Open Question: Question about sales jobs in America.?

As I searched in Craigslist in the Miami section for employment, I've noticed how many Sales jobs there were. Apparently for every other section of employment (Ex:Customer Service, Food/Hospitality) there is barely any recruitment there. The jobs I've been able to find are in Miami Beach for the most part. When I went to the Sales section however, I found a list of maybe 15. Of course, some of them were scams, but some weren't as well. I guess my question is basically, what's with the Sales jobs? Our country is based upon 70% consumerism, so maybe that has something to do with it? We sell, they buy, and that's it? Any ideas on this would be much appreciated, thanks! more

Open Question: Question about athletic/academic scholarships?

Well I transferred into another school (Miami Beach Senior High) to have a chance at playing baseball again. This school has a specific program (IB) that is very intriguing to colleges and Im in it. I have a 3.63 weighted/4.6 unweighted GPA and it is likely I'll get a scholarship when I do all my requirements for high school (community services, clubs, etc.). Im gonna play baseball for this school. They were a really bad baseball team last year (4 wins/ 14 losses) due to the fact that they are really young and all the seniors are out so the juniors will have to be the leaders and Im an incoming junior. I'm a really good baseball player, wanted by 6 out of the 18 schools I had in mind to transfer to but I chose Miami Beach because I wanted a chance to start immediately (since the other school had banned me from the team due to an argument b/w my dad and the coach) and shine into the baseball player everyone wants to see in me. Its been said by many people that Im already a varsity type player on freshman/sophomore years. I was wondering, this is hypothetically speaking here...If I were to do good in my junior and senior years playing here, would I be able to get a athletic scholarship even if the team is bad these next two years (b/c who knows if they have a turn around season these two up coming years)? I know that if I get the academic scholarship, I'll obviously make the right decision in picking that one but if I get both then I will choose both but I was just wondering can I get an athletic scholarship even if the team is bad? (btw this school is a school that has a history of top athletes getting athletic scholarships to top universities) more

Resolved Question: Is it normal for me to feel depressed after a vacation?

I haven't been on a vacation since 2006. Living in Miami, I decided to spend two days at the Florida Keys (about 125 miles south). The first day was getting used to the place we stayed (Marathon) at which I had mixed feelings... However, the night sky was just beyond words.... And the second day was just awesome because I actually visited Key West... The checkout day (this morning 8/17) is when I started feeling depressed. I guess I loved it even though I had mixed feelings about the place I stayed... Now back in Miami, I feel depressed especially looking at the night sky... I wish I would be able to walk on the beach again... Is depression after a trip normal? Any way(s) to get rid of it? more

