You like your soft boiled egg to be a 3-minute egg (i.e., cooked for 3 min) in Austin. During the summer you vacationed in the mountains in Colorado where water boils at 90◦C at 10,000 ft elevation. You found that it took 5 minutes to get the same quality of soft boiled egg. I want to know and learn it but I need a start :-< A wonderful vacation My best vacation was four years ago when I went with my parents to spend my summer in the Alps. It was beautiful. The most amazing view I've ever seen. Mountains covered with snow, small cute houses all over and colorful butterflies. We spent most of our summer there with a few friends in a small cottage. Every morning you would wake up and find the forest, that refreshing pine smell all over the room and the bluest sky I've ever seen with just a few white clouds. I would definitely go in the Alps again. So that is the text. Can you please re-write it in French!? plz give me conclusion sentence and or title for this prose its due tomorrow- just had flu and having extreme writer's block Have you ever been to a place you loved more than your own dreams? A place where you just knew that you belonged and would do anything just to remain there? I have and for me that place is Paris, France and is as important to me as my own music. This means very much, of course, if you factor in that I play piano, harp, and flute and spend most of my time in lessons or practicing, or that my role model is Nancy Hurrell, harpist extraordinaire. It might be hard to understand my love for this city, but if you have ever been there, then you would surely understand. The reason that I love Paris so very much is due to the vacation I took there the summer after sixth grade. I instantly fell in love with the beauty of the city; it was like it was made for me. The matching buildings were ancient and detailed due to a law passed by Napoleon during his rule, I personally love ancient architecture especially French architecture. It was amazing how it could be so beautiful but yet be such a busy, thriving city, which is another thing that I love, I could go on all day about all that I love about Paris; the language, the feel, the Louvre… When my mom, dad, and I were in Paris we stayed at l’Hotel Splendid Etoile a lovely hotel right off l’Arc de Triomphe and across the street from l’Empereur Café, which had phenomenal escargot in the shell. From our balcony you could see the most famous French monument, la Tour Eiffel, as its ‘Christmas lights’ twinkled on the hour all night. Down ‘la rue’ from us was, by some coincidence, was a fabulous harp boutique where I bought some gorgeous sheet music which I played at my uncle’s wedding. When I heard that my Uncle Mike was getting married to his girlfriend, Adrienne, I was excited for them, but even more excited to play harp at their wedding. I was playing solo for the whole wedding and was very excited. When I got outside the hall to set up the harp in my flowing black layered gown with sequin embellished straps, I realized that it was frigid on the lake and extremely windy which caused my harp to make a lot of noise. I wrapped my little silk shawl around me and started to play my Parisian song as my nana and the bridesmaids came practically stampeding down the old wooden stairs. Now I hastily changed my music over as the bride came immediately gliding out even though I had requested for her to wait, I broke out in the wedding march and everything went perfectly. I tried to muffle my harp throughout the vows and then nailed the Mendelssohn at the end, even with numb shivering fingers and goosebump covered arms. Performing in front of this crowd made me think about my harpist friend Nancy Hurrell. I met Nancy for the first time at the Loon Mountain Highland Games three years ago when she was hosting a Celtic harp clinic. Nancy and I really connected, and she was very helpful and friendly with me. I see Nancy at just about every harp event I go to, as we are both members of The Boston Harp Society, and she is a great role model for me. She has played for many famous celebrities like JFK, the princess and ambassador of Spain, and many more. She has had a very successful career, and if you want to know more, just look her up online. As you can see, I have some great things going on in my life and have some big dreams. My events in this essay actually tie together quite well as I plan to be a harpist in Paris after I graduate from Berklee (I hope). I desire to be a lot like Nancy and play for weddings, parties, fancy restaurants, tea houses, and such. I get a bit nervous when I play in front of people, but I do love it so much and I am pretty good at just concentrating on my playing, surprisingly I get less nervous playing solo than with a group. I guess this is due to the fact that I can just fudge when I’m alone which you can’t due with a group as much. Now you know my dreams, and hopefully understand a lot more about who I am. moreVoting Question: Where is a good vacation for my family?
