Open Question: I need a good character names for a girl & guy in my novel! Help!! (Set in present day)?
****Need a name for both the main/secondary characters. The girl, seventeen, and the guy, almost eighteen.**** She has brown, wavy, beach hair - lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Her parents are divorced and she goes to stay with her Father in Colonial Beach, Virginia. She ends up staying for the entire summer and does not want to leave. She falls in love while she is there, and the ending is sad. They are torn apart and never speak to each other again. She has brilliantly, bright, blue eyes and is seventeen. He, (name for the guy she falls in love with as well as herself), has light brown hair that falls into his eyes a lot. His eyes are bright green and shimmer in the sunlight. He has two younger sisters and (the main character (the girl)) admires him for that. They both felt the spark between them but did not talk after meeting for three weeks. They talk for the first time on the ocean, after her father and her have a fight - she gets into trouble with the cops while she is there. A guy from her church, (that her father makes her attend, she doesnt want to go (makes her go after she gets into trouble)), likes her a lot. And she starts to like him but then she's swept off of her feet by the other guy. :) Sorry for any confusion!! So, to sum it up, I need names for these characters: Girl - Age: 17 - Blue eyes - Brown Hair (Wavy) Boy - Age: Almost 18 (Turns 18 at the end of novel) - Light Brown Hair (Gets into his eys) Boy - Age: 17 and a half - Brown hair (usually slicked back (very preppy-like)) Thanks!! :)THANK YOU!! I GOT MY NAMES!! :) Taylor - Brown wavy hair, bright blue eyes, main character, 17 Josh - Light brown hair gets into his eyes, bright green eyes, main character, almost 18 Jace - Guy from the church, preppy, 17 moreVoting Question: What does dressy casual look like?
I want to go a nice, local and moderatly expensive restaurant for my 3rd year anniversary and the attire is "Dressy Casual". A lot of people have their idea of what it is. I know not to wear jeans, t-shirts, and flip flops but would something like a strapless (not smoked or beach style) dress be appropriate or would it need to be something with sleeves? I know flip flops aren't right, but what about a sandal? This is going to be in April in Georgia and it's very hot because we will most likely be sitting outside. Does anyone have any pictures of what dressy casual looks like? For both women and men? moreVoting Question: Is there a beach in savanna Georgia?

I have been discussing the following story with my Mum and sisters this evening and we all came up with different ideas. What do you think? I really value others opinions. Donna On 31st January 2009 a group of year 11 students left with their teachers for a trip to Barbados to attend the World Youth Forum. The met at Tullamarine( Melbourne Australia) airport for the flight, and despite warnings of rough flying conditions, left on schedule. Eight hours from Melbourne, the plane was hit by freak conditions that destroyed its electrical system. All communication was lost, and with the tail fin torn from the chassis, they were flying off course. The pilot eventually ditched into the ocean. An inflatable life raft was activated, and the pilot, students, two teachers and a tour guide (Peter) scrambled aboard. They had no food or drink. The powerful currents of the Pacific Ocean pushed the raft another 100 kilometers off course until they landed on an uncharted island somewhere off the coast of Tahiti. As they dragged themselves up onto the beach, they were lost, dazed confused and very hungry. The Island was quite fertile with native fruits and berries, and bird life in abundance. The waters were teeming with fish and fresh water could be obtained from a waterhole. This group was destined to spend twelve weeks on the island before being rescued. Q1: How would they survive? Q2: Study the characteristics (Below) of the members of the group; Do you think they would live in harmony? The group consists of: MAX -28 yr old pilot/married/unbeknown to Max he is HIV positive. We want to have a Florida Beach Wedding... Where?!?
