Open Question: One Day Trip to Los Angeles?
I'm planning a trip up the entire west coast of California and was hoping to make day stops at certain cities. If I had only one day in LA, what are some of the must see attractions? moreResolved Question: stuff to do in Los Angeles, CA(FASHION, ATTRACTIONS)?
Like I KNOW I wanna go to Universal Studios... But I'm not to familier with the shopping part of LA. I REALLY like sample sales and consignment shops that carry designer clothing/shoes/accessories. I found out about this Barney's New York Warehouse sale: http://www.barneys.com/Barneys%20New%20York%20Warehouse%20Sale/WAREHOUSE_SALE,default,pg.html and there's also this Market Center Sample Sale: http://findlocal.latimes.com/downtown/home/sample-sales/california-market-center-monthly-sample-sale-shopping-event but are there any that you just happen to know about or if you know of any AWESOME shops there? I'm going around Aug 31st - Sep 3rd. Even any shops that are AMAZING that aren't consignment, like allsaints, planet blue, Intuition, Diavolina, LF... stuff like that. :) THANKS!! :D moreResolved Question: Why is everyone ripping on Lebron James so badly?
Honestly, I don't get it. It completely puzzles me about how everyone has a reason to hate his guts and burn his jerseys. Okay, true, I understand that the way he made his decision was alittle questionable, but ESPN and YOU let him do it. ESNP AIRED IT AND YOU WATCHED IT! He and all his agents and everyone in the NBA knew that EVERYONE would watch it, so they went with the publicity. If Kobe, D-Wade, Dwight Howard switched teams, it would have went down the same way. When Melo leaves, see if he doesn't do something similar to this. NBA is a glamour sport now, there best players aren't Legends or anything like that, they are celebrities. And beside, he didn't even do it for the money, the proceed went to charity And WTF is this about "He is with like 2 other superstars so his titles won't mean as much"?!?!? Has everyone just up and forgot about the teams Jordan, Magic, and players like Kobe had? Magic had James Worthy and Kareem! Jordan had Scotty Pippin and Denis Rodman! Kobe had Shaq, Malone, Payton in his early career and now he has Paul Gasol and Ron artest, not to mention Larmar and Bymun. Nobody wins without other superstars, nobody ever has. I'm sure LBJ hates are now saying, after reading that, "well he left and they stayed with their team" dont give me that bullsh*t people. LEBRON COULD NEVER GET THE RIGHT TALENT FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP IN CLEVELAND. Chicago, big beautiful great economic city. Los Angeles, close to the beach warm all the time and it's in cali. Hollywood baby! Cleveland, dull boring cold all the time with no attraction to make up for it like Chicago does. He had to leave to win. HE HAD TO. I just honestly want to know why people are such ignorant douches and would treat the best player in the NBA this way, when he did nothing wrong. He did nothing that anyone else in the entire world wouldnt have done if they were in his position. Grow up, stop hating, and just enjoy the season.@Mexican : I'm smoking the papers that the League wrote up saying LeBron is the 2 time MVP. That's exactly what I'm smoking.@dudewithinfo: umm are you serious? I'm not the dumb one my friend, you are. Okay yeah kobe has like 5 rings, but what does the prove? That he can play great with a great team around him? OH WAIT! I thought eveyrone could do that?!?! Listen, look at the three most important statistic in basketball for LeBron and Kobe's whole careers Average PPG = LeBron-27.8 Kobe-25.5 Average APG Lebron-7.0 Kobe-4.8 Average RPG= Lebron-7.0 Kobe-5.2 True, Kobe has had a better career, but there is no agrueing with that dude. LeBron is a better ATHLETE, a better BALL PLAYER that kobe is, the numbers are right up there if you ever need to look at'em again. moreResolved Question: Anyone know a decent amount about Los Angeles?
