Robe S A Beaches Questions asked

Resolved Question: Where can I get a sexy beach robe? ( like the one in my avatar?)?

it was a present from my friend but I don't know where she got it from, she's overseas and I can't contact her for a while more

Resolved Question: Read some of the first chapter of the story I wrote? Please? Kind of short?

Hello their! I'm 13 and just thought I'd get some criticism on my story. I like to know if it's good or bad. If it's bad then what can I do to improve? I'd like a couple honest opinions on it please? When you try to imagine what an angel looks like, you probably, and most commonly imagine us as beautiful spiritual creatures. You may think we have soft, pale skin, golden, sparkling halo’s above our heads, and that we dress in white, flowing robes twenty-four hours. Well, sorry to rain on your imagination, but you wouldn’t think of me. The small girl with mousy brown hair , trying to escape the rain by huddling under an oak tree. As that spiritual creature you imagined a moment ago. An angel but not just a average angel: a guardian angel. Shouldn’t I be up in heaven? Well yes, and also no. I could be up in heaven but of course I’m the one that started all of this. I chose myself to be Elisabeth Hope’s guardian angel, and now I‘m down here on earth to find her. I have to warn Elisabeth before it’s too late, of who she really is. I, Abigail Doe the last angel you’d think of am actually going to accomplish this quest. Of course, so far I can tell you this quest wasn’t as “easy” as I’d originally imagined it to be. Imagine trying to find a needle in a haystack, now multiply that times twenty. That’s how “hard” it is. The only information I’d gotten about Elisabeth is that she’s a thirteen year old prophet, and that she lives here in California, Monterey near the beach. It was drizzling a bit, and I was standing under the closest refuge I could find. A tall oak tree, to escape the rain. All around me, men with black brief cases, and women with star bucks coffee in their hands. Walked in their own separate directions. I seemed to be so out of place here, for the first time ever I actually felt… alone. more

Resolved Question: What do these dreams mean? They are seriously creeping me out!?

I've been having these strange dreams for a year now, and they are seriously creeping me out. Well, it's almost the same thing every time. I'm walking down a long hallway to single door, dressed in a white nightgown (I don't have one) and barefoot. It's like i'm walking against my will; i can't stop as i open the door and step into the room. The room is bare, but strange. The cealing is high, and the floors are made of dark wood. The walls are white. And standing in the center of this room is this man. He's dressed in these robes that look Japanese styled, black and red. He has a long mane of black hair, and pale skin, but i can never remember his eyes, save that they scare the hell out of me. And then he tells me things. Things that will happen AND THEY DO! I'm not bullshiting anyone, i swear to god. In July of 2007, the night of my 13th birthday, he gave me a gift in a velvet box and made me open it. Inside was a thick gold chain, a necklace. I closed the box and thanked him, but he grabbed hold of me and forced it on. It burned my skin, and seemed to sink into the flesh of my neck until all that left was a raw red mark. i was screaming in pain, and he held me close. i will never forget his next words. "Poor child. This is not real pain. You will feel the true meaning of agony soon. There is worse to come. You will know true loss and what it is really like to be alone." On October 24th, 2007, my beloved Grandfather, who was very, very close to me, died of a heart attack after falling in the house while we were out to dinner. His prediction had come true. I have had so many dreams since then. He told me when my sister would move out and leave me last summer. Last month he told me that my father was dying, and a week after that, after coming back from a bad beach trip, my mother told me and my sisters that our father was dying of cancer and would not live long. So who is this man? What do these dreams mean? So many things that he has said have come true. I'm seriously scared. My grandfather was not ill. Second sight runs in my family. I have strong Cherokee and Irish blood. I see things and am a bit Psychic. more

Resolved Question: What do you think of my writing?