My FH and I have been engaged since January 2009. I've been thinking about what kind of wedding we want for the past year and we've come to the conclusion that we want a beach wedding. We live in South Florida near West Palm. We've been living here for the past year and half. We do want a simple wedding and let the beach scenery and palm trees be the main decor of our wedding. (No tacky arches and other opulent decor). We've decided to marry in September after a very lengthy discussion with my FH. He wanted July, but I warned him of the hurricane season and rain and very very very hot days. September is good enough for me, but I won't go for October or November because I'm superstitious enough that most of my relatives have married and divorced in those months! I would love a December wedding, but again, it'd be too hectic for our relatives to fly in between Thanksgiving and Christmas events. As for the # of people we're having, we're actually having a very intimate wedding, our mothers will definitely be there, and probably 15 of our closest friends. We would send invites out to 50+ people, but we know that at least 10 would be able to make it (we have friends and relatives from NY, Chicago, California, Georgia, NJ, etc etc!) What I am trying to find out is which beach- in your opinion from living/visiting in Florida- is the best in September? We would like to go on the West coast of FL, but would not mind having it on the East coast. Remember, we would love to have a very nice scenery of the beach, rocks, and palm trees- that would be a PLUS! Islands like the Peanut Island could be a great example....We wish not to have an indoor wedding, we're a very outdoorsy couple and an indoor ceremony wouldn't fit us! :D If it rains, let it rain! I'm originally from South Georgia, so I am very used to the weather changes as well. September is ideal for me because it is still warm enough to bring down some relatives from NY so they can enjoy more summer days while fall is arriving in NY. moreResolved Question: Hike to the beach with my friends?
I live approximately 250 miles away from Savannah, Georgia and was wondering if it would be realistically possible for a few friends and me (Ages: 16-17) to hike roadside (on roadways that have adequate space for pedestrians...no highways) from our town to a beach near Savannah while camping in areas along the way (such as public parks). I am mostly wondering if this is legal and safe and if you think it would be realistic to complete in less than one month over the summer. We would most likely bypass Atlanta. moreResolved Question: T4 On The Beach 2010 help please?

What should I do?
I am currently taking a break from college due to the loss of my scholarship. I am currently paying back the stafford loan I took out for my first year, which is only 3500 dollars. I'm hoping that I can find some way to pay for school either this fall or summer. That aside, I am obsessing over my next concern... what to actually major in. I have many interests ranging from Physics (preferably astrophysics) to philosophy and law, and nearly everything in between. Educationally, I have no end goal in life. I plan on taking classes off and on for the as long as I can. I say this because i model my actions and life after Renaissance ideals. I believe in physical fitness and athleticism, a well rounded education encompassing the liberal arts, world culture, and the sciences, and a love for classical arts (architecturally, artistically, and musically). Now the problem... where do I start? I know I need a good major that will give me a solid foundation after college, meaning the financial stability to enjoy life with my fiance (well, by then wife) and continue educating myself both independently and institutionally. My fiance's Dad is a college professor and holds the same ideals I do. He holds 3 Bachelor degrees, 2 Master's Degrees, (and is working on his third), and a Doctorate. He informed me that I need not major in the Liberal arts field because jobs were scarce in those fields. This still leaves me with a question: What is marketable? What major will get me a job fast? I'm not worried about making a butt load of money right out college. I simply want to know that when I get out, there will be positions waiting to be filled. I'd really like to become a high school teacher, preferably in either English, Literature, Or Chemistry. My end goal career-wise is to either become a high school teacher, or, if I major in Chemistry, move on to become a graduate professor in astrological chemistry. This leads me to my final concern (I promise I'm almost done, lol). My fiance works in the media. More specifically, she is a producer. Jobs in her field aren't common across the continental U.S. What am I to do if there are no openings anywhere around openings in her field? Let's say that when I graduate from college (and for example's sake with a degree in high school education) there are no openings in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Well I can only find an opening in Georgia, but there are no TV stations hiring there. What happens then? I apologize for the length, but I am extremely stressed about this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. moreVoting Question: What is the name of the song that plays in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, when they r walking on the beach?

