Air Travel Com Questions asked

Open Question: Child who was "directing planes"...is it bad?

I think we have most heard of the story of the 4-5yr old directing planes (two of them) by means on a control tower. He cleared two planes for takeoff (under parental supervision) in a room which undoubtedly had more supervision and flight controllers. You can see the story here: http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/03/03/air.traffic.child/index.html?hpt=T2 What I want to know is this, "what is the big deal"? This child was not alone in the tower. He was not aimlessly directing flights. And at NO POINT would this child have been able to do anything unsafe (due to parental and outside supervision). To me this just seems like another case of blowing things out of proportion. Even the pilots involved thought this was fun / cute. We see on TV every single day how parents put work in front of family. Here is a father who is showing his child (who most likely thinks flying is awesome) what he does every day. He is letting his child experience something "adult". Mainly, it is a tender moment with a father and son...nothing more/nothing less. What do you think? Aside form being a bit "unexpected", what harm or danger did this father/child really put anyone in? To me, I think ti was a noble and cool thing for a parent to do. more

Resolved Question: ( ^ _ ^ ) Did Kim Kardashian ID an air marshal? Your thoughts?

By A. Pawlowski, CNN February 19, 2010 2:03 p.m. EST (CNN) -- Federal air marshals are supposed to blend in with passengers on planes, but an alleged run-in with a Twitter-happy celebrity is highlighting how technology could blow their cover in an instant. It started when reality television star Kim Kardashian was on a flight to Los Angeles, California, earlier this week and became intrigued by her neighbor. So she logged on to Twitter while in the air to share her impressions. "I'm on the airplane...love wifi! I am sitting next to an Air Marshall [sic]! Jim the air marshall [sic] makes me feel safe!" Kardashian wrote. The message went out to the more than 3 million people who follow her on Twitter.http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/02/19/kim.kardashian.air.marshal/index.htmlIf this guy was truly an air marshal, he's no longer one now! Nice going on his part and Kim's part. Come on Kim?! On Twitter of all things?! Geeish girl! Use your brain! ( ^ _ ^ ) Both Kim and the air dude are brain dead! more

Resolved Question: Can someone PLEASE help my friends and I plan our travels around Europe for spring break?!?

My friends and I are currently studying abroad in Rome and we are trying to plan our spring break travels around Europe. Our spring break begins on February 27th and we need to be back in Rome by March 7th. Our main destinations are Amsterdam, Prague, and Munich, preferably in that order (we are trying to start at the top of Europe and work our way down). We want to leave Rome on the 27th of February to go to Amsterdam and leave Munich on the 6th or 7th of March to get back to Rome. I have been looking up flights on easyjet.com and it seems much cheaper to fly into a neighboring city or country and take a train into Amsterdam. I need help planning flights, train rides, hostels, etc., so anyone who has any experience with this would be of much help to us. Also, if you can specifically supply links/prices that would be great. Price IS a concern for us as we are college students, so we do not need to stay in any 5-star hotels or fly first-class. All I ask is to avoid Ryan Air because I have heard some awful things about them. If anyone can help us we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much! Ciao! more

Resolved Question: When will a TV show about Japan air in America?

My boyfriend and I are traveling to Kyoto and Tokyo for ten days in a few months and he knows next to NOTHING about the country, while I've been studying for several years. I'd like to record some programs on our DVR about Tokyo and Kyoto, but I can't find any that will be playing soon. I know the Travel Channel and the Discovery Channel used to air shows about Japanese culture and cities randomly, but I can't find anything that will be airing soon. I've tried looking on our TV, on TVGuide.com, and a few other websites for show schedules, but no luck. Are there any other Japanophiles out there that might know of a show or series on Japan/Tokyo/Kyoto that will be airing soon?I already know the major in and outs of Japanese daily culture and manners, but my boyfriend doesn't. I figured showing him Travel Channel-type shows about daily Japanese life or major tourist attractions in Japan would help him out as far as the basics. He's not a big 'reader' to start with, and he's so busy with class and work that I'd feel bad if I dumped a whole bunch of Japanese ettiquette literature on his lap as well. I really think that he could get a better feel for their culture if he could see it on-screen. Even online documentaries or Tokyo-guide shows would help. more

Resolved Question: Should Pelosi resign from inappropriately using air force planes as private jets for her and her family?

