I just want to be able to take her to an open casting call and let the casting directors decide for themselves. Thanks! moreResolved Question: What is the best way for me to begin working towards a career as a talent agent?
I'm a current undergraduate at Yale University working towards a degree in Economics, possibly double majoring in Film Studies. I'm hoping to go to business school to get my MBA after graduation. It is very likely that I will have to take the 2010/2011 school year off due to complicated circumstances. I live in Los Angeles, and I was wondering if any of you had advice on how to get an internship at a talent agency for the year (or for 6 months, or whatever I can do). I want to get the most I can out of this year off, and I hope that such an internship would give me valuable connections in the business (Hell, maybe even a job immediately after graduation?). Is it possible to simply drive to different agencies, submit a resume and ask for some low-level, mailroom position? Or is the only way to apply for these sorts of things through the internet? I've been searching around and it seems like the only sites offering applications to internships at talent agencies charge fees to submit your application. Is this the only way? moreVoting Question: Can you help me find child/infant talent agencies in Los Angeles?

hello. my question is fairly simple. I attend an actor's conservatory and love it. i have been attending for a semester in los angeles and recently an opportunity has come about to model with a top agency. i am unsure of what to do. while this could be an amazing opportunity for me, it bugs me that i will not finish out the year getting training in what i most want to do- acting. i absolutely love modeling as well, which is why i went to the open call but wasn't neccessarily expecting the opportunity to travel and be on contract. the agency also has affiliates in talent representation such as L.A. Talent management, a really great opportunity. so, i am not sure what to do. hopefully some of you will have ideas, thank you. moreResolved Question: Help! Talent Agencies, Acting..?

I have met with many agents in Los Angeles for acting/modeling for son who is almost 2 years old. I have narrowed it down to BMG Talent and DDO Artists Agency. Can anyone give me feedback about which agent I should pick and why? Thank you! moreResolved Question: People think I am a peadophile for wanting to work with kids and being man?
I went out to Los Angeles about 2 years ago to do a talent agency internship. Everything went well until the second last day when I was at one of the agents boyfriends homes. One of the other guests asked what type of talent I was interested in, I responded by saying youth. Everybody at the table gave me odd looks and didn't talk to me for the rest of the night. And I swear there where mutters under breathe. It has left me confused and angry the boyfriend was realy snobby to me and laughed at my ambition. I was only 19 at the time of the trip from edinburgh uk and I am a sexual abuse survivor myself. So find it offensive if people thought I was a peadophile. Most of them where recovering alcohlics and had no children of there own. The guy who had the cheek to bring up this question was porn/horror director somebody I would not want near my kids. I find making childrens dreams come true through acting to be emtionaly healing from my past. moreResolved Question: Hollywood Talent Agency?
I live in San Francisco and if i actually do get accepted by a talent agency to represent me will it be hard to actually get a part or a role in a movie, commercial, or a TV show? I am of Asian race and there are not that many Asian actors compared to white or black actors/actresses which means that if there is an open casting call for an Asian part then i am guessing the competition will not be as rigorous due to the fact that there are much less Asian in Los Angeles trying to get a part. I live in San Francisco but i have a lot of family in the LA area like Norwalk, Santa Monica, Burbank, Long Beach, Irvine, echo park, etc.. So a place to stay is no problem. It's just getting used to the Craziness of Los Angeles with all these other aspiring actors/actresses trying to make it big. moreResolved Question: Talent Agencies in Los Angeles?
I live in The San Francisco region of California which is about 400 miles north of Los Angeles. If i signed with some talent agency in Los Angeles will i have to move there or will they give me auditions and roles in the bay area. Will i have to go all the way to L.A. to showcase my acting talent. I am not currently with any talent agency in the bay area because I want to do bigger roles meaning Shia Labeouf roles. Would i have to go to Hollywood because 95 percent of the movies done and shot in California is done in Los Angeles. Kind of off topic but my last question is that i am asian and roles for asian actors are rarely given. i have about 1 and a half years of experience but i am really talented and i really stand out out no kidding. I have done 3 extra roles for the TV show Trauma starring Cliff Curtis. What are my chances of making it big like Shia. moreResolved Question: How much experience do I need (as a CHILD) to sign with an agent?
I am 13 years old and in the 8th grade, and have been working on acting since 9 doing school productions, community theatre and acting workshops (as well as 4 years of choir)(since 4th). I plan on taking theatre camp this summer, and auditioning and applying for MSA (Mississippi School of the Arts) for 11th and 12th grade, and have signed up for a theatre arts class for all my years in highschool. There is a talent agency very near to me, and they mainly support models (they support actors, dancers, and singers too, but only have models) and only have 15 clients total. If I make an appointment and show them what little experience I have, could I still make it? I know I am very young and should wait, but I want this badly! I also will be going to college at UCLA (University of California in Los Angeles). I figure if I can't get a scholarship, and have to take out loans, it might as well be for a school I want to go to. moreResolved Question: What are good commercial talent agencies in Los Angeles?

