Resolved Question: Anyone go on a cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico?
I may be taking a cruise (carnival) that stops in San Juan and while I know it's beautiful and there's a lot to do I am wondering about excursions. The few listed on the carnival website aren't what I'm looking for. I don't really go to see the history of a town but rather for the beach and swimming. I'm going with a friend who doesn't swim well so no snorkeling but just a beach day. Have you ever been to San Juan? Is there a nice beach in walking distance from the port? I want to get the most of my trip but I don't know what to sign up for. Or should I wait until I get on board to see what other options are? moreVoting Question: Cruise question? When you go on a cruise, what do you do at the ports if you don't do an excursion?
My fiance and I are going on our first cruise in August with Royal Caribbean and we are stopping in San Juan, Labadee, and Phillipsburg. We don't want to spend too much money on excursions but the website makes it look like it's $50 just to sit on the beach!! If all we want to do one day is relax, swim in the ocean, and walk around, is that ok? We did book one excursion jet skiing and we might do snorkeling as well. Any suggestions on excursions that you liked?? Sorry, this is long I know. Any info you can give on cruising in general would be great! moreResolved Question: Are you nothing more than a "stimulus slave" for Obama?

I am visiting Puerto Rico for a short weekend. I live in the states. Can anyone tell me if there are any important cultural differences I should know about? Like in dress or manners or anything? This may seem like a silly Q, but I want to make sure I do not offend anyone while I am there. Any fun tips for visiting Puerto Rico would also be much appreciated: like food to try or beach to visit. (staying in San Juan) moreResolved Question: Puerto Rico just for a weekend where do I go?
Im going to Puerto Rico for 1 weekend only. I have never been before. My goal is to visit a great beach and to dance at night clubs all night long. Does anyone (preferably college age give or take a decade!) know of any hot beaches and nightclubs to hit in september? I am staying in Old San Juan and do not have a rental car. Bonus: dance clubs with techno music- are there any? Bonus Plus: dance clubs with a dance pole-are there any? Thank you so much for your advise! moreResolved Question: How long is the drive to Camp Pendleton?
Hey Everyone, I will be relocating soon to start my new job on Camp Pendleton. I will be using the Christianitos gate, but not sure what area would suite me best to live in. I want to be close to a good nightlife, beaches, good neighborhoods, and a decent commute to work. I am looking at buying a condo under 200K and it seems like OS has more to offer for the price. I’ve considered as far north as San Juan Capistrano and as far South as Carlsbad for a place. Does anyone know the commutes from either place to Area 62(Camp San Mateo)? What is traffic like at 630am and 3pm? Thanks, JJ moreResolved Question: What is there to do around San Juan outside of a Resort?
Im thinking of going to PR in October for about 3-4 days but Im trying to think if its worth the extra money to stay at a resort. Im not a golfer so what else is there to do outside of a resort around San Juan? Im mostly interested in relaxing and eating good food while enjoying nice scenery and beaches. Is there enough things to do that would be time better spent outside of the resort? Ill have a car but dont want to do hours of driving all day, mostly walk and relax.I was thinking of staying at San Huan Resort and Casino. moreResolved Question: Pet-friendly Puerto Rico?
I am traveling to San Juan/Condado with my toy poodle later this month and was wondering if any beaches and/or restaurant patios in the area allow dogs? moreResolved Question: Does anyone know any leasing agents who can help me find and apartment in the Orange County, CA area?
I have been trying to find a leasing agent online for weeks but have been unsuccessful. I'll be searching for leasing agents and potential job opportunities (for those seeking to become leasing agents) will come up; some agents I have contacted will tell me they only deal with buyers and sellers, (as opposed to tenants and landlords), or only with houses, not apartments/condos; some have refused to listen to me and when given my monetary limitations or other requirements have simply ignored them and while promising to send me dozens of listings fitting my criteria, have only sent me a mere 3-4, NONE OF THEM MATCHING ANY OF MY REQUIREMENTS. Also, so sick of being reffered to craigslist, I mean if that is what I wanted, why the heck would I seek out the services of a leasing agent?? Also, my budget is about $1000-1150 per month, so if you know anyone willing to work within that budget that would be great. As I said, I am willing to live pretty much anywhere within the Orange County area, but prefer the San Clemente, Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capristrano, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Beach, or Dana Point areas. moreResolved Question: Help, I am trying to find a beach in Orange county?
Somewhere near or around San Juan Capistrano there is a beach that has a long set of stairs and a steep hill. There is parking and I seem to remember it being accross the street from some houses or apartments. And its up high because to get to the beach you have to go down this long set of steps and then after the steps there is a somewhat steep path. I have been losing my mind trying to find it cause its not where I remember it. Anywho its somewhere near or around like Doheny beach and Dana Point. Not sure which direction... moreResolved Question: Which is nicer to visit (for beautiful blue water and white sand): San Juan, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands?