I'm driving over to Los Angeles from Arizona in 2 weeks... I'm not sure where I should stay. I'm going with one other person, and I have 2 small dogs so I need a pet friendly hotel. I'm going to be near Paramount Studios, but I also want to be equally close to a beach. What would be a good town to stay in? And what are some cheaper (around $60-$100 per night), but nice hotels? I've never been here before and I want to make sure our location is perfect and we're able to do a lot of fun things!! Also, what are some attractions I should check out? I definitely want to go to the Walk of Fame and see Sunset Strip!!! I really don't know much about LA! HELP! Appreciate anything I can get!!!! Me and a mate want to travel America for a year, but after some research have found out that we can stay for no longer than 3-6 months depending on what Visa we apply for. Is there any way at all we can stay in the USA for longer? After finding out that we can only stay for 6 months, how would you plan your route? I might go to Los Angeles in August, and i want to know really fun places for families.like beaches, attractions,or anything that's really fun :) moreResolved Question: Help! I'm leaving on a roadtrip in 48 hours and I need advice on fun stopping points along the way!?
My boyfriend and I will be driving half-way across the country and we want to find neat places along the way to stop at. It is just the two of us - no kids - and we like small adventures and even quirky side attractions. The problem is we have no idea where to go! Although we really want to see the country, we are also on a tight time schedule so we would prefer places that don't take the whole day (2 hour max?). Here is our route: 1. Columbia MO to Tuscon AZ. Hwy 44 through Springfield MO & Tulsa OK. Hwy 40 through Oklahoma City OK, Amarillo TX, & Albuquerque NM. Hwy 25, then Hwy 10. 2. Tuscon AZ to Los Angeles CA. Hwy 10. 3. Los Angeles CA to Las Vegas NV. Hwy 15. 4. Las Vegas NV to Columbia MO. Hwy 15 to Hwy 70 all the way home (going through Denver CO, Topeka KS, and Kansas City KS). Thanks for your help!!Thanks for the help so far. Does anyone else have more advice? moreResolved Question: los angeles attractions for free?
can you tell me the best and top attractions in los angeles and whats for free!!! moreResolved Question: Does anyone have experience with smartbargains.com and the Go Cards?
I was looking to go to Los Angeles in August and was looking for some online deals/coupons. I came across the Go Los Angeles card that gives you access to 40+ attractions. It has some reviews on it's website but I haven't found much info outside of its website. Anyone have past experience with this offer? moreResolved Question: Is New York City greater than Los Angeles?
Like any other Californian I would like to think that the answer is no. However, compare the number of questions in the NYC section of Y!A Travel vs. that of LA. Over there, one person after another poses a question about an upcoming trip of theirs to New York and they're just giddy with excitement; you don't see a lot of that with LA questions. And when people ask what attractions or must-see places there are in NYC, NNY typically offers this long list of attractions virtually all of which are in NYC proper; this contrasts with the O-man list or lists which currently are lesser and contain locations outside LA. Moreover, NYC really seems to have a dominant presence in TV and movies today, more so than LA which you tend to see in car commercials or a few shows here and there. Granted: there are cultural attractions in Los Angeles which are frequently not mentioned in Y!A and which are not shown on TV. But then, the same is true of New York. So my question is this: Is NYC greater than LA, and if not then what can be done to improve the image of Los Angeles?@Obvious: I think it would be good to move back in the direction of 50-80 must-see places and attractions per answer; not enough good things are said about LA and California these days. Plus, who knows? Perhaps an increased awareness of LA would have the effect of generating more tourism $ in California. moreResolved Question: Trip to Los Angeles California?
I am from Texas and I am looking to take a week long trip to Los Angeles in December. I was wondering if anyone who has stayed there before could recommend a good hotel that is in a good location, within walking distance of great attractions, and is fairly cheap (under $100 a night). Also if you have any recommendations for sightseeing or something you just cant miss when traveling to the city. Thank you! moreResolved Question: help on traveling to Los Angeles?
Hopefully when I am 18 or 19, I am looking forward to traveling to LA and NYC in winter(so January), but I would like some help, tips on anything of traveling there. My boyfriend and I will be driving from the LA/Burbank area to San Francisco in late August 2010. We would like to take route 101, as we hear it is a beautiful drive. I assume we'll want to dedicate no more then 2 days to the drive. We have never driven in this area before (we are from the NYC area), and we need some suggestions on where to stop along the way... scenery, off-the-wall attractions, restaurants, festivals, etc. Can anyone help us out with some suggestions? Thanks! moreResolved Question: What are your all time favourite places in LA?

