Economy Air Travel Questions asked

Resolved Question: Is the military right for me?

Ive thought and have been thinking about joining the military ( Air Force ) for a while. Im in college currently, 1 class away from getting my AA degree in English. My plans were to transfer to a university but for me to do so I had to take out student loans. Being in debt for so much money, and not guaranteed a job in this economy is nerve wrecking, and for me to get a loan I am required to have a co-signer, my parents do not want to co-sign for me ( so much for having supportive parents right? lol ). I am a person that is goal orientated, have much ambition and have a desire to hold a career, make a difference and even travel. I want to make my life an adventure and for many years now numerous people have held me down from being happy and achieving my dreams., I just got myself out of an abusive 6 year relationship, it was a nightmare but now I am free thank God :) My outlook on life is different and I want to make the best of it, and the military is an option I have as a proud American. I am VERY patriotic, and find that being an American alone is such a privilege that many people take for granted... and I love the USA! The thought of being a female in the military is intimidating, and BMT sounds scary!! As I am not very atheletic and I cannot do pull ups lol ( are pull ups required to graduate?????? ) What would you say are the pros and cons of being the Air Force? Would you recommend it for someone like me, based on what Ive shared?? Are there any advantages since I have 72 college units? For those you who have joined the military would you share some youre experience so far how you feel on youre decision of joining the military? Have you been able to travel much? Also what kind of jobs would be available for me? Thanks in advance for youre answers :) more

Resolved Question: How do you view this ""Inspirational Message""?

""Inspirational ! Power of Money, By Adam Khoo ( Singapore 's youngest millionaire at 26 yrs.) Some of you may already know that I travel around the region pretty frequently, having to visit and conduct seminars at my offices in Malaysia , Indonesia , Thailand and Suzhou ( China ). I am in the airport almost every other week so I get to bump into many people who have attended my seminars or have read my books. Recently, someone came up to me on a plane to KL and looked rather shocked. He asked, 'How come a millionaire like you is traveling economy?' My reply was, 'That's why I am a millionaire. ' He still looked pretty confused. This again confirms that greatest lie ever told about wealth (which I wrote about in my latest book 'Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires' ). Many people have been brainwashed to think that millionaires have to wear Gucci, Hugo Boss, Rolex, and sit on first class in air travel. This is why so many people never become rich because the moment that earn more money, they think that it is only natural that they spend more, putting them back to square one. The truth is that most self-made millionaires are frugal and only spend on what is necessary and of value. That is why they are able to accumulate and multiply their wealth so much faster. Over the last 7 years, I have saved about 80% of my income while today I save only about 60% (because I have my wife, mother in law, 2 maids, 2 kids, etc. to support). Still, it is way above most people who save 10% of their income (if they are lucky). I refuse to buy a first class ticket or to buy a $300 shirt because I think that it is a complete waste of money. However, I happily pay $1,300 to send my 2-year old daughter to Julia Gabriel Speech and Drama without thinking twice. When I joined the YEO (Young Entrepreneur' s Orgn) a few years back (YEO) is an exclusive club open to those who are under 40 and make over $1m a year in their own business) I discovered that those who were self-made thought like me. Many of them with net worth well over $5m, travelled economy class and some even drove Toyota 's and Nissans, not Audis, Mercs, BMWs. I noticed that it was only those who never had to work hard to build their own wealth (there were also a few ministers' and tycoons' sons in the club) who spent like there was no tomorrow. Somehow, when you did not have to build everything from scratch, you do not really value money. This is precisely the reason why a family's wealth (no matter how much) rarely lasts past the third generation. Thank God my rich dad foresaw this terrible possibility and refused to give me a cent to start my business. Then some people ask me, 'What is the point in making so much money if you don't enjoy it?' The thing is that I don't really find happiness in buying branded clothes, jewellery or sitting first class. Even if buying something makes me happy it is only for a while, it does not last. Material happiness never lasts, it just give you a quick fix. After a while you feel lousy again and have to buy the next thing which you think will make you happy. I always think that if you need material things to make you happy, then you live a pretty sad and unfulfilled life. Instead, what makes me happy is when I see my children laughing and playing and learning so fast. What makes me happy is when I see my companies and trainers reaching more and more people every year in so many more countries. What makes me really happy is when I read all the emails about how my books and seminars have touched and inspired someone's life. What makes me really happy is reading all your wonderful posts about how this blog is inspiring you. This happiness makes me feel really good for a long time, much much more than what a Rolex would do for me. I think the point I want to put across is that happiness must come from doing your life's work (be it teaching, building homes, designing, trading, winning tournaments etc.) and the money that comes is only a by-product.""" more

Resolved Question: Moving from Morgantown, WV to San Antonio, TX?

OK, so I have a lease in Morgantown, WV that's going to be up at the end of May 2011, and I've decided several months ago I want to move to San Antonio, TX... I was down there several months ago on vacation and really liked it. Plus, when I compared the Cost of Living, several sites had San Antonio cheaper than Morgantown (I couldn't believe it!) Anyway, the only possessions I have worth taking are my laptop, iPhone, clothes and linens, a box of DVDs, a small box of books, an air mattress (which I have a feeling will come in handy at first), a TV, DVD player, PS2, and a few other small (yet sentimental) possessions. Everything is going into my car (an 01 4 dr Saturn SL1) My questions are... How soon should I look for an apartment/job? I was thinking 6 months in advance, start apartment hunting by making phone calls and taking a week off to go down there and check them out... and about 1-3 months in advance of job hunting. I don't mind working odd jobs at first. How much should I save? Since I am "traveling light", I plan on saving anywhere from $3K-$5K (target $4K) to move... you know, in case I can't find a job when I first get there (what an economy! woo!) Any/all advice you all can provide me would be MUCH MUCH appreciated. I will be glad to clarify/follow-up as needed. more

Resolved Question: Could anyone correct my mistakes please?

