Resolved Question: I need help choosing the best beach in Tobago.?
I'm not in to snorkling and I don't care about beach bars. I just want beautiful sand and clear, clean water. Can you compare Pigeon Point Beach to Englishman's Bay. moreVoting Question: I can't stand my father anymore? I refuse to take his BS?
This basically all started a little while back, but I'm refusing to take anything from my father anymore. Today, I wanted to go to one of my best friend's houses. But when told my father, he told me no, and that I would most likely never go to her house because her mother's boyfriend lives with them. They're super nice people, and my dad even said they were, but he refused to let me see her. I asked him what I should tell her whenever she wants to hang at her place, and he said to tell her every time that I can't. I always take all of this from my dad, but today I didn't because he was being so rude, and I said, "No, why don't I tell her that my dad is a judgemental bastard?!" So, he stared at me, and said, "You better shut up!" and I only made it worse and said, "No, YOU SHUT UP!! Your a freakin' hypocrit!! You speak of being a good Christian, but your late to church every Sunday, your addicted to beer and chewing tobago, you watch crap and do things you'd refuse to let me do or see, and you constantly fight with mom and everyone else! Your a hypocrit, and that's why everyone hates you!!!" I know I shouldn't have said that, but I couldn't take this from him anymore, and it felt good to finally call my dad a name and tell him to shut up. So, im grounded, first weekend of the summer :( I'm only 15, and my dad treats me as if he doesn't care about me and my life. The thing is he let my older sister and two younger siblings do things I'm never aloud to do. He doesn't let me see a majority of my friends because he's judgemental, even if they're better people than he is, I sneak around his back CONSTANTLY so I can live the life of a normal teenage girl. I can't see friends, I meet up with them when I say I'm simply going out. I'm not aloud to date or have a boyfriend, I date guys behind his back. I can't wear certian clothes, I wear them with my mother's consent, and not his, when he's not around. I'm NEVER aloud to wear a bikini, my bestie brings me bikinis to the pool, pool parties, the beach, vacation, etc. I'm not aloud to watch PG-13, rated R, movies, I rent them and go to them and go to movies with my friends all the time. I'm strictly never aloud to have guy friends over, I invite them over when he's not home (we don't do anything tho, just hang out like normal friends). This list could go on forever, even while doing these things, I'm still a very good girl who goes to church constantly, never curses unless I'm pissed, has never drank, never smoked, never tried drugs, still a virgin, not gonna have sex until I'm married. I'm just so tired of my dad controlling my life, he doesn't live in reality. I know he thinks I'm a terrible, immoral person behind his back half of the time, but im just trying to have fun and live a normal life. I'm slowly beginning to hate him, but I don't know what to do anymore. I'm tired of being treated like a baby, he neads to let me grow up and live like an adult. When I move out, he's not gonna be around to tell me what to do, and i'm happy I learned ho to stand up to him. My sister moved out of the house when she was barely 18, because she couldn't stand our dad, but I don't want to end up like her, and I'm way more rebbelious*rebellious, haha sorry typo :P SORRY THIS IS CRAZY LONG!!!!!!!!I know my dad loves me, and he says he wants wants best for me, and I respect him for that and I'm happy I have a father who cares. But, yes, he "cares" to the point where I feel like a prisoner and he doesn't care about how I feel about anything. One thing that makes me upset is that my sisters bestie's mother lives with her boyfriend, and she pregnant. My bestie's mother and bf are getting married at the end of this month, my sisters bestie's mother doesn't plan marring her bf. I told my dad this too, he didn't say a word.Believe me, I'm happy I didn't a punch in the mouth, because I could tell he was about to but my mom stopped him. moreResolved Question: How prevelant are gigolos/beach boys in the Caribbean?
Maybe I am geting less observant as I get older but I was in Tobago recently and I did not observe as many beach boys peddling sex to tourists as I used to. Maybe they moved to other Caribbean territories or wised up to the dangers of this activity? moreResolved Question: Looking to travel/ party in Caribbean during may/june 2010? Who has the nightlife?
