Extended Stay Hotels In Texas Questions asked

Voting Question: Temporary housing in Fort Knox/Louisville?

I am marrying my fiancee in just over 2 weeks. He is a soldier stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Because the Army is the way it is, the soonest we could get on base housing would be 6 months. I cannot stay with him in the barracks, even though we will be married. The only temporary housing we have found has a minimum of 3 months. We will only need it for 1 month. I will have to return to Texas to work after that. We did find EXTREMELY sketchy extended stay hotels on the south side of Louisville. We didn't feel safe there. Does anybody know of anything that would work? We looked on Craiglist.com to no real solution. My fiancee refuses to do any roommate situation for our first month of marriage. We are looking at spending well over $1500 for just one month! And that's on top of my rent I'll be paying for my place in Texas. I'm a teacher and he is an enlisted soldier. Any credible suggestion on what to do would be helpful. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: How much money do I need for 3 months in America?

Hi there, I'm planning on travelling to Nashville, Tennessee (at least, that's where I want to start out) next summer for a few months and I just wondered what amount of money I should be taking. I plan to get a job out there, as I'm not entirely sure whether I want to return to the UK afterwards. I would also like to extend my travels to Kentucky and Texas, just to explore. Basically, the information I would really like to know is: a) how much money to take with me b) whether to rent an apartment or stay in a hotel/hostel c) whether to buy a car or travel by public transport My ultimate plan is to get a job in the music industry out there, but I know that's a little far-fetched at the moment, so the short-term plan is to go out next summer and make some connections, which is why I need to start planning now! Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Steph x more

Resolved Question: Should I let go of my dream and move on?

Just wondering if you where me would you stay or go? In 2006 in Texas I had a spiritual awakening..I had been fasting from media, food, water, and sleep...and starting speaking in tongues on the 7th day and had a vision of a house with Nome's and fairies and and a labyrinth and merlin the wizard had came to visit me with a white owl and told me that if I connected the past with the present that I would build a spiritual retreat that my family would teach at. Merlin told me about Terah dying in Haran and how my family was connected to Abraham in the bible. Our last name is Teran. The visions went on for hours. I went to my husband and he at the time thought I had gone mad. This was the first time I had ever fasted and I did it on my own so I thought this is what happened to everyone. I tried to go to the library and research this after it happened and found no answers. I let it go and 3 years had passed and one night at 2 am I was awakened by a voice that told me to look up our last name Teran on google and go to page 6 on there I found a website called talk to Teran. I got goose bumps from head to toe. The owners of the website had a spiritual retreat for sale called Circle of Teran in Ashland Oregon. They had just built it a few years before. On the property the have a labyrinth like the one I had in my vision and had a room called Merlin's sanctuary with white owls, and a fairy room, all the visions I had where actually a place in Ashland Oregon. NOt only was the property named our last name Teran but where it is located Ashland is my 10 year old daughters name. Well her name is Ashland which means dream. I was going to name her Ashland but at the time of her birth I changed it cause I thought it was corny to have A daughter named Ashland and another daughter named Ireland. So i did more research on the property that night and found out the property was previously owed by the Ireland's and the Circle of Teran ranch was formerly Ireland ranch. I immediately got my husband and showed him all the connections and at that moment he knew everything I had told him 3 years prior was true. He said we are supposed to move there.. So we packed up our 6 kids, the parrot, the dog, the cat, the frogs, the turtles, the ferret, and the snake and set out for Ashland Oregon in September 2009. We knew it would take some time to get the money together for the property. At the same time that we felt led to this property my husband was placed in front of several big life changing deals. There were two separate partners with several different deals (Let's call them Partner A and Partner B). If just one of these deals were to go through we would have enough to accomplish purchasing the property. So, we moved to Oregon on the faith and hope that this was our path. When we get to Oregon partner A continues promising us a payout out week after week but it never comes. Although, we made the move up to Oregon and now are in a position with no steady income, we have reached a critical point. We have ran out of money till the other partner B's deals pay. So we are wondering what to do now? We are currently staying in a extended stay hotel and we have to check out in 2 days do to running out of funds. Partner B deals are supposed to pay in 2 weeks. BUt what is a family of 8 with all these animals supposed to do until then? Do I give up on all this and go back to Texas? I dont even know how we would get back to Texas..We are so close to the finish line but I am so scared of the idea of living in the car.. I dont know who to turn to.. Any idea's??I am 30 years old my husband is 37 and we have 3 daughters ages 13, 10, 5 and 3 sons ages 3 years old and 2 years old and a 11 month old.the property is 14.6 millions dollars. more

Resolved Question: What is with the websites for businesses in Northern Maine?

