I'm planning our family vacation for next year and that is where we would like to go. The best price I've been able to find on a room is $2,694 for a week. When you buy a room what does that include Access to? How much is dining at the casual restaurants? I've heard of a Comfort Inn across the street that supposedly you can get Access to Atlantis by staying there. Is that legit? moreResolved Question: Where to stay in Bahamas?
I have a few questions... Is it worth it $$$ to stay at the Atlantis? We have never been there before- want to snorkle and take in all that the Bahamas has to offer. Is it better to book an all inclusive? Should I book it as a package- if so, from what website? When is the best month to go? Is it safe? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Where is a good place to go on holiday?
I wanted to go to the Bahamas, but flights are around £1000 per person which is too much, so no where too far away. Rome and Venice both appeal to me, but then i would really like somewhere with a sandy beach so i'm not sure. I love Greece, but i wouldn't be sure what Island to go to. I was thinking of Majorca, but then that seems quite boring - everyone goes there. I want somewhere with beautiful beaches, lovely architecture, quite exotic, but also a bit touristy so i can speak to locals, and not too far away (i live in the UK) so i can get cheapish flights. I know its very picky, but can anyone think of anywhere like this?? Or if not, just tell me somewhere you think is a good place to holiday. Thanks! :) x moreResolved Question: Would you read this book?
Okee! I have an idea for a historical fantasy novel for teens. Tell me if you would be interested in reading a book like this: The revolutionary war has turned Cornelia Farr's world upside down. She lived in London with her brother James and her parents. At the beginning of the war, her father goes off to war as a general to crush the rebellion. Its 2 years later: James has run away from home to be a soldier. Cornelia and her mother are now living alone off the Farr fortune. When Cornelia's mother falls ill to typhus and dies, Cornelia is left alone. She decides to pack away her things and go to the colonies to find her father. To get there, she manages to buy a berth on the ship the Amanda Arden. The Arden is capitaned by the jolly David Gibson and his handsome first mate, Thomas. During the trip, Cornelia has to get used to living on a ship full of men. All is not as is looks like. Cornelia is soon informed that the vessel is a secret ship that will carry supplies from the Bahamas to the patriot forces in the colonies. While the crew assures her that she will be able to get to Boston, it will take longer. Cornelia starts to get used to life on a ship, even starts to enjoy it. One day though, her beliefs in the real and make believe are truly tested. Magical Sirens attack the ship near the Bahamas! Cornelia has to steer the ship from some dangerous rocks and in turn, send the Sirens away. Soon, she is informed, the Sirens were sent by the ancient godess of the sea, Tethys. Tethys has a secret deal with the captain from many years earlier and want to get her end of it. Cornelia, like a sensible person, does not believe this, even with the events of before. When an evil Kraken bent on sinking the ship attacks the Arden, the crew and Cornelia start believe in this. While damaged, the ship manages to continue on its missions. Everything changes when Tethys decides to make the trip to the ship herself and make sure she gets what she wants, where Cornelia finds her beliefs and courage truly tested. I wont say the ending, but I could really use anybodies opinion!PS: Please review only if you like to read! Jeez, the first 3.... moreVoting Question: Where should my boyfriend and I travel to in March?
My boyfriend and I have 6 days off coming up in March. Our original plan was to go to Vegas for a fun time but we are on a budget so want to wait Vegas off. However, we still have these days off and still want to enjoy them. We live in Miami, Florida and were thinking of going on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas.but the we are currently in Winter. My family is looking to take a vacation this summer (2010) to somewhere tropical, and not too expensive. It needs to be close to the US, somewhere near cuba, so the plane tickets aren't too expensive. I've never been out of the country before, so i'm not really sure where I'd like to go (i'm the kid in the family btw). I want somewhere that "has it all." Beaches, pools, activities and fun! We'd be going in mid to late June most likely. Any ideas? Going to the Bahamas was up in the air, but I need some more tropical countries close to home THANKS! moreVoting Question: Is this fair yes or no for an American woman?
