Resolved Question: I want arrested at the beach wrong time mean police?
Hello my name is Elinor. I am a girl and I was arrested last week one off the most weird days ever happened to me. I live in Florida and it was very nice weather outside so we decided to have a party with a few friends. We bought some beer and other drinks to have a good time. When we went there I had no ID with me I am 19 years old. I had a few drinks I was walking down to my car when a police car shows up. When they saw me they told me that they want to talk to me. They asked if I was drinking I said yes. (I would never lie to a police officer and I never had a record in my life.) He said that he was going to arrest me for public intoxication and underage drinking. At that moment I got really scared. He went to his car and got a pair off handcuffs. I told him I was sorry and I wont do it again he did not listen. The problem was that this was a beach party and I had my bikini on. I told him that my clothes was in my car and if I could change. He said you cant do that. So he put me in these black hinged handcuffs in front off me really tight and put me in a back off a police car. We drove off to the station. The lady at the station was very nice she gave a inmate uniform so i could cover up. I was released the next day. Do you think this is right off the police to do this? To arrest me while I asked him nicely if i could change and that he put the handcuffs very tight on me? moreResolved Question: In the state if Florida can you be arrested for being drunk under 21?

So I'm planning to move to Florida from England. Me and a friend I've been speaking to for around 5 years ended up falling in love and we want to get married. When I was 9 I went to Florida on holiday with my family and my dad got arrested there for drink driving and he didn't turn up for court and just returned to the UK. I haven't seen my dad for around 6 years now. I know his name and that's all. I don't know his birthday or address or anything. I know me and my fiancé will be interviewed after we are married in order to get me a residency and they'll probably ask about my parents. If they know who my dad is or know that he is wanted, will I be sent back to the UK? What happened was so long ago and obviously wasn't my fault. moreResolved Question: Country-What was the real reason why Mindy McCready committed suicide?

A little over a year ago I moved from Missouri to Florida and shortly there after got a 6 month license suspension for drinking and driving. It was not a DUI, I wasn't arrested, and I didn't get a ticket. Well, my six month suspension was up almost two months ago, but I have no idea how to go about reinstating my license because it was from a different state. Obviously the best thing to do would be to just go waste an entire day at the DMV and ask them, but I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into before hand. I do want/need to get a Florida license and become a resident here. Also, being that I don't have a license and can't board an airplane without ID, there's no way for me to go back to MO and reinstate my license there if that's what they suggest. Basically, does anyone if I possibly escape all the reinstation fees by just applying for a new Florida license? What's my best bet? Thanks! moreResolved Question: If you had a couple of beers and drove and missed a curve and your friend dies will you go to jail in florida?

The party was shut down, and the police left the scene...but there were still people around the house near there cars waiting for another thing to go. Then a fight broke out and I was in my friend's car and I was driving because I was the only sober one and the rest were intoxicated. By the way at the time my friend was on HOUSE ARREST and he had a ankle bracelet monitor... when he committed this crime. Next, I drove to my house and a ex co-worker I know called me to hang out and I told her to come over my house. Jerramy Stevens arrested but not charged in domestic violence case involving Hope Solo Posted by Michael David Smith on November 13, 2012, 4:57 PM EST APFormer NFL player Jerramy Stevens found himself in trouble with the law again this week, this time because of an accusation that he assaulted his fiancee, soccer star Hope Solo. But after Stevens was arrested he had a brief court appearance at which a judge said there was insufficient evidence to charge Stevens with assaulting Solo, and Stevens was released. Solo was in court but did not speak. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that Stevens was arrested on Monday for fourth-degree assault. Court documents in the case show that police responded to a call about a domestic disturbance that included Stevens, Solo and Solo’s younger brother, Marcus. Few details in the incident have been made available about what exactly Stevens did that led to his arrest. According to Chris Daniels of KING-TV, the police report in the incident says Stevens and Solo were set to get married today, but they got into an argument yesterday over whether they would live in Florida or Washington State. In the past couple of years I've transitioned from single to married with a child, house, joint tax returns, and through it all kept a roommate. It became tough living with her, baby, and wife. So one night I came home from work and asked her to go, effective next month. I yelled at her for the condition her room was in, up to this point I did not think it was any of my business but her room was full of fast food bags, liquor bottles, trash, and dishes. I was upset and decided to leave to cool off at a local pub. I cooled off quite a bit. I got my breathalyzer out of the glove box and blew a 0.23 BAC. I made the decision not to bother my wife and kid and especially not the roommate, threw my keys in the backseat and put my cell phone radio on, put my seat back, and eventually passed out. According to phone records it's 11:30PM when I sent my last text message to wife to let her know where I was. The police had seen my vehicle alone in the parking lot and decided to investigate around 2:30AM. After they roused me awake, I was noticeably drunk and disoriented. Asking me for my license, I searched frantically and handed them an ink pen. Twice. Then the officer told me to get my wallet, which I complied and gave him my license. They ran it for warrants and returned and held on to my license. I gave them my insurance and registration and waited until they returned. They asked me to step out which I did and asked if they could search myself and the vehicle. I did not consent to a search and they told me to sit tight. Next they asked if I wanted to do field sobriety tests and I declined. They searched anyway and found my keys and tried to start the car, however the battery was dead. The officers declined my request to call wife/friend, or walk. They arrested me and charged me with a DUI over 0.15 and took me to jail. Lost my license for 6 months. Lost my appeal to keep my license. My question: Why is it acceptable to charge someone with a DUI for being IN their vehicle? moreResolved Question: Need ideas on places to go for a road trip!?

