Open Question: What are the top Luxurious Caribbean All Inclusive Resorts?

My Fiance and I are getting married in December of 2012. We will be honeymooning over new years eve (Dec. 30 - Jan. 6). We've been to Mexico, Jamaica and Bahamas (not together), but we want to experience someplace new, together. Here is our dream resort wish list: -High-End all inclusive (nice wines, more than 1 beer option, some top shelf liquor options, gourmet food) -Adults only (prefer couples only) -Something a little less commercial than Sandals -Great food (with multiple restaurants and bars - swim up bar?) -Relaxing calm beach with sand and either Butler service or speedy beach bar service -We love to snorkel (we are not scuba certified) -Some sort of mild nightlife (but not a "spring break" party feel - NYE event would be fun) -A romance/honeymoon package -We would love a private beachfront villa or something similar (outdoor shower/tub/plunge pool?) -Fun and interesting excursions close by Basically we went to Sandals - Negril and want something with a little nicer accommodations and food/beverage options and maybe a little further off of the beaten path I know it's pretty specific, but I've been looking online forever and I'm getting a little overwhelmed, any help would be great! Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Honeymoon Dilemma, Need suggestions!?

I really want to go to sandals bahamas. It looks beautiful and amazing. The price is around 4,000 include flights, hotel, food, and a lot of the water activities. One bad thing is I will not be able to swim with dolphins, I also like that its only adults no kids. I'm not against kids,I love them, but I prefer not hearing any screaming/crying kids on vacation. The other one is hawaii it will cost around 3,000 for flights and hotel only, but they do have swimming with dolphins. I feel like with activities and food their it will cost us more than if we go to sandals. I have always had my heart set on seeing/swim with dolphins. I figure I'm 25 and I will see them sometime. We are trying to keep the cost down cuz we do plan on having children right away. My fiance wants to go to hawaii because he knows i want to swim with dolphins. It's like I'm torn, and I have to make a decision by tomorrow to avoid the prices going up. more

Resolved Question: Help anyone whos been to Bahamas, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos?

Ive applied for a job with Sandals and pretty much have it. But they have asked that I pick one of these three islands which best suits me. So anyone who's been here could you give me some idea to what each of the places are like. I want information about the spirit and feel of the island rather than statistics. If you lived in any of these places that makes it even better. Thank you! more

Resolved Question: Are there going to like starving black people near the Sandals resort in Jamaica?

Like it sincerely grosses me out when they look through the gates at me and my boyfriend. When we went to Honduras last year I swear these little beggar boys and gross black people kept following us around or staring at us. Is it like this at the Sandals resort at Montego Bay? I really don't like it so if it is than maybe we'll look at the Bahamas. (Please tell me there aren't black people there either) Thanks! Looking forward to my vacay! :) more

Resolved Question: Travel Question - St. Lucia vs. Antigua?

I am planning our 10 year anniversary trip and I would like to return to a Sandals. I LOVE how they are all inclusive. We got married in Jamaica and I'm not wild about the Bahamas so that leaves 4 other locations between St. Lucia and Antigua. Have you ever traveled to either island? Or both? What did you like about it? Were the locals nice? Was it a safe place? Is it really expesive? Was airfair outrageous there? Any advice, good or bad would be appreciated! more

Resolved Question: Why were my parents so adamant about us booking our honeymoon anywhere except Mexico?

I understand the worry of kidnapping and the cartel going on down there right now. I understand that it is not a safe area, but I have co-workers and family members telling us that the Moon Palace is a great all-inclusive resort and we should really look into staying there for our honeymoon. This past weekend, we decided to book our honeymoon officially. I called my dad before I did that just because he's been to cancun before and I wanted to see where he stayed. He told us not to book there or anywhere. He said no place there is safe. I was mad when I got off the phone with him because we really wanted to do our honeymoon somewhere affordable. We ended up booking our honeymoon with Sandals Royal Bohemian resort in the Bahamas (which I'm actually very excited about!) and we did get a deal and it cost the same to go there as it would have to go to cancun. But I'm trying to research the dangers lurking in cancun and nothing is coming up. Does anyone know if my dad's anxiety about this is out of proportion? My mom was relieved when I told her we booked in the Bahamas too. She said she agreed with my dad that it wasn't safe at all to vacation in Mexico. sigh...Thanks Carter's mom. I know my parents are only concerned for our well-being. Maybe we'll go to Mexico someday in the future.  more

Resolved Question: Is the Sandals All-Inclusive resort in the Bahamas only for people 18 or older?

Me and my dad are planning a trip there around the time I turn 18 and I've been hearing from people that the resort is specifically for people who are ATLEAST 18 years old. Is this true? My dad has been there before and he didn't say anything about it being for 18 year olds only he just said he wanted to wait till I was just a bit closer to 18. I've also heard the alcohol is all inclusive? Does that mean open-bar with top of the line booze? Resolved Question: What is the best Sandals resort in the Bahamas?

My fiance' and I are trying to take a 6 day honeymoon in the Bahamas this coming summer. However, I've heard mixed reviews about some of the resorts, saying that they are located in extremely poverty stricken areas or areas with high crime rates. Resolved Question: All Inclusive Caribbean Resorts for two, under/around $2,000?

Any suggestions on any all-inclusive resorts in the caribbean would be appreciated. My wife and I went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon through a Sandals resort. We loved it. We were looking to go to Sandals Negril in Jamacia this March. Well, 2 people for a week is around $4,000 which is about double our price. We haven't traveled much at all yet, so what are other good resorts that aren't as pricey as Sandals? Any island other then St. Lucia (because we've been there) would be great. Jamaica, Aruba, Bahamas anything down there that is all inclusive (food, drinks, alcohol). I know I can google things, but I'd rather have personal recomendations. Thanks for the Help! more

Resolved Question: A few questions and women for girls and any advice or tips would be good.preferences?