Is this fair yes or no for an American woman? American women gave birth in the Bahamas to her daughter and do not put her daddy’s name on the birth certificate. If she does not want to give the father visitation rights she must make sure that her daughter never leaves Bahamian soil before her 18 birthdays. If she does not want to abide by US law and give the father visitations rights that she should stay in the Bahamas where she does not have to abide by US law. But if she wants to move back to the US, she will have to give the father visitation rights even if she does not want child support. In most countries man have no legal rights and obligations if they get an unwed women pregnant, and she does not allow the father to sign the birth certificate. Because the American father is not willing to respect that, he considers that child personal property until age 18, and this is very impolite in Japan. US law says that a American father can not file a paternity suit, or ask for visitation if the child is born in the Bahamas and never leaves Bahamian soil before her 18 birthday. If the child is born in the US or visit the US before her 18 birthdays, than the father can file a paternity suit ask for visitations and joint custody. Anna Nicole Smith went to the Bahamas to avoid a paternity suit by the father, and she is doing the same thing. moreResolved Question: Are you going on vacation in the summer? If so, where to?

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A fisherman has released video footage of a deadly boat chase involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. After an alleged human smuggler appeared in court Wednesday, accused of trying to bring eight men to the U.S., a fisherman released video footage of the chase that lead to his capture. The chase unfolded Tuesday night near Black Point Marina in South Miami-Dade. Investigators said the suspects jumped off their boat after trying to get away from authorities. Officials said illegal aliens from Jamaica, Trinidad and the Bahamas attempted to escape on an Intrepid power boat. Olivier Thomas captured the chase on his cell phone camera while fishing with his friends. On video, a man is seen going under water. "He started screaming, and when the cops saw us screaming, he looks over at us. He's like, 'OK, where at?' We're like, right there," Thomas explained. "We could see the guy going back down and coming up." Federal agents said, not only did they break up a human smuggling ring, but they also uncovered 60 pounds of marijuana. Thomas said the image of the man he saw drowning is hard to forget. "We saw that guy die, and that was pretty scary." The man who drowned has been identified as a 28-year-old Jamaican national. Four of the men have been charged with illegal re-entry after being deported once before. Another man has been charged with human smuggling. This guy is a great guy, great personality minus the fact that he's a bit of a girl hog. He gets any girl he wants. Well, not every girl, but he does get a lot of girls. Thats how I first met him actually. But we soon became very close friends. He actually asked me to go on vacation with him to the Bahamas. I have days where I like him as something more and days when I realize that me liking him would be a terrible idea because what if he doesn't ever stop being a player. I do care a lot for him as a friend and he is ALWAYS there for me. no matter what i need. Do you think players ever stop playing? I mean we are at the age where we should be thinking or at least hoping for something serious. Also, he's a bit afraid of relationships. He was in less than a handfull of relationships which sounds little for a 'player' but it could be he was really hurt by the first girl. Do you think he does see me as something? Maybe he doesn't want to mess up with me because I'm a close friend. My 3 friends and I want to go on a vacation in either the Caribbean or Mexico. We aren't sure where to go as there are so many places! We have decided on either the Bahamas, Jamaica, or just about anywhere in Mexico. We want an all-inclusive resort that will cost us under 1000 per person. What do you recommend?Cruises are nice, but we have decided it will actually be cheaper on us to stay in one spot, all inclusive. June is peak season for cruises, cheapest I found is 500 a person, not including airfare, since there are no ports around us. Plus, we'd have to pay for all drinks (alcohlic), pay for everything when we stop (we're going to want to buy something at each destination) and so, with all that, we have lined out cruises. They do not speak French but some African dialect that will and has not gotten them any where in the world. Haiti must adopt English. Jamaica, Barbados, Jamaica, Bahamas do not have the issues that Haiti has. They have English as their main language. Spanish would do Haiti well as a second language because they are next to the Dominican Republic. Haiti should have let by gones be by gones and developed closer relations with the Dominican Republic whom they have a lot in common with. English not French must be the official language of Haiti. Spanish must be taught as well. Not that Patois they speak.Ingrid. I speak English, Spanish, French and Arabic. I only speak proper form. I can write and read those languages as well. Haiti cannot. Cannot progress in this World by speaking a French Patois. It was all good when you "beat Napoleon." It will not get Haiti anywhere in the modern world. Please join the 21st Century and make English the official language of Haiti. Does Jamaica have Patois as an official language? Does Barbados have Patois as an official language? Does the Dominican Republic speak improper Spanish. Haiti is paralyzed by its Patois. moreResolved Question: Where should I travel?

