Open Question: What would you do in this situation, neighbors keep asking for food the day after payday?

My neighbors are stupid with money, they get their check, blow it on crap and expect other people to bail them out when it comes to groceries, diapers and everything else that does not have to do with fast food, videogames and other assorted crap for them, for fun. Their daughter is 7 months old. No, they do not get diapers or anything, as it will come from "elsewhere" ie their social workers, neighbors ect. For them, charity is not a last resort in an emergency, it is expected and depended on every single month. I get that they are young and "poor", but if they were careful with their money, they would have enough, I know how much they get, it is more than I get and I have more rent, higher bills, ect. No matter how much they get, they will blow it and not have anything left They come to me three days after check day needing food for the baby, expecting to "borrow" money. to them "borrow" means give. I finally said, no no money, I will take you to the grocery store myself because I have seen what you buy and half of it is chips and pop and pizza pops. I got them enough for the month and taught them how to shop and how to ration food and not to eat all the "good stuff" in one day, basically how to budget groceries. Despite this, a month worth of yogurt was gone in one day, they were using 3 pounds of beef just for the two of them for one meal instead of the needed one pound ect. We made a deal to pay back half on the 19th and half on the first. At first they said, ok, sure, thats great. Last minute, she tries to lower the payments and was being vary vague about it, like I will have to pay you off slowly as I have "other things"(ie not the phone bill) and "I need some money" Excuse me, last time I checked, you dont spend $50 on pizza and get cabs everywhere when you are in debt for actual food and the phone bill. But now, as soon as the check landed in that mail box, they were gone, and have not been back for several hours, so they will have no money when they get back and will have some lame excuse about "other things" But they will have a bag of new video games and candy. To me, if you owe money and will get in trouble and possibly have your kid taken away because of it(no phone, no food, ect), I would not have any "fun money" or think I "deserved at least Something" You dont deserve anything for sitting around on your behind, and they do. Their daughter is in the play saucer 90% of the time and the parents dont even know how to play with her. They wont even take her outside unless they have money or an appointment, which is only 2 or 3 days a month, because "there is no point taking a walk with no money" The last time I checked, walking was free. You can walk to the beach, the woods, a park, you dont have to walk directly from home into a store, into another, and home again. They keep going out of town to visit friends, but this is always on payday and after they get their check, so guess what? no money left when they get back, no food in the house and a disconnect notice for the phone. The first time they did this they "admitted they were stupid" and needed more money now because they had spent it. This has happened 3 times more in two months. I had to buy them a highchair because when they got money fro ma charity to buy one because the childrens authority wanted them to get one, guess what? They blew that too. Money earmarked specifically for their daughter gets blown as well. And she is pregnant again. One time I found a nice double stroller for $50 and I knew she had the money for it, she said, yes, I will get it, but after I get back from town, guess what, yep, blew it. Now she fully expects a double stroller just to appear out of nowhere or someone to buy her a new one when the time comes. They let their phone get cut off and moved to another company. Now they owe the new company $500. They got their tax returns knowing they needed to pay back rent, $500 phone bill, food ect, yep, blew it. Gst checks, same thing(a canada thing kind of like a sales tax rebate check for those who are not canadian. Its always the attitude of, its ok, I have more money later, so I can blow this, even if the later money is already earmarked for bills, then they dig themselves a hole. They fully expect someone, anyone to bail them out because they are "poor". You can be poor without acting poor. I have seen their finances, they have enough and with some play money too, but the budget goes out the minute the check is there. I am sorry, but I needed to vent, these people are seriously starting to p**s me off because they are going to be in even bigger trouble soon, as no one has any further sympathy for an 19 year old with two kids less than a year and a half apart. She is expecting double the