Identification For Air Travel Questions asked

Resolved Question: PLEASE VERIFY THIS INFO FOR ME. I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS IS FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!?

HELLO, How are you? I have seen your resume(CV),you are welcome to my home here in the UK, but what i really need is someone who can take care of kids.Actually I need two nannies.Truly,I need a foreign Nanny either male or female .I knew that there are a lot of Nannies in UK here but is just that i need an Nanny from outside that is caring, loving, motherly care and well determined that can take good care of my kids for me .Hopefully you will be my kid's Nanny and do according to your words.I don't play with my kids at all because they are the apples of my eyes,i worked because of them and i can pay so much on them. My advice to you is that you should be involved in the expenses to reach here in United Kingdom and i shall be responsible for refund for every expenses made by you immediately you get here. Why I said so is that i have paid for 2 Nannies in the past months which they did not come to my home but went to somewhere else and that is why I vowed that any Nannies that i will employ, will be involved in the expenses, just for me to be sure that you will not do like the past Nannies and yo u are ready to work with my family here in UK because I don't want someone who don't care about kids because i cherish my kids alot.I will give you assistance in the expenses. The total cost of securing papers(UK VISA,WORK PERMIT,UK IDENTIFICATION NUMBER) is 2650 Pounds Sterling. So I will shoulder 2450 Pounds while you will shoulder 200 Pounds Sterling.Hope you are ok with this. I will be responsible for your air ticket. The reasons why I wanted you shouldering that amount is: :Due to the signed agreement I have with the British consulate office due to what the other nannies I shouldered every expenses for did to me by going to another direction....I thought the travel agency had deals with them.so I charged the matter to the British consulate office here in London but later discovered that the travel agency never had deals with them. At this point I was made to sign an agreement that any nanny I will employ as a foreigner will be involved in the expenses but will be refunded back his or her money immediately him or her arrives UK here in London. Hope you are ok with this. The British consulate office told me they will compensate me by approving visa and papers to any application of nanny in respect of my file to their office . So you have 100 % assurance of coming over to work for me in London. Don't worry about the United Kingdom,it's a nice place to stay and which I hope you will enjoy staying here with my family and you will have the access to internet In fact i have a personal PC at home for myself but my kids usually play games on their own PC, i will get you a computer to start using for your own use..All expenses made by you will be refunded immediately you get here. The travel agency will get visa for you and will be directly responsible for all the documentations, including Visa, Working permit, and the verifications of your identity in collaboration with the Home office. Because of the current terrorism in the United Kingdom, your documents will be properly verified by the home office. They will apply for visa on your behalf in the UK Home Office here in United Kingdom and when the visa is ready the UK Embassy in your country, will call on you,so that they can endorse the visa on your original passport.Just follow any instructions i give you because that will make things a reality. The duties I'm looking for are as follows: 1-Supervise breakfast with the children in the morning and get them off to school (Collect my 2KIDS of ages 4yrs(daughter/Tracy) and 5yrs(son/Mikel) old from school at 3.40pm.) 2-Some Housework/washing/ironing as required on a daily basis 3-Supervise homework, music practice and fun activities or take children to after school activities. 4-Prepare and cook an evening meal for everyone at about 6.30-6.45 Up to two evenings child minding per week. 5-Weekends and Bank holidays would be free that there will not be much duties to carry out. 6-Occasional weekend work would be offered by prior negotiation. I normally leave for work at 7.00am and get back at around 6.30pm although some flexibility is useful. I am offering a live in position with full board (we eat well in this house!) 1-Separate Toilet and Bathroom. 2-TV,different type of video machines. 3-Personal computer already Internet on. e.t.c for you and i will make sure everything goes on well with you and with my kids. If you don't mind I can arrange for you any language school and school if you wish. My offer for you for a week is 950 pounds sterling and i will provide your accommodation e.t.c. Best regards, Francombe Jordan +447011182738, Parsons Green in Fulham,SW6 United Kingdom London N.B The contract is 4 years renewable type. Resolved Question: What can help ease my anxiety before boarding a plane?

