Resolved Question: Will I get problems by entering and leaving Canada at the same day?
I am going to Canada for a MLB game. I am going to Toronto, Canada for 1 day. I will enter Canada at 12 PM, and will leave at 5PM, I am going by myself, I am an American citizen, with an American Passport. I am 16 years old, and will be traveling by myself, by air. Will I have any problems/delays with the Canadian Customs and Border Protection just because I going and coming back the same day? Please help!!!! Im 16 and going by myself. Will I be pulled away by Canadian immigration, and be screened for questioning just because I am going for a few hours? I am leaving on Monday morning, and leave Monday night. Please help!!! moreResolved Question: Visa for Travelling VIA Canada from Mexico?
I am trying to help a friend of mine out. She holds a Mexican passport and is travelling to Greece from Mexico via Canada. No visa requirements for Greece! The via Canada part is a major pain in our a#%! Canada requires a transit visa. The best ticket prices we have found are via Canada and we're thinking about possibly just avoiding a flight plan via Canada. Canadian Citizenship and Immigration website's is a sloppy and confusing mess. I can find just about everything from getting a worker's visa to getting a permanent resident permit. I have no idea how to get a transit one. Furthermore, Air Canada was no help at all. They told us we have to contact the consulate. If someone could please give me the following information: 1. What information, fees(if any), forms, applications, and requirements does she need. 2. If she needs to fill out any forms and applications, please provide links to the forms and/or applications where she can download and print them. Further details and questions: -I know that it's most likely they will require to see a ticket purchased showing a return flight to mexico, but my friend does not want to buy tickets unless she can have her visa secured beforehand, if this is possible. Can she just print the itinerary she plans on purchasing for the time being? She'd rather just present the visa and tickets at customs in the airport if possible. -I doubt this will matter, but she has two stops in Canada. One in Toronto and one in Montreal. She will be in the country for less than 48 hours and will not leave the airport. -She prefers to do everything on-line or through the mail. She does not want to visit the Canadian embassy as the nearest one is a three hour flight for her. It might be prohibitive. -She also needs to take into account the return home as it will also involve travelling via Canada. All this frustration for two connecting flights!!! Canada must have some nice airports to requre visas!Yes, I have met this person. We met when I was in Acapulco and we are very close friends. If she has to then maybe she will go to the embassy, but like I said she lives a three hour flight from the embassy. For those that find her unwillingness "suspicious", imagine having to fly from Chicago to Los Angeles to visit the Canadian embassy just to obtain a visa for a connecting flight! Please only answer my question if you're going to help and not provide any dumb paranoid answers. moreResolved Question: Lost all identifications/wallet while traveling domestically in Canada?
I lost my wallet (which had all my identification cards in it) while traveling... I need to catch a flight over from Toronto to Vancouver ASAP.. but have no identifications... I have looked at pretty much all comparison sites, Canadian Affair, Air Transat and Canada Travel Services websites and the best price I can get for June departure is £722, this is for return flights for 2 adults. Does anyone know of anywhere else I may have not found that might be better than this? moreResolved Question: As an American I like to think we are well liked, what's your opinion of Americans as a whole ?
Also I want to express my gratitude for how our people were treated by Canadians after 9-11 when all air travel was grounded. Thank You Very Much.Judging all Americans as greedy or violent is as unfair as any descimination. There is not a country or a people who can say they have never done anything wrong in their history. Our country just like most have things in their past that they are or should be ashamed of.If you judge all Americans the same that is wrong. moreResolved Question: Can I travel within Canada?

I'm a Canadian citizen going to the US in a couple of days. I was wondering what documents may be required besides a passport?i need a visa?? moreResolved Question: Who likes this plot? I'm writing this in a novel.?
