Resolved Question: Fighting over vacation! Frustrated! Help!?
Alright I'll try to keep this short and sweet, so my boyfriend wants to go visit his best friend in another state for our vacation and I want to go somewhere tropical. I love his best friend and girlfriend, they are some of my closest friends as well. Let's just say where they live isn't my idea of a "vacation". It would cost about $400 / person to fly there. We would have a place to stay for part of the trip, but still pay for a ton of food, activities, hotel etc. yet, obviously the cheaper choice. I really want to go to an all-inclusive resort. Possibly in Mexico, Bahamas, Caribbean , you get the picture - tropical (Hell, I'd even go to Florida). I'm not asking to go to this marvelous 5 star resort or anything like that. The only reason I say all inclusive is because he said it'd be too expensive otherwise. I'm planning for three months in advance and am finding prices around $700-$800 for a 7 day stay in decent all inclusive resorts. I am also willing to ask the couple to come along with us (lowering the price, by sharing a room) but they say they can't afford any trip. We need a mediator. Am I being too selfish? moreResolved Question: Beaches, stargazing, , All Inclusive Vacation for 5-6 days?
Where is a good place to go to enjoy the weather and beach as well as a place that has good stargazing. Somewhere without a whole lot of light pollution. I wouldn't mind for the place to be somewhere other singles go to vacation for socializing. I am a Male 28 years old and don't care for the bar or party scene. Something "all inclusive" on a small budget would be great. I am more looking for a place to lay on the beach and see the stars and contemplate some major up coming life decisions. So the socializimg is not of major purpose. I want to go somewhere outside of the United States and Mexico. Any ideas? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Where can I find a good honeymoon deal?!?
Hi, I'm a college student and getting married May 1st, 2011. I am my wits end trying to sort through all these vacation packages. Neither my fiance or I drink alcohol, so would that make it better to not have an all-inclusive package? I think the Detroit, MI airport is the cheapest to fly out from (live in Pellston, MI). My fiance doesn't want to go to Mexico or Jamica because of violence, kidnappings, and such. I'm mostly concerned about how to get from airport to hotel, food, etc. as I've never been on a trip before. Also, being a college student and having little money (don't ask for a budget- it's whatever the options are), this is all out-of-pocket, so I'm looking for really cheap deals. Her dream thing would be to spend the night in a castle. I'm for something warm (and I think going to Europe would be out of price range). Snorkeling, sailing, etc. are all fun if that helps much. Probably May 2nd, 2011 would be when we'd leave.. how long depends on price but at least 3 days. I don't care about if it's a cruise, a hotel, if it's 4-stars (parents are pretty bad off financially so even Econo Lodge seems like a 5-star hotel for us), or even where we go necessarily.. there are just so many options and I've already spent WAY too much time looking at things. Any help or tips on places to start would be very much appreciated!!!! moreResolved Question: Traveling to Mazatlan with a 7 month old & 4 year old. What do I take, what can I get there?
My parents have just booked an all inclusive trip to Mexico as a family vacation in November. My parents go quite regularly – so this is apparently a 4 ½ - 5 star resort. There will be them, my brother, sister in law, 5 y.o. niece, myself, my husband, our 4 y.o., and our baby - who will be 7 1/2 months at that time. I know what I’m going to need - but I'm wondering what I should take and what I can get while I'm there. I'm already planning to take a car seat, 2 cans of powdered baby formula (because I know they don't sell her brand outside of Canada), and enough jarred baby food for the airplane and the next morning. From what I understand there is a WalMart in Mazatlan and we plan on going there as soon after we get there as possible (probably the next morning). Should I bring enough jarred baby food for the entire trip? Or just enough to get there and get to a store? What brands are available? Should I bring 2 packages of diapers? Or do they sell Pampers at the WalMart there? We’re planning to buy an inexpensive umbrella stroller there and just give it away before we leave if we can’t take it on the plane on the way home. I’d really like to take our playpen – but our travel agent has ordered a crib for our room already. Sorry if I sound completely ignorant – but I’ve never been to Mexico before let alone with an infant. I can’t find it spelled out anywhere either. Is there anything specific I should be sure to take for my 4 y.o. as well? moreResolved Question: Good resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean?