So in order to save money could we buy 1 Go Los angeles card for my daughter an 1 to share between me and my husband. moreVoting Question: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Ready For War With John Duddy?
By Ronnie Nathanielsz Undefeated and world rated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, son of the legendary Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez has arrived in San Antonio, Texas ripped and ready for what could very well turn into a war against Ireland’s John Duddy in their quest for the vacant WBC silver middleweight title at the Alamadome in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday. One of the interesting aspects of the big “Latin Fury 15” pay-per-view fight card of Top Rank promotions will be the return of Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera to the venue where he suffered the worst beating of his career at the hands of reigning pound-for-pound king and “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao in an 11th round TKO in November 2003. Barrera has said he is not ashamed of that defeat after dropping a unanimous decision to Pacquiao in a rematch some years later and has indicated he is determined to overcome the challenge of rugged Brazilian Adailton De Jesus en route to going after another world title. Also adding excitement to the card which will be telecast in the Philippines by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN over Studio 23 at 11:00 a.m. with a replay on pre-eminent Channel 2 on July 4 at 10:15 a.m. is the bout featuring Raul “The Cobra” Martinez whose only loss was at the hands of Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire in an IBF/IBO flyweight title fight in Manila on April 19, 2009 at the Araneta Coliseum, the “Mecca” of Philippine sports and entertainment. Martinez who is from San Antonio faces tough Gabriel Elizondo who, like him, is also a hometown boy. But the attraction is certain to be Chavez Jr who has won praise from pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao’s conditioning expert Alex Ariza while working out at the Wild Card Gym under four-time “Trainer of the Year” award winner Freddie Roach and Ariza, who told us Chavez “is doing very well. With all the rumors about being lazy and all the problems we might have, he’s been the complete opposite.” Ariza said Chavez Jr is “a great athlete, a hard worker . They said he wouldn’t be able to get up at 5 o’clock in the morning but he’s been doing it every day. He deserves a lot of credit.” The conditioning expert said Chavez Jr had the flu when he first arrived in Los Angeles but had overcome everything including his weight problems and that everyone is “ going to be pleasantly surprised how well he’s done. And he’s been great with Freddie (Roach) who is such an incredible teacher that Chavez is picking up on all of it.” The 24 year old Chavez Jr, who will battle Duddy for the newly minted, vacant WBC Silver middleweight title, is coming off a ten round unanimous decision over Troy Rowland (25-2, 7 KO’s) last November 14 after scoring a 1st round TKO over Jason LeHoullier (21-1-1, 8 KO’s) on September 12, 2009. The 30 year old Duddy is also coming off two good wins. He won a split decision over tough Michael Medina (23-1-2, 18 KO’s) last March 13 after earlier scoring a 1st round TKO over Juan Astorga (14-3-1, 9 KO’s). Duddy is the former IBA and former WBC Continental Americas middleweight champion.do you think chavez is on PED as well since he coached by roach?? http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=28697 moreResolved Question: What are major attractions in los angeles to San Francisco?
My family and I are going on a trip to Los Angeles to San Francisco and then to Las Vegas, I was wondering if you could give me some great attractions to visit so that we don't miss what California is about. Thanks :D moreResolved Question: Affordable things to do in these California areas?
Family of four Parents Teens: 14 15 Places: Napa San Francisco Pasadena Los Angeles More info: we are coming from Phoenix taking the I-10-->I-5-->to Napa Staying for: 5 days Im looking for: things like restaurants, attractions, SPAS, winery tours, and any of the sorts thanks so much (: moreResolved Question: Montecito California information?
i would like to find more information on moving to Montecito in the near future. is santa barbra a better choice? (not a fan of the whole los angeles scene big cities seem to have). how many high schools are there. public and private? how far is it from an actual mall(not outdoor place with a few highly priced shops but a real mall with a food court and such). is their a pier? attractions at the pier? also what is this place for teens 15 and up? is it far enough away from los angeles. so not to get the crappy personalities and ego maniacs that seem to live in la. (im a resident of los angeles and am not fond of the people here) lastly what do teens do for fun there. its right by the water so it that a highlight? please answer. much appreciated!! moreResolved Question: Who actually likes living in Los Angeles?