I am traveling to the Caribbean's in late may/june. My dates are flexible and i am debating on were to go. I am looking for some nightlife bars, club, beach parties..I am 23 and looking to enjoy the tropics and unwind at night for a good price. Ive been looking at Trinidad/Tobago, Dominican Republic, and Barbados. Im open to ideas moreResolved Question: What's the best spot for a Caribbean vacation, bang-for-your-buck-wise?
The girlfriend and I are looking for a 5-7 day Caribbean excursion. There are so many options on the table we feel we are spreading ourselves too thin in our search, so we'd like to narrow. Here's what we are looking for (in order of importance): 1) A price tag under $1600 when all is said and done. (Flight, hotel, food/drink, activities...everything) 2) Beautiful, not-too-crowded beaches with clean, clear water. Access to secluded areas, and kid-free beaches would be great. 3) A variety of activities. While the greater part of this trip will be beach relaxing, we definitely want a couple days of adventure. Specifically: snorkeling/diving, jungle tours/hiking, rafting/tubing, ruins and landmarks, off-roading, fishing, etc, etc. I'm a nature boy, so I'm more interested in off-the-beaten-path stuff as opposed to cookie cutter tourist trap stuff. We want nice amenities, but don't require 5 star. We are 31/26, so are down with a bit of nightlife, but aren't going crazy. If anyone has suggestions on destinations, and maybe even resorts or regions within those destinations, we would greatly appreciate the advice. Also, recs on where NOT to go are also great. Here is our current, broad list: Costa Rica Belize Riviera Maya Aruba Puerto Rico Bay Islands (Honduras) Virgin Gorda (Little Dix Bay) Turks and Caicos Bahamas US Virgin Islands Jamaica Dominican Republic Trinidad/Tobago Feel free to talk up or talk down these spots or add to the list. Thanks in advance! moreResolved Question: Trinidad and Tobago hotels/resorts?
im going with my family what are high class not to pricey family resorts and on the beach or close to if possible. moreResolved Question: Carribean Beach hut holidays?
I'd really like to go to a carribean island for a 2 week holiday in February 2010. I was thinking Tobago but having looked at accomodation it doesn't look like you can stay in cheap beach huts like you can in Thailand for example. Does anyone know of any carribean islands where you can stay in fairly basic cheap beach huts? Thanks :-) moreResolved Question: Should I be concerned about my wife wanting to go to Tobago after she saw a travel show w/studly black men?
Basically we watched this travel show about Trinidad and Tobago. During the show, they showed young and fit shirtless black men on the beach. There was also a fishing charter boat on this show that showed them catching fish. My wife told me we should go there so I could fish since I love to fish so much. She said that she would stay back at the resort while I was fishing and do some shopping or get some spa treatments. I can't help but think she wants to get some young black bone. I sense it very much. I heard how white women go to these islands to secretly sleep with young black men. Am I being too paranoid as a husband or am I on to something? moreResolved Question: What is your favorite carribean island and why?
my favourite will be trinidad and tobago why because the nice food, the music Calypso and soca music, the beaches but most of all CARNIVAL... so i'm asking which one is yours... moreResolved Question: Caribbean islands...which one?
I'm very confused. I'm planning a vacation in the caribbean, but the more I search and the more I find places where I'd like to go, so, it's hard to decide. I'd like a place to relax but also a place where there is something to do/see other than laying down on the beach. So far I'm looking at: Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua, Trinidad and Tobago and St. Lucia. Which one of these (or more suggestions)? Thanks moreResolved Question: Has anyone had wedding ceremony on boat/yacht/catamaran?

