My grandfather used to be the owner of this land 10 years ago, but he died so now my grandmother is the owner and she's 86 years old. This land is located in the Dominican Republic (D.R) where my grandma was born. This land is over 63 acres and is beautiful, it has cows, tobacco, plantains, fertile soil, mountains(like in the movies), rivers and beautiful summer home. So obviously my grandfathers family want this land for themselves even though it my grandma's and try it. This is D.R so yeah people can steal land because their liars and cheats and they know it. My grandmother vacations there 2 weeks a year so it not very well guarded. My grandmother tries to get people to protect the land, but they usually end up stealing 95% off the profits of the tobacco. My grandmother's family is also full with cheats so she cant let them stay there.Also there was a new law passed in D.R if a Worker worked on land for 7 years then they automatically own the land unless the owner has had the land for 40 yrs plus. My mother wants to keep the land along with her older sister but the eldest siblings of the family want to sell it for 2 mil ( in U.S currency) and be done with it because way too many people are trying to cheat them off. Im srry that this is a lot but yeah...My grandma is 86 and her day are numbered so when she dies my uncles and aunt are going to sell the land when it theirs. more

Ok, my parents divorced about a year ago. I am starting my senior year after this summer break. When my parents were together, we had alot of money, I went to private school (elementary/middle school), had nice stuff, three to four family vacations a year, we had a summer house in the mountains on a lake, it was nice. Then my parents split up. They lost ALOT of money during the divorce, I mean about $200,000-300,000, plus we sold our house in the mountains. So now about a year after the split, I live with my dad full time and he sends me to private catholic high school. I went there last school year and after this summer break it will be my second school year at private school and last because I will graduate and go to college. So I don't really like my mom anymore. But she took me to a movie this weekend. She isn't really rich, she is just average. I was wearing a nice expensive shirt (and my grandma came, my moms mom) and they were both making fun of my shirt when I first saw them. They called my a yuppy and all that mean stuff. It was really rude. I didn't get the big deal because she was driving a $60,000 car from before the divorce. So what should I do? I mean I don't really want to see them anymore because they make fun of me and my dad because we made money from his business (yes, I work there too). I mean Im getting good grades, going to college in a year...whats the big deal? and whats their problems? what do you think I should do? more

Voting Question: Can you explain my scary dream?

The day began like any other, I was at school on the last official day of school. Tomorrow I would pick up my report card and it would be summer vacation. I ended up deciding to hang out with a teacher for my afternoon instead of go to class. Which is weird because the teacher is not only a grumpy old hag but hates me. But in my dream she loves me, she chatting with me like I was her best friend. The day goes by some and Nathan shows up, he used to have a crush on me. (Also he is the popular guy in the school and is sorta cute) So we sat there all chatting like it happened every day. It was nearing the end of the day and the classroom we were sitting in turns into a school bus which the teacher is now driving, but the teacher is gone, its the bus driver with an attitude is here. So what ever, I keep talking with Nathan. The bus starts and stops by my school and picks up the regular group of kids, but this time Cass gets on. Again, strange, she doesn't take the bus, she walks. So I'm talking with her a bit. But then she stops and looks away. I look out the window into the distance. Its beautiful. Its rocky and sunny, fog is brushing past the mountain faces. Its so nice. A girl next to me starts complaining about her head being dry and I make a comment like, use Mayo, it'll moisturize your hair and make it feel better. She looks at me weird and then turns away to talk to her friend who also gave me a weird look. So we finally dropped off Nathan and a bunch of people, he smiled at me and said bye, see you soon. And the bus started going again once they we're out. But instead of heading to my stop, the bus got swung around and was back at the school. Apparently something was wrong with the bus or something in general. So I said fine, whatever, I'll walk. I told Cass I'd see her later and started walking to my house. I texted my mom to let her know what happened, and got no reply. I glanced up and smiled at some teens passing me bye who were talking so loud you could hear them anywhere. There was a couple yelling at each other over sex and other things. And as I move along, the people count drops and a group of cars pass by on the road off to the side of the normally busy highway, but now is dead. The cars keep passing each other off and some went on the side walk