical ordnance and platforms required to deliver it, plus spare parts, plus upgraded black boxes to make airborne platforms more stealthy and better able to precisely release satellite guided glide bombs, including bunker busters. 10. Efforts by the Treasury and the Federal Reserve and CIA, and State Department to de-stabilize Iranian currency on world markets thereby causing financial panic and ruin among many persons in Irans privileged classes. 11. Supply to Israel of non-nuclear but very powerful electro-motive pulse weapons to cause Iran to re-enter the 12th century. 12. Supply to Israel of carbon fibre weapons to eliminate power transmission facilities in Iran and help it re-enter the 12th century. moreTop Air Business Travel Links