I am traveling tomorrow via airplane. It's not the actual air travel that makes me anxious, it's the checking-in part that almost kills me. I think my anxiety comes from my being out of the Country on vacation when September 11 happened. Because of all the chaos going on, the government required everyone to have a state ID in order to get back into the States, which by the way wasn't required before September 11, meaning that my parents didn't even bother to pack mine. I had to stay an extra 2 weeks out of the Country as I waited for my identification to arrive. Although I was in paradise, the experience was HORRIBLE! I was so scared, and back then I was still a kid. Ever since, I have had this fear of forgetting a document or having my name misspelled on my ticket and not being allowed to board the airplane. Before traveling, I get very sick and almost always hurl or get diarrhea because I'm so nervous! But the second I arrrive to the waiting room, all of my anxiety leaves. My question to you, what are some ways to help ease my anxiety? Any tips/advice will be gladly appreciated! Thanks, Cyn. more

Resolved Question: What excuses will activists make here Canadian couple travelling in Mexico terrorized by armed bandits?

A Canadian couple held up by more than a dozen armed bandits while travelling through Mexico said the frightening experience was exacerbated by facing days of bureaucratic hurdles. "Two minutes of terrorism and twelve days of legal terrorism," said a weary Jack Vander Byl from his home in Portland, Ont. in eastern Ontario. Vander Byl and his wife Michelle were spending their final day in Mexico, driving their pickup truck and trailer on March 26 along a road in Tamaulipas. Their two friends, Joyce and David Miller, were following, and the travelling campers were 300 kilometres from the U.S. border. The four had been in Mexico since Jan. 5. As the road split, Vander Byl said he noticed three pickup trucks ahead, parked near the ditch, and one driver suddenly darted across the road to block any traffic. "They looked like policemen, had black uniforms, flak jackets, machine guns," said Vander Byl, adding he was not alarmed by the sight as it was common to drive through police checkpoints. When Vander Byl asked the man in Spanish for identification, the man laughed, and another bandit began forcing his hand through the cracked window. One of the 16 or more bandits pointed his gun in the air and fired a shot. "At that point, I said 'whoa, this is not a police checkpoint.' I put the truck in park and in a split second the door was open and he had me by the shoulder and yanked me out of the truck," said Vander Byl. In a few minutes, the two couples and two dogs - their friend's pets - were left by the side of the road as the bandits drove away with the vehicles. "As the guy driving Dave's truck and trailer goes by us, he waves at us and smiles," said Vander Byl. In retrospect, Vander Byl believes the couples were targeted, spotted at their last campground by the bandits. "That was the risk we were willing to take to go into Mexico, that someday this could happen. But you never dream it's going to happen to you," said Vander Byl, acknowledging certain areas of Mexico could be like "war zones." http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100411/national/mexico_carjacking more

Resolved Question: Can I travel to France carrying only my I-551 Permanent Resident (Green) Card and State Identification?

I know that I can travel between the United States and Canada by air, land and sea using only my I-551. Can I use my I-551 to travel to France? I will be going to Paris during this summer for two weeks. It will be a big help if I can travel using only my I-551 especially because I am missing a lot of my proof of Philippine citizenship and will be having a lot of trouble in obtaining a replacement for a lost passport at the embassy and a travel document from the USCIS is too expensive. Other than my I-551, Social Security Card and California identity documents, all I have to prove my identity is one National Statistics Office-certified Philippine birth certificate. For some strange reason, they need two certified copies, a Philippine-issued identity document, the lost passport number, a police report for the loss of a passport, and a baptismal certificate...Why the hell would they need a "baptismal certificate"?!?!?! Anyways, thanks! more

Resolved Question: news article , i dont understand it.?

critics slam changes to aircraft safety inspection system Transport Canada's man in charge of aviation safety doesn't like the term SMS, referring to it as a "buzzword." But Merlin Preuss has nevertheless spent a fair bit of time recently defending the concept, which he says will lead to a more accountable aviation industry — and safer skies. Critics such as retired justice Virgil Moshansky, on the other hand, argue that Transport Canada's Safety Management Systems allows the industry to police itself, which is akin to "putting the fox in charge of the hen house." So as we move into an era of deregulation for many major industries, who are Canadians to believe? SMS (Safety Management Systems), the shorthand Transport Canada uses to describe its new approach, makes the aviation industry responsible for implementing systems designed to ensure safe air travel in Canada. Under the concept, the federal department will do fewer direct safety audits of air carriers, instead keeping watch over safety checks done by the airlines themselves. In a spring report, federal Auditor General Sheila Fraser examined Transport Canada's march toward fully implementing its air safety management system. The report uses the following example to define the safety management system: "For example, instead of conducting an inspection to assess whether the tires in the aircraft landing gear are sufficiently inflated, Transport Canada will assess whether a company has the systems in place to ensure that the tires are inflated, following up if necessary. The goal is to make companies more accountable for the management of risks. Transport Canada will still be accountable for safety oversight. The department maintains that safety management systems will allow more thorough identification and resolution of potential safety problems, making the transportation system safer." i dont know what this article means, and it is for socials. can someone explain it to me? more

Voting Question: Traveling without proper government issued ID ?

