ok i met my current partner at a rspca rescue kennal i saw her looking over at me with those puppy dog eyes and i just fell in love there and then. So i took her home and introduced her to my parents and i decided to call her truffles. That was 3 years ago since then we have been in a long term relationship and are very happy living together. Hey im learning russian and ive found i love more than just the language(and no im not talking about the women as lovely as they are lol) My question is about the ushanka (russian hat or literally hat with flaps) i bought one from a company in russian and i love wearing it. it came with two pins, the red star with hammer and sickle and the imperial eagle. i was wearing it with the red star but then my girlfriend kept asking if i wanted people to think i was a communist so i started wearing the imperial eagle. i looked it up and it doesn't represent anything offensive but what im getting to is. If you(a Russian native) saw a person wearing this same ushanka with either pin would you get offended or feel any kind of way about that? i like the crest and i love the hat but im planning on going to brighton beach(ive been there before but not recently) and i don't want to offend the wrong person. any insight would be really help full. thanks in advance. The main character of my story (set in brighton) is Romilly "Romi" Grace Washington, 14. She is slim with long chestnut hair, petite features, deep blue eyes. 5'6" Quiet girl. She gets rebelious when it all gets too much. She is one of five children; three brothers and a sister. Paul - 17 James - 18 Finley - 16 and Erin - 11. Romi always seems older than she is, but that's what comes of growing up with three older brothers. She was constantly trying to be as good as them. She is usually confident in herself but her confidence is knocked easily. She likes to be the best, which is why she and her best friend Maddy are an odd pairing - Maddy is a very intelligent yet crazy girl. Romi's parents, Elina and Frederick, are both successful, busy people who don't have much time for their family life now that their kids are old enough to look after themselves. Romi's three brothers are quite close-knit but Romi never really had a relationship with them. She's fairly close to Erin, as they are quite similar (don't get on with their brothers, quiet, snap every now and then.) Romi had a normal childhood apart from her little beach escapades every so often. (Only ever seems to be on cold days; she reckons the weather affects her mood.) Whenever Romi is upset, she turns to Maddy's mother, Imogen, rather than her own. Maddy's house is like Romi's safe place when everything gets too much at home. After almost drowning, Romi develops Schizophrenia and 17 year old Angeline appears to Romi. Romi's parents never have the time to listen and Romi has long since learned to just stay in the background. She is close to her father, so if he isn't at work, she enjoys spending time with him, but her mother never had time for her, so Romi never developed a proper relationship with her. Here is the basic plot for my story (it takes place in Brighton, UK) Romilly "Romi" Washington is an unhappy almost-fifteen-year-old girl. With four siblings and overworked parents, not much attention is payed to her at home. At school, she's perfectly happy, being around her friends, but school only lasts so long. She escapes from home every now and then to walk on the beach. After Romi almost drowns, she meets Angeline (please suggest other names) who claims to be a "guardian angel" though Romi suspects she's just a friendly new girl who is wild and extravagant but keeps herself to herself at school. Romi and Angeline get on well, though Angeline claims not to get on well with Romi's best friend Madeleine (please suggest another name). A while later, Romi feels different in a bad way, it doesn't take her long after that to realise that no-one else can see Angeline. After googling Angeline's name, it turned out she had died the previous year. (help with how she died? something quite tragic please. She's 17). Romi gets a little scared then, worrying about what is wrong with her. Her school work becomes worse due to her paranoia and her parents are notified though they just tell Romi to work harder. Romi looks up hallucinations on the internet then makes an appointment with the doctor after school. It turns out that Romi's near-death experience (the drowning) caused an onset of mild Schizophrenia. Her parents are notified and Romi is prescribed medication. Her parents are upset that they didn't take her seriously. Romi gets better after a while and Angeline has since disappeared, Romi misses her. Then, Romi is in a fairly serious car crash with her mother and is secretly pleased when she wakes up in the hospital bed and sees Angeline. please help with Angeline's death, her name and Madeleine's name. Madeleine description: She has long curly red hair, pale skin, brown eyes. 5'2" Cheeky young girl, rarely serious. People mistake her to be younger than she is. She is a mix of english and spanish. Her father is English and her mother is Spanish. Siblings are: Anna-Marie and Ryan. Her mother is Lolita. Father doesn't feature much. Angeline description: Long spikey deep red hair, green eyes, tall, extremely skinny. 5'8"She died when she was 17. (4 august 2009) Younger sister, Isla, 14. Got on well with her parents and sister, average school grades. Boyfriend was Nate, 18. Her parents were Michael and Allegra.Please criticise as much as you want; I need it. more