Doug Ross: Meet the Pelosi family! Using Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Judicial Watch uncovered thousands of pages of travel documents related to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's use of military aircraft. What hasn't been revealed thus far is that military aircraft are being used to shuttle Pelosi's kids and grandkids between DC and San Francisco time and time again, which appears to be a violation of the appropriate rules (see above). Put simply, the United States Air Force is serving as a multi-billion dollar chauffeur- and baby-sitting service for Nancy Pelosi's kids and grandkids -- presumably because commercial travel is beneath the families of the autocrats. http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2010/01/us-military-serving-as-chauffeurs.html more

Voting Question: I am having difficulty breathing in my neck this morning?

My mom demanded me to come in her room to tell me that she doesn't like the snow. She's laying in her bed watching the snow on tv. And, I like the snow. I can get nice photos of the snow... Snow also reflects lots of ultraviolet, which means color films pick up lots of blue in the shadows on sunny days. The ultraviolet (UV) filter does little to reduce this, in our experience; the skylight (lA), which has a slight pinkish color, works better. http://www.forphotography.com/how-tos/snow.html And I like to learn how to ski and someday ride a snowmobile. http://www.mechanicsofsport.com/skiing.html http://www.snowmobilesforsaletoday.com/how-ride-snowmobile/ Dance Like Snowflakes (Sung to Are You Sleeping) Dance like snowflakes, dance like snowflakes In the air, in the air Whirling, twirling snowflakes Whirling, twirling snowflakes Here and there, here and there "Water Flows Toward Enlightenment" by Amber "V" Moonstone Water flows toward the endless sea, the strength of this flow amazes me, flowing from the river, through the brooks and down the many waterfalls that stretch through my back yard. Watching the thunderous flow, as the Earth melts all the snow, makes me aware of my own life's energy. Is It as smooth and natural as the Earth's flow? At this very moment it is not. I am blocked, closed, alone, lonely, sad, overworked, stretched too far... but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, It is this light that always sustains my soul. I must go to my sacred place; that place that always ignites the light that constantly dwells within. The days that are the darkest, reep the most lightness. To remind me of my goodness, to remind me of my destiny, to remind me of my journey, and mostly to remind me that the Universe is counting on me to deliver what I treasure the most, "Peace, love and lightness!" What I have seen today, has sparked a flicker of hope that I will soon be on the right path toward my energy flow into the endless sea of life. ABOUT A SNOWFLAKE] Life of a Snowflake By Dean Thorpe Frozen water drop, falling from the sky. Slowly drifting down, from the clouds so high. No two flakes that fall, are ever the quite same. Gliding through the air, floating like a flame. Down towards the Earth, oh where will it land. On a Christmas tree? In a small boys hand? No such luck this time, landed on a car. Speeding down the road, did not travel far. Windscreen wipers on, snow pushed to the side. Falling to the floor, nowhere left to hide. Disappearing now, vanished down the drain. Floating to the sea, with the fallen rain. Then another day, back into the sky. Up into the clouds, how it loves to fly. On a winters day, time to fall again. Something fun this time, please not down the drain. Scooped up as it lands, made into a ball. See a smiling face, hear a young boy call. Children gather round, see the man of snow. Now its feels a part, never wants to go. ABOUT A SNOWFLAKE] Life of a Snowflake By Dean Thorpe Frozen water drop, falling from the sky. Slowly drifting down, from the clouds so high. Resolved Question: Question about Flights etc...?

I will be traveling from the UK to the USA sometime during August 2010. I have been debating whether to buy my ticket now or closer to the date. I have kept my eye on the prices and they seem to be going up. However, I just decided to check now and I am considering using Air Canada. When I go to the Air Canada Website I get the price £748 but when I do it through NetFlights.com I can get the exact same flight for £362 which is obviously a huge saving. Why is there such a difference? Or is NetFlights not legit? What would you suggest I do..? Thank you =)No its not a server issue, I have just checked Thomas Cook and they have it for £368.. Resolved Question: Are you happy that San Fran Nan is using Air Force jets to shuttle her kids and grand kids around?