The article “The spread of counterfeiting: Knock-offs catch on" from The Economist described the impact of counterfeiting on economy and how the fake goods spread quickly all over the world. Fake goods can be found everywhere. In several examples, The Economist points out that NASA has bought suspicious equipment and the number of counterfeit parts in military electronics systems more than doubled. Moreover artificial gold found in German’s bank or fake porches and Ferraris on Bangkok’s streets. According to the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition, fake goods make up 5-7% of world trade and are worth somewhere between $250-600 billion. Besides that the article mentioned the reasons of the growth of counterfeiting in recent years. Among them are: shift of world manufacturing to the countries with poor protection from counterfeiting, internet that makes it a lot easier to trade goods and recession in rich countries. Because of growth of counterfeiting a lot of companies are making losses. In order to overcome problem of large number of fake goods companies are using more and more sophisticated technologies such as holograms, special inks, watermarking or radio-frequency identification. The most successful method is so called “genetic markers”, made to be incorporated into the packaging or product itself, as well as online “brand-protection” agencies. A treaty called the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is expected to be released in order to strengthen controls on piracy. There might be a problem to enforce the treaty in China, since 80% of the world’s counterfeit goods are produced there. Basically, the article “The Cost of Europe's Volcanic-Ash Travel Crisis” from Times, describes the impact of the volcanic ash cloud on the air transport industry. The volcanic ash cloud that grounded planes across Europe last month, has caused chaos and losses to the airlines. Europe's biggest tour operator, TUI Travel, is facing losses of $30 million, which is increasing by $9 million a day. According to the ACI group, the volcanic ash cloud has cost European airport around $183 million. Due to the global financial crisis, travel business had bad time and volcano eruption made it even worse. It caused disruptions in global trade, since a lot of goods traded are transported using air planes. Some food and flowers businesses will be affected by the inability to export their product. It may impact especially Spain which export large amount of products and Kenyan growers that are facing a loss of about $2 million a day. More of the world's commerce may be carried by road, rail or sea, therefore the effect on the wider economy, is not expected to be as great. And as long as the disruption is not too long, this should not be a big problem. more

Resolved Question: Do you agree this warning from NASA about the sun disrupting power grids, travel, communication, is cover for?

Resolved Question: what flights you have taken for go to australia?

Hello, one of my next goals is Australia and I can not wait to go. For the moment I am monitoring the prices of flights. From start easily reach the international airports of Rome, Frankfurt and Paris because there are several flights daily. Consequently, I have several choices such as Sky Team, Star Alliance and One World. If I had linked directly to London Heathrow would have more possibilities. I'd like take Qantas and there is a direct flight from Frankfurt to Sydney (it makes a technical stop in Singapore). In fact I'll see what I can find the best price. But back to the question: I wish to know what was your experience of flights you have taken to go to Australia. I would like to know the following information for feedback: 1) How much did you pay the ticket? 2) When did you go? 3) What s the company s air / and you've got and what flights you made? For example, Milan and Singapore with Singapore Airlines, Singapore-Sydney with Qantas .. 4) How have you found with / the company / and air / and you've got? The suitcases have lost them there? How long aveate during one or more stopovers? 5) Where you purchased the ticket? For example, the company's web site, web Expedia, eDreams, etc.., Travel agency For the moment the best price it offers Air China about 1060 euros per person. But I would like to fly the new A380 and I wish fly with Singapore Airlines, Qantas or Emirates could choose two outer seats in the upper deck economy cabin. Can I find a good price? I think so. Obviously I have to do this book on the official website of the airline, which is my habit to do, so I can choose my place to check in online, etc.. Then it is clear that bad luck can happen at any time, but to book a flight with less than 2 hours of call, well, it means find it themselves!! PS : Why many people says : forget Qantas, its bad company!? Thanks in advance more

Resolved Question: Which military service will better suit me?Air force or Army?

Alright, so which one is better? I have around 70 college credit hours but haven't been able to get my degree due to the fact I changed my major once. I want to become a civil engineer. Right now the economy stinks and finding a job has been really difficult. I still need 8 or so classes to get my AA but at the moment I feel like joining the military, like I said the job market is horrible and with out a job I can't play for classes. So which of the two would offer better opportunities? I know military pay is not THAT great but its something. Plus, I will have the chance to do some traveling and college will probably be paid for. So which one is it?Please give your reasons. more

Resolved Question: Help with conclusion on slow foods/ local foods?

I am doing a speech on local foods help with conclusion? I dont have one yet Slow Foods, Local Foods “Slow Food aims to be everything fast foods is not” USA Today. These words just about sum up what everyone believes Slow Foods it about, actually it’s much more. Slow Foods is more than a way of eating, it’s a lifestyle. This lifestyle connects our food consumption and lifestyle elements around us. Slow Foods is now a global movement with thousands of members around the world. These members link the delight of food with their commitment to the community and the environment. If you were to look at any produce at any store here in Hawaii, you would probably see Made in Mexico, Made in California, or Made in Chili. Can you believe that that tomato you’re eating traveled 3,980 miles just so you could devoured it? People have gone so far with food, and now its time to backtrack. We need to go back to our roots, gardens at home, and the local markets, you may not think that this could impact our world but it can, and with your help it will. Slow Food aims to counter fast life, as in fast food restaurants and industrialized foods. Fast life has led to thousands of irreplaceable local traditional restaurants, all because industrialized foods are easy to package. Fast life has a major impact on the environment, all those planes, barges, and factory processing and shipping food all over the world. Basically Slow foods is promoting local farmers markets and all local food. They are trying to tell us, “Hey stop buying that stuff from Mexico and who knows where. Start helping your environment, and eat foods from where you live for a change!” These people are right. Do you know why food costs so much in Hawaii? Because it has to travel so far; to travel you need gas, to have gas you need money. That money they need is coming straight out of your pocket. 80-90% of food in the state of Hawaii is imported, think about that next time you eat a tomato. Imagine if only 50% was imported or 40%, most of the food you see in grocery stores would be local. If everyone in the island of Hawaii went out to a local farmers market and bought their weeks worth of food there, not only would you be promoting Slow Food and local food, you would have helped the environment greatly. Think about it 148,677 people all buying locally grown food, that would take a huge weight off the environment. Your probably thinking, so what? I can just go to Costco and get everything I need. Well eating local mean more for the local economy. For every dollar you spend locally it produces twice as much income for the local economy. Whereas buying at a non-local place such as Costco, the money leaves our community every time someone buys something. Local food is almost always fresher that imported foods, when you shop at supermarkets the produce have been sitting there for days, or even weeks. When you buy local the produce has probably been picked within the day before. Eating local is better for air quality and pollution. Believe it or not, eating organic isn’t like eating local, organic foods still travel thousands of miles to get to you. Whereas any local food could be from your neighbors backyard and only have to travel a couple of steps. more

Voting Question: Would anyone be willing to read my essay?

