Open Question: Ladies Only: I am looking for a companion to spend time with. Someone that we can start out as friends but?

that it will eventually lead to a relationship which is what I am seeking. I am friendly, loyal, courteous, well educated and enjoy the simple things in life. The reality is that I want to be able to share my life with someone. I'm not talking about running and get married...no that is not it all. I've been there and done that as they say and I'm really not interested in walking down the aisle again...but one can never say never, who knows? but what I am looking for is a woman that I can be a great friend to and be romantically involved at the same time. Why is finding the right person so difficult? there are so many variables that one must go through, so many obstacles along the way. I am not looking for the perfect woman because I am well aware that perfection in humans is nonexistent but just someone that I can have fun with and have a great time and also become a part of her life and she will do the same. I love a woman that can stimulate me physically as well as intellectually. You don't have be a beautiful specimen or have a Ph.D in Behavioral Science but a regular-looking girl with a brain that can carry a conversation. I tend to be shy and withdrawn at first but once we get going on a given subject, I'm a very good conversalionist in all modesty. I have a Master's degree in English literature so naturally any conversation about books, writers, poets, I am going to be fascinated with. I love music: classic rock from the 60s and 70s and I also like jazz, soul, blues and classical. I like going to the movies, the theater, dinner or just taking a walk along the beach and watching the sun go down. I LOVE sunsets, I can spend a long time watching how the beautiful colors intertwine with the clouds, it makes for a spectacular and most precious celestial sight. I am romantic...yes I am. I still believe in romance and sweeping a girl off her feet with a love poem, candies, and flowers. I guess I'm kind of old-fashioned in that sense. I just want to love somebody and have them reciprocate all of that love in return. I'm really a simple guy overall. I'm not materialistic or selfish and like to share whatever I have with that special someone. I hope I can meet somebody on here. I know that this is not a dating site...believe me I've tried a few of those and so far all of my attempts at finding someone have failed. Most women that I've encountered in the last few years and the ones I've dated seem to want the same thing: MONEY and POWER. I'm sorry but I'm not wealthy and I don't have any power. They all seem to be interested in how much money I make, or what kind of car I drive or whether I own or rent my house and if I own a business. If you're that kind of woman --than with all do respect don't continue reading because I am NOT the man that you're looking for. I wish you well in your seach and hope that you find what you're looking for. I love animals (although I don't have any) but if you have a dog, cat, bird or whatever other species as long as is not extremely dangerous I'm cool with it. Children are fine although I would prefer someone whose kids are pretty much grown but if you have a child that is a minor and living with you, I will understand. I know about kids as I have three of my own. One adult 21 and two teenagers 14 and 15, so I know all about having kids and raising them. I know how difficult it can be especially if you're a single parent. I really admire women that have been forced to raise their children on their own because the father left them and don't receive any kind of assistance either monetary or emotional. I ask that any ladies that read this narrative that sounds more like an advertisement for finding love, LOL and are interested in perhaps meeting and talking with me are from Miami only. I apologize if I seem that I am discriminating against other woman that live in other cities, rest assure I am not. Is just that I would prefer that the person be from Miami which is where I live so that I won't have to travel to another city in another state to meet her, I hope that you can understand. Although any ladies that wish to give me their advice on what they thought about what I've written here is welcome to do so and I appreciate very kindly. Well, I hope to get some responses and hopefully one of those will be the lady that I am looking for. I thank you for taking the time to read this long narrative and I do apologize for its length but I needed to be clear on some of the things that I am looking for in a person and needed to be as thorough as possible. Open Question: Where should i move (USA)?