I'm in Florida currently on vacation but I live in Pennsylvania. I was sitting on the beach when I got arrested for having an open container of alcohol. After that the officer asked me my age and I told him I was 13, even though I am 20 years old. The officer took me up to my hotel room and asked my grandma how old I was. She handed him my license and told him I was 20 years old. Then he said that I needed to go with him and that I would be charged with falsely identifying myself which he said was a felony; however they charged me with misdemeanor. He took me into a holding cell for a few hours then took me to county jail. when I went in to my first appearance the judge said I had given the officer fake identification and provided him with a different name (which I didn't) and also a misdemeanor for having a beer. I'm really worried about serving jail time. I had a misdemeanor about 2 years ago (small possession of marijuana) but it had been expunged from my record, so im thinking that it shouldn't effect my punishment. Also I would hate to have to drive almost 1000 miles to make my appearance in court. What should I do? moreResolved Question: I got arrested for a DUI 2 days ago but my license is not suspended?
Im 22 years old blew under the legal limit in florida which is 0.08 i blew about 0.06 first time offense i went to jail got my car towed all that but the police told me im not getting my license suspended why is this? because i blew under the limit? and one of the nice cops also told me when i go to court i might just get the charge dropped to a "reckless driving". what happend was I was eating at a restaurant outsid and with my food i had one drink i did see alot of cops passing by so maybe one of them saw me getting into my car and boom one block later he stopped me for "failure to stop at a stop sign" which I know its crap because he just needed a reason to stop me because he saw me that I was drinking so he needed a reason to stop me when I was driving. So basically I got to tickets the "failure to stop a stop sign" and the 2nd is a DUI I was so mad. moreResolved Question: Food/Alcohol prices in Florida (I'm an Aussie guy with no understanding of prices over there haha)?

In December 2011 my mother got given an 18 month drink driving ban which will be reduced to 14 months after going on a drink awareness course in July. Prior to the incident the holiday had been booked in march 2011 to fly to America which is a florida holiday for 3 weeks with the family. My mother then had to apply for a visa due to the incident but recently got told by the private doctor at the embassy that her chances of obtaining a visa was slim and she would most likely get refused as the incident occurred under 12 months ago. Does anyone have any experience of this or heard of this? It is a joke really my mum first had to pay out to the embassy then got told that she needed a medical before it could proceed which cost over £200 and was not even relevant to the offence that she was convicted of! The medical consisted of getting checked for TB and Syphilis which is nothing to do with being banned from drink driving and to then get told by the doctor chances are she wont get the visa is ridiculous, why let people apply for them if chances are they wont get them as the conviction took place under 12 months ago. The holiday has been paid in full and my 7 year old sister may have to be told that she can't go to Disneyland. My mum was in the wrong for drink driving in the first place and she regrets this but she is not an alcoholic or dependent on alcohol it was just a one of incident. Can anyone tell me if they have heard this to be correct or if they have had the same experience thank you. moreResolved Question: can you be charged with a DUI after the fact?
