I am going on the spring trip to Washington DC and New York with my school. I am partnered with a two other girls and we need a "group name". We have no idea what to be called. Police: Illegal immigrant's arrest starts with loud car By Bob Susnjara | Daily Herald StaffContact writer Martin G. Alvarez 1 of 1 Browse All Image Galleries Published: 1/21/2010 4:54 PMSend To: E-mail: To: From: Name: E-mail: Comments: (61) | read | postBuzz up! A loud muffler led to the arrest of a man in possession of cocaine and fake Social Security cards, Round Lake Park police said. Police Chief George Filenko said Martin G. Alvarez, 33, of the 500 block of Laurel Court in Round Lake Beach, was being held at the Lake County jail Thursday for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. Alvarez was charged with driving on a revoked license, no insurance, possession of a controlled substance, no muffler on vehicle and two counts of having altered identification. Filenko said Officer Hector Lepe was on routine patrol about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on Washington Street at Linden Drive in Round Lake Park when he heard the loud muffler on Alvarez's 1997 Volkswagen Jetta. Lepe then found Alvarez possessing two Social Security cards with his name on them, but different numbers on each, said Filenko. He said investigators will contact the Social Security Administration. Filenko said investigators believe Alvarez is an illegal immigrant, in part because of the bogus Social Security cards. He said one concern is Alvarez has used real Social Security numbers of U.S. citizens, who might face scrutiny from the Internal Revenue Service if he used the documentation to obtain jobs and didn't pay income taxes. "We're furthering the investigation of those cards," said Filenko. Filenko said an unspecified amount of cocaine was found in Alvarez's Jetta after it was towed to Round Lake Park police headquarters. He said the drug was detected by police dog Blade and his handler, Officer Tony Colon. It's not known how Alvarez obtained an Illinois driver's license, police said. moreResolved Question: help with my Language Arts homework! (its keeping consistent tenses)?

Move over, South Beach burger joints. The King is coming. And he's got booze. Burger King announced plans Friday to open its first South Florida Whopper Bar -- a boutique version of the Miami-based fast food chain that hawks exotic recipes of its signature sandwich. The second of its kind in the country, and the first to serve up ice-cold beer, the 24-hour Whopper Bar South Beach has been in the works for several months and is set to open in February at Washington Avenue and 11th street. Burger King touts the venue as a unique hometown location on high-profile real estate, and BK is adding SoBe flavor to the new locale: Delivery men on scooters will fetch your whopper to your condo (call 531-FIRE), and beer will be sold until 5 a.m. ``It's in our backyard,'' said Jonathan Muhtar, senior director of new concept development for Burger King. ``We love the idea of having a marquis, flagship location for us in Miami that we can share with the community we grew up in.'' Analysts say Burger King's new venture is part of a recession-friendly recipe. Customers are splurging on small luxuries like a gourmet burger but are less likely to fork over big bucks for a five-star meal, and the industry has noticed. ``People aren't spending as much money,'' said Richard Lackey, a Palm Beach Gardens-based restaurant broker and consultant. ``Where today they'll be at Morton's Steakhouse, tomorrow they'll be at a Friday's or a gourmet burger bar.'' http://www.miamiherald.com/business/story/1441052.html moreResolved Question: What's Miami weather like in March?

But when McCain returned to America in 1973 to a fanfare of publicity and a handshake from Richard Nixon, he discovered his wife had been disfigured in a terrible car crash three years earlier. Her car had skidded on icy roads into a telegraph pole on Christmas Eve, 1969. Her pelvis and one arm were shattered by the impact and she suffered massive internal injuries. When Carol was discharged from hospital after six months of life-saving surgery, the prognosis was bleak. In order to save her legs, surgeons had been forced to cut away huge sections of shattered bone, taking with it her tall, willowy figure. She was confined to a wheelchair and was forced to use a catheter. Through sheer hard work, Carol learned to walk again. But when John McCain came home from Vietnam, she had gained a lot of weight and bore little resemblance to her old self. Today, she stands at just 5ft4in and still walks awkwardly, with a pronounced limp. Her body is held together by screws and metal plates and, at 70, her face is worn by wrinkles that speak of decades of silent suffering. For nearly 30 years, Carol has maintained a dignified silence about the accident, McCain and their divorce. But last week at the bungalow where she now lives at Virginia Beach, a faded seaside resort 200 miles south of Washington, she told The Mail on Sunday how McCain divorced her in 1980 and married Cindy, 18 years his junior and the heir to an Arizona brewing fortune, just one month later. My family and I are looking for a place to go for summer vacation, but we're coming up short on ideas. We've thought about Washington, New York, Arizona/desert/Grand Canyon, and California. We still want other options though. I live in Florida and I've been to the beach a bunch and I've been to Disney a thousand times, so try and make your suggestions somewhere out of Florida. moreResolved Question: what do you think of my main character + how can i improve?
