Bahamas Drinking Age Questions asked
Voting Question: what do i need to do after being sexually taken advantage of?
i was on my senior spring break with my friends. please do not judge, i have worked hard throughout high school, am going to the college of my dreams next year, and just decided to let myself relax and have fun on this trip. the last night we were there we decided to go clubbing at the hotel. my friends and i went drunk, but had made a pact to stay safe and stick together. that didnt work out well.. a guy came up to me and we started dancing, and before i knew it his hand was up my dress. i was so drunk i really didnt know how to say no, and he led me off the dance floor and to his room and i just stupidly and blindly followed him. normally im a bit of a prude. before this trip i had never gone further than making out with boys. he took my clothes off and put me on the bed and i told him "im a virgin im really scared and im really drunk." he told me id be fine and i asked him if he had a condom, and he said he did and went away and came back so i thought he had it on. i dont know the difference, ive never had sex or done anything like that with boys before. he didnt have one on and turned me over and just started. he didnt believe i was a virgin, even though the whole time i kept saying "im a virgin im a virgin." at one point he stopped and i just curled up and said "im really drunk" and he just kept going and asked if he could take a video. i said no but i think he still took pictures. his friends walked in and after he was done he helped me put my clothes on and asked me to give his friend a good night kiss so i did. i dont know why, i was so drunk and just followed everything he said. then i left the room. the second i left i was so hysterical and crying so hard that i didnt think to check the room number i just ran back to the lobby. i know it wasnt rape because i never said "no" or "stop." but if he took pictures of me without my consent, that is a crime is it not? i was at atlantis in the bahamas, which is a huge hotel, but i can narrow down the rooms because i know what tower it was, that it was in the upper floors, and that it was not a normal room-- it was more like a penthouse. i can definitely narrow the guests down because i know what night their first night was, even if i dont know their names, and i know roughly what age they were/who was staying in that room. will the hotel help me if i tell them the whole story? i need to know who this guy is. i took next choice as soon as i got home, 25 hours later, but i need to get in contact with him to make sure he does not have stds and for my own mental health, i want to at least know the name of the guy i lost my virginity to. i dont want to legally pursue him at all, i dont even know if i can. i just want to get in contact with him and know that im safe and know his name. also, if i call the atlantis hotel from the us, are those international charges? i cant rack up a huge bill because then my parents will be suspicious and find out. moreVoting Question: will the hotel help me if i was sexually assaulted there?

