I like the idea of going to South Carolina with my mom. I will be 13 and she will be in her mid-40's she however, wants to take a quiet trip down by the shore for the day, while my brother and Dad will be spending 2 weeks backpacking across New Mexico! Resolved Question: Is it still a big deal to live in anywhere in Greenwich, CT, even if it isnt in the bratty rich area?

I live in Old Greenwich CT which is the part of greenwich by the beach. Per sq ft of land, old greenwich is the most expensive out of all of greenwich and the houses are generally smaller and more expensive bc its so jammed. In backcountry ( where the 10, 000 sq foot 40 mil houses are ) is where most people think of greenwich, but i live on a very nice street in old greenwich in a nize sized house ( 3200 sq ft included a 1300 sq ft finished basement ) on 1/8 of an acre, upper-middle class. so my question is is it not a big deal for me to live in greenwich bc i dont live in backcountry? thnnxxcos cob IS in greenwich. just a poorer part of greenwichnad id rather stay a nice class new englander :) thanks more

Resolved Question: 14th B-day, party game ideas... anyone? Please?

So my 14th birthday is around the corner and I have very little idea what I’m going to do, no games come to mind! I desperately need games!! My house is small, but the downstairs is fairly open. We’re not allowed upstairs during parties because it’s small and my brothers’ rooms are too close to my own for courtesy. The only other circumstance is to try to avoid my grump-munster bros (and my dad -but the whole time he‘ll probably be building something or sleeping for his work (nightshift, luckily). (around five to seven 13/14 year old girls running around, maybe my friend Matt, (but Matt’s gay [literally, not jerkish insult] so it’s not going to waver anything, he’ll be going home before the sleepover itself, assuming he attends) So far, I know this will be going on: 1. ---It’s a slumber party, we’ll crash all over the T.V/living room. 2. ------During the day we’ll have the first two Twilight Saga films playing for a few hours, but afterwards we’re going to have a continuous marathon of lame horror vampire movies. (captions, no sound, it’s mostly for people not enjoying the particular game) 3.-----We’re probably going to do makeovers. 4.--- Only healthy snacks, and that’s already planned as far as my mom says. No candy (I’m getting braces in march). No cake, but awesome decorated cupcakes (in case that sparks inspiration) 5----I know I’ll have a ton of music, letting the guests send me individual playlists so everyone gets what they like. 6---- I’m a June baby, so we might be going outside, but it’s not likely because it’s usually buggy and hot. No pool, no trampoline, only a small wooden play-gym and open space for about 12 feet by 10 feet. No pool party, and no lual because my mom doesn’t want to spend too much money. 7---- I live in inland CT, so a three hour drive to the beach is out of the question :’( But other than those ideas, I have to find a way to fill 48 hours with very entertaining activities that girls (and a feminine guy for about a quarter of that time) can play and be entertained by. more

Resolved Question: I want to travel, But im scared...Please tell me, what can I do?

So im thinking of going to miami for a week in March. Im from Ct, which would be a 3 hour flight. Last time I was in a airplane, I was about 7 years old. Im now 21. For the past 5 years or so I have been having problems with my stomach. I cant take trips, If I know they are going to last more than 1/2 hour or so and I have to drive because if someone else does, my stomach will start hurting me a lot. I would love to go to NYC which would be a 2 hour drive but I never go do because of my condition. Im a 21 year old female and never really traveled out of state or to beaches at least because Im always scared of my stomach hurting. Right now Im 3 months pregnant and want to go to Florida in March when I will be about 5 months. I want to go before I give birth because I know it will be hard to travel with a baby. Im not going to Miami to party or drink, So please dont tell me it's too late for that. My question is what can I do in a airplane to stop these pain in my stomach? Just by looking at them make me go crazy. I work at the airport and I see airplanes everyday all day right outside my office and they do make me sick. I also know that usually they want the passengers in the airplane 30 minutes before they take off. Those 30 minutes are just too much for me to sit and relax and just wait for the takeoff....Please helpppp more

Resolved Question: Unsolved Right Stomach Pain. Its back, and I need to know what to do this time! 16 y.o. NEEDS HELP!?

