Resolved Question: How do I know if i have dandruff or lice?
Okay, so I think i am mostly just paranoid... about a month ago, school ended....about 2 or one week before school ended, I heard that 2 girls had lice. This made me extremely grossed out and paranoid, so I freaked out and became obsessed with checking all the time, because it thouroughly grosses mee out!! Now its about a month into summer vacation, and i like completely forgot about the idea of lice until now...when i saw a couple white flakes in my hair... - i hardly ever itch - i have extremely thick hair and my whole family gets dandruff...i have had dandruff before - i have head and shoulders but i dont really use it a lot - i dont have a lot of the little white spots and they are usually farther away from my scalp - they come of pretty easily, sometimes when my mom or i try to get it out to look at it, our finger moves in and it gets lost in my hair, so yea they are easy to move around and take out So yea, I want to be realllyyyy sure that i do not have lice because its extremely gross oh and by the way, i am a hypochondriac :/ ....sooooooo i get worried veryyy easily over stuff like this.... :/ PLEASEE help me figure this out i want peace of mind :'( moreResolved Question: Good summer vacation spots?

Her father was a hot shot lawyer and her mom was one of the top surgeons in the country. But the summer of her 18th birthday everything went wrong. Amber, her boyfriend Scott, and a few others had taken her fathers small private jet to their summer home in Miami. But on the way, one of the engines caught fire. Everyone on the plane spent 30 minutes of hell while the pilot attempted to crash land the plane. The pilot underestimated the distance, and they crashed into the forest a 100 ft away from their desired landing spot. Finally waking up from the crash, Amber clutched her head, all the blood had rushed to her head as she was partially hanging upside down. Agonizingly she turned her head to Scott who was sitting beside her. "Scott, baby, are you okay?" Amber asked as she tried to get out of the seatbelt. The seatbelt having gotten jammed in the crash refused to budge. "Scott, you have to help me with my seat belt. I can't get it undone, it's jammed." Finally really looking at Scott, Amber sees that he's not moving. That he's not even trying to help her. Reaching out she angrily hits him on the arm. The arm she hits is cool to the touch. Recoiling in shock, Amber tentatively reaches for Scott's arm again. Slowly shaking his shoulder, she sees his head move bonelessly with the movement. His once beautiful chocolate brown skin had a waxy sheen. Amber covers her mouth with her hands, sobbing in shock and grief. She eventually drifted off to sleep from exhaustion. For all you pink Floyd fans out their did you hear they have a wine called pink Floyd? June 6 (Bloomberg) -- Who knew I would ever have anything in common with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? It turns out we're *like*this* when it comes to wine, because we're all fans of Chateau Miraval. That's the extraordinarily beautiful and secluded wine estate in Provence that they have just rented for three years. Lucky them -- and I can vouch for it. I spent a couple of nights there nine years ago while tasting my way through the region and can report that the world's most famous couple will have more than decent wines to sip when in residence. Miraval now produces three fish-friendly dry whites, two savory reds, a delicious dry rose and a luscious sweet wine, L'Or de Miraval. Tile roofs, sky-blue shutters, warm creamy stone, plashing fountains, 13 varieties of olive trees on a steep terraced hillside, 75 acres of vineyards -- Miraval is everyone's secret dream of a home in the south of France. From my room in the 14th- century part of the chateau, the view stretched over a wide green lawn to rows of vines. A deep, claw-footed tub by one window offered the same vista while I was lolling in the bath, a glass of refreshing rose in hand. (I take my research seriously.) After breakfast, on a terrace under a pergola, I sampled the estate's wines in a light-filled room off the country kitchen and later dined with neighboring producers in the long medieval hall with immense fireplace. I also took a peek at the recording studio on the property (Sting once used it; the Stones left after one night -- not enough local action). The estate even has a tiny private chapel, whose dark blue painted ceiling is dotted with white stars. `Out of the Sky' For the past two months, the French press reported Brad and Angelina crisscrossing France in a helicopter, hunting for a private spot to escape hordes of paparazzi. Tom Bove, whose family owns the property, told me last week ``they dropped out of the sky.'' ``They're personally very nice,'' he said in the telephone interview. ``Brad is from the Midwest, as I am.'' (Hey, me