The essay is on going green, and i would like someone to double check it. (: Being green! Living green! Going green! When the word “green” is presented, you may conclude to trees, grass, or any wildlife. This is why the term “going green” is subjected to being environment friendly. Being eco-friendly is so important for you, the environment and the creatures around you. There are countless ways that you can get into the sport of treating the economy with respect. By helping, we can all make a difference around the world. With our assistance, we can make mother earth a healthier place for the environment and the creatures around it. What happens to the environment affects the animals surrounding it. Global warming, greenhouse gasses, destruction of forests, pollution of oceans, air and land are all harming the environment that animals depend on to live. All of these factors are polluting a creature’s natural habitat making life difficult for survival. A well aware issue is the polar bears habitat melting due to global warming. When the ice bergs melt, the polar bear is left with nothing to rely on and eventually may drown or starve. When an animal’s habitat is polluted, the animal is harmed as well. Many sorts of junk is being dumped or thrown in lakes, ponds, and oceans. This forces the marine animals out of their homes, which may lead them to death. There are many other incidents of animals being forced out of their homes due to pollution, possibly leading to extinction. Earths creatures are becoming extinct as a consequence of humans. As mentioned before, greenhouse gases are leading polar bears and many other animals to extinction. If we do not stop these actions, millions of other species could be affected and could eventually die out. There are hundreds of causes for this catastrophe that is happening to our economy. Cars that run on fuel contribute greatly. These cars release a terrible gas into the air, which is one of the most horrible sorts of pollution. Despite this, there is many ways to avoid vehicles that run on fuel. One possible option is an electric car, which does not incorporate fuel. Another option is to simply reduce the frequency of using your vehicle. You may ride a bike or take a walk; there is many different ways to travel. Another ponderous event is simple littering. Many human beings are becoming more apathetic as the years go by, and because of this they may become lazy enough to throw out their own garbage. We have all done it, even if we persist not to. However, this issue is not fine. We must learn that if an item can be reduced, reused, or recycled, that we can help contribute to the environment. It is said that us humans are what has made mother earth a junkyard, so we must save our planet. Reduce, reuse, and recycle are three small worlds that make a big difference in our society. You may have an empty plastic water bottle. Instead of having this bottle end up in a landfill, you could simply recycle it or even reuse it. There are many ways to rework a plain bottle; with some imagination you may work something amazing. Even before you bought the plastic bottle, you could have spared it by buying a reusable one instead. Another useful way to go green is by planting trees, or even seeding a small garden. The more seeds are planted, the more oxygen is produced from them. When we cut down trees, the carbon dioxide we breathe is shortened; therefore, this is an excellent way to be green. Being eco-friendly will help you, the environment and all living things have a better society to live in. If our mother earth will be too polluted, the animals will become extinct; the plants will die, eventually leading us to our deaths. However this is not necessary at all, not unless we make a change of our actions now. There are hundreds of ways we may help our environment be as it once was, and we must think of the future generations living on the same planet. If everyone on our earth is aware of this issue, we can join hands and work together to make this a healthy place for everyone. more

Resolved Question: Whty are Democrats putting a "Job Bill" label on everything they are trying to pass?

Do they think Americans won't know that "Once Again" Democrtas are trying to pass off Bull Sh** as real help for the unemployed? Democratic lawmakers insist they are tackling the job crisis, even as they push forward other, unrelated parts of their agenda. Democrats promoted the recently passed health care bill as a measure that would add jobs to the economy and they relabeled the Senate global warming and energy bill the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act. The climate bill's main sponsor, Sen. Resolved Question: Why are libertarians the only ones who take note of monetary history?

http://www.moneyweek.com/investments/why-paper-money-systems-all-fail-13941.aspx "You can't blame the king of Persia for printing up money no one could trust. His neighbours in China were doing the same, after all, and with the same inevitable consequences, too..." Creating money from nothing to try and keep the economy stoked is far from a modern invention. Mistaking extra money for value is a common enough event throughout history, in fact, right from the 99% debasement of Roman coins in the second and third centuries AD to the paper hyper-inflation of Weimar Germany in the 1920s. The horrors which excessive money then spawns are a regular feature as well. Yet politicians and potentates still believe they can out-do the ancients... somehow plucking wealth from thin air with better success than everyone else. Most often in history, this futile attempt meant inking a state-decreed value onto the pulp of dead trees. Seven hundred and fourteen years ago, for instance, the kingdom of Persia suffered just such a government-made surfeit of money after the harsh winter of AD 1294. Thousands of cattle and sheep had died in what's now Kazakhstan. So many thousands, in fact, it emptied the king's treasury of much-needed tax revenues. The king responded by printing great quantities of "chao" - a Chinese word for the paper money first invented almost three centuries before. And "on 13th August 1294," says a mid-20th century history, "a proclamation imposed the death penalty on all who refused to accept the new currency. "Considerable quantities of chao were then prepared and put into circulation on 12th September." The experiment lasted scarcely two months, as Glyn Davies explains in his magisterial History of Money. "[It] turned out to be a complete disaster, with the bazaars deserted and trade at a standstill." You can order people to accept money on pain of death, in other words, but you can't then make them buy and sell with it - if only because they might choose instead simply to stop buying and selling altogether! But making money from nothing looked such a great trick at the time, who can blame the Persians for trying? "In this city of Kanbula is the mint of the grand Khan, who may truly be said to possess the secret of the alchemists, as he has the art of producing paper money..." So wrote Marco Polo in his famous Travels (1275-1292), reporting on the magic of Mongol currency in China - a magic which the kingdom of Persia merely sought to repeat. And to his readers back in Venice, Polo's story of making real money from paper must have seemed just as fantastic as his stories of three-headed monsters and eight-legged gods. "When ready for use, [the Khan] has this paper cut into pieces of money of different sizes...[and] the coinage of this paper money is authenticated with as much form and ceremony as if it were actually of pure gold or silver." Gold and silver were of course money back then. Limited by metal-mining supplies, people trusted their value - both as a means of exchange and a store of purchasing power for the future. But provided the Great Khan didn't issue more paper than he had gold and silver to back it, all would go swimmingly. So long as he restricted any excess of paper, in fact, he might hope to prevent it collapsing in value when the rice-paddy peasants caught onto his wheeze. "This paper currency is circulated in every part of the grand Khan's dominions," the Italian traveller went on, "nor dares any person - at the peril of his life - refuse to accept it in payment... With it, in short, every article may be procured... All his majesty's armies are paid with this currency, which is to them of the same value as if it were gold or silver. "Upon these grounds, it may certainly be affirmed that the grand Khan has a more extensive command of treasure than any other sovereign in the universe." Alas! These great riches sunk under their own weight again - just as they had three times or more since being invented sometime around 1032. They needed repeated re-valuation and fresh paper issues right through to the final collapse in the late-15th century, by which time the 1448 Ming note was worth just 0.3% of its apparent face value. Still, after some 400 hundred years of trying and failing, at least the Chinese emperors finally latched on. Paper money and the inflation it brought wasn't used in the Middle Kingdom again until the early 20th century.Don't read it then. Just know that's the reason everybody is so unaware of what is about to happen.Paper money hasn't ever worked anywhere. Everywhere and in every period it has been tried, it has failed. Including the continental dollar that funded the Revolutionary War more