Spinning in the tea cups at Disney World, I couldn’t focus on just one thing so I looked at Katie sitting across from me. It was autumn 2004, and I was in fourth grade. My trip to Disney World was the most memorable experience of my life. We’ve been wanting to go there for a while and finally bought out tickets and got a hotel room. When we began driving I had no idea what was in store for me, who knew Ohio was so big?! We had to take two cars to fit all of us. I was me, my sister Savanna, my cousin Kaitlynne, Nana, Papa, Mom and my aunt and uncle. Two days in the car with your cousin and sister would sound miserable, bit it really wasn’t. We had fun on the was there. We stopped at Savannah, Georgia to take a picture because Savanna thought it was cool that there was a city that was the same name as hers. In South Carolina we went to the beach and collected seashells. There were houses down there that reminded me of Dr. Seuss’ drawings. They were abnormally shaped and seemed like cookie jars rather than houses. Just when we crossed the Florida border Katie, Savanna and I asked my mom almost every minute “are we there yet?!” At last we were! I saw the sign that said, “Walt Disney World, Where Dreams Come True” accompanied by Mickey Mouse and a bunch of palm trees! I couldn’t have been any more excited! We went to the front desks and checked in, and then we made our way to the Fantasia hotel. Our room was right by the huge statue of a ballerina and a toy soldier. We got right to the Magic Kingdom to see Cinderella’s castle and ride some rides. I saw Walt Disney’s statue of him and Mickey Mouse called “Partners” right when we walked it. Just seeing it was unforgettable. There, I met Alice, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dumb from my all time favorite movie, Alice in Wonderland. Tweedle-Dee took out my hair and tied it up in a side pony, I was just laughing the whole time and my mom was taking pictures. Katie was talking to Alice, and Savanna was getting her picture with Tweedle-Dumb. That experience was one I’ll never forget. We took pictures with all of the Disney characters; I got their autographs and everything. We went to Epcot, which was really cool. There, we went to italy and Russia and all kinds of places in the World Showcase. The ride inside the Epcot ball was fun. Katie, Papa, mom and I went on the ride called “Mission Space” where you have to land your spaceship on Mars. It felt so real! It sucked me to the seat like a vacuum as we left Earth. We could move our heads or talk. Katie was the pilot and I was the communications manager, everyone had their own jobs on the spaceship. We got there in one piece and came back to Earth with a good report. When the ride was over my mom had to explain to Katie that we didn’t really go to Mars and we we’re just spinning extremely fast. Ever since then I go on every spinning ride when I go to amusement parks. At the Animal Kingdom we took a safari and saw all of the African animals in the wild. There were giraffes, zebras, hippos and even lions. I was afraid because there wasn’t anything keeping the animals from us, it was just open land. At Hollywood Studios we got to see Indiana Jones Live Stunt Spectacular. They were blowing up cars and running around the stage. I could feel the hot fire in my face, even in the audience. There were so many other rides I went on at Disney World, but I just can’t remember them all. This trip taught me to never let go of your childhood because you only have it once. Also, to live every second of your life with happiness. That’s why I cherish the memories I have from Disney World and it is my most memorable experience. That's the end. I got a B on it, so if anyone has any suggestions on hoe to revise it, that'd be cool (^-^) THANK YOU moreResolved Question: Place to live in Florida?
I am graduating high school next year. I will be moving from Georgia to Florida soon afterward but I have no idea what city/county I should consider. So could any Florida resident or knowledgeable person of the state help me out? Here's what I'm looking for in a place to live in Florida... 1. NOT in a big city or a tiny tiny city. But WITH an ideal population with a lot of things to do 2. On the beach 3. An area that has condos or homes for residental use (Not a lot of tourists) 4. The area HAS to be overall inexpensive ( I'll be fresh out of high school and won't have a lot of money) 5. Must have places to rent (Don't want to buy a home at first) 6. Must have good jobs available So does anyone know a town that has what I'm looking for? moreResolved Question: Christains: Do you ever feel bad for Satan?
Contrary to his notorious reputability, he isn't that bad of a guy. He enjoys long walks on short beaches, - Incidentally, "Footprints in the Sand was stolen from Satan, which was originally called "Hoofprints in the Sand" - drinking champagne with his friends after an evening out on the town, and skipping through flower filled meadows during the spring. Although the flowers do have a tendency to spontaneously combust on contact with his skin. Satan is also an accomplished fiddler, and routinely plays with a band of demons at various venues in Georgia........... moreResolved Question: Im confused about making a career choice?
Im currently attending EMT school so that I can either become a firefighter or work on a ambulance. I cant really decide because i really love the beach and surfing. So basically after I get certified I either stay in GA and become a firefighter and be with family or move back to Florida(East Coast) to work on an ambulance and live my surfer life style again. Not to mention I really love kayaking rivers also in Ga! So any advice would be cool. Thanks! moreResolved Question: What do you think of the Tennessee accent?

