I am on the verge of booking a trip with eight of my friends (23-25 years old) to Cancun for the first week of July -- July 3rd-10th -- this summer (2010). I'm hoping the city is busier with tourists during this week due to a vacation day in the US (July 4th... most people will have the 5th off), but I'm unsure what the atmosphere will be like. We're going to stay at the Grand Oasis Cancun Hotel and we're hoping for a crazy atmosphere with lots of young people that are hoping to have the same kind of trip as us. But I'm wondering what people's general take is on what the city will be like at this time of the year? Will it be packed (we hope yes)? Will it be crazy (we hope so)? Will the bars/clubs be full and people partying hard every night (we really hope so)? So two of my friends and I are thinking about taking a summer vacation in june somewhere outside the united states to just get away and have some fun. We were thinking about about going to ibiza,spain because we hear its really beautiful, parties all night, and its just an experience of a life time..but i checked it out and it seems pretty pricey, maybe something to consider later on down the road. So my question really is where would be a great summer vacation spot where we can party it up, explore, check out some beautiful girls and have a reasonable price tag? This summer my family and another are planning to go on vacation somewhere tropical for my graduation trip. We have been to the Dominican Republic, and Cancun, and found both beautiful! We would be interested in going back to one of those places or going somewhere else. There are a few requirements though, I want it to be all-inclusive for sure! Our families both have kids ranging from 7-21, so we want some place that can entertain young kids and teenagers alike. It needs to be somewhat affordable. my two friends are getting married....they seem very happy..i've been friends with them for 4 and 5 years...they are outgoing..love to go out on the weekends...vacation etc etc. sooo every year we go to cancun....we are all supposed to go again ....i was just telling my friend Jackie how Niall (the couple) was talking about going scuba diving this coming summer in cancun....she said...no more vacations with friends once we get married.....i was so shocked..then she said and no more clubbing either. My pregnant girlfriend and I had a nasty fallout, and ever since then, she tells me, "My uncle is the best lawyer in town...As soon as my baby's born, we're taking you to the cleaners, baby! We're talking at LEAST $800 a month!" Every time she sees me, she says, "Ka-ching! Ka-ching!" or loudly talks about the things she is going to buy with my money. When I wrote in my blog about a promotion and raise I had gotten at work, she posted a comment saying, "Hell yeah! Looks like I'll be able to take that Cancun vacation next summer after all!" I do realize that as a father, I need to take responsibilities and step up to the plate--I'm more than willing to do that. What I am NOT willing to do is let someone use a child as a method to drain my paycheck and line her pockets for her car payments, makeup, hair, nails, and cigarettes. Do I still I have to pay child support if I have 50% custody where I am paying all child care expenses, and then when she has custody, I pay for ONLY verifiable child care expenses? I'm not trying to twist or weasel my way out of taking responsibility for anything...I just don't think that paying $800 or $900 a month for someone to line her pockets is just not fair! more

Resolved Question: I had an intense dream involving suicide and homicide between my friends and I. What does it mean?

I had a dream that my class was in a field trip to Cancun. We were at a simple airport, high above a city in the middle of summer vacation. I met up with my former crush... guy #1 standing in line by one of the planes. While I was saying hi to him, one of the gerks in my class said, "I bet you're really happy to see him." While he said this, he was pretending to hug him, as if taunting me. I got mad at him and punched him in the gut while guy #1 wasn't looking. He doubled over in pain. I then decided to move on and look for my other friend, but she was nowhere in sight. I gave up looking, and decided to meet up with my crush, guy #2. He gave me a hug, which was awkward beacuse we've never hugged before. Some other gerk in my class then said, "Haha, i knew you liked him." I poked him with a chainsaw, so he was the 1st person to die in the dream. Then, there was a problem where not everyone in our class would fit on one plane because there were other passengers, and the planes were kinda small. I was caught in the position where I had to choose between 3 planes. The first plane had my past crush, guy #1. The second had guy #2 on it, and for some reason the third plane had guy #3, another past, but more recent crush on it, even though he wasn't in my class. They each wanted me to board their planes, but it was phisically impossible to do so. The were at the point of harassing me now. I told them I needed some time to think. Then once the all left me alone, I met up with each guy seperately and kissed them all, telling them each that I would board their plane, instead of the other two. But when the time came to make the decision, I couldn't handle it. Then I took out a dagger, pulled down my shirt, and yell out, "I love you all!" then stabbed myself in the chest.....or that's what I thought happened, but guy #2 stopped me in a panic, now holding the dagger, both of us on the floor. Then he looked me in the eyes and said, " I can't let you do this, I love you too much." guy #3 was in outrage. He pulled guy # 2 off of me in yelled, "Get off of her!" Both guys started arguing. Guy # 1 stood there in what looked like deep thought. When the others weren't looking, he grabbed my hand and we were running toward the 1st plane. Guy #2 cought on quickly, and caught up with us, grabbing guy #1 by his T-Shirt. Guy #3 grabbed hold of him then, while guy#2 stabbed him in the back with the dagger. Then I yelled out, "NOO!!!!" But it was too late, guy#1 bled to death. Guy # 2 stood there for a moment, stunned that he had just killed his best friend. Guy # 3 saw an opportunity to take action, then stole the dagger from guy # 2, stabbing him in the back. To his surprise, the wound wasn't in a good enough spot to kill him. The two guys were wrestling for the dagger, when it skidded in my direction, stopping at my feet. I grabbed the dagger and killed both guy #2, and guy #3. They also bled to death. I the corner of my eye, I saw my enimie ready to dial 911, so I decided to poke him with the chainsaw 2....he died just like that gerk I killed earlier. I rounded up the bodies of guy #1, guy #2, and guy#3 into one group. Then I took the dagger and committed suicide, landing on them. Then the dream ended. I woke up feeling guilty. What does my dream mean? more