freebies when the other kid comes, but wont believe that instead, they gravy train stops when that kid arrives. I am really angry that I have now lost the money for the groceries as I needed that forI am not all that angry about the money, although I am miffed about it, I frankly expected it from them, I am more angry that there were certain conditions on me lending them that money, such as making a budget, and that they smile and nod and seem to listen when I try to teach them something , and then go blow money anyway. I am most angry that they would treat their daughters money as their own, I saw a check that was specifically marked high chair, and they blew it. I am angry for their daughter and angry that their are using emergency charities that they would not need if they were not so ignorant, other people need that, they do not, they are taking away from those who truly need it and generally being a drain on society. They already get all of those benefits and make the rounds at all the charities every month. They actually budget on it, like we get $50 from x place and $40 for y place, like its part of their budget and not only for emergencies.And I forgot to mention that they wont eat most of the stuff from the foodbanks because it is not frozen foods or chicken or chefboyardee or pizza pops.To the person that says have them get a second job, they have no first job. She is trying to get on disability for basically pretending to be too stupid to read and they both say, I cant work, I have kids. It is sad that they get more on assistance than I do working more

Only got one reply for this question but...oh well, here goes... just some characters from an upcoming Avatar story no big deal.But could use some feedback: Tess Henderson- Mostly runs errands such as getting coffee for example. Tess is a typical red head and part time journalist from Chicago.She's rather even tempered and surprisingly gets along with Parker Selfridge. When she's not on the job, Tess writes short stories and reads 'Digital photography for dummies' Often times Tess starts up a conversation when things get quiet; which has worked a few times. Interests: flowers, kittens, B.L.T. sandwiches, playing scrabble and doing crossword puzzles. Actress of choice- Cassidy Freeman(Tess Mercer-Smallville season 8-9) Gen- Found wandering outside the fence, Gen's parents were taken in and shipped to earth. Some time later Gen was born at a wildlife reserve outside of Tokyo. Having spent most of his life around humans he's rather friendly towards them. Gen's name is actually 'Gin' which is Japanese for silver but due to a typo on his I.D. tag his name is spelled with an 'E' in the middle instead of an 'I'. Gen's stripes are also more silver/gray than dark blue, his hair is diluted black; he also has bi-color eyes. His left eye is blue and his right one is yellow; he also speaks both Japanese and English. Though he might look scary he's been described as being an 'overgrown house cat'. Interests: Running, shrimp, watching the sunset, dragonflies and doing word search. Actor of choice-Jackie Chan Mara- Unlike Gen's parents Mara's are 'domestic'(i.e. like dogs, cats,etc...). Born at a kennel in White plains, NY, Mara has been around humans since she was only a few minutes old. Although she's been mistreated by some of her handlers. As a result she is afraid of people and will either run with her tail between her legs or growl. Mara is mostly on the quiet side but once she's gotten to know certain people she will speak up and enjoys being rubbed behind her ears. Though Mara has black hair and yellow eyes one thing makes her stand out is she has spots like a leopard instead of stripes. Her ears also flop instead of standing up.Mara also has a tendency to chase her tail. Though she is rather jumpy at times she's somewhat even tempered and quiet for the most part. Interests: Watching the sunrise, crickets, steak and playing checkers. Actress of choice-Sabrina Labeauf (The Cosby show) Rita Makaba(Pronounced 'Ma-kay-ba')- Like Mara, Rita's parents are domestic; born and raised in Southern California. Although they interacted with humans on a daily basis, Rita and her parents weren't allowed to go ut in public. When she got older Rita took a course in para legal. Rita's eyes are green and her hair is black as well as her ears. She and Mara also have paw print shaped brand marks on their upper left arms(basically they were branded). When excited or happy she wags her tail(like a dog). Rita is easygoing but has her moments where she 'tells it like it is' she also likes dogs. Interests: Dogs, watching TV, walking on the beach and chocolate(tried it once). Actress of choice- Tichina Arnold(Everybody hates Chris) Richer- A red and white blue eyed siberian husky owned by Norm Spellman. Richer is a show dog from Sna Francisco but hasn't been