We would like to either climb mountains, white water raft, or see caves. There are 5 or 6 of us for either spring or summer. Winter could be done though. We would want to stay in a log cabin not surrounded by others for about a week. Or instead of the above maybe go on a houseboat. If there are any good websites for any of the above please tell me about them and places- in the United States please. Thank you. moreResolved Question: Looking for lake vacation within 8 hr drive of Denver?
You'd think this would be easy BUT we'd like the lake to be warm enough to swim in for little kids. We're basically looking for a CO adjacent version of On Golden Pond (hiking, fishing, swimming, beautiful scenery, maybe a quaint town to drive to for supplies, etc.) Mountain lakes are just too cold, even in summer. Any thoughts in CO, NM, OK, UT, or NE?You'd think this would be easy BUT we'd like the lake to be warm enough to swim in for little kids in the summer time. While lots of the lakes people have mentioned close to Denver are maybe technically warm enough to swim in in the summer time, we're looking for a woodsy, lake community where the water is warmer than what you're going to find at 6500+ feet. We're basically looking for a CO adjacent version of On Golden Pond (hiking, fishing, swimming, beautiful scenery, maybe a quaint town to drive to for supplies, etc.) Mountain lakes are just too cold, even in summer. Any thoughts in CO, NM, OK, UT, or NE?This would be a big family-type get away and ideally we'd want to rent cabins. Again, as corny as it sounds, that sort of On Golden Pond feel -- old cabins, big porches, maybe a horse-show ring down by the docks where the kids are fishing/swimming -- is what we're looking for. There's a place called Fallen Leaf Lake in Tahoe which is really close, but the water (at 6400 ft) is still REALLY cold in the summer. Thanks, by the way, for all the helpful suggestions! moreResolved Question: Fluent Spanish speakers, can you translate this radio ad?
NOTE: My Spanish teacher does not teach at all! She just hands us a buttload of work to do and goes on her computer for the whole period. And, she expects us to finish it all during the whole period and makes us turn it in. She doesn't let us take our textbooks home; in fact, she makes us leave it in class because she thinks that if we take it home, we would forget to bring it when necessary -_____- All of the sudden on Friday, she gave us this radio ad that we have to translate in Spanish. Like WTF? She didn't even teach us the lesson required to accomplish this. So I asked every single person I know in the class if they know what to do, and they unfortunately said no. Btw, I am in Spanish 3-4. My class and I haven't learned anything in that class yet. Ugh, I hate my teacher so much... My boyfriend and I are planning a hiking/camping trip to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado for this coming summer. We are planning to take a week for the entire vacation. The first night there we intend to stay at a hotel to get ready for our camping trip, but we can't figure out how to get from our Denver Airport-vicinity hotel to the Rocky Mountains National Park. As far as I have seen, there are no bus lines that run there from Denver. Also, we don't want to rent a car since there are no return facilities at RM National Park so we would have to pay $500 to keep the car for the week. Ideas? Anything helps! Thanks! moreResolved Question: why does global warming doesnt make any sense?