Specifically ones that are not looking to sign you up for classes. moreResolved Question: Trying to become a Voice Actor?
Hello, =) Lemme just give you a little background information so you can see where I am coming from. Ever since I was young I have always liked entertaining people, especially trying to make people laugh. When I was younger I was one of the star roles in a 5th grade play. That was probably the most fun I ever had in elementary school, I loved playing someone else, it was sort of like escaping reality and becoming enticed in another one's affairs. About 2 years later I was another star role in a 7th grade play. I was one of the "comic relief" roles, which was perfect for me. In my childhood days I used to watch this animated television show on Cartoon Network called "Teen Titans." I loved this show, it was very different from any other show. I didn't realize until I was older, but the reason why I loved this show so much, is because of the great voice acting and the general theme and style that the show possessed. The show stopped airing in 2006, and I thought that that was the last time I would ever see that show. It crushed me, it was like losing a friend in a way; because I watched that show from the start until the end, which, I believe, was 4 years. However, just recently the show started airing re-runs again. Even now as I am older, this excited me. I began watching it, and the same good memories that I obtained before starting rushing back. Something was different this time though. I started to get feelings such as, "Man, I really want to do that" and "I wish I could be a voice actor." My favorite character on the series, "Beast Boy" was voiced by a man named, Greg Cipes. I never really paid attention to who was actually voicing the character when I was younger, I always thought that they were "voicing themselves" in a way, I saw the characters as people, rather than animations. Now, however, I paid more attention to who the voices of the characters were and Greg Cipes really stuck out. He has really been a major influence to me, and he has really made me want to "follow in his footsteps." That was about 7 months ago and my mind still has not changed. Everyday I still dream of becoming a star-role voice actor, but I don't know how to achieve my ultimate dream and goal. In terms of support, I have none. No one believes in me, and my mother even goes as far to say that I won't be able to do it. This really brings me down, because in my opinion, everyone needs at least someone there for them, someone that they can trust and love and know that whatever choice they make, they have someone there that tells them they can do it. My other problem is I am currently living in Arizona, and the major talent agencies are located in big-time towns such as Los Angeles and New York. Being only 17 years old, I don't have much choice in the location in which I live, and I don't have near the amount of money needed to rent even a small apartment in either city. I plan to go to college when I graduate from high school in May (yay =)). I was wondering if I should major in something that will help me with this goal of mine. I was considering Drama, but I am asking for an opinion first before I decide. I know that if I am going to get anywhere, first I will have to start from rock-bottom. What exactly would "rock-bottom" for voice acting be? Commercials? Children or Short-story recordings? I am not sure where to even start. However, doing a little research and some sneak-peaks at talent agency's websites, some of them require you to be at least 18 years old. Do you think it would be better for me to wait until I am 18 (in April) before I start up anything, just to stay focused on my school work until graduation? I know I may have a few more questions, but these are the main ones that I am wondering about. I am very sorry about this lengthy "story-question" that I have provided for you, I really got carried away, haha. =) Even if you cannot provide an answer to the questions I have provided, it would be much appreciated just to hear your opinion on the matter. Thank you, and a big thank you to those who have read this all! Travis. moreVoting Question: what are some good theatrical talent agencies in Los Angeles that accept online/email submissions?

