Summer Vacations Colorado Questions asked
Voting Question: Where and when should my boyfriend and I go on our first vacation together?
I've been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years now, and we want to finally go on a vacation somewhere. I'll be 20 in October, he'll be 21 in December. I can't decide if we should go somewhere over the summer (probably late July early August) or if we should wait until winter break (mid December to mid January) to go somewhere. Also, I can't decide where to go! I think he really wants to go to like a national park or something historic, and I'm fine with pretty much anything. I DO think a beach vacation would be easier and cheaper, but I'm not sure how fond he would be of that. Although, with the right destination, for the right price, he can probably be convinced! I've been to Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, Missouri, Iowa, and Florida, (he's been to all, plus Nebraska) and we'd really like to visit a place we've never been to. We'd like it to be relatively cost effective, too. No more than 700 a person (flight and hotel) in the summer, and no more than 800 a person (flight and hotel) in the winter. Cheaper than that would obvisouly be GREAT!!! We have also entertained the idea of DRIVING somewhere, but we only have like 4 or 5 days to vacation, so that probably wouldn't be wise. So, where do you think we should go? When do you think we should go? What to do there? moreResolved Question: how much activation energy is used to boil an egg?
You like your soft boiled egg to be a 3-minute egg (i.e., cooked for 3 min) in Austin. During the summer you vacationed in the mountains in Colorado where water boils at 90◦C at 10,000 ft elevation. You found that it took 5 minutes to get the same quality of soft boiled egg. Assuming this is a first order reaction, what is the activation energy for the denatu- ration of the protein (i.e, the cooking of the egg)? 1. 122.3 kJ 2. 12.3 kJ 3. 57.5 kJ 4. 3.44 kJ 5. 86.0 kJ moreResolved Question: What are the best places to go vacation in Colorado over the summer?

My mom and I tend to take yearly vacations over the summer. This year we are not sure where we should go. We have visited Hawaii, sailed around Britain, hiked in Colorado, visited Savannah, Georgia; Charleston, South Carolina; toured the Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina; gambled in Branson, Missouri; and toured California a few times (most recently from San Francisco to LA). My mother is 60 and can no longer walk for long periods of time. We are thinking about New York, Prince Edward Island, or a cruise to Alaska. Does anyone have any other ideas?I would like the suggestions to go to Florida, but we both live in Fl. She has an annual pass to Epcot and I basically grew up at Disney and Universal. moreVoting Question: Does it make a differece what kind of government America has?
When on vacation I stopped in a coffee shop in Silverton, Colorado. The lady working the counter was a college student on summer vacation. We struck up a short conversation which concluded with her statement, "It doesn't make any difference what kind of government we have". I was left wandering what our kids are being taught in school today. moreResolved Question: I want to go to the mountains this summer on vacation. Preferably to Canada but I'm open minded. Where...?
Where can I go in the Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary area that would be fun for my wife and 7 year old daughter? She likes to camp. We'll go fishing and etc. This is a first for us so... Colorado, Montana or Wyoming are not out of the question either. Actually, how is Yellowstone for kids? moreResolved Question: Planning a trip to Colorado and would love input!?
Hi, I am getting married in a little over a year and would very much like to have a private wedding and mini vacation in Colorado. Neither one of us have ever been but have always wanted to. I would like a little rustic log cabin with a beautiful view, hot tub...nothing fancy beyond that. I really want a nice secluded place, but still would like to be able to drive and do some sightseeing, fishing, some really neat things that are not your typical outings. I have looked online a lot and have found a few places that interest me, but thought if I came here, there might be some personal experiences that could be shared! Oh....also we are going in the late spring or early summer Thank you so much! moreResolved Question: What is the wheather like in colorado springs during July?
I would like for my family to go camping in colorado springs this year as our family vacation but I dont know if its too hot for a tent or would we be better off getiing a cabin. We are from Louisiana so camping during July in tents are only for the extremest becasue the humidity and heat are unbareable during the summer. moreResolved Question: Getting from Denver Airport to Rocky Mountains?