I wrote this short story a while ago in a creative writing course, and I would like to hear people's honest opinion on it. So please, tell me what you think about it. It's titled "Why commit matrimony when you can commit murder?" Robed in a gown of the purest, white, her dark hair framed her solemn face like a veil. It fell down her back like a mourning widow's shawl, black and limp. In her tapered moon-pale hands she blindly clutched her bouquet of red roses and baby's breath. She was seated in a cushioned chair in the back of the chapel, hidden behind lacquered doors. Glossed over in a pale pink, her lips were set in a firm line as she stared towards the door. She would not cry on her wedding day; her soul was not pure enough for that. There was a commotion outside the doors: she could hear his arrogant voice announcing that tradition be damned, that he was going to see his bride. The words made her stomach clench with dizzying nausea. He stormed in, eyes matching his suit as he smiled lazily in her direction. His lips formed words as he asked her how she was feeling, if she was nervous to be wed to him. He laughed that charming laugh that never reached his eyes; a promise that he'd have a mistress that they'd both know about and never care about. Her lips responded, reminding him in her dull voice that it was bad luck to see the bride before the vows. He laughed again, telling her not to worry her pretty little head. Then he kissed her fiercely, not out of love, just to taste her lipgloss and muss her hair. He left after that, his casual smile thrown carelessly to her like the ones he gave her bridesmaids. When her maid of honor came to fetch her, her hair was messy and her lipstick was all but gone. Her dress was down the sides, like it had hastily been hiked around her hips for a quick tussle with the groom. It wasn't unexpected and it certainly wasn't the first time he had slept around. She didn't care, really. As she paced down the aisle, she caught the eye of the best man and watched him swel with bigotry. She had slept with him, sheerly out of boredom. He, however, thought that he was going to be her lover, the man she would someday run away with. Let him think. Men weren't the only ones with trysts and lovers. Standing beside her husband to be, she stared steadily into the priest's eyes as he told of their amazing love that united them and the bank accounts of the two most successful business tycoons in the country. Her groom placed the ring on her finer, admiring the money he spent to put the garish jewel on her hand. She slipped the ring onto his hand, white hands lingering as she judged how much stronger his hands seemed. Alcohol would easily fix that. The priest was praying, blessing their business joining matrimony like it wasn't an arranged marriage. She prayed silently for forgiveness, for a steady hand and a brave soul. She'd go to hell for it, but it would be appreciated all the same. He kissed her again at the priest's announcement, hard enough to make the maids giggle and the best man wolf-whistle. Their fathers beamed in the pews, imagining the expansions that could be made to their companies. Their mothers sobbed and sighed over the thoughts of the beautiful grandchildren she would bear them. Her new husband thought about the honeymoon, smirking as he remembered their previous trysts. She ignored them all, silently wishing herself good luck. Parading her down the aisle like a show dog, he laughed as he scooped her up and carried her out the doors. The reception went on flawlessly, people smiling as their wished them well. He grinned and thanked them, slipping his arms around her and trying to kiss her lovingly. They deserved an Oscar for that stunt. Hours later at a private beach home, the honeymoon came, filled with idle passion and his favorite whiskeys. He had told her, laughing from the alcohol, that champagne was for the poor saps who couldn't take it like a real man. Slipping out of her bathrobe, she suggested a midnight swim. He agreed wholeheartedly, staggering against her as he wildly toasted the married life, the committed to adultery life. She led him to the pool, carefully avoiding his bottle of whiskey. He took another swig before diving messily, splashing her with the cold water. She slipped in after him, barely making a ripple as she swam over to him. He held out his arms to her, to embrace her. She kissed his lips, leaving her lipgloss mark on him. Pushing him lightly, her lips twisted in a smile as he fell back. It took him a while to get back up; the alcohol was thicker than the water he swam in. Against she pushed him and again he fell. He struggled vainly, coughing and spluttering. One more time she shoved, and he struggled all the more slowly. Climbing out of the pool, she dunked him for a short while, waiting until he went limp. She released him then, more

Resolved Question: When did men's legs/quads become repulsive?

At what point did it become a turn-off for women to see Men's quads or upper thighs? Back in the 70s and 80s, it was common for good looking men to wear shorter shorts, or even speedos on the beach. Now, if your shorts aren't below your knees, you're laughed at. Even trying to find a robe that doesn't fall to the floor is difficult. I would think if a guy is in good shape, then it would be okay to wear - but it doesn't seem like society is accepting it anymore. I'm talking guys in shape - not the stereotype of the fat balding speedo guy. more

Resolved Question: I decided that I am going to have a Party :D?

I have made 4 friends at my new school. I know my birthday isn't until May but I want to pick what I should do for my birthday. Most of the children (friends included) come from low income family's can't afford a shopping party or can give me a gift BUT I am ok with that :D My friends are girls of all different ages. One is in 8th maybe 9th grade. 2 of them are in 6th. 2 others are in 10th grade. They are all my friends and we all get along well together. Their will be me and them at my party. Which makes 6 of us girls. I live in south Florida and I have a few options in my home town and towns around. Some of my options are Spa Day - at WoodHouse Day Spa ~ it is very near our school and my mom could pick us up from school and take us there (because most of the girls don't have rides) Beach Party - I'm not the most appealing thing in a bathing suite and the other girls are. But also what would we do at the beach? There is a place to eat cake but that would be GRRROOSSSS and why would we go to the beach after school on a Friday that is something you do on the weekend here. Ceramics - but the thing about ceramics is that we have to pay for everything ~ the ceramic thing the cake the pizza or food AND then what do I do after ward ? Have a sleepover at a hotel ? my house can't hold all of us Hotel Party - have all the girls bring clothes and a bathing suite and robe and slippers and have an amazing slumber party with junk food and a room decorated with favors. the last thing I could even think of is taking the girls to an amusement park like disney or epcot? Spend the weekend at a hotel like nickoloden resort or laki tiki? I just don't know what to do or where we should go ? If we spend 2 days in a resort we could get room service and go get our nails done but like I said thats all on me and my family (the money) So please help me I want to make invitations and order personalized party favors and have my cake designed special but everything is so much money Please HELP ME find a good median between all my ideas and problems more

Resolved Question: What does my reoccurring dream mean?