i was bored in my summer vacation so i came up with my theory mountains have a height. this height is measured from the sealevel. sooooo if the sea leavel rises, then the montains are shorter. soo if the mountains are shorter, the land is dropping. but if the land is dropping and the sea level is rising, then it shouldnt matter right??? so global warming is bullshit (im not english or american so please dont be bitchy about my crappy grammar)PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS TOO SERIOUSLY!!!!! Hello I would like to know the answers to my questions ^ _ ^. Okay Im 14 years old 133-140 pounds and about 5'9 ish im in good shape. And Ive been working out for about 3 straight weeks now. Ive been doing my cardio, chest, arms and shoulders, and my best mile time is about 5:50. Its not like its my first time working out but Ive stopped working out for about 2-3 months because of my summer vacation. And so far so good, but Ive been getting major cramps on my thighs. And I only get them when I do sit ups, crunches, curl ups, any of that stuff and Id like to know how to get rid of those cramps, i also stretch before i work out or any of that. And Id like to know more about my arms. They are kinda weird well my biceps and my forearms to be specific. You see when i flex my Bicep, it looks like some little ball building up, looks more like a mountain lol. Or some of my friends would call it a bunny rolling up into a ball. Id like to know if that's normal or not haha. And I also have some muscle on my forearm that i can see when i flex my wrist in a downward position when i have my arm facing at about a 90 degree position.Id also like to know more about that. And in all of that put together i can bench about 130 - 145 pounds.Oh and ever since i lacked out from my vacation my mile time has gotten from 5:50 to 7:49 sadly. But i haven't gained any weight at all. I usually run about a mile or half a mile. But i do this once every day that goes by. Like i start from Monday and rest at Tuesday and then run at Wednesday and then i run in this order. So my question is how do i get rid of my cramps, how well is my progression going, and how do i get back my mile time! Any tips, ideas, routines will be valuable to me at this time! I'm trying to get ready for soccer and other sports. moreResolved Question: i need help finding a place where i can ride on the beach?
as a "final ho-rah" before i go off to college, my family and i are going on vacation this summer. they told me i could pick anywhere i wanted to go (within reason- must be in inland U.S.). though im not normally a huge fan of the beach/ocean (i'm more of a woodsy-lake kinda person) i thought it would be really fun to do a beach vacation. i've already gone on a ride in the mountains when i went to colorado, so now im looking to do a beach ride. on top of this it would be good because that way my dad & i can go scuba diving. my mom and i also really like nature conservation stuff, so sanibel island first came to mind but i can't find if they have horseback riding and i've already been there. any ideas? thank you!Chincoteague is such a good idea! even if they don't have riding there, it would be so cool to see the ponies. there's a new chincoteague pony at my farm, he's about 12 hh and SO fiesty, he's kind of hilarious to watch moreResolved Question: If anyone can take some time and read and change my essay to make it sound less boring?
Money When I went to Las Vegas this summer it made me think of money a lot. Before I went on this vacation I did not think about it as much. Yes, in some occasions I would ask my mom for some cash, but never in big amounts. I knew that in Las Vegas people spend money because they gamble, buy drinks, and food which is expensive. The trip to and from Las Vegas, the souvenir shop, the mall and the hotel are why I thought of money. When I found out we were going to Las Vegas I was so happy. The day before we left, my mom and I made chicken salad for the way over to Las Vegas because we were not going in a plane, so we were going old style by car. While we were on the rode my parents did not even let us get chips or snacks or anything like that. I was sad and I did not know why they were saying no to buy extra things. We did not spend one dime, except for gas. My family and I went into a little souvenir shop when it was the second day of being there in Las Vegas. Inside the shop were many things from baby shirts that say “Someone who loves me very much bought me this in Las Vegas” to small key chains that have the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign. It did not smell like anything particular, just like any other ordinary store. There were probably ten aisles in the store and the walls were the same color of the waters of the oceans. When we were getting ready to pay, I knew the guy from behind the counter was not from around here or was not born here. He started talking to us because he and my dad were at first making conversation with each other. He was a very kind man and he been in Las Vegas for about four years. He told us that the only reason he came to Las Vegas was because his brother begged him to come. He told us he was from Maui, Hawaii and that he missed it there. It was probably all those beautiful sceneries. We asked him why he missed Hawaii and he said because in Las Vegas everything is modern for example there are lots of cars, lights, and buildings and in Hawaii well everything is nature like there is a bunch of trees, mountains, dirt roads with trails, and beautiful sunsets. He told my mom and dad that a homeless person can live in Hawaii healthy because in Hawaii everything is surrounded by sea, so the homeless man or woman can just live of fish and fruits without it costing something. In Las Vegas a homeless can not live without asking for money to buy something to eat or they might just dig into the garbage to find something. I would say that the homeless people in Hawaii are probably treated better because they are not asking for anything. In Las Vegas or anywhere in the U.S. when ever a homeless guy is outside a restaurant someone has to come outside and tell him or her to leave to somewhere else and usually they would bribe them with something. We ended our conversation with Texas somehow. We