Resolved Question: how do you explain unemployment gaps?

so I was a ad sales pro for about 9 years, left and went to work for a tourism company which I got let go after 9 month due to the economy and down turn in the tourism industry. I've been unemployed since July 09, I just assumed I would be at another job by now, but as days, weeks, and now months have passed it's still up in the air, I am starting to look for some volunteer activities and may do some substitute teaching, but in the mean time when i do get an interview how would you suggest I explain this 9 month and counting layoff? In the mean time what I've been doing is reading up on social media marketing, I've done some traveling, and I have committed to a workout program that has netted me 15lbs off my current weight, though I just don't think that is a good enough explanation. Help please! thanks! more

Resolved Question: what do you thing about my essay?

When boarding the air-plane to Africa, I began to put together my thoughts on Botswana in sub-Saharan Africa. It was very disturbing to think that one-in-four adults are infected and living with HIV. It is troublesome to me because Botswana’s population ranges below the two million mark, or 23.9% this is the highest after Swaziland. The number show that the life expectancy in Botswana in 1990-1995 range from the ages of 65 to the less than 40 in 2000-2005. This is about 26 years difference of in the two age groups. This great loss of life, also this creates a lack of productive adults. Through the great expense of HIV and Aids medical care. Families are becoming impoverished and this puts stress on the local economy. The output of Botswana productions has been lowered do to the workers loss of skilled workers, effecting the mining and agricultural. These facts have shown me that it is important that I travel to the really of Botswana. Upon arrival to Gaborone, the capital of Botswana, I met with former President Festus Mogae. In his addres to the UN, former President Festus Mogae gave great insight as how to help the people of Botswana. Botswana, was one of the first Africa countries to give antiretroviral drugs to all sickened citizens. This treatment was successful and became an example for many other African nations to come. The President went on to say that even with access to this treatment the country continues to suffer from AIDS. He also strongly stated that if there was a way to rid this epidemic, Botswana has to some how find a way to stop the spread of HIV. When I left the President my mind continued to dwell on my next destination. I finally arrived at the clinic, and met up with a health care technicians. They told me how they faced so many challenges day after day. This helped me understand a real life message on how on how HIV needs to be exposed by educating the young people especially young women. This is because the women out number the men that have HIV. Such as programs about condom distribution, targeting high risk population, blood safety, and prevention to mother-to-child transmission. I then met with a doctor who explained to me different perspectives of HIV/AIDS. The Doctor stated startling statistics. In Africa alone there was more then 25 million deaths from AIDS in Africa. That shock me because it killed so many people. After interviewing these Doctors and technicians this gave helped me understand of how important it was for me to actually hear it from the a real sources. The reasons why AID is pandemic in Africa is because of the lack of information about sex, also people don’t get tested enough in Africa. There isn't that many good program to help with AID awareness like how to put on a condoms correctly. They also do not have pharmacies on the corner to buy condoms to prevent them for get AID. Men in Africa make their woman have sex with them without allowing them. Also they don’t have enough money to buy the drug to stopped the disease more

Resolved Question: what career path is best for me?

At 40 I am making a caeer change but it is so hard to decide I have taken numerous career tests and they all come back to what I have done and burned out. my likes are travel, working by myself, My start time my dislikes are manual labor, being tied to the same spot all day everyday I am a restless person, I am likeable person.Office politics get on my nerves and the people are so fake. i can't do it anymore. In the manual labor field, people have no amition and try to one up everybody else and expect you to believe they slept with 10 girls the night before and smoked a pile of weed 3 feet high. You raise your hand to go to the restroom like a child. A buzzer rings when you stop and start work like robots. my history of employment includes- Air traffic controller (US Navy) after i got out I worked foundries and steel mills went to school for drafting all of these I did not like. Went back to school again for Computer science/technician did this for years working my way up the ranks doing field service repair to small to medium sized business networks. I moved on to Network Administrator to director of MIS. Career was going great I was the boss controlled 4 locations then September 11th happened the company I was at went out of business in the wake of this. A felony record of mine from years before for an assault popped only had probation never jail. This conviction never bothered me in the past, I had changed my ways and went to college in the mean time. Searching for employment I was turned down many times with my salary was to high I would never be happy at what they could give me, or the worst one my assault conviction. Seems I am blacklisted from working for anybody. So I decided to go get my CDL until things could change and I could support my family. I wrecked my semi and decided that wasnt the best career goal for me, so I decided to go back to information technology. no one was raising their hand to hire me so I started contracting and after about a year of this I found a good steady contract. I loved it!!! I did Field Service repair in Hospitals. The only downfall it was 24/7 work but I didnt mind I was paid extremely well. I got to travel some to take care of other territories for other workers. I did this job for a few years until the recession hit and my contract was cut. I went back to school again, this time for motorcycle repair. Year long school figured I could do it until the economy picked up. I didnt really like the motorcycle work and decided i would go back to IT again after graduation with an added skill of motorcycle repair so I could work on my own bike and maybe a few others for extra money. The day i graduated I had a heart attack, it was diagnosed as stress related so now I have to find something not hard work low stress and getting to travel some (field service fly somewhere fix a project fly home) preferrably a home office set my own schedule type of work. more

Resolved Question: Is Nancy Pelosi one helluva drinker to spend $101,429.14 just on alcohol on her taxpayer funded flights?