I have had the same dream for about two or three years now and dream dictionaries haven't been able to actually help me. It starts with me being in a really bright white room, four walls, a ceiling and a floor all in a gleaming white colour. There are six large windows {almost like Bay Windows but not as big} - one on each wall, one on the ceiling and one on the floor. I'm floating quite high in the air an equal distance between each window {maybe about two or three feet}. One of the wall windows shows a tundra and what seems to be the classroom I was in when I was in Year 4. Another of the four wall windows shows a tree-filled woodland area and the Library from the College I went to. The third of the four wall windows shows a desert and the huge library of my High School that I spent most of my time in. The last of the wall windows shows a Jungle and my favourite place to relax - a small beach in the Costa Tropicana Spain. The Ceiling Window shows a beautiful Panorama but it's odd and I am unable to actually describe it except with simple terms - strange shapes, odd trees, a purple sky and a white sun. The floor window also shows a beautiful panorama just as difficult to describe, save for the fact that it seems to be the opposite of the other - a pink sky and a dark red sun. Every time I get nearer than 1/2 a foot to one of the six windows they change positions and it starts to make me dizzy. I stay floating in the centre of the strange 'dance' trying to figure out which way to go when there is a flash of blue light and a woman appears; she has long silvery-blonde hair and bright green eyes and is wearing a white robe; I know she is important to me but I dont know who she is. She smiles as she looks at me and looks around, she looks at me again and tells me to follow my heart, that my 'Soul Song' will guide me, she tells me in an urgent tone to listen. I do as she says and there is a strange thrumming hum in the back of my mind, as I concentrate on it it gets louder it starts to sound like a strange music made of wind, waves, humming and a faint singing. I start to block everything except for the song that is now filling my entire being and feel my body begin to spin. I open my eyes and always seem to wake up just before I find out where I am supposed to go, I think that the woman may have either been my subconcious or my Guardian Angel. What could this dream mean? more

Resolved Question: Who Thinks This Dude Is A Pathological Liar?

My SO and I have been together for 4 years. He has this friend that he has been knowing before him and I even met. My SO and his friend are in their 40's. His friend is a likable fellow and easy to talk to but since I met him my radar(not gaydar) has been on the alert. He comes over to our apartment maybe 2 or 3 times a month. We always have a pleasant conversation for about 5 hours and then leaves. He is married with 3 children...he even brought one of the kids over one time. I asked my SO where does he live and he told me the city, which is on the beach in a nice area. My SO also told me he has big time money. Now, when he comes over to our apartment he ALWAYS has on a T-Shirt, cargo shorts and flip flops. Ok, that's not a big deal because here in Cali people with money dress all kinds of ways. Anyway, this friend has told us how he goes to Vegas and Paula and plays the slots and wins big. I'm talking about in the thousands of dollars. Ok, still no big deal. I asked my SO what does his house look like and he said he has never been to his house. I went...wait...this is someone you have known for a lot of years even before you met me and you have never been to his house. My SO said he didn't want people to come to his house because his wife was in the witness protection program. I was like....WHAT.....yet his wife has been at her job, so the friend says, for a lot of years, travels and makes a lot of money. I told my SO people in a witness program don't that. Here are some of the other things I have heard him say. 1. He got fired from his job last summer because of a run-in with his boss. I asked him why didn't he just start his own business(I mean since he has money) and he said he was thinking about it but he has to get some sort of license and hasn't applied for it yet. 2. He told us a few months ago he had applied for a job in the field working for the FBI. He has never mentioned if that went through or not. 3. He is going back East to look at some property because he wants to build a house there. When he came over tonight I asked him how was the house coming along. He said they have started digging up the ground to get the foundation ready. He never told my SO that he had left to go back East or when he got back here and my SO talks to him every week or so. OK 4. His wife's birthday was today and I asked him what he got her and he said a diamond necklace. He said his wife thought he had forgot about her birthday and he was going to surprise her at work by having UPS deliver the necklace. I said you bought your wife a diamond necklace and had it delivered by UPS. He said "oh it's safe she has to sign for it". I was stunned. 5. He told us when he was putting up the Xmas lights around his house his neighbor said "when you finish you can put up mine" and she opened her robe and had nothing on underneath. I told my SO tonight, I like your friend but he is a liar. My SO just kinda shrugged his shoulders and said "he lives in his own world"....I said...ya think. lol Now does anyone else think the same way as I do about him? He is such a nice fellow but I just find it hard to believe some of the things that come out of his mouth. more

Resolved Question: What to get my friends mom for Christmas?

I am 14 and my best friend is also 14. Her mom likes me :) and i like her too :) she has offered to pay for me so many, many times, and actually, she has refused to take money from me. (She has paid for Hershey park tickets, possibly Six Flags, and maybe taking me to Myrtle Beach this upcoming Summer. I believe that her mom is in her late 40's, early 50's. I am looking to spend 10$-20$... She owns "Trails End Ranch" which is horse trailers, and horse boarding, things like that. She is gritty, and not materialistic. (a hard person to buy for right?!) I thought about buying her a new Bath and Body Works bath robe, but will she really use it? My friend doesn't know, (I think she does, she just wants to see what I come up with.) Her mom recently got Breast cancer, went in for surgery, and now she has 3 months of chemo, so things to calm her nerves would be nice. I originally thought to buy her a gift card to Tractor Supply, or Red Robin, but she has to eat healthy now, and probably wont be doing much traveling. more

Resolved Question: Would you read this book?

