Beaches Of Italy Questions asked
Open Question: Short, cheap holiday ideas?
Me and my boyfriend really fancy a break from everything right now and just need to get away together somewhere for a few days. Would love any suggestions of places/hotels/things to do etc. We're pretty open minded right now.. Cities (in Europe i.e. Venice, Paris), quiet scenic areas (the French Alps maybe), beach towns.. anything like that really. Also, we're not looking to spend too much, we're probably looking in the 3* hotel price range which really doesn't bother us. If anyone has any good ideas for us on where to go and what to do we would really appreciate it (: thank you!!
Oh and, we come from England and we don't really want to travel too far so anywhere in Europe is fine (but preferably either France or Italy).
moreOpen Question: Are these good sleepover birthday party ideas for a teen girl?
Heyy Everyone!
So my bday is coming up and im going to have a sleepover birthday party at my summer house, just like last year.
Last year this is how it went:
we arrived, we ate cupcakes, we went in the pool, we ate a barbeque dinner, we gave each other makeovers (by makeovers i mean black eyeliner and black mascara. then they did my hair, a bob with bows a reveived as presents), we went to the arcade and danced, and the next day we ate breakfast and left.
I thought it was awesome, but i want to try to do something different than last year but still have some same stuff. last year´s theme was seaside, and this year i was thinking Around The World.
Ex. For dinner if we have pizza, I make a sign saying Welcome to Italy! XD
Anyways this is what I was thinking (the times are a bit exaggerated, worst case senerio):
1. Drive everyone to the summer house 10:00-12:00
2. Eat Lunch at the beach 12:00-2:00
3. Swim in the pool 2:00-4:00
4. Dry Off/ Makeover (with more makeup! lol) 4:00-6:00
5. Dinner (Pizza? and cake) 6:00-8:00
6. Arcade 8:00-10:00
7. Get ready for bed/talk 10:00-12.00 (talking will probably take WAAAAy longer XD)
8. Get up and eat breakfast and pack up 8:00-9:00 (8 sounds really early but thats when everyone wakes up lol)
9. Drive and drop off 9:00-11:00
How does that sound? Im probably planning the times to exaggeratedly and ill end up having a lot of free time, any ideas on what to do during that time?
And does that sound too much like last years party? if so, how can i change it?
Oh and if its a rainy day, i have alternatives; Shopping and the movie theater. which one sounds the best, or do you have a better idea?
btw 3 people are coming counting me, i can only invite my closest friends since the house is small and 2 people couldnt come
Thanks a bunch! Haha sorry if this is too complicated lol
moreVoting Question: After reading this bit of history I don't understand why there is hatred of the Jews by Muslims?
I posted it in the religion section and there was no interest: at least there was no animosity...
The year is 1924.
This year on the 4th of March was the 86th Anniversary of an event so momentous that we are still feeling the after-shocks of it today. It marked a turning point in history, but one that many people are blissfully unaware of. To fully appreciate it the significance of this anniversary, we must take ourselves back to Istanbul.
It is sometime after midnight. A single light, coming from the library, is on in the Dolmabache palace. There, an old man sits and reads the Quran pondering over the state of his Ummah. Even though he is surrounded by such opulence as the eye can barely contain, he cuts a lonely figure. His name is Abdul Mejeed and he is the 101st Caliph of Islam.
Two years ago, his cousin Muhammad VI had been exiled to Italy (where he later starved to death) and the Ottoman Sultanate had been abolished. The secular forces of the Young Turks had finally brought about the end of the Ottoman Empire, yet they didn’t feel they could abolish the Caliphate straight away. They began a campaign of violence and intimidation making sure that all those who would support the Caliph were removed from the picture.
Finally, on the night of March 4th, they made their move. A young army messenger opened the door to the library. The Caliph continued to read the Quran. The messenger initially was taken aback by the sight, but steeled himself and read out the proclamation from the Grand National Assembly. The Caliph refused to leave Istanbul, but his staff were worried that they would all be killed by the army that had now surrounded the palace. After weighing his few options, he reluctantly packed some of his clothes and went into exile.