This is where the Yahoo! community gets to decide the outcome of Survivor: Trinidad and Tobago. This is fiction. Last time on Survivor: Rachel and Erina had immunity. Jamie who's shoes had been put in the fire by Rachel (He thought Siena did it) was voted off as he was the last guy standing. 6 women remain. If you want the pre-jury boots email me. Jury: Serinity, Jamie As the Bogologo tribe got back to camp the girls celebrated that the guys were gone. 9 of them going before the jury. They gossiped all night long. The next morning Romy was awake and getting the fire going. Rachel got up and sat next to her. They talked. Romy talked about her family. Rachel talked about mashed potatoes. They talked about other things. Rachel told how she had been beaten as a kid by her dad. Romy comforted Rachel. As Siena woke up Rachel ran in the woods to be alone. The tribe went to the beach and Jeff told them they would be having a reward challenge. It would be the family challenge. Jeff then brought out Siena's mom Jill. Romy's husband Jake, Rachel's brother Joe, Katy's boyfriend Mike, Jella's son Cris, and Erina's husband Billy. The challenge would be a combined reward/immunity challenge. Each couple would be tied together the first 3 temas to make it over a balance beam would move on to the 2nd round which would be all 3 teams battling on a platform trying to push each other off. The last team on the platform wins immunity. Before they started Rachel started crying. Joe told her that her mom had died. Rachel/Joe, Romy/Jake and Katy/Mike won the first round. On the platform Rachel/Joe pushed Katy/Mike off. Romy then told Jake that she wanted Rachel to win because she would feel bad that Rachel's mom had died and wanted her to find out what happened. This resulted in Rachel winning immunity. She then went off on her reward with her brother. They laughed in the boat because her mom was at home watching Oprah. Also she had never been hit as a kid. Rachel turned to the camera and said "Thanks Johhny Fairplay" Rachel and Joe enjoyed Pizza and went off on the boat laughing. At Bogologo Romy sat in the shelter alone. She knew that Fairplay had lied in the Pearl islands. However she wanted to believe Rachel and she did. Erina sat packing her bags. She knew she was next. The next day Rachel came back from her reward. She sat and told everyone. That was the first food anyone had had that wasn't rice or bananas. Katy liked Jella but didn't want to go against her in the end. She knew that everyone (except Romy) hated Rachel and most hated Erina. She knew it would be smart to go with the hated and win the game. Or she also knew that she had money and could go against the good girls and come in 3rd or 4th. Katy went over to Rachel and asked her if they wanted to vote out Romy. Rachel said it had to be Jella because she would win. She secretly wanted it to be the good vs. evil. Romy vs. Rachel along with some floater like Siena. Katy is mad by this and doesn't know what to do. She can force a tie or vote off Erina who has long been a target. So what should Katy do? Who should be voted off the island? (Siena/Romy/Jella/Erina/Katy) moreResolved Question: What is it like in Tobago (Trinidad) for a vacation?
Affordable? Beaches, entertainment? moreResolved Question: Survivor: Trinidad and Tobago (episode 2)?
This is where the Yahoo! community will decide who wil win Survivor: Trinidad and Tobago. Last time on Survivor: The castaways were introduced to each other. Romy and Marky led the Tulvi tribe in building the shelter. Rachel, Siena and Molly laid down and suntanned. At Rixolo Katy and Brady hit it off. Blake and Jamie formed an alliance. Shannon and Erina formed an alliance. At the immunity challenge Tulvi had the lead until Molly told the tribe to crash into the other teams raft. The plan backfired and Rixolo won immunity. At Tulvis camp Cole betrayed his alliance and went with Romy, Nolan, Marky, Serinity and Tadhg to vote off the weak link Molly. As the Tulvi tribe got back to camp Cole told Rachel why he had betrayed her. Rachel blew him off. Romy and Tadhg got a fire going. As the tribe sat around it, Seth laid in the shelter. Seth was feeling sick. As Rachel looked up Seth threw up. Rachel ran around screaming "eew" "At this point we have two weak links, Rachel and Seth" Marky told the camera. The next morning the tribes arrived on the beach. Each tribe will select 3 people to run through the forest tied together. Then another 3 and another 3. John will sit out for Rixolo. Tulvi selects Rachel, Romy and Marky to go first. Rixolo picks Jella, Blake and Aquamarine to go first. Jella trips a little bit but both tribes finish close together but Tulvi gets a little head start Tadhg, Siena