I live about an hour from there. And my parents live at the beach in Georgia (Tybee Island, where Miley Cyrus filmed a movie at this past summer!). And when I go down there to visit and I talk in public, I feel really stupid. And most people think, oh, well they're Southern too! But no, no one sound as bad as Tennessee and Alabama (we're worse than Alabama though). Do you like the accent, or hate it? Thanks.Sorry, wrong category. I'm 21 years old and I've discovered recently that I love to travel. I want to travel the country (USA) I've lived in the same state most of my life & went to college 2 hours from home in Pennsylvania for 2 years. I've always since I was 9 wanted to live in the South. I'm not sure why but it's been what I've always wanted to do. I'm getting the opportunity to do this now I'm living in South Carolina & finishing up college here. Here's the issue - I'm in Myrtle Beach there are VERY few southerners at the university I'm attending everyone is from NY, NJ, CT, PA. It's crazy I've seen more NJ license plates then I've seen SC. This is not my idea of a "southern experience" at all....I was hoping to meet people with thick southern accents, who have morals, who are friendly, and "country like" if I wanted to meet northerners I'd have stayed in NJ not traveled 14hrs from home!! I'm a bit discouraged I'm thinking of picking up and going to Tennessee or somewhere else "south" like Georgia....is this a bad idea with 3 semesters left of college?? I really have had this "idea/goal" to live down south for years now. moreResolved Question: I have a question about shipping?
I bought something on Friday and the seller shipped it out on Monday November 9. I used USPS First Class Mail. The package came from Atlanta,Georgia and is shipping to Virginia Beach,VA which is where I live. I went on USPS.com to track my order but I don't really understand what this means: Your item was processed through and left our NORFOLK, VA 23501 facility on November 11, 2009. The item is currently in transit to the destination. If I live in Va Beach does that mean I could get my package here by today? moreResolved Question: I want upgrade my car a bit (interior), a 2009 Malibu LTZ, where can I do this?
Can I take it to the actual GM dealer where I bought it or do I have to take it somewhere else? My father bought me a 2009 Chevy Malibu for my 16th birthday. Its a really sharp looking car. Its gold with chrome doorhandles/ window trim. The inside has a dual color (brown/light brown) interior, like on the seats. Anyway, I find it kind of shabby that other mid sized sedans in the price range, being the fully loaded models have real wooden trim and navigation systems/ DVD players on the head rests. I want to switch out the cheap (fake) thin strip of wooden trim for actual wooden trim... like on the doors, around the radio/air conditioning settings and around the gear stick. How much would this cost? I want to upgrade my entertainment system, like screens in the head seats and a touch screen navigation system. I like road tripping to our beach home in Georgia with my friends, but I opted out of taking my car after the first time and went with my dad's SUV because of this. I don't understand why the Impala (only a few thousand dollars more than mine) has wooden interior and mine doesn't. I chose the Malibu over the Impala because I think it looks much better. It's really sharp on the outside and everything. I just don't get why I have to deal with crappy plastic trim. The steering wheel and gear stick are made of leather, but they're surrounded by crappy plastic. Anyway, thanks for any help :) moreResolved Question: British student to study in US?

WASHINGTON – The White House is promising that new figures being released Friday will be a more accurate showing of progress in President Barack Obama's economic recovery plan. It aggressively defended an earlier, faulty count that overstated by thousands the jobs created or saved so far. Ed DeSeve, serving as Obama's stimulus overseer, said the administration has been working for weeks to correct mistakes in early counts that identified more than 30,000 jobs paid for with stimulus money. He said a new stimulus report Friday should correct many mistakes an Associated Press review found that showed the earlier report overstated thousands of stimulus jobs. The AP reviewed a sample of federal contracts, not all 9,000 reported to date, so far. Even in its limited review, the AP found job counts that were more than 10 times as high as the actual number of paid positions; jobs credited to the stimulus program that were counted two and sometimes more than four times; and other jobs that were credited to stimulus spending when none was produced. For example: • Some recipients of stimulus money used the cash to give existing employees pay raises, but each reported saving dozens of jobs with the money, including one Georgia day care that claimed 129 jobs saved. • A Texas contractor whose business kept 22 employees to handle stimulus contracts saw its job count inflated to 88 because the same workers were counted four times. • The water department in Palm Beach County, Fla., hired 57 meter readers, customer service representatives and other positions to handle two water projects. But their total job count was incorrectly doubled to 114. Those errors were included in an early progress report on the stimulus released two weeks ago that featured numerous mistakes, including a Colorado business' claim that its stimulus contract created more than 4,200 jobs. In fact, the actual count was less than 1,000. moreVoting Question: What are the Trick-or-Treat laws in Georgia?