Before Fajr prayer, the Caliph was taken to the main train station at gunpoint where he and his family were put on the Orient Express bound for Switzerland. An envelope containing £2000 was given to the man who left behind entire palaces full of diamonds, emeralds and gold. The station master quickly took the Caliph and his family into his small house adjoining the train station to shelter them from the cold on the platform whilst they awaited the train to start on its sad journey. As they drank tea, the Caliph thanked him for his hospitality. The station master, a Jew, began to cry. “How can you thank me?” he asked knowing that it was the Caliphs of Islam who had preserved the life and dignity of the Jewish people whenever they were persecuted elsewhere in the world. Instead, he thanked the Caliph for the honour of being able to serve him even if for the briefest moment.
In the morning, the Muslims awoke to the news that they had scarcely believed would ever happen – the Caliphate had been abolished. There were isolated riots and uprisings in various places, but the army put them down ruthlessly. The last Caliph spent his days walking along the promenade of a beach in Nice, France. There he lived a humble life until he died of a heart attack in 1944 during the Nazi occupation of France. Now, on the 86th anniversary of this earth-shattering event, the United States of America still has its President, England still has its Queen, and even the Catholics still have their Pope – but the Muslims are condemned to roam the wilderness leaderless. Caliph Abdul Majeed II was eventually buried in Jannat Al Baqi cemetery in Medina. Amidst the great heroes of Islam’s past was laid to rest our most potent symbol of a fractured present. There to this day, the first and the last Caliph of Islam lie within a few yards of each other – a reminder of a once great Muslim nation that has no one to lead it.

moreResolved Question: somebody please help me. Please.?
I feel like I want to die! I'm constantly searching for happiness and meaning in my life but there is none. I've wanted to find my soulmate for years and years (im 26) and I found him a few months ago. But he left me and cut me off completely. The B astard. I work a 9-5 and get p issed on the weekends. My life can't continue like this. I don't like people very much as I feel they can';t offer me anything, and I feel that they're all just acting how they think they should. I spend alot of time alone watchin films. To look at me you'e be completely shocked. On the outside I appear confident, cool, funny. I'm attractive and get alot of attention from men... but something's missing... I often have suicidal thoughts but I have the sense to believe that things will get better so I never attempt it. I've self-harmed over the years though and went too far once with one on my arm and now the scars there forever. God knows what people think when they look at it. Anyway I feel like I need to escape somewhere.... like a little village in italy or an obscure beach in Thailand or something. I'm living in London and have no family here etc, they're all in North England. Is there anyway I can escape? Should I quit my job and travel the world to get some meaning in my life. I don't know what to do I just want to escape.

moreResolved Question: Plz tell the figure of speeches and critical appreciation of poem OUR CASURINA TREE---Toru Dutt.....?
POEM-----
Like a huge Python, winding round and round
The rugged trunk, indented deep with scars
Up to its very summit near the stars,
A creeper climbs, in whose embraces bound
No other tree could live. But gallantly
The giant wears the scarf, and flowers are hung
In crimson clusters all the boughs among,
Whereon all day are gathered bird and bee;
And oft at nights the garden overflows
With one sweet song that seems to have no close,
Sung darkling from our tree, while men repose,
When first my casement is wide open thrown
At dawn, my eyes delighted on it rest;
Sometimes, and most in winter — on its crest
A gray baboon sits statue-like alone
Watching the sunrise; while on lower boughs
His puny offspring leap about and play;
And far and near kokilas hail the day;
And to their pastures wend our sleepy cows;
And in the shadow, on the broad tank cast
By that hoar tree, so beautiful and vast,
The water-lilies spring, like snow enmassed.
But not because of its magnificence
Dear is the Casuarina to my soul:
Beneath it we have played; though years may roll,
O sweet companions, loved with love intense,
For your sakes, shall the tree be ever dear!
Blent with your images, it shall arise
In memory, till the hot tears blind mine eyes!
What is that dirge-like murmur that I hear
Like the sea breaking on a shingle-beach?
It is the tree’s lament, an eerie speech,
That haply to the unknown land may reach.
Unknown, yet well-known to the eye of faith!
Ah, I have heard that wail far, far away
In distant lands, by many a sheltered bay,
When slumbered in his cave the water-wraith
And the waves gently kissed the classic shore
Of France or Italy, beneath the moon,
When earth lay trancèd in a dreamless swoon:
And every time the music rose — before
Mine inner vision rose a form sublime,
Thy form, O Tree, as in my happy prime
I saw thee, in my own loved native clime.
