Resolved Question: Poll - What comes to mind when I say "The Beach Boys"?
and PLEASE don't say surfer music! Me - Next to Lennon and McCartney, Brian Wilson was THE creative musical genius of that era and the album "Pet Sounds" is considered on a par with "Sgt Pepper" as far as innovative music was concerned at the time. Also, some of their best and most creative music took place in the mid 70's which included the "Surf's Up" and "Holland" albums, which sound very, very little like "surfer music."Adding extra fact - The Beach Boys made GREAT remakes - as in their remakes of Peggy Sue, Palisades Park, In The Still of the Night, Come Go With Me and ESPECIALLY their remake of California Dreaming. moreResolved Question: Where to go for a holiday?
Hi, My girlfriend and I are wanting to go away on holiday in September this year and would like some help on where to go. So this is what we want. We would like a self catering apartment with a supermarket near by as we do not drive but a short taxi ride would be ok. Also near a beach but not a must have. The countries we are looking at are France, Italy, Holland & Germany for 14 nights. If anybody could help it would be great or give us the names of towns/villages. We would like something to do tho, so near a big town or a busy coastal area but not a IBIZA scene. moreResolved Question: favorite songs from any beach boys album that you either own or have owned?

I'm taking my 07 Pontiac G6 there to get my tire fixed/possibly replaced tomorrow. Its the closest dealership to me. The local Pontiac dealership went out of business. My front passenger side tire is flat and there is a donut on it now. I don't know if this is a good place to take it or not. I DO need to get it fixed as soon as possible though. I know to ask to have them check the alignment just in case. (My husband was there when the tire was flat) Are there any other questions/concerns I should have? While spending as little as we can, we have around $1000 but are saving more. Me and my mother(ages 28 and 58) are looking to go on a nice relaxing cruise. I don't want the party ships our main interests are the swimming pools and good spas, good food, and the best beaches and snorkeling at the best islands in the Caribbean. This will probably be in the fall Sept-Oct. We do want at least a week if not a few days more. I do not want to go to Mexico, Jamaica, or the Cayman Islands. We are mostly interested in the Easter or Southern Caribbean. Also we are looking into either Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, Holland America, or Norwegian Cruise Line. What cruise line would be better and if you know of a good cruise that meets what we want let me know. moreResolved Question: how would you rank these Beach Boys albums?

I don't think I need your help to forget him, just wanna share this story of mine which my Christian friends will think is not moral... I met this guy in a night club by the beach. He was a Westerner, young, handsome and tall. He was only 21. I am an Asian girl, I am 19. Well we both were relatively drunk but still very conscious (at least I was!). I noticed him from afar while sitting on the beach and he walked to me and we had a brief conversation. Needless to say, I was knocked out by his looks (and I am not in anyway a perverted girl!). 5 minutes later we danced and 5 minutes later we kissed!!!! There were 3 French kisses, 1 normal kiss and 1 brief kiss (too many kisses!). They were my first kisses... I didn't feel anything at all (wasn't in love with him). Anyway that was the end of the night as something happened right after that. It was a good memory and I didn't think I would ever remember him. Guess what? I saw him again the next day! Oh I forgot to say we were both tourists in that city. He didn't see me, I just hid my face. You probably think I am "that kind of girl", but actually I am not. That was the third time I went to club in my entire life, and only because I was upset with my mum. It happened really fast. I didn't know why I did what I did. I don't regret it and to be honest I would rather have that memory than not... But now I am just kind of daydreaming a lot (it has been 1 month)... He was a Dutch... I am going to Holland for university and I just have this vision (inspired by hope, I think) that I will see him again... Of course it's extremely unlikely. I have no sadness or regret over this, but just wanna share with you. Sometimes in life things can happen so unexpectedly they leave you memories you don't know how to deal with...Well don't ask me to search for him online because that's what I don't wanna do... I don't wanna know things about him that I would rather not know... You know, girls are more emotionally attached than guys, I guess he has moved on with other girls in different clubs, while I came back being a Goody Two Shoe hahaWell don't ask me to search for him online because that's what I don't wanna do... 4 me it was a little of both, commercially it was good, now artistically it was a big step backward.the reason why:at the time "endless summer was released, the beach boys were on the verge of breaking free of the "surfer"image they created over a decade earlier, their previous album "holland" was one of rolling stone's top 5 albums of 1973 and it also got the beach boys a lot of airplay on underground and alternative radio stations.when "endless summer" came out whatever forward artistic progress the beach boys made from 1966-1973 kind of went out the window because all everybody wanted from the beach boys was the old stuff, hence why a lot of the new material that came out after "holland" pretty much tanked, with the exception of 1976's "15 big ones"and the only reason that did as well as it did was because it rode on the residual popularity of "endless summer". moreResolved Question: whats the name of a good beach resort in the Netherlands?
I want to go to a nice somewhat quiet place on the beach in Holland. I don't know where to go. moreVoting Question: Where should I buy a vacation home?
My spouse and I have been discussing this for a while. We both make good money and we've saved wisely, so we can afford a decent home, and since we both love Michigan, we've been focusing mainly on the Holland/Saugatuck area. Do you think we'd be better of near Holland or closer to Saugatuck? Saugatuck seems like a more charming area while being a short distance from two great beaches (Douglas and Oval), while Holland is also a short distance away from less spectacular beaches but has more to offer in terms of shops et-cetera. moreResolved Question: American National, born in Brazil, living in Holland...I love the U.S.A.?
This is not a question. I just want to shout to the whole world how much I love the U.S. I was born in Brazil. I lived in the U.S for 11 years. Now I live in the Netherlands with my Dutch partner and our daughter, but my favourite countries are Brazil and the U.S. Especially the U.S. It was not always "flowers" living in the U.S. , but life is hard no matter where you go... The fact is that living in the U.S is much better than in Holland. There is prejudice, racism and racial profilling everywhere in the world, but it was much easier living in the U.S. I went through all that there as well, but in Holland it is way too hard to be a foreigner. People are always mentioning your skin collor, "she is dark", and they find it normal to mention it all the time that people are dark. There is a very visible line between the Dutch (white, with Dutch names) and foreigners(those with dark skin, also those born in Holland with non-Dutch names). There is a real apartide happening here. People just don't mix. There are all types of programs on T.V about how immigrants don't want to integrate in the Dutch culture, learn the language, etc... All programs about foreigners have a very negative way of portraying foreigners....It is hard to find a job if you have a foreign name. Dutch is a very difficult language, but even if you speak the language, with a thick accent (majority of foreigners have a thick Dutch accent), you have a hard time fiding a job. This is not like the U.S. When I lived in the U.S, I noticed that Americans talked a lot about foreigners who didn't try to learn English, but it was still easy for a foreigner to find a job there; all they had to do was prove that they could do the job. I worked a department store with an Iranian woman who spoke very bad English, but she was one of the nicest and best sales persons at the store (in Palm Beach Gardens, FL). ....I just hope to be able to live in the U.S one day... I also wish that there was no prejudice in the world, no racial profiling... It really hurts. moreResolved Question: Going to Colombia have any tips, advice or recommendations?

