Open Question: What do you think of my poem?

This is my poem. I'm just going to say the poem right now so you can read it and then i will explain it. I want to know what you think of it, what you liked and didnt like, where there should be punctuation, and i want to give more detail in the poem about the setting and characters so also think about how i can do that. The poem is called Deep Sea Fishing; The first time I got on the boat in a while I saw you standing there With your fishing gear Your hat and mud boots were shades of gray The smell of fish in the bay We drove off into the deep ocean blue What I felt about you I didnt have a clue By the end of the trip I knew I would flip If I saw you again Two years later, August 13, 2008 I went through the gate And saw the first mate Unless my eyes played a trick It was the same guy back from 2006 I saw the blond hair, the hat, the mud boots too And thought, it was all too good to be true My heart skipped a beat I almost fainted and fell off my feet I knew it was him Or an identical twin We said hello And got ready to go I was happy as could be Even though my family teased me We hit our first fishing spot I guess we really hit the jackpot Turned away I felt an enormous tug And screamed right away I turned around, the first mate was right there Ready to help in the time of my scare It was my wish To catch a bluefish That night was a lot of fun I wonder whether or not this is done Or if there's fate Between me and the first mate So now i'll explain it. I think the poem was a little confusing and unclear. A bunch of people in my family were on the boat. There was about 40 people on the boat. Out of those 40 about 20 or 25 of them were my family. I have a huge extended family and some people went deep sea fishing some didnt. We go on vacation to the same beach every year during the summer and this is one of the things we do on the vacation. What happened was the first time i had gone deep sea fishing in a long time, cuz i was a little scared to go for a while before that i was about 13 and had a crush on the first mate who was a bit older than me like probable about 18. I wanted ti see him again the next year we went but i didnt. Then the year after that which was two years after the first time i met him cuz he was the first mate, i saw him again. I actually saw him a third time just last summer too but i didnt include that in the poem. I dont know if i should. So thats the poem and my explanation. Can you tell me what oyu think of it, how to improve it, and if u understood it and anything else u want to add. more

so me and my dad whos 53 and my cousin whos 15 and im 14 are going to miami. we might bring along two other really close family members who are in their 40s. anyway, i go to miami every year but it seems like theres not alot to do so this year i want to plan something extrodinary. so far we planned dolphin swimming, water tubing, banana boating, universal studios, possibly disneyworld epcot, a day on the beach. we need more ideas so if you have any please tell and also is the nikelodean park any good? im going to check that out as well. thanks guys for your help!we also have speed boating and slip and slide rentalpossibly cruising and busch gardens more

we are going to the beach the last couple of days in May first week in June..Lillian will be almost 31/2 months old than..my boys will be 4 and 3 and they have always went on vacations with us..even as newborns.. plus we are going camping probably at least 2 times this summer and Lillian will be anywhere from4-8 months old.. we are a very active family so we have tons of day trips planned too..were going to the zoo, water park, boating, hiking, sea world, Valley Worlds of Fun, places like that.. i really need that movie so bad beautiful movie in my opinion.. here it is There was a young boy who went to a vacation with his family while they were driving to the place to spent their summer vacation. there was one scene i remember. His older brother was listen to a music in a old fashion way with cassette well the younger brother witch is the the young boy didn't like him just a regular little and big brothers fight. He threw the cassette out of the car windows... 2. That young boy met an old men who was kinds handy kept the boy really like that old men and was a man with allot of stories. They went on a boat at one scene and didn't quite remember what they were doing. But the old man fell into the sea so he couldn't swim and rescued himself. If so where are you guys going? We want to really go to Myrtle Beach this summer..we are planning on doing it..its just going to be so expensvie..we live 8-10 hours away from the beach (we will have a 4, 3 and 3month old baby when we go so thats why it takes longer for us to get there).. We also go on tons of mini trips..we go camping, boating, zoo trips, black water falls, seneca rocks, places like that!! So I'm already thinking about next summers vacation and was thinking of going back to the East Coast specifically Jersey Shore..any suggestions for a 12yr old boy (he'll be close to 13 next summer) and a very young (see cougar l0l) 30something mom? Not really a fan of Atlantic City...but I would like something family orientated AND has some fun nightlife/fine dining as well. Voting Question: Is my friend gay for me and if so what should I do?

