Expedia Air Travel Questions asked

Resolved Question: Where can I find multi-destination air travel?

Unfortunately, none of the websites I've tried include a car and hotel in the package. I've tried Travelocity, Expedia and I have an email in to Hotwire's customer service. I just need any pointers on how to book all 3 items with a multi-destination flight. Thanks more

Resolved Question: Frequent flight detail changes from Egyptair- is this "normal"?

I booked a flight from Munich to Cairo and Cairo to Munich on Expedia about 4 mo ago. I have used Expedia many times with no problems. So, I've gotten 2 notifications during that time that Egyptair changed the flight details. The first notification neither I nor the Expedia Customer Service staff could determine what the change actually was! Now, I can see that the time of the arrivals/departures is a little different, by about 10 minutes each way. I've travelled on Continental, Air France, Air China, and a couple other carriers before and never experienced these pre-flight itinerary changes. Is it something that is par for the course or should I be concerned? Why do they make changes like this, anyway? Is this partially due to how early we booked the flight? Just curious. Thanks for all informative answers. :) more

Resolved Question: what flights you have taken for go to australia?

Hello, one of my next goals is Australia and I can not wait to go. For the moment I am monitoring the prices of flights. From start easily reach the international airports of Rome, Frankfurt and Paris because there are several flights daily. Consequently, I have several choices such as Sky Team, Star Alliance and One World. If I had linked directly to London Heathrow would have more possibilities. I'd like take Qantas and there is a direct flight from Frankfurt to Sydney (it makes a technical stop in Singapore). In fact I'll see what I can find the best price. But back to the question: I wish to know what was your experience of flights you have taken to go to Australia. I would like to know the following information for feedback: 1) How much did you pay the ticket? 2) When did you go? 3) What s the company s air / and you've got and what flights you made? For example, Milan and Singapore with Singapore Airlines, Singapore-Sydney with Qantas .. 4) How have you found with / the company / and air / and you've got? The suitcases have lost them there? How long aveate during one or more stopovers? 5) Where you purchased the ticket? For example, the company's web site, web Expedia, eDreams, etc.., Travel agency For the moment the best price it offers Air China about 1060 euros per person. But I would like to fly the new A380 and I wish fly with Singapore Airlines, Qantas or Emirates could choose two outer seats in the upper deck economy cabin. Can I find a good price? I think so. Obviously I have to do this book on the official website of the airline, which is my habit to do, so I can choose my place to check in online, etc.. Then it is clear that bad luck can happen at any time, but to book a flight with less than 2 hours of call, well, it means find it themselves!! PS : Why many people says : forget Qantas, its bad company!? Thanks in advance more

Resolved Question: Is expedia a trusted company for air travel?

I'm comparing prices and expedia is hella cheap(about $150 cheaper compared to American airlines), but has anyone ever use them? I'll like to go to puerto rico for 1 week, from may 21-may30. more

Resolved Question: How much money in $US dollars do I need to stay in Thailand (Koh Samui) for 2 weeks?

My husband and I never got to go on a honey moon and we are now planning, FINALLY! Our first amount of saving is about to come from his tax refund, so i wanted to get an idea of how much we need and other advice on traveling. We would love to stay for 2 weeks, but may just have to deal with one. There are a few key things we want to incorporate into our trip that you should keep in mind before helping us: 1. We want to go to an Elephant camp where we can interact with them. 2. We want to go diving, or snorkeling at the discovery center. 3. My husband would like to have one on one training at a Muay Thai gym, for at least 4 hours. 4. I would like to relax while he does this, possibly at a spa, if i don't think it's too expensive. (This is not a must for me, but he is insisting that I try it so he can go and do his fighting thing...) Anyway, those are the only things we really HAVE to do... we are open to any other suggestions, and we are wondering where the cheapest air fare is going to be, from what we have seen so far the tickets from Charleston SC - Koh Samui is going to be roughly $4,000 alone (according to expedia). Also give us some good hotel ideas that won't break the bank. I am curious as to seeing if we have found the least expensive way to go here. more

Resolved Question: How can I add a travel booking engine to my travel agency website?

I want to add a travel booking engine to my travel agency's website to increase sales and for customer convenience (ex. air, cruise, hotels, cars, etc.) Something like on Travelocity, Expedia, Kayak, etc. You know what I mean... Anyway, are there companies that provide these services for a monthly subscription fee, for example? I've googled but haven't been able to find much of anything! Thank you! more

Resolved Question: Anyone else not getting through to Expedia.co.uk?