Taxpayers are not just paying for Pelosi’s expensive booze and food, they’re paying for the military to play taxi with her kids and grand kids, too. Using Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, Judicial Watch uncovered thousands of pages of travel documents related to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s use of military aircraft. What hasn’t been revealed so far is that military aircraft are being used to shuttle Pelosi’s kids and grandkids between DC and San Francisco without any Congressional representatives even onboard! Resolved Question: Why is democrat Nancy Pelosi using the air force to host her version of a frat party?

It reads like a dream order for a wild frat party: Maker's Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey's Irish Crème, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewars scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, Jack Daniels whiskey … and Corona beer. But that single receipt makes up just part of the more than $101,000 taxpayers paid for "in-flight services" – including food and liquor, for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trips on Air Force jets over the last two years. That's almost $1,000 per week. Documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by Judicial Watch, which investigates and prosecutes government corruption, show Pelosi incurred expenses of some $2.1 million for her use of Air Force jets for travel over that time. "Speaker Pelosi has a history of wasting taxpayer funds with her boorish demands for military travel," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said today. "And these documents suggest the Speaker's congressional delegations are more about partying than anything else." http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=123472 more

Resolved Question: What's the name of a 90's miniseries about time travel?

Its a miniseries or a movie with quite a few sequels, i remember that it was aired in the late 90's on star movies in India and across the globe. I'll post what all i recall from the plot: The second most intelligent man of earth (in the future), travels back in time in a time traveling ship, to give/take help from a present day teenager. He gives the boy a watch that protects them during traveling in time & space. They are searching for pieces of a crystal that they don't wish for the villain to find and put together. The villain is the first most intelligent man of earth (future) and travels through time in a time traveling suit, tailing them hunting for the crystal pieces like them. In a surprise twist after many episodes its discovered that the second most intelligent man who was previously thought to be the good guy is the actual villain, and the other guy was the good guy but couldn't reach the teenager the lead of the series before the real villain. Some other details that i remember: The First most intelligent man on earth was possibly bald and an African-american. They not only travel through time but also space. (different dimensions possible too) In one of the episodes they (the time traveler with the ship, the teenager, and a girl they met up before and teamed with) go back in time when the teenager was a baby, they discover that they are invisible in that time, and they save the baby from falling and seeing the baby float (invisible teen holding him) the dad hits his hand with a hammer. I hope these details are wnough for some one out there to recognise the name of the movie/miniseries. Please respond at the earliest, Thanking you in advance. p.s. if your 101% sure and you know the answer mail me on sandy1kumar@gmail.com also. more

Voting Question: Is the guy who did this an idiot?

PHILADELPHIA - A college student returning to school after the winter break fell victim to a prank at Philadelphia's airport by a Transportation Security Administration worker who pretended to plant a plastic bag of white powder in her carryon luggage. The worker is no longer employed by the TSA after the incident this month, a spokeswoman said. Rebecca Solomon, 22, a University of Michigan student, wrote in a column for her campus newspaper that she was having her bags screened on Jan. 5 before her flight to Detroit when the employee stopped her, reached into her laptop computer bag and pulled out the plastic bag, demanding to know where she had gotten the powder. In the Jan. 10 column for The Michigan Daily, she recounted how she struggled to come up with an explanation, wondering if it was bomb-detonating material slipped in by a terrorist or drugs put there by a smuggler. "He let me stutter through an explanation for the longest minute of my life," Solomon wrote. "Tears streamed down my face as I pleaded with him to understand that I'd never seen this baggie before." A short time later, she said, the worker smiled and said it was his. The worker "waved the baggie at me and told me he was kidding, that I should've seen the look on my face," she said. Solomon said she asked to speak to a supervisor and filled out a complaint, and during that process was told that the man was training TSA workers to detect contraband. Two days later, she said, she was told he had been disciplined. "I had been terrified and disrespected by an airport employee," she said. "He'd joked about the least funny thing in air travel." There was no answer Saturday at a telephone listing for Solomon at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. An e-mail message seeking comment from her was sent Saturday by The Associated Press, and a telephone message was left at her parents' home in suburban Philadelphia. TSA spokeswoman Ann Davis told The Philadelphia Inquirer she did not dispute the student's account and said the employee was no longer with the agency, though she declined to say whether he had been fired or quit. She also declined to identify the worker or his job title, citing privacy laws. "TSA viewed this behavior to be completely inappropriate and unprofessional," Davis said in a statement. "The employee was immediately disciplined by TSA management at the Philadelphia airport." TSA representatives did not return calls Saturday seeking comment. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35033582/ns/us_news-airliner_security/ more

Resolved Question: About Infant Air Fare...?