Okay. This is going to be long. This all started in June of 2009. I am 16. I get sick a LOT, and its always a horrible fever, or something bad. Ive never have any infections or anything that needed surgery. But in June, I got a horrid pain in my right side. No fever. I couldn't keep anything down, Id just throw it up Diarrhea which leaded to Constipation. Mainly the horrible pain in my right lower side. And when I say horrible, I mean to the point where I cant bare it anymore (9-10/10). My mom asked me if I wanted to go to the Hospital, but I kept putting it off more and more because I don't like going to the doctors. Finally one night at about 10PM I wake up in the worst pain Ive ever felt, and my mom rushed me to the Hospital. I didn't have to wait at all in the Emergency room, they let me skip everyone else. I got it, and they gave me to Tylenol. The Tylenol didn't do anything seeing I couldn't hold it down, so they put me on saline and morphine. That helped a little but my pain was still about an 8. They made me drink contrast with the help of some meds that stopped me from throwing up so much, which took a LONG time because I had to do it slow. They gave me a CT scan, thinking I had appendicitis. The doctor came in and said that they would have to look at it some more, and that they were going to Admit me to the pediatrics. The next morning the doctor comes in and tells me that my Lymph Nodes in my intestines are swollen (Mesenteric Adenitis ). They keep me there, on Fluids. I slowly start to get better, and slowly start to come off the pain meds and eat solids. And on the 7th day I'm allowed to go home just taking some vicodin. Two months goes by, and nothing happens..... And then my family Rents a Beach house in August. I'm fine for the first few days, but start to get a fever and don't want to do anything, so my mom takes me home. I sat at home by myself for a day, and then my mom came back from the beach house so she could take care of me. And then that night, my right lower side starts to hurt again. I couldn't eat or drink much because I would just vomit it up. It finally got horrible again 12 hours later, and my mom and her boyfriend drove me to the Hospital. I sit in the emergency room for about 3 hours, and deal with the horrible pain. They call me back and take my temp, and its only about 100. I sit in the little ER room, a nurse comes in, gives me an IV and starts me on some fluids and pain meds. They try to get me to drink, but I just throw it all back up. So they put some meds in my IV to stop me from throwing up. I get another CT scan and a few X-Rays. And then they send me home on Vicodin. The Vicodin didn't do much for me at all, so I set up an Appointment with my doctor. I go in and tell him how I'm feeling, and he could see that I was in pure misery. He called up the hospital and gets me a room. They put me in for Pain Management and so they can do tests. I got an X-Ray and it showed me being extremely constipated, so they thought that was my problem. So they gave me an Enema, and let me do my thing. Soon enough there's nothing left.... BUT THE PAINS STILL THERE. They finally decide to do some GI test. They made me go into a room with this big bed/board thing that I had to stand against. They made me drink a full cup of Barium, and take a few X-rays. Then they had me drink some Barium as they took the shots. About 20 X-Rays later, they make me lay down on the table while they go and look at the pictures. The nurse came back and told me they wanted to take some more. So I drank more of the Barium, and threw a little up (which in result made me have to drink more). Then they took more shots, about 40 more. During these shots they used this little paddle and pushed on parts of my intestines, and there was a TV where you could see everything that was happening like a live TV show. Needless to say, they found nothing. Then I stayed there for a few more days. They took an X-Ray here and there. And just waited for the Barium to pass. Then on the 6th day, they gave me some Laxative and some Vicodin and let me go. I had to get out of the Hospital, because I had surgery the next day to get a plate removed from my arm from when I broke it a year before. A day or two after my Arm Surgery, I was back to being my self, and went and had fun, because it was summer, and I'd missed enough already. Things went normal for about a month and then it came back (now September)... It wasn't that bad this time. Maybe a 7 or 8 on the pain scale. I went to my doctor, he gave me some pain meds, and everything went away about a week later. Then in October I moved to New York City. I hoped to GOD it wouldn't come back, because I didn't want to deal with their Hospitals. Everything went okay, until two days before Thanksgiving. I got a little feverish. I was throwing up a bit, and had a bit of blood in my stool ( there was blood in my stool the other times too, I just forgot to put it). I dealt wi more