Many of my cousins that visit me and are from LA love the city and say they could not live anywhere else. But whenever I visit LA, although I love its warm weather and the beach, I despise its traffic and how spread out it is. In LA, you definitely have to plan your day around traffic because you will spend an hour or sometimes more driving from say Disneyland to Venice Beach. When I go to nyc, I can get to most tourist attractions in much less time even though it is far more crowded than LA and the best part is I get to sit in a subway and not have to drive through messy traffic. This especially sucks when you want to go partying at night. I can't get too wasted because I have to drive back..or if a couple clubs and bars I visit all suck, then I have to drive at least 30-40 minutes to find another set of interesting bars/clubs to check out. In NYC, I do not have to worry about getting a little bit wasted as I could always get a cab or take the metro without having to be totally sober. and besides in nyc, everything is much closer together so it's easier to get around. moreResolved Question: What are main attractions in Los Angeles?
I just moved to Los Angeles 6 weeks ago. My family is coming to visit and im wondering where to bring them besides the place we already have picked out which are: disney, malibu beach, six flags, universal studios, city walk, dogers game, and the groove/fairfax. moreResolved Question: Hidden gems to see/go in Los Angeles?
What are under-rated, not well known, or hidden gems in Los Angeles, CA? What are some places that are located in poor/urban/middle class neighborhoods that people should know more about? For example, the Watts towers, it is located in the Watts area (which isn't the safest place to go) but it is one of THE places that people should visit. I'm looking for these types of places to visit, but I don't mind other under-rated places in LA. I just want to travel off the beaten path and avoid the typical tourist attractions such as hollywood, universal studios, venice beach, disney land, six flags, blah blah blah So any suggestions from you L.A. natives and locals? By the way, I'm on a budget so I can't splurge as much as I want to. moreResolved Question: Is anyone surprised Houston ranked number 3 in America's ten most underrated cities?
I grew up there, and I know how bad the traffic is around the Galleria on Fridays. The smog and gang problems are no big secret, nonetheless. Maybe I'm just skeptical because I was brought up in Alief, and I saw how the gangs overran the area like cockroaches. The schools in Southwest Houston were abysmal to say the least. However, I noticed a huge change in scenery when my folks and I relocated to the Heights. We later moved to Austin, which I think is way overrated. Yes, I like that it's a more liberal city, but there isn't much going on here other than Sixth Street, and the few puny state museums. People get so offended here when I don't put Austin up on a high pedestal. I never said it was horrible; I stated it was overrated. The other nine most underrated cities were Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Minneapolis; Portland, OR; Providence, RI; Kansas City, MO; Sacramento, Fort Lauderdale, and Louisville, KY. I guess these places are overrated because they do have lots of cultural festivities, yet none of them have great tourist attractions like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco do. Is anyone else surprised Houston ranked number 3 on the list of America's top ten most underrated cities?Pardon me! I meant to say they were underrated because they didn't receive thousands of tourists each year like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and Las Vegas. Nobody I know has ever traveled to those ten locales for their honeymoon. moreResolved Question: Why does anyone care if college athletes take money and gifts?
http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/ncf/news/story?id=5234097 The whole system is corrupt. Coaches get a multi-million dollar salary from the school plus endorsements, the university makes millions, ESPN and CBS make billions, yet some people act like the athletes should be happy with a college scholarship and living expenses, which is what, virtually minimum wage? They are playing a sport full-time, and many of the stars are the star attraction in some of these games, getting their merchandise and likeness sold in games and jerseys. Now there is going to be a findings released on USC this Friday relating to whether players were paid off. Honestly, who cares? I think players should be paid. This is not amateur anymore. It's big money, it's a professional minor league. Players shouldn't be vilified for taking money. It's ignorant. If anyone can't see the NCAA, CBS and ESPN are making a killing because the current system is slavery, I feel sorry for you. It's an injustice, and it needs to be ended. moreResolved Question: 15 days trip to america good enough or too short?