Hi, I am a bit confused on purchasing a ticket at "cheaptickets.com", I will travel outside US. So basically I'm from NYC going outside the country, and I have a 7month old baby. For what I've read, I've learned that infants in 2yrs below, will be only charged 10% of the adult fare, if the child was on lap. And if on a seat, there would be a child air fare. My problem is, how am I going to pay for the 10% charge if I buy at cheaptickets which only corresponds to my ticket? Could I pay the 10% at the airport when checking in? or should I pay it on the airline? I dont really have an idea. This is my first time going out with an infant. Let me know. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Obama supporters: A walk down memory lane, Obama's first 50 days. Are you finally ready to admit your chosen?

leader is in way over his head? http://www.examiner.com/x-3704-Columbia-Conservative-Examiner~y2009m3d15-When-the-world-figures-out-Obama-is-in-over-his-head BELOW IS JUST THE FIRST 50 DAYS: Russia is considering sending bombers to air bases in Cuba and Venezuela. A dangerous liaison has been forged between Communists and Islamo-fascists in Iran, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, and North Korea. Obama has ordered a halt to a missile defense shield that is necessary to protect the free world from nuclear attack. Obama has also ordered the release of known terrorists from Gitmo--cold blooded murderers who are now back at work in the Jihad. And let's not forget that Obama has also ordered the closing of Gitmo, which will mean that ultimately the world's most dangerous persons will be sent to the U.S. mainland to be housed in somebody's backyard. Add to these the fact that Obama has snubbed some of our closest allies, such as Britain and Israel, and cozied up to some of the most barbaric terrorist regimes in the world, such as Hamas. He also wants to open up travel and trade with Cuba even as the Communist regime considers allowing Russian bombers to take port in its air fields. Are you finally seeing a pattern here? more

Resolved Question: Does EARTH actually rotate? A must read....?

I've been reading this article written by Sharon Jorgenson and she says that the earth does NOT rotate. And I have this gut feeling that she might be right. Some will use the argument of gravity. Have our scientists been lying to us? We've disproved them with the Global Warming, why not this too? PLEASE read and then give me your arguments that would disprove what she is saying. I propose that mankind’s final “collapse” will be a paradigm one. My best candidate is the Copernican worldview: the belief that the Earth revolves daily on an axis and orbits the sun annually. All real (i.e. physical/observational) evidence over 400 years of scientific experimenting proves that the Earth is not moving. http://www.fixedearth.com Current accepted wisdom of a “solar system” and enormous expanding universe is based on mathematical (abstract) formula's. How is this possible?! Simply, we have been living in a blindfolded consciousness and have arrogantly assumed that our scientific advancements have led us to the truth of reality. From his deathbed (from food poisoning) Tycho Brahe pleaded with Johannes Kepler to not use his decades of painstaking observations of planetary movements to support the heliocentric hypothesis. On page 42 of The Earth is Not Moving by Marshall Hall we learn “Though the whole world ultimately abandoned the Centred model which Brahe championed, it is essential today, Vern, that everyone realize that Tycho Brahe’s model has not been disproven. In fact, though scarcely anyone knows it, Brahe’s non-moving Earth model is used today in all the applied sciences including practical astronomy, space travel and eclipse predictions!” Also every missile and space shuttle that is launched I might add. When you jump on an air plane for travel ALL calculations to determine its navigation over 1000s of miles are based on a non-moving Earth. The Earth does not move!! We have been blind and blinded. No one has ever seen the Earth move, felt it move or PROVEN that it moves. In fact, numerous assumptions must be made to assert that it moves despite contrary empirical evidence (see http://www.fixedearth.com/Assumptions.htm). Then why was an Earth centric belief system rejected? Because at the time Heliocentrism was coming on the world scene (7th Day of the National Cycle) its competing view was not Brahe’s, but an outdated Ptolemaic understanding of the movements of the sun, stars and planets. Galileo did not prove that the Earth moved when he noticed moons circling Jupiter, but because it was erroneously believed that all heavenly bodies revolved solely around the Earth in perfect circles (not ellipses) in God’s creation the reality of a fixed Earth suffered a fatal blow. Coupled with Kepler’s appropriation of Brahe’s work prevented an accurate understanding of solar, stellar and planetary movement from challenging the new, unproven heliocentric view. Truth is beautiful and from an Earth centred view the path of the planets form lovely flower patterns, but a view from say Mars shows chaotic movements of the other planets (except Earth as the path is a mirror image) see http://www.realityreviewed.com/Flower%20Pattern.htm . The loop de loops you see at this web page are the apparent retrograde motions of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Tycho Brahe was right. Sharon L. Jorgenson more