said our goodbyes and then we walked out of the store with paid waters, a key chain which my brother bought, and a little shot glass that said “Welcome to Las Vegas.” When we stepped outside it was about 100 degrees which is why we got the waters in the first place. Many people which were tourist also were wearing shorts, hats , and sunglasses, with water in their hands. The third day of being in Las Vegas which was our final day there we went to an outlet mall. Inside there were people sitting down in little white desks asking people if they would go to a hotel to see if we would go there in the future. My dad being my dad cheap and looking for any free cash said yes because if we went we get a free seventy-five dollar visa card. The guy was righting down our information to go over there and there was still like thirty minutes left until the presentation on the hotel started. Then the guy says if we came in car or taxi to the mall and we said car, but then the guy made like a funny face and he said no you came in taxi and we all have like a confused look on our faces. He says if you came in taxi it is like 50 dollars from here to there. They were done and then we left heading for the hotel. There were many people there, some were probably like my dad but the difference was that some people said yes to see them in the future and take the deal. I felt sad for the guy that was spending his time with us to show us the hotel, because in the end my dad did not take it and me and my brothers were mad at him. In the end we got a free buffet that did make our stomach’s hurt but tasted good. I did not know again why he declined to get the deal because it sounded like a good idea. On our trip back from Las Vegas it got me thinking because I got a whole day of just being on the rode to what else but to think. I have now realized why my parents did not want to spend any money until we got to Las Vegas because Las Vegas is so expensive and you need to have a lot of money to go there. I asked my mom why we declined the deal at the hotel and she told me thFor some reason it took of the indents..But my teacher says i need to add Figurative Language like imagery, personification, metaphor, hyperbole, you get the idea. My husband and I fought a lot. A year and a half ago during an arugment, he stood up and slapped me twice. I called the police and in the ER they told me I need to rest. My nose was bleeding. I forgave him. We were separated for a while. We were both married before and he was violent with his first wife. I never forgave him deep in my soul. Over time, I became aggressive. Sometimes, in panic, I would first hit him. He stayed calm on several occasions. Later on, he would hit me 'a bit'. I would cry over it and go to work the next day. Once he threatened, I called the police again. They told us we have to be separated for a while. We then went travelling and everything was OK. There was still a lot of passion and nice moments. We tried really hard! I insisted we buy an apartment, he was always trying to find excuses not to. I think he wanted me to move to his hometown....Then, whenever we had a fight, he would pack stuff and leave for a day or two, 20 days once. He would leave me in the rented apartment, devastated! I tried everything to keep him. He tried to control himself. When we had an argument, he wanted to leave. I said: What if I'm pregnant? ( I was off the pill for a while). He said> I don't care, have an abortion. My world fell apart. He stayed. I was pregnant, indeed. During 11 weeks of my pregnancy, we had one fight during our summer vacation. I was nagging, hormonal and stuff. He jumped and almost choked me. I always hit back. And got more. Was on my way home. He came to pick me up from the bus stop and we made up. 7 days ago, we invited friends for dinner, after that went to the mountains. He went to the doctor with me every time. The baby was fine. I was worried all the time because of stress and career, and the fact that we were tenants. After the mountain trip, we started arguing about food, how fat I was and how annoying I was. I responded. I always did :( He slapped me. I hit back. Said I wasn't afraid. He hit me a lot of times in the head. I cried like crazy, screamed even. I was like> If I call my parents, they will go nuts. If I call the police, he is still the father, I'll feel sorry. If I call the ER, they will X-ray me and I'm pregnant. My dad called him and threathened. That made him crazy! The fact that I told someone about what happened. He called me and said:I'm going to the lawyer, and you, you have an abortion! Who gives a d.... about you! Told the doc what happened. The doc said> Now, or never....the baby is still 40 mm long. I was so scared for my life! For my child's future! I had an abortion. In the morning, I called him to ask if he went to the lawyer. He said no. I started crying. Then he realized what happened. Even though he said he had moved out, when I came home, he was there, sleeping. I was so sorry to see him so desolate...He didn't pack his stuff but started doing so as soon as he saw me. I cried...Told me to p.. off...Leave him alone..On our anniversary, his lawyer called me....I need to sign agreed divorce, not press charges. He blames me for having killed his love. He acts like he never said such a thing. He even gave me money I asked for since after everything, I was broke....:( The fact that he gave me money humiliated me...He said I'm dead for him and said he's gonna revenge on my parents for not having prevented me. I'm so scared!!! I love my dad! He said if I were a good mother, I would have kept the child even if we had to get divorced. What do you say? I'm on the verge of suicide!Btw, it's true I didn't complete my thesis. That's not the reason. I wrote the first post in panic, later I was happy I'm pregnant.I'm not a liar :( I've been abused for a long time. And when I did get pregnant, I was trying to find excuses for why I wasn't happy about the fact I'm pregnant with the man who abused me and said it's the same for him whether it's me pregnant, some other woman or a mare! So, I hated the fact that something his, or another him, was inside of me. Another person who could later abuse me....Maybe I'm wrong. moreResolved Question: could you take a look over my paper?
