My husband and I are planning a vacation in the end of May for four days. We want to go somewhere the water is clear and warm (80 degrees F) and the weather is good. Resolved Question: Helped peel friend's sunburned back, she said it "felt good." Is this normal?

A friend of mine just got back from her vacation in Aruba. She got REALLY sunburned on her back and she wanted me to peel her back once it started to peel. I had done this numerous times to my mom after she would get sunburned when we would go to the beach so I agreed but wore gloves since I didn't feel comfortable touching someone else's dead skin. Anyway, as I peeled away both small and large patches of dead skin off her back she said as I peeled that it "felt good." Since the skin I was peeling was dead, should she have felt ANYTHING as I peeled? Whenever I've peeled my mom's back she never says she feels anything!! Ok. Getting hitched, and me and my guy always go for the vacations that end up leaving you tired when you come home... backpacking in italy or gem mining or ust alot of planning involved in trips. I just learned today my family is going on vacation to Aruba in April. The hotel we're staying at is fairly small. If I remember right, there are 8 buildings, each 4 floors. Resolved Question: My Ex is still trying to control me and he is out of town. Help !?

My ex just went away to Aruba. A trip that had to be planned in advance because you have to take a plane and he had to make sure his time share was available. He did not tell me about this trip or when he was going. We have joint visitation and per our court order he had it listed that "each parent is allowed one vacation a year without our child," which I'm fine with. (not to mention he has already taken his 1 vacation this year and I choose not take mine without my child) When I emailed him to get it in writing about the dates of his trip, I remined him I was 9mths pregnant and I just need to put arrangements in place for our 8 year old in case I go into labor. Example: so she can be picked up from school. The day after Thanksgiving I sent this email with know response from him. I found out from my 8 year old when she said "Daddy is coming over to say goodbye." That he was going away that night and that she was going to go to his mothers to cover his visitation days. He never told me. His mother then tried to get out of watching her, which was know surprise, knowing her history. My 8 year old got extremly nervous and was afraid daddy was going to get mad. I was scared to keep her home because of how aggressive he is to me, but wanted to since I would rather have her with me all the and was relived when his mother declined to watch her. I figured that her father can't get mad at me now. My 8 year old knowing how her dad yells at me all the time, tried to avoid the future conflict and hid to call her Nana- then pleded to go over her house. In the end, I felt bad for my 8 year old and allowed her to sleepover her Nana's house, with the agreement it would be for one night. I just got a text message from her father demanding that our daughter stay at his mothers, that I am not to pick her up and that he already told me where she would be. - the problem started because he never told me He is in Aruba, out of state and I want to pick my child up and feel there is know reason for her to be at his mothers when I am perfectly capable of watching her and want to. If he had called me to tell me of his anticipated vacation I would have told him that I want to have her. He choose not to tell me. It seems like he was planning on leaving for his vacation without telling me and then remembered I was due to go into labor and he got nervous, probably figuring this would look good for me in court, if he left on his visitation days. Now I want to go pick her up tomorrow, but since I am afraid of him I am nervous for when he comes home that I am going to get yelled at or that I am going to get abusive text messages until he returns home. I am pushing 30 and am trying to work on sticking up for myself when it deals with him, but it is so tough when my 8 year old unintenionally gets put in the middle. What would you do ? more

Resolved Question: HELP! I've got 2 free plane tickets and want to plan a vacation, tropical and inexpensive, where would you go?

