We will be going to Tampa, FL for a vacation in Mid April. We have booked a stay at a kitchen suite on the Bay near the airport for our stay. Resolved Question: Do you get your money's worth with the All Day Dining Passes at Sea World parks?

We're going to be traveling to Florida for our kids' spring break and I was wondering how economical the dining passes are. The Sea World & Busch Gardens Tampa Bay all-day dining passes (with 6 & 7 participating food vendors respectively) are $105 per day for my family of four and the Aquatica all-day dining pass would be $72 per day for their "Banana Beach Cook-out". We get free breakfast with our hotel accommodations, but I can see us easily staying at the parks late enough for dinner. For those of you who have purchased (or not purchased) these dining plans - do you consider the value and variety worth the money or would you recommend eating a la carte? It seems easier to me to get the wristband and get unlimited entrees, sides, deserts, and non-alcoholic beverages all day rather than pass around or have to carry cash or credit cards in the park, especially if we split up into pairs occasionally. I know that three of us have easily spent $60 on one meal at Six Flags before, so by comparison to that I feel like this would be a great deal. I haven't been to any of the parks we're visiting, however, so I don't know how the total price compares to the individual costs of food. more

I live in Florida. The Tampa Bay area. I am also an artist. I create surreal or fantasy landscapes in which I use a lot of photos of places like the British Isles and elsewhere in my work. Why? I like the hilly fairytale landscapes with the topiary gardens, ruins and hedgerows, etc. I would love to live in the British Isles and walk among those places. I realize that it gets cold and it is frequently cloudy there. I like a cloudy day now and then but too many can be depressing. Here in Florida, it is sunny most of the time. It is also hot and humid most of the time. We need to have the air conditioning on at least eight months each year. What I mainly dislike about Florida is the terrain. It is flat and modern housing developments are everywhere.There are no mountains at all and very few hills or valleys. To me, this gives one a sense of perspective when you are up on a hill looking over the landscape. Here in florida, out in the country (what's left of it) it is just flat palmetto scrub and thin pine trees in the interior. The beaches at sunset are nice when they aren't too crowded but otherwise you cannot walk anywhere. If you approach a field or lake that hasn't been developed yet, you aren't allowed to get too close because they are always fenced off with 'no tress-passing ' signs everywhere. Yet I meet people from England or Ireland who have moved here and it baffles me. Do you realize how truly beautiful your countries are? more

I want to send my friend to Tampa on a much needed Vacation(Tampa was her choice). From looking at things online it seems St. Petersburg has nice beaches. Are the beaches sou rounding Tampa Bay any good? I kind of wanted to get her a Hotel near the Salvador Dali Museum but not if there are no good beaches for her to go to around there. I just know she will want to check that Museum out. So she is not going to have a car and she will only be staying three nights. I'd like to buy my dad a few nice lures for fishing the inlets and bays around Tampa in Feb. I'm looking for good all-around lures. We normally fish fresh water so I have ideas of what will work, but I would like advice on what works best. Interested in buying a well-rounded set so he can try a variety of different situations. At the end of April my husband and I will get to spend 2 nights/3 days in Tampa. Since we'll be flying out of the Tampa Airport and won't have a car we'd like these features in a hotel. We are going for a vacation in October to Bradenton and Sarasota and we have two 2 years old boys, so we are looking everywhere in the stores around here (Virginia)and online for SWIM FLOAT SUIT for our kids, but nobody have anything anymore ,because everybody think that the summer is over(really depressing) so I was wonder if we can still find something in Tampa bay area, Bradenton or Sarasota in October because I went in February and the weather was great(85 degrees ) and we went to the beach with my kids and was incredible.(I LOVE FLORIDA) So can we still find bathing suit for us and swim float suit for our little one so they can be safe and enjoy the ocean. I'm part of a fraternity that is holding its annual national convention in Tampa Bay, Fl. this year. My chapter is repsonsibile for arranging convention gifts to give out to the members. We are on a $25 budget for each person and around 200+ are expected to attend. Need ideas for gifts we can hand out, this is the first time the national convention is going to be held outside of the fraternity's home state of Texas, so we were thinking something florida or beach themed. I'm having a beach wedding in February in the Tampa Bay area, and want to have a wedding dress suited for that. Temperatures are normally between 50 and 70 degrees for that time of year. I want to wear a fairly simple dress, suited for "frolic" at the beach, yet still long and somewhat elegant. Dresses at normal bridal boutiques seem to be too formal, but I don't know where else to look. We are both in education ( he is a high school math teacher and I am a speech therapist). We want to live somewhere that is warm all year round, is beautiful, a family environment, and a low crime rate. We are not rich...we are teachers :). We need an affordable place but a place that is nice. We do want kids soon...so a family place is preferred. We have looked in south florida (palm beach county, lee county, tampa bay etc...) We have also looked into Arizona. I like Chandler or Scottsdale. I would love personal opinions from those who live in places...not just what you think. Resolved Question: What are some nice towns to visit in the Southern gulf coast part of Florida?