Alright so my friends and I are planning to go on a cruise in July or August. It's gonna be me and 3 other college friends. We range in age from 19-21. We're thinking like a 4-5 night cruise to the bahamas or cozumel and grand cayman. I was just wondering what cruise line you would recommend for us? I mean...we're not gonna wanna sit around and talk about politics with 65 year olds while drinking tea. I guess what I'm asking is, what cruise line is most fun for my age group and gonna have the most girls our age? I know that Carnival is recommended by a lot of people, but they'd force us to have someone at least 25 years old in our cabin to babysit us, so thats a no go. Opinions please? moreResolved Question: Drinking age for the Bahamas?
My boyfriend and I are traveling to Abaco Island in June, and he's 18, but we were wondering about the drinking age? We will be staying at the Treasure Cay Resort. I was just wondering if anyone had any information about this. I've been to different websites and some say they don't care and some say if your staying at a resort they do. -Thanks- moreResolved Question: Would you want to save your marriage if your wife cheated on you?
. I have a friend of mine at my job, that's going through a really hard time. His wife cheated on him, and he keeps going on and on about "saving his marriage," and I just don't understand it! Mind you, I have never been married, and I don't have any kids yet, but if MY wife cheated on me... ESPECIALLY in the manner that it happened to him... I would NEVER even consider trying to "save my marriage," to me... that's like trying to unscramble eggs. Its done, plain and simple. Just to highlight for the moment... the sheer insanity of my colleague's personal "save the marriage" campaign... Let me tell you HOW his wife's indiscretions went down. Basically, he and his wife went on vacation in the bahamas. They went on a fishing boat, and one of the young (22 year old), black, attendees on the ship took a liking to her, and the feeling evidently was mutual. The guy was tall, dark, muscular, and good looking, and while they were out fishing, he tells me that he caught his wife shamelessly flirting, and outright fawning over the young Bahamian man. She walked off complaining of "sea sickness" to go down into the cabin area to continue drooling over the much younger Bahamian guy. Later, when he questioned her about it... she downplayed the whole issue, called him a jealous idiot, and made the whole ordeal sound like a case of harmless healthy flirting. And, he believed her. He and she are both your classic white suburbanites. He's 39, and she's 32... they're both attractive successful people. But, he really looks his age, he's not very tall, and has a small thin build. She looks younger than her age, and she's tall, blonde, and beautiful. And, he's crazy about her, and I 'thought' she really loved him too! SO... then, eight weeks AFTER their vacation, he receives a package in the mail. It was a dvd. When he popped the dvd in, and watched it... It was a video of his naked drunk wife, being "extremely" intimate with three large young Bahamian men, including the young man from the fishing trip... who in the video are taking turns with his wife, while they repeatedly mock him, and his physical/sexual prowess. And, of course had the audacity to record it, and send it to him! He claims his wife was genuinely sorry, that she didn't know she was being recorded, and doesn't know how they knew their address. My response was WHO CARES how sorry she was!?!?!?! She blames the alcohol, the feeling that she's getting old, and a moment of weakness (BS). I say there is a five letter word that explains her just fine, and it starts with a "W" and is followed by an "H" an "O" "R" and ends with "E." The desire to "save" THAT marriage is TOTALLY incomprehensible to me! I have tried to reason with him, and he knows exactly where I stand on this, but he's going to take her back... and, it sickens me to know that! But, of course its his life, his "wife," and his marriage, and I can only do so much. He has been totally faithful to her, and they've been married six years, and have two little girls. He insists that he's not just trying to stay together for the kids, but I think he's really crazy!!! I mean when this thing first hit... he was at my house drowning in beer, and as far as I'm concerned she's a dirty W****, and she'll have him drowning in beer again and again. SO my QUESTION is... AM I THE CRAZY ONE??? OR, is my friend the crazy naive fool that I think he is??? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS, COMMENTS, AND OPINIONS??? . moreResolved Question: What is the legal drinking age in the Bahamas?

Drinking ages? Prices?
So my fiance' is leaving for the Navy in May and we want to plan a cruise for the two of us in March for my spring break and one last vacation before he leaves for a long while. He turned 21 last year and I am currently 20 and won't be turning 21 'til August. I was just wondering what are the drinking policies on cruises. I know when some are in U.S. waters it is still 21 but once you go out of U.S. waters the ages change to 18. Or some cruises allow 18-20 year olds to drink wine and beer but not hard liquor which I think is a fair compromise. Some cruises I know don't allow drinking under the age of 21 - no exceptions. I would preferably like a cruise where I can actually consume alcohol on the ship at some point in time if at all possible so I don't have to just go to bars in Mexico or something. I know this might sound a little naive but I really know nothing about cruises. My parents wouldn't be attending so when some ships ask for parental consent for people to drink..do I really have to have my mommy come with me to say that she allows her 20yr old daughter to drink? Can I have like a parent's note? haha. I also understand that even if a website says something, cruise ships can operate a little differently. I have never been on a cruise so if you are docked in the Caribbean, Bahamas, or anywhere in Mexico how long are you typically docked there? I know it's different for every trip but just a general idea? Does anyone know the list of cruise lines where they do allow drinking under the age of 21 outside of U.S waters? What is your experience with cruises? I am not just going to drink of course but it would be nice to sit in the sun with a nice fruity drink or a beer or something. I just want to consider my options :) Any information about cruises, drinking ages, and prices will be very helpful! :) Thanks! moreResolved Question: Norwegian Cruise Line for College couple?
My fiance and I (ages 23 and 24) would like to go on a cruise sometime between now and June. We are looking at Norwegian because we found some cruises leaving out of New York for pretty good prices (450pp for a 7 day to the Bahamas and Florida). We live in New England so the fact that it leaves out of a New York is a huge plus for us since we save about 400-500 on plane tickets. We can probably only afford 2500 in total for everything (cruise, extra fees, shopping, excursions), and want to spend less than that if possible. We aren't really picky or crazy. We don't really get drunk though we enjoy having a few drinks. We aren't food snobs and enjoy quantity probably over quality in a lot of cases (not to say that gross food would be acceptable). We are moreso concerned about having enough activities to keep entertained. My fiance has never been on a cruise or even out of the region before so I want this trip to be special. So given that would the Norwegian be a good choice? Are there any other cruise lines you'd suggest that would actually meet our price budget (if we have to leave from florida our budget will be 2000 instead of 2500). moreResolved Question: legal drinking age in bahamas?