Chek Keng is a traditional settlement consisting of five different lineage groups living together, and it was probably founded more than 200 years ago. Regarding the history of lineages in this Hakka village, there were five different lineages with surnames Fan, Chiu, Lee, Wong and Cheng living in the village; however, most of the descendants of these lineages are living in UK, Holland and Hong Kong city now. This is situated in a quiet bay, three sides are surrounded by mountains, therefore the sea breeze is a lot calmer, scenery is breathtaking. Due to the terrain being flat, there used to be farmers cultivating on the terrace for a living. But now ... where the washes are less aggressive, we can find beaches; where the washes are gentle in the bay, we can find swamps; whereas the red mangrove are situated where they best grow at the mouth of the river where swamp is. Chek Keng has 7 of all 8 true mangrove species occurring in Hong Kong. And you can also find fiddler crabs, mollusks and other mudskipper.I WOULD THANK YOU so much if u could give me some advice...Many thanks moreResolved Question: Who Do You Think Is Smarter?

I'm planning to fly from the middle east to the caribbean to hang out with my Dad (he'll be flying from central US). Less travel time is a big plus, and I'm a fan of Holland, so the Dutch West Indies via Amsterdam on KLM is probably my route of choice. So, where should I take my Dad? We'll want to do some lounging on the beach and at the pool-bar in the hotel. Maybe some scuba diving, definitely some snorkeling. If there's a casino, we might stop in for a minute, but neither of us gamble. Right now, I'm leaning towards Aruba... what do you think? It may not have been clear, but I'm not in the US, and would prefer to fly as direct as possible (probably through AMS) from BAH or DMM. moreResolved Question: things to do in grand rapids?!!?

I'm wondering this because I'm a caricature artist (like you see at theme parks) and am interested in making a little extra cash this summer by doing caricatures near the beaches and on the boardwalk. I'm independent; I don't work for a company. Are there laws or regulations that would prohibit this? Would I be asked to leave, mainly, but also are there certain areas that it is allowed (like in front of a store with permission from the owner,) or conditions I would have to follow? Or, who would I have to contact to figure out the answer? Any information would be appreciated a LOT! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Any Love For 'The Beach Boys'?