I know the volcanic ash cloud is unprecedented in the history of travel. I know that there are literally hundreds of thousands of travellers who have booked through Expedia.co.uk who are now stranded and trying to get answers. I know all these things. I know all these things, but it seems absolutely clear to me that Expedia has not had a contingency plan in place for dealing with a catastrophic failure of the air transport system. My emails are going unanswered and as far as phoning goes - well, you might as well forget it. I was on hold yesterday for 45 minutes with no result, and 30 minutes today. Does anyone else feel that Expedia seems to do fine when things are going well, but fails in almost every respect of reasonable customer service when things go wrong? more

Resolved Question: Did Air travel prices go up or am I looking in the wrong places?

I'm totally confused. I live in NYC and Last year, my family and I booked a $200 and something dollar Jet Blue flight to Orlando Florida last year in June. It was somewhere between $200-$250 for 2 adults and 1 child, no more and no less. We're going back next month and the prices have risen DRAMATICALLY. Now, it's like $200 PER PERSON, making it like $700 total! That's crazy. I've tried Expedia, Lowfares, Orbitz, and JetBlue itself. Should I just wait a few more weeks or something? We're not supposed to go until the 3rd week of May. I'm not willing to spend more than $300 for 2 adults and 1 child. more

Resolved Question: Traveling from Montreal to Hong Kong in August. Best to buy airfare now or wait?

I don't like sites like expedia, etc. I will book directly with Air Canada, but I've been checking prices recently, and they seem to be going down. Right now I'm looking at around $2000 with all taxes, which is a lot of money. Do you think it will be cheaper if I wait till June or July? If I end up paying like $100 more at the end it's no big deal, but if I book now, then see a $500 drop, I'll be pissed off. more

Resolved Question: What is the cheapest airline that goes from PAris, France to Istanbul, Turkey?

I've searched on Expedia, Ryan Air and Easy Jet...and can't find anything that goes from PAris to Istanbul. WE are looking for a one way flight on March 31 and don't care if it has a stopover but can't find anything. I thought traveling around Europe is suppose to be cheap but can't find an airline...help more

Resolved Question: What is the cheapest air fare internation website. Los Angeles to Istanbul, Turkey?

I'm looking to travel in mid june to the end of july from Los Angeles, CA to Istanbul, Turkey. I'm a student and can't afford over $800 for the ticket. What is the cheapest airfare website? all the major ones like orbitz, travelocity, expedia, etc. sell the tickets for over $1,100 more

Resolved Question: US/NC to Estonia for less than $500?

The cheapest thing I've found is Expedia bargain one-way flights for around $600. One-Way works for me because I also have citizenship there. There is literally an almost non-existent job market no matter the trade and/or skill here in North Carolina, so I'm stuck with an unpredictable shoestring budget. Seems like there should be a cheaper way, the prices don't match the average state of economy. By air it's Charlotte, NC (CLT-Charlotte-Douglas Intl.) to Tallinn, Estonia (TLL-Ulemiste), but it doesn't have to be air travel. Thanks more

Resolved Question: Best Cruise for a first time cruiser, with my husband, to Caribbean, 4 nights only...?

Would like to see Turks and Caicos but don't know if there is a good 4 night cruise from Miami that goes there. Would like to travel next year, what would be the cheapest and /or best time to travel there. I'd like a newer ship since I hate bugs and older ships I've heard can be buggy, yuk! Have you found this to be true? I don't want a formal cruise so we need casual dining options without dressy clothes needed for dinner. I can fly out of any city really since I have 2 free round trip plane tickets anywhere Air Tran flies. Would you book with a travel agent or on Travelocity or Expedia, etc? Any tips or information you have would be great. We are 44 years old but don't like huge crowds so we'd like a cruise ship that isn't totally packed with people everywhere we turn. We'd like to have some day excursions to lay on the beach and preferably be able to pay extra for a quiet, private beach excursion if they offer that on the cruise. I may be being too demanding here, not sure. We'd only like to pay a total for the 3 or 4 nights of 1,000 bucks. Thanks if you know anything that fits this criteria...I wish I could pick all of your comments as a best answer sorry I have to choose but I appreciate everyone's responses. more

Resolved Question: Does a website exist which shows all available forms of travel, and the ability to book said means of travel?