i have to make a presentation from los angeles but i don´t know if there are any mistakes....... Attractions and Tourism In Los Angeles there are a lot of attractions. Each year visit over a million tourists the city for its beautyful sights. Hollywood is one of the most visited places. The best way to see Hollywood is on a walking sightseeing tour. Most of the main attractions are located within a few blocks of Grauman's Chinese Theatre, on Hollywood Boulevard. The courtyard of the Grauman's Chinese Theatre is famous for the handprints and shoeprints of all the Hollywood celebrities since 1927, is the most popular attraction in Hollywood. The Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame honor the people who have been successful in film, music and stage with a marble star laid within the sidewalk. The landmark from Hollywood is the HOLLYWOOD- sign in the Hollywood Hills, which is over the borough. Each letter of the sign is 12 meters high. Beverly Hills has the highest population of stars worldwide. A (simple) house in Beverly Hills is not to have under 1 million$ in contrast to Santa Monica, where a normal house costs only 200,000$. Rodeo drive: The Rodeo drive is a road in Beverly Hills. It is the most expensive road of the world. Here are only expensive shops where only the rich peoples buy something. Here are all well-known designers with their shops. Santa Monica is famous for its beaches. The beaches are big and large. When visitors came to LA and want to visit a beach they go to Santa Monica beaches. A famous beach is Venice Beach. In Anaheim is a Disneyland with a Fantasyland for Children, an adventure land and tomorrow land etc. And in Downtown there is a Chinatown: Exactly the same as in New York and in San Francisco there is also a Chinatown in L.A. It is not very large, just a sidewalk. There are Chinese shops and restaurants. In Little Tokyo is only a Japanese Shopping Centre with many Sushi restaurants. And one area is called Old Town. There are Mexican Shops and Mexican Food. moreResolved Question: First time in LA, don't know if this is a good area to stay?
I have found two hotels to stay, but i can't still decided which to book cause i'm not sure which one is better located, one is in: 1160 N Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA the other is: 1401 N Vermont Ave Los Angeles, CA 90027 it's seem that both are very close. so i will like to know if this place, this area is near LA Attractions,if it is a safe neighborhood, and if it is easy to move from there using public transportation. Thank you. moreResolved Question: What is the approximate travel time (by car) from LAX to the famous LA tourist attractions?
We are visiting Los Angeles for the first time in May and we booked the Crowne Plaza hotel for $47 per night. I have previously posted a question on Yahoo Answers if what is a good location to stay in LA and I got suggestions to stay in Hollywood, Anaheim or Santa Monica. I checked some hotels in those areas and they are 3 times more expensive than the deal I got with Crowne Plaza. If we chose to stay near LAX, how long does it normally take to drive to Hollywood, the Walk of Fame, Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica? If it is less than an hour, maybe we will just stay near LAX. Thank you in advance for your help. moreResolved Question: Are big "liberal" cities in the US really that racist when it comes to interracial dating?
OKAY, PLEASE READ THIS PART BEFORE YOU ANSWER MY QUESTION. Of course common interracial relationships like White guy/Asian girl and Black guy/White girl or Latina are accepted in almost every big city in America. I am talking about the rare interracial relationships like: Indian guy with a Latina Black guy with Asian girl Hispanic guy with Asian girl Asian guy with Black girl I have heard from people online that those couple face a lot of struggles (especially Indian guy - Latina). In Canada it is not like that but in the bigger US cities it is like that. My friend told me that one time in Los Angeles a Middle Eastern guy was beaten by some Mexicans who didn't like the fact that he was dating a Latina, she didn't even know them but they saw those two together and beat the guy up. Anyways I am a little worried about this. Since as an Indian guy I always had an attraction towards Asian women and Latinas. I currently live in a small deep south town (I am a high school senior) but soon I will be going to a more liberal place. Do I REALLY need to worry about any of this? Are people in the US really that bad that they will beat up an Indian guy for dating an Asian girl or Latina or did I hear wrong? moreResolved Question: Do you think it's unfair that my parents make me dress up sometimes?