to pass one another. Soon the road was dead. I was walking more and more when a cart clatters behind me. I look around and see no one, but the cart. I look inside the cart and there are two babies. Poorly dressed and barely moving. I touched the cheek of the little girl, but she was gone. Her cheek was like ice. So I checked the little boy, he was okay, but again he was cold. So I picked him up, and held him to my chest for warmth while I searched through the things in the cart for some clothing to keep him warm. I knew I couldn't leave them there, it would eat at me if I did. So I dressed him, even though he fussed, and I wrapped the dead little girl in a blanket. I was giggling with the baby when I got the idea to take a picture with my phone. I checked to see if my mom replied, nothing. And then took a picture, the first one was blur, but the next was perfect. Then I noticed I had my thumb on the screen, I moved it and BAM. Man standing behind me. I swung around and saw him, standing there smiling. He said,"You looked like you were enjoying yourself with the children that I thought I'd wait." I asked him what he wanted, he ignored me. Then I felt deep in my gut to run. I told him to leave me alone repeatedly, and grabbed the cart and started fast walking away, but he followed me. I screamed, "F off, leave me alone!" and started to run, pushing the cart now a stroller. I was waving at cars, screaming at the top of my lungs, but no one stopped. I ran faster and faster, him right behind me. Then BAM, from Human, to a dog! He gained speed. But not enough to catch me. The again BAM, dog into a raven! He speed up drastically, he started dive bombing me, but I kept smacking him away still screaming. Then from raven he became and eagle, from and eagle he became a sparrow. All in this poof changing from this to this time, I had been swerving past houses, trailers and cars trying to get away. I was reaching a bridge when he dive bombed me again, but instead I caught him in my hand. He changed into a human right there and grabbed my arm, throwing me to the ground. A white convertible pulled up beside him with an fat, balding western kinda guy in the drivers seat laughing. I screamed what do you want! He said, I want to find my little girl. And then it went black.If your not going to answer me with what you think it means, then please just don't answer at all.Even though these aren't answers, thanks for the comments. Ok, so I really want to get my navel pierced. I think it is one of the only piercings you can get that only you get to decided if it wants to be seen or not. And it would not affect you when you are looking for a job and stuff. The thing is the summer i am leaving on vacation and I am planning to get in a pool and in a lake. I am looking into buying a cabin up in the mountains by Big Bear to use as a vacation rental. Me and my husband have been together for 8 years. Married for 3 of those. These past couple of years have been really hard on us. Financially, emotionally...etc. We have been having a lot of problems with his family. We have a now 8 month old baby (our first!) Who we are so excited about. This should be the happiest time in our lives. But it isn't. This summer however I know it will get better. We are moving out of the area of his family. So things will calm down on that front. THANK GOODNESS! Husband is taking another job that will be paying more and I am going to start back to school. So this is what I was thinking of... I am thinking of setting up a vow renewal for us. To celebrate our fresh start. We are so excited about this fresh start. We didn't have the wedding we wanted. We wanted a small wedding but other's kind of took it over and it became some big. I wasn't even happy with my dress. We were so honestly ready to get that all over with because it was so stressful. So I am thinking we go to the place he proposed which is in Ruidoso, NM. OUR FAVORITE place to vacation. We love the mountains. And asking a couple of friends to join us. What are your thoughts.I'm not talking about having a full big renewal with tons of friends and sending out invitations. I'm just talking about a few of our closest CLOSEST life long friends. Not having the perfect wedding is not influencing this. It's about starting new. Our new lives somewhere else...strong marriage, strong family. Also my husband is Catholic, which I am not. But now he is questioning himself why he is Catholic in the first place. We really wanted to just fly off somewhere and get married. Then come back and have a small cake reception. Dating boyfriend for nearly a year. Last week we went on a dual trip to beach and mountains. During the beach trip he drank way too much. He was around some married guy friends who are also big drinkers and tend to be sarcastic b@stards basically.