This woman is so corrupt, the country going down the drain and she and her buddies PARTAY it up at taxpayer expense!! excerpt... Judicial Watch said the newly obtained 2,000 pages of documentation show Pelosi's military travel cost the U.S. Air Force $2,100,744.59 over two years – including $101,429.14 for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol. Among the newest highlights revealed: Pelosi used Air Force aircraft to travel back to her district at an average cost of $28,210.51 per flight. Of 103 Pelosi-led congressional delegations (CODEL), 31 trips included members of the House speaker's family. One CODEL traveling from Washington, D.C., through Tel Aviv, Israel, to Baghdad, Iraq, May 15-20, 2008, "to discuss matters of mutual concern with government leaders" included members of Congress and their spouses and cost $17,931 per hour in aircraft alone. This flight included the purchase of the long list of alcoholic drinks. According to a "Memo for Record" from a March 29-April 7, 2007, CODEL that involved a stop in Israel, "CODEL could only bring kosher items into the hotel. Kosher alcohol for mixing beverages in the delegation room was purchased on the local economy i.e. bourbon, whiskey, scotch, vodka, gin, triple sec, tequila, etc. Pelosi's office could not be reached for comment. The answering machine said the office would be closed until Monday, and the mailbox was full, so no messages could be left. http://www.judicialwatch.org/story/2010/jan/nancy-pelosi-air-force-documentsCommander: That was my fault...Believe it or not Idid not do that one intentionally. I read the story from another site, then went to look for the info...found it on JW but pasted the story excerpt while only looking at the headline...the headaline said the same thing, so that was my fauly for not reading into the -in flight expenses, including food and alcohol- But, with that being said, is it reasonable for her to USURP over $100,000 from taxpayers for food and alcohol over a two year period? Just for herself and her friends on the military plane she pretty much commandeered? more

Resolved Question: US/NC to Estonia for less than $500?

The cheapest thing I've found is Expedia bargain one-way flights for around $600. One-Way works for me because I also have citizenship there. There is literally an almost non-existent job market no matter the trade and/or skill here in North Carolina, so I'm stuck with an unpredictable shoestring budget. Seems like there should be a cheaper way, the prices don't match the average state of economy. By air it's Charlotte, NC (CLT-Charlotte-Douglas Intl.) to Tallinn, Estonia (TLL-Ulemiste), but it doesn't have to be air travel. Thanks more

Resolved Question: Isn't Global warming a joke?

I remember when industries could dump all the toxins they wanted into the river. The economy flourished when businesses could pollute as much as they wanted to. So what if the air smells like butt. Who cares if all the water is orange, and smells like an egg fart. I remember when the rich industry owners where not only allowed to pollute all they wanted; but they could even build damns out of trash for recreation and if the damn broke, and took countless lives it was not really that big of a deal, because these are the people creating jobs. Why are people so against this global warming scare? Pollution is good for the economy, and eventually we will need to perfect space travel to find another planet to do this to all over again. http://www.nps.gov/jofl/index.htm more

Resolved Question: Should or attend my friend's wedding or not?

I’m in my 30s and my best friend from High School is getting married. I live in New York and he is getting married in Sydney, Australia. I haven’t seen him in years since he moved to Australia for work, but we’ve kept in touch over the years and he invited me to his wedding recently. I’m really torn because I really want to attend his wedding, especially since the groom was my best friend from my childhood, but the expense of attending the wedding would easily cost me a $2,000 or more, not to mention the 3 days just in air travel time. Given the shaky economy and job market (my company just announced a salary freeze), I don’t know if it’s a good idea for me to spend $2000 on trips right now. Have you ever been in this situation? What would you do? What should I do? more

Resolved Question: What do you think about obama traveling to much?

Is it just me or has obama put way to many miles on air force one this year. With the economy in the tank and the senate trying to pass a lame health care bill, obama seems to be in the air more than he is in the white house. The people voted him in the presidency to help the US not take a four year vacation around the world. Before you start throwing stones, I'm a democrat who thinks he's doing a poor job of running this country. What do you think about obama jetting all over the world instead of taking care of business at home.Buldog, the answer to your question is we will, it'll be coming out of next weeks paycheck as if it weren't small enough already.Seriously what does doprah have to do with our government that he can fly to her party, maybe it,s the fried chicken.peace and love,I am a dem and voted strongly against both terms of being bush wacked, but I also voted against obama because he was unfit to be president. Why is it every time someone says something that is not praise for obama they are labeled a racist or a republican or both.Spike, what does bushs' ranch and his lack of animals have to do with my question.why is it when someone says something about obama the dems have to try to deliver a put down against bush, everyone knows bush was a flaming turd already, but if obama keeps up his traveling pace he will out travel every other president to date. more

Resolved Question: HELP! Can you guys give me career ideas based on these parameters?

Alright. Here's the deal. I'm three decades old and I need to choose a career right now. I am going to give you all the information you could possibly need to help point me in the right direction. 1. In the order of the quality most preferred, I would like to find a career that provides: - a decent salary - is recession resistant - provides real opportunity for career advancement - can be initially tranied for in 2 years or less - offers flexible scheduling options (10 hour shifts, 12 hour shifts, etc) 2. Here is my personal profile that may bar me from or better qualify me for some of the suggestions you already have in mind. - 30 years old - good driving history - no criminal history or arrests - never been terminated from a job - very poor credit (thanks to the economy and loss of work) - no illegal substance use at all or bad habits such as tobacco use - good physical condition - high school diploma and around 38 college credits via computer crime investigations - single with no dependents and no tie downs - can travel heavily 3. Here is my professional profile that overviews my past experiences. - hospitality management and servicing - corporate security director - information technology support, client and server side (eight certifications held) - some basic insurance claim experience 4. Here are other areas of strong knowledge I have acquired. - law enforcement communications and operations such as dispatching and policing - private contract security operations - debt collection - aviation including general and some commercial knowledge 5. Here are some examples of a few things I would enjoy doing. - working in or around water in warm climates - traveling - policing 6. Here are some examples of a few things I don't want to do. - nursing - taxi cab driver (hah) - retail work of any kind even at a corporate level - dentist - paramedic / emt - firefighter - postal worker - oil field worker 7. Below are ideas I have already considered but probably can not successfully pursue because of my financial circumstance (required security clearances) or my age: - faa air traffic controller - most government jobs (due to bad credit and pending balances) - US coastguard officer - full time insurance adjuster - most financial services positions Any ideas you can give me would be great. Although my financial circumstance can rule out quite a few jobs that are either financially or information sensitive, not all good careers have credit requirements. So throw me ideas that maybe I haven't thought of! Thanks guys! more

Resolved Question: need help in correcting my Classification essay?