So this is kind of restricting, I hope someone is willing to skim through! Any ideas are appreciated :-) We want to go somewhere warm, with a beach. We live in Norway and are in desperate need of sun! :-P It should be near Europe because it would be too expensive to fly all the way to those areas that students in the states like (Bahamas, Mexico) Preferably somewhere that doesn't have a very strict drinking age! ;-) Also, most of us have already been to Spain and kind of want to try something new, but it's the main place I find when researching. Aaaannd of course, it should be pretty safe! It'll be our first trip without parents, and they're such worriers! :-P Any suggestions? :-) moreResolved Question: Which is a better party island?

We're a middle-aged couple getting married next year and traveling in July. (We don't care how hot the area is in summer, and hopefully we'll be off season some places.) We live in California, but would like to go to a beach resort - we're not picky about where it is, just that the hotel or resort has: 1. Crystal clear, relatively calm, warm water beach. Hotel has to be right on the beach. 2. A spa on site 3. Excellent food (my fiancee is a real foodie) 4. Newer or updated rooms with luxury touches like a jetted tub. Would be nice: Romantic touches like dinners on the beach, private cabanas, private courtyard, garden or plunge pool. Good snorkeling or diving. We don't care about nightlife, clubbing, or other resort activities. We're happy to just enjoy each other, the beach and the spa all week. That said, we're not opposed to a lively resort, as long as it's not a "drink till you puke" crowd. We'd like to stay around $500-600 per night for the hotel room. Basically, we have more upscale tastes than we can afford! I can find what I'm looking for in the $1,000 a night and up category, but not in our price range. Any suggestions? We're looking for suggestions from people who have actually stayed in the resort that fits the definition, not just answers from people like "try the bahamas, aruba, etc." If you know of a romantic, upscale little beachfront gem that might work for us, we'd be so grateful for your answer. Many thanks! Kate moreResolved Question: please help with these problem 10 POINTS?
1.The goal of the temperance movement was to A)give women the right to vote. B)put religion in public schools. C)outlaw the drinking of alcohol. D)obtain equal rights for minorities. 2.Use this passage to answer the following question. History of Woman Suffrage Excerpt from the Introduction Edited by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and Matilda Joselyn Gage It is often asserted that as woman has always been slave—subject—inferior—dependent, under all forms of government and religion, slavery must be her normal condition. This might have some weight had not the vast majority of men also been enslaved for centuries to kings and popes, and orders of nobility, who, in the progress of civilization, have reached complete equality. This excerpt deals with opponents of suffrage who claim that because women have always been treated badly, they should accept this treatment as normal. Which answer best describes this argument? A)It is a weak argument: It has little to do with votes for women. B)It is a strong argument: It clearly explains the superiority of men. C)It is a strong argument: It uses the past to justify making no changes. D)It is a weak argument: It suggests that no one's life should ever improve. 3.Jonathan Walker was best known for which of the following? A)Creating the first station on the Underground Railroad B)Helping slaves cross the ocean to reach the Bahamas and freedom C)Escaping slavery and then becoming a conductor on the Underground Railroad D)Fighting off crowds who wanted to destroy a printing press used for anti-slavery pamphlets 4.Why did about half the infants born to enslaved parents not live past the age of one? A)The parents were forced to work instead of caring for the infants. B)Infants could not tolerate the high temperatures as well as adults. C)Adult and child slaves suffered from terrible malnutrition constantly. D)Most infants died from contagious diseases like malaria and cholera. 5.Use this passage to answer the following question. The Cotton Gin Andrea Brecheen The cotton gin was one of the most amazing and tragic inventions of early America. The cotton gin is credited to the brilliant and creative American inventor Eli Whitney. Because Whitney's invention made cotton harvesting easier, it allowed farmers in the South to increase production. The cotton gin simplified the process of removing the cotton from the seeds, a process formerly done by hand. As a result, Southern plantations increased their production of cotton from 750,000 bales in 1830 to 2.85 million bales just 20 years later. Because of the increase in production, the farmers in South became even more dependent on cotton for revenue. This new reliance on cotton increased the need for slavery. More slaves were needed to farm the ever expanding cotton plantations. If Whitney had known the effects his invention would have on slavery, he never would have created it. Read the passage. Which sentence from the text is an opinion that needs more support to be considered valid? A)As a result, Southern plantations increased their production of cotton from 750,000 bales in 1830 to 2.85 million bales. . ." B)If Whitney had known the effects his invention would have on slavery, he never would have created it. C)"Because Whitney's invention made cotton harvesting easier, it allowed farmers in the South to increase production." Hi, I live in The Bahamas and I'm 17. The drinking age is 18 here but people don't really care so I can go to pretty much any club if I wanted. Well since Nassau (The capital island) is getting dangerous and that's where I live, my mom sent me to boarding school. While in boarding school I realized that being from The Bahamas is actually a really big thing and that I am extremely blessed. Well as a local Bahamian, you never notice how luck you are to live there. Problem: Pretty much I'm back home now for the summer and I feel that I should be enjoying The Bahamas to the full extent before I have to go back to the US! The problem is none of my friends here feel so appreciative of this country as I do now and so they don't really want to go clubbing and to the beach and get wasted because it's not exciting for them. They don't understand how great The Bahamas actually is and so they don't share the same gratitude I do. I want to go to the beach then hit some clubs and get completely wasted every day! So far since I been back I only been clubbing one night and to the beach once with my best bud. Please give some advice because I love partying and drinking and no one else here understands they won't have this forever. moreResolved Question: drinking age on cruise?