too!) Bove, 65, is an Indiana-born businessman (Rochem Group) who fell in love with Miraval in 1992 when he and his first wife, Jane, were looking for a vacation home. He persuaded his family to purchase the 1,000-acre estate, where wine had been made for centuries. His wife took charge of the vineyards, and they set about vastly improving the wines' quality. Tragically, she died in a 1998 plane crash. Miraval Team The winery and vineyard will continue to be run by the Miraval team, Bove assures me. The Pitt-Jolie household, including four kids plus expected twins (who may or may not already have arrived when you read this), won't have to worry about toxic chemical sprays on the grapes since the vineyards are certified organic. And the nearby hamlet of Correns is the first ``bio'' (organic) village in France, meaning veggies, honey and chickens all carry the label. Besides celebs and St.-Tropez, Provence is, of course, noted for its gulpable rose wines. When Brad and Angelina first visited, they tried the savory, salmon-colored 2007 Chateau Miraval Cotes de Provence Rose ($16) with lunch. ``It's the first vintage to be labeled ``Pink Floyd,'' Bove says. (English rock band Pink Floyd recorded part of their iconic album ``The Wall'' at Studio Miraval.) Made from cinsault and grenache grapes, it's my idea of summer in a glass. ``And they took away a bottle of our top red, Cuvee Natouchka,'' Rove adds. The 100 percent syrah ($35) is made only in the best years. Their more widely available Cotes de Provence Rouge ($22) is a spicy, earthy-fruity syrah-cabernet blend. Zingy Whites Miraval's three whites are all made from the local rolle grape. The 2005 Coteaux Varois en Provence Blanc ($16) is zingy and assertive, with a hint of almond, perfect with grilled fish. Two more expensive barrel-aged cuvees, made in tiny quantities, are harder to come by. Naturally, the Brangelina buzz has already spurred sales. ``We've been inundated with calls from retailers,'' says Andrew Hirko, chief financial officer at the chateau's East Coast importer, Monarchia Matt International. ``We're sold out of the rose, and the red and white are nearly gone.'' The 2007 Pink Floyd will be on retail shelves soon. One of their biggest markets? Another celebrity haven, the Hamptons. ``I don't know how much time Brad and Angelina will be able to spend here,'' Bove says. ``But they liked Miraval's wines. I hope they'll drink them and serve them to their friends. Hey -- they can have as much as they want.'' (Elin McCoy writes on wine and spirits for Bloomberg News. The opinions expressed are her own.) Soooooo I just came up with the brilliant idea of planning a family reunion for my mom's side of the family! I would plan it during the summer because that would give me enough time to plan it and the weather will be nice then! We have family in basically three different spots: the midwest, colorado, and Alaska! I personally live where my grandparents live and where the most of the family grew up, so I feel it would be most appropriate to have the family reunion here, that way I could plan whatever needed to be planned! I would feel bad asking my relatives to pay for expensive plane tickets.. I know most of them can afford it .. but at the same time the economy is terrible and I wouldn't want to put any financial pressure on anyone. I need some ideas of what to plan for the family though! We do live by a lake that is VERY popular in the summer, but we dont' have a boat big enough for everyone, so renting can get quite expensive! I know the reunion needs to centered around spending time together, BUT I also want everyone to have a good time (not be bored). A lot of my family hasn't seen eachother in quite some time and I want everyone to be able to spend quality time together, but while having fun! With all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, I need activities for the ages 2-80. I know there is a large house near the lake that is available for rent-that actually might be better if we all stayed there-but on the other hand a lot of the families live in this city. I don't want to have our families stay in hotels (yes they could stay with me and my family, but there just simply isn't enough room for everyone!) Btw- I am a college-aged student living at home, so as you can imagine I have never planned something like this. Do I email all the relatives and find out dates they for sure could not attend something like this in the summer? I think family is SO important and it breaks my heart to see our busy lives keeping us apart. I think it'd be great to have everyone go on a fun, eventful, and relaxing vacation, but I dont' feel comfortable asking for everyone to pay for something like that. If you got this far, THANKS FOR READING! Any ideas that you think would be fun-all are greatly appreciated! :) THANKS! moreResolved Question: Family Vacation ideas?