Airline travel class People travel different places around the globe every year by air and in different reservation class. When passengers start to plan their journey they have to buy airline tickets, but when passengers are booking their airline tickets the agents never explain the difference. So it is very important to understand different class of travel through air in order to take the advantage. There are three different class of reservation which are Economy class, Business class and First class. First of all, Economy class which is also called as coach class. The fares are cheaper but have more restrictions. The seats are usually like train seats, sometime it comes with fold out tray for food or with music player. The quality of the food varies depending on various factors. Though it offers the cheapest fares and comes with much more restrictions still it is very popular among middle class people who don’t have more money to spend. Further more, Business class also known as executive class or upper class. Business class is a high quality second tier travel class. Mostly people from big corporations prefer travelling through this class. The seats are much bigger and can recline up to 160 degree. There is an inbuilt LCD TV for movies and sometime it comes with an internet connection. The food is of high quality and sometime passengers can order their preferred meal. Business class doesn’t have restrictions like economy class. If a passenger decides to cancel their journey they can get the whole amount back. This class of travel is mostly famous and is also getting popular in leisure travel. Finally, First class is a luxury travel class which is much better then business class. Few of the airlines offer this class of travel because of limited amount of seats located in front of the aircraft. The seats are reclining with more leg room. Sometime passengers have their own cabin with fully furnished workstations and TV for entertainment. The food is same as business class but it comes with other goodies like travelling kit, shaving kit, and neck pillow or blanket. First class passengers get to board the aircraft before business or economy class passengers and when the journey is completed they get limousine car ride to their destination. First class travel is mostly preferred by politicians, sportsman and actors who can afford to spend $10,000 on a ticket. People are traveling more then every before around the globe in different class. So next times when you travel make sure you check class of travel airline has to offer. This will help you to decide between different class of travel and it will save you time and money more

Resolved Question: What do you guys think of my story so far?

The Lies Among us. "The sun is up, But it won't shine in the sky, The moon came out, But it won't illuminate the ground. Under the thick cover of leaves, in this ominous green forest, my ears here the simple lies, the wind whispers in my ears. The forest in my soul, my heart lies in the ground. My love once dead, weaves itself through the tangle of a false reality, inside the green trees, is where I rest in peace. Alas, the forest has died, and the leaves fall dead, brown and to the ground, I fall with them. Releasing my secrets, whispering them into the dying winds. I am one with the forest, I die with the forest. My life was a tormented game, a tortured heart. But as I lay in the ground, my fingers numbly picking at the dirt above me, I hear the restless stir of the lying leaves, and at last I am finally home." [Poem by me] Prologue Something about the forrest has always attracted me. Wether it had been the haunting oaks that loomed over me, casting shadows around my feet, like pools of black water that were tying to suck me in. Or the peacefulness of the still air throughout the rustling leaves. Either way, the forest was my savior from the over bearing world that I despised. It was an escape, the kind you get from drugs, or a high. The rushing creek, and the elongating limbs of the trees was my high. The way the ground would stir with dead leaves every time I made my way into the maze of loneliness. I have never had many friends, part of that reason was because of my lack of attendance at school. Teachers would be worried, but my parents didn't care. They could give less of a shit about me if I fell from a twenty story building. All they care about, those heartless beings that gave birth to me, is money. And that meant throwing me away to create an empire of happiness. That was why I turned to the lonely life of a hiker. I travel through millions of trees, wondering what my life could have been like elsewhere. If I were dead, would there be at last that bit of peace even the forest can't provide most of the time. I wonder, sometimes, if I was even meant to be on this earth. Or if I'm just some sickly joke that was to be tormented 'till death. No one would care if I died, in fact, half of my school's population would be glad, and if I'm correct, my parents would just laugh and move on with their worthless lives. I'm a lonely truth in a world of lies, and for once I wish I could show the world what they have done to me. Show them the truth that they have been hiding from ever since the dawn of time. But I know that wishing such extreme things is a waste of my nonexistent time, and a hope crushing action for me. So for now, I stick to the inhuman trees, and the whispering wind, and hope to god that I will be okay. Chapter 1 - The cause and effect of timeless jokes. I've lost all faith in this world. I realized this as I sat in the third row of Economy class, faintly nodding my head when the teacher would ask me questions. I don't know why I keep begging for expectance, every time I just get shot down. And I definitely don't know why I even try to get along with my parents. They hate me, I don't know what I did to them, but the hate me with every last bit of horrible, tainted blood inside of their greedy bodies. Besides, faith is a funny words. It means so much to the average joe, but then you come across a being like me, someone filled with so much doubt and conspiracies. To me, faith is like being trapped in a locked car under 50,000 pounds of water, faith is like digging your own grave way to early. There is no god, no eternal heaven, so when people tell me they have faith, I have no interest in conversing with them. "Mable." Mr. Stern said with authority in his voice. I slowly lifted my lifeless blue eyes up to his dull brown ones and started at him with no emotion at all. "Why don't you tell the class what you would do in a national depression." He said, trying to catch me in a bad moment. Well, so sorry for Mr. Stern, but every moment is my bad moment. I pushed my limp, greasy blonde hair out of my face, and turned my whole body towards the class. Tearing my mind of away from thoughts of the forest. "She'd probably just live in the forest like a hobo." I heard one little insecure freshmen whisper to a larger senior. I laughed at her stupid attempt to make me feel bad, and I stood up, like I always have to do when answering Mr. Stern's idiotic questions. I cleared my throat when people started to snicker at me, and I felt light headed from the evil glares I was getting. Whatever. "Actually, I have it all planned out." I said laughing in my head, but an evil smile crept upon my face. "Knowing already that our nation is in a down fall worse then the depression in the 1930's, I have concocted a genius plan to save myself from the rotting bodies that will be famished outside of my window." I said pausing, trying my best to conjure the plan I have yet to~*~Ashly... - yeah.. sorry this was like the first serious idea I've ever had so it does a bit weird. And yeah there are freshman in my economics class at my school.. I'm not sure how they got there, but they're fucking genius. Yeah, so sorry if that doesn't elsewhere. more

Resolved Question: OH MY GOD !! Did any one read Palins book. (to many lie to write about)?