So I am a Canadian who went on a working holiday to Ireland for a year. While I was there I met a guy and we quickly became good friends and we did everything together from going to the shop for five minutes to shopping. We even moved with each other on 4 different occasions. We drank together all the time just me and him and we shared stories with each other. Towards the end of the trip we would sleep in the same room on separate couches eventhough we each had our own rooms. On a couple of occasions we even shared a bed eventhough there were other options available and we would never wear pants when we slept either in the same bed or on the couches. I also know that he has talked to his family about me lots as they all wished me well when i had to leave. However my friend did sleep with women while i was there as well, and at one point I had a friend from Canada come and visit me and the two hooked up (no sex). Eventually my visa finished and i returned to canada and we continued to keep in touch via facebook and IM. In the summer after being home for only four months me and my friend (the one who he made out with who now had a major crush on him) went back to Ireland. While there we did not sleep int he same room and he and my friend ended up having sex (although my friend is really headstrong and would easily initiate things). But when we went to Ireland we went to a music festival. While there him and my friend shared a blanket yet each night usually a part of my body was touching his. Then when we were really drunkwe both went to the portapottys to pee and when i opened the door he was standing there and he rushed in and shut the door, grabbed me by the hips, looked me int he eyes and said that he was soo happy to see me and that it kinda sucked that my other friend was there. This was followed by a short awkward silence of us staring into each others eyes and holding each other by the hips like he was expecting a kiss but i was paralyzed with joy and he leaned in and licked my face and said my friend is so hot though and ran out the door. Shortly after this we went to the concert area and he kept saying lets go to the washroom and i said yes lets go but we never did. Eventually i left by myself to go see a band that none of the other people really knew and when we left each other eventhough it was only gonna be for like an hour or so we gave each other a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Later int he vacation we decided to get dressed up in our nice clothes and go drinking just for fun. Numerous times when we were getting ready he told me i looked good. Tehn after a few pints he started dancing up on me, moreso me than my friend. Then he would unbutton his shirt and get me to motorboat him which i was happy to do and he motorboated me and at one point unbuttoned his shirt and, grabbed my hand, and made me touch his chest. This made me happy cuz i thought he actually did like me and throughout the day we would constantly go to the washroom with eachother and try to get a stall just for us. ianlly later int he night we went to the washroom and the stall opened up and i signalled to him so we both went in. I unbuttoned his shirt again and motorboated him and then kissed him on the cheek in a somewhat passionate way. He did not respond and left shortly after. We have yet to ever bring these up again. Later the same summer he came to canada but this time spent most of his time at my friends house (the one that he slept with) and even went on a boating trip with her without me. Needless to say his trip to canada wasnt asnice as my trip to Ireland, nothing exceptional happened other than a drunken trip to the washroom once again when camping but both of us were too sober i think. To this day we talk nearly daily and he had sent me a bday card for my bday and called me on my bday. hes constantly asking me when can i come back to ireland cuz he cant wait for another airport reunion. As to what hes saying to my other friend that he claims he likes im not sure but they dont seem to be talking as often as they used to. Now he is planning on coming to canada for a year and is planning to come sooner than previously planned and once told me if he could afford it he would come now. he already has told me he is living with me (which is about 4 hours drive away from my female friend). I am madly in love with him and think about him constantly and hes my best friend to and dont wanna risk losing him as a friend so how should i proceed? Theres many more things that have made me wonder about whether he is gay or straight but this question is already long enough. Also his parents are really old school and religious which i think would inhibit him on coming out completely but he knows that i can keep secrets so im not sure. Also Ireland isnt exceptionally as gay friendly as Canada.Also should I wait until we are face to face to tell him this or should I send him an email so that he knows before he fully commits to coming to canada and living with me. more

Resolved Question: In regards to inviting wedding guests...how do I explain separate from invitation that the location....?

