So I'm really not doing any camps/vacations until August, and I don't want to end up all bored like last summer. Most of my good friends are at camps or babysitting ALL the time, except on weekends when I'm busy. I'm 12 years old, and my mom works from 9am-11am on weekdays, and I wanted to know if any of you new any fun activities to do in the southern new hampshire area (manchester area)My mom can drive me somewhere, and I do like to do stuff with her :) moreResolved Question: Summer Vacation, Boyfriend Help?
Last night I went to the movies with my boyfriend (we're now going into 8th grade) and he's like my best friend. Unfortunatley, I am going away on this coming Monday to New Hampshire for a week (we live in VT). I told him that I'd be away, and he got really depressed. Now I know this kid pretty well, so it wasn't a fake depressed. He kept looking into my eyes and saying how he won't be able to make in two weeks without seeing me (he's going away the week after), and how much fun this school year was, and how he never wanted it to end. He told me he was going to miss me like crazy - so I was just wondering how I could stay connected with him more? Not just texting/calling? Also- I'm really upset about the end of the year. This year was the best, I got really close to some people and now we're all splitting up again to go to new classes. I don't mean this in a horrible way, but my boyfriend can be a flirt.. and he's not in my homeroom this year.. (we have 30 minutes of homeroom) is there some way I can prevent him from being over-flirty? Thanks! moreResolved Question: vacation rental house?

I have written in a few times before and got some great advice and I am in need again. The issue with my mom has been going on since July of 08. When I wrote back in August my mom was just beginning to experience Major Depression and despite all the issues with insurance and criteria for inpatient treatment, my brother, whom we sent my mother to be with because of the lack of help for her here in Florida where we live, was able to get her treatment after a little fabrication of her being suicidal. Well, she is on Wellbutrin and Zoloft and they seem to be working, I think. She is much better than she was when she left in August (she has been back in Fla. since Nov.) but she is still very fearful, confused, lacking self-esteem and very dependent on my dad and me. She is a woman who has always been bright and cheery, a multi-tasker, a shopper, loved cooking....basically a go-getter. Now she is afraid to drive, gets overwhelmed in stores and the tasks of cooking and paying bills, and fears not being with me. Mornings are the worst for her because she doesnt really want to face the day and worrys about what the day will bring and says that the first thing she thinks of is if she will see me that day. Sometimes I get really angry with all this. Not at her because I know its not something she can control, but because it is happening and I cant fix it. We all are very supportive and will do anything we can to help her, we have made many modifications to our lives. There was trauma that brought all this on so we know why it happened, my dad is selling their house to move back to New Hampshire where we come from and where she wants to move back to. In the meantime she second guesses herself and needs constant reassurance that she is "doing thing right". It's so sad to see all of this. I recently found out that when I was born my mom had to move back in with her mom because of post-partum depression, which is not uncommon. Also, when I was 16 (I am 42 now and my mom is 62), my dad had an affair and my mom had a nervous breakdown. She was in and out of hospitals (she never wanted to stay) and did not fully recover from that until she confronted the woman and put my dad through hell (which he deserved), but I was married at 19 and she was still not 100%. She was never on any meds. that time and things just seemed to work themselves out. My brother and I suffered through all this then and are suffering through it again as adults. There are times I get really worn out and think about how unfair it is to have gone through this heartache as a teenager, which impacted the decisions I made then and the responsibility I had to take on then as well, and again now at 42 with my own children and husband and job to deal with i find myself in the same position again. She does not want to be anywhere without me. The thought of me going away on vacation in the summer panics her, or her moving back to New Hampshire without me. In fact, my parents, after struggling financially for years, got to the perfect point in life with a nice house, socially and financially they were fine, family is all there, then my mom got my dad to move to Florida about 6 months after I did. I moved here to Florida because of a job transfer for my husband. We are planning to move back in about a year. I try to explain to her that she has her own life and a life with my dad and I have my own life with my family. She say's she knows but she really doesn't. I can't figure all this out and I am sure I am jumbling all this up as I am typing as I think of things, but I need some help. My mom has a psych. that she sees for meds., but has no insurance for a therapist or counseling. The trauma she experienced was a fall at work which lead to 3 surgeries, a battle that is still ongoing with workers comp., a complete change in lifestyle as well as limitations. Things ARE slowly getting resolved and progressing, but she is still stuck in this depression/anxiety, and STUCK is how she describes how she feels too. When she was in the hospital she was given psychological testing to rule out early onset of dimentia and alzheimers because of her lack of concentration and her forgetting how to do things, all turned out fine with that thankfully. Please help me if you can.She hasn't been on any pain meds. for a year or more and never really took much to begin with. moreResolved Question: Where can I find cheap, good deal, discount, reduced, wholesale, used, inexpensive, sea kayak for sale, to buy?