THIS IS A BIT LONG< READ ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE TIME TO HELP ME DECIDE: THANKS! First of all I don't want to sound like I am complaining here, just confused on where to go. I realize I am very lucky to have the tickets! The plane tickets are for anywhere in the U.S. plus Cancun, Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Aruba. Most of these places outside the U.S. would be too expensive though in terms of hotel and food for me right now for two people, so where else in the mainland U.S. could I visit that is somewhat near a nice beach, maybe some shells, and isn't too expensive for a hotel there and food? I only have about an extra 1,000 for a 3 day trip somewhere for the hotel and food and spending. All I want to do is spend some quality time with my husband and sit and watch the waves, drink a tropical drink at a tiki hut, swim in a huge pool and possibly take a boat out to a little island to find some shells. (Otherwise I also have free hotel rooms at any Harrah's hotel in the U.S. so I guess they have Harrah's in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New Orleans, Phoenix, and other places more inland in the U.S. That would be very cheap then since I would then have free air and hotel, but none of those places is really that tropical!) I could also choose to fly to New Orleans or Miami and try a 4 day cruise. Upside of that: fairly cheap and could see Key West AND Mexico ! And lots of food all included in the price Downside: I've never been on a cruise , sometimes there are hidden costs to consider, tipping, extra excursion, etc. and I wouldn't get into the pool with tons of people, no privacy, and could seem like I'm stuck on a boat with a bunch of drunks since I heard the 4 days cruises are "party cruises". Again see I'm totally stuck on what to do and where to go with these tickets! Anyway if I don't do the Harrah's free hotel thing or the cruise then, I was thinking possibly Pensacola, Florida since it is supposed to be cheaper and they still offer the touristy things to do there, but not sure if that might be too boring. Do you have other ideas that could work? I wouldn't mind using the free tickets to California but then the hotel prices are just too high. And Virginia Beach is supposed to be nice but I'm not sure if it is expensive to visit and I know it won't be as tropical as Florida or Cancun of course since there will doubtfully be tiki huts and tropical drinks/ not sure though? Also lots and lots of people say go to Cancun but I worry about a few things: crime to and from the hotels, crime at the hotels, crime going to dinner in the cities and I'd hate to see children begging on the beach on my vacation or stray dogs starving to death running down the beaches. If you've gone there, is that what you've encountered ever? Some previous yahoo people said that was what it was like, not fun for a vacation then. Someone recommended a place calledCancun Palace (p.s. my research shows: Le Blanc in Cancun looks amazing if you have more money than me for the trip!), someone else said Myrtle Beach, others Key West? Has anyone been to Key West lately, do you have any quiet beaches or are they all packed with crazy tourists? If I can't come up with a trip that my husband would also like, then he said I should just use one of the tickets to fly to my niece's wedding in Minneapolis and wait for the other ticket for something else ....BORING use of the 2 tickets I say, and then I might never go on the somewhat more "romantic" and "relaxing" trip with my husband. I think I'd rather just pay for the wedding ticket for myself separately.Sooooo ...... if you could go anywhere, where would you fly for a fairly inexpensive vacation with my 2 free tickets? I'm totally stumped on what to do and where to go! I am going on a vaction in the middle of next year with my family. There will be a total of 8 adults and 2 children. The children will be 3 years old and the other 7 months. I am trying to find the safest island to take my family. I would also like for the island that we choose to have a wide variety of attractions. I have two cruises in mind, both of which leave the same day (April 9th, 2010) and from the same port. I have never been on either of these. My bf and I would be going. We're both 24 and have only been on one cruise, which was Carnival for 7 days and we LOVED it. We will be going to relax and have a great time and memorable vacation. I just had the vacation of a lifetime in the small caribbean island of Aruba. = My sister graduated medical school there so thats pretty much the reason i went down. But wow her friends were amazing so nice better than my friends. They talked to me smile , and hey some of that included a few cute boys .:P. Like its so hard to explain it was amazing. No one has treated me that nicely and kind....when i left i cried. Now everytime i go on my facebook wall its filled up with message abotu how they miss me..my friends never did that when i left. Now they're asking me if i wanna come down there for school . I want to but im unsure. It's a life desicion im scared to make. I start college in the summer but i also could apply for med school as well (pre-med). I don't know im just sick of my city my friends treat me like crap and i don't feel like living here anymore. However i don't want to make a wrong desicion. In college i planned to upgrade more sciences ( i didn't take bio or physics..chemistry was enough for me!). Should i just play it out for college or move on with my life so to speak. I like seriously feel so worthless here, i am completely depressed. Its like the people here treat me like crap , i've been teased all my life (im 17) and one point or another. But there everyone is accepting.My friends aren't really my friends i just wish i knew what to do. Like i don't really have motivation to become a doctor. My boyfriend and I are looking to get away in September and would like to go to the Caribbean (not Mexico). I have been looking into several destinations but can't really decide where the best place is. I have looked at Punta Cana, Jamaica, Aruba and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Here are our must haves: 1) Warm water is a must. Warm like the Caribbean (Aruba, Bonaire), not cooler like Hawaii 2) My husband and I want to go somewhere new. We have been all over the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, Europe, and North Asia (Hong Kong, Taipei, Korea) 3) Beach access to good snorkeling and/or scuba diving. Boat diving is fine, but we are not looking for a seven day scuba dive boat trip. We have no children, so no children requirements. We also can go anytime in 2010, so please also suggest a good time when to go (best weather, warm, etc). E.g. I read that Maldives is great in Feb,Mar,Apr. I have been thinking about Maldives, Bali, Bora Bora, or Cook Islands, but everywhere looks soooo beautiful. We (my husband and I) are open to suggestions for somewhere beautiful. Thanks everyone.We are also looking to go for 12-16 days. We also LOVE having the option to visit two places. For example, for our 16 day honeymoon we visited two Caribbean islands, Aruba and Bonaire. I'm going to Aruba June 18th. I'm supposed to start my placebo pills the 17th but I do not want my period on my vacation so I stopped taking my pill Saturday and will start taking it again on Wednesday. I normally start a new pack on Monday. When I continue taking my pill, I'll start from Saturday in my current pack, and continue on to a new pack, and then take the placebos from that pack when I'm supposed to. Will this in any way jeopardize protecting me from pregnancy if I have unprotected sex? Also, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex Friday night. I'm still good even if I didn't take a pill Saturday right? hello, every summer i drive to a few beach spots in a rental car, but im out of cool spots too go too! my girlfriend wants to go too cancun or aruba, bahamas etc. i love the look of those spots for a vacation, but i hate flying! its so boring, and i get extreme perplexing anxiety from hell that freaks me out! i had to fly when in the military, but i was young at 18, now i dont trust people like pilots especially as they would smell like booze in the military! what does one do with a terrible fear of flying! man its so bad that i was in sarasota florida and i got off the plane and my girlfriend flew without me, she was way pissed! flight anxiety keeps me from travelling to some of the best places in the world! i wish it didnt bother me man, any real advice? alcohol and zanax aint workin... more

