Where can I go in the Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary area that would be fun for my wife and 7 year old daughter? She likes to camp. We'll go fishing and etc. This is a first for us so... Colorado, Montana or Wyoming are not out of the question either. Actually, how is Yellowstone for kids? more

Resolved Question: We want to take a vacation to Banff, Alberta Canada.. should we visit Jasper too? Where to fly into?

We live in Florida and want to take a vacation probably next summer to Banff, Alberta Canada.. I was wondering where we should fly into? Calgary- and just rent a vehicle & do the lovely drive to Banff? Should we visit Jasper too while we're there? Or should we maybe fly somewhere in the US close to the Canadian border & drive to Banff? Maybe that would be cheaper than an International flight? We know we want to go there in summer time, and rent canoes on the beautiful lake louise. We also want to see the Columbia icefield glacier national park. Any tips on where we should stay.. and where we should fly into? more

Hello there, I am a 16 year old boy and last year my dad decided to send me to a boarding school across the country alone. Before this i lived in the small town of cochrane AB. I had a few good friends but as a result of the move all of my connections with my old friends have become weak. Except for 1 girl we are still best friends. So recently i got a call that my parents had just sold the house and are moving to the big city of calgary AB 45 minutes away. This sucks because i am going back for summer vacation in 1 week and am going to be a complete loner in mine and my parents penthouse apartment this summer. My closest friend is 45 minutes away and it is going to be very inconvenient for my brothers to drive me back and forth to see her. So i need some friends in calgary. But it is a little awkward to just go up to someone and ask "hey do you want to be my friend". What can i do to make friends in this new city? (And i cant get a job because of the economy.) more

Resolved Question: How can I convince my parents to let us go to British Columbia?

I have always wanted to go see British Columbia. It is my favourite province but I have never been. I just think it is the most beautiful place in the world and I really want to experience the natural beauty that is there. i found this great national park called Glacier national Park and I thought it would be a really cool vacation spot for my family for next summer. I told my parents about it but they still won't give in because they are concerned about cost and when they can go because they're too busy. I already figured all this out and I found a great hotel that is right on the park and very cheap for a family of 5. I even found out plane tickets to calgary and taxi prices to the park(I figured it would be cheaper to fly to calgary since it is closer instead of Vancouver). I even picked out a long weekend when they don't work but they still wont give in!! Even after I was able to find all the reasons why they said and was able to resolve them Now I'm determined to get them to give in, i'm making a slide show now and planning to present it to them tomorrow but it is there any other way that I can get them to change their mind? I don't think it's because my parents aren't adventureous because my dad loves that stuff and my mom loves sightseeing. what can i do? more

My essay has to be 3 pages; single-spaced long ..and it also has to be descriptive . I dont know how to start and I dont know what will be my main idea about my essay. Okay so this is how i spend my summer.. > I went to vancouver and I was really tired travelling.(that was the 1st time i went there) > I stayed home and used the computer > I got a job at the library > Hang out with friends and went to the movies so my summer was so boring, but still, i want to make it good. What do you think will be a good main idea of my essay? Hey..I live in Winnipeg, love it, but I want to get away for the summer. I'm trying to find somewhere to go on vacation with a friend (preferably not in Canada or the US), but it seems like all the sites I go to for cheap flights from Canada leave from more major cities like Toronto and Calgary. Has anyone been able to find a site/travel agent..anything...for cheap flights out of winnipeg to other countries? Or are there any vacation packages you'd recommend?? Thanks! more