My boyfriend and I are planning a hiking/camping trip to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado for this coming summer. We are planning to take a week for the entire vacation. The first night there we intend to stay at a hotel to get ready for our camping trip, but we can't figure out how to get from our Denver Airport-vicinity hotel to the Rocky Mountains National Park. As far as I have seen, there are no bus lines that run there from Denver. Also, we don't want to rent a car since there are no return facilities at RM National Park so we would have to pay $500 to keep the car for the week. Ideas? Anything helps! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Please check my answers if I am doing it right?

So I live in Colorado now and I do like it, but I don't want to stay here forever. So here's what I want in a place to live: Hot summers, snowy winters (not blizzards constantly though), nice falls, and nice springs. I want 4 distinct seasons. I also want to have a beach. I would like to live in a suburb of a relatively large city (similar to Denver or bigger is fine, just not much smaller). I'd love to live like 15 minutes from the downtown of the city. I don't want to live in a bad or rundown area what-so-ever. I want it to be a nice area, good for kids, etc. Within 4-5 hours of some great vacation spots would also be nice. Anyone have any ideas? moreResolved Question: i need help finding a place where i can ride on the beach?
as a "final ho-rah" before i go off to college, my family and i are going on vacation this summer. they told me i could pick anywhere i wanted to go (within reason- must be in inland U.S.). though im not normally a huge fan of the beach/ocean (i'm more of a woodsy-lake kinda person) i thought it would be really fun to do a beach vacation. i've already gone on a ride in the mountains when i went to colorado, so now im looking to do a beach ride. on top of this it would be good because that way my dad & i can go scuba diving. my mom and i also really like nature conservation stuff, so sanibel island first came to mind but i can't find if they have horseback riding and i've already been there. any ideas? thank you!Chincoteague is such a good idea! even if they don't have riding there, it would be so cool to see the ponies. there's a new chincoteague pony at my farm, he's about 12 hh and SO fiesty, he's kind of hilarious to watch moreResolved Question: What would be a super cheap, low key place to take my bf during spring break '10 in the U.S.?
This is going to sound crazy, lol, but I just won $2500 on a lottery ticket. No shit. I've been dreaming for the last 2 years to bring my bf to the states. He lives in Uganda (we met during an internship I had where he works 2 summers ago). I didn't think I'd be able to bring him here until after I graduated college and the whole shebang. I've already got this year and next year paid for through scholarships (I also found out I won another $1500 scholarship today!!) and so I'm thinking to hell with it, I'm only going to live once...and this is something I've always dreamed of being able to do. All of that said, I go to school in south-central Colorado and I would fly him in to New York. I check all of the time on flight prices and, after accounting for roundrtip airfare, visa fees, getting him to the embassy and airport, and all of that, I'd have about $500 left over (super low estimate). I make $500/month while in college and could easily save another $1500 towards the trip, for a total of $2000 to pay for airfare for me wherever we'd go, busfare for him to get to where we go (I'd fly him in a few days early), hotel, expenses, and food. Thoughts on where we ought to go? I'm cool with sleeping at a Motel 6 and the fanciest restaurant in town being Red Lobster--I was raised on those kinds of vacations. I don't want to go to your typical SB destination--aka, any place with a beach, drunken teens everywhere, and no hotels less than $150/night. Here are the things I'd like: hotel fare for <$120/night (for one week) good public transportation or many things within walking distance decent sights if in the city, or cheap-but-romantic if in the boonies cheap, low-key atmosphere. I'm open to pretty much anywhere, though someplace east of CO is preferred since I'll most likely fly him into NY. Thanks! moreResolved Question: How much will my trip to Florida cost?
My family is planning a vacation for us to go to Orlando, Florida this summer. We will probably be taking a plane there for the 3 of us (middle class) from the Denver, Colorado airport. So my question is this; What would cost the least amount of money? Going straight from Denver to Orlando without any stops, or going on a plane that stops half-way to Orlando, then getting on a different plane the rest of the way? Please answer! Thank you! moreResolved Question: After just how many hundreds of millions do we say enough to Sasha and Malia's Awesome Summer Vacation?