My boyfriend and his family want me to take them trick-or-treating on Saturday, but I'm not sure if Georgia has any kind of laws against certain ages trick-or-treating. Our ages are 31, 22, 19, 18, and 15. I doubt me (22) and the oldest (31) are going to be asking for candy, but I don't wanna get picked up for taking older kids trick-or-treating if it's illegal. Also, I need to know if there are designated times for trick-or-treating in GA? I know each state has different Halloween laws. I used to live in Virginia Beach and kids who were over 12 weren't allowed to wear masks in public/for trick-or-treating. Help me out? And please, don't leave any mean/rude comments. I'm just trying to find something fun to do with my friends for Halloween that doesn't involve drugs and alcohol. moreResolved Question: how to decide where to live?

Hi! Ummm.... this is going to be very long, im very sorry. lots of history to catch up a little to give u a better view. Please bare with me. Thanks Ok so i like this guy and i dont if he liks me. how would i find out? some info: he lives in Georgia and i live in florida but he comes down every year and stays at his uncles house. his younger sis is my best friend. she is my age (15) and he's (17). when ever we get the chance to hang out im always myself around him when there are people around but when we end up alone im quite and he is too kinda. also when ever my brother has his b-day. he always invite the guy i like and at night around 10, we all go out to play manhunt and we always have a lot of fun. it all started about 7 or 8 years ago. i met him for the first time and even if i was 8 i couldn't believe that i would like the guy. even if i didn't really know him. it was kinda Love at First sight. ever since i have been trying to be like unnoticeable, b/c i start to talk a lot and laugh a lot around him. Ok so every year they came i always hanged out with him and his sis. whenever they came we always went to the beach together. when i was 9 or 10 that was the first time i let myself be myself around him and it was so easy, it was like we have always knew each other. that day at the beach we were digging the biggest hole ever.(the three of us, me, him, his sis) the hole was going to be next to the lifeguard thingy and so someone had to constantly bring water so it was easier to dig. so his sis would be the one to dig and me and him would carry our big water matters and try to fill the top with water and bring it back without dropping it. btw it was very heavy. and yeah we would drop it some time but it was him most of the times. he would always laugh when i laugh and i would get really quite at that time but then i would get over it. i didn't really know that i fell in love with him yet. all i knew was i was always trying to impress him. idk y but i tried. anyways so, like it would get really hot sometimes so we would run to the water a splash around. and that was the first and last time he really put his arms around me. it was kinda a hug and then tackle kinda thing. it was so cute!!! i remember trying to tackle him back but it didn't happen he would always end up putting his arms around me and tackle me again. as the years went by we started growing up so to say and we never flirted really. at least not i front of people. well i flirted but idk about him. i first realized that i like him, well actually loved him was bout 12 or 13. i had the biggest crush ever on him and i still do. i think he's the hottest guy i ever met. like compared to me school, on a scale of one to ten. there would be like 2 guys maybe that made it to 9 or 10 but my guy made beyond that. if it were possible he would be 15. trust me....!!! i usually don't fall for guys, i mean i have a lot of guy friends but no, not once in my life did i like anybody as much as i do my guy, i probably thought a guy was cute but not hot or anything. cause i knew there was a hotter one ( the guy i Love.) anyways about two years ago it was my bros b-day and we were playing manhunt(never gets old) and when we went out side he hide under the truck. as the tagger was counting i told the girls to follow my b/c i knew where the best hiding places were. and guess what they were going to go behind the house and i was going to go under the truck!! when i was walking by he grab my ankle and scared to crap out of me, at first i thought it was some hobo under the car trying to get me but then when he found out he said that was hilarious but he was sorry and didn't think it would scare me that bad. b/c i usually can take anything. after that my dad yelled at us for screaming later on and told us to go inside. we ended up playing checkers and i won against his sis and when i played him. i tried not to look at him too much but i couldn't help it sometimes and i would catch myself staring at him. but when he would catch me staring he would smile and i would smile and we would be like that for a little until i notice we weren't the only ones in the living room everyone who was playing manhunt was on the couches watching us play. when they left that night i only had the nerve to say bye to his sis, but i didn't have the guts to say it to him, and i regret that. i wish i can go back and say bye. the next year rolled around and they came down. at church i was surprised that he said Hey first i was so happy that i said Hi a little to loud, but luckily it was before church started. last year i was going to make up my mind that that i was going to get his email or something. it was just for the start, b/c then i was planing to get his # in the email. so that no one would think i liked him. the thing is that he walked away too soon and i didn't get the chance to ask. they were already leaving the next day back home so i was out of luck. by that i thought that moreResolved Question: will my puppy like his new home. .?
