FYI* Princess will leave! Aruba: The city is beautiful! We took an 4 hour excursion from the ship to the Depalma Resort Island and it was well worth the cost. It was all inclusive resort : free food, drinks, snorkeling, water-park, and banana boat ride.

Voting Question: Aruba resorts in August?

My fiance and I are traveling to Aruba in August. We are stuck between the Occidental and RIU resorts. Occidental includes activities into their all-inclusive package, however RIU seems to be a better resort. It seems that RIU has activities, just not included in the package. Does anyone know about how expensive these may be? We are rather go to RIU if the activities are not extremely high in American dollars. Also, how does the currency exchange in Aruba for American dollars? Does it make things less expensive? Please help. Any advise? more

Resolved Question: All-inclusive Caribbean May 3-13 2012?

I need some help. I am looking for all-inclusive for 2 girls (no need for adults-only resort) from May 3-13 2012 within $1200 from 3.5-5 star hotels. We need something that includes flight/food, but that isn't isolated and gives access to tons of sports/activities (windsurfind, skydiving, parasailing,snorkeling, etc.). NO Cuba, Mexico, Dominican Republic as they've been done too often. Ideal locations: Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Bahamas, St. Maarten, Panama, St. Lucia. Dates to leave: May 3, 4, 5 OR 6 only. Resolved Question: Best Caribbean vacation?

My family and I are trying to find the perfect vacation for this summer. We will most likely be traveling from mid to late June for a week to 10 days. We are looking for a vacation that has the most beautiful beaches, but still offers things to do. We don't want an annoying trip surrounded by a lot of tourists and planned out days, but an inclusive hotel/resort with things offered would be nice. Snorkeling, parasailing, horseback riding on the beach, vegetarian friendly restaurants, some shopping, spa, things to do during the day as well as great beaches, etc. Our budget is comfortably between $5000-$8000, and cannot exceed $10000. I have been looking a Turks and Caicos, Anguilla, Aruba, Barbados, Grenada, and the Cayman Islands. If anyone has tips, that would be great!We want the option of going out and doing a bunch of things or just relaxing on the beach and getting a drink and a massage. more

I’m an early 30-something female traveling alone this winter from NY. Is there a particular Caribbean location that’s well-suited for single, female travelers? I don’t want a party vibe with 20-year olds and I don’t want to be around families with kids. I really just want a relaxing trip where I can read, get daily massages, watch a few shows, and enjoy life in a tropical location. I’d like to go to the Bahamas or Aruba, but am open to other ideas. Resolved Question: Nice and cheap honeymoon in December 2012.?

We are looking for a cheap but fun honeymoon location. We would like it if its not in the USA. We really would like to go to France. We would like it to be 10-15 days. I found one for approximately $2700 for 2 weeks in France. That does not include food or anything to do just airfare and hotel. An all inclusive vacation would be great. Now I said we really want to go to France, but we don't have to Hawaii, Barbados, Aruba, or Mexico or anything like that would be great. We will be living around the Boston, Ma area at that time. We don't really have a budget amount or anything but the cheaper the better because we will be spending so much on the wedding, not sure if we will have too much left if any for the honeymoon.Another thing, we are having our honeymoon in December when its cold. Resolved Question: Should I go to Aruba or Punta Cana or Riviera Maya?

I have been to Punta Cana all and cancun and absolutely loved it bc I really like all inclusive and plus their beaches are just beautiful. I like the idea of not have to carry money/credit card around to pay for food and drinks. My next choice was Aruba but their all inclusive is really expensive and non all inclusive (bucuti and tara suites) looks too quite for me. I like more night life and nice scenery to take pics around the resorts b/c i like to dress up nice for dinner. Bucuti is nice with a nice beach but it doesn't look luxurious enough for me to take picks and enjoy night life. Im thinking about going back to punta cana (irberostar grand) or Riviera maya (Valentin imerial resort) both are luxurious and all inclusive (cheap). What do u think? or any other suggestions? more

Me and my mother are going on a vacation this Christmas break. My mom only likes places that are warm and I like different or exciting. I want to come back with good stories. I have already been to Aruba, and the Dominican Republic. In Dominica we went zip-lining through the rain forest. I like things like that, zip-lining, scuba diving, caving, hiking. Adventurous things. I wanted to go to the Mayan ruins in Mexico but my parents say it is "too dangerous" in Mexico. Any other Ideas? ALSO My family really likes all inclusive resorts. (We live in Canada if that helps)Ya sorry but Whistler is still FARRR to cold, and winter sports won't work. my mom is scared of the cold that is why we pack up and head south every winter. I am getting married in September and would love to go to the Caribbean for our honeymoon. My fiancé and I have never been to an island (except the ones in Georgia, St. Simon's, etc...) I know September is hurricane season but I am determined to find a nice place to go and hopefully luck up and miss any bad weather. Has anyone ever been in Sept and can tell me about their stay? I'm looking for an all inclusive resort, swim up pool bar, relaxing ( not crowded) beautiful crystal beaches where someone will serve you drinks and fun nightlife. I am especially interested in finding out about dining costs and activities costs for the three islands comparatively. Examples for prices would be very helpful and most appreciated. I have been searching through all the forums and have found no clear comparisons of the three. I plan to go next August, so I am trying to book early, but since I don't want a cruise this time(due to my plans not really working for it) I need to compare the individual islands. An All-Inclusive is possible depending on the AI.This vacation is a combination birthday bash(if I can talk friends into going) and last vacation for about 4-5 years(other things will take up my time after this), so I want to enjoy myself. I am planning to spend quite a bit of time in the water, so the heat won't be an issue, but being a southerner I am used to hot summers with high humidity, but at least in the islands I would benefit from an ocean breeze. more

Resolved Question: All Inclusive Caribbean Resorts for two, under/around $2,000?

Any suggestions on any all-inclusive resorts in the caribbean would be appreciated. My wife and I went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon through a Sandals resort. We loved it. We were looking to go to Sandals Negril in Jamacia this March. Well, 2 people for a week is around $4,000 which is about double our price. We haven't traveled much at all yet, so what are other good resorts that aren't as pricey as Sandals? Any island other then St. Lucia (because we've been there) would be great. Jamaica, Aruba, Bahamas anything down there that is all inclusive (food, drinks, alcohol). I know I can google things, but I'd rather have personal recomendations. Thanks for the Help! more

I have an opportunity to go to Aruba later this year and the package available to me has some specific hotel choices. These are my final two choices for the second half of my vacation(I will be spending a few days in a high rise as part of the package as well).