my paper is due tomorrow. It's a 2 body essay. comment and suggestions? Something I Believe In. At the age of five my mother signed me up for a swim team, I'm now eighteen and still involved. I made these decisions because when I'm older I want to look back and say that I am proud of what I have accomplished, even if I don't become an All American. I wont be a competitive swimmer for the rest of my life. Sooner or later I have to join the real world and acquire a job. I have always known what I wanted to do when I finished my swimming career; a Speech Language Pathologists.Being a full time student and a full time swimmer will be difficult to manage , but I will learn how to balance both with sometime. I believe I will reach my goals because I am focused. I may have a long road ahead of me, but I believe I will be a NCAA All American, a Speech Language Pathologists because I believe in my self. moreResolved Question: Is there a place called Glen Mountain? A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17." The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying." --------- A man bought a donkey from a preacher. The preacher told the man that this donkey had been trained in a very unique way, (being the donkey of a preacher). The only way to make the donkey go, was to say, "Hallelujah!" The only way to make the donkey stop, was to say, "Amen!" The man was pleased with his purchase and immediately got on the animal to try out the preacher's instructions. "Hallelujah!" shouted the man. The donkey began to trot. "Amen!" shouted the man. The donkey stopped immediately. "This is great!" said the man. With a "Hallelujah," he rode off very proud of his new purchase. The man traveled for a long time through some mountains. Soon he was heading toward a cliff. He could not remember the word to make the donkey stop. "Stop," said the man. "Halt!" he cried. The donkey just kept going. "Oh, no... Bible!....Church!...Please Stop!!" shouted the man. The donkey just began to trot faster. He was getting closer and closer to the cliff edge. Finally, in desperation, the man said a prayer. "Please, dear Lord. Please make this donkey stop before I go off the end of this mountain, In Jesus name, AMEN." The donkey came to an abrupt stop just one step from the edge of the cliff. "HALLELUJAH!", shouted the man. ----------- We were traveling one summer in the Pocono Mountains and, like a good Presbyterian family, attended church while we were on vacation. One lazy Sunday we found our way to a little Methodist Church. It was a hot day and the folks were nearly out in the pews. The preacher was preaching on and on until, all of a sudden, he said, "The best years of my life have been spent in the arms of another man's wife." The congregation let out a gasp, came to immediate attention, and the dozing deacon in the back row dropped his hymnbook. Then the preacher said, "It was my mother." The congregation tittered a little and managed to follow along as the sermon concluded. I filed this trick away in my memory, a great way to get the congregation's attention back when it has been lost. Sure enough, the next summer, on a lazy Sunday, I was preaching and the flies were buzzing around and the ushers were sinking lower and lower in their seats in the back row until I could hardly see them. Then I remembered our experience in the Pocono Mountains, and I said in a booming voice, "The best years of my life have been spent in the arms of another man's wife." Sure enough, I had their attention. One of the ushers in the back row sat up so fast he hit his head on the back of the pew in front of him. I had them. But you know something? I forgot what came next. All I could think to say was, "And for the life of me, I can't remember her name!" ------- FMC member Pastor Stan Holdeman of Garden Baptist Church in Indiana went to an informal church gathering, wearing shorts and a T-shirt. A little girl from a newly religious family; who had seen him only in his Sunday morning suits loudly proclaimed: "Hey, preacher, you sure look different with clothes on!" After church one Sunday morning, a mother commented: "The choir was awful this morning." The father commented: "The sermon was too long." Their 7-yr. old daughter added: "You've got to admit it was a pretty good show for a dime." A four-year-old Catholic boy was playing with a four-year-old Protestant girl in a children's pool in the backyard. They splashed each other, got very wet and decided to take their wet clothes off. The little boy looked at the little girl and said, "Golly, I didn't know there was that much difference between Catholics and Protestants." ---------- One Sunday afternoon, the Pastor's