We are going to vacation in Maine this summer so we could pick one up almost anywhere in up state New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont (maybe), New Hampshire or Maine on the way up or on the way back. Be as creative as you wish!?
What was the most meaningful moment of your life so far? It can be anything! A meaningful family vacation, met a celebrity, what your first kiss was like. Anything at all! And be colorful and descriptive-I like reading stories. You can choose whether or not you want to read it. I attended a summer sleepaway camp with a couple of friends of mine a couple of years ago. There was one girl I became close with. We'll call her Sam. One night when me and Sam were walking back to our cabin, we were just having a friendly, yet deep, talk about life. She mentioned that she might be moving with her mum and her sister to California, which was quite a move from New Hampshire, and she seemed really excited. I asked her, "Wouldn't you miss all of your friends from home?" And her response, which I will never forget to this day, was, "Actually, you guys are probably the best friends I've ever had." Well, I thought it was sweet. =) moreVoting Question: One last translation in spanish( past imperfect)THANKS?
During my childhood i did many fun things. I was born in New York and lived there until i was 6. When i lived there my dad used to bring me to Yankees baseball games. When i was 7 i moved to Norwell. I went to the Norwell Elemenatry school with all my friends. During the fall i used to go pick out pumpkins for halloween with my family. I also played soccer and football in the fall. Every Winter i used to go skiing with my family in New Hampshire. I played hockey almost everyday during the winter also. In the spring i used to play baseball. When i was younger i also went to visit my grandpa in Florida during April Vacation. Every summer i used to go to Maine for a month with my family. Sometimes i would have friends over for a pool party in the summer moreResolved Question: College road trip or fly?

This is a true story: At approximately two o’clock in the morning a violent and to this day unexplained explosion took place in or near the radio quarters of a vessel of American registry in international waters ninety miles east of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The vessel was following a course not frequently used by planes or shipping, a fact generally known by all aboard. No message could be transmited for help, and within a matter of minutes, the explosion and ensuing fire had forced abandonment of ship. The crew succeeded in lowering only three lifeboats and throwing overboard two rafts. One of the lifeboats, which contained four members of a famous Meadowbrook College Swimming team (all American citizens), capsized as the burning vessel sank underwater. The Meadowbrook swimmers valiantly made their way to an unoccupied raft nearby. With the coming of dawn, the girls saw a vast stretch of ocean unbroken except for a large man who was slowly making his was towards the girls. He was supported by what appeared to be a small tabletop or a door. This float was badly awash and, the girls later admited, would probably not have sustained very long the weight of this heavy fellow passenger. At the same time, the girls' raft had barely room for the ladies from Meadowbrook. It had settled dangerously low in the water. This was not surprising as stamped on the raft were the words: “Recommended capacity-600 pounds.” One of the girls, a brilliant math major, had estimated the combined weights of the girls to be about 546 pounds. When the approaching man forsook his uncertain support to swim the remaining twenty yards to the girls’ raft, two of the Meadowbrook ladies expressed a reluctance to share the raft with the intruding male. By now they had all recognized the swimmer as Pat Keefe, a passenger who had been generally disliked and distrusted by most of those aboard. There had been an ugly, but unconfirmed, report among the passengers that Keefe had viciously assaulted a young lady the day preceding the explosion. At this point, another of the girls known as Big Mary Shannon (she wrestled during summer vacations to pick up money for her education), said: “This raft can never support another person. It’s either—I mean he-or all of us. I’ll take care of him.” As Keefe was about to grab the raft, Mary said, “Let me give you some help.” The other girls turned their heads away. Mary seized the tired Pat Keefe by the hair and submerged him until his struggling ceased and his body disappeared. Mary then spoke, “All right girls, now we’re safe for the present.” Nearly twenty hours later, the girls were sighted by a plane from the Brunswick Naval Air Station. The girls were shortly brought to shore in a state of hysteria and shock. During her period of recovery, Big Mary did spiels of talking in her sleep during which she related the horrors of her recent experience. After being called in to observe some of these strange talking spiels, the police investigators taped Mary’s account of taking the life of Pat Keefe. Mary had even revealed the man’s name. The police immediately checked records and discovered that Pat Keefe was an alias for Harry Miller who had been wanted in two states for murder. When Mary recovered, the police faced her with the recorded account of her experiences on the raft. After listening without protest to four playbacks, Mary said she would voluntarily admit causing the death of Pat Keefe. Throughout, she had refused to obtain an attorney. Mary has been indicted for the murder of Harry Miller, alias Pat Keefe. The judge has instructed her to enter a plea of “not guilty” which she has done, and the court has appointed a counsel to defend her. Three Claims are facing the court: Resolved: Mary Shannon is legally responsible for the murder of Harry Miller, alias Pat Keefe. Resolved: It was justifiable for Mary Shannon to murder Harry Miller, alias Pat Keefe. Resolved: The United States should imprison Mary Shannon for the murder of Harry Miller, alias Pat Keefe. I am looking for a place to go for a one week vacation with my husband and 2 and a half year old girl this summer. We really like the idea of a cottage on a lake but we would also like to have somewhere to go indoors with a toddler if the weather is no good. Last year, it rained almost all week and we were in the middle of nowhere! Any links to a website would be great too. Thanks! moreResolved Question: Where is the best place to vacation for some hiking in the Rockies?
I'm planning a summer trip out West to hike in the Rockies (for a couple with boys ages 4 and 7). I spent a day in Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado) about a decade ago and it was simply incredible. Beyond words -- but that day has been my only experience out West. Is RMNP the best place to spend a week in the mountains? Any other suggestions for locations where there will be relatively easy hiking? We'll be with active 4 and 7 year olds who "hiked" in New Hampshire this summer. Usually we are tent-campers, but since we'll be flying, we'll look into renting a cabin or maybe a lodge. We're not limited to Colorado, but would consider other areas. Mainly we want scenery that will take our breath away -- with maybe a few activities nearby that would interest the kids. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks! moreResolved Question: borred....i need somewhere fun to go.?