I'm 17 and I am going there a month before I turn 18 so PLEASE don't judge me. But I want to be able to drink and have a great time in the bars/clubs with my friends. I've visited the Bahamas before and there was absolutely NO enforcement of the drinking age ANY WEAR we went. Everybody says that I look like I am 18, 19, or even maybe 20. So will I able to drink alcohol while I am at the Atlantis Resort? It doesn't seem like it will be a problem. But will I be able to drink while I am there? Do they check ID's at the bars and clubs in the resort? moreResolved Question: Is Key West/Nassau Cruise a good senior trip?
My class is graduating this year and we have decided to go on a cruise to Key West Florida and Nassau Bahamas. I was just wondering if those were good places to have young adults to be. i know the drinking age is 18 in Nassau and i know my class well enough that yes, they're going to get drunk, but there will be 4-6 chaperone's with us on this trip so i'm not really worried about that. I'm more worried about the crime in those areas. Are both the Key West and Nassau safe? I've seen commercials for vacations to the Key West on TV and they make it seem great, but I would love some info from anyone that has gone there or knows anyone that has gone there. Any helpful input is appreciated. =) moreResolved Question: Norwegian cruise line?

I am 16 years old and for spring break 2011 my friends and I are going to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas for 8 days. I know the drinking age is 18 and we were wondering if we got fake ID's for the vacation that say were 18, if they will work and/or do the clubs and bars scan your ID's to make sure they aren't fake? My fiance and I are getting married the day we sail to the Bahamas, I am 20 and he is 22. I know that the drinking age is specifically 21 however does that matter since we will be married? Please no one respond if your answer isn't helpful, I am not dying to drink or anything nor do I mind it is just useful information to have. I would love to sit by the pool with my new husband and have a pina colda... that is all, so no rude comments about drinking. Also, I have been on a carnival cruise before where they did allow my sister (18 at the time) to drink, they also gave out cuban cigars while they were in international waters. So what is the difference for drinking? Thanks in advance! moreResolved Question: Legal age to drink in the Bahamas?

This Christmas I'll be traveling to the Exumas/Nassau with my boyfriend and family. I know the legal drinking age in the Bahamas is 18. But I've heard a lot of stories from my friends who say it's easy to get liquor even if you're under age. I wont be at an all inclusive resort, like they were, so I think my situation is a lot different. I was wondering how strict the drinking laws are enforced, where I would be able to purchase liquor, and if a restaurant would ID me if I were to order a drink with my meal? Also, would I be able to get into any clubs or casinos? I am 17, and only 3 months away from my 18th birthday. moreTop Bahamas Drinking Age Links
