Open Question: Non custodial Parent Rights?
I need help… My husband has three children from a previous marriage. They are 17, 11, and 4 years of age. He is and has always been a very big part of their lives. She has custody of them – not sure if it is sole or joint – he is very unclear of this. We all live in the same county of Hernando here in Florida. She is now looking to move to Palm Beach with her boyfriend (who she does not live with currently) which will be 4 hours away. He normally sees his children twice during the week and has them every other weekend. He has also been taking them every other holiday and keeping them an extra day or two when she visits her boyfriend in Palm Beach. He also pays child support through Florida Court. He would need to drive four hours to go get them and then four hours to bring them back to our home and of course the same thing going back. Even if she agreed to do half the trip – he feels later at some point she will stop because of how financially it will take a toll on her. Her moving all the way to Palm Beach would be a hardship for him and it will also not allow him to see his children as much as he sees them now. Can he stop her from moving all the way out there? This situation is really hurting him badly because his children are his world and the thought of losing them somewhat kills him. What can he do on his part or what can be done? What are his rights? If anyone can help me with this or knows anything of this please contact me. Thanks. moreVoting Question: How would I legally sell a cemetary plot? (South Florida)?

Now, after over a month of being fired I still haven’t got two checks worth about $900 & $120 on fees from a bounced check (I have proved of my hours). He’s told me that I will not see the checks until I pay those tickets he lost and even threaten me trying to humiliate me. I’d spoken to the owner of the restaurant on a very professional way, but he’s let all this go through my ex boss and claimed to be the owner but not really involve in the restaurant. What should I do? moreResolved Question: Interested in the Entertainment/Music Bussiness - best FL colleges for media? (Full Sail University?)?
I am going to be a junior in high school this year, and I am continuing my search for the college that best suits me. I am very interested in the entertainment industry (mainly the music industry, but any media really. Maybe even music production). I have been trying to find colleges in Florida (where I live), and I haven't been able to find many schools that focus on my interests. My family really wants me to go to UF, because almost all of them went there. But I would rather go to a school that is focused around what I want to do with my life, not just go because of its popularity. I have recently discovered Full Sail University. From what I have read on their website, it sounds like it would be a great experience. The programs they offer seem very beneficial for what I am interested in. And it is located in Orlando, which is about 2 hours away from where I live now (Palm Beach County). I know my grades and prerequisites are a MAJOR part of this process. For my freshman and sophomore years, I have averaged straight A's in most Honors classes. I currently have a 4.2 HPA and a 3.9 cumulative GPA. I have many, many hours of community service and I am in many clubs. Where can I find a list of colleges that focus on the entertainment or music industry (or anything related, located in FL)? Does the entertainment industry make good money? What I dream to do is to open a company of my own, maybe even a record label, that manages artists, or even branch out into other media outlets. I know that is dreaming big, but it's good to set goals. Is Full Sail University a beneficial college? Highly recommended? *Preferably a public college* moreResolved Question: Will more rich people avoid moving to high taxes states like NY and CA?
By choosing Miami Heat, LeBron James saves millions in state income taxes When he announced his intent to sign a contract with the Miami Heat, LeBron James stressed winning championships, not cutting his taxes. Even so, Florida economic boosters pounced on James' decision as an opportunity to tout the state's lack of an income tax. "Make no mistake, LeBron James is as large as any corporation moving to our area," said Kelly Smallridge, president of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County. Smallridge noted that James will save millions over the life of the five-year contract he's expected to sign. James entertained pitches from teams in six states. Five of those states - Illinois, Ohio, New York, New Jersey and California - impose income taxes. The highest rates on individuals in 2010 range from 3 percent in Illinois to 10.55 percent in California, according to the Tax Foundation. If James signs a deal totaling $96 million over five years, his state income taxes would range from nothing with the Heat to nearly $2.9 million with the Chicago Bulls, roughly $8.6 million with the New York Knicks or New Jersey Nets and $10 million with the Los Angeles Clippers. And those bills could increase if tax-strapped states raise their income tax rates. But an income tax in Florida is a near impossibility in the next five years. Don't forget city income taxes. Cleveland has a 2 percent income tax on top of Ohio's income tax, while New York City's income tax tops out at 3.65 percent. "We think that's why so many millionaires move to Florida," said Edie Ousley, spokeswoman for the Florida Chamber of Commerce. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/money/by-choosing-miami-heat-lebron-james-saves-millions-794079.htmlGod bless Florida!D.R., East-Coast Elite - I'm here in Miami, Fl my thermosat for my air condtioning says 68 deg. With these licenses they can board planes, get welfare, food stamps, medicaid why do actvists supports the illegals and not the laws ?On Thursday, Texas Department of Public Safety employee, Gracie Gutierrez, 27, was arrested for taking bribes in exchange for issuing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. She was caught in an undercover sting. Gutierrez is alleged to have issued the licenses without ever even administering the required DPS tests. Gutierrez, who lives in Houston, was charged with bribery and is being held in the Harris County Jail on $50,000 bond. A co-worker, Saul Ramirez, 20, was also nabbed in the bribery investigation. He is being held on $35,000 bond. In December 2009, seven employees at the Florida state license bureau in Delray Beach were arrested in a similar bribery investigation. The scam allegedly put drivers licenses in the hands more than 1,500 illegal aliens. Police in Palm Beach arrested Willy Adam, 52, and charged him with five counts of unlawful compensation to reward official behavior, and two counts of conspiracy, both felonies. At his arraignment, Palm Beach County Assistant State Attorney Alan Johnson, told Judge Ted S. Booras that Adam is not a U.S. citizen and presents a flight risk. He is currently in the West Palm Beach county Jail on $145,000 bail. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Adam in September, along with six others accused of facilitating the scam by issuing bribes, making phony immigration documents, and escorting the illegal aliens to the DMV employees in question. According to police, the license bureau examiners in question issued licenses to the illegal aliens without administering either a driving or written test. The DMV employees allegedly received between $1,200 to $2,500 per license, while prosecutors believe that those involved made several millions of dollars in the illegal operation. http://www.examiner.com/x-35821-Immigration-Reform-Examiner~y2010m7d2-More-DMV-employees-charged-with-taking-bribes-giving-licenses-to-illegal-aliens How do illegals come up with this $1,200 to $2,500 per license ? moreResolved Question: Can you name all division 2 colleges in Palm Beach,Broward,Dade county Florida ?

I'm in Palm Beach County, Florida. So, only answer this if you're from Palm Beach County, Florida. I got A's for both terms. Let me reiterate: I got an A in the 3rd term, and I got an A in the 4th term. Each term grade is worth 40% of the final grade, and the final exam is worth 20%. What do I need on my final to keep my overall A in the class? If I got a C on the final, would that drop me down to a B, or would I still have my A? I'm just worried about Algebra 2. I forgot EVERYTHING about math, and I think I might get a C.At my school, we just do letter grades. The percentages don't matter. Anyway, this is for my math class. I got a 96.8% in the 4th term. In the 3rd term, I got 89.7%I got an A on my Algebra 2 final. Sometimes, I just worry unnecessarily about my grades. I got A's on the rest of my finals too (I don't know about English 1, yet, B/C I don't take it until 6/3)Also, I was mistaken about my 3rd term grade. Why are Activists are complaining that the police should not be allowed to run a background check on illegals who have been arrested ? Four Central Florida counties are joining a growing list of law enforcement jails on a federal push to identify and deport illegal immigrants already behind bars, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency announced Monday. Orange, Osceola, Polk and Volusia counties will join Lake in the "Secure Communities Initiative," which gives jails access to combined FBI and Homeland Security databases of criminal and immigration violations. The arrangement comes through an agreement between ICE and the state and allows jails to submit fingerprint data for their inmates to be checked against federal records. Activists are complaining about the partnerships, saying they don't want Florida to enforce immigration offenses like Arizona, where a controversial new law making illegal immigration a state crime has stirred fears of racial profiling and civil-rights violations. However, ICE officials said the program is a public-safety initiative and not just a dragnet. "All of these individuals had to have been arrested for a criminal charge and have to be in jail," said David Bradley, deputy director for ICE's Office of Detention and Removal in Miami, which oversees enforcement throughout Florida. "It allows us to stop recidivist offenders" from being released. ICE said 24 Florida counties, including Escambia, Leon, Palm Beach and Sarasota, and 20 states are participating. But immigrant activists are wary of any local effort to enforce federal immigration law and continue to call for national immigration reform that would balance enforcement with legalization. The Florida Immigrant Coalition, a Miami organization that unites dozens of immigrant advocacy groups, hopes that Florida doesn't follow Arizona's path. "The whole fiasco in Arizona started with one local county thinking it was OK to develop this unholy alliance with ICE and criminalizing its own people," said Subhash Kateel, a community organizer. "The biggest problem is people are flagged for deportation at the point of arrest and not of conviction, and so they never get the benefit of being presumed innocent." ICE spokeswoman Nicole Navas said the county jails have found repeat offenders, including murderers and rapists, and have not targeted anyone not already slated for deportation. "These are fingerprinting databases," she said, "and it's a colorblind system." http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/osceola/os-county-jails-illegal-immigration-20100426,0,5913185.story My question is activists would rather see repeat offenders, including murderers and rapists set free and police must not check their finger prints as it would mean the police are trying to enforce federal immigration laws and the police are not properly trained on how to arrest somebody from Mexico. moreVoting Question: Legal advice on potential abandonment of a minor?