So it's a fantasy, and there are five species. Elysi,(Ell-iss-EYE) Elves(just a filler name for now), Ankou (Ahn-KOO), Angels, and Darkangels. Elysi are half-Angel, but don't know it. (Angels are basically the "god" of Taerra(TAY-rah).)Elysi can use Magic. Magic consists of six elements, Light, Dark, Fire, Water, Earth, Air. Elves can use all elements in Magic, but rarely use it because there aren't many fights in their country. they are naturally tanned. Ankou are evil, malicious creatures. they are pale and all of them have the same eyes as Darkangels. They are basically undead but they're not vampires or anything. in a way, they're like Strigoi from the Vampire Academy Series. they often attack Elysi villiages, killing most but capturing families so they can see their loved ones tortured and killed. Some are able to control themselves, and disguise themselves as Elysi, mapping out villiages and the best ways in and to attack. the protagonist, Lyric, is a poor 16 year old Elysi who lives with her mother, Estelle, who is paralyzed from the waist down, and her younger sister, Iathine(EYE-a-thee-nn)(originally Ianthine, which means frail flower, but i could't figure out pronunciation, so...), who is deathly ill. Iathine's illness has only one cure, and it is quite expensive. The reason she has this disease is because the ultimate dark being, half Ankou, Half Darkangel, sent a Darkangel to curse Ianthine when the sisters were 9 and 5. Every year in their country, the Elysi have a huge magic contest. this year, it is in the villiage Lyric lives in. The sponsor are quite wealthy, so the prize is any one thing that costs up to 1, 000, 000 Maji(Taerran currency, 1 Maji = 1 Canadian dollar). Lyric enters, but a greedy Ankou princess(villiagers think she's Elysi) named Sorcha decides she wants to win, but knows Lyric would win. so, she gets a minion to kidnap Lyric and take her to the Elven country a few weeks before the contest. She wakes up in a cell, shackled to the ground. she is visited by Ekimmu, the girl who cursed Ianthine. That night, she is visited by her Gaurdian Angel, who helps her escape. Lyric finds Ekimmu, kills her to get revenge. she travels across the country, befriending a certain animal along the way, which helps her fight. in a large city, she meets Ryder, an Elven thief, and Leon, her step-father and the cause of her mothers paralysis. Ryder falls in love with Lyric, but she pushes him away because he's a thief, but he's only so because he's broke. she believes in working to get Maji. she leaves the city and he comes with her, trying to change his ways. Lyric eventually accepts him, and falls in love with him. at the Elven border, they meet Vaarn, the ultimate dark being. i'm stuck on what will exactly happen, but he ends up being killed. they finally make it back to her villiage, and basically they show up for the contest. they are about to award Sorcha, but Lyric and Ryder show up, and Lyric challeges everyone in the contest. After a bit, there's only Sorcha and Lyric left. Lyric ends up winning, and her gaurdian angel returns home. Then will be the epilogue, and it'll basically be that it's years from the, maybe when Ryder and lyric are married, Iathine is cured, and her mother is healed of her paralysis. and the last paragraph will be about entering her room to grab something, and she sees her guardian angel, who looks weak, and translucent. and she's crying and muttering thingss like "He's back.. They're coming.." and Lyric brings her to her senses, and the angel finally gets it out, finally tells her that there's an apocalypse forming and that Vaarn has been revived. i'm planning on making this a series, and four questions: What animal/being shoul the animal she meets be? I'm thinking maybe a pheonix or something. if it's a normal animal it has to have some special power.okay five: what should the ower be? would you read this? what should i name the eves? I mean like the race- should i keep it as Elves or name them something else? i want there to be something special about Lyric, sommething that makes Vaarn loathe her and want to kill her. What should it be?Considering a wolf... :3@Dash:what exactly do you mean by narrator interruptions? I might go with that Lyric is the reincanation of the woman Vaarn loved, and that she dumped him and went to marry another man or something like that. And I'm thinking maybe Ryder is the reincarnation of the man she married...just an idea moreResolved Question: canadian air travel question?

A United states of North America. North Americans in both Canada and the United States are free and prosperous people, proud of their national histories and achievements – so why should we attempt to change things? One could argue the essential question should not be why, but why not? Why not try to create history by enlarging the nation and generating greater wealth, progression and unity within this diverse continent? You can include Mexico if you please. The economic case for unity is perhaps the easiest and most obvious argument to make, at least in terms of the sheer practical benefits it would provide to the average North American. According to the Economics Department of the Bank of Montreal, "one of the critical benefits of greater economic integration for Canadians [with the US] is the prospect of higher living standards...”. By tearing down obstacles at the Canada-US border put in place by both governments, inevitably this will result in increased trade, which in turn benefits producers and consumers, employers and employees. The main benefactors of borders, by contrast, are those who either profit from lack of competition or those who collect duties, tariffs and other expenses – primarily the governments of Canada and the United States. Just as decreased taxation can actually result in increased tax revenues for governments; elimination of trade restrictions would actually result in increased trade, economic stimulus, further increased government revenues and most importantly, increased prosperity for the average North American. It will give The N. Americans a vast capacity and potential of Enterprise, capital, labour, Land and Resources under large quantities of domestic deposits. North American air, space and sea are already under the aegis of NORAD, a permanent agreement binding the security of Canada and the United States together domestically. Yet, it is clear that we are wasting personnel by spreading our border patrols across the vast 5,500 mile border that Canada and the US share. Removing unnecessary land and sea patrols and rather directing them to protecting airports and Harbour from outside threats would have the doubled effect of enhancing our security and strengthening the free flow of travel and trade between the regions of North America. By not having USNA the overall defensive capability of North America is not enhanced, but rather diminished, by the fact that we continue to have two sets of military and government departments dedicated to our joint internal security. The burden of nearly doubling the administrative costs may have a debatable effect on the security of the continent. Economics and security are often discussed in relation to continental integration, and treaties