For example, I live in New York City. It is warm - with summer like heat - for only four or five months. The rest of the year I can't really spend outside (swimming, tanning, at the beach). For the entire winter, and most of fall and spring, I do not spend time in the sun. I do not go to tanning beds. And I may have a brief ten day period in the sun while visiting my grandma in Florida, but nothing more than that. Will I age slower compared to someone who lives in a warm climate - such as Miami? My 16th Birthday is in a bit over 2 weeks, and i had a really awesome idea for a party! I already asked my mother if my party was expensive if it was a problem. She said it shouldn't be. I no longer live in Florida, (I live in the EU) but my mother said that i could fly with all of the friends i wanted to invite to florida for the party. I want to invite 6 of my very good friends from the EU, And 2 friends from the UK and 4 friends from New York and Chicago and probably 10 friends from Florida (I think that they all should get along well, since they all speak English fluently, along with German and French, which my friends from the US cannot understand). This is the full Plan: My 6 friends and I will fly from part of the EU ( I am not saying where) to the UK, to pick up my 2 friends from there, then the 9 of us will fly to New York, where my friend from Chicago will be at the Airport there in New York, where i will meet my 3 friends from New York, also. Then the 13 of us will fly to Miami, Florida, and there we will be met by a Limo, driving us directly to Universal Studios Orlando, where we will meet my Parents (relatives and Family Friends also), and We will all stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. My friends and I will be staying in the Graceland Suite, and my Parents and Relatives will stay in the King Suite, where there are 3 connection rooms. We will arrive around 6 PM, at the Hotel, Where we will get ready and go to a Birthday Dinner for me. The Next day we will go to The Universal Park. The Following day, We will go to the Islands of Adventure Park. Each day we will go to City Walk after the Park. The Following day we will go to Sea World, and Then the Next day Aquatica, (Aquatica is a sea world water park). (I don't know yet if we will do this or not but maybe. . . (the following)) We will the next ay go to Disney World, The day after Typhoon Lagoon, and the Last day Blizzard Beach. We will travel back to the EU the same way as we came accept for its backwards. Lol. So what do you think? Should i wait for Halloween Horror Nights, to go? Should i take anything out ad anything? Do you think that every one will like it? Do you think that it will be WAY to expensive? ( i discussed this all partially with my mother, but just the flying and the hotel, with the universal and seaward parks, not the disney.) Hello guys i' thinking about moving to florida and i really want to purchase a boat after spending a weekend in my uncles i can only dream of doing it again! i want it for going to the little islands around Miami Sundays and just chill and enjoy the beach and people that i know are great!!! and maybe going to Bimini islands or Bahamas once or twice a year when the weather is optimal like sailors dream weather! lol but i will use it in the summers mostly what would be cheaper or more practical? buying a 24 to 26 trail-able sea ray cuddie oh yeah i want it to have a bed and bathroom dont care for a kitchen! and keep it at home when i'm not using it! or buying a 33 to 36 foot one like the silverton 33 sport coupe i feel in love with it and keep it in a dry marina! i guess my question is will their be a big difference in price versus convenience?? i'm sure the smaller boat is cheaper but i hear trailing does 24 to 26 footers sometimes is a pain! more

Voting Question: Being declined Apartment/Condo Association?

Ok where to start. Little background info, I'm 21, currently a student at UM and I'm moving to Miami this month. When I was 16 I got a Reckless Driving ticket (which was supposedly dropped down to a lesser charge. I did not go to Jail, I just paid a bunch of court/state fees if I remember correctly). It does NOT show up on my Insurance (I.E. my insurance is not skyrocket high), and I drive a very expensive sports car. In June I went and looked at Apartments with my parents, we found a nice place in South Beach so we decided to go for it and rent this apartment. So the same day we checked it out, we filled out an Application for their association (Me AND my father both filled out an application because the lease is going to be in his name, and I'm just another person staying in the apartment [even though I'll be the sole person staying in it] because I'm over 18). Come to find out the next day that I was declined, supposedly because the Reckless Driving ticket is a court appearance required ticket, and it came back that I HAVE been to court, therefore I guess grounds to decline me. I honestly think it's because I'm a 21 year old, living alone in an apartment on south beach. Whatever the reason be, I found a nice place. Fast forward to this month. Instead of going through an apartment association, me and my parents decided it was in our best interest (because of my decline) to rent from a condo owner. Blah blah, I checked out various condos with my realtor and I finally found one I liked A LOT. So we put in a bid for the lease and ended up winning. We get the lease, my father and I are both on it. We also get an application for the association (pretty much the same thing I got before). Now this application states that it's mandatory for anyone 18+ to undergo a background check. My father is the only one filling out an application, and listing me as another resident of the apartment but it also states they need my age and a copy of my drivers license. We plan on bringing the application down sometime this week once we receive the signed lease from the owner (which is required to turn in application to the association). I'm hoping they take his application and don't even ask me for my SSN (which is not asked on the application under the list of other residents) Long story short here are my questions now that you have my background information. 1) Is it legal for them to decline me because I went to court for reckless driving? It's a misdemeanor. 2) Should I lie and give them my incorrect SSN and tell them I just wrote it down wrong? 3) Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to possibly get around the background search, or any recommendations in general? 4) What should I do? lol.