and Serinity race through. Rixolo's Shannon, Brady and Jamie catch up and pass Tulvi. Katy, Kody and Erina have trouble in the woods as Seth gets dragged along by Nolan and Marky. The boys pass Rixolo and win immunity. At Rixolo Blake has his pants low so his boxers are showing. "Pull your pants up" John tells him. Jamie then drops his all the way down. "Suck it old fart" Jamie tells him. Katy walks by whistling. She stops as Kody pulls Blake's shorts and boxers down. "You're a senior, you look like a 3rd grader." Blake gets embarrased. He pulls his pants up and runs to the forest. Jamie, and Shannon run after him. "i want him gone" Blake says crying. "Next time we need to get rid of the old fart first." Jamie tells him. Blake, Jamie, Shannon and Erina control the tribe they get to decide who gets voted off. Do they use common sense or emotion. Or since there young do they vote randomly. So who should be the 2nd person voted off the island? (Blake,Jamie,Brady,Kody,John,Shannon,Katy, Jella,Erina,Aquamarine)The K that's missing up above is Katy. moreResolved Question: Trinidad and Tobago has more tourism potential?
I am not saying that we need to focus wholeheartedly on tourism. I think that alot of Trinis are not aware of the great stuff our country as to offer. Trinidad and Tobago is the ultimate package. Trinis dont know the level of beauty that the island has. There are alot of "undiscovered" beaches. Most people only go to Maracas and Chaguaramas. We have alot of hiking trails, waterfalls, birdwatching. Most trinis dont even go to some of the great attractions. Trinidad can be a major Eco tourism destination right behind Dominica.I know Tobago is known for its beaches and the coral reefs but there has been alot of violence against tourist. I wish that would stop moreResolved Question: Does anybody know resorts in Gasparee islands, Trinidad?

I was thinking of bringing my family to Tobago for a visit and was doing some research on the net. I was shocked to find stories (from the actual victims) of crimes in Tobago. How do Trinidadians feel about visiting Tobago? Here are some of the stories I found:- http://www.thetobagonews.com/index.pl/article?id=11356595 and this different one as well -------- Posted on: 4:23 am, January 09, 2009 Save This letter was published in Tobago News today: THE Editor: The ever-increasing news of robberies and violent assaults in Tobago have been matched 100 times over by painful reports on websites for potential Tobago visitors. Tobago is rapidly becoming a "no go" destination for all but the wealthy few who are happy being locked up in exclusive resorts with little or no contact with the richness and spirit of Tobago life and culture. I have been a regular visitor to the island for fifteen years, taking my precious two weeks vacation primarily in Charlotteville at the charming residences of Pat Nicholson. I have roamed all over the island, met hundreds of residents, watched children grow into adulthood and made some dear friends over the years. On my last visit in August and September, my longest so far, I became one more statistic in the growing list of victims of crime. Thieves broke into my rental apartment while I slept and stole my computer and camera equipment as well as cash and a number of other items. Happily I was not assaulted. The amount of money I paid for these things would be more than enough to buy a new boat and outboard motor for a fisherman; support a local soccer team for a few years or send a child to university. This was grand larceny but it never made the news. Crime has always been with us, everywhere but there is a new kind of criminality that has infected life all over the world and it has finally spread to Tobago. Hard drug crime. The sale and use of cocaine, heroin and amphetamines have become obvious everywhere in Tobago. On the beach that borders the road to the high school in Speyside the pushers boldly await their young clients and spent hypodermics are easy to find. Unlike common marijuana these drugs are costly, highly addictive and very profitable. As a result of this trade the island is awash in drug money but the trade is also producing buyers who are incapable of working but need more and more money to pay for their addiction. As the spiral of addiction and crime increases the addicts become more ruthless and violent. It is easier to rob tourists than your mother or father. But this will not last. Tourism will evaporate and the island's residents will become the new targets, the new source of fast money. (By some reports this has already begun.) That's what happens everywhere else in the world where people ignore the reality of the hard drug trade and it is coming down the road to your