I am trying to find temporary and permanent lodging in Aroostook County and I have had a very difficult time even finding any websites for these businesses much less helpful ones. The "newspapers" online have no classified sections online and the front page article for one paper was about "the mark of the beast". The apartment communities do not have their own websites and they are not listed in forrent.com or apartmentguide.com. The hotels which advertise extended stay do not even know what the term really means (weekly rates- which they do not offer). Are the people in Aroostook county like that movie The Village or what? I still have time to change my mind about taking a job offer there and I am getting the impression these people have never heard of the internet and don't care too. I live in a small town in Texas and everyone here uses the internet about as much as your average American, so what's the deal? Are Mainers "all there"? Ya know...mentally? more

Resolved Question: Would I be granted emancipation?

I'm currently residing in las vegas, nevada with my parents. now my parents constantly fight and my mother always threatens to leave. my dad is an extreme alcoholic and my mother is actually bi-polar. i'm having some troubles with the school that i go to. and cant change schools. i just moved here about a year ago from texas. where most of my family lives. my siblings are more than happy to take me in. they'd rather have me than make me put up with my parents. and they and i feel i am not getting adequate education with this school system. i also do not live in a home and am not a nevada citizen im currently living in an extended stay hotel. i am a texas citizen. would i be able to emancipated or would they turn my petition down? is there some way around this? Resolved Question: Interested in building a small hotel in SW Austin, how much capital do I need and what do I need to know?

I am interested in opening a small hotel in Southwest Austin. With the amount of growth in Circle-C and surrounding areas it always startled me that the only hotels in business are the La Quinta and Extended Stay America near MOPAC and 290, the new Holiday Inn Express in Sunset Valley and the old Texas Motel. With the hundreds of residence in Circle-C, plus Freescale and now AMD moving in, it seems like accomidations are a massive shortage. I would like to capitalize on this, does anyone know what it takes in terms of required capital, seeking approval from the county, etc. I am thinking 290 West in Hayse county or closer in to the "Y" in Oak Hill. more

Resolved Question: Help - I need to stay in Central Texas for 1 week!?

Okay so my family needs to visit several awesome universities/colleges in the Great state of Texas to help my daughter decide where to go to college. I will need to visit Austin, San Antonio, Waco, College Station, Houston, Dallas & Ft.Worth. I have just about decided to stay in an extended stay hotel probably in Austin. I want to stay somewhere inexpensive ( 50 to 75 per night max for 5 days ) but somewhere I don't have to worry about my vehicle being safe, etc. I understand to avoid east Austin - it seems like Round Rock is an Austin Suburb and very safe? Can anybody offer any suggestions? I have already looked at extended stay motel websites - but obviously they don't answer the questions I really need answered. If there is somewhere else you would recommend - please advise. Any help would be highly appreciated! more

Resolved Question: Furnished Suites in Houston, TX?

Anybody knows of any furnished suites/apartments in Houston, TX? I need to stay there for a month or so, but I am looking for something cheaper than, say, Residence Inn, Extended Stay America, Oakwood, Hawthorn Suites, AmeriSuites, Candlewood Suites, etc. I am looking for something along the lines of "Budget Suites of America" [www.budgetsuites.com] where they have a weekly rate of about $199.00 in Dallas and San Antonio, TX. Any Texas natives know of anything like that? Something that isn't a big, expensive hotel chain? Preferably not infested with roaches/rodents or in a rough neighborhood... And yes, I'm checking Craigslist every day. Thanks!! more