(he does have closer male friends who are nice guys, he only knows these men thru a female friend from law school who married one of them) I was the only girl hanging out at a beach lounge with them. his friends wives were back at the beach house with their kids. Anyway I have noticed on a couple occasions that when my boyfriend drinks more than say 8-9 drinks his whole personality switches. Its literally like his eyes even glaze over and the lights are on but he isnt home. This time instead of being a fun drunk he started off nasty. One of the guys at the beachhouse party was a gay guy makeup artist who complimented my looks and told me i have no wrinkles and look amazing for 30. My boyfriend proceeded to tell me afterwards that i have 'lots of wrinkles' i thought he was being funny, but then he said i have them under my eyes when i smile. this made me furious and i did ignore him for the next 2 hours while we were at the bar drinking. i was waiting for him to apologize. Instead he drank more. And when I went to the bathroom his friends apparently backstabbed me and told him i was being a bitch by ignoring him. Finally, in front of his drunk friends he called me a 'b***h and said maybe we should break up' He had never called me a b***h ever and I burst out crying and ran to ladies room again The fact that he mentioned breaking up freaked me out. Finally we took cab ride back to beachhouse. he then proceeded to fall into bed half awake. instead of passing out he said even worse things. that he thought i look 'disgusting' at the beach and that size 8 is too huge a size for me. he said my body is a 3 (out of 10) and that my face is only a 7 because of 'jowls' he said he wanted to stick his 'pen1s in someone he finds hot' and then he said angrily he would do ANYTHING NOT to go on vacation with me to the mountains in denver ... i lay there in shock crying with my heart pounding. he then passed out. i actually became violently ill because i was that upset... the next day he acted sweet and nice as usual. I told him he said horrible awful things to me the night before. he said he didnt remember anything and had too much to drink. he refused to admit remembering saying anything awful. i kept thinking he was drunk and it made him brave to suggest breaking up. but as we were driving out of the beach town , he mentioned something that made me think he still sees us together. we entered farmland and he told me to look out the window for corn crops that are starting to grow. he said 'we' would see them grow over the Summer when we go to the beach.... :sigh: I went to the mountains with him anyway because I had already put so much money into planning and paying for the trip. we actually had a great time and he didnt drink too much. but now that we are back to reality and done with vacation I am very hurt by his drunken words. They are still stinging me intensely. did they have real truth to them ? any input would be appreciated. he is nearly 37 btwi just emailed him that as i was falling alseep last night that ALL his mean hurtful words came roaring back. i call bullshit that he doesnt recall it. even if he doesnt there is somethign intrinsically wrong with an educated attractive grown man saying that kind of stuff and wanting to drink so heavily. more

My husband and I are looking for a vacation/ get-a-way for this summer (June)...We have been going through a lot and life has really gotten us down this past few months and we really just need a serene, relaxing place to "get out of town" to! Lots of people have suggested Colorado to me and we are thinking it sounds like a great idea. We live in a suburb of Dallas and we don't really want to drive more than about 15 hours. Here are our "hopeful" details: Our most important wish is for a really SCENIC area. We both love the mountains. We are interested in relaxing activities and both love history and wildlife as well. We aren't really hikers, but wouldn't mind some light hiking- We would love to do some fun activities as well, but also don't want to overschedule our vacation. So my question is: WHERE in Colorado would be the best place for our desires? Why do you think so? I have only been "through" Colorado, so advice is welcomed. Thanks in advance! more

My partner and I have always had our issues, who doesn't...but it seems like once our little one arrived, it got a little worse. Mostly because I am so exhausted and I don't think I make the time for him that I used to because now when the baby wants to go to sleep, I want to go to sleep. I'm so exhausted trying to be a working mother. I have no extra time during the day to do anything for me. I'm also breastfeeding so I have to take extra time to pump and store milk and clean up my pump and bottles and everything. My husband goes and plays sports and things in the evening. So he still is free to do as he pleases and I am the primary one caring for our daughter. We have a ski boat and it's getting into boating season, so he took the boat our a few weekends ago while I stayed home with our daughter. He's also talking about going on a cruise with some friends sometime during the summer and I'm not going to be able to go because we can't exactly take our baby, but he's acting like he's still planning on going without me. Am I the only one who finds this selfish? This is one way he acts just like his mother. She was never really much of a mother to him. She never let her going and doing stop on the account of having him. He often got left behind so she could go do her thing. I feel like now that we have a