Here is chapter eight of a book that I am working on. Note that I haven't gone through it for spelling mistakes and such. Tell me, would you read this book? Vampyre Child: Chapter Eight: I stood, dumbstruck, as the two strange figures in the large black thrones pointed their heads ominously in my direction. I took a good, long look at them. One of them was wearing a very plain-looking black robe, but the interesting thing was that he had a chain around his shoulders, ending in a large, onyx flail, which swung slowly back and forth on the side of the cloaked figure. He sat motionless, looking as if he was pondering something deeper than I could even understand. He, too, had his face covered with a cloak. The other figure was much different. He had a long, draping cloak which covered up his legs, and hung loosely on the floor. It was ripped at the edges, with bloodstains all over it. What really grabbed my attention was his long, jagged wings, which were half-folded, the ends just touching the floor. The edges, I noticed, were covered with jet-black thorns, like what you would find on a rose, only sharper. The figure held an ax to the floor, as if ready for attack at any moment. He also had a whip strapped into the chains of his robe. I couldn't see his face. Finally, the more extravagant-looking figure spoke. The odd thing about his speech was that the voice that I heard didn't seem to be coming from his direction, it seemed to be coming from all around me, like I was listening to him on headphones, only not exactly the same. His voice was so low that I couldn't imagine that it was possible to hear, but I could hear it. "Morr", He spoke, "My brother. What have you brought to me, especially with such urgency?" The figure slowly laid his ax against his throne, and folded his hands in his lap, waiting for Morr's answer. Morr twiddled his fingers, and said, "Minreh,I've found him." His voice turned into a whisper. "The One". Instantly, the figure named Minreh jumped up out of his throne, his ax loudly clanging to the floor from the vibrations. His hands clenched at his sides. "Morr, are you quite sure? Blakk never predicted another one coming. Just Lenore." Morr thought about this for a moment, and his expression turned grave. "Yes, I'm sure. My scythe just glided through his skin, and when he tried to grab it, his hands went right through it. I hate to say it, but Blakk was wrong. Another has come." I was too afraid to say anything as Morr and Minreh spoke in their strange language to each other. I glanced over towards the thrones, and saw a gruesome sight. The other cloaked figure with the flail now was swinging his weapon into his hand, as if whipping himself repeatedly. I couldn't tell if he felt pain, but I could see the blood oozing out of his palm as he almost playfully struck himself over and over again with the flail. I had a surprised, yet fascinated expression on my face, and couldn't shake it off, even when I took my eyes off of the figure and gazed at Minreh and Morr. It was hard to tell if they were arguing or just talking. They finally noticed my presence, and Minreh pointed a long, black finger at me. His voice changed from one, smooth and pleasant, to one, rugged and angry. "You", He growled, "Follow me". I didn't think that he was in the mood to answer questions, so I obliged. The long walk that I experienced was no trip to the beach. As Morr, Minreh, and the other cloaked figure led me down corridor after corridor, I contemplated what was going on. I was dead. I was abducted by Death himself. I was being led through some strange castle by three cloaked figures. Suddenly, I realized that there was no possibility that this could be a dream; it was just too real. As we walked down the hallways, I heard people screaming bloody murder off in the distance. It frightened me to death. How ironic, I thought. Eventually, we reached our destination. I guessed that we had strayed throughout the entire structure that we were in. We found ourselves in what looked like a medieval torture chamber, but with a twist. Many unidentifiable weapons were hung by chains on the wall. In the middle of the room, though, contained one of the strangest structures that I had ever seen. It was about four feet tall, and looked just big enough to fit an adult into. I stared down into what seemed to be the entrance of the structure, which was littered with broken cobwebs. It looked as if it was made with some sort of alien metal, and was crumpled in various places. As I looked into the entrance, I realized what was going to happen next. "Get in", Minreh growled. I nodded, too afraid to see what he would do to me if I refused. I gulped as I looked into the entrance. I slowly lowered myself to the ground. Minreh repeated himself, sounding angrier than ever. "Get IN!" He roared. I muttered, "I'm working on it." as I inched myself into the tiny structure. It was almost like a crawl space, more

Resolved Question: Who dislikes cops and why?