Hey. Im nineteen, almost twenty, going to college right now and i live in ct. Ive been to the outerbanks in northcarolina several times. I absolutly love north carolina and within the next year want to move to an apt and go to school. But i dont know where in north carolina is good to move to. I dont want a huge city but at the same time i dont want a tiny no people town. Kinda in between. I'm 21 years old and I've discovered recently that I love to travel. I want to travel the country (USA) I've lived in the same state most of my life & went to college 2 hours from home in Pennsylvania for 2 years. I've always since I was 9 wanted to live in the South. I'm not sure why but it's been what I've always wanted to do. I'm getting the opportunity to do this now I'm living in South Carolina & finishing up college here. Here's the issue - I'm in Myrtle Beach there are VERY few southerners at the university I'm attending everyone is from NY, NJ, CT, PA. It's crazy I've seen more NJ license plates then I've seen SC. This is not my idea of a "southern experience" at all....I was hoping to meet people with thick southern accents, who have morals, who are friendly, and "country like" if I wanted to meet northerners I'd have stayed in NJ not traveled 14hrs from home!! I'm a bit discouraged I'm thinking of picking up and going to Tennessee or somewhere else "south" like Georgia....is this a bad idea with 3 semesters left of college?? I really have had this "idea/goal" to live down south for years now. more

Resolved Question: What town in Rhode Island would suit what I'm looking for?

I currently live in Upstate NY (in a very suburban area) and I plan on moving about April 2010. I have family that still lives in NY, and I know that RI isn't THAT far away. I'd like to live within 5 hours from them, but I want to live near (no more than 30 minutes away from) a beach. I have a 16 year old daughter and she's very artsy, so I'd like to live in an area where she could utilize that. I have another child on the way, so I'll need a good school for the both of them, as well as a safe neighborhood. I'm a nurse, so I'll need to live in an area with a major hospital. My parents will move with us, and I'll need a duplex or a house with an in-law apartment for them. My dad enjoys golfing (perhaps he could join a country club?) and my mom would need to live within 10 minutes of retail stores (as well as a mall). Animals are extremely important to me; I rescue them and I have a lot of my own. I'll definitely need a good veterinary hospital (I currently live near one of the best that NY has) and a very animal-friendly community. I'd like to spend no more than $270,000 on a house, but I'm not sure what I could get for that. I'm not aware if these things are unrealistic, but I would appreciate some advice! Also, I've been looking at houses in the Westerly, RI/Pawcatuck, CT region, as well as some houses in Warwick, RI and Jamestown, RI, but all of these areas seem so industrial to me. I'm trying to find a town close to a beach, but still somewhat suburban and secluded. Any suggestions? more

I'm contemplating buying a run-down beach house in Fairfield, CT that hasn't been lived in for at least 10 years. In budgeting, I need to factor in an electrical upgrade. The house has a kitchen (which we'll accommodate with a new fridge and stove/oven, but once held a washer/dryer as well), 2 bedrooms, living room, bathroom, 2 small sun porches, and a half-insulated attic. The outlets are all most likely 2-pronged, and we would like the voltage to be able to handle Wi-Fi, several small appliances and lighting throughout the house. What price range should we expect? more

OK, now i recently went to the beach with some family to enjoy some ocean fun, we went to dauphin island in south Alabama off the coast of Alabama, now this island isnt very big, it is in fact very tiny, copy/paste this adress into your browser white rectangle thingy, without the periods........http://maps.google.com/maps?q=dauphin+island&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&split=0&gl=us&ei=f9yJSq-YCIi7lAeLuKDmCw&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1.... that is dolphin island in google maps, well anyway, i kept seeing these jellyfish, everywhere i looked, i saw one, they were white, with orange stripes running from the center if is top, to about 3 inches from the edge of its top, the tentacles were about three feet long, one was floating on the surface of the water while i was standing near it and the water was about up to my waist, and the tentacles were long enough to graise the sand at the bottom.and there was fluffy lookin stuff hanging down in the middle of all the tentacles. can anyone identify this jellyfish? more

Resolved Question: My son who was injured at the beach several years ago.?