to a dog show in a while. He's a friendly, outgoing and playful young dog but once in a while trips over himself or gets his collar caught on something like a hook for example. Although he is a husky he prefers sitting on the couch over pulling a sled. Interests: Fetch, watching TV, milk-bones and listening to Ray Charles albums. Voiced by: Cedric the Entertainer(he's done several movies including Maurice the lemur in Madagascar) That's just a few but could use some feedback, another character that's up for consideration is listed below: Kona(At first it was a nickname but then it stuck after a while), she mostly goes by Kona since almost anybody she meets claims her real name is 'a mouthful to pronounce'. Kona is also the dominant female/leader of the eastern sea clan(the one in the pink dashiki in the scene where the group is introduced). Though Kona is pretty laid back she does manage to keep a straight face when she needs to. She's friends with Awakey(aka the horse clan leader). Kona has also taken a liking to Raggae singers such as Bob Marley, Sean Paul and Shaggy as well as Patti Labelle, due to listening to Norm's Ipod(more than once).Parker Selfridge and a few others sometimes call her 'Pink panther' mostly as a joke. Interests: Hiking, walking on the beach, sleeping, chocolate(got a hold of a hersey bar) and dogs. Actress of choice- Dawnn Lewis(A different world) Still don't know about adding Kona to the storyline but she's not the only character being considered. But could use some feedback on the ones here. I just want to know if this is a manufactures flaw. I bought one of these makers, and liked the design of just putting the cup under it and pushing to get coffee. But it started to leak from the bottom about 3 months later.I just threw it out and bought another one because I really liked it. That one also began to leak about 5 months later. So I bought another model/brand maker. This past x-mas my Mother n Law bought me one as a gift. And guess what the bottom is leaking. People tend to think that Hong Kong is a small busy town that has buried itself in work. People are often familiar with the theme parks and the local market places, as they have read about them in travel guides. However, these guides usually only write about the market places and the famous tourist spots and ignore some of the most beautiful places in Hong Kong. Tai Long Wan is located due east of the Sai Kung country park. You can get there by taking the MTR to Ma On Shan station and following the pathway to Sai Sha Road which will lead you to the Tai Mong Tsai Road. The whole hike is going to take around five hours. It may seem to be a long time but you will not regret it once you did it. There is an alternate route that is by sea. All you need to do is to get yourself to Port Shelter by MTR or you can take the taxi and hire a boat to take you there. The whole trip is merely around a quarter of the time of the hike, which is 1.2 hours. It is recommended that you be in the boat at 4:30 pm so you can watch the sunset. You will be amazed by the difference between Tai Long Wan to the city centre. How the cement forest from the city has changed into a real forest. Everything is natural with no sign of human activity or pollution. As you open you eyes from your nap on the boat, you will be struck by the hot blazing sun that is hanging halfway up the sky. The salty and fishy smell of seawater will hit you a few moments later. When your eyes are adjusted to the sunlight, you will be able to see clearly all the way to the horizon, where the water blends in with the sky. As you look down into the water, you will notice how clear the water is and you may be able to faintly make out the features of the seabed. The fishes in that area often welcome tourists by swimming around their boat. They fear no one and act as it they are the master, the king of this area. Wriggling through the water, their shining bodies cut through the water and reflect sunlight at the same time. You will think how marvelous these creatures are. Right in front you now should be Tai Long Wan. Over the beach are three mountains. All of them are similarly huge and their shapes are almost identical, which makes them look like twin brothers. Green vegetation covers the mountains completely, like a mini version of a tropical jungle. At the same time, the three tall grassy mountains look like they are the peacekeepers of the area, keeping everything in harmony. Due to the fact that the shore is too shallow for the boat to park, you will need to row a small life boat that will be provided by the owner of the boat. As the boat is lowering its anchor, the fishes below the anchor will act as if they know that it will go down. They will go out of the anchor’s way and form a barrier around it at the same time, surrounding it. You will notice that one