turn these discussions into realities. Yet, too often the political influence of the US over Canada increases as a result of these agreements while Canadians remain helpless to similarly influence the US. Prosperity and security are almost meaningless if no vehicle exists to make internal changes by democratic initiative; for Canadians, this is increasingly the case. Globalization is not something that can be reversed almost instantly, but the political gap can be overcome if Canadians make their voices heard by sending Canadian congressmen to Washington DC. History and culture are often used as tools to segregate people, promote nationalism and encourage division. This has certainly been the case for the past 250 years of Canadian and US American history. In reality, however, it is our shared history and culture that should unite the people of North America together, not divide. We can adopt the US constitution, it is built to fit in a criteria such as this. Canadians who are worried about loosing universal health care, do not need to, the states have the power to deal with it under the us constitution. Their is no reason why we should exclude the possibility of mexico being a candidate, our government sooner or later will have to deal with mexico's drug problem, a little bit of anthrax smuggled into the US and distributed properly can kill 300,000 Americans. I am not talking about a North-American-Union, it is unconstitutional and not acceptable by any means. We could also buy greenland. I am not in complete support of the idea, i have not explored it that far. What do you guys think? Why? Why not? give me a point, explanation & evidence of "why?".Stop giving me non rational comments, i want a point & explanation. I do not entirely support the clause, but i do want to preserve american sovereignty of the constitution and freedoms. Creating A united states of north america does not mean a welfare state, or an EVIL state that wants to dissolve our constitution and republic. While the political disputes of the 18th Century have long since disappeared, their legacy continues to live on in the form of the border. A United North America would finally heal the wound of the first civil war that divided the people of North America, and bring about a reunion of historical proportions. we can still keep the constitution and freedoms, it just means more states and economic freedoms. moreResolved Question: Driving to but travelling within USA, does my child need a passport?
We live in Canada and are driving across the border to the USA and then flying within the USA. I know that children so not need passports to cross the border by land (but they do by air) but I am not sure if my daughter needs a passport to fly within the USA if she is Canadian. Does my child need a passport? She is 4.We just crossed with them at Sarnia/Port Huron a few months ago and all they needed were birth certificates. Hmmm, I wonder if it is different in Windsor? Maybe the officer was just being lenient on us? Regardless, we decided to get a passport for her (my older child has one) just to be safe. They are not travelling with us but with grandparents so I think it will make things easier. moreVoting Question: physics question help?
Canadian geese migrate essentially along a north-south direction for well over a thousand kilometers in some cases, traveling at speeds up to about 100 km/h. If one such bird is flying at 100 km/h relative to the air, but there is a 50.0 km/h wind blowing from west to east. At what angle relative to the north-south direction should this bird head so that it will be traveling directly southward relative to the ground? How long will it take the bird to cover a ground distance of 450 {\rm km} from north to south? moreResolved Question: Help with Canadian transit visa, travelling from HK to Cayman via Air Canada with connecting flight in Toronto?
Hi, I will travel this month from Manila to HK to Toronto to Cayman Islands. My travel from HK to Toronto to Cayman is via Air Canada. Will I be needing a Canadian transit visa? Please help. Thanks. moreResolved Question: What is your reaction to this?
On this day in the news 660NT* In 2249T*, a large piece of space trash smashed into the Americas, killing thousands and causing widespread destruction and injury. This piece of junk has never been identified. In 3006T, the Plastic Island resort was anchored in the Arcticific Ocean and bridged through the containment dome over what were once a state in the US of A known as Alaska and the Canadian Yukon. The bridge was a sealed radiation-proof chamber using air under pressure for economical travelling to the Arctic Circle for seasonal workers. In 4776T the largest Earth-originated space inhabitant group to colonize an extraterrestial object other than a moon or planet arrived on asteroid D67-550. This consisted of mostly a mining crew to extract the metallic crystalline substance now used for all high level data transfers including teleportation for resubstantiation at an extrosolar location. In 5150, Earth was temporarily evacuated to sustainable pods on nearby Mars for a period of time in which massive insect colonies were irradicated. Some claim that there were reports of billions of underpriviledged, uneducated humans left behind but modern scientists have evidence supporting the theory that they were simply a race of insects resembling roaches that walked upright, had oppsable thumbs, and had developed both spoken and written languages. They were completely unrelated to humans proven by the fact that they had no electronic devices inserted in their brainstems. And finally, in the first year NT, People returned to Earth to reclaim her as their property and once again force order and predictability on nature and chaos. *T=Terra time **AT= atomic Terra time (I can't wait until they discover that NOT ALL 'insects' had been wiped out...stay tuned...)Perfectly attuned to me Dal, that inspired this! moreResolved Question: Canadian geese migrate essentially along a north-south direction for well over a thousand kilometers?

My husband is in the Air Force and we are stationed in Alaska. He will have put in the minimum 3 years here around 15 June next year. I know you are allowed to leave about a month early from that but the problem is that his orders will most likely not be until 4 September due to some training that doesn't start until then at his gaining unit on the East Coast. Well the problem is that we just found out that I'm pregnant with our second child and due 19 May. We will have to travel down the Alaska Canadian Highway if we hope to keep both of our newer vehicles and I am not looking forward to the drive in early August with a barely 2 month old and our current daughter who will be close to two years old. Is there a way to get authorization to PCS early in order to allow me to give birth near his new duty station instead of trekking across the country with a toddler and a newborn (instead of just a pregnant woman and a toddler)? Thank you so much for any help! What I'm wondering if there is a specific form to request authorization. I understand its not likely to be approved but its worth a shot. moreResolved Question: Questions about Passport CARD?