The main character of my story (set in brighton) is Romilly "Romi" Grace Washington, 14. She is slim with long chestnut hair, petite features, deep blue eyes. 5'6" Quiet girl. She gets rebelious when it all gets too much. She is one of five children; three brothers and a sister. Paul - 17 James - 18 Finley - 16 and Erin - 11. Romi always seems older than she is, but that's what comes of growing up with three older brothers. She was constantly trying to be as good as them. She is usually confident in herself but her confidence is knocked easily. She likes to be the best, which is why she and her best friend Maddy are an odd pairing - Maddy is a very intelligent yet crazy girl. Romi's parents, Elina and Frederick, are both successful, busy people who don't have much time for their family life now that their kids are old enough to look after themselves. Romi's three brothers are quite close-knit but Romi never really had a relationship with them. She's fairly close to Erin, as they are quite similar (don't get on with their brothers, quiet, snap every now and then.) Romi had a normal childhood apart from her little beach escapades every so often. (Only ever seems to be on cold days; she reckons the weather affects her mood.) Whenever Romi is upset, she turns to Maddy's mother, Imogen, rather than her own. Maddy's house is like Romi's safe place when everything gets too much at home. After almost drowning, Romi develops Schizophrenia and 17 year old Angeline appears to Romi. Romi's parents never have the time to listen and Romi has long since learned to just stay in the background. She is close to her father, so if he isn't at work, she enjoys spending time with him, but her mother never had time for her, so Romi never developed a proper relationship with her. What else can I add? (personality-wise) moreResolved Question: where i can find pebbles stone in seattle or washington state?

Thank you in advance ... moreResolved Question: what do you think of plot + i need help with names please help!?
Here is the basic plot for my story (it takes place in Brighton, UK) Romilly "Romi" Washington is an unhappy almost-fifteen-year-old girl. With four siblings and overworked parents, not much attention is payed to her at home. At school, she's perfectly happy, being around her friends, but school only lasts so long. She escapes from home every now and then to walk on the beach. After Romi almost drowns, she meets Angeline (please suggest other names) who claims to be a "guardian angel" though Romi suspects she's just a friendly new girl who is wild and extravagant but keeps herself to herself at school. Romi and Angeline get on well, though Angeline claims not to get on well with Romi's best friend Madeleine (please suggest another name). A while later, Romi feels different in a bad way, it doesn't take her long after that to realise that no-one else can see Angeline. After googling Angeline's name, it turned out she had died the previous year. (help with how she died? something quite tragic please. She's 17). Romi gets a little scared then, worrying about what is wrong with her. Her school work becomes worse due to her paranoia and her parents are notified though they just tell Romi to work harder. Romi looks up hallucinations on the internet then makes an appointment with the doctor after school. It turns out that Romi's near-death experience (the drowning) caused an onset of mild Schizophrenia. Her parents are notified and Romi is prescribed medication. Her parents are upset that they didn't take her seriously. Romi gets better after a while and Angeline has since disappeared, Romi misses her. Then, Romi is in a fairly serious car crash with her mother and is secretly pleased when she wakes up in the hospital bed and sees Angeline. please help with Angeline's death, her name and Madeleine's name. Madeleine description: She has long curly red hair, pale skin, brown eyes. 5'2" Cheeky young girl, rarely serious. People mistake her to be younger than she is. She is a mix of english and spanish. Her father is English and her mother is Spanish. Siblings are: Anna-Marie and Ryan. Her mother is Lolita. Father doesn't feature much. Angeline description: Long spikey deep red hair, green eyes, tall, extremely skinny. 5'8"She died when she was 17. (4 august 2009) Younger sister, Isla, 14. Got on well with her parents and sister, average school grades. Boyfriend was Nate, 18. Her parents were Michael and Allegra. Please criticise as much as you want; I need it. moreResolved Question: what do you think of these descriptions?