Well i hate a great deal of them because most of them are crooked a$$ cops, and i don't care who disagrees. But the good ones I'm glad for you and i wish there were more of you. And i do have reasons why 1. A lot of them are racist against Blacks and Hispanics, even some who are not white 2. They love to shoot and kill Blacks and Hispanics, especially Blacks and make it seem like they had a gun or something. Lying mother*****s. Just like that one kid on the news, Avery, who they shot 3 times and lied and said he had a gun, and pointed it at them, even though they had it on video. It was a freaking cell phone and they knew it. And i knew that boy. We weren't close, but we said hi and bye when we saw each other. ANd this happened on 7/5/09 i believe And this Hispanic boy named gene was shot by cops, several times. He actually did commit a crime though. He robbed a store he used to work at because the manager was mean and wouldn't give him his checks. He owed him money. SO someone called the cops and they shot him. They did way too much. He was just about to graduate less than two months after the incident. Plus he had a new born baby girl. And oh Lord how do I miss them. And there are so many more cases i could state right now but that would take up way more than i am allowed to write. 3. Then one time there was some crazy crack head who jumped our back gate and began banging on our door with a huge wrench. My bro called the cops and they were asking so many unnecessary questions on the phone, when we were in danger. They didn't even seem concerned. Then after like 15 minutes on the phone they asked did they really need to come over. We just looked and paused for a minute and said, well yes, that's why we called. If we were white i bet you they would have been there in a flash. Seriously. Deny it if you want. 4. Then a long time ago some cops busted into our house because they thought it was the house of some Black guy who was wanted i guess. So my parents were naked and they made them get up and one of the guys kept staring at her and smiling. They asked to put some clothes on at least or a robe but they wouldn't let them. And one punched my dad. Oh how he wanted to beat the sh!t out of him, but he couldn't cause of us. But if he did i would have completely understood. Then like 30 minutes later they finally admitted it was the wrong guy. And they acted like they didn't know it after the first 5 minutes. 5. Another thing is that when a group of Blacks are around they pull over and ask questions, like we did something wrong. They even checked us a few times. Even when I'm walking home with my friends from school they slow down or even stop. I flicked some off a few times too. 6. When we visit white neighborhoods to see friends or family, or to go to a beach or park, we've even gotten pulled over a couple of times. One said we didn't have our seat belts on in the back when he know we did. And how could he even tell if the seat belts weren't even the kind that go across the chest, but the other kind that go under your stomach or wherever, and we weren't even moving to make it look like we had no belts? He gave us a ticket. 7. A couple of days after Christmas my dad was arrested. The main attraction was that his Black self and a couple of his Black friends were in the car. And that means trouble, right? SO the cops pulled him over and searched his car. They found his workout jump rope. My dad works out a lot, so he carries it with him when he goes jogging or whatever. Anyways, They said that the jump rope was a weapon. He had to be in jail for three freaking long weeks. Even the judge laughed at the situation cause he knew it was s bunch of bull. But after three long weeks my mom bailed him out because we just wanted it to end. And you know what made it worse? The cop was Black. You know, one of them Black cops who want to be white. No offense and i'm not saying that Blacks should arrest other Blacks, but what i'm saying is that he was one of those Blacks who were on their side and looked down on other Black folks. He is a disgrace to our Black race and i wish i was there to cuss him out and if i wasn't old enough to really go to juvie i would have so slapped him. I mean that's way worse than the white cops who do it, though they could burn too. Well i have more stories but i don't have the time to write them nor the space. And i wrote enough. I'm not saying i hate all cops, just the crooked ones, which covers most of them.So if I'm in trouble i may not even bother, cause they probably won't come. Resolved Question: What do you think of the beginning of my story?

Just Dance starts playing on my phone. I slowly peel my face off my drool-covered pillow and check the clock. 10:30. Why would anyone call me at 10:30 on a Saturday? I throw my teddy at the phone, knocking it to the ground with a small clatter. Pulling a pillow tight over my head I try to fall back asleep as the ringing slowly fades to a stop. As soon as I let out a sigh, the ringing starts up again. I throw my duvet off and make a growling noise in the back of my throat. “Alright! I’m up!” I shout as I jump out of bed and grab the stupid device that woke me from my dreams of sunny beaches. I flip it open and read the name of one of my best friends, Jessica. Best friend my ass, I think as I hit ‘talk’. “What do you want?” I ask, not bothering to hide the annoyed tone in my voice. “Happy Birthday!” Two voices shriek in my ear. They’re both there. Kayla and Jessica, the two most important people in my life. I can’t stay mad at them, or annoyed, whichever you prefer, so I allow the smile to creep on my face. “Thanks guys.” “So? What do you want to do today?” “Oh, well, I hadn’t really planned anything…you sort of caught me sleeping, as usual.” I could practically hear her rolling her eyes on the other end, “Okay, well, Kayla and I are coming to pick you up in about…an hour. So, be ready, because we’ll take you half dressed if that’s the condition your in when we get there. Okay? Alright, love you! Bye!” I closed the phone quietly and tip-toed to my door. Slowly opening it, I poked my head out, praying a silent prayer that dad was out, even if the only ‘out’ for him was the bar. I couldn’t hear his loud snores, or any other noise in the house, so I grabbed my robe and sprinted to the blue bathroom down the hall. “Seventeen,” I whispered to the reflection in the mirror. I watch as the too-blue eyes stare back at me, like a stranger. I pull the rubber band out of my hair and let my chocolate brown hair fall down to the middle of my back, wincing as I remember how thick and crazy it gets. Touching my sharp cheekbones, I notice how much my porcelain skin stands out against the dark blue background, causing my full lips to press into a tight line. I shake my head and undress, slowly stepping into the boiling water spitting down from the shower head. Goosebumps rise on my arms and I make the shower a bit speedy, remembering my time is more limited than usual. After rinsing the last of the soap and shampoo from my body, I shut the water off and grab a towel, wrapping it tightly around my arms before the heat is able to completely escape my body. Darting to my room, I scramble around in the wooden drawers of my dresser grabbing clothes and throwing them on. Back in the bathroom, I rip a comb through my hair, wincing as I feel the rare strands being pulled from my scalp. I glance at the clock as I brush my teeth and see that I only have 20 minutes left, I spit, rinse, and grab the hair dryer. I spend my remaining time drying my hair and wince when I see the finished masterpiece that is my appearance. Hair in its naturally loose curls, black tank top and red shorts reaching my mid-thigh. It would have to do, because the doorbell was ringing impatiently. Grabbing my purse- which had a grand total of $50 in it- and slipping on a green pair of flip flops, I opened the door, excited the be with the girls. Jessica’s jaw dropped and Kayla’s eyebrows flew up as she let out a low whistle. I could feel my cheeks slightly turning pink. “What? Why are you guys doing that?!” Kayla giggled, “Calm down, Noelle. We just didn’t know you had such hot legs.” I punched her arm. “Shut up”Thanks guys! I'm only 14, and this is my first major story. ;D more

Resolved Question: Help.. what are these school learning games from back in the day?