Hey. I've always had this dream about moving to USA. It have always been about these cities: Los Angeles, CA New York City Orlando, FL Miami, FL West Palm Beach, FL Detroit, MI What would say is the best? im first going there for some months and all that to try.. but Detroit has turned into a kinda miserable city now as long as i've heard so im not into Detroit so much anymore. Could you tell me whats good/bad with these cities or maybe if you could tell me any other cities that you've experienced and that was good. I'm from Scandinavia so the weather isnt a problem for me really.. with that i mean that its ok if it isnt 75~ degrees all year around. I can live with snow and such. I'll be happy for every post :)Ok, thanks for all the answers. I dont know about Detroit, it has always just been there in some way or another. How about Nashville? im not into country music or anything but it seems nice? but Los Angeles is in the lead, but ill try to go around and feel the cities if it would turn out the way that i stayed over there. I'm looking for a Miami hotel (preferably South Beach) that also has a free shuttle to both the Port of Miami and the Miami International Airport. I'm guessing that we'll fall into about about the 3-4 star hotel price range. We'll be staying a couple days after a cruise to enjoy the area, so we're hoping that we can be within walking distance of the beach. We're traveling with children ages 9 and 7. I am looking for a beachfront hotel where I can just walk out the door and be on the beach. Florida or California. I will be going in May. I don't want a busy beach. I admit the scenery in America can get magnificent (in places)....what a beautiful country. The California typography is surreal, from the Desert to the Pacific to the Redwoods to the valley to San Francisco Bay to the vineyards to the Sierra to Yosemite....to Big Sur.....to Hollywood and the celebrities.....it MAKES America! I LOVE driving across Ohio and seeing the smalltown hardworking Union industrial towns that built the backbone of America. I love the independent eccelectic sleepless New York, NY. I love the vision of paradise you sense in Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando and the Beaches of Miami. The French Culture of New Orleans. The glitter of Las Vegas. The history of the native peoples in the Dakotas, the carvings of our forefathers on the stones of Mount Rushmore. The people of the Rockies in Colorado.... the hospitality of the South The ever still grasslands of Texas The Colonial settlements and battlefields of Virginia. The slow-cooked Barbecue of the Carolinas... The serenity of America's National Parks and State Parks. The 10,000 Lakes and wooden cabins and cottages and churches, of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.... what a BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY!!!! We are blessed to live in this country. But what is with the neo-conservatives who want to take everything down and put Walmarts everywhere and bail out AIG and big companies instead of helping small businesses and poor families? what are we doing to this BEAUTIFUL country....This country is too beautiful to destroy with bad politics. We are thinking to move to another state with my husband. We just move to Tulsa, Oklahoma, because the family of my husband live here. But we didn't like it. Everything is so far away, you HAVE to have a car to go somewhere in the city, etc. This is what we want: 1. A city where we can actually walk, with restaurants, stores close. Kind of Manhattan, NY style. 2. Beach near...The fresh air is different when the ocean is near. Don't HAVE to be in the city.. but at least somewhere that we can take the car and drive near to the beach. 3. I came from South America, so FOR SURE i'm not used to the cold. A normal winter and normal summer i will love to have. 4. Parks around, mountains too.. We love to camping and mountains. The main request here is the weather, i hate cold the most of the time and live in a city, where i can walk to stores near to our apt.. The beach and the mountains could be near. We are paying $ 900/month for a 2 Bed Apt here in Tulsa... If we can find something around 1.000/month would be perfect. So, we are thinking and thinking where that could be. We think bout going to Seattle.. but I'm not sure about the weather? Or Miami? Well, we need more options!! Hope you guys can help us to suggest a city where to live. Thank you! more

Open Question: Road Trip To Florida?

