So, I'm obsessed with this certain vacation spot in northern Minnesota I go to every year. I've been going since I was an infant. As the years have gone by, I've grown to loving it more, appreciating the great times I had as a kid and just wanting and longing to be there all the time. My gramps little log cabin right smack dab on the shore of the Whitefish Chain. I enjoy bonfires around our camp fire that has been there since the villas was a resort in 1985 before it sold off. I can just hear laughter with my cousins and childhood friends who are all so close to me and it's about 50 degrees at night in the summer and I'm in a sweat shirt! I just love that.. that's home to me. I can hear the bird calls on the lake and the sounds of fish jumping. And then I come back to the place where I am, which is Mississippi and I feel like an outcast, like this isn't where I belong. It's extremely special to me. I don't think my heart can take it and I do believe I might cry when I come home this year. Ha there is no known cure really I believe for this. more

Hi, I am getting married in a little over a year and would very much like to have a private wedding and mini vacation in Colorado. Neither one of us have ever been but have always wanted to. FH's family has a log cabin they use 2x a year-for summer vacation and christmas. Turns out, some old family friends of my parents have a house nearby complete with a guest house. FH and I will use it next week when we go on vacation with his parents. My parents' friends said we could use the house whenever we wanted, so I figure we could also stay there when FH and I spend every other xmas with his folks. FMIL is pissed we won't be staying in the cabin, but I want privacy and space and not to be cooped up and watched like a hawk. I don't see what the big deal is and why FMIL can't cut the apron strings. Doesn't she realize her so has a new life now? more
