If there's one thing I learned this past week, it is that the WORST part of love seems like a bottomless pit of tears that never ends. I'm crying and I cannot stop. Last Sunday, for my 3-year anniversary with my girlfriend, I wanted to surprise her. I drove up to her house in my motorcycle, with an extra helmet (customized with her name on the back of it). I was going to take her to our usual anniversary spot (Neptunes Net in Malibu) to watch the sunset while having dinner. And afterwards, walk with her down to the beach, where I had a surprise waiting for her. There's a spot by the rocks that's somewhat secluded. Under the sand I buried a box. Inside a ring. I was going to ask her to marry me. I was so nervous. So excited. My mind racing faster than the 110 mph I was gunning on the 5 freeway. When I got to her apartment, I started walking up to her door. I couldn't calm myself down. And as I tried to knock on her door, I noticed that it was open. I pushed it slowly and ... I saw her holding hands in her kitchen with my best friend. My best friend of 15 years. They didn't see me. I walked backwards. I felt numb. I fell down and sat on the curb next to my bike. I redlined my bike on the freeway back to my house. I hit 160 mph. I didn't care. I still don't care anymore. I'm hurt beyond human comprehension. I can NOT stop crying. No person deserves to feel what I feel right now. I just want it all to stop. I need help. more

My wife and I are going to Six Flags Magic Mountain this year (probably June or July) for our anniversary and wanted to know a good hotel within a 30-45 minute drive of there. Any recommendations? We would like to stay in the $100-$150 per night range, so no big $$ places. We will mostly be going to the park and probably going to some beaches, possibly Malibu, Santa Monica or something like that. We have stayed at several places in Anaheim and we have been to Disneyland three times in the last 5 years, but I am not as familiar with the northern LA area. more

My relationship has been the best ever! Okay, first off...I am strongly (now) Positive that, True Love comes unexpectedly! This is why; Long Story Short, I met this awesome, cute and charming young guy through the internet, Myspace to be exact. I saw him under one of my best friends top friends...He seemed interesting, I click on his profile, and message him "Hi, I'm Jaymee, are you gay?" he responded "check my profile and you will know" I do, and yes! lol it clearly said he was gay, I then start to get a bit more interested, but ignore it; as all my previous relationships somehow fell apart. Any who, (fast forward) we keep talking and become good online best friends (Yet, we haven't met in person still) I then ask "Where are you from?" he answered "Bak, CA" I was then like "OMG! HAHA I do too!" so at this point we know we don't live far from each other. Any who, we then start to talk about meeting...we do at a restaurant, eat dinner we watched Saw VI which is also the day we met, (day movie premiered) 10/23/09 :D in the middle of the movie he starts to touch my hand, then moves to grabbing it a lot. *I get shy* but I dont' tell him :P or let him know...night passed by and well to be honest, we didn't expect anything out of meeting, well except (best friends hanging out) nothing else, no date no anything...but anyways that night WEIRDLY I end up asking him out, as a boyfriend, he says Yes. Later do I find out that, he ended up living only about 2 blocks away from me! this is when we were like DAMN!! AWESOME WERE' TECHNICALLY NEIGHBORS heeheh that was of such, benefit :P hehe any who...we run away about 2 weeks after we became bf's and well now it's been 2 months since wev'e been together and we've been crashing along the beaches of california, currently we're in Malibu, CA haha! so if any of you are around this area let me know! so we can hang out!!!! :D more

so we were in Santa Monica recently (from New Zealand) and thought we'd jump on a bus to Malibu, seemd to take ages so we jumped off at the Malibu Pier, nothing there so crossed the road and went home.. i keep seeing these amazing beaches on tv etc at Malibu.. did we jump off the bus too soon?? were there shops along the beach etc??just a bit curious as it seemed like we;d been on the bus waaay too long and we thought that was it. The only time we really want to stop is at any cool places on the way. Ed. 11 = 91 Health 11 = 102 English 11 = 86 Environmental Science (lab) = 89 Global Studies = 102 Algebra II = 93 Crafts = 98 (art class required for graduation) Journalism II = 98 Junior Year Overall Percentage = 95 Junior Overall GPA = 3.8 High School Class Rank = 165/328 (this was at the end of sophomore year, I think it's a lot higher now.) The classes I’ve taken and are going to take are as followed… (These are only my main classes that are each one credit. Journalism is an elective, but I’m planning on majoring in it. Resolved Question: I want upgrade my car a bit (interior), a 2009 Malibu LTZ, where can I do this?

