im getting my license in september and have a $10,000 limit prefer no new cars(unles under the limit) looking for style, fuel economy (over 20 mpg highway), no trucks or SUV, safety(must have abs), speed isnt important (but please no cars with under 150HP), comfort is an absolute must looking for roomy front and rear seats(parents might drive therefore I may have to sit in the back) i plan on keeping car through most if not all of college( during that time i know i will make at least 5 1000 mile trips NJ-FL and at least one trip from both daytona beach to panama city beach and northern jersey to pittsburgh) all help is appreciatedforgot to mention cheap insurance please and i am a pretty decent driver ;) more

Open Question: Any activities near SI, NY for dogs during the winter?

My bf and I love taking our 10 month old maltese/poodle outside to parks and walks on the beach to interact with other dogs. But he HATES the cold. So during the winter months all we can do is take him to petsmart to walk around. Are there any activities (other then walking around a store) that we can do during the cold months? Are there any indoor dog runs or daycare type places lol? I live in Staten Island, NY but I'm willing to travel to Bklyn or Northern NJ. Anyone know of anything? more

i'm a 22 year old, single female and moving out of home. i grew up and still live in sydney. i am a very mellow and relaxed person looking to get away from the big city life. i am looking to move somewhere along queensland coast. ive lived close to the sea all my life and would ideally be looking for a 15 minute WALK to the beach maximum, and a coastal town with little tourist population. love hot temperatures so wouldn't be reluctant to move to northern queensland regions. not to fussed on the kind of accommodation, just somewhere with one bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom, just the basics to get me by really. i am a real estate agent. will continue this however always keen to start fresh. i am also a qualified surf school instructor. fairly easy person to please. any suggestions on the best place to live in queensland to suit my life style? any suggestions?i was also considering, sunshine coast however wouldnt have any clue which towns to begin with? more

I would like to come to Australia for a couple of months, probably beginning in April, and base myself somewhere where I could ride my road bike (preferably hard, in a group), do some writing, and perhaps find some people to play country music with. Good beaches, low (relatively) cost of housing, access to airport, and interesting environment are important. Ability to pick up some off-the-books side work a plus, but not required. Have been to Oz before including all the above locations and am leaning toward Townsville area, but would consider other places such, as Cairns or northern New South Wales coast. Florida resident. I know some of you still want to say that one day is not "climate", which is true, but misses the point. I have my heart set on a beach wedding. I am from Kentucky so any beach will work as long as its not too far (NC, SC or northern FL). The problem is, is my brother is in a wheelchair and its very important to me that he is comfortable. I am thinking a deck, concrete area with beach veiw, or a peir of some sort. My wife and I are going to Six Flags Magic Mountain this year (probably June or July) for our anniversary and wanted to know a good hotel within a 30-45 minute drive of there. Any recommendations? We would like to stay in the $100-$150 per night range, so no big $$ places. We will mostly be going to the park and probably going to some beaches, possibly Malibu, Santa Monica or something like that. We have stayed at several places in Anaheim and we have been to Disneyland three times in the last 5 years, but I am not as familiar with the northern LA area. more

im 20 and moved out to northern california about a year ago. i actually have an awesome job as a lifeguard on beach patrol and make really good money. problem is i blow almost all this money on skydiving, snowboarding, and smoking. i am completely addicted to all of three of these. i dont have a home. i just travel from friends house to freinds house or sleep in my car, beach, etc, whatever. i was born in ohio and lived there up until college when i went to Coastal Carolina University. i dropped out mid year and moved to california with a buddy. i enrolled in a community college there and eventually dropped out again (my current gpa is 3.2). i have no money, no home, no nothing. at first it was awesome now im tired of it. me and my dad odnt talk to each other and my mom is dead. i just feel so lost in life help? more

i just began renting a villa 1/2 mile from the ocean in south florida (northern palm beach county) for $1625. it is also for sale with a 60 day move out clause. it's been listed for a few months at $347K. The owner purchased in 2005 for $425K. i like it and would like to buy but can't afford to. i own 2 properties with tenants that are worth less than i owe because of the market. i have no down payment. if i had a down payment and could get the price down, i could then afford it. people are starting to look at the property and it's priced to sell (i think). 3/2 1692 sq ft, pool. i'd like to approach the owner with some kind of rent to own offer. i'd like to keep renting for a couple years while i save the down payment. i'm thinking he can save money by selling directly to me and not paying a realtor commission. i want to make the offer right the first time so it is a win win for both of us. any advice/suggestion? more

Resolved Question: How do we decide on a wedding location?

I'm not engaged yet, but my boyfriend and I have been together for just over three years now and have been talking about marriage on and off, and during these conversations, we always debate on location. I don't mean like beach, church, etc. location. I mean location as in what state? We both live in Myrtle Beach, SC. The majority of his mother's side is here in Myrtle Beach, but all of his father's side is in Pennsylvania. My mother's side is here in the south as well, but my father's side is in Michigan. Common sense would suggest having it here, but most of our northern relatives would not make the trip unless we had it closer. We're not sure whether we should have it here, up north, or somewhere in the middle. more