Resolved Question: Daughter's lack of dates worrying me?

I'm going to try and keep it short. I'm not sure if I am overreacting which I am told I usually do, or my daughter is giving me a reason. She is 16yo and to date she has not brought home a boyfriend and she's giving off a vibe that raises a keen sense in me she may be lesbian and I wouldn't know what to do. All of her best friends are boys and I have known them ever since they were six, and they all are very nice. I wish my older daughters (19,20 yo) brought home the same; but never did. She claims they are all her friends and would never be in a relationship with any of them because it would be weird. However there has been about a dozen different girls coming to my house over the past year that I would see a couple of times and then never again and she would claim they were friends too. My older daughters at the table would go over their issues with their boyfriends, whom bother me sometimes, but when they tease my youngest she would claim she has no time between basketball, drama club, and work to be dating... like she's always putting off the subject. Nominally I wouldn't force my daughters to date because I don't know what is out there nowadays; but she shows no interest or anything. The big thing though making me crazy is that I catch her sneaking glances. Whether at the mall or in a restaurant together, and even on vacation recently to Aruba, I notice she looks at girls sometimes as they pass and it irks me. I can't talk to her because she favors my husband and we rarely ever spoke. I'm thinking about searching her room but I'll never hear the end of it if I find something but I would be so upset because she is an adorable, energetic, and smart girl and I wouldn't want something to put a big label over her or a target.