I'm 17 years old, and I don't think anybody else in my school has their parents tell them what to wear (then again, their parents don't come from Saudi Arabia). Me and my family went on a trip to Los Angeles for the past week, and my mom and dad forced me to dress up for the first day. This is the outfit they made me wear (cropped from the only two images I personally had, saved on my phone): http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx351/rinoasquall_2010/stripeddresscopy.jpg?t=1270277584 http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx351/rinoasquall_2010/striped_shirt.jpg?t=1270277688 Oh, and I know you don't see it, but they also got me to wear 4 inch stilettos - my mom's stilettos, which she never wears anymore. I'll upload a pic in just a sec... http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/xx351/rinoasquall_2010/blackstilettos.jpg?t=1270277998 The outfit pretty near wrecked the whole day for me. I slept on the plane ride (which was about 10 hours, from 4:00 am in Nova Scotia time to 11:00 am California time), and when we got there we spent the day walking all around the streets, in and out of taxis to our hotel, then right back out for dinner, downtown, and off to a few tourist attractions. It was the hottest weather I've ever been through (never been that far south), and my clothes didn't help things. We didn't get back to our hotel until 1:00 am - by then, my feet were pretty much killing me. Do you think it's unfair? I'm sorry, I kind of wanted to get it out of my system, but I also wonder if next time we go on a trip I should convince them to let me wear my own clothes. They've always gotten me to dress a bit formally for "special occasions". It's so annoying.Oh no, I liked the way it looked. I just didn't want to wear a dressy, uncomfortable outfit for such a long time. Plus, it bothers me that my parents make me wear things still. moreResolved Question: What are some of the best gay places to visit in Los Angeles and the beach? Going May 3-7, 2010.?
My partner and I are going to L.A.May 3-7 to visit Universal Studios, Magic Mountain, and tour Hollywood. One of those days we are going to the beach and would like to know more about the "gay" area (if there is one) of the beach; best bars/clubs in the L.A. area; gay friendly restaurants (both casual and romantic); fun "to do" places; and/or "must see" attractions. Thanks! And please don't ask or reply anything stupid or immature...especially when you don't know what the hell you are talking about. moreResolved Question: What kind of attractions are in Los Angeles?

I will be staying at a hotel near the LAX airport. Driving is expensive, especially if we want to see the typical tourist attractions. We will have to babysit the car and find garages and paid parking in order to be able to leave the car. Can we leave the car at the hotel near LAX airport and take the train for the day to all the LA attractions? How difficult will this be? And if there is any free parking that we can leave our car, then jump on the train to the place? moreResolved Question: Who am I, still totally confused. I'm a Gay male but feel female.?
Hello all I am new to this service and look forward to corresponding with everyone who chooses to want to find out more about it. Here is a little history about myself. I am 31 years old and live in Los Angeles. I was born in San Diego and raised in South Africa from the age of 8 till I graduated from University. I spent my summers which happens to be the States winters in New York City. While in NYC I became aware of the LBGT community and began to realize what I had been feeling my entire life up to that point was not strange or something to be ashamed of. Up until that point of my life I really couldn't out a finger on what I was feeling, I just knew I didn't relate to females in a sexual Attraction type of way. I felt as if from my earliest memory that I was in the wrong body. When the boys wanted to play cops and robbers I wanted to play with barbie dolls. All of my female friends told me and still tell me I am more female than some of their female friends. I am currently 6'1" tall and 169 pounds. I feel so confused and lost like I have let my life slip away from me and I am currently living a lie in a male body. I guess I was just wondering if anyone has gone through something simular as me and if so how you have dealt with it. I am so ashmed to admit this but I have tried to mask this from the many but the few do know and support it. I believe I have a feminine frame. I have served in the military to hide what I truly felt I was and to do the things I thought I was supposed to do. Any insight on any of this would help me a lot. Thank you, Remi moreResolved Question: Any ideas of where to stay in Los Angeles for a week in March?

I'm going to Hollywood for a singing camp this summer, and my family and me will have 2 days to walk around and sight-see before I have to attend music classes. Besides the obvious - Mann's Chinese Theater and visiting the Hollywood sign - are there any really good places to visit? Nothing too far out of the area - remember we only have limited time. Thank you :) moreResolved Question: What are some popular tourist attractions in Los Angeles?