I am not making any of this up. I need help! Please read the whole thing! HELP! Okay. It all started when me and three friends and our parents went camping at the Michigan Chain Lakes park this summer. It was really hot and humid. We were staying there for a week. On the 4th night it was after dark and we were sleeping in the tent. It was so hot that I couldn't sleep. I kicked out of my sleeping bag and walked away from our campsite, heading towards the beach. I know i wasn't dreaming because the trail to the beach goes through the woods and I was getting bit by mosquitoes and stepping on rocks. When I got to the beach, I saw him. There was a tiny fire built close to the tree line, and around it were four freshly-cut logs. Sitting on one log was a man. He had perfect golden hair that was past his shoulders, his face was handsome, and he was above all sexy. But that wasn't what stopped me. Growing out of the small of his back here nine golden fox tails. I saw the tails and almost pissed myself. I turned to run, but he said (in a voice that was oh-so-seductive) "Why are you leaving so soon? Come sit by my fire, MJ." I didn't want to move but my legs walked over to him on their own and sat me down on a log. I looked at his face and suddenly it felt like I had met him before. I knew his face, and it scared me. His eyes were a light brown or amber. He said, "Why do you fear me?" I said, "I don't know who you are, it feels like we've met, and you have tails." He laughed and I blushed and told him not to laugh. I asked him his name and he said, "I have many names. Kitsune is the one I go by the most, though. Some call me Youko, some call me Dennis, and some call me Kyuubi." I said no, that Kyuubi was from the show naruto and that I was dreaming and he said that Kyuubi was the original name for the Nine-Tailed demon worshipped in northern Japan. I told him I wanted to leave and he said no. I sat quietly for about 30 seconds and then I said, "are you going to kill me?" He laughed again and motioned with his hand for me to come to him. Once again my legs moved on their own and I knelt right in front of him. Then, he took my afce in his ahnds and kissed me. I don't remember how long it was, but I do remember feeling like I've kissed him before, and feeling like I never wanted him to let go. After we were done he knelt behind me, his chest against my back, and at first I thought he was going to rape me. But then he reached beneath my arms and took my hands, and his tails curled around us. I started to get really scared. Then, he hummed, and my whole body started tingling. This went on for about 5 minutes. Then he said something that sounded like GRRROWLEEHISS!! And everything went black. When I woke up a DNR officer was shining a light in my eyes and asked me how I got here. My throat burned so I could barely speak. I tried to tell her about the man but she said, "Have you done any drugs? Were there others out here?" I told her no and said that I was just a sleep walker and probably wandered from my tent last night, but she still took me to the main office and made me take a urine test. I didn't tell anyone about Kitsune. But every night after that I dreamt of him. He was either saving me, seducing me, or just walking towards me. I would wake up crying most of the time. Then, about two days ago, I was just getting home and I saw him standing int eh front yard in the snow. He motioned for me to come to him and instead of walking I ran and jumped into his arms. Uncuntrolably I kissed him for god knows how long. When we were done making out I asked if we was going to leave me again. He said, "I must go, but I promise you will see me before long." He did the weird growl-hiss thing and everything went black again. When I woke up my mom had carried me inside and asked me if I had passed out in the cold. I said yes but didn't answer any more questions. Later that day I walked out there and saw the print where my body had been in the snow. And, right in front of it, were footprints that lead to a rock in the backyard. WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN??? I keep dreaming of him and I want to see him again, but first, who is Kitsune and should I trust him? I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!! PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!! more

I want to take my g/f somewhere romantic for her birthday. Ideally it would be by the beach somewhere and I am really looking for a place with a jacuzzi tub or a large bath/shower combo. I'm considering picking up flowers from the markets the day before, mainly because I want a really unstructured look and florists charge a bundle for bridal bouquets. I live in Towyn in North Wales and I heard that Northern parts of Britain are on flood alert, and I'm starting to get worried. There was a flood in Towyn a few years ago in 1990, before we moved into our house 4-5 years ago. There is a line in our hallway around the wall and that shows where the water came up to - it goes halfway between my knee and waist. As we are in danger of flooding where I live, what exactly are the council doing about it? Aren't they supposed to start handin out sandbags? The day my father proposed to my mother, it snowed. In Florida. Which is amazing because it hasn’t snowed here in my entire life and I don’t expect it ever will. Fort Lauderdale is one of the most southern parts of Florida, so although every few years there’s the occasional sleet in the northern parts of Florida, there’s never really snow, and very rarely do we even get light sleet here in Fort Lauderdale. It was unusually cold the day my father proposed, but nevertheless my parents were on the beach, lying on towels and drinking cocktails. When my dad popped the question, my mom said yes without hesitation. And then, as if by magic, snow began to fall. Not sleet either, but real snow. My parents looked at each other and laughed, marveling at the beauty and rarity of the snow on a Fort Lauderdale beach. My father joked that it might be a bad omen, but my mother only laughed and gave him a kiss. “I’ll take that chance.” I'm a 14 yr old writer who hopes to publish this someday! Good so far and how can it be improved? more

Hey! So, I am turning 13 next Sunday and I REALLY want to have a slumber part with about 3-5 of my really good friends! We live in Northern Oregon and it's in November so no beach or pool things like that. We have a low budget. We live in a small, but cozy, house My friends and I are a bunch of mixed personalities. Like, I'm hot topic-ish, some are girly-ish, some are sporty, and some just not really anything specific. I want it to be a LOT of fun but not too girly or child-ish. I was thinking we could watch some scary movies but I don't know which ones. But we are for sure going to watch The Hills Have Eyes. Our entire downstairs is wood floor and we have a small upstairs and I don't want to disturb my dad at night (well, not TOO much) so any ideas on how to make downstairs a bit more cozy? I see so many northern girls where I go to school and I've noticed that they all are the same. You can point them out in a heartbeat.... -They all dress very "trashy" wearing low cut shirts & short shorts etc.. They all have bleached blond hair and fake orange tans. I am planning a vacation to the island ...........Looks like a great place ! I will be landing in San Juan and want to get my rental car there, drive to the ferry and cross to the island. I have been told that it is very difficult to get on the cargo ferry...Any truth to this ? I can always get my rental car there, but by doing so will in cure 2 taxi fares at about $80 each. Just doesn't make much sense economically. Also any advice from people that have vacationed there. How much drive time from the northern side to the southern ? Best way to do the luminescent bay ?
