I just learned today my family is going on vacation to Aruba in April. The hotel we're staying at is fairly small. If I remember right, there are 8 buildings, each 4 floors. There is a beach behind us, but my family prefers to rent a car for the week and go to a beach 5 minutes away. There is a little resturant and some shops in the resort as well. I am going on a vaction in the middle of next year with my family. There will be a total of 8 adults and 2 children. The children will be 3 years old and the other 7 months. I am trying to find the safest island to take my family. I would also like for the island that we choose to have a wide variety of attractions. In this it will need to include spectacular dive sites snorkleing and a wide variety of shopping, for the ladies. The majority of the people have been to St.Croix, as well as aruba. Ok, so I go to University 3 hours away from home and live in residence. I want to come home Easter weekend and my family is forcing me to go with them on a 7 hour drive to a city where all my relatives live. I have finals right after Easter and get sick studying in a car so this will be a total of 14 hours wasted driving, not to mention I wont be studying as much once I'm there. It's not like I havent seent my relatives in a while either. My parents were in Aruba for 10 days and I went home on the weekend to see my friends and my grandparents were there watching the house and my 17-year old brother. They ALWAYS make the drive whenever my parents vacation which is ALOT. I just am sick of not being trusted when I have lived on my own and my reasons are legit for wanting to stay home the 4 days we would be gone. My mom never even considered letting me stay and says it will always be a definete no and how I'm "breaking my grandma's heart" when I see her like 5 times a year anyways and talk to her on the phone all the time. Am I being unreasonable here?? Also, I don't want to stay in my dorms over the break since I want to be in my own house where I study better and can see a few friends as well. more

In almost two weeks I'm going to Aruba for a 7 day vacation with my family. I know I will get a good tan because i will be in the suun most of the day weather it's swimming, laying out, rock climbing, or scuba diving. The thing is that I want my tan to last a long time. I went to Aruba two years ago and had a terrible time. I have an extreme phobia and fear or reptiles, and I kept having panic attacks while we were on vacation from seeing them all over the place. I feel if I don't go on the vacation my family will be disappointed with me, but I'm seriously freaking out. Is there any specific hotel or resort that doesn't have the iguanas all over the place?! i have a little sister who always gets this red rash whenever we go on family vacations anywhere tropical like mexico, the bahamas, st. maarten, st. thomas, aruba even florida etc. but we live in new york and it gets to be like 80/90s in the summer here but she never gets the rash here. It's red and bumpy and itches a lot and she gets it all over her arms, legs and sometimes her stomach and face. She never gets nauseous or anything along with it just itchy. I was wondering if anyone had a definite diagnosis for what this is or how we could treat it whether it be medication or alternative methods thanks so much! more

I had this dream on Friday and its been really bothering me. here it goes: My family went on vacation to some tropical island (i think it was Aruba). At the dinner that night, there was a nice very friendly waitress and my dad couldnt stop looking at her. My mom was obviously upset, and everyone else was sorta awkard. My dad went out that night and didn't come back until the morning, and his tie was loose and he lost his suit jacket. There was a little shop with all knick knacks and randomly i was playing with a toy car. There was a barbie in glass in the middle of the knick knacks. suddenly , the waitress started throwing rocks at me, and my dad didn't do anything but my mom started crying, and my brothers ( i have 3) started throwing some knick knacks at her. Then we were suddenly in a pool inside with alot of twist & turns. My brothers and my dad were there but not my mom. And then I woke up. i dont understand because from what i can tell my parents relationship is pretty stable. .. can some one please explain this? And I can prove it with my experiment. I had the same profile on 3 dating websites and I described myself as a good person, caring honest, love kids, with a good job, masters degree, have a small car, and I was looking for my future wife out there and everything. I posted 4 pictures of me. I emailed 10 girls from each website.I wasn't getting any reply from them and the only ones that emailed me back were really really bad looking and kinda desperate. I got like only 3-4 replies in a month. Then I changed my profile description and I said that I was a professional photographer shooting models for the adult industry, was driving an SUV, had a luxurious house and were vacationing in Aruba, that I didn't like kids and overweight girls, that I wasn't looking for a relationship but just fun. My profile was sounding like a real a**hole but I left the exact same pictures on. I started to receive emails from 2-3 girls a day without even having to email them first. They were flirting with me. Some commented on my profile saying that it was very attractive and "manly". Now you would say: "No kidding sherlock your profile is more attractive plus now you are getting all those girls that just wanna play or a one night stand". See that's my point and here is where it becomes interesting. I went back and looked at all those girls profiles to see what were they saying they wanted form a guy. Guess what? They all, I mean ALL, said that they were looking for a long term relationship, they had kinds so they wanted somebody that loved kids, they all wanted a NICE GUY and they all wanted a family. What conclusion can you draw from this? The only one I could was that with girls its just a big blah blah...and no matter what you do or you are, they will always prefer Mr. Troublemaker to a nice guy. No matter what they say they want. I'm stopping believing what they say, and I should probably treat them like crap instead of being a gentleman. Thoughts? more

Our favorite was Cabo (especiall because of the weather) We are looking into Puerto Vallarta, Punta Cana, Jamaica, or somewhere else in the Dominican Republic... St thomas, Aruba, Barbados and Playa Del Carmen have also been suggested... Please let us know youre experience w/ weather, night light and activities...we are hoping to go in late December... After our new years discussion, he committed to telling me when he heard from her, she lives in a different state. As a family we took a trip to Aruba, he claimed he called her and said he was going with his kids and "spouse" (never called me that before) and felt good about himself that he told her he was with me. Remember he met her in Sept. and this is now Dec. when the trip happened. I found out about her before new years. At news years time he also told me she was coming to our state for vacation in Feb. I remembered this. She called him 2/22 from airport in our town, he could not see her as he was out of town. This past Wed. he had to travel by car. He set up a lunch meeting with her at a favorite rest. of ours. Claims all they did was talk, she flirts with him saying how hot he is etc. They hugged and he kissed her on the lips like a sisiter. Beginning planning vaca for 2010. Will me me, hub, daughter will be 15 then and maybe a cousin same age. Want to go on school break either around Thanksgiving, Christmas or spring, and somewhere WARM. What's important: clean place, prefer all-inclusive, nice sandy beaches, not that rocky shore like you see in parts of Mexico, water activities, small ticket shopping-souvenirs etc, not thru the roof expensive, family oriented place, not a wild banshee spring break place. What's not important: nightlife, spa services, room service, historical ruins, rum distilleries, hardcore hiking etc. Hub won't cruise--daughter and I just returned from our first cruise and loved it but now we need to plan a family vacation. I hear Hawaii is too expensive, Bahamas are for the rich also. Jamaica was nice for a day, wouldn't want to stay there longer. Liked Cozumel except for the rocky shore. Aruba is super windy. Don't know much about FL except for Orlando and Daytona. Suggestions? Thanks!Costa Rica man you sound like my brother! He's always trying to talk me into CR too. He goes and does all kinds of crazy hardcore outdoor stuff so I figured it was all swimming with gators and drinking beer and smoking weed there. No? Hey people. My family ( mother, father, brother and ofcourse me) want to celebrate my parents 30th years of marraige. Im studying abroud and since i went abroud for my study we didn't all travel together as a family. So we want to celebrate this celebration together. But we cant think of any good destination. I study in europe (Netherland/Holland) and my family live in the caribean (Aruba). So the destination need to be reachable for both sides. I dont want an destination in Europe or asia.