I plan to spend 3 days in Puerto Rico (possibly from 17th to 19th or 20th). I want to spend as less money as possible and spend more time on seeing Puerto Rico and trying local food. My plan so far is to go to San Juan, spend first day there, explore the city. On second day I plan to visit El Yunque very early in morning. And in afternoon (I guess, not so soon yet) go to Luquillo and beaches near by. Do you think I should also visit Fajardo (which is a bit south from Luquillo)? Do you think I should stop somewhere else on my way from El Yunque to Luquillo? Maybe some other unique small towns of interest. I guess in afternoon, I can go back to San Juan, see nightlife. (I also thinking to rent a car, you think it would be a better option or not?) About third day. If I will be leaving on 19th, I would just stay in San Juan. But if we will leave on 20th (maybe morning). What do you think I should do on 19th or where should I go? Can anyone please give me some other ideas? What else can I see? Do you think Luquillo and possibly Fajardo would be nice places to see after El Yunque? Or maybe I can visit something else after walk in El Yunque? Where can I buy cheap tickets to Puerto Rico? My Spanish is not good. Do you think I would easily able to rent a car or hotel room… etc.PS... I am in northern Alabama now.Do you think we would be able to travel by ourselves? My family and I are thinking about going on vacation for a week in Puerto Rico. We were thinking San Juan particularly since I've read the beaches are beautiful there. im going to san juan, puerto rico this august for the first time. and i want to know what are some good restaurants, beaches and other attractions that i should visit??? thank you moreResolved Question: spanish speakers please help im writing a letter?
can you help me translate this please: I am so excited that you are coming to Puerto Rico! I am having so much fun here and I am going to make sure to tell you everything about Puerto Rico and what to bring for your trip so it can be very enjoyable. Aside from the obvious camera, here is a guide to help you as you pack for your trip to the enchanting island. First of all, you must remember where Puerto Rico is. It is a small island located in the Caribbean. This means that it is warm all year round. That being said, you can forget all of the jackets and heavy clothes. You should consider a small sweater that you can bring with you to just in case. Sometimes, the air-conditioning in the restaurants is a little too cool. Usually, this is only because they are trying to help out the tourists that are not used to such warm weather. As you pack for the trip, consider what you will be doing. Are you going to the beach? Definitely remember your sunscreen. The sun down here is very intense, so it is very important to protect your skin. Obviously, you will need your swimming suits. Many of the hotels provide towels for the beach, but you may want to bring your own. If you forget a swimming suit or towel don't worry. There are numerous shops, especially in tourist area, that sell these types of things. Most likely your whole trip will not be spent at the beach. You will want to get out and explore the island, including Old San Juan and El Yunque. These trips require some walking, so bring several good pairs of shoes. You should also bring a rain poncho because it does rain in Puerto Rico, just like anywhere else. If you bring your poncho you can put it on during the rain and continue exploring the island. Again, if you forget one it will be for sale in the shops. That is everything I know and everything you need to have a good time in Puerto Rico! Start packing because I cannot wait to see you! THANKS GUYS! moreResolved Question: Vacation- Puerto Rico?

For a good price?
Me and my friend have been to Cancun 3 times and had a 4th trip planned at the end of May and now are canceling due to the swine flu. We are from Cleveland we would love an all inclusive but they are hard to find and expensive outside of Mexico. We would like to stay under $2,000 for our entire vacation - air - hotel - food - drinks - clubs. We are going to Vegas at a later date already. Looked into San Juan but seems like all the clubs are 40 minutes away from the resorts and you have to go to old San Juan. I am planning to go to Puerto Rico (first time ever) next weekend to celebrate my birthday (27) with just my girlfriend (only 2 of us). I was wondering where to stay - San Juan or Rio Grande area(?)... [Frankly, I know Rio Grande only because I was looking at hotel+flight deals]. What are the pros and cons of each? Which one do you prefer for my celebration? OR do you recommend something different altogether completely? --- Also, what are the 'bad' neighborhoods of San Juan (or others) to avoid if any? I cannot speak spanish at all. I would prefer to stay in a safe locals & tourist friendly area as I assume they would have more beach, clubs, nite activites, etc. (I might be completely wrong). Please advice as I want my birthday to be memorable.......thank you! moreTop San Juan Beaches Links