Matilda "Mattie" Washington is an unhappy 14 (almost 15) year old girl. She is never paid any attention by her busy parents or her four siblings (James-18 Paul-17 Finley-16 Erin-11). She usually stays up in her room (in the attic of their Brighton house which she converted into her little room). Every now and then, she goes for a walk along the beach and always ends up going swimming.Slim, long chestnut hair, petite features, sharp deep blue eyes. 5'6" Quiet girl. She gets rebelious when it all gets too much. Neveah "Nay" Prince is a 17 year old "friend" of Mattie's. She comes to Mattie the day after Mattie almost drowns, claiming to be a guardian angel when in fact she is a figment of Mattie's imagination. (The near drowning caused an onset of Schizophrenia). Long spikey deep red hair, green eyes, tall, extremely skinny. 5'8" She died when she was 17. Pepita "Peppie" Soto is Mattie's best friend who is always there for her. She is 15, but looks a lot younger. They have been best friends for 7 years. They fall out sometimes, but not very regularly and very rarely over something worth falling out over. She has long curly dark red hair, pale skin, brown eyes. 5'2" Cheeky young girl, rarely serious. She is half spanish on her dad's side and half english on her mum's side. Think Paloma Faith miniature version.nevaeh is called Nevaeh because it is heaven backwards and she is at first believed to be an angel. Pepita is just a cute Spanish name. May well be changed over the course of the story. moreVoting Question: Where can I find lumber that I can use for a bow?

Matilda "Mattie" Washington, 14 and Nevaeh "Nay" Prince, 17 meet on a chilly January morning, the day after Mattie almost drowns. Mattie is led to believe that Nay is her guardian angel (Nay died four months ago). Little does Mattie know that it's much deeper than that. You could say, Nay was a part of her... Time is running short; will Mattie figure it out before it's too late? Is it real or all in Mattie's head? here are some descriptions for Mattie and Nay Matilda "Mattie" Washington, 14 (almost 15) is the main character. She is one of five children; she has three older brothers and a younger sister. Her parents are far too busy to pay adequate attention to all of their children. She is slim with long chestnut hair, petite features and deep blue eyes. Usually, she is quiet and just goes on with her life amidst the chaos of her big family, but every now and then, it gets too much so she walks up and down the beach for hours, it tends to be raining but there are always a few other people there. She loves to go swimming. She lives in Brighton. Nevaeh "Nev" Washington, 17, is also a main character. She has long, deep-red (dyed) hair that is jaggedly cut. Her eyes are stunning green and she is painfully skinny. She died four months before the story setting. She had a brother and a sister, and eccentric parents. She tells Mattie that she is a "guardian angel" (hence the first name) but would rather be called a friend. She is sent for Mattie, after Mattie almost drowns. It is revealed by the end of the story that Nev is not in fact a guardian angel but something quite different and potentially life-threatening for Mattie. (nothing like a devil or a vampire, something not human, more something of Mattie's mental state if you get what I mean.) feel free to ask any questions :) moreResolved Question: what do you think of these names?

