We live inside of the Milky Way Galaxy. The closest swirling galaxy like our own would be the Andromeda Galaxy, which is at an estimated 2.5 million light years away. The observable universe is at an estimated 93 billion light years in diameter. So if you were to view that as 93 billion light years from one side to the other, you would still have the space from up and down, and every diagonal point of view. X Y and Z etc. The idea of how far 'this' universe extends past the observable universe would be almost infinite in the minds of a human. It's uncomprehendable concidering the estimated age of our universe and the rate in which we have viewed objects in space to be moving apart from eachother. Then you would have to concider multiverses.. dimensions.. etc beyond what we know or will know. Down to the concept of a God putting his one and only son on our tiny dirt ball in space, in which this dirt ball named Earth has a diameter of 7906 miles at its widest point. Or compare 7906 to that of what light travels in a single second. Light would travel the distance of 23.5 Earths in a single second. I feel as though most religions block out the existence of life elsewhere in the universe. As though humans are special. When you'd have to imagine how tiny we really are. This happened a year ago and I am still searching for answers, please someone give me some insight. I have a gram of heddies im getting ready to smoke. I smoke often so I know how it feels to smoke good weed, and a lot of it. Im on 200mg of my prescribed topamax, a very strong anxiety pill that's side effects include, but are not limited too, hallucinations, psychosis, and euphoria. Emily, my best friend is with me, she also smokes a gram by her self. I have never done anything besides drink or smoke weed. I thought weed was the water of drugs, it couldn't hurt you EVER. For awhile everything was great, I was conscious and having the time of my life, goofy as every and dancing in my backyard. I put in some waffles, Emily goes up stairs to my room. I watch the waffles, i take them out put them on a plate i cant find the syrup i get really angry.. I start walking up the stairs, everything gets really piece and slow i try to snap out of it and i cant i just try to talk i cant. I start to walk toward my bed where emily is lying and she looks at me so weird and i stumble to her and everything is like a flip book like not real at all. It was just like i was in an old fashioned movie. I said to her, "help me save me" she grabbed me and shook me and said Liz, Lizzi are you okay!? I started running to my parents and gasping for air and she grabbed me and tried to shake me seeing what I was getting so worked up about, but i resisted and finally made it to my parents room. We got downstairs and my parents came i started dosing off by this point but in my head i was emily and i thought that i was in hell i thought that I just made the biggest mistake of my life and this was my consequence before i could go to heaven, and god was telling me "this is the hardest thing you will ever have to do, its going to hurt so bad, but its going to be worth it." My body felt like it was folding into itself over and over, like i was traveling through hell and that my life was cycling over and over. I would feel amazing pleasure and then extreme sadness and pain. I felt like the voices around me were very, very deep and distorted. my dad grabbed me and i started hitting and punching him over na dover. And in my head i was like humans are fake why is this happening to me. I really thought humans were not real. I just thought it was a huge joke. I had no idea were i was. I wanted god to bring me home, I wanted to kill myself so badly. What happened to me!!! Everyone says you cant trip from weed?? ive smoked it before and they are like oh well you cant trip even if your medicine does have side effect of hallucination, but someone on here must have more information that a bunch of 18 year old idiots. Recently I was driving and was in a collision with a truck. I was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry and I thought I was going about 20-30 miles an hour but from the damage some say I might have been traveling at about 40. RNC communications director Doug Heye, who did not work at the committee when the meeting in Honolulu took place, declined to comment on the expenses Tuesday night. The $340K documented in FEC filings does not include airfare for each staffer, which could amount to tens of thousands more. FEC rules require the party committees to disclose how they spent their money, including listing merchants who received payments, but it does not require the RNC to list destinations of air travel. Given that the RNC spends thousands of dollars for air travel every month, that means there is no way to account for the staffers who flew to Honolulu. I am a 25 year old college graduate, and I have a few questions for those knowledgeable about either of these teams. Please respond only if you know. I am most interested in STO, but I haven't closed the door on CRO. I don't take the decision lightly, and that is why I am asking, no need to flame. I understand that the attrition rate for both of these specialties is very high (~80%) but I have a few questions before I commit myself mentally to preparing for such a rigorous field. 1. How long can a combat controller reasonably expect to serve before their body or psyche begins to break down, if that happens at all? I have been told that there are some special operations groups in which operators typically discharge due to physical limitations as they age. Is it reasonable to expect that an STO could serve a full twenty years in this MOS, or is that unlikely? If it's unlikely, what do those who wish to remain in the air force do if they're no longer effective as an STO? 2. For an STO no longer wishing to remain in the air force, what jobs in the civilian world is a combat controller qualified for? I know that they are FAA certified ATCs, so I would assume that they could become air traffic controllers, but I know that many military pilots have enough trouble transitioning to a major airline, so I'm wondering if this is the same for combat controllers who attempt a career in civilian air traffic control. I know both are qualified for the CIA and FBI, I'm just wondering if ATC is a reasonable possibility. 3. Which MOS would transfer to the civilian world better, combat controller, or pararescue, or would they be about equal? I know this is a very subjective question, but if you could just list what kinds of jobs each could expect after military that would be great. 4. What can I do to prepare for PAST and 2+ years of grueling training mentally and physically? I don't plan to apply for a year or so, which means I have plenty of time, considering I'm in good shape now. Do you have any advice to prepare for the water portions of the training? 5. What is life like for the family of an STO or CRO? Would I be away from home 50% of the time, or would I be home unless deployed? I imagine there is a lot of travel for constant training, but what approximate percentage of time would this constitute in total? 6. How dangerous is it to be an STO or CRO? Obviously the military is a dangerous profession, but how dangerous are either of these specialties in relation to being say, a fighter pilot? I'm just looking for a ballpark estimate if that's even possible. I come from an air force family, but my father died on active duty when I was very young so I have little guidance except to visit a recruiter. I'd rather go there when I'm armed with as much information as possible though, so any help you can provide would be much appreciated. I know it is very difficult to became a member of an elite group like the combat controllers or pararescue, so don't think that I'm naively striving for something I can't reasonably achieve. I excercise intensely five days a week, and grew up in the incredibly rigorous discipline of classical music (the attrition rate for professional orchestras is ~99.5%), so I know what it means to work hard, and I plan to take a year to prepare if necessary. I'm planning to visit a friend down in San Diego, and I was wondering what would be the best way to go about doing that without a car. So far, here's a list of options that I've already researched. All of the below quotes take into account the round trip. Keep in mind that my departure date is set for May 12th, 2010.