....is also to enjoy as family/friend vacation. We are thinking of having our wedding in Lake George, NY which is 2 hours north of where most of our family lives, but we have out of state family and friends. The reason for this location is because every summer we go up with family and/or friends for our summer vacation..and love it every time! We never get bored and there are so many things to do for many different ages. We just want our family and friends to enjoy this as an opportunity of not only to see us unite as one, for our wedding, but for them to enjoy Lake George at least once in their lives having fun...kind of like killing two birds with one stone. And we know that some of the family/friends have already been there, but love going there - so it won't be boredom to them... So, how do we explain/list the attractions/events/fun spots to the guests, and to explain to them that we want them to enjoy as a family vacation. We'll be doing it in the summer time, most likely in August month....We want to explain that they can either pay for a room at the reception/wedding location, or there's other hotel/motels near or even to go camping.... the next day after the wedding we'd be boating and swimming and tubing, and all this stuff. The day of the wedding, we'll have the reception and end up finishing at night with a bonfire on the beach... maybe fireworks... but you get the drift....sorry so detailed/lengthy... Thanksand No, I'm not FORCING anyone to make it a vacation. There are people that have never been there and I don't want them thinking they have to "waste a trip" to a wedding for JUST a wedding. That's my explanation... I just want to let them know if they're unsure of coming because of distance...that they can make it "worth while" then JUST a wedding.... if they don't or can't come, that's fine... I just was wanting them to be informed. more

Resolved Question: Does it feel like people are making your wedding a vacation?

I live in Central PA, and most of mine & fiance's family are about 3hr drive away. The wedding is 10/31/09. We regularly invite relatives to come out & stay with us during the spring & summer to sightsee in our area - within an hour or less are Lancaster, Hershey, Gettysburg and more. So far only a few of my relatives have come out here. Our wedding will be where I am and I feel like their travel agent more than like a bride planning a wedding... I've got relatives asking me if the hotel I blocked rooms at has a pool - it does, but it is outdoors so will be closed at the time of the wedding. I've got others asking about how they can make it to Hersheypark before the wedding - the park is open for their "in the dark" times of about 4pm to 9pm Friday and 2pm to 9pm on Saturday & Sunday - - which are in total conflict with the rehearsal (4pm Friday), rehearsal dinner, and wedding (3pm Saturday). I'm just wondering if others have the same feeling ... does it seem like your family cares more about the tourist attractions near you or do they care more about the wedding? It is also frustrating because we are always offering people to come stay with us to do these things when it is mutually convenient. Having to play tour guide on top of prep for my wedding is not something I had planned to do or have alot of time to do for them and I sometimes feel a bit rude saying things like "yes, hershey is open these hours, but hubby is a groomsman and your daughter is my flowergirl and the times are a direct conflict with the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding". Anyone else in the same boat?As for the expenses they are incurring - we've got blocked rooms for $40 to $90 per night. Anyone that is in town on Friday is invited to the rehearsal dinner so they won't have an extra cost for that meal. The wedding is Saturday and includes a full dinner plus open bar so they won't have meal expenses that day. The hotels I blocked at all offer free continental breakfasts so they will be out the cost of hotel and lunches only. For the wedding party, we do need them here for 2 nights, but a guest could arrive Saturday morning, stay only 1 night, and go home Sunday for as little as $40 + tax for their room plus the cost of gas.I put an insert in the save-the-date and the invite with all the hotel info/amenities (including one that I didn't block at that does have an indoor pool). I also have the link to the wedding website on everything for the wedding plus the signature line of my e-mail and the wedding website repeats all the hotel info AND includes a 'Local attractions' page. Its like they don't read it! And let me state - - these people live a 3 hour drive away (not plane ride). They are one state away. My fiance & I go to events near them all the time - - sometimes driving there & back the same day, sometimes just staying over 1 night. more

So we met each other in FL vacationing 6 years ago and havent seen each other in 6 years and we spent 2 weeks over the summer together in FL...he is my neighbor in FL. his family took me everywhere and we went on their boat everyday to an island and me and this guy played catch with football and he tried to run and make me chase him. at night all the kids would hang outside and it would end up just being me and him and my cousin and his cousin. he would stay home from the boat trips if i didnt go and he would go swimming and look over to see if i was out and we would swim together than go in the kayak together and splash each other or sometimes we went for bikerides and he bought me icecream than said i have a house to show you thats so expensive and he pretended he lost it and we rode for a while up and down streets. the night he left it was just me and him out on the dock and we were looking at the stars and than he hugged me goodbye and we text and he said hes gonna miss me and i said i miss him already...we live 5 hours away and have continued to text everynight for a couple hours we say how we miss each other and wish we could see each other and we started saying stuff like goodnight with hearts and he does it back....btw we are 16 the past couple nights he hasn't texted me every single night because he was tired from work which i understand just letting you know please try and give detail in your answer or explain why you think that thankss:)btw yes i do like him A LOT...and how should i ask him in a text if he likes me without sounding too desperate? more