Jo-Ann Armao offers an opinion at the Washington Post's blog: Obama wants us all to know he’s taking seriously the attempted terrorist attack of Christmas Day and that his administration is doing all it can to ensure our safety. But his words would be a lot more convincing if not delivered during time snatched between rounds of golf, swimming and sunbathing. ... Returning to Washington would have sent the world a powerful message of a president willing to drop everything and roll up his sleeves -- someone who really means business. It also would have set an example for the federal officials and workers charged with carrying out our national security policy. I can’t imagine Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano initially being so sanguine about the system working if her boss had hotfooted it back to the Oval Office to personally check up on things. Work situations vary, sure, but in my experience there’s always a lot less pressure when the boss is away. By staying in Hawaii, [Obama] has sent the message that the situation really isn’t all that serious, that things can proceed just fine until he’s back. And isn’t it that kind of reasoning that emboldens our never-vacationing enemies into thinking Christmas Day is the perfect time for them to strike?Last year he was vacationing in Hawaii at this time too. Even though he was not sworn in, since he had won election we paid most of the associated costs. He also made a short side trip to toss his Grandma's ashes to the wind. She had died back before the election, two months prior, but the dear boy hadn't found any time to travel there for a funeral until his vacation gave him an excuse.Juan, compadre-mi, long time no see! Let me ask you -- if the Saudi's paid 1 billion plus for a Bush, do you think they would accept being out of the loop under Obama. Why by your metric -- the Saudis would pay Obama at least twice that! Look how Obama bowed to the Royal! That's a "gee thanks my benefactor" bow. The recently deceased Percy Sutton claims to have been the go-between for Saudi assistance to Obama, in getting into Columbia and Harvard Law. The way that would work, I presume, is Percy would knock on doors to say take this Obama and then my princely oil buds will endow a few chairs and such. moreVoting Question: Funny Yo Momma Jokes...Add your own..Best never heard before gets 10 pts?

I’m currently a college student living in Tampa, FL at my parent’s house while I am getting my degree. I am almost finished with school and I was thinking of cities I would like to move to, because Tampa is not a place I like very much. Tampa isn’t a place where you can get around without a car like you can in Boston, New York City, or any other major cities up north. This is a major importance to me, because I don’t like to drive. If I could I wouldn’t drive. Tampa’s is lacking in public transportation. I don’t see them doing anything about it either, because people here aren’t really willing to invest in a good public transportation system (they like their cars too much). There really isn’t that much to do here too, well what I like to do. The only thing to do here really isn’t something I enjoy doing. That is going to the beach. I am not found of doing that because I hate getting all sandy and burnt (curse my Irish skin). What I am looking in a city other than public transportation is good shopping, safety, cold climate, something in the U.S. or Canada, has to be pretty dense, and has an artistic community in some part of the city. Also, I love mom and pop restaurants. The city that is on top of my list is Boston. The reason for this is because I am originally from Boston, so I know the city very well. I also love the climate, I love the Red Sox, and I love how easy it is to get around without a car. Did I also mention the clam chowder is to die for! Also my whole family lives there (besides my parents). I’ve also done some research on Brooklyn, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Toronto, Buffalo, Detroit, Providence, Chicago, San Francisco, and last but not least Seattle. I like what I have read on all of these cities. What I want to know is do you have any more suggestions or think that some of the cities that I listed I probably wouldn’t end up liking? If so please feel free to tell me so!I have been saving for quite some time now and have $10,000 saved (saving all of my pay check beside the money put aside for bills). That's why I chose to live with my parents while going to college. I did that because I know the economy sucks and I would need some money saved away just in-case I lost my job or whatever. Thanks for your concerns on me not being able to find a job where I want to go, I thought of that. That’s the reason why I saved the money by living with my parents. moreResolved Question: Is anyone flying out of Washington Dulles to Long Beach CA on Wednesday the 23rd?

I know its a bit early but I'm going to have to stretch my budget as far as it will go. We are going to go to Forks Washington in May for the Twilight tour (I know, nerdy and over the top but what can I say?? lol) My hubby is indulging me for our anniversary We are either driving or flying. My husband would rather fly but I'm thinking there has to be something along the way to make a whole trip out of it. I hate flying and avoid it if I can! Is there anything fun/cool/interesting from Salt Lake City to Forks Washington? Its a LONG drive so there has to be some interesting places! Willing to go a little out of the way for things that are worth it! Also if you know of anything to do around/by Forks that would be great also! I know there is the beach and of course the Twilight tour but I don't think there is much else there! Except the Forest which my hubby is SO excited about! Thanks for any advice! moreResolved Question: Who has been to Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast?
I just got back from there last week and I am so amazed at how beautiful it is there. It was my first time going to the Oregon Coast and I couldn't believe what a different type coast it is compared to the Washington Coast. What do you think of the Oregon Coast? What is your favorite beach town/community? Do you like the smaller towns or the bigger cities? I loved Cannon Beach because it was so small and quaint. Also tell me what you love about the cities or towns that you love there. moreResolved Question: Where are there some nice places to camp in Washington State?