here's a few THE FACT IS................. PALIN: Says she made frugality a point when traveling on state business as Alaska governor, asking "only" for reasonably priced rooms and not "often" going for the "high-end, robe-and-slippers" hotels. THE FACTS: Although travel records indicate she usually opted for less-pricey hotels while governor, Palin and daughter Bristol stayed five days and four nights at the $707.29-per-night Essex House luxury hotel (robes and slippers come standard) overlooking New York City's Central Park for a five-hour women's leadership conference in October 2007. With air fare, the cost to Alaska was well over $3,000. Event organizers said Palin asked if she could bring her daughter. The governor billed her state more than $20,000 for her children's travel, including to events where they had not been invited, and in some cases later amended expense reports to specify that they had been on official business. ___ PALIN: Boasts that she ran her campaign for governor on small donations, mostly from first-time givers, and turned back large checks from big donors if her campaign perceived a conflict of interest. THE FACTS: Of the roughly $1.3 million she raised for her primary and general election campaigns for governor, more than half came from people and political action committees giving at least $500, according to an AP analysis of her campaign finance reports. The maximum that individual donors could give was $1,000; $2,000 for a PAC. Of the rest, about $76,000 came from Republican Party committees. She accepted $1,000 each from a state senator and his wife in the weeks after the two Republican lawmakers' offices were raided by the FBI as part of an investigation into a powerful Alaska oilfield services company. After AP reported those donations during the presidential campaign, she said she would give a comparative sum to charity after the general election in 2010, a date set by state election laws. ___ PALIN: Rails against taxpayer-financed bailouts, which she attributes to Obama. She recounts telling daughter Bristol that to succeed in business, "you'll have to be brave enough to fail." THE FACTS: Palin is blurring the lines between Obama's stimulus plan — a $787 billion package of tax cuts, state aid, social programs and government contracts — and the federal bailout that Republican presidential candidate John McCain voted for and President George W. Bush signed. Palin's views on bailouts appeared to evolve as McCain's vice presidential running mate. In September 2008, she said "taxpayers cannot be looked to as the bailout, as the solution, to the problems on Wall Street." A week later, she said "ultimately what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy." During the vice presidential debate in October, Palin praised McCain for being "instrumental in bringing folks together" to pass the $700 billion bailout. After that, she said "it is a time of crisis and government did have to step in." This is just a few whoppers she wrote about in her book more

Resolved Question: comment and rate my Personal Statement PLz?

Hi, could someone comment and rate my personal statement please. It's a bit long so if you think a point is not necessary. Thanks Attending an education science trip in year 9 turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. We were split into three large groups and we had to be able to cooperate with our team members and make outstanding decisions. Being a very competitive person I put in hundred percent in everything that I do in order to achieve my goal. Taking part in this allowed me to gain more communication skills, team working skills and problem solving. Through this experience, I was able to achieve an A grade for my science GCSE. My interest in science increased further, particularly in physics. With theses interests combined with my interest in travelling, I started to think of a career as a pilot. In order to achieve my goal, I have decided to study a pilot training course or improve my knowledge in Mathematics and Physics at university. I chose my subjects because I enjoy them and also I believe that they will equip me with the necessary skills needed for my chosen course for university. These skills include being able to interpret data and the ability to solve problems. These subjects are similarly linked together and provide me with different challenges encouraging me to work harder. I relish the challenge of a complicated problem either in computing, physics or mathematics. Undertaking one week work experience at Eaton Green Motor Co. as a Mechanic’s Assistance gave me an insight on how working full time will be like. During this week, I gained good communication skills, listing skills and being able to work as part of a team. It gave me a little insight into the work of a pilot as a pilot needs to be able to communicate well with the passengers to reassure them of a safe and enjoyable flight. Also, they need good communication with Air traffic Control in order for a good take-off and a good landing. Having the ability to work as part of a team will ensure a good relationship amongst the co-pilot and the flight attendances. This was an interesting placement and I enjoyed every aspect of it. Being a paperboy at the age of 15 opened new challenges to me. These included having to manage time if I was to finish my news paper deliveries in time for school every morning. Up till now, I have been consistence in punctuality in everything I do. Being able to work independently is one of the skills I gained from this experience. I recently developed interest in Anime and the Japanese culture. Knowing that Japan have the 2nd largest economy in the world, I decided to pick up a few words in Japanese in addition to my three existing Languages which are: Twi (my first language), English and a little bit of French. Noticing an opportunity in this, I joined the Anime club enrichment at college and I have being receiving Japanese lessons each week expanding my vocabulary. In addition, we watch subtitled Anime which has helped improve my understanding of some Japanese keyword and also improve my listening skills. I am still currently completing my training to join St John Ambulance brigade members. I have gained new first aid skills as well as learning skills including team working, problem solving and social & medical ethics. At high school, I was appointed as a prefect. I was honoured to have been recognised and felt it was my role and responsibility to set an example to the younger students. In addition, I was awarded several awards including an African Caribbean most improved student award. Also, I received a most improved student and disciple student award from my school. This was as a result of the hard work and commitment I showed during my time at high school. Something I will apply to my university career. My research into the life of a pilot has shown me that I have all the skills and qualities required in becoming a pilot. I am a high-school Sophomore, and myself and four other students are trying to attend the 2010 Close Up Foundation Trip in January, from Jan. 17-22nd. We are traveling independently to save money (all on US Air from Atlanta-Charlotte-Washington (DCA). I went to the Inauguration with Close Up earlier in 2009, and I had a blast! I want to go again, but because of the economy and my parents both being out of work for a month now, I don't have the funds. I was let go from my job two weeks ago, because they couldn't pay for me. The same with my other friends. We are all straight-A students and we really want to attend this wonderful, educational experience again. I have heard that you can fund raise for the trip, but I don't know how. My family is broke. I want to write letters to local Atlanta area companies (Delta, AirTran, Coke, HomeDepot, UPS, Rubbermaid, Chick-fil A) But, I have a feeling I would get turned down on the spot. I know most won't want to sponsor me, but I want to try anyway. The cost is 1,100 per student this year, and we can each put about 300 total towards the trip, including airfare (of 210). That still leaves around $1000. Is there any company that would openly sponsor us? It is tax-deductible and it such a great educational experience. Or is there anything I can do to help to secure a sponsorship or write to anyone in particular? Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and God-bless Thomas more

Resolved Question: Assalamu aleikum? Read if u have time to spare ..Flight Janazah?