wife dropped into an easy chair saying, "Boy ! Am I ever tried." Her husband looked over at her and said, "I had to conduct two special services last night, three today, and give a total of five sermons. Why are you so tired ?" "Dearest," she replied, "I had to listen to all of them." ---------- man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's, and walked up to the woman behind the counter and said, "I'd like to buy a bra for my wife" What type of bra?" asked the clerk. "Type?" inquires the man. "There is more than one type?" "Look around," said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color and material. "Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only three types of bras," replied the salesclerk. Confused, the man asked what the types were. The saleslady replied "The Catholic type, the, Salvation Army type, and the Baptist type. Which one do you need?" Still confused the man asked, "What is the difference between them?" The lady responded, "It is all really quite simple. The Catholic type supports the masses, the Salvation Army type lifts up the fallen, and the Baptist type makes mountains out of mole hills." moreResolved Question: Can i get into columbia college with my weird transcript?

The sleep paralysis phenomenon... If you haven't previously experienced this nightmare before and never heard of it, I don't recommend you to read the rest of this question; because you'll probably have troubles when you go to sleep at night (especially if you have a sensitive heart)... Have you ever woken suddenly in the middle of the night with a mountain over your chest, a thunderstorm in your head, an earthquake in your heart, a painful prick in your lower back, a strange twinkle in your eyes, scary hallucination in your ears, a feeling of terror controlling your senses, and a prevailing state of paralysis over your whole body?? I'm NOT jOcKiNg!! That was the closest description to what is called "sleep paralysis".. I'm 20 years old, I've been suffering form this terrifying phenomenon for about 3 years. The first time it happened to me was in the terrace. My family and I went to spend the summer vacation near the sea. One night, I was lying on the floor of our terrace, it was 11 pm, the sky was so clear that I could see the galaxy, and every 5 minutes, a shiny beautiful meteorite was flying over my head, it looked amazing. The place around us was too calm and I could hear nothing but the wind. I spent an hour staring at the countless stars until I fell asleep. After that for a while, I saw the window of our terrace, my eyes were almost closed, I wasn't completely awake, but I felt myself, I felt my body, I was aware of the surroundings, I could feel the ground under me and hear the wind, I could even hear my dad's voice, then I wanted to move my body, I COULDN'T!! I could not move a muscle!! Don't ask me how, I don't know!! I was in complete awareness, but I couldn't move my arm and I couldn't say a word!! I was chained without chains!! Then I felt like somebody punched me in my lower back and held my backbone!! I felt the ceiling fell over my chest, at the same time, the back of my head was swarming with charges, and my heart was quaking, REALLY quaking, I felt I was swimming into space. I could see the sky, but there was a weird flash in my eyes. After a few seconds, I heard a strange voice close to my ears, but I could not understand what was being said, the only thing I understood he was mocking me, and then I heard a fainting evil laugh, after which I could move and the nightmare ended... My whole body was shivering, I did not scream, but I had no idea what happened to me, I couldn't figure it out. I sat on a chair, looked at the sky, and cried... That was my first experience with "sleep paralysis", and it has been happening to me since. Each time it comes to me is harder and heavier than the previous time, with more mysterious unexplainable events (like tickling the bones of my feet).. You know what? The most terrifying fact that it began to happen to me while I'm awake, which made me behave like mad people (that's a high level of terror).. I searched for this subject on the internet and I found other people suffering from it, giving the same explaining as mine. I even discovered that my cousin is having the same problem.. Some physicians and psychiatrists claim that this phenomenon is a result for some medical reasons, and I say that they never tasted it themselves, so they should never judge about it. What happens during it has NO relation to medicine or psychology. The one reason I believe for "sleep paralysis" is Jinns, and nothing else... moreResolved Question: Summer would you rathers?