Therefore I fain would consecrate a lay
Unto thy honor, Tree, beloved of those
Who now in blessed sleep, for aye, repose,
Dearer than life to me, alas! were they!
May’st thou be numbered when my days are done
With deathless trees — like those in Borrowdale,
Under whose awful branches lingered pale
“Fear, trembling Hope, and Death, the skeleton,
And Time, the shadow;” and though weak the verse
That would thy beauty fain, oh fain rehearse,
May Love defend thee from Oblivion’s curse.
moreResolved Question: Why do so many illegal immigrants blame them being poor & w/o citizenship on everyone other than themselves?
I am a second generation immigrant. My whole family has came here from Italy and started off with absolutely nothing. Although, at this point almost everyone in my family is very successful. Once my uncle's parents got here from Italy they had absolutely nothing. They had 5 kids, and lived in a once bedroom apartment in Cutehy, Ca(not the best place to live, right next to bell gardens, commerce, south gate, and East L.A.). Anyways, his parents worked their asses off, learned English, got their citizenship, and were able to eventually open a shoe store, and purchase a beautiful home in Long Beach, CA, which is now worth over $800,000. He put every single one of his kids through college, 3 of them became successful lawyers, one a teacher, and one a web designer. My mom's cousins all did well for themselves too, even though their parents had nothing once they arrived here either. But she made it, she may not of went to college, but her parents saved up enough money to buy a house in Downey, CA, which she now lives in, refinanced, and now owns houses near Disneyland, apartment buildings, and condos, and rents them all out. Her sister does the same thing. So why is it that everyone in my family worked so hard and became successful, while everyone in my fiance's family are very poor, and never got their citizenship, and never even learned English? Is it harder for them because they are Mexican? I can only see that things would be easier for them, since Mexico is 3 hours away, and Italy is on the other side of the world.
moreResolved Question: Where to go to vacation (read) ?
I want to go to vacation for a week. But i don't know where.
We don't have little kids in my family so it doesn't need to be child friendly.
Something in europe, i was thinking Italy or Greece. Maybe Portugal.
But i don't know where. I like to go to the beach and swimming pool. And i like hotels that are All Inclusive. But i want that i can go out to the city to go sightseeing.
For the last 7 years, every summer, we went to turkey, which is alot of fun because there is everything i want, except to be able to go sightseeing because in turkey, where there is the sea, there is not city, only desert.
I want sea, good hotel and city.
Thanks :)
moreVoting Question: Need a beach house name?!?
Looking for a name for our beach house. Something like "Bramasole" which is the name of Francis Mayes house in Cortona Italy (means yearn for the sun in Italian). A word in Italian that means something beachy (sun, sunset, retreat, beach) etc. would be perfect. Any ideas?
moreVoting Question: What should I do? I need advices?
So the case is that one of my best friends (I have lots of great friends) has asked to come with her and her family to their beach house, and I really wanna go with her. But I'm also a little mad at her. this needs a long explanation.
Every time I'm with her I really enjoy it, event though everything she talks about is something related to her. Of course she sometimes asks whether I'm alright or not, but when I tell what I'm doing she never asks in to it and I do that with her all the time.
Also in the past she used to text me everyday, now she doesn't. She is one of those persons who see a person one single time and then she thinks they are friends. And now she's found a new person who she text's all the time and writes to (I know cuz of facebook) I mean, she's just been in Italy, she didn't even tell that she was home. She also can't keep our appointment's, once we had planned to go to an amusement park, us to and my sister. Then she brought along her NEW boyfriend on a "date" when we already had made plans and then they were like to magnets sticking together.
NOTE: she is one of those persons who doesn't think to far ahead. But she also loves her friends and shows by giving them hugs and such, but she doesn't really think so much about their feelings.
I love spending time with her, but also when I get home after visiting her, I am really WORN out.
I cant really figure out whether I should tell her about it and stay home (I don't know how she will react) or just keep quiet and go, or just not go and not telling her.
Please help me, I don't know what I should do?
moreResolved Question: Why didn't I get drunk when I drank a lot of alcohol?