Every December, sometime on a random weekend (not Christmas break) my family and I go somewhere for a Christmas outing. I have lots of siblings ranging from 6-15 and I'm 18. Then there's my dad and my stepmother and my fiance. We live in New Jersey and we usually go somewhere in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, even Washington or Delaware. Last year we went to Smithville in New Jersey. Smithville is a shopping place with all these cute Christmas-like outlets that sell little knickknacks and stuff. THe year before that we went to Pettlers Village in New Jersey which is just like Smithville. The year before that we went to some place in Pennsylvania. It was some kind of Christmas workshop. It was cute. The year before that we went to New York City and saw the Rockettes/went skating/shopping/looked at the tree at Rockefeller Center/etc. The year before that we went to this light show in Washington DC. You get the point. Everyone wants to go to NYC except for my dad's new wife. My mom used to love NYC before she passed away and we'd go all the time. Well, Shannon (my stepmom) HATES New York City and won't go. SO we all have to think of another place. What is a place around where I said that has to do with Christmas. NO BEACHES/TROPICAL WEATHER/SUNSHINE! Where is a place that would fit in my list of places for Christmas? It should be at least a half and hour away. moreResolved Question: what percent of the following cities are homeless?

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-fed-ads26-2009nov26,0,2775391.story Federal Reserve tries theater ads to burnish its image Spots urging shoppers to use their credit cards wisely will be shown on big screens in 12 U.S. cities. The central bank has long been accused of neglecting its consumer protection duties. Reporting from Washington - The Federal Reserve isn't too popular these days, what with its failure to predict or prevent the financial crisis and recession, not to mention its involvement in last year's bailouts. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) has a bestselling book out called "End the Fed," and some lawmakers are looking to cut back the central bank's power. It sounds like a perfect time for an ad campaign. The Fed has made a 45-second public service announcement to help consumers use their credit cards wisely. The spot will run before movie previews at theaters in 12 U.S. cities, including Long Beach, from Friday through Dec. 3. Over jazzy music, the announcer asks: "Want to use your credit card wisely? Here are some tips you can trust from the Federal Reserve." With the Fed logo featured prominently, the ad offers suggestions such as paying your bill on time and watching for changes in the terms of the account. Wow, looks like they are really busting out the PR stunts these days. I guess those Ron Paul supporters and libertarians aren't so wacko after all moreVoting Question: Where should I move for a new start?
Im looking to spread my wings and find myself and need help choosing what city I should move to. I am looking for a place that's surrounded by artistic influences, hot summers, beaches, affordable-cost-of living, pet friendly, thriving nightlife, relatively easy employment opp's, and nice friendly people. I like the city and excitement, and also enjoy a chill atmosphere with a 420-friendly demographic. I left my predictable, safe, comfortable life and in order to travel and be a drifter for awhile. Im leaving with the bare necessities, a few hundred bucks, and a lot of fear of the unknown. Im starting with nothing, leaving all my friends, family, drama, and baggage in order to live the life I want and become the person I want to be. This is a big risk but I hope to find myself along the way, meet some people, take new opportunities, and see where life takes me. I currently live near SF in CA, and some cities Im considering: Long Beach, CA El Cajon, CA Tampa, FL Miami,FL Houston, TX LA, CA SD, CA Washington, DC SFO, CA Where would you recommend, why, and any info would be helpful! Id really also love to hear from people who made a fresh start and have some advice. moreResolved Question: Can you tell me a few things about Seattle Washington please?
I love mountains, ocean, trees, rain and clouds along with a big city environment. Seattle seems to offer me a bit of everything. Can you tell me a bit about Seattle though and the surrounding areas? I've got a few questions. What is the must do activity in Seattle, that Seattle is most known for? What are some good restraunts that offers that Northwest kick? Best food? Where is the best place to live in Seattle? How far are the mountains and some camping areas? Mt Rainer included. How far is the ocean, and which beach is the best to visit? Is Mercer Island a good place to live? What are YOUR favorite places in Seattle, or favorite activities? Thanks much, you'll be a great help. moreResolved Question: Washington State Questions!?