I was driving my car drunk, I blacked out. My axle fell off, pre existing problems. Me and my friend were outside of the car, and the cops came and arrested us for public intoxication. I was asked to give a Breathalyzer test but did not take it. went to the hospital to be treated for my asthma, but did not have a blood test done. When I was being booked, they asked for a Breathalyzer test again, but I did not do it again. Now, my car is impounded and will not be released without a statement from the driver. Obama’s ‘drunk driving’ uncle surrenders his driver’s license for 45 days (but he can still drive to and from work) President Obama’s uncle has surrendered his driving license for 45 days after entering a plea in his drunk-driving charge. Onyango Obama, 67, admitted to sufficient facts at a hearing today which means he acknowledged that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him but without pleading guilty. The illegal immigrant is the half brother of President Obama’s late father. The drunken driving charge will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for a year, officials said. Obama was arrested in Framingham in August after a police officer said he made a rolling stop at a stop sign and nearly caused the officer’s cruiser to crash into his sport utility vehicle. On Tuesday, the judge ordered him to give up his driver’s license for 45 days. However, he will be allowed to drive to and from his job as the manager of a liquor store in Framingham. Two other traffic violations were dismissed. ‘He felt it was in his best interest to put this behind him,’ said his attorney, P. Scott Bratton. ‘He wants to return to his normal, quiet existence in society.’ Middlesex District Attorney Gerard T. Leone, Jr. told the Boston Herald that Obama has accepted responsibility for the ‘essence’ of the charges. ‘By admitting to sufficient facts today to operating under the influence and failure to yield at an intersection, the defendant has admitted responsibility for the essence of the crime he committed and has now been held accountable for his actions.’ Once pulled over, the DA said Obama’s speech was slurred, ‘his eyes were red and glassy and there was an odor of alcohol coming from inside the motor vehicle.’ Obama then failed several field sobriety tests and his blood alcohol was almost twice over the legal limit, reports the Herald. Obama, who is from Kenya, is also appealing a deportation order that dates to 1992, when he failed to renew his application to remain in the U.S. Bratton called it a technical error. He moved here as a teenager in the early 1960s to live with a host family and attend high school. Reports at the time claimed that Obama pleaded not guilty to the drunk driving charges and said he would ‘call the White House’ when he was arrested Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2121204/Obamas-drunk-driving-uncle-surrenders-drivers-license-45-days.html#ixzz1qMUSufAi moreResolved Question: Why are people rushing to crucify the Sanford Police Department?
Why are you people rushing to crucify the Sanford Police Department. my working with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office has brought me into close contact with not only low officers from that department but also high up officers. The Sanford Police Department refused to release a lot of information after the homicide which is more than likely the reason this started, however think about it for a minute with a rational and unbiased brain. If someone told you something and you were investigating it would you make a clear statement about it before the investigation is over only to be proven wrong when the investigation is over? If you answer no to that question you are more than likely a liar or someone who just doesn't have common sense. So when things started to heat up Chief Bill Lee (Chief of Sanford Police Department) was one of the first people to ask for not only the FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement which is our state law enforcement agency) but also the FEDERAL Department of Justice to help investigate this for an unbiased answer, the reason Zimmerman was not arrested and is still not arrested is the Self Defense law, which basically states that if someone as attacking you and you used force it is okay, now while I think the law may be misinterpreted on this case the Sanford Police Department has it's hands tied, it cannot make an arrest because it would be violating state law. Granted Zimmerman did things that he was not supposed to do (namely following Trayvon) but still, you have to remember that Zimmerman did not come out with no injuries whatsoever, he had to go to the hospital to have doctors reset his nose in place. So that makes me think Trayvon may not have been totally innocent like the parents are claiming, one more thing about the news. The news is only showing pictures of him from when he was 10-13. Trayvon was 17 years old when this happened, why don't we get to see a picture of him now? Maybe it's so we don't see what a hood he was. Personally I will defend the Sanford Police Department to whoever wants to challenge me, but next time please try to see both sides before asking such a ridiculous question about this.Everyone, I have only seen two good rational answers here. Please let me clarify, this is not a topic for you to rant about why the Sanford Police Department should be reprimanded or disbanded but rather a place where you can rationally discuss this matter in a respectful environment, I will politely ask you to keep it respectful to both sides views regardless of your own. This is one of the problems with this case today is that people will not take the time to listen to each others viewpoint and people are not getting the justice they deserve because of it. So here is your warning, please either post respectful answers stating your view or do not post at all, people who are thought to be violating this will be reported for abuse of Yahoo Answers. My dad is an alcoholic, and me and my sisters don't know where to go/what to do anymore. I'm 21 now and this has been going on for years. Ever since I can remember my parents were fighting, first it was verbal and then it turned physical. When I was in middle school it became a lot more serious, my mom would accuse my dad of doing drugs (cocaine) and cheating on her when he would come home late. My mom was diagnosed with postpartum depression after she had my little sister who is now 11. My dad would use that against her and scream at her and call her bipolar and hurt her physically when she would scream back about his drug use. When the fighting turned physical, my older sister started getting involved and would