Extended Stay Palm Springs Questions asked

Resolved Question: Can someone please tell me what this poem means?

A jeweled day Here it's a misty morning where Dixie shines through grays Its like a spring time blossom, not like a summer's day The sun is on the other side just like a bright new smile Except for cloaks of milky foam it'd be a day so fine Now and then a sparkle , a string all golden bred Shoots through like jeweled silk strung out on liquid thread It rains a mist of silver and when a palm extends It dresses down the fingers and to the heart extends Funny how a day becomes much more for a thought When beads of fluid love is palmed , caressed, absorbed and caught Weekend days in Dixie , all warm and not forgotten Another memory stays with me... steeped in gentle cotton Dressed in kind with softness close against the flesh Emotionally enamored by days that seem to mesh The likeness of yesterday, the dejavu of bliss I love the dreary days like this and all the times I missed Wallowing indoors, rummaging through old things Opening up rusted tears upon awakening old dreams. Resolved Question: Could someone help me with my book?

Earlier i posted a question asking about irish slang for an irish character in my story. Well i finished writing the part he's in so far and if you could read it over and make sure it doesn't sound too over done which i think it might. If it does, tell me which places need changing or what a word should be swithced to, or any words that should be added. Also any critiquing would be lovely. Be completely honest please. thank you “Aw Trissy!” The man yelled in a heavy Irish accent. He walked towards with his arms extended out, “Come here, you,” he ordered, smiling impishly. Tristan sighed, smiling too, and sprung to his feet, “Liam.” His tone was incredulous. The man named Liam crossed the strides between them and took Tristan roughly. His hand smacked against Tristan’s back as he guffawed. Liam was very tall; as tall as Tristan. His hair was a light, light chestnut; sort of rusty. And his eyes were a startling green that I could see from where I sat. But the thing that stood out the most about Liam was his size. Not quite as large as a body builder, but man, he was built. “What about you, you son of a gun?” Liam released him, smirking hugely. “I’m great.” Tristan chuckled, still shaking his head, “Liam, what are you doing here?” “Oh, pardon my manners, should I have rung you?” Liam ribbed. “Liam.” Tristan pushed his shoulder. “I’m here…” he took a strange pause, seeming to stumble for a moment but moved on quickly, “B-because I’m here, you nit! To see my Trissy! Always up for the crack when y’around.” “How did you know we were here?” Tristan asked. “Y’dad told me. I talked to him after I got off the bloody plane. Those contraptions are fecking deathtraps, I tell you.” “Still afraid of heights, I see.” Tristan chuckled. “With good reason.” Liam snapped, “And, oh. You should’a heard the mouths on this group of Americans in the airport. Gritty little things. The size of my arm, they were. Rambling on and on, f this and f that. There were elderly women around, for Christ’s sake.” Liam shook his head in disappointment. Tristan rolled his eyes, “You're not exactly one to talk, Liam.” Liam glared, “Hey, I control my tongue around Nan.” Tristan shrugged. “Anyways,” Liam opened his arms invitingly. “Like y’present?” Tristan laughed, “Is there a receipt?” “Oh, shut it, you twit. Now, are you going to introduce me to y’lady friend, or not?” Tristan didn’t answer him right away but after a short moment, Liam nodded and winked exaggeratedly so I thought that Tristan must have said something to him but I couldn’t see Tristan’s face and it was too quiet for me to hear. I did however hear him answer, “I’m serious.” Threateningly, a few seconds after the wink. Then he turned to me, “This is Anabell.” Liam appraised me overtly with a crooked smile on his lips. “Well. Hello there, madam.” His Irish accent was extra strong as he greeted me. He halfway bowed, never breaking my gaze. Tristan groaned. “So lovely to meet you. You can call me, Liam.” He said, straightening up. I smiled, “It’s nice to meet you, too, Liam.” Liam eyed Tristan—who was staring at him tired and incredulous—suggestively, then held my gaze again. He winked subtly. I giggled. Tristan sighed, “Liam, it’s always great to see you and I assume you’ll be staying with us?” “Of course. I haven’t a dime on me.” “In that case, you wouldn’t mind getting lost.” Tristan surmised in contrastingly polite tone. “Don’t say that because of me!” I interceded, “Really, I don’t mind if Liam stays.” Liam grimaced at Tristan, “She doesn’t mind.” “I do.” Tristan concluded, grinning, “So if you wouldn’t mind.” He repeated. Liam took a dramatic step back with his palms raised, “Hey. Careful now. I gotcha, brother.” He started farther and farther away and then started laughing, “You dog, Trissy.” “Now, Liam.” Tristan was getting irritated. “Cool your knickers. I’m going, I’m going. Hope to see you again soon, dearest Anabell.” He was facing us as he backed away. more

Resolved Question: We are going to San Diego for Spring Break. I'm concerned about the weather.?

The extended forecast says it will remain in the 60's. The weather may be warmer than that in the Midwest! How much of a hassle would it be to drive further east into one of the desert communities to stay at a resort? The forecast there calls for 80's. We want to do things around San Diego, but our kids want to swim. And we don't want to spend Spring Break with long sleeves. Are there nice resorts with great pool areas where it would be warmer. How far of a drive would it be to say Borrego Springs or Palm Springs? Help! more