Resolved Question: What should GWB have done to prevent 9/11?

Should he have shut down all air travel? Maybe he should have shut down all interstate travel completely like SmartyPants Biden suggested regarding the swine flu. "Bin Laden determined to attack within the United States" is not exactly SPECIFIC information. Just how exactly is 9/11 anymore Bush's fault than Pearl Harbor was Roosevelt's? These were SURPRISE attacks. After 9/11 we were not successfully attacked by muslim jihadists because of the efforts taken by the Bush administration. President Barry cannot claim surprise that we are under attack from muslim jihadists, so why is he reversing the efforts that kept us safe after 9/11. If we are attacked again it will be because Barry let them in. http://www.redcounty.com/obama-administration-sets-stage-bogus-asylum-seekers-take-america-storm/34966 http://news.newamericamedia.org/news/view_article.html?article_id=f35b300ec73d76f7ccc97e547a14056aHolding a meeting still does not stop terrorism anywhere or 9/11. Resolved Question: How many times did Napolitano dodge the question in this CNN interview?

http://www.theatlanticwire.com/features/view/feature/Janet-Napolitano-The-System-Worked-519 You can actually see her bobbing and weaving like a boxer. And notice the way she subtly blamed Bush at the end. And how the CNN interviewer looked like she was going to throw up. PARAPHRASING: JN: I just want the traveling public to feel safe and confident in air travel, because as soon as we found out a plane almost go blown up, the system worked perfectly in the way we reacted to this event after it happened. CNN: If the system worked so well, how did it happen in the first place? JN: Ummmmm. I dunno. We're trying to figure that out ourselves. CNN: I'm not allowed to get on the plane with too much toothpaste. How did he get on board with explosives? JN: Hey, it was only one suicide bomber. Give us a break. CNN: Ya, but it only takes one. JN: Well, let's not focus on that, let's focus on the magnificent job our people did in responding to it. CNN: If he was on a list of suspected terrorists, why wasn't he checked more carefully to find the explosives in his pants? JN: Well, we have to be very careful how credible information is before we start barring people from air travel. Remember, these security procedures have been in place for years (Bush did it), and it's not like we PANICKED (eyeroll) and shut down all air travel (like Bush did). CNN: I'm going to be sick. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: NOW, this was released the next day: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091228/ap_on_go_ot/us_airliner_attack Napolitano concedes airline security system failed "A day after saying the system worked, Napolitano backtracked, saying her words had been taken out of context. "Our system did not work in this instance," she said on NBC's "Today" show. "No one is happy or satisfied with that. An extensive review is under way." "The White House press office, traveling with President Barack Obama in Hawaii, said early Monday that the president would make a statement from the Kaneoho Marine Base in the morning. White House spokesman Bill Burton did not elaborate. "Billions of dollars have been spent on aviation security since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, when commercial airliners were hijacked and used as weapons. Much of that money has gone toward training and equipment that some security experts say could have detected the explosive device that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is accused of hiding on his body on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit." Aaah, the favorite Democrat defense. Her words were "taken out of context." Like Bill Clinton's famous "I did NOT have *** relations with that woman" were taken out of context. Will Obama's statement be "Napolitano, under the bus!!" BEEP BEEP! Here comes the bus....Patches, yes I got your subtle reference to scientific notation. :-) And isn't it odd how Mexicans just feel like they have the RIGHT to invade a foriegn country and commit crimes there, and be safe from getting shot for it. Napolitano agrees, and now she's in charge of our national security. HELLO!!!!!!! more

Resolved Question: Do you believe it when Janet Napolitano says the “system worked”?