home in Tobago. You can bet on it. In my case the general response of both police and residents was this: "of course, you have insurance". There was great sympathy for me in the village but in the end the crime was not solved and I think it never will be. I tried hard not to have my love of Tobago stolen from me along with my possessions and the residents of the village did their best to help me. I am back in Canada but, sadly, I can no longer carry the island in my heart. It is a great loss. If you, the people of Tobago, let the drug dealers steal the island from your hearts where will you go? A five-day effort by law enforcement to target fugitive aliens has resulted in 110 arrests, including 11 in Tampa. The operation was organized by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, and was aimed at illegal immigrants who ignored orders to leave the country. Of the 110 arrested, 81 fell under that category; the remaining 29 had other immigration violations. ICE officials said 24 of those arrested had criminal histories. In addition to the 11 arrested in Tampa, 47 arrests were made in Miami-Dade, 30 in Broward, 15 in Palm Beach and seven in Orlando. "ICE will continue to arrest and deport aliens who have ignored an immigration judge's order to leave the country," Michael Rozos, field office director for the ICE Office of Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) in Florida, said in a press release issued today. "While we are a welcoming country, we expect those wanting to immigrate here to do so in a safe, legal and orderly manner. We will conduct these targeted fugitive operations to ensure that removal orders are carried out and locate these immigration violators who potentially pose a threat to public safety. Those that want to avoid arrest should comply with the law." Of those arrested, 93 remain in ICE custody. Seventeen were processed for removal and released under supervision as part of the Alternatives to Detention Program (ATD). Under that program, ICE can release illegal immigrants and order they be supervised until they are deported. The program is usually used for immigrants who are sole caregivers or have medical problems. According to ICE, the arrests had an international flavor, with the home countries of those arrested including Guatemala, Haiti, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Moldova, Cuba, Bahamas, Nicaragua, Peru, Poland, Jamaica, Bangladesh, Mexico, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and Gambia. http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/dec/23/sweep-results-arrests-110-immigration-charges/ moreResolved Question: What can I do on a sunday on Trinidad & Tobago? I am planning my honeymoon and am thinking Tobago. Does anyone know the weather situation on Tobago in October? We are looking for a relaxing beach vacation and the less rain the better. We are really looking for a relaxing vacation and like our privacy and space, but we also enjoy a little bit of nightlife. Thanks for any information! moreResolved Question: Do you like trinidad and tobago
its not that i dislike trinidad. im proud of my country. its just that i'm getting fed-up with the crime, inflation, corruption, the nasty manzanilla beach. its starting to get old. do u feel the same way? moreResolved Question: Barbados on a budget? Is it possible?? Or should we go All Inclusive??
Hi I'm looking to go to Barbados in mid September 08 for 2 weeks with my boyfriend both in mid 30's. (last minute!) I have read reviews on trip advisor and picked Yellow Bird in St lawerence gap as my number 1 choice so far (from about £650 each inc flights). Can anyone give me any ideas on how much it would cost to eat and drink in the area. (we usually go all inclusive but the all inclusive seemed a lot more expensive and wasnt sure if it was worth it??? Was thinking of Turtle Beach resort in St Lawrence.) We dont want to spend more than £600 ideally on food drink and going out between the two of us for the 2 week stay is that a realistic amount? My boyfriend likes a beer or two or 3 or 4 (lol) and is not really into clubbing (shocking) I like cocktails and love to dance! Ive been to Tobago and Trinidad regularly but this would be my first time to Barbados since I was a young child and would really appriciate any tips? Is it the best central location and is it safe to hire a car and drive in Barbados? This is the first time we have considered a budget self catering holiday in the Caribbean ... Is it worth paying the extra for all inclusive?? Thanks for your help and suggestions. Have a great day! moreResolved Question: Is it only in the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago that these Variations of limes grow?
