Resolved Question: Has anyone ever stayed at an Extended Stay Hotel? I'm wanting to know if their housekeeping is included.?
I am looking to stay here in Orlando, FL on a short vacation and I am reading reviews on Hotels.com and it looks like their housekeeping is extra. Anyone know?? moreResolved Question: What is with the websites for businesses in Northern Maine?
I am trying to find temporary and permanent lodging in Aroostook County and I have had a very difficult time even finding any websites for these businesses much less helpful ones. The "newspapers" online have no classified sections online and the front page article for one paper was about "the mark of the beast". The apartment communities do not have their own websites and they are not listed in forrent.com or apartmentguide.com. The hotels which advertise extended stay do not even know what the term really means (weekly rates- which they do not offer). Are the people in Aroostook county like that movie The Village or what? I still have time to change my mind about taking a job offer there and I am getting the impression these people have never heard of the internet and don't care too. I live in a small town in Texas and everyone here uses the internet about as much as your average American, so what's the deal? Are Mainers "all there"? Ya know...mentally? moreResolved Question: Expedia.com and Hilton Hawaiian Village/Honolulu?
Through Expedia.com,I booked reservations for 2 beach front rooms at the Hilton Hawaiian in Honolulu. When we arrived, we stood in line 45 minutes at reservation desk only to be told they gave our rooms to someone who wanted to extend their stay. Management told us they'd put us up in another hotel and the entire stay would be free, Hilton would pay for it. Of course we were lied to. FIrst part of our stay we were put up in a hotel with a view of a parking lot and low rent apartments. Rest of the stay was in a nice hotel - no beach view. Hilton charged our card for 2 beachfront rooms at the Hilton. Expedia won't do anything and won't post my review on their website. Beware...They only post the positive reviews so the consumer doesn't get the real truth. We could hardly afford the trip, a once in a lifetime thing. Thanks, Hilton and Expedia.com. I hope Paris has enough shoes for this week. moreResolved Question: Staying at Hilton Hawaiian Village & Resort in Honolulu?

For reasons beyond my control, in less than three days time, I am about to find myself in Portland without a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. We have a little money saved up, my husband and I, but not enough to afford housing. Just enough to cover food and transportation for about a month. This was very sudden for us all! The steps I have taken are: 1) I've called different shelters and I am on a couple of waiting lists. If it were just me, I would camp out at a park or something equally adventurous. But, we have a three year old with us that wouldn't do so well in Portland’s cold, so that is obviously out. I did look into cheap apartments and people needing roommates, in addition to extended stay hotels through Craig’s List and the Portland online newspaper. But without more money to start up with, I have just found it to be out of our income range at present moment. 2) I’ve also downloaded Health and Human Services forms for assistance with health care, food, and daycare needs. When I arrive, the first stop I plan on making is Portland’s downtown office to drop everything off and check out my options. I‘ve even located all necessary documentation into a very handy, extremely organized folder to make the interview process go as smoothly as possible. I’ve tried very hard to dot all of my i’s and cross all my t’s before we leave. (I am calling WIC tomorrow to set up an appoitment) 3) Still, I wasn’t able to give my job enough notice to transfer properly, so I am leaving without a job (although we‘re still on good terms). And my husbands job doesn’t even transfer at all (no matter how much they adore the man!). So, we have uploaded our resumes to Yahoo! Jobs, Monster.Com, and I’ve posted a couple of classifieds on MySpace. I’ve also been calling around to local businesses to see who is hiring and who is not. So, we are both looking for jobs right now. Okay, so my question is this. Does anyone have any legitimate, factual information about options open to a family in my situation or things we can do now to possibly make this huge transition more productive? I stress the hard-facts-end of things, because I really don't need to have someone lecture me on why going is a bad idea or how stupid I am for making this kind of move. I appreciate your opinions, but right now I really need something a little more concrete... What I am hoping to find out is perhaps a step I’ve missed or an avenue of action that I haven’t even considered. If anyone knows anything pertinent about Portland that they might want to pass on, I would appreciate that as well. I’ve printed every map and gotten every number to the Public Transportation that I can get my hands on, but there’s much more that needs to be done! moreResolved Question: Looking for a site to find and compare prices at extended stay hotels in south tx?

Anybody knows of any furnished suites/apartments in Houston, TX? I need to stay there for a month or so, but I am looking for something cheaper than, say, Residence Inn, Extended Stay America, Oakwood, Hawthorn Suites, AmeriSuites, Candlewood Suites, etc. I am looking for something along the lines of "Budget Suites of America" [www.budgetsuites.com] where they have a weekly rate of about $199.00 in Dallas and San Antonio, TX. Me, my husband, and 2 kids are going to California for a week this summer. We are planning to visit San Diego Zoo, the Disney parks, Universal Studios, and Hollywood. My thought is to fly into San Diego, rent a car, go to the zoo, then drive to the Anaheim/LA area for the week, and fly home from LA. I would like to find a hotel room with a kitchen for a good rate (so we don't have to eat out every meal for a week). I usually use priceline or hotels.com when I book hotel rooms, but they don't give you the option to choose a room with a kitchen. Anyone have any ideas... or other tips for our trip. This is our first trip to CA (from TX). The girls are 12 and 3. Thanks in advance for any info/tips you can offer. moreResolved Question: hotel for extended stay?