I have never had a Passport (never traveled out of the country). We were looking into going to Niagara Falls, on both the US and Canada sides. From my understanding (which is kind of fuzzy at best), the Passport CARD will allow for us to visit the Canadian side and back to the US, but is a lot less expensive than a Passport book. Is this how a Passport CARD works? We don't plan on any air travel... Can someone please explain the difference between the passport card and passport book?? moreResolved Question: Canadians, ever had to do secondary inspection when crossing the border?
Anyone want to share their experiences with secondary inspections when crossing the Canada/US border? I'm Canadian, from Quebec, and the other day I crossed the border into New York, at the crossing just north of Malone, connecting highways US 30 and QC 138. I got asked to go park my car and come into the office. Kind of surprising, because I've crossed the border many times by land, rail, sea and air and never been asked more than a few quick questions. The border officers inspected my wallet contents, searched my car, and read all the text messages and contact details on my cellular phone. For some reason they were quite interested in a friend of mine whom I frequently exchange text messages with, asking where he was born, how I knew him, etc. They also questioned why I travelled to Toronto so often (as they could see Toronto contacts in my phone) and asked where Gaspé was and why I was planning on going there later this summer. After they were finally satisfied with my identity and that I wasn't a criminal, they finally informed me that the reason I had been flagged was because my car matched the description of a stolen vehicle. I had to then wait while they checked my car's VIN number against their list of stolen vehicles. All in all, I waited there in their office for close to 2 hours, because apparently they were doing their daily computer updates and things were working very slowly. While we were waiting, one of the officers complained about her job, saying she missed the days of working in an airport where things went quicker. She also suggested that if I crossed at a more major border crossing, they would be more lenient. I understand the need to check my VIN, but I don't see what the purpose of the intense interrogation and the wallet/phone inspection was. I just wanted to share my story, and see if anyone has had similar experiences, or wants to share if they've ever had to do the secondary inspection. They're not supposed to discriminate based on ethnicity, but it can't hurt that I'm an upper-middle-class English-speaking white male driving a new-ish well-maintained station wagon...Karen, I'm surprised they didn't ask for vaccination records or something for the dog!I forgot to mention that when they were asking me questions, they asked repeatedly the same thing: do I know anyone in the US, and am I planning on meeting with any of them!@capitalgentleman: I find the CBSA to be less cumbersome, more transparent and more consistent, but that could be just because I'm a Canadian citizen... The only time I had to pull over when re-entering Canada was if I had to pay duty taxes, so I wouldn't exactly call that a secondary inspection, since I just had to fill out a form and pay taxes...they didn't search my car or anything. With Homeland Security, each border crossing seems to have its own personality, and you never know what you're gonna get... moreResolved Question: my wife asked to faxe copy of air ticket then to leave within a month?
im not really sure who can answer this except for someone who has recently reeceived a visa from the immigrations board (in this case the canadian embassy in manila philippine). My wife applied for a visa in August of 2009. After two years of waiting we received a phone call from some lady saying she was from the embassy asking us to purchase a air ticket for my wife to fly to Canada. I was a very happy but a little skeptical but it seemed genuine. So the date of this phone call was June 28th, 2011. And the lady had asked for us to purchase my wifes ticket and fax a copy by no later then July 8th, 2011. As you can imagine I had to scramble to get the funds for not only my wifes air ticket by my ticket also as my wife does not want to travel alone. Anyhow my question is. Has anyone heard of this before being asked to fax a copy of a ticket in this case a weeks time. On a related note. The lady said that she (my wife must leave the PHilippines) no later then August 1, 2011. I didnt bother to ask but i would imagine it had something to do with my wife taking her last medical on August 1, 2010 and im thinking if my wife didn't leave before that date that she may have to take another medical. Anyhow can anyone with a little experience shed some light on this. We have since faxed the copy of air ticket but were told there was no way for us to contact the embassy to follow up which i find very weird and nerve racking. Not only that but the lady gave me the wrong fax number to fax. I know this because she told me to fax (from canada) 011-639-02-885-7192. when i faxed to that number it did not go thru and i dont think 639 is the code number to fax to embassy from canada. I took a chance and dialed 011- 632-885-7192 hoping that she just made a mistake on the code. Anyhow is there anyone out there been in this situation with regards to having to fax a copy of ticket then being told to leave before a certain date. moreResolved Question: I'm thirteen. I will really appreciate it if you guys help meeee!! thank youuu moreVoting Question: USA invaded Iraq for weapons and North Korea tests theres after warning not too and nothing why?