Travelling without proper government issued ID I just recently bought an airline ticket going to San Francisco coming from Los Angeles. I would just like to know if it is safe for me to travel by air considering that I do not have a proper ID (government issued ID), will it be safe to use my non-US passport as proof of identification? I am concern that they may ask for my I-94 although I have a pending petition with USCIS. I am aware that since 911 airports & airlines have changed their security procedure. So is it safe?  more

Resolved Question: What would you tittle my short story (opinions appreciated)?

There you were, standing there, breathing in the nights silence, aware of everythinh but coherent only to the thing that mattered, the silence. "Finally", you thought, this was your cure. Your eyes rolled back, each nostril engulfing the nights iced air. Finally, all waas right. One mile to go. One mile back to that desolate road you arrived here by. Not many souls traveled by that road, not like you. To you that road was as rountine as the moon would rise and fall, but to others it was nothing more than a wrong turn, a shortcut that never ended. It almost seemed as if the road itself was a mistake. It didnt matter though, you kept it alive with your presence, and in return it became your silent companion, Lucy you called it. Lucy was all you needed, she is all you need. Driveing on the road passing through her eternity of forest, each crack along the asphalt played beneath the tire as a note scroll does within a music box. The bliss of it all. Others wouldn't understand. Lucy wasn't as comforting for some. A few years back the local paper read they found a young woman, around eighteen to twenty-one years of age, layed out across the road, face smashed in by what seemed to have been a tire iron. Bits of flesh and bone fragrment splattered through here fine red hair. Striped down, her naked body exhibited a road map of pain. Welts covered her from chest to toe as leaves would cover the ground in mid-fall. Unrecognizable, no identification, and teeth shattered gave no hope of discovering who that unlucky soul was that met her devestation that night. The only clue she left behind was a tattoo, a rose just below the left ear, thus the paper dubbed her "Rose" "A quarter mile to go", you thought. It felt good to walk the forest now that you head was clear and the illness had passed. Your pants were still damp though, reminding you of your sickness, reminding you of the cure. It hasd been a rough night, but it was all over now. How long before the sunrises you wondered. Hours must had passed in the midst of those woods. Never the less, the road is nearing and soon you'll be enjoying Lucy's company and listening to her melody once again. There it was, that old beat-up, dulled out red Ford pickup you left on the side of the road. Red had always been you favorite color. The wear of the paint was in some way symbolic of your own long stride through life. You, Lucy and that hunk of metal all sharing the same journey. You lifted the handle, opening the door half-way, just enogh to place your foot in to the driverside. You stood there, one hand placed along the windowsill, and the other stretched across the roof of the truck. You tilted you head back, taking one last look at the night sky, and breathing in the cold air, feeling complacent once more. You lowered youself inside and closed the door. You place the key in to the ignition slot, pausing for a few seconds before turning the key. The muffler rowled up as the engine awoke from its slumber. You leaned over and unlatched the glove compartment, the Time Chest you reffered to it, a place that you kept items from your journies, and tonight marked the end of of a long passage. You were cured afterall, and what better way to remeber the night than to add to you time chest. You dug deep in to your pocket to retrieve the item. Your dampened pants had stained it in to a deep auburn color, but none the less you could still make out the picture on the card. JUL E SA DE S D.O.B. 02/1 985 65 1 W. S umb rg Dr. was the only words legible underneath the picture of the girls pale face and long blonde hair, the rest had been stained. You placed the card in to the compartment, after a moment you dug underneath the pile of the chest and grabbed another plastic card bearing the image of a young freckled face women with long amber colored hair that hung passed her shoulders. Looking closly you could see a mark on her neck , a flower hidden behind the dangels of her hair just below her left ear. You gently place it on top of the pile, you sat there a moment gazing at the girl and her blush color. "It's all over now" you said softly "I'm cured." But red always was your favorite color.  more

Resolved Question: did you see the proff palin was right about russin planes near alaska?

