Open Question: My mom's "assistant" surprised us in Hawaii and I AM F*CKING LIVID?????????????????????????????/////////???

I'm 16. I am so mad. So basically, my mom has an assistant for work. My mom is 43 and the assistant is a male who is about 30ish. He has been her assistant for a long time (like 2 years) and now they are "close friends." They hang out a lot. Also, a while ago I saw a picture of just them two at a fancy restaurant on my mom's birthday. Also, a few months ago my sister and her best friend went on my mom's laptop. They found a bunch of pictures of my mom and some guy in Spain. Turns out, my mom had told me and my sister that she was going to the East coast for a business trip, but she was actually in Spain with her boyfriend. My sister confronted my mom about it and my mom basically said it's her life and it's none of her business. I didn't see the pictures and my sister didn't mention any names, but I am 95% sure that her boyfriend is her assistant. My mom does not know that I know this. I guess I could be wrong, but my mom is always hanging out and talking to this assistant. Oh yeah, and my mom is married to my dad. I guess it doesn't really count as marriage because they don't talk at all and my dad is mentally ill. So my mom booked a trip to Hawaii for just me and her. She chose this island because her assistant had lived here before for 60 days, and he liked it. We arrived at night. The next morning, the assistant surprised my mom and called her and said that he was on a flight to Hawaii on the same island. WTF? He didn't even tell my mom he was coming until he boarded the plane. My mom told me, and I was PISSED. I said I don't want to see him. She said okay, I didn't have to see him. After this, my mom and I were driving around. Suddenly she told me that her assistant was at the airport and that we need to pick him up. I was still mad because she said I didn't have to see him. When he arrived, he gave both me and my mom lays, which was nice I guess. My mom already told him I was pissed, so he knew. I basically didn't talk to him or acknowledge him at all. Then we went to go eat. After that, they said they wanted to go snorkeling. I still was mad and barely talking. We went to the hotel, and he changed in our room. I was sitting on the patio and I started crying. My mom was trying to comfort me, and after a while he came out and he said he was sorry and he wasn't trying to intrude or anything. I told my mom to go without me, and she said no. So then we all went snorkeling. He was very helpful and showed us the beaches to go to. He knows a lot about the island because he lived here 10 years ago. He is really nice, but I am uncomfortable around him, and I'm angry that he is here. I also think he is sketchy. He stares at me A LOT! WTF? Like I was sitting in the backseat and he would keep looking back at me. He is just weird. It's supposed to be me and my mom's vacation. I told my mom this, and she said it still is, but she is not going to deny help when it is offered, because he is really helpful. He is staying at another hotel next to us. He left to his hotel. and my mom and I ate dinner and went back to our hotel. Last night mom and him were downstairs drinking wine while I was alone in the hotel room. WTF???????????????????????????????????… IT WAS ALL A PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT HAD TO BE! My sister was REALLY mad that she couldn't go. My mom made it sound like my sister was unable to go was because my sister had plans. But it had to be because this "assistant" was coming, and my sister knew it's her boyfriend. And this assistant obviously didn't fly here to surprise us!! HE OBVIOUSLY BOUGHT HIS TICKET A LONT TIME AGO AND THEY PLANNED THIS. This vacation was all a master plan so she could go on vacation with him and not look guilty!! I told my mom that I knew she planned this. And she was like "I promise I didn't plan this." I don't believe her because she's not being that defensive. Don't I have a right to be pissed?! Even if he is really helpful and can help us get around the island,I think it's still totally inappropriate for us to go snorkeling and spend time together. IT'S ME AND MY MOM'S VACATION!! I refuse to see him or spend time with him. How do I deal with this? Basically all morning I was crying and screaming because my mom said we were going to the beach, and I found out he was driving us. So I started yelling about it and how I don't want to see him AT ALL. He could help us since he used to live here, but I don't care. MY MOM KNOWS I'M PISSED. but her excuse is that he is really helpful. sure, he is, BUT DOES HE HAVE TO SPEND TIME WITH US!! How do I express this to my mom? Open Question: What are some tips for getting married in Hawaii?