I'm a thin, 18-year-old girl and I NEVER drink alcohol (except a glass of wine twice in Italy a year ago), and tonight I went to a bar with my friends. First I had a Sex on the Beach cocktail, and then I had a Coors Light, all within an hour. I thought I would get buzzed or feel SOMETHING because my alcohol tolerance should be really low. But I didn't feel anything at all, even though this was my first time really drinking alcohol. Why?
moreResolved Question: 3 Day Sardinia Itinerary?
Hi Everyone,
After the posts I received about the best beaches in Italy, we have decided to make our final stop of our one month driving holiday Sardinia.
We are getting the ferry from Corsica on 26th August and our ferry from Sardinia to Barcelona is 06.30am on 29th August.
As the last stop on our holiday, I really want to take full advantage of just relaxing in the sunshine, yet still managing to see some of the beautiful places in Sardinia. Understand won't get to see a lot in 3 days, so really want to see the best of the best beaches etc.
Also need advise on where to stay, should we stay in one place and use it as our base, or move each night to a different area?
Thanks for any help
moreVoting Question: Where to move? Can anyone help?
I am really in need of some help. Even though this may seem impossible but I was really thinking of moving. However, I am really stuck. I want to find a place with plenty of diversity-without one race dominating another. Plus, I want to move to a place with few people living in it. I need the town to look "green/sunny" (think georgia, italy, puerto rico). Also, I'm more of a mourning person so I need lots of daytime activities like museums, theaters, etc. I also need a place that supportive of the LBQGT community. And last but not least I'm not a sports person, I like to look at animals but I don't like to up close and personal with bears and foxes and other wildlife creatures.
P.S. I like the south/west coast but in no way at all, want to be near any oceans, lakes, swamps or beaches.
moreResolved Question: Why doesn't anyone want to go to Iceland?
Am I the only one who wants to go there? Seriously. I'm a rising senior, and I'm planning to go to Iceland after high school graduation as opposed to Beach Week. But like...no one wants to go with me. It's an amazing country! I know some people are going all over Europe to Spain, Italy, England, France, and Germany and whatnot but...why not Iceland? No one wants to go there! I asked so many of my friends. No one wants to go. It's financially feasible, so there's no money problem. It's just the problem of interest.
What do you think? What is unappealing about Iceland?

I am looking at taking a holiday in Italy with my 18 month old son. I would like to go to an area close by to nice sandy beaches for the day time. moreResolved Question: NIGERIAN MEN: Male friends more important than their future wives?
My cousin in Germany is getting married in September to a Nigerian man 20 yrs.(!!!) her junior. I am concerned about many things. One thing is his behavior with his friends. Seems they are his first priority. When my cousin visited him in Nigeria he brought 5 friends with him to pick her up at the airport. During her stay they nearly never spent time alone. Some of his friends even stayed at his apartment during her 2 week vacation. They met with his friends EVERY day. In the evenings they gathered with other friends. Day in,day out all the same!!! They went for 2 days to a hotel at the beach.Of course with 3 of his friends in tow. When my cousin left Nigeria she was in tears. He promised her that all would be different after they get married an he would stay in Germany for good.
Then came his turn to visit HER in Germany last February. He stayed for 3 weeks. During the first week she drove him around all over Germany so he could visit friends, who already immigrated. The second week he traveled to Austria to meet a friend who is living there!! Third week: My cousin drove him to Amsterdam, Netherlands. He has friends there too. On their way back, a visit to other friends in Germany was payed.
He will come to Germany again in August to getting prepared for their wedding. But you are wrong if you think that he is going to spend the whole month until the wedding with my cousin. He will arrive on a Monday but 2 days later he will already be on his way to Italy, to visit another friend for 6 days!!!
Is this "friends come first behavior"common in Nigerian culture?? Should my cousin be concerned too?? Might his age (he is 30) be the reason and he will chance some day when he gets older?
BTW Some of his friends are calling my cousin (she is 50) "Mama". While I see another big red flag my cousin thinks "it´s cute"I do NO T judge the whole Nigerian race. That is ridiculous!! What would YOU do if your cousin calls you long distance in tears again and again because she is afraid her marriage might not work at all. She is afraid that his friends might interfere or he will put them first forever
I just wanted to get an insight into the Nigerian culture so she can be prepared to what might laying ahead.
