moreResolved Question: Broke up with my girlfriend. Any ideas on where I should live?
PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
so i just broke up with my girlfriend. right now we live together and I graduate in 1 month. I need to live somewhere for 1 month prior to graduating before I can move back home. all my family and friends are in chicago and i'm in philadelphia, so i don't have anyone to turn to. Also, extended stay hotels are too expensive for me and no apartment will rent me space for just a month. i dont want to ask her to move out b/c i just turned her life upside down and i think that was damaging enough.
any ideas?

I have a friend whose lease has expired on her apartment but who needs to stay in Chicago another couple of months. I don't live there and she has no friends to stay with. How would she go about finding a two month lease in an apartment or condo somewhere in Chicago? Are there such things? She's looked into extended stay hotels but those are $80 a night - way too much.
moreResolved Question: Chicago Getaway?
This weekend I will be traveling for work to Chicago. The first night I will be staying at Olympia Fields and the second night at the University Club of Chicago.
I would like to extend the trip one more night on my own dollar and was wondering if anyone can reccomend a hotel for my husband and I that is fun, clean and affortable. I am thinking under $200.00.
I looked at all the travel websites, but it is different when you hear from those who have been there or know the area.
We are in our late 20's and again are just looking for something different from the norm.
Thanks!!
moreResolved Question: A friend evicted, car broke down, bad luck? Should I help her AGAIN!!!?
I have a friend who got evicted, her car broke down while she was at the store buying clothes instead of paying rent, and she got her car repo'd so I let her use one of mines. I gave her a few dollars for her pocket and she paid me back so all is good on that note.
Well.... now shes in trouble AGAIN!!! This time she is living in extended stay america hotel and one of her boyfriends was paying for it but he got locked up for DUI and she cant afford it because she quit her job a few weeks ago. She has nowhere to go, should I pay the bill, let her live here, or let her experience lifes downfalls? She has no family out here, theyre all in chicago?
moreResolved Question: Chicago hotel help please?
My wife and myslef will be going to Chicago for an extended weekend to see Wicked, shop on the Magnificent Mile and see all the normal touristey stuff. What I would like to know is if anyone can recommend a hotel that is in a great location for what we want to do. I would love to stay on the Magnificent Mile, but I don't wanna drop a large portion of our money on the room. I am not familiar with the workings of the city transportation, such as the "L" (I think) buses etc. I wouldn't mind a hotel within a 10 minute walk or so of a major hub of the city transportation and then have like a 20 minute ride to the "major" areas. I assume taxis are expensive and parking for my own car to be as well and difficult to find. I appreciate any help anyone has that can point me in the right direction of a nice hotel that isn't on Donald Trump's budget...hopefully under $200 a night, but prefer lower if possible.
Thanks in advance, Sean
moreResolved Question: Does anyone know of any hotel discount or promo codes or free night stay codes for hotels in chicago?

moreResolved Question: Moving from Dallas to Chicago..have I missed anything?
I plan to move from Dallas to Chicago next month. I was laid off from my job, now collecting UIB. I have visited on several occassions but do not have any friends nor relatives up there. I have researched neighborhoods, began looking for new employment online. I am planning a pre-move trip at the end of the month. My question is this: I do not have a college degree, but I do have a Class A CDL (w/ HAZMAT) and I have an extensive background in customer service, hotels, call centers. Will I be able to find employment say within about a month or so. I am planning to stay at either the YMCA or one of those Extended Stay America hotels until I find a job, and then can find an apartment. Also, I am thinking about selling my car...is this a good idea? Is public transportation really that dependable? So, any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I have always wanted to move to Chicago..this is the last month on my lease, I have no job..ready or not Chicago here I come!!