If so, please include info about each spot, if you can. Thanks. If it helps, we're in Texas moreResolved Question: What do you think of my short story? I got bored and wrote it, im in the 9th grade.?
When I recall some of the best times in my life, I often think about a little trip I took back in the summer of '04. If made into a movie, this story could be considered a drama, comedy, or even a romance tale, but most would consider it all three rolled into one. It came about suddenly and unexpectedly. My friend of many years, Bert, and his mother decided to join several of their friends at the last minute on a trip to their favorite vacation spot, Destin, Florida. I was then invited along by Bert as we did most everything together. Besides the planning that comes along with most vacations, it started out very typical. We loaded up the car on a Friday afternoon, and planned to leave the next morning, however, at 3 AM we all three, (Bert, myself, and Bert's mom), found ourselves wide awake and, figuring we wouldn't get much sleep anyway, decided to depart for Florida right then and there. After a quick stop at Hardee's to fulfill our late night munchies, we were on our way. To take up the time we decided to watch some movies on a portable DVD player we had brought along, which in theory was a good idea, but not in the backseat with Bert. He was quickly asleep and had taken up most of the room. I tried to keep my own space, but within 30 minutes he had sprawled out all over the backseat, including on top of me, and I couldn't stand it. I decided to move up to the front seat with Bert's mom, which wasn't so bad, except for the fact that for the next eight hours, of which about 3 of them I had the pleasure of sleeping, she forced me to listen to some of the worst music I have ever experienced in my entire life. I'm still not quite sure who it was singing, but a female country singer giving her rendition of famous Elvis songs has never sounded so bad. At about noon my ears were finally granted some relief when Bert awoke and commanded his mom to turn on some new music and stop torturing me. The next few hours were not so bad. I had good music, someone to talk to, and some nice ocean views. Even with all this, the time couldn't come soon enough for us to get out of the car and get our vacation started. Right around 3PM we finally rolled into the parking lot of our motel, The Ocean Moon Inn. I couldn't wait to get unpacked, get poolside, and get some tropical drinks in my hand...sure, I got all that, but I also got something I didn't bargain for. As I stepped out of the car the first thing I had to do was stretch, as it had been a very long and cramped ride. As I was doing so I gazed up to take in what would be my home for the next week, and as I swung my view from left to right, there she was, sitting with a group of friends on the staircase leading up to the second floor. We made eye contact for what seemed to be forever, and then she glanced away. My heart thumped, I felt a sudden rush of adrenaline, and then I quickly grabbed my bags and made my way down a hallway and out of sight to think about what had just happened. I wasn't sure if Bert had seen her or not, I was sure he noticed the loud group of mostly boys surrounding one or two girls, but I wasn't sure if he had really noticed the one that I had, or the way that she looked at me. The motel was a sort of "L" shape. It had two stories, and was quite small with only about 30 rooms. They all opened up to the pool which was in the center of the "L". It was an outdoor motel with no lobby, no indoor hallways, no convention rooms, as in you were either inside a bedroom, or you were outdoors. Bert followed me as we quickly made our way to room 205. We were familiar with its location as we had both stayed in it only a year before, along with Bert having stayed in it with his family for nearly the past 5 years. We opened the door and a cool breeze rushed us from inside the room. Bert unknowingly plopped down onto one of the beds, and rolled over as if to go to sleep. I stood there for a few moments and then blurted out, "Did you see that girl?" "What girl," said Bert, his voice muffled by the pillow his face was planted in. "The one at the top of the steps!" Bert rolled over, "Which one at the top of the steps...the dark haired one?" I nodded my head. "Yeah, what about her?" said Bert.” Did you think she was hot?" I didn't reply. I just stood there with a "DUH" look on my face. A few more seconds passed and finally Burt assured me, "She wasn't that great." Dismissing the idea entirely and rolling back over. For the next hour or two we relaxed, watched MTV, and ate Cheetos...correction, Bert relaxed, watched MTV, I also ate the Cheetos (and some Ho-Ho's), but I couldn't do anything but think about those few seconds that I made eye contact with the girl on the stairs and the feeling that she gave me, even though I didn't even know her. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, as Bert obviously didn't feel the same way as I did, but I couldn't get her out of my head. The opinions expressed are her own.) Last year we didn't get to go on a vacation, but this year we're looking to go away this summer. I'm thinking about where our vacation might be this Summer. Disney was by far mine and the kids favorite vacation, but I don't know if my husband can handle any more Cinderella and Mickey *yet*. The Smithsonian museums are a definite in the spring. We all agree with the beach (big beach bums)- but I was hoping to get some new ideas. Do you have a favorite family vacation spot?To those who think they aren't helping- you are! I'm really sort of clueless right now. lol Stay@homemomma, my kids are 6 and 10. We've been going to Sunset Beach, North Carolina for the last 5 years. I love it. We've got the beach, which I love. It's close enough to Myrtle Beach that I can drive the kids there for fun, which the kids love... but far enough away that we aren't surrounded by Myrtle's commercialism, which my husband & I both love and just saturated w/ golf courses... good for hubby! It's got it all. And the prices down there are really, really reasonable. But, I was just curious if anyone else knew of a similar type vacation spots... just for a little variety - our kids will be 10,7, and 2 1/2 by next summer when we go. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! moreResolved Question: Vacation spot ideas for October in Ohio, Southern Michigan, or Eastern Indiana
Since my family was unable to go on vacation this summer, we have decided to go while my brother and I are on fall break from college. We are planning to go in October (there will be six people), but we don't know where we really want to go because everyone has different interests. Mom: likes to look at collectibles, flea markets, and normal touristy spots. Dad: enjoys historic places and normal touristy spots without much walking involved Sister (age 26): not real picky Brother (age 18): really enjoys the outdoors and gets bored quickly Brother's girlfriend (age 18): not real picky...she goes with the flow Me (age 20): I like normal touristy places that are interesting to all ages...if something is boring, I tend to get annoyed and irritated. Some tips about us: Don't tell us to go to Cedar Point...we live 30 minutes away and have been there countless times If it is a state park or something, it needs to have a lodge because none of us are camping out-type people...even my brother We already have Mohican State Park and Amish Country in mind if we can't find anything else to do...we also thought about Frankenmuth, MI moreResolved Question: Best AF base?
So I need to decide where I'm going. I've already got a job working on electronic components of fighter jets. I have yet to ship out to boot camp. My recruiter is trying to tell me that Arizona is nice. I just imagine Arizona as a desert that's too hot to do much of anything. Is he just telling me AZ because there are spots there that need to be filled? I live in Georgia now. I kinda want to go to a place far from family. I just want to get away from everyone. You know, be truly independent. A friend recommended Florida, saying that I'd get home sick and the USA is the best place to live after spending a summer in Russia. I really like the idea of beaches, as I've never had the opportunity to be around them much before. Also, everyone goes to Florida for vacation, so it must be nice, huh? But I don't like the fact that it's still so close to home. I want to really feel like I'm on my own. I think it would be like an adventure to go overseas. I'd like to see the world outside Georgia.Thank you everyone for the answers! I'd better get a new passport in case I manage to get overseas! moreResolved Question: Cheap vacation spots in Michigan?

We have a family of 5, with 3 teenagers. During the hot summer nights i went out partying a lot with my friends and one night i just ended up being so drunk that i hooked up with this hot kind stranger. He was a friend's friend's friend so i didn't really know a lot about him except we had a bit of chemistry. After that night i didn't really get to see him again because i left on vacation to south america with friends and family. A week later i came back and it was time to go back to school so i was hoping to see him around. Unfortunetly when i spotted him from a friend who pointed him out he happened to have a girlfriend. I didn't bother even talking to him after that so things got really confusing after that. When he finally recognized me he'd flirt with me and always stare at me even around his girlfriend, but i didn't like that so i kinda cut off conversating with him. Months pass and he still smiles, glares, whatches etc. What does this guy want? Is he a player? He only really dos this with me however.. moreResolved Question: Vacation spots?