My family is planning on going on vacation next month and we are are planning on going somewhere in Mexico, Cuba, DR. I've been trying to find a nice all-inclusive resort but i cant find any in our price range. Were planning on spending $950 max per person at a 4-5 star hotel. If you know of or have been to good resorts in those areas please post them and tell me a bit about your expirence their. moreResolved Question: Need help planning Mexico vacation!?
My family and I are planning to go to Mexico, but we can't find any good hotels, so we were wondering if any of you have been to an all-inclusive 5-star hotel in Mexico (near Riviera Maya). We are looking for a family friendly environment (I have 4 kids). We were hoping for a beautiful beach, good restaurants, and a bar in the pool. My teenage daughers also like the teen clubs. Do any of you have any good hotels in mind? It would help us a lot if you gave us some information about the hotel! Thank you so much! moreResolved Question: What's the best Caribbean island for my family and I to vacation on?

Thanks =) -Tiffany <3 moreResolved Question: Where should we go on our honeymoon?
I know we have a lot time to decide, but we can't decide at all where we want to go. We are getting married in July and have narrowed our choices down to: 1. Mayan Riveria, Mexico. I've looked at a 5 star resort - the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso. It will cost just over $5,000 for the 2 of us for the week. PROS: all-inclusive, luxurious, beach, no additional costs, relaxing, no kids CONS: Mexico, safety issues, not much to do except beach, booze and sex, I feel it's weird spending $5,000 to go somewhere warm when it's already warm in July at home, food could be bad 2. Mediterranean Cruise. It will be the most expensive at almost $10,000 (including booze, excursions, flights etc.) PROS: It's a Mediterranean Cruise! So much to see and do, great experience, once in a lifetime trip CONS: cost obviously, I've heard that you almost need a vacation after the cruise as you're always seeing something / walking around the different cities, no beach, the heat, alcohol not included 3. Alaskan Cruise. $5,000 including flights, spending money etc. PROS: again it's a cruise, Alaska is beautiful, nice weather, not too hot, good food CONS: no beach, not hot weather, might not be as "exciting as the Mediterranean Cruise", kids on the ship So we are at a loss. Right now I think Alaskan cruise is best bet economically, but I've never been on one and wonder if I will get bored. Is it just ice? What do you do at the ports? Any input would be soooo appreciated! We are stuck! moreResolved Question: Family vacation in Mexico Cancun or Cabo San Lucas?
My daughter is only 2 years old and my wife and I are in the mid 30´s. My wife loves Cancun and raves about it all the time, another married couple wants to vacation with us and they suggested Cabo. Looking for 5 star all inclusive resorts and ability to eat lobster is must. So a place where both my daughter will have fun and be safe and the adults also can have some fun also. Thanks in advance moreResolved Question: Baja Mexico Vacation: Cheap Accomodation & Adventure Ideas?
I received two free tickets to San Diego, CA. I've been there, but would like to rent a jeep and drive to Mexico for 9 days. I have off from work 9 days in mid-September. Any one have any recommendations for a city, hotel, rental cottage, etc. within 2 days drive of San Diego? Requirements: ON a beach Directly ON the Pacific or Sea of Cortez & offering snorkeling/scuba. Plus, any other "adventure" activities nearby (boat rental, ATV riding, horses, etc.) would be an added bonus. Free continental breakfast would be great, but "all inclusive" is a waste on light eaters who also do not drink. :-) Travel agents feel free to reply, but I am really looking for someone with direct recent experience with a place they liked or perhaps a property or B&B owner. There would be just two of us going. COST IS AN ISSUE: I don't need a 5 star hotel, just someplace clean and comfy to rest my head after a busy day. Thanks for any and all assistance and recommendation moreResolved Question: Question about the Barcelo Maya Palace in Cancun, Mexico?
Hi, I'm traveling to the Barcelo Maya Palace in mid-september and i know that the resort was just opened in Dec of 2007 but i was just wondering if anyone has ever been there. I want to make sure i made the right choice. just for a relaxing all-inclusive vacation. the people i am going with have high standards in the "clean" department and i just like the pools and bars. lol. we are staying in a jr.suite for 7 days...will we get bored? and hows the food...i mean i know it might not be 5 star but is it good? i know the other 4 sister resorts are okay so if you can just tell me about the new one that would be great.... and yes i've read the reviews...but some people are just plain wacky complaining about the bar running out of limes... thanks, moreTop 5 Star All Inclusive Mexico Vacations Links