My fiance and I want to get married in Hawaii next August, (2011), and need some tips. We would love to get married on Honolulu. We will have about 10 guests and would love to do something with a luau and ceremony on the beach. I know it gets hot and humid in August so if anyone has experienced another month from March-August please lets us know! =) ANY tips would be greatly appreciated! Oh and we are from California, flying out of LAX. We plan to stay on the island for 5 nights.Anything really would be appreciated. If anyone has gotten married there before and could share their experiences I would appreciate that. Also, my fiance's family lives on Honolulu, Ewa Beach on the naval base, so that is one of the reasons why we are going there, not because we randomly decided to have a wedding there. Open Question: Why do i feel like my brain isn't functioning fast enough like a normal body? i mean physically not mentally.?

okay so before i went to hawaii i felt fine i was okay i didn't feel dizzy or anything. but after hawaii, getting off the plane...i feel dizzy and i feel like i'm moving, if you understand what i mean. kinda like you've been on a boat for awhile and then when you get off your body still moves like you're still on the boat. i HOPE you get what i mean. well its been 3 days since i got off the plane, and yeah for the next 2 days i've felt dizzy and i feel like i'm moving all over the place but i DON'T feel sick. today is the 3rd day and i feel like my cerebellum/brain isn't really moving as fast as it should, like my reaction to things....like i'm not absolutely alert....but i can still respond, i walk fine and talk fine. you know when you're really sleepy and you just wanna fall over and lay down? i'm feeling a little tiny bit of that but not alot. just like a millimeter of that. but i'm still awake and not sleepy i just feel like my head isn't really wanting to hold up anymore.....whats wrong with me? like is it a problem??? please answer. i hope not i believe i'm wayy too young have anything wrong. if anything i will add more details when ya'll answer and when i see them. its been 3 days, liek i'm so worried right now that somethings wrong with me or my brain. i need to mention that i got a cut on my foot when i was swimming by i dont know what in that beach in hawaii, also i went hiking on this trail there and i went with open scrapes (that i got while i was hiking because of my converse and the scrapes are my my heels) and they say i shouldnt hike when you got scrapes or open cuts cause this bacteria known as leptospirosis can really harm you. but i got the cut after that just the scrapes while hiking... so i'm really worried.but my cut is healing, its closed up and not infected. more

Open Question: Traveling to Boracay?

I'm considering vacationing in Boracay during the holidays (last 2 weeks of December) and have the following questions - - What is the best way to get to Boracay from Taiwan? I've heard either fly to Manila and take a ferry to Boracay or fly directly to an airport closer to Boracay? - How is Boracay these days? The beautiful beach/sand is very well known but many fear that the island has gotten way too commercialized and croweded. Is it going to be very busy/crowded during Xmas holidays? - Loding options.. according to the online resource, the average rate seems to be affordable but most hotel/resort website show extremely high rates during the holidays (over $200 USD/night). Is this real? - How is Boracay compared to other beach destinations around the world such as Hawaii (Maui), Cancun Mexico or Maldives? - Heard Cebu is a nice beach destination in the Philippines? Is it recommended over Boracy? Any info is very much appreciated!!! more

Voting Question: What are these coned shaped sea creatures?? they stick on the sea walls/rocks.?

they are small and the top looks like a cone and the bottom is a flat surface which is pretty much the body of the creature. and its sticks on the rocks like starfish do..i was in hawaii (waikiki beach) recently and this one hawaiian lady told be that they were known as alani or something like that and there are to kinds of them, one is coned shape and one is pointy and she told me not to step on them or touch them cause they'll sting you...? i'm not sure but i really wanna know what they are and what exactly they're called in english. and if its harmful and how they look like cause i remember picking up and sitting on a whole bunch not realizing i was...(i guess they didn't sting me?) but yeahh pleaseee answer.they're most likely not barnacles.....can these limpets hurt you? or the other kind that the lady was talking about? or they dangerous? more

Resolved Question: Wedding ceremony on the beach or grass? I'd really appreciate your opinions?

My fiance and I both cannot decide on where to have the ceremony. The only reason we even wanted to get married in Hawaii is because we both wanted a beach wedding but Palm Grove looks amazing. I am wearing a white princess gown, similar to the dress Kate Hudson wore in bridewars, purple ribbon instead but it's not as big and it has lace over it. I was planning on wearing barefoot sandals with it too. He is wearing a black suit, a white waistcoat and a purple tie. I think with my dress the grass would be a better idea but we'd be having an aisle runner if we choose the beach. But anyway, we can't decide. Please help. Which do you prefer? Voting Question: Transferring from community colleges to California State Univ. Long Beach?

I hope to attend CSULB during my final two years of college, but before that I plan on getting my general education done at a community college first. However, I am out of state, currently about to attend a local community college here in Hawaii, but I also want to transfer from here to a community college near CSULB for my second year as to gain residency in time when I transfer to CSULB to avoid expensive tuition. Is this a good idea? Or is it worth it to finish community college here then transfer after 2 years to save me the hassle of worrying if my credits transfer over between community colleges? more

Resolved Question: What is Canada like :) ?

I'm 16, nearly 17 and I really want to move out of England when I'm older. I want to become a pediatric nurse and I have always wanted to either move to Hawaii, Miami or Canada. I was looking up about Miami and a lot of sites said it's really hot and they have nice beaches but it's quite dangerous. I was just wondering what Canada is like? Are some places isolated? Resolved Question: Getting Married In Vegas (Plus going to Hawaii and San Francisco?

