Open Question: Vacation ideas for June?

Any ideas for a vacation this summer for me and my honey, we're located in SF? We were planning to go to Cancun since there was a yacht and free stay waiting for us there but with this scare of swine flu I want to avoid it now. We're quite the enthusiastic traveler and have been to quite a few places already such as Hawaii, New York, Puerto Vallarta and most of CA. Any ideas for an affordable trip under $600 (flight & hotel only). I've searched many of the major travel websites and could not come up with anything. more

Sup guys, here's the deal. I am 19 years old from NJ. My godmothers are going to buy me a ticket this summer to where ever I choose to go. Hotel/Resort included, the whole works. They have mentioned Cancun, Mexico, high end resorts in the Caribbean but told me to choose where I would like to go.The thing is that I don't know if I should go because I have no friends whatsoever and no one to go with. We are going to Beaches Turks and Caicos in June and then in July we are going to Dreams Cancun. im going on a school grad trip to cancun once we graduate high school and as excited as i am i am equally as worried about what im suppose to do about my stretch marks! i gained 10 lbs last year due to stress and my pure laziness causing me to get this hideous array of stretch marks all over my inner thighs and a few on my hips. I've lately began my way to my former weight and back in shape however though i had my weight gain i never considered myself fat and neither have my peers. so really my problem is i've tried every product out there. nothing has faded them. and i have NO idea what i can possibly wear in mexico to swim in. i feel like a fool not being able to look cute in the summer, especially on vacation with all my friends! im not there to impress anyone but i just want to feel confident and comfortable with myself while at my destination. :(... anyone with ideas on what i can possibly wear as a swim suit (short board shorts barely cover my stretch marks and i think i look ridiculous in long board shorts) or DO about my stupid stretch marks which are completely reluctant to fading. more

First off I'd like to know some very hot spots for summer vacations. I have obviously looked into the usuals like costa rica, cabo, cancun, some in cali and on the east coast so if you guys could just weigh in on some spots you think are awesome that would be great. I'm trying to book a vacation for me and my boyfriend, who is 21, to Cancun this summer. He came to the U.S. from Russia when he was a kid, and has been here under "permanent resident" status. Last month, he took and passed the citizenship test, but has yet to go to court to be officially sworn in, which could take months. Would he be able to fly to Mexico without being a U.S. citizen? Or would he just need a passport? Any answers would help, thanks! more

Hi my name is Paul and I am looking to plan my first vacation for this coming summer. I am looking to go somewhere like Cancun or something like that. I want to go in late July or early August. What I need help with is deciding where to go for the cheapest price. My ideal vacation is going to Cancun for 5 nights in an all inclusive hotel for under 1800 dollars for two people...So far I haven't found an option this cheap. I will be departing from the Des Moines airport in Iowa, United States. Does anyone have any specific all inclusive hotels that are cheaper but still pretty nice in mind? Also, it doesn't necessarily have to be Cancun, I just want an all inclusive hotel with white sands right next to it, you know? The hotel HAS to be all inclusive. After answering so many questions on here, I finally have one of my own. I was dating my boyfriend for 2 1/2 years when things just weren't going well anymore. I thought maybe I just needed time, so I used my summer vacation as the opportunity. In Cancun with some friends, I met this amazing guy from Scotland and fell in love. We slept together and I broke up with my boyfriend when I got back to New York, realizing that it just wasn't working. Now, a few months later, my ex boyfriend is still devastated over the fact that he'll "never find anyone like me." I agreed to meet up with him in the city. Basically, I ended up being late, so he met me at my room and we ended up sleeping together. Since I respect my current bf, I knew I needed to tell him. All this happened last night and I told him today. He's saying that it's unforgivable, but he said he'll think about trying to move past it. He canceled his flight to visit me this October and I had to put our concert tickets up for sale. This is strange to me because he was the guy I ended up with that made my ex devastated, and now he thinks he's the only victim. I just don't really know what to do. My one night with my ex was followed by hysterical breakdown in guilt right in front of him. I've been dry-heaving all day and am just plain upset. I don't know if there's anything I can do. Resolved Question: Boyfriend's mom asking for money...?

My boyfriend has had his growing teenage brother spend about 5-6 weeks with him over the summer. So he has spent all the money feeding him and such, (growing boy eats a ton!!). That wasn't so bad since he enjoys his company and he doesn't really see him during the school year. I don't know if there's "more to the story" as to why his parents have no problem dropping him off for a very long extended period of time, and extend the date on when they can pick him up. But that's not the full point here.. I was sitting on the bed with my boyfriend when he received a text from his mom, he opened it and his text read, "Can I borrow $50? Not sure about repayment." I found this odd. His parents both work full time, only have one kid living at home, and somehow have enough money to buy new cars and his mom goes on vacation to Cancun and to a cabin with her girlfriends. So why is she now asking for money from her 23 year old son? I mean, $50, no biggie, it's family... I could fork that over np, but I'm more worried about this becoming an issue in the future if I continue to be with him... if he starts to drop money all the time for his mom who clearly thinks she has enough to go on beachside vacations occassionally and buy new SUVs. I would think since she didn't have a mouth to feed (his younger brother) for 6 weeks, she would've saved $50... Again I'm not too worried about this particular situation, just wondering if this could be signs to a beginning of a lifelong struggle. She has a history of making him feel guilty if he doesn't do what she likes so I'm scared she's taking advantage of knowing he is now making more money than her. more

Voting Question: Good female friend belives she's fat (when really she isn't). How can I convince her otherwise?

My female friend, who I consider as a sister, has had some self-esteem issues. For the past few months (since the end of winter vacation), she always would bring up that "I'm so fat", or "I have thunder thighs" or "I'm a whale-cow" etc. Initially I thought she was joking, since she would usually bring it up in a light hearted way. But one day I confronted her and she admitted that her weight is what makes her feel insecure. I gave her a long talk, trying to convince that I say she's not fat not just because I'm a guy friend, but because it's true. Also she helped me boost my self esteem when I had issues, so I felt it was hypocritical that she was down on herself like that. The talk worked for about two days. Yesterday she and my best friend (they're dating) went to the mall. She came back and told me that when she tried on a bikini (she and the boyfriend are going to Cancun this summer), it depressed her that she feels fat. Is there anymore I can do to convince her otherwise? more

My boyfriend and I are planning vacation this summer in Mexico. We were really hoping for beautiful beaches and snorkelling. I red a lot of reviews of Cancun destinations and many were mentioning not such great beaches due to the rocks...This makes me lean toward going to Riviera Maya. However, I also do not want to get stuck at the resort for 7 days. How far away are other attractions such as restaurants and shops at Riviera Maya? and how difficult to get there? (We live in Alabama.) We have ruled out Cancun, because, though I was personally voting for this one, my parents said, it's just another beach...