What we are focused on is making sure that the air environment remains safe, that people are confident when they travel. And one thing I’d like to point out is that the system worked. Everybody played an important role here. The passengers and crew of the flight took appropriate action. Within literally an hour to 90 minutes of the incident occurring, all 128 flights in the air had been notified to take some special measures in light of what had occurred on the Northwest Airlines flight. We instituted new measures on the ground and at screening areas, both here in the United States and in Europe, where this flight originated. So the whole process of making sure that we respond properly, correctly and effectively went very smoothly. If the “system” had “worked,” the U.S. consular officials who granted Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab a short-term visa last June would have revoked it immediately upon being informed by his father that he was a Muslim radical with al Qaeda ties. If the “system” had “worked,” U.S. consular officials would have never granted Abdulmutallab — a rootless, young, single male — a visa in the first place in compliance with State Department visa regulation 214(b): That law requires an applicant to show strong roots in his home country — such as a house, a spouse, and/or employment — in order to prove that he would be likely to return home when his visa expired. Young, single, unemployed men are the people most often refused visas under 214(b) (when it is actually enforced) for the very reasons that al Qaeda recruits them so heavily: They are shiftless and have very little to stop them from packing up and moving to a new country. There’s also, sadly, very little to prevent them from committing terrorist attacks. If the “system” had “worked,” Abdulmutallab would have been barred from the U.S. like he had been barred from Britain. The “system,” like Napolitano, was an epic fail. And as predicted, Napolitano also played the “lone nut” card — dismissing the Christmas Day jihadist as a single operator not part of “anything larger” despite his own testimony to the contrary. She’s Obama’s biggest joker. And there’s no Blame-Bush loophole to weasel through anymore. http://michellemalkin.com/2009/12/27/clown-alert-janet-napolitano-says-the-system-worked/ more

Voting Question: When is the best time to buy Air Fare tickets for March?

I'm planning a trip out to Austin, TX for a Music Conference that goes from March 15th to March 21st. I'm planning to arrive there on March 14th & plan to leave (or get back here to NYC) on March 21st (I'm not planning to go to the last event of the conference.). I've checked Priceline, Travelocity, etc. Most of them have expensive prices like $689 round trip on either Priceline or Travelocity (I don't remember which one.). Although, when I went to Kayak.com I saw $220 Airfare & couldn't believe what I was seeing (I chose Hotwire & some other Low Fare engine to compare each other to that Kayak.com has you do.). Now, I'm assuming the Air Fare is Actually $440 WITHOUT the Hotel?? Right? I mean, last yr. I went to Nashville (late July) & I paid $467 from Orbitz.com, but wasn't aware that even though I was checking under the Lowest Fares under the "Flight & Hotel" Category I thought $467 INCLUDED the Hotel Stay (Duhhh...etc.). Only to learn that when I got to Nashville I found out that the Hotel was SEPARATE from the Air Fare. SO...etc.: 1) When is the Best time to purchase these Air Fare (& Hotel) Tickets for my March trip (now, Jan., Feb. or 1st week of March) for a LOW - CHEAP PRICE (Under $500)? 2) What IS a Travel Package - How does this work? OR 3) What does a "Flight & Hotel" Category do for you when it seems like I was paying SEPARATELY (Hotel & Air Fare)? *****I'm not looking to Sight See. I'm going down there to look for any opportunities in the Recording Studio & Music Scene. I've heard that there's A Lot of Live Music (Bands) down there AND A Lot of other Diff. Types of Music (It's a "Business Trip". Not a Vacation.). Please let me know. I really don't know how this system works. Any Help would be appreciated. more

Resolved Question: NObama is now telling airlines how to operate. Does his fascistic dictation no no limits?

"Under the new regulations, airlines operating domestic flights will be able only to keep passengers on board for three hours before they must be allowed to disembark a delayed flight. Resolved Question: Is Osama disguised as a women traveling through Afghanistan to Iran?

It has been proved Osama's wife and son are in Iran in compound protected by the Iranian secret police. I predicted this scenario in 2004 when intelligence was showing traffic of Al-Qaeda resources coming from Iran. This theory was further fueled by increased Al-Qaeda operation toward Iraq coming from Iran. In 2005 I published a non-classified report stating that there is a 80% chance OBL was in Iran at least most of the time. A idiot from the Air Force crushed my report and I asked why and he could give no reason so I resigned. There was a lot of hard evidence that UBL was traveling from Iran across Afghanistan dressed as a women. Sorry Faux News! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,580945,00.html more

Resolved Question: men, do i sound stuck up?