Why is north Korea allowed to have weapons of mass distruction and test them even though they where told not too test them yet Iraq was invaded on an assumption. As a Canadian i feel any and all weapons that can kill hundreds of thousands of people with just a press of a button should be disabled regardless of country. I feel that countries should choose there wars carefully. War know a days is more expensive then back in the day. Back in the day they profited from war by taking your land and everything you owned including you. Know a days we bomb you then feed you and then help you rebuild all with 0% gain and 100% lost. Spend the money on defending and feeding your country and let the enemy spend there resources coming to you. It would be alot cheaper to tighten air zones, imigration, travel etc. Well thats my rant. If i offended some people sorry but i truly don't care. Cheers moreResolved Question: What do I need to go to France on my own?
I am going to Paris with my aunt in 2 weeks. I am traveling alone, from Canada, and I am 14. What kind of documentation will I need? What should I pack for clothes? How much money should I bring? What questions should I ask my aunt about where we're staying (The apartment, the neighborhood[arrondissement], sightseeing plans), and questions I should ask about travel arrangements (Do I need to take the train from the airport to a metro station, is she meeting me at the airport, do I go straight to the apartment she's renting, am I getting a metro pass/metro tickets). What are emergency numbers, where is the nearest hospital/clinic/ER, where is the Canadian embassy, and do you have any friends in the area I can get help from if I need it. And if there's anything else I should ask, or know, please let me know. Also, if you know a website where I can find this info, that would be great. Even a partial answer is great. I would rather have 5 partial answers than 2 almost complete answers. Documentation: I have a passport, and my learner's (I live in Alberta, and it is government issued ID) Clothes: What kind of weather to pack for, specific styles, ect. Money: Just for personal shopping (I might get a spouse card of my mum's visa card), and how much cash should I take out/carry with me. French: I am fairly fluent in french (French from K-8), and I have applications on my ipod, that I've used, and that help (a little). What should I be expecting from customs agents, and which forms (if any) do I need to fill out (My parents usually get these little red forms when we travel to Hawaii, but I'm not sure what they're for, and if I have to fill it out, or if I don't have to talk to customs if I fill it out) Travel: I've traveled on my own, (6 flights, Vancouver to Calgary), and I am fairly comfortable traveling on my own. I have a connecting flight in Toronto (Pearson) on the way to Paris (Charles de Gaulle), and through Montreal (Trudeau) on the way back. I am flying with Air Canada. Will I have to take my luggage back to the check in desk, will I likely be changing terminals (Only a problem for Pearson), and what should I expect if I ask an airport staff member/flight attendant for help. THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR RESPONSE! moreResolved Question: Flight Attendant Question?
I've been a waitress for a while so I'm good with the whole bit about being cool with your "customers" (passengers) and serving. I have a lot of questions! 1) Do you like your job? I heard the schedule is pretty crazy, but you wind up having a bunch of time off every month. 2) Do you really use the benefits the airline provides you with? Cheaper travelling, for example. 3) How's the interview and what do they mainly ask? 4) (This may seem odd, but) What's the age group you usually see? 25 or younger or like 30+. Are these older mothers I'll be working with or young people that just graduated? 5) Do you often get sick because of the time zone changes (lack of sleep) and germs on the plane? 6) Personal-ish question: What degree did you pursue if you pursued one at all? I'm actually looking at graphic design, which has zilch to do with airlines, but I'm mainly looking at becoming a flight attendant if graphic design doesn't work out for me because I'm planning on getting into advertisement, but if there isn't a company out there or good paying jobs, I'm planning on turning to an airline (hopefully Air Canada, I'm Canadian) to hire me. I'm young, I don't have my own family--there's nothing anchoring me down. The closest things I'd have as kids would be my goldfish, Mabel, or my cats. I like to travel (whether I'd be on the plane or using my benefits for cheaper travels). moreResolved Question: Is it legal for Canadians to take 1 bottle of Cuban rum from Canada to US?

I am flying to Italy, then going to Switzerland then France by bus. I really want my passport stamped, so do you think that they will stamp my passport? I know when I went to New York this Easter (I'm Canadian) when I was going through customs I had to ask, the man did it happily, but should I ask in these European countries too? Thanks for your input! :) moreResolved Question: Air Force or Advertisement?