of them will soon start to swim between the chains, then the rest of them will follow, burying the anchor under their slimy bodies. As you lower the lifeboat with a splash, make sure that you have a paddle with you or else you will have a very hard time getting to the beach. A lot of people underestimate the distance between the shore and the boat, causing them to be exhausted when they arrive at the beach and let me tell you now that I bet you will make the same mistake too. Because of the huge waves, you will need to paddle as hard as you can to move forward slowly. As you reach the shore, the beach there will be a totally different image form what you saw on the boat. The beach is spectacular; the sand, which constantly embraces the rough sea as it licks the beach, making it moist all the time, is so fine that you can almost melt into it. This place here is also great for sunbathing. Allowing the sun’s ray to touch every part of your body, you are guaranteed to be nicely tanned by the end of the day. You might also catch sight of some crows flying freely in the never-ending sky. Viewing them in front of the sun, you will think twice next time before you use them to describe something bad. With them flying elegantly, you will not believe how creatures can portray such a beautiful image upon themselves. Having dinner in this environment will probably be one of the most unforgettable experiences for you. With such little distance from nature and you, you will certainly enjoy the food. Even a plain old ham and cheese sandwich will turn itself into a delicious masterpiece of food. I'm only 13, so I'm not an experienced writer. I haven't spellchecked it or anything, so I'm sure my grammar is atrocious. This is just the beginning of the story, so it doesn't have much of a plot yet, and I'm not really sure where I'm going with it. It's long...you don't have to read it all if you don't want to. The sun beat down, hot and suffocating and altogether too much for November. But that's the way it always was in these parts. Year round, the weather was warm and dry, and it was impossible to tell one day from the next. There was a city about twenty miles away, a tourist trap, with shopping malls and movie theaters and office buildings and air conditioning. Most of the people who lived here worked in the city, and they all took the only bus that ever dared come out this way. Sometimes a lone visitor, from up north, Ohio maybe, would somehow find his way over here. But upon seeing how desolate and lackluster this part of the country was, he would quickly go back to the city with its loud noise and entertainment, leaving the natives to themselves. Luke didn't mind it around here. He could never understand his classmates, when they talked about growing up and leaving, going somewhere where there were more opportunities and chances to take. They were tired of this place, of the shabby houses and low population and the constant smell of salt. But Luke never imagined himself being anywhere but here. He'd always been somewhat of a loner around them anyway. There were so few of them that they all grouped together. And he'd been left out somewhere along the line. They were a complete puzzle, and no matter what he did, no matter hoe hard he tried, there wasn't room for him in their tightly-knit circle. There was no particular reason why, that he could think of. But that's the way things had always been, and it would be stupid of him to try to mess with something like that. So Luke just did his own thing, going to the beach every day and trying to evade his mother's yelling at him to put on sunscreen. "I tell you, boy, you're just melanoma waiting to happen." "Whatever, Ma. I'll be fine." "Don't 'whatever' me. Now put this on." She'd grab the bottle, shake it a few times, and squirt some of it onto her palm. The white of the lotion was a stark contrast to her suntanned hands. Luke rolled his eyes good-naturedly, but stood still while she rubbed it on his shoulders. He always excused her for being what he considered overprotective, figuring that since his father left her when she told him she was pregnant with Luke, and since he was her only child, that she had a right to treat him like a baby. He was all she had, and she was going to hold onto him as long as she could. She shoved the bottle into his hands. "Now you take this with you, and don't forget to put it on when you get out of the water." They both knew he wouldn't, be he said, "Sure, Ma," and left. It was a short walk up to the beach from the house, and Luke walked barefoot, loving the feel of the sand between his toes. He loved the beach, with the gulls that sat on the rocks and the shells that washed up on the shore. When he wasn't in school, he spent most of his time there, so much that he had a year-round tan and his hair had been lightened so much