My Partner and I live in the UK however due to a lot of bad luck, were going to get married after 7 years together next May in Vegas. We get married on 3/5/2011, however are in Vegas for 5 days, Hawaii for 7 days and San francisco for 4 days. Has anyone ever done this before? any recommendations on where to go or advice on what we'll need (Inc spending money) We were thinking of about 3K in spending money as its room only across all places. Voting Question: What flowers can I grow?

Never successfully grown flowers indoor before, but I'm interested in growing an exotic Hawaii looking flower in my beach themed room. I usually keep it about 73 degrees and sleep with the fan on high. I would be willing to buy a light for the flowers and whatever other materials needed. Any advice? Thanks! more

I'm going to Hawaii in a month. I know most of my time in Hawaii will probably be spent at the beach, water activities, etc., but I normally look really gross at the beach, haha. I look fine in my bathing suit, not the most blessed in the chest area, but i have a flat stomach and cute butt. I just tend to sweat a lot and get all yucky, and I don't know what to do with my hair... Basically I'm asking how to keep myself looking good/fresh at the beach. This will be my 6th time going to hawaii and all the other times i've gone, we've just visited family and ahve gone to waikiki, ala moana (mall/beach), diamond head, pearl harbor, and the dole plantation. Fun times but I would love to do other things. My friend's boyfriend said there's so much more i have to do. He suggested north shore, a surf museum, lagoons, luaus, and eating a certain hot dog? I've had shaved iced and spam but i want more of a hawaiian experience...also snorkling, luas, etc... Also, we're meeting with other family members (1st cousins) i haven't seen (or met) in years. My cousin (who went to farrington high school) said that alot of friends would pitch in and take pictures? She said something how everyone would meet at a location and have a photographer take group pictures. The family would looove to do this but we don't know where and who to contact that's not too expensive. Another random question: i'm interested in buying a sarong. Should i just buy one here (bc i heard its more expensive there?) or just get 1 at the international market? How much would stuff cost? more

Resolved Question: My sisters guinea pig is dead. It is her birthday?

My sister's birthday was on the 7th of July. She turned 11. On the 7th I said I would take care of the guinea pig. I said that because it had some signs of death. I told her I will do the job for a few days. We have not celebrated her birthday yet. My Mom is a flight attendant, and she had to fly to New York, rest, then come back. She came back last night. My Dad is a lawyer. He had to go to Georgia for a lawsuit case. He came back on Thursday night. We can't do the party today because my Dad's cousin got married last night, and they are having another party today. We need to rest on Sunday. On Monday the whole family is getting together to celebrate her birthday, at the beach. We have done a lot of traveling this summer and we still will. We already went to Hawaii for 2 weeks, A Lake, Virginia, and DC. Our last summer vacation will be in October. Then fall begins. So I checked on the guinea pig today. He is 6 years old. Pretty old. He spent 1 year with the breeder and 1 year with the pet store and 1 year with an abusive family. Then we got him and we have had him for 3 years. We have took good care of him. The maximum of what he needs. My sister doesn't really have any friends, so that guinea pig was her only friend. 2 years ago, my sister transfered schools. 30 minutes away. She used to go to a school with 300 kids per grade. At her new school, she had 100 kids per grade. She used to be popular, at her old school the best of friends she could get is 3. I'm nearing my mid 20's and summer's always an exciting time. There's rarely any sun where I'm from and the weather's always cold and rainy. During spring time, we're all excited and already making plans before the season even hits. This summer (especially), my friends and I have made so many plans - trips around here, the beach, things you can only do during the summer time; however, i feel that the older we get, the less time we have for each other. I work the morning shift and most of the time, when i FEEL and want to enjoy the sun, i end up going home and clean around, catch up w. chores, cook, run errands, or workout. Also, other people are also working or doing their own thing...it's harder to get together. The only thing that's "summer", that's planned is a vacation (w. the family) to hawaii...other than that, summer just seems to be a regular season w. nice weather. It's almost bitersweet.... We were planning on getting married in Nassau this winter. With the oil spill we are now trying to find another location. We are worried that we are going to get there and there will be oil all over the beach and we will not be able to dive and swim at all. We have been there the past few years and enjoy these activities as our Christmas presents to each other. We were considering Hawaii because of the variety of cheaper hotels, but nobody would be able to afford to fly that far in our families. We are on the eastern part of the U.S. and tickets to Hawaii are more than double what they are to Nassau. We really would like a destination wedding where people speak English at a resort that offers wedding packages. We liked the resort in the Bahamas because we had to do not planning at all. We plan on having a group of about 15-25 with us. We are unsure of the exact numbers, but we are running out of time to plan this. We do not want it to cost too much for our guests because nobody has a ton of money right now. Any suggestions for as far as locations go?