My parents want to bring me on vacation this summer, but we cant get on a plane because my mom absolutely hates planes. Next weekend they want to bring me, and my brother to NH. to see the white mountains. I really don't think I will have a good time. I don't see the point in driving around for a weekend looking at trees. My parents and I do not have a good relationship. We fight constantly and are considering going to family counseling because we disagree so much. I am the youngest in my family. I am 15 years younger than my brother (who is mentally disabled). He is 30. I know there is no way to get out of this, but I know that spending a weekend away from my friends and fighting with my parents constantly isn't going to be my idea of a vacation. Hi everyone I am about to be a senior this fall and I am reallly hoping to go to MSU. i am applying to their fairly new residential college in the arts & humanities. I went to visit it during the spring and I met with one of the admissions directors for it and she really seemed to like me and I liked her. I got a great feeling when I was there, I knew it is the place I am meant to go. School: Country Day School [very rigorous college prep school and my college counselor said MSU holds spots for country day kids] GPA: this is just a guess but its probably a 3.3 unweighted ; I received an 84 average GPA for the end of Junior year. It was probably higher the past 2 yrs. APs: i took AP psych [waiting for results of the test] and I am taking AP stats, AP photography and AP Shakespeare this upcoming year. i also took honors french SAT: 500M 570CR 610W ACT: Composite: 26 ; 28 English; 20 Math ; 29 Reading ; 27 Science ; 8 Writing [on 8-12 scale] And I know my math is low but I sent MSU the ACT I took before this and got a 23 in math . EC: Freshman year: JV soccer, strength & conditioning, yearbook club, french club, choir Sophomore year: JV soccer, strength & conditioning, yearbook club, french club, art & design Junior year: V mountain biking, JV tennis, french club, diversity council, photography senior year: V cross country, JV tennis, french club [treasurer], diversity council [will have a position], AP photography Community service: 40+ hours ; babysat for my church , worked at a food bank ; took pictures at vacation bible school for a week ; helped out with a garden tour; worked at a dance recital Internship: I had an internship at a courthouse with a Judge for the whole summer before 11th grade. Recommendations: I am getting one from my English teacher. English is my passion and I have received high A's on all of my papers from this English teacher. She has been my teacher for 3 years in a row. She writes very good recommendations and quotes sentences from essays the student has written. ; I will also get a recommendation from the Judge I worked for because she got to know me personally and can give a good recommendation based on my characteristics and qualities. Essay: I already wrote my essay because we had a whole workshop for a month on it in my junior English class. we learned how to write the best we can for college and what colleges are looking for. i received a 96 on it from my teacher so i will be sending that one in. Classes: I have taken 5 english classes [2 senior year], 5 history classes [2 senior year], 4 sciences, 4 maths, 4 years of french, and i have taken art/photography or speech/health for every year. So i have taken as many if not more of the classes MSU recommends. Improvement: This year, I really improved in most all of my classes. my hardest classes were AP psych and honors french. I went from a C- in the first semester of honors french to a B+ [86] by the end of the year. And for psych, I went from a C+ to being one point from an A-. I know MSU looks at improvement. Sorry it's long, but whoever will chance me i will be very grateful! If you don't feel like chancing me, maybe you can tell me what you think of MSU acceptance and how hard/easy it is to get in Thank you!! moreResolved Question: Why am I so feeling so sad and lonley?