Ok, back in the lost days of the mid to late nineties there were a few computer (learning) games that were floating around. All of a sudden I have a desire to play them. The unfortunate part is that, although I sustain a rather vivid image of the games themselves, I cannot remember the names. This could be a fun trip to yesteryear for some of us. So, without further stalling for time, here are some brief descriptions(I will try my best): 1. The first and possibly the coolest was a game in which you started as a little boy on a cruise ship your parents. You were all on vacation through the Bermuda Triangle when suddenly you hit some time warp or something crazy. Next thin you know, you're stranding on an island inside the body of a weird looking doll. (I recall a creepy image of a swirling circle inside the mouth of the doll and you fall into it) After that, the whole goal is to explore the island and figure out puzzles and collect parts to some magical machine. I think there's a witch who dod all this to you some where in there. I also remember a game with music records lying on the beach and you had to pick the correct one or something. There was a big pot in which you mixed your collected items too... 2. This is a rather brief one, but still awesome none the less... There were multiple levels in a shoe making factory where you had to manage the shoe making line with all kinds of widgets and gadgets and whatnot. I believe there were workers. 3. This one rocked... I was a game based on spelling... in the amazon. There was a super old and wise shawmen with a robe, was bald, held a staff and asked you to spell things. At the end of every level you were asked to spell a ton of words that you learned or you couldn't advance. This took place on, you guessed it, the Amazon river. You were on a crude wooden raft and whatnot. 4. The last one is going to be vague... It was a game that was based on pulleys and physics. You was to figure out the push and pull of things to lift objects. I believe there were goofy characters and not great graphics. This one (unlike the rest) may have been on a Macintosh floppy disk. Man I feel old. Anyway that's it. Some games that I actually do remember are... Snake, Oregon Trail, Oregon Trail III (2 went missing somewhere...) and that horrible Mac math game that everyone chose lat on computer game days.... Huzzah for getting old! Peace be with all. more

Voting Question: Title of an anime sci fi movie?

A long time ago I was staying at my friend's house and couldn't sleep, and I was flipping through his channels and saw an anime movie played on the Sci Fi Channel. I remember it intrigued me, but ten years later I can't remember what it was called for the life of me. I do remember a few specific scenes, though. The first scene I remember is a kid, probably 13, following two men in robes up a mountain in what looks like a desert area. He faints from the heat, and the two men are talking about what to do with him. One man says, "Isn't it mean to leave a kid behind like this?" But they end up leaving him anyway. Then he wakes up in a bed and panics, falling out of the bed. A girl with long white hair is by his side and starts laughing at him. As it turns out, the girl with the white hair is special in some way. She's either captured or believes that it's for the better she goes to these people, and she's waiting to be inspected by a queen that looks like an over-sized Shy Guy with gangrene, and a guard is pulling on her hair telling her the last girl that came around failed and the guard took the girl's hair, which was what would happen again. Somewhere in the middle of all this, the boy has a memory of being with his mother. They're eating dinner, and he asks her where his father is, and she starts to cry and he can't figure out why. I believe later on she's gunned down and he runs away. Next I remember, the white haired girl gets shoved in a pod while resisting the entire way, saying it's not how she wanted it to be and she changed her mind. The boy mentioned earlier comes and rescues her though. In the end, they're looking at a beach. I watched all of this probably somewhere between 96 and 99. Does anyone know what movie this is? more

Resolved Question: Read a part of my book, need input. Grammar needs work!?