What do you guys look for in a guy really?I am 18 6 foot 5 and have have a clean shave because soon im going to be a volunteer firefighter and hopefully become a professional later on.Do you girls like guys with chest hair or not?I seriously cannot go anywhere without a lot of people staring at me I guess it is because my size and height because I have no looks at all tbh lol. I have been working out for two months now I look average for my height but I plan on becoming a athlete with 8-16 percent body fat and 210-215 pounds within two years. What clothes do you guys prefer on men?Stay away from the shirts with sayings on them or what?most of the time I am wearing beach shorts sandals and a shirt with a saying on it that matches. If I can get the money hopefully around 400-500 dollars I am thinking of having my cousin and all of her friends go to the mall with me and give me a style or fashion make over basically lol probably sit down and give me tips on how to improve myself in everyway possible.hopefully all of us will have fun to at the mall or house.Any tips or advice oh and btw I have adhd even though I am really shy I am always hyper and can't stop talking.I know low self esteem is bad but I can't help it I member some blonde chick made eye contact with me several times and kept smiling and talking to her friend then took a picture of me about a week ago...That ruined me it does everytime that happens lol I interpret it as a very bad thing.I am one of the nicest guys ever to I love to help people to the best of my ability.I remember last week getting out of the car and pushing another guys car 150-160 feet to a parking lot off a packed road then for some reason passed out when I got home I guess I had low calorie intake and over exerted myself. It's amazing how so many people won't help each other there was probably at least 100+ cars that passed and not one helped there was a few college kids shouting at us saying nice care since the bmw probably was 50k+.I also believe in at least trying to accomplish my dreams such as being a professional firefighter and have a house and be stable for 6-12 months then have a kid or two that I know I can support if my future wife stays at home and also as a firefighter i will have 24 on 48 off so i can spend time with my family more pick my kids up from school play football or do whatever with them.I will be one of those dads that will go with there kids and jump off bridges if he wants me to come with him.I have my life planned out already basically become a professional firefighter buy a house maybe a boat have a stable income and know that i can support my wife an kids and have enough money to go out and have fun then after 25 years of being a firefighter retire then become a Therapist to help people with emotional problems since I have been through so much and still going through some.Hopefully I will have my retirement check from a pro fireman coming in and I will be making 100+ a hour as a therapist so we would be very good on cash kids would be grown and in college and we could travel anywhere the bahamas to the beaches or to London England on the 4th of July.I am also one of the most sensitive guys there is to.Any advice or tips?I would appreciate it very much!I live in Florida also so that explains a little bit of the shorts and sandals its so hot down here.Have a happy 4th of July and I wish you the best of luck in life!I also apoligize for the wall of text and bad grammar please forgive me :). more

Resolved Question: Where should we go on a romantic carribean vacation for our anniversary?

My husband and I are planning a romantic vacation to the Caribbean for our 5th anniversary. October 2011- Yes I'm starting to plan it a year and a half in advance.. I'm a planner ;) We want to go to an all inclusive resort. I want it to be romantic and somewhat secluded but would love to have some activities to keep us entertained as well. We're not golfers or tennis players... Would love water sports like Jetskiing, Snorkling, Parasailing, swimming with dolphins maybe. I would exspecially enjoy shows or some form of entertainment. Some places I have begun to cosider are: The Bahamas, Turkes and Caicos, Virgin Islands, Antigua, Domincan Republic.... I orginally was fascinated by the Sandals Resort in Nassua, but now i'm thinking I would enjoy going somewhere a little less common and maybe a little further into the carribean. My recent favorite is the Dreams resort in Punta Cana... any opinions on it? Any and all suggestions are welcome, Thank You!! more

Resolved Question: what are villas when it comes to resort island vacations?are they worth an extra 2 grand for a week? honeymoon?

my fiance and I were going to book a villa in the bahamas but it is an extra 2 or 3 thousand for the week. they seem to be more upscale but i dont know exactly what they are and there are no pictures. if it was a hut-like room or isolated room a few feet from the beach and sitting alone its one thing, but the one description said something about it possibly being on the second floor. if i wanted a room in a hotel i could save money but we'd like the privacy and intimacy of a villa if it is what we're picturing. the one we were looking at is sandals emerald bay. please help!! more

Resolved Question: Has anyone been on a Sandals All-Inclusive Vacation?

I have been aching to go on a trip somewhere tropical like the Bahamas. I have never been anywhere besides Illinois or Florida as far as exotic is concerned. I would love to just relax and forget about work for a week or two. I have been researching Sandals resorts and it looks too good to be true, but the testimonials are all very good. I want to hear from someone who has seriously been there that does not work there, and can tell me if they would honestly recommend it. I'm also curious as to if you went to a travel agent or if you had any deals with your airfare along with the vacation package. I really want to go, but I don't want to be disappointed with anything. My boyfriend would be coming with me and we do not have kids and would preffer there are not kids running around screaming and splashing all over the place if we were to go to the beach or pool. I think that Sandals is for adults only, but not entirely sure. I saw that Beaches resorts are more aimed towards families. Is this true? more

Resolved Question: How are destination weddings in Jamaica or Bahamas?

Anyone have any experiences they would like to share? My fiance and I are planning a wedding in either Jamaica or Bahamas (probably doing Sandals). Priced out some Sandals resorts in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Negril. The price seems pretty good but I don't know if it would be worth it to spend the extra for Bahamas, Antigua, or St Lucia. I know there is a couples resort in Jamaica, and there is a Sandals in St. Lucia, what about the Caymen Islands? Antigua? The Bahamas? Which of the five should we go to?