child we should go do family friendly things. I feel like he's still making it all about him and what he wants to do. I've already planned a week vacation in the mountain next month with some friends where we are all taking our kids and everything. A place where you just knew that you belonged and would do anything just to remain there? I have and for me that place is Paris, France and is as important to me as my own music. This means very much, of course, if you factor in that I play piano, harp, and flute and spend most of my time in lessons or practicing, or that my role model is Nancy Hurrell, harpist extraordinaire. It might be hard to understand my love for this city, but if you have ever been there, then you would surely understand. The reason that I love Paris so very much is due to the vacation I took there the summer after sixth grade. I instantly fell in love with the beauty of the city; it was like it was made for me. The matching buildings were ancient and detailed due to a law passed by Napoleon during his rule, I personally love ancient architecture especially French architecture. It was amazing how it could be so beautiful but yet be such a busy, thriving city, which is another thing that I love, I could go on all day about all that I love about Paris; the language, the feel, the Louvre… When my mom, dad, and I were in Paris we stayed at l’Hotel Splendid Etoile a lovely hotel right off l’Arc de Triomphe and across the street from l’Empereur Café, which had phenomenal escargot in the shell. From our balcony you could see the most famous French monument, la Tour Eiffel, as its ‘Christmas lights’ twinkled on the hour all night. Down ‘la rue’ from us was, by some coincidence, was a fabulous harp boutique where I bought some gorgeous sheet music which I played at my uncle’s wedding. When I heard that my Uncle Mike was getting married to his girlfriend, Adrienne, I was excited for them, but even more excited to play harp at their wedding. I was playing solo for the whole wedding and was very excited. When I got outside the hall to set up the harp in my flowing black layered gown with sequin embellished straps, I realized that it was frigid on the lake and extremely windy which caused my harp to make a lot of noise. I wrapped my little silk shawl around me and started to play my Parisian song as my nana and the bridesmaids came practically stampeding down the old wooden stairs. Now I hastily changed my music over as the bride came immediately gliding out even though I had requested for her to wait, I broke out in the wedding march and everything went perfectly. I tried to muffle my harp throughout the vows and then nailed the Mendelssohn at the end, even with numb shivering fingers and goosebump covered arms. Performing in front of this crowd made me think about my harpist friend Nancy Hurrell. I met Nancy for the first time at the Loon Mountain Highland Games three years ago when she was hosting a Celtic harp clinic. Nancy and I really connected, and she was very helpful and friendly with me. I see Nancy at just about every harp event I go to, as we are both members of The Boston Harp Society, and she is a great role model for me. She has played for many famous celebrities like JFK, the princess and ambassador of Spain, and many more. She has had a very successful career, and if you want to know more, just look her up online. As you can see, I have some great things going on in my life and have some big dreams. My events in this essay actually tie together quite well as I plan to be a harpist in Paris after I graduate from Berklee (I hope). I desire to be a lot like Nancy and play for weddings, parties, fancy restaurants, tea houses, and such. I get a bit nervous when I play in front of people, but I do love it so much and I am pretty good at just concentrating on my playing, surprisingly I get less nervous playing solo than with a group. Hello I would like to know the answers to my questions ^ _ ^. Okay Im 14 years old 133-140 pounds and about 5'9 ish im in good shape. And Ive been working out for about 3 straight weeks now. Ive been doing my cardio, chest, arms and shoulders, and my best mile time is about 5:50. Its not like its my first time working out but Ive stopped working out for about 2-3 months because of my summer vacation. And so far so good, but Ive been getting major cramps on my thighs. And I only get them when I do sit ups, crunches, curl ups, any of that stuff and Id like to know how to get rid of those cramps, i also stretch before i work out or any of that. And Id like to know more about my arms. They are kinda weird well my biceps and my forearms to be specific. You see when i flex my Bicep, it looks like some little ball building up, looks more like a mountain lol. Or some of my friends would call it a bunny rolling up into a ball. Id like to know if that's normal or not haha. And I also have some muscle on my forearm that i can see when i flex my wrist in a downward position when i have my arm facing at about a 90 degree position.Id also like to know more about that.And in all of that put together i can bench about 130 - 145 pounds.Oh and ever since i lacked out from my vacation my mile time has