Anyone have an opinion or have experienced either of these? moreResolved Question: Why isn't John Cabot recognized as the discoverer of North America?
John Cabot knew where he was going when he sailed, as the Bristol fishermen had already known about the western lands. Columbus thought he was in India and he only reached the Bahamas or some other islands. He was lost. Since Europeans were claiming more traditional English fishing grounds the Bristol fishermen were forced to go farther and farther west for their catches. They had discovered the rich Grand Banks of Newfoundland. There were so many fish there they kept it a secret so the Europeans wouldn't find out about it. So Cabot knew where he was going when he started. moreResolved Question: I have Sinus Problems and don't know why?
I have had serious sinus problems ever since I've been a kid. They've gotten a bit better over the years, maybe its been because I've moved to an extremely colder climate (Bahamas ---> Central NY). I find myself clearing my throat about every 5-10seconds as though something is there. It feels as though there is some kind of liquid on the lining of my throat where I am clearing it. Also I've found that my overall nose conditions are also bad, but the situation is weird. I've learned that garlic is great for the sinus especially in combination with fruit such as oranges. When eaten and digested before I go to bed my sinuses would be clear by morning. However, when I re-awake, they become bad again and in a few minutes I start having to clear my throat again. It feels as though whatever is in my throat is only going down when I'm awake? Also I also get boogers way to much-- imo. It seems as though my WHOLE nose's inner lining sheds once per day or more creating these scabby hard kind of boogers. Winters are worse than summers. Oddly enough though, I'm 100% sure its not some kind of issue with being a really sickly child though because I'm not really one to get seriously sick. I don't believe I've ever really gotten the flu or any other disease or sickness. I'm always in good enough health to walk to school, but my nose just runs extremely bad in the winter -- If I tilt my head down, It will essentially funnel out. One day I took the advice of my father and tried blowing my nose and not letting anything go down into my throat for the whole day and just wasted about a whole role of toilet paper and still felt just as bad as when I had started. I've looked down my nose, and I'm not sure if its just the normal nose structure, but I've seen what looked like growths. Sometimes I can't even see them though, but they look as though they are naturally a part of my nose. I've gone to the doctor several times about my bad sinuses and they just tell me to use Musinex (which I must say isn't as effective as the garlic) so I stopped taking his advice, which always ends up pointing towards a drug that didn't work over the period in which it was subsribed. My boyfriend and I will be going on a cruise to the bahamas in May and I REALLY want to do the dolphin adventure thing while we're there.. it's always something i wanted to do but my boyfriend already did it a couple years ago (for free! - jealous*)... so he doesn't want to pay the $185 to do it again cuz he didn't have too much fun.. i know it would be the time of my life! so my questions are (1) is there a cheaper place to do it in miami? that's where the cruise leaves from and we'll be there for a couple days (2) can he be on the jetty while it's happening even he doesnt go in the water with them or anything? so can he just be a bystander? (3) was your experience great??- tell me about it! im so excited :) thanks guys! moreResolved Question: Places you take your baby out to...?
My baby girl is 3 months old. We live in Los Angeles, and my husband and I love to take our baby out to different places. Sometimes, driving to a certain place can be very difficult, because of the horrible traffic we have here. We like to meet with friends who have young children of their own, and we go out to nice fancy restaurants with our girl. My husband and I do take her to trips, but not flying trips. She's only been on 1 trip that included a flight--and that was our trip to the Bahamas. We usually like to take her to San Diego, which is not so far from where we live. Only a 2 hour drive, actually. If not with traffic. We're planning to take a trip to San Francisco, which might be more difficult--because it is a 5-6 hour drive by car. We're thinking about taking a plane. Where do you take your baby? Does he/she like it? How are the drives to there and back? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Carnival VS Royal Caribbean (Details Inside)?
I know this question has been asked a few times, but I have a few different criteria. My wife and I are going on our first cruise. We DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE FOOD. We do want a cruise that has a lot of activities, nice pool(s), and has on overall nice looking boat. I would assume that the ground activities are the same, but if there not were looking for great land excursions. We already know where were going, the 4 days to the bahamas. Thank you for any tips you all can provide, and personal antidotes are more than welcome. moreTop Where Is The Bahamas Links