I'm sixteen years old and I'm unsure if I want to go into the (Canadian) Air Force or not. The only other options standing in my way or just graduating and joining up is advertisement. It's easy for me, it's fun, and I'm a pretty creative person. Another HUGE thing standing in my way is Advertisement. I'm always finding a way to make up a better tag line, logo, jingle or slogan for companies and my teachers and classmates find that I'm very strong in working with words and pictures and making things work into some form of persuasion. My ads (graphic design and free-hand) are often deemed very...persuasive. For that class my average is in the high 80s. The Air Force appeals to me because I'd love to serve my country, wear the uniform with pride, get to travel from base to base, country to country (and, no, I'm not saying I'd love to go to a war zone, but if I had to, I would make the best of it), obviously have great benefits, education and whatnot. And, I'm going to throw this in to be honest, I work out a lot (I do like 100 hours of Pilate's a month because in middle school I was really out of shape and now I'm paranoid of going back into a gym-fearing, out-of-shape, just-a-little-on-the-flabby-side girl). But jogging and running is still a pretty hard thing for me. And joining the Air Force scares the bejusus out of me because I'd have a heart attack in basic training probably! But, I'm not looking for an answer to lose weight and get into shape. I'm sixteen, 5'3" and I weigh like 115 pounds, I work out, I TRY to jog, and I watch what I eat (I eat healthy and I don't like going over my limit for calories). moreResolved Question: Do I have the Star Quality/Celebrity Personality?

Even though a guest has completed registration using FUNPASS, it is still the responsibility of the guest to bring all required travel documents. Guest should check with their travel agent and/or government authority to determine the travel documents necessary for each port of call. Any guest without proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of proper travel documentation. CRUISE TRAVEL U.S. Citizens Carnival highly recommends all guests travel with a passport (valid for at least six months beyond completion of travel). Although a passport is not required for U.S. citizens taking cruises that begin & end in the same U.S. port, travelling with a passport enhances your disembarkation experience, as delays may be expected upon your return to the U.S. if you do not have one. Additionally, passports make it easier for you to fly from the U.S. to a foreign port should you miss your scheduled port of embarkation, or need to fly back to the U.S. for emergency reasons. The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) allows U.S. citizens (including children) sailing on cruises that begin and end in the same U.S. port to travel with one of the following WHTI compliant document: Valid U.S. Passport Passport Card Original or suitable quality copy of a Birth Certificate (Issued by the department of vital statistics) Certificate of Naturalization Trusted Traveler Program Membership Card, e.g., Nexus Card, Sentri Card or Fast Card Enhanced Tribal Card A Consular Report of Birth Abroad Enhanced Driver's License (EDL) Note: Enhanced Driver's Licenses can be used as proof of citizenship at land and sea ports of entry. However, it cannot be used to travel by air outside the United States. Will Air Canada let me on the plane? Urgent!?
Hey, I am going to be visiting Australia for a year on a Working Holiday Visa. I am a Canadian citizen. I want to get to Australia, and buy my return ticket or onward ticket AFTER I arrive, as I can't know for sure what day I will be leaving Australia. I already know that you may have to prove you have the funds for an onward ticket out of Australia upon arrival, but my question is, do I need to have a return ticket/have proof of funds for a return ticket before I am allowed to catch the flight out of Canada? The airline I will be traveling with is Air Canada. I don't want to get to the airport and suddenly be told I am not allowed to get on the flight due to not having a return ticket. So, can I actually make it onto the plane out of Canada on a one-way ticket with my Working Holiday Visa? It might be worth mentioning I might be attempting to go through the process of a de-facto relationship visa during my stay so that I can stay permanently. moreResolved Question: Coming to Australia from Canada on a Working Holiday Visa. I'm flying with Air Canada from London (UK) to San Francisco. There's a stop/change in Vancouver. Naturally I'm excited about it, so I was checking out things like meals on their website, where they say this: International travel When you travel on a direct* international flight that includes a stop in a Canadian city, you will be offered a complimentary snack and a complimentary meal item on the domestic portion of your flight. For example, if you're travelling from Toronto to Hong Kong with a stop in Vancouver, your complimentary snack and meal will be offered to you on the Toronto-Vancouver portion of your itinerary. A code (PR07 or SPML) is printed on your boarding pass indicating that you are travelling on both the domestic and international portions of the flight. * In the aviation industry, a direct flight is defined as any flight between two places that carries a single flight number, but which may include one or more stops where you do not have to change planes. Please note that complimentary food service is not available on the domestic portion of connecting flights, which have different flight numbers for each portion of your itinerary. Does this mean they're willing to let me go the 9 hour flight (from 10am GMT) without any food or drink?! Or that they will charge me for it? Or what? I'm not experienced with long-haul flights at all. moreResolved Question: Girls only, what do you think about a guy like me?