AsSalaam WaAlaykum WaRehmatullah WaBarkaatuhu Welcome aboard Fly Air Janazah When we are leaving this world for the next one, it shall be like a trip to another country. Where details of that country won’t be found in glamorous travel brochures but in the Holy Qura’an and the Hadiths. Where our plane won’t be Indian Air Lines, British Airways, Gulf Air or Emirates but Air Janazah. Where our luggage won’t be the allowed 30 Kgs but our deeds no matter how heavy they weigh. You don’t pay for excess luggage. They are carried free of charge, with your Creator’s compliment. Where our dress won’t be a Pierre Cardin suit or the like but the white cotton shroud. Where our perfume won’t be Channel, Paco Rabane, but the camphor and attar. Where our passports won’t be Indian, British, French or American but Al Islam. Where our visa won’t be the 6 months leave to stay or else but the “La Illaha Illallah”. Where the airhostess won’t be a gorgeous female but Isra’iil and its like. Where the in-flight services won’t be 1st class or economy but a piece of beautifully scented or foul smelling cloth. Where our place of destination won’t be Heathrow Terminal 1 or Jeddah International Terminal but the last Terminal Graveyard. Where our waiting lounge won’t be nice carpeted and air-conditioned rooms but the 6 feet deep gloomy Qabar. Where the Immigration Officer won’t be His Majesty’s officers but Munkar and Nakeer. They only check out whether you deserve the place you yearn to go. Where there is no need for Customs Officers or detectors. Where the transit airport will be Al Barzakh. Where our final place of destination will be either the Garden under which rivers flow or the Hellfire. This trip does not come with a price tag. It is free of charge, So your savings would not come handy. This flight can never be hijacked so do not worry about terrorists. Food won’t be served on this flight so do not worry about your allergies or whether the food is Halal. Do not worry about legroom; you won’t need it, as our legs will become things of the past. Do not worry about delays. This flight is always punctual. It arrives and leaves on time. Do not worry about the in-flight entertainment program because you would have lost all your sense of joy. Do not worry about booking this trip, it has already been booked (return) the day you became a foetus in your mother’s womb. Ah! At last good news! Do not worry about who will be sitting next to you. You will have the luxury of being the only passenger. So enjoy it while you can. If only you can! One small snag though, this trip comes with no warning. Are you prepared…..you better be ! Please spread the truth and Insha-Allah our Muslim brothers & sisters will understand and practice the guiding principles, whatever way they can afford to uphold our believe of our religion Islam in this world and in the hereafter. ............................................................................................... Resolved Question: Settling Indonesia V Australia, once and for all!?

I am so sick of all this Indonesia V Australia bs, im going to line out why such a war would never happen and even if it did, it would be a bloody draw, neither side could invade the other!, Constructive criticism is welcome as well your own opinions. Indonesia is a welcoming Ally of Australia, both nations have mutual diplomatic relations with each other and Indonesia receives a significant amount of Australian Aid ($462 Million (AU dollar). They both cooperate in areas such as counter-terroism, maritime boundaries, Fishery conservation, law enforcement and many other areas. Many Indonesian students Travel to Australia for educational purposes. clearly these nations have no intentions for going to war with each other. Now, why a war between Indonesia and Australia would be unproductive and pointless. Lets assume that Indonesia was attacking Australia, because Australia could never, ever invade Indonesia without help and anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. The only real reason i can think why Indonesia would even want to Invade Australia is secure valuable natural resources. Now Invading the entire continent of Australia is a very daunting task, you would need an army at least 550,000 to 600,000 strong, a extremely large amount of supplies and transport to get around the country quickly. here is were Indonesia hits trouble, Indonesia has a army some 300,000 strong and a reserve force of 400,000, so theoretically Indonesia easily has enough troops to invade the country, however transporting this amount of troops is far beyond the capabilities of the Indonesian Navy. Indonesia would have to transport hundreds of tons of supplies to keep these troops active, The Australian Population would also hinder movements via strong Resistance. The Naval/Air War: For Indonesia to land enough troops on the Australian continent they would need to gain Air superiority and Naval supremacy over the RAN and RAAF (RAN= Royal Australian Navy, and RAAF = Royal Australian Air Force) This is Indonesia's weakness, although the Indonesian navy is 2 times bigger than the RAN it lacks modern vessels and many of its ships are approaching obsoletes compared to the highly sophisticated ships of the RAN. The RAN also has 6 highly capable Diesel electric submarines under its command which outnumber and outclass the current submarines of the Indonesian Navy. Indonesia also lacks large numbers of transport ships which it would need to transport such a large number of troops/supplies from Indonesia to the Australian mainland, and this could happen once the RAN and RAAF had been neutralized, which would be very difficult to achieve. The RAAF is one of the most potent in the SEA region, it has over 124 combat capable aircraft (71 F-18 Hornets, 21 F-111 and 33 BaE Hawks, although the Hawks are training aircraft, they are capable of air-to-air combat.) Indonesia's air force has only roughly only 66 combat capable air-craft in service, 29 of which are BaE trainers whom are outclassed by the F-18 hornets. Australia would be able to gain air superiority and destroy any incoming Indonesian landing force. The RAAF also has numerous modern anti-aircraft and anti-ship weapons and missile batteries. The RAAF and RAN are also both to see upgrades in the near future by 2030 the RAAF and RAN will have the following Equipment added to their arsenal: RAN upgrades: 3 Hobart Class Air warfare destroyers 12 New Submarines (will replace the 6 collins class) 2 Canberra class amphibious operation ships capable of acting as air-craft carriers. Various upgrades to the missile systems on the current ANZAC and Adelaide class ships. RAAF upgrades: 100 F-35 fifth generation stealth-capable multiple fighters 24 F-18 Super hornets 8 Boeing P-8 Poseidon 7 long endurance/large UAVs 6 Boeing project wedge tail aircraft Economic factors: Australia has a much stronger economy than Indonesia, If necessary Australia could quickly purchase further aircraft or ships to aid in its defence. US support: Australia and Indonesia are both close to the US government however, Indonesia does not have a free trade agreement with the US or a ANZUS style security treaty. The ANZUS treaty is a security alliance between the US, Australia and separately New zealnd to Australia. This treaty is a simple Military alliance, that if anyone attacked Australia, the USA and NZ would be committed to war against the attackers. This alliance is extremely important to Australia's defence, the US pacific fleet could obliterate Indonesia's Navy and Air force in combat and force Indonesia quickly into submission. As you can see, neither side can win, Indonesia cannot invade Australia and Australia cannot invade Indonesia, War is unproductive and pointless, these two nations can work far better together than against each other. more
