Open Question: Could i have touched this posienous spiky type of fish?

ok now before i start every ones probably thinking by spiky fish i mean the blow up spiky fish , Well no you see i went on a cruise and we went to this beach its in atlantic waters so theres all types of fish like anything i heard someone saw a stingray but i missed it , anyways i went out REALLY REALLY far like to the point were there was this like deep part were fishes were swimming and it was kinda like an open trench i tryed to go to the bottom but my ears popped so then i went near the rocky parts so i could stand up , its not as deep and after chasing fish i thought i caught one in this really tiny deep dark hole and i stuck my finger in and it was this well how do i describe it , well kinda like a ball but spikes at the end of it i think it was red but some were also black anyways i touched it with my finger and i was like ow!!!!!! and then i got nervous i was like oh my god is this poisenous !!!!! are they poisenous!!!??!!??! oh and when i went off the rocks i went on this little tiny piece of land that i could barely stand on and it was so deep down and this fish bit me and then backed away and then bit me again!!!! when i put my foot back on the like little place were all the fish live i thought that was awkward i know what your thinking "Pirhana"!!!! no at least i dont think it was , no it couldn't have cuz it didn't like tear skin i kinda just felt the fish that bit me i felt its teeth a little but it didn't like leave any blood or anything so what type of fish could that be to...?!??!?? Anyways thanks provide most info if possible sorry i know its long p.s im 13 oh and could a shark have come in i mean i thought so because if theres all these fish and a stingray!!! in the water well then why not a shark but i think i would have noticed one yea definitely but could it be possible for a shark to swim in where all the people were swimming out really deep!!! it was like a beach area but when you go out really far its really really deep like i said i tryed to touch the bottom when i went out really really deep but before i even made it my ears popped!!!! i mean i think that a shark could of swam in that would be so scary but cool i mean we were swimming in the atlantic ocean couldn't a shark just swim in at any moment especially since me and these other adults were so far out right...!!! well thanks!!!! more

Resolved Question: Affordable Beach Setting For Honeymoon On The Mid-Atlantic?

My fiancee and I are about to elope, and we're looking for an affordable beach getaway for our honeymoon. We're hoping to find somewhere in North Carolina or Virginia. Our ideal place is similar to the Hatteras area or the eastern shore. We're big on fishing, and we'd like to find a place that is a little bit less touristy than Nags Head or Virginia Beach. Resolved Question: What is this rock that I found?

We found several rocks on the beach today. We live in massachusetts so it would be in the atlantic on the northeast side. The rocks were were black, shiny, and brittle. When thrown on the ground they smash into little pieces. We ground the rocks down into a soft black powder but the powder has begun to smell like rotten eggs so we think the rock contains sulfur. Our guess is the rock is obsidian with magnesium impurities because the rock is flaky and has some silver in it. This is all a guess but we would like to know if the rock is something different, Thanks a bunch! more

Resolved Question: I found this little creature washed up on the beach, can anyone identify it? (Pics)?

I live off of the Atlantic in Ormond By The Sea, Florida. We just had a pretty good storm and I walked the beach to see what I could find and found this little chain of three attacked shell capsules. The middle is empty, the larger creature on the right was unfortunately not alive when I found them, however the one on the left came to life as I put it in the water. I have him in a cup of fresh seawater until the ocean calms to release it, just wondering what they are? He stays inside so I guess its a shell home, opens his mouth and he has two (I believe) sheer tongue-like things. Can anyone help? I was thinking about the oil spill, and I was wondering exactly how big it is. Everyone I know is freaking out because they've been down there, but I'm not quite certain. Is it possible that it could go up the east coast of the U.S? Might it ruin all the beaches and the Chesapeake Bay? Could it possibly get caught in the Gulf Stream and go up to Britain? Could it maybe take the Gulf Stream into Atlantic currents and go to Africa? I was just curious.What sized states? Resolved Question: What was this squid-like animal?