Can I take it to the actual GM dealer where I bought it or do I have to take it somewhere else? My father bought me a 2009 Chevy Malibu for my 16th birthday. Its a really sharp looking car. Its gold with chrome doorhandles/ window trim. The inside has a dual color (brown/light brown) interior, like on the seats. Anyway, I find it kind of shabby that other mid sized sedans in the price range, being the fully loaded models have real wooden trim and navigation systems/ DVD players on the head rests. I want to switch out the cheap (fake) thin strip of wooden trim for actual wooden trim... like on the doors, around the radio/air conditioning settings and around the gear stick. How much would this cost? I want to upgrade my entertainment system, like screens in the head seats and a touch screen navigation system. I like road tripping to our beach home in Georgia with my friends, but I opted out of taking my car after the first time and went with my dad's SUV because of this. I don't understand why the Impala (only a few thousand dollars more than mine) has wooden interior and mine doesn't. I chose the Malibu over the Impala because I think it looks much better. It's really sharp on the outside and everything. I just don't get why I have to deal with crappy plastic trim. The steering wheel and gear stick are made of leather, but they're surrounded by crappy plastic. Anyway, thanks for any help :) more

Resolved Question: Bar menu for my wedding?..?

My wedding is in July 2010 at a pavillion that my fiance and I have rented, on the beach. The only things supplied are the place its self are the chairs and tables. There is also a kitchen area with a stove/oven/refridgerator/freezer.. We are hiring a caterer, a DJ, and probably a bar tender. I was thinking of having a few drink choices rather than providing a full scale bar becuase I deff cant afford that. I was thinking of making up a cute "Bar Menu" to place near the bar on some hot pink paper (my wedding color)... so that people know what their choices are For example: BAR MENU: Margarita Cosmopolotan Malibu Bay Breeze Screwdriver Vodka and Club Soda Vodka and Cranberry Also listed would be the types of soda, beer, and wine that we have What do you think? Voting Question: Living outside LA but commuting in`?

I am relocating to SoCal. My job will require me to commute into the BelAir, Long Beach, Catalina, Malibu, and other surrounding areas. I am looking for a safe area for my kids as I am a single mother. I realize that my children will have to share a room somewhere as I can not afford anymore than like 1200.00 per month during my first 90 days living there. I want something with respectable schools and somewhere I would be able to park my car and have little fear of it getting stolen or vandalized. It is only a lowly ford focus. I am not opposed to an hour commute, as that is what I do now. I am not opposed to living somewhere between LA and Victorville area as my job may transfer me to VV at some point in the future. Thanks!I do realize the distances between the areas. I said somewhere between VV and LA becasue at some point in the FUTURE I may get transferred there. If that be the case I would relocate to somewhwere closer to VV but would not be able to do so immediately becasue I would have to ride out my lease. I know my money issue is not great. Worst case scenario would be rent a 1 bdrm for 6 months and just couch surf and let my kids have the room until I get my 90 day pay increase.My current position is odd and I would have to visit each of those areas, just not on a daily or even weekly basis. I need to be able to travel to each of them on different days and my hours are also flexible. more

I just went there twice in my life. In 1967 and 1972. Both times I absolutely loved it. Places like Venice Beach, Hollywood, Malibu and so forth. People just seemed to have such a cool spirit there and the sun was always shining. Everybody seemed to have cool jobs and the crime rate didn't seem high. I'm quite lucky as I'm only 14 and I've been too: France - Paris - 20+ times, all Disney (So i guess that wasn't seeing much of the country, but i've driven through it on the way to other countries. Belgium Germany - Trier, Bernkastel, Kues, Traben, Trabach, and most of the towns and villages round that area. Spain Gibraltar Tenerife - Swam with dolphins UK (Live here in England) Wales Scotland Ireland California - LA, Las Vegas, Malibu, San Francisco, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone Park, other places in California Been to Florida twice and done everything twice including swimming with dolphins - Orlando - actually visited round Orlando (International Drive, Sea World, Discovery Cove, Universal Studios, Kennedy Space Centre, Busch Gardens, other places in that area) Plus Disney World, and my mum did the marathon there which was amazing! India - mums friend took us out in a private helicopter everyday, private beach and beach house, went to really nice temples and relaxed...a lot! Thats where i've been so where have you been, and if you want you can say your age and your favourite holiday.I want to train as a vet in London or CA, then definitely live in CA, maybe Malibu or LA, hehe.Gosh i'm 14! I can't get everything right! more

Resolved Question: what does this dream about being lost mean?

i dreamed i was in malibu walking around looking for this location and i was near the beach and thought it was beautiful but i realized i needed to find the location/place. so someone says to me, look over there - that is where you need to be. you're so close (technically) but you need to find the right route to actually get there (like they are mountains and things in the way). this seems like a highly symbolic dream but i'm not sure what it means. any thoughts please? more

This is so true. I was very moved by this. If you have any comments or thoughts feel free to leave them. This isn't really a question. I just read this and agreed with it completely and would like to share it with the world. :) The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary. My confession : I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees,Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are: Christmas trees. It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu If people want a crche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?' In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK. Then Dr. Benjamin Spocksaid we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK. Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