gotten from 5:50 to 7:49 sadly. But i haven't gained any weight at all. I usually run about a mile or half a mile. But i do this once every day that goes by. Like i start from Monday and rest at Tuesday and then run at Wednesday and then i run in this order. Money When I went to Las Vegas this summer it made me think of money a lot. Before I went on this vacation I did not think about it as much. Yes, in some occasions I would ask my mom for some cash, but never in big amounts. I knew that in Las Vegas people spend money because they gamble, buy drinks, and food which is expensive. The trip to and from Las Vegas, the souvenir shop, the mall and the hotel are why I thought of money. When I found out we were going to Las Vegas I was so happy. The day before we left, my mom and I made chicken salad for the way over to Las Vegas because we were not going in a plane, so we were going old style by car. While we were on the rode my parents did not even let us get chips or snacks or anything like that. I was sad and I did not know why they were saying no to buy extra things. We did not spend one dime, except for gas. My family and I went into a little souvenir shop when it was the second day of being there in Las Vegas. Inside the shop were many things from baby shirts that say “Someone who loves me very much bought me this in Las Vegas” to small key chains that have the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign. It did not smell like anything particular, just like any other ordinary store. There were probably ten aisles in the store and the walls were the same color of the waters of the oceans. When we were getting ready to pay, I knew the guy from behind the counter was not from around here or was not born here. He started talking to us because he and my dad were at first making conversation with each other. He was a very kind man and he been in Las Vegas for about four years. He told us that the only reason he came to Las Vegas was because his brother begged him to come. He told us he was from Maui, Hawaii and that he missed it there. It was probably all those beautiful sceneries. We asked him why he missed Hawaii and he said because in Las Vegas everything is modern for example there are lots of cars, lights, and buildings and in Hawaii well everything is nature like there is a bunch of trees, mountains, dirt roads with trails, and beautiful sunsets. He told my mom and dad that a homeless person can live in Hawaii healthy because in Hawaii everything is surrounded by sea, so the homeless man or woman can just live of fish and fruits without it costing something. In Las Vegas a homeless can not live without asking for money to buy something to eat or they might just dig into the garbage to find something. I would say that the homeless people in Hawaii are probably treated better because they are not asking for anything. In Las Vegas or anywhere in the U.S. when ever a homeless guy is outside a restaurant someone has to come outside and tell him or her to leave to somewhere else and usually they would bribe them with something. We ended our conversation with Texas somehow. We said our goodbyes and then we walked out of the store with paid waters, a key chain which my brother bought, and a little shot glass that said “Welcome to Las Vegas.” When we stepped outside it was about 100 degrees which is why we got the waters in the first place. Many people which were tourist also were wearing shorts, hats , and sunglasses, with water in their hands. The third day of being in Las Vegas which was our final day there we went to an outlet mall. Inside there were people sitting down in little white desks asking people if they would go to a hotel to see if we would go there in the future. My dad being my dad cheap and looking for any free cash said yes because if we went we get a free seventy-five dollar visa card. The guy was righting down our information to go over there and there was still like thirty minutes left until the presentation on the hotel started. Then the guy says if we came in car or taxi to the mall and we said car, but then the guy made like a funny face and he said no you came in taxi and we all have like a confused look on our faces. He says if you came in taxi it is like 50 dollars from here to there. They were done and then we left heading for the hotel. There were many people there, some were probably like my dad but the difference was that some people said yes to see them in the future and take the deal. I felt sad for the guy that was spending his time with us to show us the hotel, because in the end my dad did not take it and me and my brothers were mad at him. In the end we got a free buffet that did make our stomach’s hurt but tasted good. I did not know again why he declined to get the deal because it sounded like a good idea. On our trip back from Las Vegas it got me thinking because I got a whole day of just being on the rode to what else but to think. I have now realized why my parents did not want to spend any money until we got to Las Vegas because Las Vegas is so expensive and you need to have a lot of money to go there. My husband and I fought a lot. A year and a half ago during an arugment, he