Me and a few buds (3 of them) we are all 21 and will be driving from Toronto to Florida over the Spring Break. We'll be going to my house down in Naples, FL. The problem is, I'm afraid there won't be any action over in Naples. I haven't been down in Naples yet, but my parents go down sometimes so I don't know what's really down there. Do you think it will be a major buzz kill to be down there? Or should we pony up some extra cash to go to Miami? Or should I drive to Miami for a few days? I bet I can make it there in an hour and a half but I don't want to drive at night after partying, clubbing, etc. so I wanted to stay there a few nights. Do you think the rest of the trip (probably going to be down there for 10-14 days) is going to be really boring? I know Naples, FL has a beautiful beach but does it have clubs too that are bumping at night and in spring break? I guess I'll see for myself when I get down there, I'll probably drive down there - rest in Naples for a bit, head out to Miami for a few nights, drive back to Naples, rest and relax on the beach, and head up to Orlando to chill at some amusement parks with the buds lol. Dear all, I am planning a trip to Miami in April, with my BF and another couple. We are coming from Europe and we would like to do and see as much as possible, but at the same time spend a couple of days on the beach. I was thinking about renting a car so we could sleep 2 night in Miami, maybe move to Orlando for 2 days to see some parks and than back to Miami, but don't have the big picture yet. I am so confused because I am looking for a hotel on miami beach through priceline trying to do a bid on one, and I don't understand because I am looking for hotels on miami beach but alot of them say south beach lik, "miami beach-south beach", and when you bid for a hotel on priceline you can only choose the area and price of the hotel not the hotel itself, and I really don't want to be accidentally put in a hotel on south beach since we have to be less than an hour from miami int. airport. Audio Professionals, Please Help! I need guidance using Lavalier Microphones to capture sound outdoors. Hello! I have a question for all you audio professionals out there! I am a professional videographer who's wanting to step-up in the level of quality when shooting people's special events. Any videographer could tell you that the bread and butter of our business are Weddings. Lately I've been shooting for a lot of outdoor weddings, and most of those at the beach! Obviously this represents a bit of a challenge when it comes to capturing audio, especially if I'm moving around with my camera. My idea is to buy 2 Lavalier Microphones to put on the groom and bride. I'm positive this would solve my problem. Now I have NO IDEA about what to buy, how to set it up, and how will it get recorded. So here are my questions: 1-First of all, what should I buy (brand, type, model, etc.). I don't need "the best out there" but good enough to get comprehensive audio on an outdoor wedding. 2-How does it work? Does the sound get recorded into the camera directly? Or does it get recorded separately? And if it does get recorded separately, into what kind of media is it recorded on (Hard Drive, MiniDV Tape, etc.)? Please keep in mind that I will later have to import the audio (as an AIFF file) into an editing program (Final Cut Pro) in order to sync it with the video being edited. 3-How do I set it up? (What goes hooked to what?) Or (maybe) can I hook one up to ONE camera and the second one to the OTHER camera (I use 2 cameras at each wedding). to pay rent often? we aren't rich, most of us work two jobs to support our living, and we often times struggle to make ends meet due to rich people from other places buying all the land and thus driving rent sky-high. however, we're the happiest and least stressed state. is this because of our collectivist, communalist values that mark property as unimportant in life, and being rich as a pipe dream that is not worth pursuing? FYI: for those who think it's always sunny or nice, or that we spend all day at the beach go to Hilo, Kahului, or Nanakuli, and tell us if life is "perfect" here. (also, remember that Miami and LA have beaches too, and they still seem pretty stressed out)@gun control: most of the beaches are congested with tourists and homeless people from the mainland, lol so they aren't that great here either more

I am going to Miami with my girlfriend for the first time in a few days. I live in FL but have never gone there before, and neither has she. I know of the basics like south beach and other tourist spots, but I was looking for more none tourist spots. We are going down during the down season, so crowds will not be a big problem, but im looking for the fun stuff that wed sites tend to look over. Hello all, thank you for your time and responses. I was in Miami this past weekend (Im originally from there but I am in Tampa rite now for school), for my best friends bday party. We all got an apartment on South Beach. One of my friends invited this girl, a co worker of hers. We started talking, she was cute, and we ended up having sex. When she left, I got her number so I wouldn't come off as an asshole, and I figured "Hey,I guess I could keep in touch, no biggie" BUT, the girl that invited her, invited ger again to the beach with us the next morning. That was cool, we all hung out, again, no biggie. Now, Im back up at campus And get word that all my guy friends are sort of "blending her in" to our group that we always hang out. Now my intentions would be only for a one night thing. I didnt mind being friends with her at all, but now, is like there is a little bit of pressure for her to be around all of our frineds cuz now the boy/girl ratio is one to one. Resolved Question: Where should we go for Spring Break?

