Resolved Question: Running away from home?

Could someone runaway from home and actually survive? Lets say it's a 15 year old kid who excels with surviving in the wilderness. He makes up a story to his parents that he needs a plane ticket to visit his cousins in Miami, florida. His parents say "fine," after a whole lot of discussion. His parents drive him to the airport and escort him on the plane to florida. Then when he arrives in Miami florida with his luggage filled with tents and rope. He travels to the ferry witch takes him to the Bahamas. At the Bahamas he buys more equipment that he couldn't take on the plane like matches and stuff. He buys a small boat to get the island of Samana Cay, where the population is really low. He lives on the beach, using his vast knowledge of fishing in surviving. more

Resolved Question: Miami Caribbean or Europe?

I am planning trip in August... my first choice was Miami and maybe a 5 day cruise to western caribbean. Now i diverted that trip to go to europe because of the hurricane season. I have been both to Miami and europe before but never to caribbean. Is it worth going to miami and caribbean in august because of hurricanes? if so where in caribbean? i heard british virgin islands is nice.. or should i forget the cruise and just stay in miami? and also is there any ferries that just go from miami to bahamas or some other islands such as BVI (so you can stay there overnight unlike a cruise)? more