I doubt anyone is going to know this but I was wandering on the beach tonight in Florida and we were in the water (Atlantic side) looking for fish and things like that. We found several usual fish and a few species of crabs and some anemones on the rocks but I found something small and orange hovering in the water. I managed to scoop it up and got a glimpse at it before it wriggled out of my palm. It was very small, probably two centimeters and it wasn't a fish because it had a much different body shape. It couldn't have been a jelly because that wouldn't have flopped out of my had. It swam away very quickly. I am quite convinced that it was some species of squid because from the quick glance that I got, it looked to have a skinny body and a pointed head with small tentacles. However, I cannot find anything on the internet for "small orange squid". If anyone is an expert on squids or has seen this before or has an idea of what it might be, I would love your help because it was very cool compared to what we had been finding and no one believes me because they didn't see it. Resolved Question: Got into my 1st car accident 2 days ago. I have a few questions about what happens next?

2 days ago I was driving on the Atlantic City Expressway (New Jersey) on my way to the beach. Their was a lot of cars on the road and traffic was moving about 60-70 mph. Suddenly out of nowhere the person in front of me slams on their brakes to a complete stop. I then had 2 slam on mine and tried to get into the right lane (we were in the left) and my car did like a 180 spin, not a full circle, and hit side of the car that slammed their brakes on me. Both of our cars ran off the road. My car has about $500-$2,000 worth of damage. The bumper is scratched and everything is kind of shifted to the left. Their car has a big dent on both of the side doors, the glass in the of the dented doors shattered, and they had a hard time closing the doors back, they had 2 kick the doors several times 4 it 2 stay. However both of our cars are still drivable, mine just makes a lil sound, but that's only cause everything got pushed to the left and the mechanic said he just has 2 center everything back. Police were called and they took a report. NO ONE GOT A TICKET, but the police said it's my fault. I'm 18 years old and still under my parents insurance which is USAA. I called them yesterday and explained what happened and they said im covered to pay for the damages to my car and Im also covered to pay for the damages to their car up to $50,000. I asked the lady will my insurance go sky high and she said it can go up depending on if im found liable and depending on my driving record. I'm not sure what's on my record. Last month I got a speeding ticket doing 70 in the 45 going over a bridge, however my lawyer said I dont have to go 2 court so I didnt. When the police took my info Im sure he was most likely in his car checking my driving record and when he came out he said nothing about my record or any points on it so I dont know if I have points or not. HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS: 1. How much do you think my insurance will go up? 2. Does the police not issueing a ticket change anything? 3. Does New Jersey have "no fault" meaning each party involved in the accident is responsible? 4. Will I be dropped from my parents insurance? 5. The people where from Ontario, Canada so does that change anything I guess insurance wise? 6. I have a $1,000 deductable, not sure what that means, can someone please explain? more

A group of 4 or 5 friends (ages 18-25) are going down to Virginia Beach in a couple of weeks for a long weekend (Friday - Monday) and we still didn't find a hotel. We want something that is very close to the beach, walking distance, or on boardwalk, if there is one? None of us were ever at Virginia Beach before. Please help and let me know where you have stayed or any helpful advice or any attractions would be helpful. Also, is the beach nice? White sands or clear water? I'm going to Atlantic Beach this Thursday with my older brother, his wife, and their daughter who is 2. She like to run around real far and doesn't listen all the time, and we're trying to make sure she isn't going to get hurt and that we are going to be able to catch her easily if she makes a break for it. We don't want to have to run through people and keep apologizing because we're tripping over them and their stuff, so when is Atlantic Beach in North Carolina at its most crowded? We're leaving this Thursday and going to come the Wednesday of the week after. I heard that Atlantic Beach isn't really that crowded but I just wanted to make sure that it would be okay to take a 2 year old to the beach there with the water with a lot of people and all. Do you understand our grief here? We just don't want her running off if we take our eyes of her for 3 seconds.