So i am looking for four year universities, and i want to move out of California. it is just to congested and many people are coming over from everywhere. I LOVE the rain and cold so much. I am looking maybe to go to Washington, but where ever i go i HAVE to be by the beach, what cities are rainy constantly, but along the beach, and has more of maybe a "Twilight Saga" feel. i mean by that, like not to many people live there, and to go have fun you have to go to the cities, but i know i would have to drive a distance to get to school. My main questions are: -What cities in WA have constant rain but are close to the beach? -Are there any town(like forks) in WA that are not to far from a big city? -What cities in WA are along the beach with constant rain but are like no more than 40 minutes from a big city? - Is there any big cities where it is rainy constantly but is no more than 50 minutes from a beach? -Are small condo/town homes cheap over in WA? And if you could help me find any four year universities with my desired wanting(in my questions above) that would be FAB! Thank you SO much! moreResolved Question: What kind of road bike should I buy?
I'm going to start training for a 120 mile ride from washington, dc to Bethany beach. I'm just getting into cycling because some of my friends have ridden in this race before. I'm the kind of person that once I get into something new I tend to stick with it so I would be fine spending a little more money for a nicer bike that will last me awhile and will still be good for me after I've gotten better and get more into it. What should I be looking for in a bike and what are some good brands? If I live in DC would it be smart to just ask people who work at one of the many local bike shops what they think I should get? moreResolved Question: Are there any Big and Tall stores in Portland Oregon or Vancouver Washington area?
I'm looking for some big and tall stores mainly in the Vancouver Washington area. I know of the big and tall on Jantzen Beach but they're quite expensive and I'd like other places to shop. I usually wear 4xl-5xl sizes so if anyone can help that'd be excellent. Thanks! moreResolved Question: Help, ADD, Depression, Lost, not enjoying things.?
I been on Vyvanse for almost a year now, i get the seem side effects, I'm on 50MG now, it feels good the first 4-5 but then I go into depression + irritability for 3-4 hours then i feel disconnected from people and very tired. i noticed it didn't help me with motivation, and i feel i lost the word enjoying things. Don’t feel like i want to read or do things. Even things i used to like to do. I don't like going out any more because nothing interests me. I'm doing things because to do it and i don't do it in my own, I depend on people to tell me what to do. i'm not sure what to do any more. is it me? i feel sometimes my brain is dead and not working. my memory sucks big time. I miss place things and forget to do things even easy things at work. I tried Adderall but had really bad bad bad side effects. Vyvanse was least side effects. some people told me you might have depression or because you are working 12 hours night shift 3.5 days a week. I cant read and learn on my own, i have to be in class to make myself learn new things. reading things take me long time. I buy books to learn and improve my skills i read couple chapters then leave it and tell myself i will get back to it later but i never do. my home office is messy and my computer hasn’t been working for a while even that I'm System Engineer. my home theater cables are messy and not correct and tell myself i will do them tomorrow then i never do. I day dream a lot trillions things at same time, When i do a mistake at work i feel made and depressed. I feel I'm Dum and stupid and not able to accomplish things. If i learned new things at work or in school I FORGET what I learned after few weeks. going back for what I learned and read and it feels like this the first time I'm learning it therefore I give up. I used to love to go out and travel but not anymore. i don’t feel adventures or outgoing. I always day dream about setting on sunny beach looking toward the ocean. even lost interest in sex, I prefer to watch porn than having sex because i don't feel like having sex. I will be in a conference call and lose in touch with people. I have to ask people twice what they asked me because i don't get it or I forgot what they asked. The whole thing is affecting my work performance, I'm not able to improve myself or move up because of this. i tend to do least thing that is required from me to do and not put a full work to it. i don’t have trust in myself any more. Even sometimes I think I could be a really good knowledgeable person that people could refer to. i don't have trust in myself to ask questions afraid from people thinking I'm being Dum, and afraid to ask question because I'm afraid that I asked it few times before but i forgot the answer. i even forget if i asked that question before or not. sometimes I'm like a baby you have to hold my hand and show me how things are done few times for me to learn. If i go on vacation with my family I don’t feel like doing things but I'm doing it because of my family. example, I went to Washington DC sooo many times may be twice a year for the past 3 years, I never done anything there just family reunion, i never visited the white house or any museum or any land marks. I tell myself i would do that next I'm there but I never do. sorry for the long writing. What I said above with Vyvanse or without. ADD medication helped only for first 3 -4 hours moreTop Washington Beaches Links