stood up and slapped me twice. I called the police and in the ER they told me I need to rest. My nose was bleeding. I forgave him. We were separated for a while. We were both married before and he was violent with his first wife. I never forgave him deep in my soul. Over time, I became aggressive. Sometimes, in panic, I would first hit him. He stayed calm on several occasions. Later on, he would hit me 'a bit'. I would cry over it and go to work the next day. Once he threatened, I called the police again. They told us we have to be separated for a while. We then went travelling and everything was OK. There was still a lot of passion and nice moments. We tried really hard! I insisted we buy an apartment, he was always trying to find excuses not to. I think he wanted me to move to his hometown....Then, whenever we had a fight, he would pack stuff and leave for a day or two, 20 days once. He would leave me in the rented apartment, devastated! I tried everything to keep him. He tried to control himself. When we had an argument, he wanted to leave. I said: What if I'm pregnant? ( I was off the pill for a while). He said> I don't care, have an abortion. My world fell apart. He stayed. I was pregnant, indeed. During 11 weeks of my pregnancy, we had one fight during our summer vacation. I was nagging, hormonal and stuff. He jumped and almost choked me. I always hit back. And got more. Was on my way home. He came to pick me up from the bus stop and we made up. 7 days ago, we invited friends for dinner, after that went to the mountains. He went to the doctor with me every time. The baby was fine. I was worried all the time because of stress and career, and the fact that we were tenants. After the mountain trip, we started arguing about food, how fat I was and how annoying I was. I responded. I always did :( He slapped me. I hit back. Said I wasn't afraid. He hit me a lot of times in the head. I cried like crazy, screamed even. I was like> If I call my parents, they will go nuts. If I call the police, he is still the father, I'll feel sorry. If I call the ER, they will X-ray me and I'm pregnant. My dad called him and threathened. That made him crazy! The fact that I told someone about what happened. He called me and said:I'm going to the lawyer, and you, you have an abortion! Who gives a d.... about you! Told the doc what happened. The doc said> Now, or never....the baby is still 40 mm long. I was so scared for my life! For my child's future! I had an abortion. In the morning, I called him to ask if he went to the lawyer. He said no. I started crying. Then he realized what happened. Even though he said he had moved out, when I came home, he was there, sleeping. I was so sorry to see him so desolate...He didn't pack his stuff but started doing so as soon as he saw me. I cried...Told me to p.. off...Leave him alone..On our anniversary, his lawyer called me....I need to sign agreed divorce, not press charges. He blames me for having killed his love. He acts like he never said such a thing. He even gave me money I asked for since after everything, I was broke....:( The fact that he gave me money humiliated me...He said I'm dead for him and said he's gonna revenge on my parents for not having prevented me. I'm so scared!!! I love my dad! He said if I were a good mother, I would have kept the child even if we had to get divorced. What do you say? my paper is due tomorrow. It's a 2 body essay. comment and suggestions? Something I Believe In. At the age of five my mother signed me up for a swim team, I'm now eighteen and still involved. Swimming is what I know and love. Next fall I would like to transfer to a Devision One school and compete for them. My goal is to become an All American,but to get there I have many mountains to over come. Swimming at a Devision One college is a full time job, along with being a full time student and deciding what I want for my future job. When I was twelve years old I made the choice to take swimming serious. I told myself that I was going to become an NCAA All American. Telling yourself is not enough. I needed to believe it and I do believe it. I have made many sacrifice to get closer to my my goal. Making the decision to stay home on a Friday night so I would be able to get up the next morning for 7:00AM practice, giving up going on vacation in the summer so I could swim 5:00AM and 6:00PM every day. As much as I would like to to sleep in and go out on a Friday night, I love swimming so much more. I made these decisions because when I'm older I want to look back and say that I am proud of what I have accomplished, even if I don't become an All American. I wont be a competitive swimmer for the rest of my life. Sooner or later I have to join the real world and acquire a job. I have always known what I wanted to do when I finished my swimming career; a Speech Language Pathologists.Being a full time student and a full time swimmer will be difficult to manage , but I will learn how to balance both with sometime. I believe I will reach my goals because I am focused. I may have a long road ahead of me, but I believe I will be a NCAA All American, a Speech Language Pathologists because I believe in my self. more