My step-sister and I have to choose a place to travel for Spring Break. The thing is, we have radically different personalities. She likes parties, fashion, clubbing, beaches, and shopping. I like museums, history, writing, photography, art, meeting new people, walking, stuff like that. We are both 18 and can drive, though I prefer solitude while she always wants company. Ideally I would accompany her to do what she wants while also having time to myself. We'd prefer a place where we speak the language. We both speak English and Spanish, but I prefer English, while she prefers Spanish. I also speak Italian. We would also prefer that the flight not be longer than 10 hours. I don't think she'd agree to England (and I went this past year anyway), and I didn't really like Paris (though I did enjoy smaller towns near the Pyrenees when I went to France). That said, staying in the US would be preferable, but not necessary. We've been to NYC twice this past year, so that's out. She suggested Los Angeles, but I can't think of anything I'd want to do there (but if you have suggestions, I'd be amenable to hearing them). I suggested Alaska, but she immediately declined. I have been to Spain (Madrid), but she hasn't, so right now, we're thinking Barcelona. But I think that's a bit far for her first time traveling out of the country. Another choice would be Amsterdam, but, again, we don't speak the language (though I'm sure enough people there speak English). I'd be open to hearing suggestions. Anything to do in Los Angeles? Canary Islands? Barcelona? ANY other place in the US would be great as well if there's enough for both of us to do. P.S. - We don't want any place that gets too swamped during Spring Break, like Mexico. We live in Miami, so we see plenty of that already. For this reason, beaches are also not necessary, though she would appreciate it.She doesn't like the cold at all, but I love it. Not big enough. Everyone figured that when Pat Riley couldn't come up with a game-changer of a deal for the stretch run this season that he was saving up all of his poker chips to get Dwyane Wade an A-list playmate as the grand plan in Miami. Think grander. Think bolder. That's what the Knicks and Heat are doing. Quite simply, it makes no sense to limit your vision or your reach, so the Heat and the Knicks won't. Think LeBron James, Wade and Chris Bosh all together on the same team. That's the play. The Three Musketeers. The Three Amigos. Three-mendous. Call them whatever you want, but there is every reason to believe that the Knicks and Heat will make the calls and make the tries to make that happen. Imagine the scenes when the clock strikes midnight on July 1 ... An executive Learjet, lifts off from a private airport in Westchester County (N.Y.), stuffed with Walsh, coach Mike D'Antoni and enough leftover Wall Street bonus cash to fill Lake Erie, and heads toward a late-night rendezvous in Akron, Ohio. About 1,100 miles away, a Cessna Citation X leaves the Opa-Locka (Fla.) Executive terminal with a Hall of Fame club president at the controls and a co-pilot wearing a long scarf, the goggles of a World War I flying ace and a No. 3 jersey, headed north. Talk about your amazing race. The Knicks and Heat shoot for the trifecta. Why couldn't it happen? Why shouldn't it happen? Some around the league already think it will. If the appeal is supposed to be getting a pair of individual superstars to come together and pool their talents on the same team, then the logical extension -- and the biggest splash -- is to make the same pitch to all three. In Miami and New York, the appeal would be for the threesome to remember the bonds they forged while playing for USA Basketball, where D'Antoni served as an assistant coach, and the dominance that went into winning the Olympic gold medal at Beijing in 2008. If that experience was fun, wouldn't grabbing the entire NBA by the throat for the foreseeable future be a giddy delight? Surely, they'd be able to do that even if every other player on the roster were a minimum salary player. And they would be. The impediment, of course, is the money. Each of them would have to leave something on the table. And, so far, no maximum level free agent in the NBA has ever done that. Still, even if the Knicks were encumbered by Eddy Curry's $11 million, they could squeeze all three in, assuming everybody made a bit of a sacrifice. For James, any location outside of Cleveland will cost him $30 million for the extra year he could get -- according to NBA rules -- from the Cavs. Then you tack on the incremental raises he'd be eligible for and that probably amounts to another $36 million. Hey, $66 million is nothing to sniff at, even if you're already wealthier than a few low level oil sheiks. Yet LeBron is much more of a wild card if you figure that whatever he gives up on the front end of his basketball salary will come back if he adds a few titles to his resume. And isn't it all about the rings more than the other things? And didn't Michael Jordan play for way under his market value, until those last two years in Chicago, in order to let the Bulls assemble the complementary parts around him? Would Wade, who already has one ring, give up part of his paycheck to get another one or five with LeBron and Bosh as the toasts of Broadway rather than risk becoming a wasted spot of spilled suntan oil around South Beach? Bosh has made a few noises, asking why he should be the one to move on from Toronto when he can stay put and be the highest-paid center of the Raptors' universe. Really? Would James and Wade in New York be enough to lure him? As much as there is the appeal for the Knicks to try the triple play, it could be easier to see it happening in Miami. For one, the Heat have to recruit only two outsiders, not three. Then there's the appeal of the South Beach lifestyle. And the Heat have an up-and-comer already on the roster in Michael Beasley. As an inducement, Riley might even offer that if LeBron, Wade and Bosh would join forces in Miami, he could guarantee the services of a Hall of Fame coach. Go to www.nba.com and look for article.