hello, every summer i drive to a few beach spots in a rental car, but im out of cool spots too go too! my girlfriend wants to go too cancun or aruba, bahamas etc. i love the look of those spots for a vacation, but i hate flying! its so boring, and i get extreme perplexing anxiety from hell that freaks me out! i had to fly when in the military, but i was young at 18, now i dont trust people like pilots especially as they would smell like booze in the military! what does one do with a terrible fear of flying! man its so bad that i was in sarasota florida and i got off the plane and my girlfriend flew without me, she was way pissed! flight anxiety keeps me from travelling to some of the best places in the world! i wish it didnt bother me man, any real advice? alcohol and zanax aint workin... more

We were planning to go to Cancun since there was a yacht and free stay waiting for us there but with this scare of swine flu I want to avoid it now. Sup guys, here's the deal. I am 19 years old from NJ. My godmothers are going to buy me a ticket this summer to where ever I choose to go. Hotel/Resort included, the whole works. I'm trying to plan an affordable Mexican vacation this summer. Due to summer school, we can only go in August. However, I hear its rainy season and Im afraid it will ruin our trip. Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta are affordable, (app 1,300 including plane and hotel for 2) and dont seem to be as commercial as Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Which one would you choose? Voting Question: help! vacation and terrible stretch marks!? what can i do! AND WEAR?:(?

im going on a school grad trip to cancun once we graduate high school and as excited as i am i am equally as worried about what im suppose to do about my stretch marks! i gained 10 lbs last year due to stress and my pure laziness causing me to get this hideous array of stretch marks all over my inner thighs and a few on my hips. I've lately began my way to my former weight and back in shape however though i had my weight gain i never considered myself fat and neither have my peers. so really my problem is i've tried every product out there. nothing has faded them. and i have NO idea what i can possibly wear in mexico to swim in. i feel like a fool not being able to look cute in the summer, especially on vacation with all my friends! im not there to impress anyone but i just want to feel confident and comfortable with myself while at my destination. :(... anyone with ideas on what i can possibly wear as a swim suit (short board shorts barely cover my stretch marks and i think i look ridiculous in long board shorts) or DO about my stupid stretch marks which are completely reluctant to fading. more

Resolved Question: Do you have to be a U.S. citizen to fly to Mexico?

I'm trying to book a vacation for me and my boyfriend, who is 21, to Cancun this summer. He came to the U.S. from Russia when he was a kid, and has been here under "permanent resident" status. Last month, he took and passed the citizenship test, but has yet to go to court to be officially sworn in, which could take months. Would he be able to fly to Mexico without being a U.S. citizen? Or would he just need a passport? Any answers would help, thanks! more

Hi my name is Paul and I am looking to plan my first vacation for this coming summer. I am looking to go somewhere like Cancun or something like that. I want to go in late July or early August. What I need help with is deciding where to go for the cheapest price. My ideal vacation is going to Cancun for 5 nights in an all inclusive hotel for under 1800 dollars for two people...So far I haven't found an option this cheap. I will be departing from the Des Moines airport in Iowa, United States. Does anyone have any specific all inclusive hotels that are cheaper but still pretty nice in mind? Also, it doesn't necessarily have to be Cancun, I just want an all inclusive hotel with white sands right next to it, you know? The hotel HAS to be all inclusive. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada ..&I'm planning a road trip to Mexico for either Spring Break or Summer (for my birthday in June). I have a few questions. We're considering Cabo San Lucas or Cancun. Well actually anywhere that has beaches, hotels, and maybe a few night clubs or raves that will disregard the fact that my sister is seventeen. She will be coming along is under the drinking age. She's 17, not 18, and i'm wondering if that will be a big deal? She wants to party too ;) Everyone so far has told me to go to Cancun vs. going to Cabo. what's a few differences between the two? Also, Do you think there would be any hotel availability if we just tried to get a room once we got there? Does it matter how old you are if you want a hotel room? Can I pay in cash? (USD) What are the gas prices like in Mexico? Any tips for my vacation? Feel free to tell me about your experiences in mexico (good and bad!) I need all the input I can get.