Theres five times (Friday Evening, Saturday Lunch, Saturday Evening, Sunday Lunch, Sunday Evening), five countries (England, Germany, Holland, Scotland, and Sweden), five bands (Dixie Four, Dixieland Serenaders, New Orleans Joymakers, Not so Hot Five, and the Red Hot Stompers), and five venues (Beach Hotel, Civic Hall, Theatre, White Lion, and Winter Gardens). I'm going to all these concerts, and I need to find out which band from which country played at which time at which venue. The clues given are: 1. I'll listen to the Dixie Four from Holland as the same day I'll be at the Civic Hotel. 2. The sunday lunch time concert will take place at the White Lion. 3. I'll hear the New Orleans Joymakers at the next concert I have tickets for after the one at the Beach Hotel, which itself is not the next one I'll attend after hearing the band from Sweden. 4. The Red Hot Stompers, which is not the German band, will be playing at the Winter Gardens. 5. The English band will perform at my Saturday lunchtime concert. 6. The Dixieland Serenaders will be the last concert I attend. 7. The Not so Hot Five will play at one of the lunchtime concerts. 8. The Scottish band will be on stage at the Theatre. Thanks in advance to anyone who offers help. This is an extra credit sheet, not homework. I desperately need the EC, though, and have tried to figure this out for hours. moreResolved Question: Read this dating profile! Is this woman serious?!?
This has got to be one of the most outrageous dating profiles I've ever read. What do you think? She says she enjoys "doing things to keep my man happy" but the most enjoyable adult activity she doesn't want. "I am very truthful and honest. I am very upfront about my feeling. I do not want to date guys who live out of the state, who like country music, and who are taller than 5'8 inches tall. I will not date any guys older than 43 or younger than 38. If a guy was to date me he has to be able to stay without sex for two or more years. I am a little open with everything not the sex part. If you are looking for sex only go some where else you will not find it here. I enjoy traveling, going to the movies, photography is my hobby. I enjoy entertaining my friends. My favorite cars are the Mercedes, and BMW's. I enjoy walks along the beach and candlelight dinners. I enjoy doing things for my man to keep him happy. I am a very loving, caring, gentle and giving person. I would like to date a guy with a PhD because I am attracted to any intelligent guys and guys who are gentle, loving, caring, and logical. This is my plan for Spring Breaks & Summers from now til the end of High School. I'm going to 9th grade next year. Money really isn't a problem since my dad is making his own company and its really successful and hes really smart. I'm saying where I'm traveling, so going to parties, hanging out with friends and family around where I live is a given so I don't include that. What would you like to do, if you could do anything? And do you know any other cool places to visit? This summer, I already went to Japan. I want to visit Texas, go down the shore where I live, visit New York City, and go to atleast 2 theme parks. Next Spring Break (Freshman in High School) I wanna go to Hawaii with my family and 1-3 of my best friends' families. Next summer, I want to go on another People to People ambassador trip to England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland OR England, France, and Italy. Right after, do another People to People ambassador trip for a big volleyball championship in Holland, possibly with my club team if we can join. Also, go to Disneyworld, Las Vegas, visiting family in America, go down the shore sometimes, and some other theme parks. Next Next Spring Break (Sophomore) I wanna go to the Bahamas with family & once again, 1-3 of my best friends' families. Next Next Summer, I want to go on my last People to People ambassador trip to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Then go to Disneyland in Florida (maybe with some friends again too), go down the shore sometimes, visit family in America, and visit my family in Cameroon & sightsee in Morocco and Egypt (with my family ofcourse). Next Next Next Spring Break (Junior) I want to visit England again to see family, go shopping, and even see some of my fav British bands play there. With the family ofcourse. I dont think I'd go with friends for that one. Next Next Next summer, I want to go some place in South America, perhaps Chile or Brazil. Then visit France, England, and some other neighboring countries. Back in America, I'll go to theme parks again with friends, visit family in America, and go down the shore. Next Next Next Next Spring Break (SENIOR!) I'll want to finish going to the 7 continents by going to a bizzare place like Antarctica with my best friends. I mean how many people can say they went to Antarctica for spring break? I know it would be Autumn there though, since I'm in the Northern Hemisphere. If we can't do that, I can always go to Antarctica when I'm older.. like maybe married with kids or something. Then, we can go to someplace more local like Alaska. Next Next Next Next Summer, I'll be visiting family again in Cameroon, England, and in America, then hang out with my best friends in California & Hawaii. With my family, we'll visit India, and then come to England for the 2012 Olympics. After that, I'll hang out with my friends again like going to theme parks, the beach (family sometimes too), before finally heading off to college, and starting to live on my own (sounds scary!).I'm a dreamer but this seems pretty realistic. My family is pretty upper class, so yeah. I just wanna pick the best places to visit. moreResolved Question: This or That?

below the waist. Many said small was better...tha bigger was well..not as comfortable for men. Of course I am referring to a woman's purse or hand bag. What else? But, from the women i have seen in holland, france, italy...laying out..on their stomachs...god...so many women are full....mature...vertically long...and yet...beautiful. I disagree. I think mature, long and full is much more s.............ecretrial s.................ual then small. But then again, every one is subjective and many people like different sizes, shapes of purses. I guess those women who were laying out on the beaches, with nothing to hide take pride in the purses they carry with them, down below their waist. What does anyone think? We also need someone who will come to Lake Michigan as we are having a beach wedding and renting a hall on the beach near Holland, MI. Our ideal wedding officiant would be someone who answered an ad in the back of Rolling Stones Magazine (anyone remember Northern Exposure?) . The font on these shirts is usually impact or something similiar. I've seen these types of shirts mainly with party sayings or with beach names, but I can't find them anywhere!