I'm planning on going to the Tampa Bay area and taking Route 41 all the way down to Naples. Is Naples nice? What about towns like Venice and Bonita Beach? And does anyone know if some decent, not too expensive places to stay and fun stuff to do for a single woman in her 30's (I love nature and the beach but I like the nightlife and shopping as well)? I'm thinking of moving to Florida and I need some opinions! I am DEFINITELY leaning towards the Gulf Coast side so forget about South Beach (I don't have that kind of money anyways). These are the towns/areas that I've narrowed it down to! Tampa Ft. Myers Clearwater St.Petersburg Cape Coral Sanibel Island (my favorite but costly and kinda remote) Naples Siesta Key Sarasota I don't want to live anywhere north of the Tampa Bay area and anywhere south of Marco Island and at least 10 miles from the water. I'm single w/ no kids in my early 30's and I love nature but I also like to go to cool clubs and bars once in a while. Some of the other things I like that may help you decide where would be best for me are fishing boating hiking horseback riding biking shopping (when I have the money) clubbing (not every night though, lol!) cultural activites and art GOING TO THE BEACH AND TANNING! My lil brother may be stationed near Pensacola, so it would be cool to be close to him, but he wont be there for a year or so. I'm 35 and have no children. I've grown up in the midwest and there is nothing really keeping me here. I've always loved Florida and I'd like to try living somewhere different! I'm a recovering alcoholic so I'm not into going to the bars and clubs. I love animals and I would like to move somewhere where I can bring my small dogs. I'm on disability but I can still work part-time and I'm not worried too much about finances. I am hoping to find somewhere that I could share a home or apartment until I find a place of my own! Here are the important things that I want in a place I move to! 1. must be close to the beach 2. must be a decent area with not a lot of drug activity and crime 3. have a decent amount of single guys 30-50 4. must be a pretty place to live with lots of foliage and greenery 5. must not be a place that is 90% senior citizens, LOL (I know may be hard in Florida)! 6. somewhere that has a lot of activities and fun things to do. I like horseback riding, fishing, swimming, going to the beach, shopping, biking, walking, doing "touristy" things, etc... 7. I'd prefer somewhere that doesn't get lower than 50 degrees in the winter and has a breeze to keep things cooler in the summer. 8. Maybe somewhere UP AND COMING like the new "cool" place for young people to live (I consider myself a young 35 year old!) Like I said, it doesn't have to be Florida. 9. Public transportation would be nice. I will have a car but want to use it minimally and would rather bike,walk, or take a bus. 10. maybe a college town? Like I said, it does NOT have to be Florida! The places that I've been to in Florida include Sanibel Island (though too costly for me right now and a pain to get to Ft. Myers), the Tampa Bay area, and Sarasota and Siesta Key. ANY IDEAS??? Walmart doesnt carry them IN store, only online, and I wanted to buy one right away. They do have the cheapest one at 90 bucks and I wanted to find something at a similar price.
