Hi, I am getting married in a little over a year and would very much like to have a private wedding and mini vacation in Colorado. Neither one of us have ever been but have always wanted to. I would like a little rustic log cabin with a beautiful view, hot tub...nothing fancy beyond that. I really want a nice secluded place, but still would like to be able to drive and do some sightseeing, fishing, some really neat things that are not your typical outings. I have looked online a lot and have found a few places that interest me, but thought if I came here, there might be some personal experiences that could be shared! We would like to either climb mountains, white water raft, or see caves. There are 5 or 6 of us for either spring or summer. Winter could be done though. We would want to stay in a log cabin not surrounded by others for about a week. Or instead of the above maybe go on a houseboat. FH's family has a log cabin they use 2x a year-for summer vacation and christmas. Turns out, some old family friends of my parents have a house nearby complete with a guest house. FH and I will use it next week when we go on vacation with his parents. My parents' friends said we could use the house whenever we wanted, so I figure we could also stay there when FH and I spend every other xmas with his folks. FMIL is pissed we won't be staying in the cabin, but I want privacy and space and not to be cooped up and watched like a hawk.