Now I accuse her of being a scammer and con artist, She sent me the booking confirm email when she purchased the ticket there, She wants me to check it out if I don't believe her, Is there a way to tell if its a fake , It has the numbers of the ticket and info and pictures, the delta airlines and the Nigerian air plane stuff , it looks legit, She cant go back now and is staying at a friends place. Can some one give me their email so I can forward you the confirm booking the sent email she forwarded to me to check if its authentic, Or is there a service that can check into this for you if you pay them and you forward names and online documents? The 1920s and 1930s are often portrayed as an era of a booming Canadian entertainment industry, technology and a successful time for the women of Canada. It’s the decade that started the transformation of the Canadian society into what it is today. However, the 1920’s seem to be the better decade and the beginning of it all. It was the time of new advances in film and music, new inventions and new fashion trends that rebelled against regular clothing. In the 1920s, Canadian entertainment was up-and-coming. Jazz was becoming very popular in the early 1920s because of its fast, upbeat tune. Many refer to the 20s as ‘The Jazz Age’ because it was the turning point of music for the Canadian society. Famous jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong, and Duke Ellington and Bessie Smith helped evolve the music scene over a number of years. New enthusiastic, daring dances such as ‘The Turkey Trot’, ‘The Charleston’ and ‘The Black Bottom’ were made along with this kind of music. These types of dance and music were originated from the African Americans. Many adults objected to these dances because they thought it was outrageous. Movies from the 1920s were silent, no speaking; however organs or sound effects were used. Most silent films were comedies because it was easy to represent the humour with actions. However, in the 30s, the depression came along. The Canada didn’t have a feature film industry so they watched American movies. These movies appealed to the public more because they were ‘fantasy’ movies. It made the audience feel distant from the depression and society. The music of the 30s was also different too. The ‘Big Band Sound’ became popular and songs about hard times were sung. The 1930s were also the years that the African Americans made their way into the Music Industry. All kinds of technology were emerging in the 1920s such as Telephones, Cars, Air travel and Radio. Telephones with dials first made their appearance around the early 1920s in Toronto. Telephones were advancement in Canadian technology because you could easily talk to someone without having to go to see them; it shrank distance. By 1929, the telephone became extremely popular. Cars were also a great invention of the 20s because it made travelling easier. The first car was made by Ford, which is still a car company today. Cars were wonderful because they made it possible to travel long distances, let farmers bring in their goods to sell, and since people could drive long distances, Canadian tourism benefited from outsiders. After World War 1, there were many Canadian pilots who wanted to keep flying, so in 1924 the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) was created. A few years later in 1927, planes started transporting people. Last but not least, Radio. The first radio was invented in the 1800s but didn’t start using them until the early 1920s. Radios were a way of connecting with family. They brought people from all around the country together. The only reason why Canadians were investing so much money on radios was because they were feeling confident at this time of prosperity, but that was all about to change. In the 30s, many Canadians were listening to American broadcasts, and for Canada to keep its culture the CRBC (Canadian Radio Broadcasting Corporation) was created. It strictly had Canadian content played. Not many new inventions were made because Canada was in the midst of a depression. Fashion trends in the 20s and 30s were very similar. They varied from short haircuts to long skirts, and tailcoats. The most popular style in the 20s was the ‘Flapper’ look. The flappers were young women who dressed opposing to how a lady was supposed to be dressed back in those days. They were not ashamed of showing their skin. They revealed their backs, calves, ankles and knees as they rebelled against society! Before the 20s, only rich people could afford the more ‘elegant’ look. Now that a new style was coming out, many women could now afford it and others could now make their own clothes at home. Men’s fashion was very plain. They mostly wore ties; two toned shoes and rarely went outside without hats. They wore trousers and tailcoats with top hats to special events. As the 30s came along, women began to leave behind the ‘boyish’ look and went for more elegant clothes that showed off their silhouettes. In conclusion, the 1920s were a better decade than the 1930s because of it’s advancing technology, improving entertainment industry and stylish fashion trends. ^finish this off please. best answer will get chosen asap.byDanait.M moreResolved Question: Have you ever traveled to a destination that feels more like home than the place of your birth?
I was just wondering if some people have ever travelled to a destination (nation/city) that felt more like home to them than that of their place of birth. For me personally, my family are from Scotland, and my Mom and Dad moved to Canada in the 80's then had my sister and I a few years later. I've been to Scotland 3 times in my life, the first when I was a baby, and the last being just a couple of months back. I can't honestly explain it but it is a place that feels so much like home to me. The people, the landscapes, the air, just everything. I have never been more content and at peace than I am when I've been there. I know it is one thing to go on holiday and have a good time, and that actually moving there and living there is an entirely different conversation in itself. There are always good and bad sides to every nation I suppose. I personally don't drink so I don't know how I would take to life in Scotland, but as I said, there is just a feeling I can't explain. It honestly feels like home. While saying that, I am so proud to be Canadian and I love my home nation but at the same time I don't honestly feel a great deal for the city I live in, Calgary. The way I view Calgary is that it is primarily a place to come and work and make money. There isn't a great sense of community and I suppose you could even say it is a lonely city, transfixed on oil, money, and business. Probably the best aspect to living in Calgary is the surrounding landscapes, the Rocky Mountains, and the Bow River. There isn't much of an appreciation for art and music here in Calgary but in saying all that I've got a job and some sort of financial security, so like I've said, there are always good and bad aspects to living in a particular city/nation. The only other place I could see myself living in Canada is maybe the East or West coasts but they have their own issues as well I suppose, so who knows. I was mainly just curious if anyone else has sort of had similar experiences with travel or felt similarly about their city or nation. Let me know! moreResolved Question: Vancouver International Airport Gift Shops - HELP!!?