I wish them both happiness and never ending love.
For those who think I am a racist: I would dump a man who would treat me like this. No matter if he is American, Mexican, Italian,Indian, German aso.,aso.
Thank you ,9javiola for your answer. It helped a lot alreadyPosters PLEASE READ the whole story before you call me bad and prejudiced!

moreVoting Question: How do the beginning of my book sound?
My eyes aimlessly wandered my surroundings; from the deep woods on both sides of the car or the never ending road ahead, to Elliot who was sitting beside me in the car. We exchanged awkward glances every now and again, usually when Anya and Mason would kiss violently in the back seat. I wondered how Paul slept through all this madness, then again he slept all the time. It was so loud; 3Oh!3's sweet voice and Anya's hideous laugh made for quite the sleeping environment. We'd been trying to find this "perfect" beach house for four hours now, which was making us two hours behind schedule. I hated being behind schedule more than anything.
"Soph, can you hand me that soda?" I turned my head to the left to see Anya's shining face. We'd been best friend's since 4th grade; Mason was starting to mess things up. All of a sudden Anya fell head over heels for this boy and there I was put on the back burner...again. This happened every time Anya got a new boyfriend; they'd date for two weeks and I'd be forgotten, but then they'd break up and I was back in her life again. Mason and Anya were going on 3 months now.
"Uh, sure," I grabbed the Coca-Cola that was sweating furiously; Elliot forgot to tell us his air conditioning went out a week prior to this trip. I handed the soda back to her and waited for her to return it to me. Elliot looked at me, once again, but smiled this time. What was his deal? She passed it up to me and I obediently put it back in the cup holder.
We pulled into a driveway; the house residing on top of it looked absolutely beautiful. Elliot looked at me once more, the grin growing. I smiled back this time. He stopped the truck at the designated stop for us and he pulled the key for the house from the dashboard. We leaped out of the car almost at once. Anya and Mason immediately locked hands and started walking up the stairs; it was a huge house so I figured they wanted dibs on the room.
"It's nice, isn't it?" Elliot said without looking at me. I admired his smile and his pale blue eyes; they just spoke to me and it was so hard to resist.
"Yeah," I sized up the house and spoke a silent prayer that I wouldn't get lost. "Um, what was with the lo-" Elliot looked at me suddenly so I got silent. It was a nervous habit; I don't like talking to guys when they look at me.
"I like your hair like that. You don't wear it that way a lot." He touched my golden hair that was half up, half down and moved his hand to my face. His hands- so soft.
"Thanks," I choked out. He leaned in for a kiss. I turned my head, of course. Damn it, Sophie! I thought to myself. "Elliot, I'm sorry. You're her brother..." I looked at him, my eyes staring into his.
"It's fine. I understand, Soph." His other hand wrapped around me for a hug, in which I obeyed. I stepped back to the car and opened the trunk. Anya packed like she was moving to Italy and Mason barely brought enough for a day. They were so different, yet so in love.
Paul finally rose from the backseat of the car, his hair a mess. I looked at him through the window as he stuck his tongue out at me. I had to giggle. Elliot grabbed his suitcases and walked off to the house; I couldn't read his emotions any more. Was he mad? Didn't think so before but I wasn't too sure anymore.
"Paul, grab this!" I screamed. One of Anya's suitcases was about to fall over and was potentially going to fall on my foot. He rushed over to help me, kindly. Paul lifted the suitcase up above my head and down onto the gravel. It wasn't hard to hold anything above my head; I'm 5'2. I mouthed "thank you," as I grabbed Anya's other suitcase out of the truck.
After getting all the suitcases into the living-room of the lively beach house, we headed out to the water. Well, all of us besides Paul; he crashed early, as usual. The water looked perfect; so still and enlighted by the setting sun. The water was no longer a blue-ish clear as it was when we arrived,
but more of a pink and purple.
Anya and Mason jumped in right away; his brown shaggy, curly hair became plastered to his face. I despised him more than I despised any of Anya's previous boyfriends. I couldn't help but to watch them dive into the water time after time again and wonder how deep it was, but that was for me NOT to find out.