Mom and Dad left me a trust fund for my education and early life of ($470,000) and about $5.4 million in strait cash in 6 bank accounts. I also got their three houses (an Oregon home appraised at $1.8 million) and a winter vacation home (appraised at $979,000 in Hawaii), and an Alaska summer home (appraised at 2.2 million). There is about $260,000 worth of stocks from Exxon Mobile, Apple, and Dell as well. All the homes are fully paid off and there is no mortgage debt. I was left with three cars, four snow mobiles, and our family sail boat/RV. I am 18 and about to go off to college in California. I am still really depressed and the thought of their money makes me kind of sick right now. I am wondering what I should do or how I should manage it all??? Should I give it all to charity? I live with my boyfriend and I feel like he does not care about my life and my happiness. We have been together for 2 1/2 years and he has yet to ever take me out on a date. Well now its summer time, and for the second year in a row I have a feeling that he will not do one thing with me. I sit in the house all day every day and I don't usually mind it, but now I am there even more now that I just recently got fired from my job. I have no friends. I tried to make friends, but noone ever wants to talk to me. Since I don't get out much Im on the computer a lot so I use Facebook and Myspace to try to contact people. Anyways, he is going on vacation soon with his friend and dad, and for the second year in a row I was not invited. Im not invited to concerts, days at the beach/park, NOTHING. In fact we just went to the store a few minutes ago, which was actually fun because I don't get to see anything other than the house usually, and his dad asked if I wanted to go fishing with them, but my boyfriend quickly told me there wasn't enough room on the boat. I almost started crying in the middle of wal-mart, but I made sure to tell his dad that I didn't really mind (lie). It just hurts so bad to see everyone around me living their lives and having friends and family ( I have no family I was raised a foster child, my mother's dead and my father was an abusive alcoholic). Resolved Question: We want to get married in Maui, Hawaii (Wailea) in July?