After my shower throwing my robe on the vanity chair, shocked as I saw my stomach, It was huge, I knew I ate a lot but this wasn’t normal. Suddenly a scary thought entered my mind, hurrying to my calender counting the days I felt light headed, I was almost a week late. Going over my mom’s pregnancy with Tony, feeling a little relieved. She didn’t start to show till her fifth month, still feeling a bit worried I snuck into my moms room, searching till I found the book she read throughout her pregnancy. In my room I read through it, I was definitely showing all the signs of pregnancy, all but the timing of the symptoms. Sweat began to pour from my forehead, what’s going on with me. Later that day my mom called up to me, “Emily, Jake’s here,” excited I headed down to meet him. “Hey gorgeous you wanna take a walk?” “Sure, but don’t you only have thirty minutes?” “Nope not today,” as he gave me his beautiful smile. Throwing on some flip flops and we were out the door. As we walked through the woods I noticed he was acting like his old self again. Coming to a clearing surrounded by pine trees we stopped and sat down, both talking so quickly we kept interrupting each other. He laid down with his arms behind his neck, “What would you do if I took you away from here?” “I’d let you,” as I laughed, “ where would we go?” “ I was thinking somewhere with a beach, like Mexico.” Laying down next to him I grabbed his hand, “What would we do in Mexico?” He rolled on his side and laid his hand on my stomach, “I was thinking we could make love all night and let the waves roll over us.” “That sounds amazing when do we leave?” Reaching over to kiss me the fluttering started, looking at me strangely as he felt it on his hand, “What’s goin on in there,” he grinned? Lifting my shirt he kissed my stomach, as he did the movement became more intense. Backing off, “Emily what’s goin on?” Not being able to hold it in I began to cry, “Emily what’s wrong?” “Well I was really sick, cramps, throwing up, and sleeping all the time,” saying it all in a babbling tongue as I cried. “I’m almost a week late for my period,” he sat with his mouth open wide not saying a word. “Jake I know what your thinking, but it’s not possible, I read my moms pregnancy book and its to soon to feel these symptoms.” “But Emily your stomach is a lil swollen.” “I know,” I said through my tears, “but it just isn’t possible.” Jake sat there and thought to himself, if she only knew with him it was possible. “Lets go,” he said as he helped me up. “Go where?” “Were gonna find out for sure.” As we sat in his truck in my driveway all I could do was stare at the stick in my hand, Jake had taken me to a pharmacy outside of town. Stopping at a gas station as soon as I took the test it proved my worse fear was true, I was pregnant with Jake’s baby. “How did this happen?” His voice low, “well I think we both know how it happened.” “I know that,” I snapped back, “I mean how can I be having these symptoms already?” “I, I don’t know Emily,” (knowing he was lying). “We’ll just think this through and figure out how to tell our parents.” “Oh my god my parents their gonna kill me!” starting to cry again. “Calm down,” he said holding me close, “Em I love you.” “I love you too, but a baby oh god what am I gonna do?” “Emily I have to go, I don’t want to leave you but I have to my pa will be home soon.” “I know,” as I wiped the tears from my face. “Just go in and relax,” he helped me from the truck kissing my forehead as he held my face in his hands, “we’ll work this out I promise.” Sitting in his truck staring at his house, what have I done, how can I tell her that in about three months she’d give birth to his child. A child that would be like him, so many things were pounding into his brain, what would the elders do when they find out? Knowing she couldn’t be changed now until she had the child, his thoughts went to why she wasn’t included to join her parents at the meeting. Frustrated he began punching the steering wheel, suddenly memories flashed through his mind. He was eight andand it was a full moon, everyone was naked chanting, a girl screaming. Changing he was changing, screaming a girl screaming! Mr. Stanton running in his changed form, the Elders knocking him to the ground, ripping into his flesh, then silence. Shaking his head clear sweat pouring down his face, looking down his knuckles white from clenching the steering wheel. The Stanton’s, the picture, Emily, he couldn’t piece it together he was so young then. Climbing down from the truck chills ran up his spine. The Stanton’s, why would he have a vision of them, confused he headed for the barn to finish his work before his pa returned. more

Resolved Question: what does this dream mean. sorry its really long?

It was about midnight in the olden times. I was sleeping a my comfy bed sleeping like a rock until; I heard a-lot of screaming and yelling and the sound of boats coming ashore on the sandy beach. I woke up startled, not knowing where I was, I went to open my window and noticed that ghost ships had come up on to shore. These boats had a sort of, white outline and you could see through the boats very clearly. I could see the water behind the boats crash against the stern of the boat. I was standing there at my window in shock as ghost pirates sprinting off the ship, raiding house and burning down buildings. At that moment, I was unlucky to be living on the beach. I thought I was going to be the first one dead for sure. I grab a robe that I see hanging from a hook on the wall and open my bedroom door and run down a dark staircase. I was holding my hands out in front of me and I was being careful where I stepped because I couldn’t see a thing. An electric shock of fear ran through my body. I was shaking so bad I had trouble standing up right. My hands suddenly felt a door. I moved around my hands trying to find the doorknob. I opened to find my self in a small cottage with candles lit and a bearskin rug on the floor and the walls were made out of bricks with a small wooden rocking chair sitting in the corner of the room with a little end table with cookies and a jug of tea sitting beside it. I didn’t know where or when I was. I opened my front door and saw that I also live around a tow square where the streets and roads were very old fashioned. They were black, white, and sliver stones; all held together some sort of clay. The kind you see between bricks. I started to yell for any kind of civilization, but I didn’t hear, nor see anyone in sight. I ran to my neighbor’s house to see if anyone was there. I was yelling for them. I didn’t see or hear anything, so I went to my other neighbor’s house and still nothing. I started to really freak out. I just started to yell at the top of my lungs trying to see if anyone would hear me screaming and come for me, but nothing. I ran back to my house to see if there was a phone, but I don’t think they were even invented yet. I went upstairs in room and hid under the covers on my bed. Suddenly, the blanket went flying off and there is two men standing at the foot of my bed. They grabbed my hand and started to pull me downstairs without saying anything. I was too much in shock to even ask who they were. They took me outside and I saw a group of British soldiers with muskets marching towards my direction, but I knew they weren’t coming for me because I didn’t do anything wrong. I knew they were going to fight off the ghost pirates. They two men drag across the street into this one house that had this weird glow around it. One of the men turns his head to me and says that the glow around this house will protect us and that nothing can penetrate and we would be perfectly safe. I felt a-little better but I still had no clue what was going on. My heart was beating so fast I could feel it without putting my hand on it. I went to sit down in this room with other people scared out of their mind. I couldn’t blame them. This girl that I sat next to seemed like she knew what was going on, so I needed some answers so I start asking her; what’s is going on, who and how are those pirates here and why can I see through them. Right when she was going to answer a pirate comes crashing through the window in the corner of the wall that had wood logs stapled against it. The glow around the building that was supposed to be protecting us didn’t do a good job at all. Everyone looked like they were going to pee their pants. Suddenly I see a door that led to the pirate’s boats. So I called everyone who still had their head on straight to follow me to commandeer the one of the ships. So some people came with me as we boarded the ship. So they we were, sailing away to god only knows where. I guess you can say I was the captain of the ship since I was the one who told everyone to go on the ship and I lead everyone on board. So now people were just standing aboard the ship wondering what to do next. I just sat on the floor trying to gather up my thoughts. Suddenly the ship starts to lean to the right. It was changing direction, but it felt like the ship was going to tip over, and I was right. All of a sudden the boat is on the other side and i'm the only one standing on the bottom of the boat. Everyone else was underneath, in the water kicking the water to make it move. Like a motor boat would. So I was the only one above the water standing there in more shock. Next thing I know, the boat starts sinking. It’s weird because I wasn’t worried about that. I was worried what would be down there trying to get me. So boat is under water and somehow I am breathing. I don’t know how but I didn’t even think about my breathing. All of a sudden I was watching and controlling myself by a video game. I could see my han more