“Elliot,” I watched him patiently, as he gathered dry wood for our bonfire we planned on having later that night. He looked over his shoulder at me, waiting for me to finish my sentence. “Uh- do you need any help?” I stuttered over a few words but eventually gained my confidence back to finish the sentence.
“Yeah, come here,” he put the stick down in a neat pile and watched me get up. I dropped my flip flops where I was sitting and calmly walked over to wear hwear he was standing. “Look, Sophie, I really do like you. Why don't you like me?” I looked at him surprised.
“I do like you-” I stopped to look around.
“Then why didn't you kiss me?” His voice redirected my attention towards him again.
“You're Anya's brother. She's my best friend, Elliot.” I looked at my feet; the light sand slightly covering my toes and the tops of my feet made my feet feel dirty.
“You let her push you around too much, Soph. She holds you back!”
“I can't believe you said that,” My eyes met his once more before he leaned in for another kiss. This one I just couldn't escape. His soft lips met mine gently as I blushed furiously.
“See, it wasn't that bad. Was it, Soph?” he said once we disconnected our lips.BY THE WAY *****
This is NOT a love story. It's just the first chapter introducing the characters. It's actually about a group of five colleged ages kids, who go to a beach house that's not theirs but their friends who isn't there, to party it up. But instead the find a dead body. Cops points ALL fingers at them so they try to prove their innocence.

It won't be a lone story, however love will be involved. It's about five friends that go to a beach house that is their friend's, however he's not there. I'm going to Sardinia in Italy for a 2 week vacation on Monday. I'll be on the beach the whole time, and my brothers are bringing their friends but I wasn't allowed to bring mine. I'm a 16 year old girl from New Zealand and usually that's a conversation starter but how do you actually meet hot guys on a beach? just smile and make eye contact? Tips on how to get guys to approach me would be great (: I'm not fat or hideously ugly, but I'm not a super model. I have long curly light brown hair, blue/green eyes and hopefully I'll get a tan! Am I the kind of girl that cute Italian guys would notice on vacation? (: I speak Italian btw, so don't think theres going to be language issues haha. PLUS, what do I pack!? I'm going for 2 weeks.

can someone please translate this passage from english to french without an electronic translater, as they are sometimes wrong. thanks :) xx -
I prefer holidays where there is a beach, and I can relax in the hot sun whilst getting a tan. I am not a big fan of holidays where it is cold. I prefer to be in the warmth. My favourite places include Spain, Italy and France.
I go on holiday every summer, and the place I have recently visited is France. I went there because I have family there and it is a pleasant and easy destination. I travelled by car. The beach has a beautiful view and the weather is lovely. My family and I tried our hardest to get a tan.
I stay at a hotel not far from the beach, and it is a very warm and welcoming hotel. The accommodation is good and the food is amazing. I love to go swimming in the pool. The one bad thing is that the shower runs very slowly!
During my stay, I visited a water based theme park. I done activities such as abseiling, canoeing and water surfing. I got very wet, but it was worth it. I went swimming almost every day of my stay, and sunbathed for the remaining time.
In the future, I am hoping to go to Cyprus as I am keen to explore the beaches and get an even better tan. The sun looks hot, and the hotels look amazing.

Driving to Italy in July, going to be there for 10-16 days.
Just to enjoy ourselves, taking the car, backpacks, tents, and going to camp out at different locations,
Last time we were a little south of Rome and just slept on the beach every night! It was awesome!
So what I wat to know is, where are the best beaches, best places to kick it a couple night's in Italy?
Some good places not packed with tourists :)
ThanksThanks, dont worry max I never leave my home country without my AK-47. I even keep it in my tent with me.
Lol im just kidding, but I am not staying completley isolated you know, It has to be a beach where they will allow us to sleep there but also want to see the people. Just not the fat faced loud tourists.