My fiance and I want to get married this summer, end of June or early to mid July, in Maui, Hawaii. I like the Wailea area. Ultimately, I'd like to stay at the Grand Wailea but am open to other resorts (although we could marry at the resort or have the ceremony elsewhere but stay there instead). I've always wanted a candlelight ceremony and in a church or chapel. I'd also prefer to have a pastor marry us. We're not super religious but we want it to be a holy ceremony or have religious elements to the ceremony or vows. The "Grand" has a package like that but it's just going to be us...and maybe a couple of friends??? Basically, something simple, with candles and roses. I do want a videographer and photographer. And, I have no idea who I'd go to either to do my hair and make-up (but a resort should have a salon). A recommendation for that however, would be great...this is the day I should look exceptionally beautiful so I'm nervous to go somewhere I've never been and unfamiliar with not knowing what I'm going to look like afterwards! =) We want to vacation there so why not elope there too! And due to cost of travel for friends and family, we've decided that eloping while vacationing would be lovely and then we'd have a reception with everyone here in our home town and leave the reception celebration on our boat during a popular August boating event. =) Now that I've provided some of the details of what we've decided, I could use some help or suggestions on how we can make this happen! Cost is a factor...especially with a new baby on the way (but at least I have LOTS of air travel miles which should take care of our airfare)! Hello everyone, I'm a high school junior, and I am in a program that is preparing me for college and such. However attending school for 4-6 years right out of high school does not interest me, in face I dont feel like I will be ready to make that commitment. One of my teachers, and fellow classmates(senior) told me about the BUNAC program, which I found to be very interesting. I'm already planning to open a separate savings account and having my earnings deposited there when I work my butt off this summer and next summer more than I ever have at my job so I can go to live there for a year in August of 2010. This gives me plenty of time to prepare, and get everything organized as far as financing and plane tickets, and even a spot in the program goes. I'll be applying for the program this coming September, which I'm thinking should be plenty of time for me to get accepted in as it is just about a year ahead of time. When I return to the states, IF I return that is, I will definitely go to college, but have also considered attending there if possible. I'm really wanting to do this, I know it is a lot of growing up to do in a year, but I also think it will be a life changing experience, and no one in my family has ever done anything like it. (hence only 3 or 4 people in my family actually graduated from college, and the rest just worked) What do you think of my plan, and if you have any suggestions please let me hear them. This is the story(it actually happened!); My family and my whole extended family and I go on vacation every summer to the beach. We also go deep sea fishing while on vacation. A few years ago when we went fishing, I met the first mate, he was a bit older than me. I developed a crush on him. I didn't talk to him much then but I really liked him. He grabbed my hand when I got on and off the boat to help me and he helped me for a few minutes while we were fishing. The next summer I hoped to see him again when we went deep sea fishing. I didn't. By the next year I had mostly forgot about him. But, when I got on the boat, immediately I saw the first mate. He looked like the one I'd seen before but I didn't think it was the same one. A minute later, the captain called us over to talk. He introduced himself and the first mate. When he said the first mate's name, immediately I knew it was the same guy. I got so excited. I told my family about him and I was flipping out over him. I couldn't believe it. I got to talk to him alot. I told him I remembered him from before(he didn't remember me and I wouldn't expect him to). That night a few special things happened. We talked alot. I this teacher I liked. Unfortunately I had to move to another building in the district and I don't get to see that teacher anymore. He emailed me over the summer pics of his vacation and emailed me like 3 weeks ago to wish me good luck this year. The thing is he gets disrespected by a lot of kids and most teachers. They are so mean to him its sad. I live abroad in South East Asia, specifically in Vietnam..I don't like it here, but surely it has a better international education to offer me, than back in my home in Sicily, Italy. Btw. I'm 16, and Italian-American 3 Weeks ago, I went for my annual visit, cause my dad's got holidays...This year I got to catch up with a friend who my parents have been friends with..and I mean family with family..my dad met the father of that family when they were both like..10? so...yea we are like best friends and that family has a daughter...about 17 years old, one year older than me. Me and her never really spoke or got to meet each other in the past, and I didn't like her, and she didn't like me. Although when we were like...from the age of 0 to 4 when I was in Sicily..our families say we were best friends, we played all the time and loved each other! This year, we met up, and I'm like..oh Hi! and so is she...not too many things to say since we never met up, but one thing was for sure, she liked me and I liked her..After a few conversations and meetings we talked very confident and I felt like I was talking to my sister! She is very talkative and open, so it's easy to talk to her.. anyway, I didn't get into the relationship discussion as asking her to get with me, cause it was too early. But she told me she didn't have a boyfriend because she likes serious relationships that last long times. She hates the short 1 week or 1 month relationship, and I know I cant promise that seeing that I live abroad. Anyway, her family is rich, and they've got this 20m long boat, rly fast 2 floors platform on top to just tan and relax...my family and their family hanged out all summer there this year.. we had the best times... and me and her..we went on top of the platform and just stayed there, me and her for hours talking and looking at the sea and beautiful sicily! it was amazing! :D And I even met her out of the boat, on the street, I had the same feeling, it was something for her, not her money or her boat...so I was happy about this.. She was truly amazing, like something I'd never seen before! Yesterday was my departure day, I spent it with her and her family, I missed her when I was standing right next to her, because I knew I had to leave her.. She was sad too when I left her...she hugged me so tight and made me promise I would come back and visit her, possibly stay there with her...Her whole family would love it if we got together, but I live abroad and it's not possible (my dad's job) besides we already tried to live back in Sicily and it's NOT worth it...we hate it! (no jobs, no education..well, international..so just doesnt work) So now I'm back home in Vietnam, missing her like crazy, already cried 5 times, trying to hide it in...even from my parents... She's on vacation in the U.K. for 8 days right now missing me as well...I'm going crazy here!!! Resolved Question: Road trip!!!?

I'm 18, and on my first summer vaction since starting college. I'm bored out of my mind, even though I'm working 3 jobs. I was thinking of going on a road trip with some of my friends. We live in San Diego, so we'd want to go somewhere close. My boyfriend hasn't ever seen the Grand Canyon, so I wanted to stop there on the way. My family has a 5th Wheel, and my best friend has a boat, so we wanted to take them possibly to a lake, maybe Lake Powell? My family always does the type of vacation with a dozen destinations because we stop at all these cool locations on the way. We went to Mt. Rushmore a few years ago, but went to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Vegas, etc. on the way there and on the way back.