A few weeks ago, Transport Canada and hundreds of airline passengers across Canada dodged another bullet with the cessation of regular domestic flights by Canjet Airlines. Unlike Jetsgo, which slunk off into financial oblivion without notice, leaving ticketed passengers in the lurch, Canjet arranged for an orderly departure from their service operations. But Canjet didn’t have to be careful in closing down its operations. Like Jetsgo, it could have abandoned passengers to the vagaries of credit card charge backs and travel protection fund schemes in place in only three provinces. For consumers and the travel agencies that serve consumers, that is not right. The chief obstacle to fixing this problem is the uniform approach of Transport Canada to the regulation of airlines that supposes that the marketplace can police all industry issues such as financial viability of airlines and compensation for jilted passengers. It is unfortunately an approach that ignores the realities of the passenger airline market. Customers can’t be expected to do a financial analysis of airline operations to determine solvency before purchasing a ticket. Airline financiers should not be able to skip out the door, potentially leaving the industry stakeholders with fewest resources, namely passengers and travel agents who contribute to provincial compensation funds to foot the bill. Government indifference to consumer issues will not produce a flourishing competitive domestic market for airline travel. The current amendments to the Canadian Transportation Act, Bill C-11, now before the House of Commons Standing Committee do make a tentative first step towards consumer protection. These amendments allow the Minister to make regulations to deal with air carriers that advertise flights at one price, then charge a much higher price in the actual ticket sale after all the mandatory charges and fees are added in. But more is needed to provide a minimum package of passenger safeguards. By all means, consumers should have the right to fly on their airline of choice. But unless they have the information about airline financial and operational performance, how can they be expected to make a choice? The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at least requires collection and publication of data on customer problems such as airline flight delays, mishandled baggage and oversold flights, the kind of information that is useful in choosing an airline. The abolition of the office the Airlines Consumer Complaints Commissioner, as contemplated by Bill C-11, will also hardly improve passenger welfare, without the implementation of a more proactive response, currently missing from the legislation. Bill C-11, currently before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Transportation and Communications, represents a unique opportunity to address the gaps in Transport Canada’s oversight, by giving the Minister the power and responsibility to monitor airline financial and operational performance. Through amendments to Bill C-11, it is possible to adopt measures that would bolster consumer confidence and promote competition by ensuring a stable market with transparent and measurable standards applicable across the Board. A coalition of travel industry and consumer groups, styled the Travel Protection Initiative (TPI), has been working for the last two years to modernize the Transport Canada’s rather blasé supervision of the passenger interest in airline regulation. The TPI package of reforms responds directly to the existing industry problems identified above. The TPI-urged response is hardly revolutionary, but its adoption would earn parliamentarians the continuing gratitude of passengers and travel professionals across Canada. moreResolved Question: Freedom of press in America?
Now don't get me wrong because I am an American so this isn't going to be America bashing,it is going to be me worrying about America. A wise man said to me once in Peru that if a person wants to know what his/hers countries governments are doing then the best idea is to travel outside of his/hers country and go to an unbiased country and watch the news and read the books.I have since done that.I have traveled to 22 countries and have learned many things that America has done or is doing that the citizens in America who can't travel will probably never know about. One big one is the war in Laos.I was never taught anything in school about it nor had I ever seen anything on TV about it.I can't say it has never been talked about but it sure wasn't on headline news.I learned about it from a Canadian documentary film maker.I have since traveled to Laos and have seen with my own eyes the moon scape to this day that 50 years ago was lush rain forest.Everyone knows about the secret war outside America but I did not find one person when I went home that knew about it other than my friend who talked about the Mel Gibson comedy movie 'Air America'.Also,I remember in the beginning of the Iraq war Fox news talking how we were bombing Aljazzera news centers in Iraq because it was terrorist propaganda.I asked some of my friends about it and they all said things about men with towels on their heads screaming death to America on Aljezzera.Everywhere in the world has-at least-English Aljezzera-even Israel- and it is exactly like CNN or BBC.Most all of the news anchors are westerners coming from Canada,America and England. But in America only 2 cities in the whole country have it because sometimes they say things the American government does not want us to hear. One more was that worried was and you can look at this website 'Wesley Clark: The Guy Who Almost Started World War III' when he ordered the British general to attack Russian soldiers at Pristina airport in Kosovo.Luckily, the British general said no way.I never saw that on Fox news.I could go on with example upon example of truths I have learned since traveling but it would take a week to write. My whole point is that it worries me that our government is doing exactly what it says only other governments do while leaving the masses of America who don't have the opportunity to travel in ignorant bliss. How many of you know about the 3 examples I have talked about?Quote from NPR. "The war ended 35 years ago, but left a deadly legacy. The U.S. military dropped more than 1.6 million tons of bombs on Laos during the war in Vietnam. That’s more bombs than it dropped on all of Europe during World War II, making Laos the most heavily bombed country in the world on a per capita basis." moreTop Canadian Air Travel Links