I am blessed to have traveled all over the world. I have been to central America, south America, Europe, France. I am visiting Europe, next year to visit my aunt. I hope to learn German one day, hoping to start in college. The background on myspace is a famous German painter. (gustav klimt) whose painting, I am going to see in Austria. For now in college I am just getting my feet wet, handling the classes I have. I take allot pictures feel their is no such thing as no beauty in a picture. It be like no words in a poem. I enjoy ballroom dancing planning on opening a studio. IM lucky to have one of the international ballroom dancer winner, as my instructor. I like to randomly run 8 miles, out of the blue. To go dancing into the night. I also, like to surf, the ocean it is my inner peace. No lullaby can sound as sweet as the ocean. ''The way the waves gently hit the rocks like a drum stick to a drum. The way the waves comb the shore, it is truly paradise. '' Family is essential in my life! it is hard for me to admit it, but I be lost with out them. ''No foundation is as strong''! Resolved Question: Why do illegal aliens get a free ride home at US taxpayer expense?

Now Boarding: Illegal Immigrants On One-Way Tickets Home (by Miriam Jordan, WSJ.com) KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- While U.S. airlines downsize and scrimp on amenities, one carrier is offering its passengers leather seats, ample legroom and free food. But frequent fliers probably don't want a ticket on what may be the fastest growing "airline" serving Central America. This carrier is run by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement [ICE], the federal agency responsible for finding and deporting undocumented immigrants. A crackdown on illegal immigration has led to a spike in deportations and the creation of a de facto airline to send the deportees home. The air service, called Repatriate by air-traffic controllers, is known simply as ICE Air to agency employees. Its planes have headrests emblazoned with ICE's name and seal. In-flight service is polite. "For a lot of these immigrants, it has been a long journey to the U.S.," said Michael J. Pitts, chief of flight operations for deportations and removals at ICE. "This is going to be the last impression they have of the United States. We want to provide good service." Mr. Pitts, a former military pilot, said ICE Air operates much like a commercial carrier, flying passengers to hub cities where they connect to international flights. But those hub cities -- such as Mesa, Ariz., and Alexandria, La., which are close to illegal-immigrant detention sites -- are relatively obscure. And the final destinations are primarily in Latin America, including up to three flights daily to Guatemala City and two to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Mr. Pitts also recently launched service to the Philippines, Indonesia and Cambodia. In all, the U.S. government deports people to more than 190 countries. Outside of Mexico, ICE flew home 76,102 illegal immigrants in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, up from 72,187 last year and 50,222 two years ago. ICE Air's patrons are what the airline industry calls "non-revenue passengers," since Washington foots the bill at $620 a person on average for the one-way flight home. The agency now flies 10 aircraft, twice as many as last year, including leased and government jets. From Kansas City, Mr. Pitts' team coordinates with 24 ICE field offices and monitors all flights. On a recent morning, staffers tracked seven ICE Air flights to Central America on an electronic wall map. Three schedulers worked the phones and emailed frantically to place immigrants on future flights. "We have 30 El Salvadoran aliens ready to be removed," an official at an Arizona detention facility said by phone. Patty Ridley checked her roster and confirmed the seats on a flight scheduled to leave Mesa, Ariz., for San Salvador two weeks later. Another scheduler, Dawnesa Williams, who previously worked as a corporate travel agent, coordinated the journey of an illegal immigrant from Bakersfield, Calif. Like mainstream carriers, ICE knows it gets more bang for the buck if it can fill every seat, so it doesn't schedule any flight until it has a critical mass of deportees. "We are making a valiant attempt to overbook," said Mr. Pitts. Sometimes passengers get bumped, he said, "to make room for priority cases." Those might be convicted criminals who are wanted by their country or individuals eager to get home due to a family emergency. http://www.studentnewsdaily.com/daily-news-article/now-boarding-illegal-immigrants-on-one-way-tickets-home/ more

Resolved Question: 'Soot' as a serious cause of warming...... as much or more than greenhouse gasses?