Viareggio is a city located in central Tuscany in north-west. Its name derives the path set in the Middle Ages that connected the fort on the beach in Lucca. The city can be reached by car, plane or train. Its hotel rooms are mainly located in any part of city, but can also be rented apartments, villas or condominiums, mainly in the center. Many parts of the city that can be visited: the nightlife, with clubs where there is live music every night with different themes; Lido Di Camaiore where celebrations are held on the beach in Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi are the most beautiful and renowned Italian (Seven Apples, Twiga, detached, houses of the French). You can shop the avenue Margaret. In July and August you can see the "Puccini Festival" in Torre del Lago Puccini. To cross the city just rent a bike or a scooter. is characterized by natural landscapes, such as Pinewood West. At the center there are buildings like Piazza Mazzini and the Tower of Matilde 1544 Villa Paolina, built in the nineteenth century. Along the beach you can find various architectural styles such as the Chalet Martini. In this city held one of the most famous carnivals in Italy and Europe. The floats parade along the promenade of Viareggio. represents the artistic and organizational capacity of the Italians in the world. Third show of the 2009 broke all records were in fact more than 250,000 people to cheer on the floats of cards that have marched along the promenade of Viareggio
moreResolved Question: Why do many people have this notion of europe as this super liberal place?
Sure, beer and hash were freely sold on the streets by the Pakistani, Moroccan, and African immigrants and people would smoke hash and pot on the streets and parks without worrying about the Spanish police. Wine was also sold for a euro each. And you would find prostitutes freely advertising their profession and you would see nude beaches and porn magazines everywhere and people getting it on in public.
But from my experience in Barcelona, people generally quite conservative and catholic just like the way latin americans are. Although you would see men and women have intense make out sessions in public or at parties, they most of the time are couples in a relationship or married..
and this is not just barcelona..this also happens in other parts of spain to a stronger degree, italy, and even southern france..to sum it up, this is a mediterranean norm.what i am trying to say is it is liberal in some ways and conservative in other ways as wellspain also has a surprisingly large number of hardcore right wing people..some of these people even believe that Spain should go back to having a franco dictatorship-like regimejust because something is legalized doesnt mean that the people as a whole believe or support those laws.ok true, barcelona has many liberals compared to the rest of spain..but go to the outlying parts of barcelona or go to rural spain/southern spain and you will see large segments of conservative, catholic believers
moreResolved Question: Jewelry experts please help, What does the code 'WG 750' on my necklace mean?
On my trip at the beach the previous week, I found a small diamond necklace washed and sparkling in the water near the shore, and yes the diamond is real and it has approximately 0.4 to 0.5 Carat weight with a rough value of SGD 300 (US$ 217.09). That's what the Jewelry store told me after they run small tests on it.
but on the fastener of the necklace theres a print that says 'WG 750 - Italy'. So, it was made in Italy but does 'WG' means it's white gold? and '750' meaning 0.75 carat white gold?
moreResolved Question: A little help please! :)?
Could you kindly take a look on this dialogue and let me know if there are some grammatical errors, wrong verbs, .. or something wrong?
Dear Mary,
I thank you for your kind interest!
My holiday was really awful!
We were having a walk at the beach and all of a sudden a dog arrived and bit my left calf. What a pain!
The dog's owner and Robert immediately took me to the hospital where I was treated and had a lot of tests; I was there for about seven hours and I felt really strange for that situation.
I feel better now however and I think that I won't have a walk at the beach for a lot of time!
Next week-end I'll have a walk in my garden!
See you soon.
Kisses.
Anna.
Thank u all for your help from Italy! :)))))))
moreVoting Question: can someone please translate this into French for me? please use relatively basic terms?
nice is a beautiful city located on the french riveira in the provence Alpes cote d'Azur. It is very sunny and has a temperate climate.
A tourist travelling to nice can visit the beaches, the musuems and walk along the seaside promenade.A major tourist attraction is the colline du chateau, a beautiful and historic castle that over looks nice. Nice has 20 museums, 15 theartres and 14 high schools/universities. It has many clubs and restaurants and is renowned for its vegatable market that sells fresh produce.
A famous dish in Nice is Socca, which is a flat pancake made of chickpea flower. Many people eat it for breakfast everyday. There is also lots of italian food in Nice (as it used to be part of italy) And because Nice is on the water seafood is very popular.
Nice has many lavender fields where the lavender is used for perfumes and soaps. Although Nice isnt famous for its wines, there are many to choose from and people like to drink pink wine as it goes nicely with salad and seafood.
I have allways wanted to go to Nice, because one of my favourite movies (to catch a thief) was set there along the promenade du anglais