Was rolled by a wave and hurt his lower neck/muscle. Now his arm is going numb and he is in severe pain with headaches. We have been to Chiropractors, Family Physicians, Message Therapists, Orthopedics. They all saw they don't know what is wrong and nothing is showing up on x-ray and ct scans. He now has an ulcer from taking to much Advil so I'm having a hard time managing his pain. What could this be? I have run out of options. Please give me some suggestions. more

MAIN PLOT A troubled teenager who has been kicked out of his parents house is now relying on his one hope, his 92 Honda Civic Hatchback. A story about a teen that has been attached to street racing, he has to deal with his peers, peer pressure, staying out of trouble, cops & drugs. He has been taken in by the Malone family and now has to transform from living in the Chicago ghetto neighbourhood to the Beautiful San Diego streets. SEASON 1 EPISODE 1: PILOT In the pilot CT gets kicked out of his home(THEME SONG THROUGH HERE) and moves in with Johnny & his parents. Johnny then introduces CT to his friends, Ben, Theresa & Kandy, CT finds out that Johnny, Theresa & Kandy all go to school. He is then asked by Johnny’s parents if he could register but he refuses to do so. The gang then shows CT around town. Back at Johnny’s house his parents Bailey & Carol question CT’s future. Meanwhile the gang stops by some trouble at a coffee shop named Twiggs. CT finds out that Ben & Johnny have some unresolved business with a guy named Karol Camden. Ben owes Karol some money for accidently scratching his car. Ben refuses to do so as he claims it wasn’t him that did it. Karol finds another way and that is to have a race the following night at Little Italy, however Ben has to go visit his Uncle’s house down on the other side of San Diego. CT then moves in and asks Ben & Karol if he can race him. Karol accepts however Ben is having second thoughts about it. CT says to not worry. Back in Johnny’s house his parents decide to keep CT around and see how things go, if things go well, they are considering being his legal guardians. Later that night it’s race time. Karol & CT both have to race down the street and around the town. Loser pays the winner 500 dollars. Which if CT looses, Ben has to pay Karol. After the race the result is that CT came out on top as Karol got a flat tire half way through. CT then gives Ben a call to tell him the news & CT, Johnny, Theresa & Kandy go out to Twiggs to celebrate, then Johnny and CT come home and Johnny’s parents tell CT the news. CT takes it rather well and then they have dinner. END OF EPISODE 1 SEASON 1 EPISODE 2: THE DECISIONS The episode starts off with CT waking up as he sleeps on a sleeping bag in Johnny’s room, he wakes up and he enters the kitchen and Johnny’s mom greets him breakfast. She tells him to check the view out if he wants to. CT then goes up stairs and opens the balcony door and sees San Diego. (THEME SONG THROUGH HERE) CT calls Ben as he realizes that Johnny, Theresa & Kandy are at school. CT meets up at Ben’s apartment and CT asks him more about racing. Ben tells him all the information about street racing. Ben then goes to work and tells CT to meet up at his friend’s place for a race if he wants to. Back at school Theresa has been talking about CT all day & asks Johnny more about him. Johnny, Theresa & Kandy then get approached by a guy named Lance. Lance is also a street racer and he asks Johnny about CT as the rumour has spread that he’s living with Johnny now & apparently Lance saw him racing Karol last night. Lance said that Karol wants a rematch with CT. Meanwhile, CT has all the information that Ben gave to him and drives down by the beach where he meets Ben’s “friend”, Manny. Manny then gives CT a list of races that are going down this week. CT then gets a call from Carol (Johnny’s mom) & Carol tells him that she & Bailey (Johnny’s dad) want to have dinner with him to get to know him better. CT also has been told by Manny that a 4 car race is happening tonight and the winner gets 750 dollars in cash. Later that night the race is about 2 hours away and CT & Johnny are talking outside of his apartment. Johnny says to go to dinner, but CT says he needs the money. After thinking, CT chooses to go to the race. CT looses the race, and when he goes home, he finds an upset Malone family. Carol & Bailey then have second thoughts about CT staying with them. END OF EPISODE 2 SEASON 1 EPISODE 3: THE PARENTS, THE CARS, & THE GIRLS CT is apologizing to Johnny’s parents and tells them he would love to have dinner with them the following night. Johnny’s parents decide to give him one more chance. (THEME SONG THROUGH HERE) Johnny tells CT that he better make dinner because his parents won’t give you another chance. Then, Theresa comes out and Johnny goes inside and CT & Theresa talk about things. Meanwhile Johnny goes over to Ben’s house and after talking Johnny decides to race him on a friendly race. Johnny also tells him that Karol wants to race CT again. Meanwhile back at the apartment Theresa asks CT to hang out the following night. CT however has to reject because of his dinner with Carol & Bailey. Theresa gets sad about it but CT knows he can’t miss dinner. Any locals have any beaches that are decent and are very close-by, or at least easily accessible from I-84 ONLY in between these 2 cities?