As a 'skeptic' I believe that this is quite plausible. It is easily reproducible in my backyard. (Yes, I live in an area that has snow in the winter) "New Study Turns Up the Heat on Soot's Role in Himalayan Warming (w/ Video)" December 14, 2009 A new modeling study from NASA confirms that when tiny air pollution particles we commonly call soot - also known as black carbon - travel along wind currents from densely populated south Asian cities and accumulate over a climate hotspot called the Tibetan Plateau, the result may be anything but inconsequential. In fact, the new research, by NASA’s William Lau and collaborators, reinforces with detailed numerical analysis what earlier studies suggest: that soot and dust contribute as much (or more) to atmospheric warming in the Himalayas as greenhouse gases. This warming fuels the melting of glaciers and could threaten fresh water resources in a region that is home to more than a billion people. Tiny air pollution particles commonly called soot, but also known as black carbon, are in the air and on the move throughout our planet. The Indo-Gangetic plain, one of the most fertile and densely populated areas on Earth, has become a hotspot for emissions of black carbon (shown in purple and white). Winds push thick clouds of black carbon and dust, which absorb heat from sunlight, toward the base of the Himalayas where they accumulate, rise, and drive a "heat pump" that affects the region's climate. "Over areas of the Himalayas, the rate of warming is more than five times faster than warming globally," said William Lau, head of atmospheric sciences at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. "Based on the differences it’s not difficult to conclude that greenhouse gases are not the sole agents of change in this region. There’s a localized phenomenon at play." Climatologists have generally blamed the build-up of greenhouse gases for the retreat, but Lau’s work suggests that may not be the complete story. http://www.physorg.com/news180035832.html more

Resolved Question: The french fries and Lebron's traveling...................?

Having fun with a little boy and sometimes stealing french fries is actually cool and funny, it's so down to earth. But I don't like the non-call during the play. Here are the facts from the NBA website: RULE NO. 4-DEFINITIONS Section III-Dribble A dribble is movement of the ball, caused by a player in control, who throws or taps the ball into the air or to the floor. RULE NO. 10-VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES Section III-Dribble d. A player may dribble a second time if he lost control of the ball because of: (1) A field goal attempt at his basket, provided the ball touches the backboard or basket ring (2) An opponent touching the ball (3) A pass or fumble which has then touched another player The rules are clear. After the first tap, nobody other than Lebron touched the ball. While the ball was up in his hand and before somebody fouled him, he obviously took more than two steps. Let me repeat only Lebron touched the ball and then he took more than two steps, basic traveling call. NBA should rewrite the rules if they aren't gonna enforce it. The rules are clearly written in the NBA website. http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_index.html Here's the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMp1uAVxbfE more

Resolved Question: what is life like for an air force woman fighter pilot?

since i was in jhs i decided to become an astronaut, later in hs i realized the real competitiveness of becoming one (atleast as a civilian), so i looked into a different approach. i found out about the space programs that the airforce has with nasa and started growing an interest in flying. i will become one of the best damn pilots the usaf has seen and improve my chances at qualifying for piloting a space shuttle. I am a 23yr old, unmarried woman. i have a BS in mechanical engineering (choose this major to improve my chances) and im in good health. I plan on becoming an air force pilot through the ots program and have already started studying for the afoqt. but before i can contact a recuiter, i am doing my research to know exactly what i will be getting into...a min. 10 year commitment as a fighter pilot is not very easy to give away. By the time im done with my commitment i will be 34. so with that said i want to know the life i will have from ppl who are in the airforce, esp from the pilots/women. how often will i be able to see my friends and family who are very close to me? how easy/difficult is it to find your "other half" while on active duty? will i have time to do things i like? traveling, sports, beaches, movies, and hanging out with friends? more disturbing as i was youtubing and googling, i kept finding out stuff bout rapes/threats from a lot of women inthe military (IE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDO9a03oZY0)...and thats coming only from the ones brave enough to speak out about it. is there a real line barrier between men and women in the usaf. its bad enough to be worried bout your life on enemy grounds, but to be constantly watching ur back even in the safe haven of your base which to most is "home", its just disturbin. i want to know if life in the service is really that bad, of if things have changed, or if there are better laws to prevent such things from happening.??? PLEASE ANY ADVISE/COMMENT WILL HELP. 10 years is a serious commitment, but if i will not feel safe at my own "base/home" i dont want IN or any part of it. more