News > World Russian flights smack of Cold War U.S. fighters ID bombers near Alaska Rowan Scarborough (Contact) Thursday, June 26, 2008 Comment Print Listen Font Size Share Got a Question? You Report Russian bombers have stepped up provocative flight exercises off the Alaskan coast, reminiscent of Cold War incursions designed to rattle U.S. air defenses. U.S. Northern Command, which protects North American airspace, told The Washington Times that TU-95 Bear bombers on 18 occasions the past year have skirted a 12-mile air defense identification zone that protects Alaska. The incursions prompted F-15s and F-22 Raptor fighters to scramble from Elmendorf Air Force Base and intercept the warplanes. The last incident happened in May. The venerable propeller-driven TU-95 came to symbolize the Cold War, as did its counterpart, the U.S. B-52 Stratofortress. "They have flown close enough to deem it necessary to ID and monitor them," said Maj. Allen Herritage, a base spokesman. "They come. We ID. We go back to our base. They go back to their base." Elmendorf is headquarters for the Alaskan region of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). Air defense identification zones are military boundaries designed to guard the U.S. and Canada against attack. To enter the zones legally, pilots must file flight plans with air controllers. Russian bombers do not file flight plans, so U.S. and Canadian jets are required to scramble to identify the planes and warn them away from the area. "They have not been filing a flight plan and that is the problem," Maj. Herritage said. Moscow's sophisticated show of force has some in the Pentagon paying more attention to the long-term goals of a Russian military, which is being rebuilt with proceeds from the country's huge oil and gas revenues. NORAD is more sensitive than ever to wayward aircraft, given the Sept. 11 attacks by hijackers and the lack of military coordination at the time to track, and perhaps destroy, the planes. Adm. Michael G. Mullen, the Joint Chiefs chairman, talked on Monday of "the challenges we have with a resurgent Russia" while addressing Pentagon workers at a town-hall-style meeting. Gen. Victor E. Renuart Jr., chief of NorthCom, said earlier this month that "I think the Russians are not a near-term military threat," while noting they had "renewed" military flights over the polar region. This is the route U.S. or Russian bombers would travel to bomb the other's country. "I think we do have to make sure, you know, post-9/11 world, that we never let an unidentified aircraft come into our airspace, and that we determine who they are and what they're doing, and if it is a Russian aircraft on a training mission, we allow them to continue to do their job," Gen. Renuart said on WUSA-TV's "This Week in Defense News." Although Gen. Renuart downplayed the incursions, other air-power authorities said Vladimir Putin, as Russian president, began flexing his military's muscle last year as a message to Washington. "Putin is trying to get the military rejuvenated and trying to show they are a military power," said retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas G. McInerney, who commanded NORAD's Alaska region. "He's doing it for a whole host of things. It's really muscle-flexing." When told that 18 Russian incursions had been reported in 12 months, Mr. McInerney said, "That's a lot." Mr. Putin, who relinquished the presidency in May and is now prime minister, has been at odds with President Bush over NATO expansion and the invasion of Iraq. At times, he has made strong anti-U.S. statements that stirred Cold War memories. A NorthCom statement to The Times said, "Russia has indicated in open press reporting its intention to proceed with navigation and operational training." Mr. McInerney said the incursions are the most sophisticated since the Cold War. He made the assessment based on an Air Force briefing he received last fall at Elmendorf. Agence France-Presse/Getty Images PUSHING IT: A U.S. warplane (right) intercepts a TU-95 Bear, a Russian plane commonly used during the Cold War, in February. The American plane escorted the bomber away from a carrier south of Japan after the Russian plane came threateningly close. The retired general called the exercises "coordinated attacks coming into our air defense identification zone. They are very sophisticated attack training maneuvers. These incursions are far more sophisticated than anything we had seen before." He said the Russian army air force is launching Bear bombers from Tiksi on the Arctic Ocean and Anadyr in Siberia. They are flying against the air defense identification zone from both the polar caps and from the south. The Air Force statement said it has "monitored Russian aircraft taking off from a variety of air bases across their country THE POINT IS MR. Resolved Question: If I travel by air to Mexico before January 23, will a driver's license be sufficient identification?

I am a nanny and my boss just asked me yesterday if I would be willing to travel with her family to Mexico for their fishing trip so I could watch the kids. I would love to go but fear I do not have the proper identification to fly into Mexico. I have a passport but lost it years ago and never had it replaced. I have not seen my birth certificate in many years either. All I have is a driver's license. I have read on some websites that a D.L. is sufficient but on others they say you need a D.L. and a birth certificate together. The problem is that we are leaving a week from today and I don't know if that will be enough time to get my birth certificate replaced, especially in California where average wait time is 30 days. If anyone has any information or suggestions, I would be much obliged. more