She is one of five children; she has three older brothers and a younger sister. Her parents are far too busy to pay adequate attention to all of their children. She is slim with long chestnut hair, petite features and deep blue eyes. Usually, she is quiet and just goes on with her life amidst the chaos of her big family, but every now and then, it gets too much so she walks up and down the beach for hours, it tends to be raining but there are always a few other people there. She loves to go swimming. She lives in Brighton. Nevaeh "Nev" Washington, 17, is also a main character. She has long, deep-red (dyed) hair that is jaggedly cut. Her eyes are stunning green and she is painfully skinny. She died four months before the story setting. She had a brother and a sister, and eccentric parents. She tells Mattie that she is a "guardian angel" (hence the first name) but would rather be called a friend. She is sent for Mattie, after Mattie almost drowns. It is revealed by the end of the story that Nev is not in fact a guardian angel but something quite different and potentially life-threatening for Mattie. I'm 19 in college and my acting professor wants me to audition for a local college play. Saying I look good for the part. I asked what character she meant and I found out it was a 15 year old boy. The play is called "Brighton Beach Memoirs" by Neil Simon, I believe. Now, I'm a fairly good actor and I do look young for my age. But could a 19 year old really be cast as a 15 year old? I know I could play maybe a 16 year old. Is it really that much of an age difference or am I just freaking out over nothing? my neighbor yelled at me at 2.30am tonight because i am still awake - i'm a freelance designer and was working on my computer. no tv/music - just keystrokes on my computer. she's complained about me several times to my landlord and said i make 'too much noise'. and she said, i'm 'very heavy' so my 'footsteps are loud'. (i'm 5'9", 175 lbs) she said she's going to call the police, 311 and her 'social worker'. do i have any reason to be upset? BECAUSE I AM. but i *really* feel this is insane - this is america, right??? don't i have the RIGHT to sleep when i want?? Ok, I will be honest. I used to live in england and I didn't enjoy it after living in Essex and London. People were not easily approachable, everybody lives alone and keeps themselves to themselves, distances are long which wastes ur life within the trains and buses. But I loved it in Brighton.It was very nice because: - People were approachable and more interested in each other - Loads of activities and places to go everywhere very close to each other. - Distances are close - Diverse people - Nice Beach I am from Cyprus and I got a bit discriminated too since many people confused me with Arabs ( Terrorists ). In Brighton I didn't have this. Maybe it was my chance. If there's anybody out there who's serious , please let me know is there any other place in UK which is like brighton in terms of the features I have mentioned before ? more

A tourist walked into a Brighton curio and antique shop. After looking around for a while, he noticed a very life-like bronze statue of a rat. He took it to the owner and said: 'How much is this bronze rat?' The owner replied: 'It's £12 for the rat and £100 for the story.' The tourist gave the owner his £12 and said: 'I'll just take the rat, you can keep the story.' As he walked off down the street, he noticed that a few real rats had crawled out of the sewers and begun following him. This was a little disconcerting, so he started t o walk a little faster, but within a couple of minutes the swarm of rats had grown to hundreds, and they were all squealing and screeching in a very menacing way. He increased his speed & ran on towards the beach, and as he ran, he looked behind him and saw the rats now numbered in their MILLIONS and they were running faster and faster. By now very concerned, he ran to down the pier and threw the bronze Rat far out into the water. Amazingly, the millions of real rats jumped into the water after it and were all drowned. The man walked back to relate all this to the shop owner, who said: 'Ah, you've come back for the story then?' I've lived in Wellington in New Zealand and Brighton in the UK and both of these places attracted creative & interesting people from all over the world, had great music scenes, the local authorities promoted an open minded vibe and where just great places to live. People in general didn't care what you looked like or how you choose to live your life They were also quiet compact and easy to walk around, which I like, and had beaches too What places in the US would you consider to be similar but also benefit from a year round warm climate?