from the sun that it was almost white. This gave him an odd appearance, and at times he wondered if maybe that was why he was excluded. But then he would just shrug, and go back to the beach. He was usually alone there, unless some of the girls from school happened to come around, wearing brand new bikinis from one of the malls in the city. And even then they'd just look along the wide expanse of sea, sand, sun, and sky, and upon seeing no boys worth pursuing, they would leave. So Luke would swim and build sandcastles all day, and collect shells in a brown bag. He always dumped them out before returning home. He used to bring them back to his mother, but she'd ended that by telling him that she saw enough shells in the course of a normal day, since they lived right by the ocean, and so she did not need to be brought more. Once the sky started turning orange, and smears of violet appeared along the horizon like a watercolor painting, Luke would head back home. Every day his mother would complain about how dirty he was, and every day she'd make him stand outside and hose himself off before she allowed him in the house. While he took a shower, she'd cook macaroni and cheese or ramen noodles or something similar, and they would eat. Later, when night fell and the sun faded away to the other side of the world, it got colder. That was when Luke liked to lie outside on the grass in his backyard, hands clasped behind his head. He liked to look out at the stars, which at times seemed so close he cLooks like it exceeded the character limit. So it's not all there.I don't really care if people steal it...I just wrote this because I was bored. Well, my name's Maddie. I've never made a blog where I'm actually talking about myself, so here we go. I love my hair, I really do, I personally think it’s the coolest thing. Whoever thought of neon colored hair dye is utterly brilliant. I lost my hair virginity at age 13. Ok so this is a really long and confusing story but il try to keep it short lol. I would like some advice. Im 22 years old, my current bf is 23 and my ex is also 23. It's long, but bear with me :( About 2 years ago, I met a man over World of Warcraft (Go ahead start ripping on me lol). I did not think much of it, but soon it turned into more than just chatting and playing together every now and then. We talked daily. and had a huge connection. Only problem was - he lives in Florida, I live in Canada. About a year later, a friend wanted me to go with her to Florida to visit her grandparents, so we looked at it as a short opportunity to meet up. He drove almost 4 hours to meet me, and the moment he got out of his car my heart skipped a beat. We had such an amazing time together, he took me everywhere, we did the whole romantic beach thing. Well it turns out near the end of my stay with my friend, me and her got into a fight and were not speaking. Again, he drove 4 hours to come get me to bring me back to his place so he could buy me a plane ticket home about a week later. We decided we wanted to start "dating".Things seemed great. I went to visit him again a few months later and it was bliss. We even spoke of marriage for me to move down there. Everything seemed fine until we got into a couple stupid fights, which progressed into more, then one night I decided to end it because it was too stressful with us fighting all the time. I slowly started talking less and less to him for the next 5 months, even though he tried to contact me daily. I just recently started talking to him again about 3 months ago, only by this time...I was in a relationship already. I know, too fast. My current boyfriend iv been with for 6 months, and I moved an hour away from my hometown to make it work to be in his city. He is a very loving guy, fun to be with, hilarious, we get along great. I love his family and they love me. Since iv been here, it's been nothing but a downward spiral - Iv been unemployed for 5 months because getting a job out here is like digging up gold. Thus it has ruined my credit, and got my cellphone disconnected. Heres where the trouble starts - he has a very good job and makes alot of money. Since he still lives at home, lets just say he has no finnancial woe's at the moment. Big screen tv, motorcycle, car. You get the point. I have been struggling beyond belief and had to go on finnancial assistance to live. He has lent me alot of money to help me...but he is very selfish. I have no problems with the idea of loaning money to your bf/gf whatever and expect to be payed back but he does it for almost everything. I needed cookware - he wants the $30 back for that, I needed medication for my fish - he wants the money back for that, We went out for dinner with a large group of his friends - he bought me some fries (this was a day after my bday...got no bday present) as I watched all the other men