Without calling a travel agent, I'm in need of a website similar to the big ones for air travel, like expedia/priceline/orbitz/etc, but which searches among various methods of travel. For instance, to travel between major cities or small cities, I'd like to find out, from one website, if I can travel by charter bus, rail train, maglev train, or air. My goal is to fly cheaply to a major city, then find alternative methods of travel to go to nearby towns (and to other nearby towns from the small ones I already traveled to) which may be 3-5 hours away by driving. The best I have come up with is to use google search terms for two small towns/cities and either train or bus, with no consistent success for something along the lines of "travel between ___ and ___ for $xx.xx with charter bus company A, train company D, or airline company A". Searching at greyhound.com or amtrak.com is helpful, but only if I do individual searches for every pair of cities to find out if they commute or not, and then going to every single OTHER bus company to see if they provide service among the 30 different pairs. If there exists a website, like expedia.com, where I can input travel destinations between syracuse and williamsport, or waco and abilene and be shown all available methods of travel rather than just airlines (the many different charter bus companies, all airlines, trains/maglev, and others I may not be aware of) and choose just as I would with expedia (which is airline only), I would love to know the name of the website. more

Resolved Question: Will someone with experience with air traveling give me their opinion?

Everywhere I look I keep getting flights that are like four or five stops before I get to my destination.. and the flights I prefer are all around $900 and I want to leave May 20th and get back May 26th.. weird since the time difference and all. I looked at Lufthansa's Airline website, and they have this: May 20th - Houston Continental(4:15 pm) - Frankfurt(8:55 am) May 21st - Frankfurt (1:15 pm) - Nuremberg (2:05pm) for $503.00. Problem is, I'm in McAllen. So I would have to take a flight like this one: May 20th - McAllen (10:40 am) - Houston (11:50 am) first and I would have to buy this one through Expedia's website..this one comes out to about $200. Total if I did this would be around $700 (much cheaper and times are better). And I would have to buy the roundtrip tickets to not overlap or anything of course but is it more of a hassle doing it this way? I kept getting so many stops and different carriers using websites like Orbitz and Expedia.. and I'm incredibly scared of having lost baggage and I would have to check it since it will be a pretty big bag since I'm going for nearly a week and I am a girl :) haha but does anyone have advice on if this would be a hassle to go through? Also, when I get to Germany.. I would have to get a taxi to my hotel and wait for my boyfriend.. any advice on this? Also, will there be people to help me if I get confused in Frankfurt? I will start brushing up on German soon but just wondering...Well all the other flights I have found that are decent are around $1,500 or more.. and end up being like 5 connecting flights.. I don't want to end up taking sooo many planes. I have tried Expedia and Orbitz and all the okay prices are 5 flights or more.. more

Resolved Question: Where can i find the lowest plane ticket deals?

Resolved Question: What's the best way to get and use frequent flier miles?

My wife is from South Africa and we have traveled there a few times now and look to go back frequently. I didn't bother with FFmiles and used expedia to get the lowest price, but this used two seperate airlines (New Zealand Air & SA Air). At this point should I stick with just one airlines? Resolved Question: Where can I find the best airfare for multi-country travel (latin america)?

I am planning on going to Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile (mexico city, rio, sao paolo, buenos aires, and santiago - in that order) in March. It seems like if I try to book all the flights by myself on a standard travel site (expedia, etc), it will end up being a huge amount. What other options can I pursue? If a travel agency is the best avenue to go - can anybody recommend one? Also any additional information may be helpful (booking hotels, non-air travel from rio to sao?). Thanks! Resolved Question: Planning to travel to Italy?

My husband and I are planning to go to Italy next JAN or FEB with another couple. I was wondering if you knew any affordable travel sites for self drive vacations. Last yr we went to Ireland w/ air, car and b &B's for one week was about $700 a person. I was hoping to find something around that price range. I've looked on all the regular sites (travelocity, expedia, priceline, etc) and they don't really have what I'm looking for. Air, and lodging (either b & b's or hotel or whatever) and I don't know about a car b/c someone said its real easy to get around with the train. So I don't know if we should forget the car altogether or rent a car. I guess I'm looking for any advice and tips I can get. And how soon should I book? For Ireland we booked a yr in advance and I'd like to do that this time, but only if I find a good deal. Thanks so much! more

I heard that according to IATA, if I ask to exchange the ticket to the more expensive one as long as I stay within the frame of traveling dates according to the old ticket, the company still has to honor the portion paid for the old ticket, so I pay only the difference betwin the old and the new one. Can anybody please tell me where can I find the rules and regulations describing this particular case? more