Hello. I am a 22-year-old male from St.Louis, MO. I am contemplating my next move in life. In December 2010 I will graduate with my Bachelors. (I obtained my Associates at a trade school.) I don’t know what my next move should be. I am trying to decide should I go to grad school or move to a big city to try to work in the entertainment industry. In the entertainment industry I would like to do the following: appear in commercials, print ads, TV shows, and obtain small roles in movies. I am not attempting to become some huge star, but I would like to see could I make a living in the entertainment industry. Long term I would like to have the proper knowledge base, and experiences to manage others careers, and potentially create my own agency full of aspiring talent. Once again short term I just want to appear in a couple of TV shows, host a show, obtain movie roles, and do some commercial modeling. I am contemplating moving to the following places… Los Angeles, Chicago, or Atlanta. I know it’s kind of an odd combination of places to try to get into the entertainment industry. The reason for LA is because it is just a given, but the downside it’s way too expensive for me. Chicago is a little more affordable, closer to home, my best friend said I could live with him until I get on my feet, but the downside is it doesn’t have all the opportunities that LA could give me. Atlanta is an option because one of my best friends is moving there to try to get into the entertainment industry, therefore we can go through our struggles together, but I don’t see really that much opportunity there. Graduate school is a sure way to increase my job marketability, and make more money. I could go to grad school for the next two years and be done by the age of 25. I am scared of failing, and I don’t want to waste time that’s why grad school is an option because it is a safer choice. Facts: I am getting older, so it is important to be working on a solid career I don’t have the extra money lying around to waste making a bad decision (I have student loans that I will have to pay back) I have enrolled in acting classes I plan on getting headshots done I hate living in St.Louis I don’t want to be too broke; financially I am doing ok, and have a lot of nice things that I enjoy I have been working on trying to speak with anyone that knows anything about the entertainment industry so I can learn from them People always say I should go for it, and that it seems like I would work in the entertainment industry I am no fool, I know the odds of making it in Hollywood are not ideal, so it’s not a bad idea to have a back up plan I am willing to put in the hard work and get a million rejections for that one yes I was selected to be in an ad ran in a major newspaper in St.Louis, the ad ran more than 10 times I would like to at least be wealthy by the age of 26 The point of the post is the following: I would like any and everyone’s opinion on what I should do Advice on how to get into the entertainment industry would be great Best city based off the basic information provided would be for me to move to Good people to get into contact with Any advice, input, or commentary would be appreciated!!! (I know one can say why not do both… School and pursue the entertainment gig, but I can’t afford out of state tuition. In addition, I want to give which ever my choose as much as my attention as possible.) Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter. moreResolved Question: What city should I move to get int the entertainment industry?

Dear friends,I am a 36 year old amateur adult video model who is uncertain about the future since I have only made one appearance thus far. I have sent my details to talent agencies in Prague and Los Angeles, though I realize that I must be near these agencies to be considered.Consequently,I will be moving to one of the two aforementioned cities. I have been considered handsome and my body has potential. However,if I may be frank, the size of my penis is merely average when erect and I need viagra since I am 36.Nevertheless,I do satisfy. Needless to say,the competition is tough. As a result,I would like to know if I am wasting my time trying to become a professional adult video model? If there are any producers searching for models or female models searching for partners, give me a chance, you will not regret it. Peace&Love Your Friend moreResolved Question: How can you audition and prepare for movies/commercials/voice overs near PORTLAND OREGON?
I have previous acting experience, besides schools plays, and an acting class when I was real young and such. I know, me and a billion other 13 year old girls dream of being in movies. Something to do with the effects afterwards. But I've watched how they film the scenes. I don't want some google search of talent agencies in portland, because those can be scams, unless you know they are reliable agencies. And I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on something that I will get nothing out of. Ever since I was 5 I've wanted to be an actress or singer. I don't necessarily aspire to be famous though, but I could manage it. I just want something that looks good on my resume, so that I could audition for a real movie. I don't have the means to travel to Los Angeles right now, unless I know for sure I could get something. Does anyone know any casting calls in Portland, where they don't require previous movie experience? Or in the Oregon Washington area. What do you suggest? More acting classes? Is the thousands of dollars worth it? And how do you audition for acting school? How do I prepare? Thanks :)I actually like doing commercials, and everytime I see a billboard or tv, I make up commercials. I am not really shy, but I'm not very outgoing. It depends on the environment.Where is a good place to get headshots done? moreTop Talent Agency In Los Angeles Links