buy their gf's drinks and food galore. When joking asked him for a bday shot - he claims he's not made of money. This x-mas, I used my financial assistance money to get him a small gift. What did I get? nothing. After I even mentioned that even a card would be wonderful. The way I look at it, I gave up my family, my friends, my job, my credit is SHOT, my cellphone is gone...I owe over $1,000 on my cellphone alone. So him being selfish like this really, really bothers me. Aside from that, I caught him texting his ex to meet up with her while she was in town not too long ago after he promised me before I moved he wouldnt talk to her anymore. Now because of getting myself into debt up to my eyeballs and I got evicted from my room im renting because he slept over one night I am pretty much forced to move back to my old city to live with a friend. He is very upset over the idea. He works ALL the time so we would never have time to see eachother. Im sorry this is a novel, but im almost done!. My ex from Florida..since iv been feeling so down about eveything, yet again those old feelings are creeping back in a big way. Aside from the pointless fights we had near the end he treated me like a princess. He told me he loved me everyday, anything I wanted to do we went and did. My current bf always calls me sexy...he calls me beautiful and tells me he adores me. He tells me im his everything, and he would give anything to be with me again. He does not know im still with my current bf, and he wants to pay for a plane ticket down there to go see him and relax for a week. Since im pretty much being forced to move back to my old town im so unsure of what to do it's retarded. I have a hard time making decisions due to me being bipolar so everything I do - especially when it comes to big choices like this - feels like a mistake. Excuse spelling mistakes. :D Move. Dodge. Duck. Swerve. Weave. My school felt like a jungle. I moved through the crowded halls trying to make my way to my locker. Jocks body slammed, populars giggled and flipped their hair, nerds waited to be attacked, teachers waited for the day to end. Me? I waited for my life to end. My world came crashing down a few weeks before when we moved from my wonderful home in Hawaii, to a little town in New Hampshire. I had friends and family in Hawaii. My hoa and ohana. But my parents took it away from me. So, I was stuck in thst town. No palm trees, no beaches, it was cold because it was fall. I hated it there. And I hated it even more as I passed the populars, on my way to my locker, and they started laughing and whispering even more. I blushed in embarrassment and picked up the pace. I finally reached my locker and opened it. Setting my books inside I scanned the door. Pictures of me and my friends, Kai and Halua. I smiled. We hall signed the back of the picture. Malia, Kai, Holua. I sighed, remembering the day we did it. Other then the picture, I had stickers, other pictures and a mirror on my door. I looked in the mirror. My tan skin and dark hair didn't exactly blend in with the other kids. I mean, some of the kids had tans, and some had dark hair, but not like me. I wasn't just a white girl with a tan. I was a Hawaiian girl. There wasn't really anyone like me in the school. And no one had a name like mine. Malia Koli Onakapu. Everyone else was Emily Jonston and Jacob White and Hannah Smith. No one had a name like me. I slipped my books into my locker and closed it again. No one could remember my name, either. It was Malika or Halia or Alina. I mean, what's so hard about Malia? It's only three syllables! Ma-Li-A. That's it. I understand not remember Onakapu. But Malia? I turned and started down the hall, ready to make my journey home. "Later, Kalika." I heard. I rolled my eyes, not bothering to correct the person. I had a death grip on the straps of my backpack. I don't know why. My nuckles were turning white, though. I held my breath as I came up on the last few feet to the door. Pushing it open I felt a rush of cool air strike my face. I looked around curiously. I think it was snowing. I had never seen snow before. I walked outside and watched as the little dots hit the ground, speckling it with white. I held out my hand, waiting for it to accumulate there, but it didn't. "It wont build up on your bare hand." I heard. I turned to see a young girl standing there. She had short brown hair and was wearing guy clothes. "It's partially frozen ice. It'll melt on you hand. Body heat." I lowered my hand. "Right." I said. "I've never seen snow before. Other then on TV." She took a few steps closer to me with a curious look. "Where are you from?" she asked. "Hawaii." She smiled. She started walking, so I followed. "That's cool." she said. "I vacationed there once. It's a really nice island." I nodded, looking around the small town. "It really is."