fight with my dad physically too. My mom turned to drinking, I would come home from school and she would be passed out on the couch with a bottle of vodka next to her. My mom started getting physical as well and when we were home alone one time she dragged me across the house by my hair, i screamed so loud that the police came and i lied to them and said nothing had happened, while she then said that i abused her which landed me in a juvenile center for the night until my grandmother could pick me.Soon enough my parents got divorced, which was messy and horrible, both of them would talk to us when the other wasn't around and say how awful the other person was. Eventually my mom moved out and into a one bedroom motel room and we saw her every few weeks in the beginning, but now we see next to nothing of her. My mom turned to alcohol and was eventually hospitalized for her problem after seizing due to alcohol withdrawal. I saw her a few weeks ago and she said that she has been clean and sober since the hospital, and I actually believe it. But the problem with my dad still lingers. When my mom left he turned heavily to alcohol. Soon enough my dad lost his job, which he blamed on his boss being an asshole, and blamed it on my mom too. But we eventually found out it was because of his excessive alcoholism (oversleeping/not going to work) and his drug problem which he tried to hide from us. Once he lost his job he started hanging out with this man that my mom always hated, she always told his that he was "daddy's drug provider." My dad then met his "girlfriend" who into the house, who was 22 and a heroin addict which we found out after she left syringes and spoons around (my older sister explained this to us). We begged and pleaded with my dad to get rid of her but he refused, and just yelled at us and said the nastiest things, to him the most demeaning insult was "you're just like your mother." He let his gf drive his car and spend his money, and she eventually totaled his car and wrote checks to herself while forging his signature- but he didn't care. Eventually my dad got pulled over with his gf in the car and he was cited for a DUI and the cops found heroin on his gf. Turns out there was already a warrant out for her arrest and she was taken away and is still serving her sentence. Since then my dad hasn't gotten a job, and blames it on his old boss, my mom, and the economy. A year ago I got into a near fatal car accident because of a mechanical failure with one of the two cars we had left, and the insurance wouldn't pay for a replacement. Rather than feeling bad that i fractured my skull in 3 places and i now have a scar across my face, he chose to yell at me and say "You didn't even apologize for ruining the car," something that i could have never helped. My little sister moved out into her friends house because of his antics after they got in a physical fight that left them both bruised and bleeding. Because my dad drained his bank account on his gf and their addictions, we were kicked out of our house (ordered by the court b/c my dad wasn't paying his alimony) and put into public housing. We went from a 5 bedroom big house, to a one floor, 3 small bedroom apt. My older sister stays with her girlfriend and we rarely see her. I am now home from college b/c i couldn't afford the last semester tuition, and living at the apt with my dad and my 11 year old sister. He gets unemployment money from the govt and spends 80% of it on alcohol, which he gets by riding his bike to the store with a backpack because the last car we had died and he couldn't afford the repairs. He was also diagnosed with Hep C. He drinks heavily every night that he can until he runs out of money. I got a job at a pharmacy in town to try to save money for a car and for school. It's out of hand, he yells and screams at me whenever he drinks and blames me for his whole family hating him. Whenever I try to tell him he's an alcoholic/he has a problem he just screams back at me and says i'm dumb b/c i couldn't even finish college and he calls me a whore and anything insulting he can think of. I don't know what to do, I cry myself toI cry myself to sleep every night and usually i cry randomly throughout the day when I feel stressed or something. I don't have any type of insurance, or money, or any car so I can't go to therapy or anything like that. I don't want to pity myself but it's so hard to deal with this daily. My little sister even had a suicide attempt last March b/c of all the stress which is what lead her to moving out. We have tried to sit him down soberly and talk to him, but he's in complete denial and just gets angry and yells at us and he doesn't want to hear what we have to say. Sometimes he says he will change, but once the money from the govt comes in once a month, he hops on his bike and rides to the liquor store and the next thing we know he is hammered and taking his anger out on us. All of my friends have fully functional families and caring parents, and I don't even have one. I know other people in the world go through this too but it doesn't help to know that moreResolved Question: How Long Does Alcohol Stay in Your System for a Urine Test ?

I have no idea what to do I will be 49 next year and I just feel so afraid of everything that means. I tried to see a psychologist but I can't even afford the copay. I do not want to go to a shelter that's a horrible thought given the way I grew up. I can't emphasise the ugliness I feel I look in the mirror and cry as I see nothing but an aging woman. My best friend died and the people around simply have drinking problems so I do not go out and talk. I do not drive never had to at home and when I came here my husband talked me out of it and now I have no funds to go to a driving school. Just wondered what to do thanks moreResolved Question: Would appreciate legal advice concerning a Florida DUI?
My son was pulled over last night for driving erratically and given a Breathalyzer test, which showed zero. He did not pass the roadside test because he was high on Xanax. Even tho he was not drunk they took him to the police station and was forced to give a urine test. They will not know the results of that test for a few days. Even though he had no alcohol in his system he was arrested for a DUI but kept his drivers license. Was it legal for the police to do that? He has a court date two weeks from now. The judge will see those results of the Xanax in his system. Will he then get charged for the DUID? Will he then get his drivers license suspended? What can he expect as a first time DUID'er? moreResolved Question: I got banned for underage drinking in universal studios, will I have trouble entering the USA?