My friend is fifteen years old, and she's gay. Last August, she came out to her parents, who are hardcore Christian pastors, and they've had some huge problems with it. They've been fighting and she's been very unhappy in her home, to the point where it's just ruining her whole life. Last night, I guess another fight broke out, and her mother demanded her to pack her things and get out, because she wasn't allowed to be gay, devil devil devil, whatever, etc. So she did, and she went to school today after staying with a friend of hers, and now she is at my house. She has nowhere else to go, no relatives, and my mom is welcoming her but isn't sure what to do. I kind of am wondering if there's a legal case in this somewhere--they ordered her to leave, and when she came back home when they were gone to get clothes, they'd packed up all of her things. She has a stepbrother, actually, who may act as an advocate for her, but so far he hasn't called us back yet. Does anyone have any advice, other than to just blatantly call the police or tell her to go home? It's a messy situation, so we want to take the right legal action so that no one is unjustly involved in a negative way. We live in Florida, in Palm Beach County, so I don't know if there's anything specific about this for our area. I've been told it can be considered abandonment, but that's all I know. moreVoting Question: My parents are looking to move to South Florida...Looking for spanish speaking communities in South Florida?

Democrat front-runner wins Fla. US House race By BRIAN SKOLOFF (AP) – 41 minutes ago BOCA RATON, Fla. — A Democratic state senator on Tuesday handily won the first U.S. House race since Congress passed a massive health care overhaul, beating a decided underdog Republican who tried to use the backlash against the measure to pull the upset. With 59 percent of precincts reporting, Florida state Sen. Ted Deutch had 62 percent of the vote compared to 36 percent for Republican Ed Lynch. No-party candidate Jim McCormick trailed far behind with just 3 percent. The Associated Press called the race just about two hours after the polls closed. Deutch, an attorney, and Lynch, a contractor, both 44, were vying to replace retiring Democratic U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler. "I have never before felt the way that I feel at this moment," Deutch said to cheering supporters. "We've heard for months that tonight ... is a referendum on health care, it's a referendum on the (President Barack Obama) administration, it's a referendum on what direction this country is going," Deutch added. "Let me tell you something, what we learned today is that in Broward County and Palm Beach County, Florida, the Democratic Party is alive and well." Lynch of West Palm Beach sought to make the race a statement on the health care bill in District 19, which includes parts of both counties. About 40 percent of voters are senior citizens. But he had a tough task. Democrats outnumber Republicans by more than 2-to-1 — 234,000 to about 111,000. "Obviously, it's not the results that we wanted," Lynch said. "But it proved that people are willing to get out there and take our country back," he said of his supporters. Wexler, a self-proclaimed "fire-breathing liberal," left office in January during his seventh congressional term to head a Middle East think tank. He was hugely popular in the district, which voted about 65 percent for Obama in 2008. Wexler, of Boca Raton, had endorsed Deutch. He will now serve the remaining eight months of Wexler's term, then will have to run in November for his own full term. Lynch had hoped public disdain for the health care bill and low congressional approval ratings would help him upset Deutch, widely seen as the front-runner. He sought to do what Republican Scott Brown did in Massachusetts when he won the Senate seat held for nearly a half-century by Democrat Edward M. Kennedy. Lynch lambasted the health care overhaul as a government takeover and the gutting of Medicare, while Deutch told voters it would provide immediate relief. Lynch had also slammed Obama's stimulus bill as doing little to help the economy and called the president's timetable to withdraw troops from Iraq "moronic." Deutch said he would have voted for the health care overhaul and the stimulus bill and supports Obama's Iraq strategy.http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gpk2uJfXmb7eplGSpGYsUuT6KqXgD9F2IDOG0 moreResolved Question: How do I find out what building code was used on a house built in 1995 in Palm Beach County Florida?

When was the right time to get tough and institute regulations? Right when the crash was beginning? Now? Later? I ask this because certain firms on Wall Street had absolutely great financial years last year. They reaped record profits and doled out billions in bonuses because they were given a no strings attached loan from government the year before. And the money didn't trickle down. Firms absolutely did not give badly needed loans for small business. They took the money and ran. I would imagine a few CEO's here in Florida got a few more homes and yachts this year. I can just look out my car window and see the extreme wealth here in Palm Beach. These executives are not hurting even as the unemployment in this particular county is around 15%. So when was the right time to get tough on Wall Street?Good answer, Sir Studley. moreTop Palm Beach County Florida Links