We are getting so close to our trip and the excitment is uncontainable. Question. My friend told me that there are so many variations of lime and I wanted to know if that is so true. There is a lime that grows by the beach. There is a lime that grows in town. There is one called a "buss-a-lime" But what really baffeled me is that he said that the locals celebrate the blossoming of these limes.. So please let me know if these variations of limes only grow in the forest or can they be found anywhere in the islands? moreResolved Question: What is the best week-end activity in Trinidad and Tobago?
Yes we have our faithful beach-goers or river-limers! But what else to do moreResolved Question: Just how many people wear makeup on the beach?
I have a friend in Tobago who says that she wears makeup on her legs when she goes to the beach. Tobago is a really laid-back place so I'm thinking in the U.S. it must be rampant seeing that we are soooo concerned with outer-looks. moreResolved Question: Where should we go for an October honeymoon?
My fiancée and I will be married in Chicago on Oct. 4. We're looking for a honeymoon trip that combines R&R (preferably on a beach) with sightseeing. We were thinking that the Yucatán penninsula would provide this combo, but we would be going in the middle of hurricane season. Any suggestions on other possibilities? I know that islands farther south are out of the hurricane belt: Aruba, Trinidad & Tobago. We prefer room-only hotels in cities where we can find different dining options nearby. Or are we overlooking a totally different option? We would prefer to stay in the Western Hemisphere, as one of us does not like flights of more than eight hours. moreResolved Question: Trinbago Easter Weekend - what are your plans for the long weekend?

I know that's incredibly little to go on. The last sound is something ending in 'bago' - Winnebago; Tobago... etc. There's also some mention of a drink in there somewhere, I think... 'sipping on a...' something or something like that. It's about a beach... or the Summer or something. Thank you! Btw, I can't remember if it had a male or female sniger, which doesn't help!Leonard W - Trust me, I've been whistling it all day! (well - humming!) Aimee - You are AMAZING! That was it!! I have no idea where I got that 'bago' part from, lol! That is the song! It's been in my head all day and no-one could tell me what it was! I seriously did not think this would work, because obviously you can't hear it! Lol! I'm pleased that my mmm-mmm-mm's worked! =D I am now trying to figure out how to make you the winner... or does it go to a vote? If it does, vote for Aimee! =DAlso - niccy - thanks for reminding me of Club Tropicana - that's a great song! :) moreResolved Question: which of these places have black sand beaches?

would you say is your first pick of beaches in T&T? Mine would be Toco beach I remember having so much fun in the water. The waves could be rough and by the time you got home you were left feeling so tired. Tired but happy that you went! I also can remember the sand in Toco and how it felt beneath my feet. Pelau, dhalpourie roti, macaroni pie, potato pie, baked chicken and chow mein are some of the things I like taking to the beach to eat. Not all at the same time or else I would not have any time to go in the water lol. I'm looking for a romantic hotel, preferably beach front, or something very close to the beach that also has activities at the hotel, such as tennis or that sort of thing that we could do at the end of the day when we come back to the hotel. The Significant Other and I live in the US. We have been to Belize, Bonaire, Trinidad, Tobago, and Jamaica. We would like to try something different. Money is a little tight. Where should we go for good snorkeling and beaches? Thank you for all suggestions. moreResolved Question: Being murdered - awaiting my turn?
Should I stay or should I go. Check out this letter to the editor in Todays, Trinidad & Tobago Guardian... http://www.guardian.co.tt/letters.html That sums up the worst of the country but on the positive side, the climate is great, the beaches are fantastic, the scenery and the rain forest is amazing, I enjoy my job and all the people I have met since coming here have been freindly and extremly welcoming. In short I like living here. The downside is that there is poverty, there is a lack of capacity by Government to implement change and there is the presumption that corruption is rife in the public service. Also, there is crime and perhaps more crucially the fear of crime. I personally have not been touched by crime in all the 4 years that I have been living here, however, 2 elderly neighbours were murdered in the last month in what has been an extremly quite street. I am now questioning whether I should stay or should I go? moreTop Tobago Beaches Links