Resolved Question: Is this a good gift for my boyfriend's parents?

I have been with my boyfriend about a year and his entire family is wonderful to me. They have opened their arms to me by inviting me to everything, including me in "family pictures," taking us out to dinner, and have opened their beach house to our disposal. They also got me a nice birthday present and took me out to dinner. Now Christmas is around the corner, and I would like to get his parents something nice. A few months ago, I was telling his mom about these nice towels I have from Restoration Hardware. They are so nice- thick and warm. She seemed very interested. I was considering getting two bath towels that match their bathroom, rolling them up and tying ribbons around them, and putting them in a basket. My question, however: is this a good present? Or are bathroom towels too personal? I mean it's not like I'm getting them robes or something creepy like that. I wanted to be different but thoughtful. Any feedback is appreciated. Also, while I'm open to suggestions, I'm not going to get them wine. It would be too predictable for them and they gave that to me as one of my birthday presents. more

Resolved Question: should I explore the trails?

I found a couple brochures in my backyard, and they have a map of my neighborhood, and over the location of my house, was a taj mahal like building, and there was a path called tightlips trail, and it lead to some place marked by a roman temple. And on the brochure had maps of my friends houses. And there were maps madeup italian and indian places. but the path leads through some woods to i think a backyard. And one of the friends on the map was hit on by a mysterious Tightlips. He made some mafia indications. And some neighbors said they saw some Arab guy who spoke broken English, and wore a turban and hijab, and an arab robe made of colorful beach towels who setup signs saying Tightlips Trails in english, hindi, and italian. I think it may be some boy who lives not too far, who had a crush on me, and some of my indian friends. He ended up scaring me, and my mom called him. And he's Italian, and he does all kinds of bazaar stuff. more

Resolved Question: Where can I get a robe, or dress that's made of terry cloth, for use at the beach, like an absorbent sarong?

I've tried a sarong at the beach, but the thin cotton or polyester does not absorb anything, so I need a separate towel. Is there such thing as a beach robe or beach towel dress? more

Resolved Question: Too much or too little for the beach?

I'm leaving for the beach on Wednesday. We'll be gone for 10 days (day to drive there, 8 days there, a day driving home). Every year I go through the same thing, I worry that I'm not bringing enough, then when I get there, I've brought more than enough. But I worry that I may spill something or whatever and need that extra stuff. So, tell me, this is my list of how much I'm bringing. Is it enough, if not what else should I bring, if too much, what should I cut down on? 1 sun dress 6 nicer shirts 1 more casual shirt 4 camis 2 skirts 3 jean/other shorts 2 purses 12 underwear 5 bras 3 t-shirts 4 soffee shorts 3 pairs flip flops 1 pair heels 1 pair jammies 1 bath robe so that's all the clothes, plus... straightener, hair ties, gel, hair spray, etc. lotion, perfume, body spray, etc. jewelry make up shampoo, toothbrush, (hygene stuff), etc. So if you read through all that and can tell me if I'm forgetting anything or shouldn't bring something, thank you very much!Oh my gosh, I totally forgot! Add 3 bathing suits to that! The more dressy things will be for at night, like heels and stuff. We'll be going out to dinner and different places. I wouldn't be wearing my heels or make up on the beach, I would wear that stuff out at night. more

Resolved Question: Did you hear about the white dude walking along the beach?

He found a magic lamp. While rubbing off the sand, a genie appeared and told the guy to whisper his wish in his ear and then was told to go home and wait for his wish to be delivered. About ten o'clock that night came a knock on the door.He ran to the door, threw it open and there stood two KKK guys in their white robes and holding a rope. One of the KKK guy's spoke up "You the guy that wants to be hung like a N*****?" more

Resolved Question: Why is Pat Robertson so good at controlling hurricanes through prayer?

Wikipedia article on Pat Robertson Claims about the power of his prayers Robertson claims to have used the power of prayer to steer hurricanes away from his companies' Virginia Beach, Virginia, headquarters. He took credit for steering the course in 1985 of Hurricane Gloria, which caused millions of dollars of destruction in many states along the U.S. east coast. He made a similar claim about another destructive storm, Hurricane Felix, in 1995.[8] In 2003, Robertson called on God to prevent Hurricane Isabel from hitting Virginia Beach (which it eventually hit). In 2005, Robertson launched Operation Supreme Court Freedom, a televised nationwide 21-day prayer campaign asking people to pray for vacancies on the Supreme Court, where "black-robed tyrants have pushed a radical agenda." Robertson declared that "God heard those prayers"[9], after the announced resignation of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. more