NBC local says: The Obama Girls Had a Better Summer Than You You can't compete with this "f Malia and Sasha Obama write "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" essays as they head back to school this week, oh, the stories they can tell. The tweens have prowled the Kremlin in trench coats, roamed a Harry Potter movie set in London, and studied slave history in Africa as they racked up tens of thousands of miles crisscrossing the Atlantic Ocean, time zones and international borders with their parents this summer. Stateside, 11-year-old Malia and 8-year-old Sasha explored the American West on a family tour of Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon. They went whitewater rafting in the rain and hail in Montana, watched Old Faithful shoot steam skyward, and spent time picking peaches in Colorado. Summer ended with a week at a secluded estate on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, where the girls dug their toes in the sand at the beach, rode bikes and hung out at an arcade, followed by a final getaway to the presidential retreat at Camp David, Md. http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/politics/Obama-Girls-Had-Better-Summer-Than-You-57704212.htmlOkay, I'll lower the estimate. Tens of millions. Just how much did their summer break cost the US taxapayer? moreVoting Question: were going on a vacation next summer? WHERE?
Ok so next summer i am going on a vacation with my friend and her family. everyone gets to pick where they want to go. our choices are: Hawaii, St. Thomas, St. KIts, Aruba, Cancun, Atlantis, Newport beach, Colorado, England, and Scotland. My friend and i are 14 years old, what do you think we'll like the best? moreResolved Question: my bully husband and my inlaws?
my husband seems to be married more to his mom than me, all decisions are made with her not me, we lived with his mum for a shot while last year and she made me feel very uncomfortable, letting me know everyday that she didn't,t want me there and she thought it was alright for her son to play his computers all day and work part time at night while i was working a 14 hour day. my husband last year went away to school and he seemed to think it was acceptable not to call me but instead live like a single guy. again his mom thought this was alright because he is 2 years younger than me, ( he is 27) i returned to my homeland england while my hub was at school and every time i said i was going to return he kept telling not to just yet, his excuse was he was trying to find an apartment ( shouldn't he be apartment looking with me not his mom) then he was saying that he was going up to ohio to pay his respects at his friends grave,( who got killed in iraq) but also a woman whom he met while at school lived up there also he told me that he was going to go and visit her and stay at hers and he didn't,t care if it upset me or not. i did return to the usa in the new year and the first thing he said to me was ' i thought u was going to ask for a divorce' an opportunity did arise in jan with a job in Colorado but again his mom talked him out of that because she didn't want him to be to far away, he changed when i got back i didn't,t have a job and very little money but he didn't,t give me anything i started to sell dvds and book on ebay which Was,t much but he expected me to buy food and gas with that do all his cooking and cleaning even my tax return money he didn't,t give me anything, he just thought it was his right to treat me more like a slave and force me to have sex with him, when i did eventually get a job i was working 12 hours a day and he forced me by shouting at me and driving me to the bank to get money he was begging to scare me but again his mom thought this was alright. when we did get our own apartment he forced me to give him all my money but when i refused he shouted at me saying that i gave him nothing. he pushed me around sexually assaulted me. it got to where i couldn't,t take it anymore and said i was going to visit my parents for a vacation in the summer and i havn,t gone back. When i met my husband he was in the army based in europe he was a different person it is only since we got back to the usa that he has changed he has made me feel like he is embarrassed of me and never took me out anywhere, his mom and dad are very intimidating and it feels like im not important i am having my baby her in the uk where i know i and my baby will be safe am i been selfish?I have worked as a teacher looked after other people's children for the last 10 year's my pregnancy was not planned but i decied to keep the baby with a hope he would change but he just got worse and lazier. i went back to my husband hoping that the man i met and feel in love with would be there but it is obvious he is not and that he is full of crap and dosn't really love me he is a mommies boy and i was the doormat, i think after speaking to a close a friend here i have finally realised that he is no good for me and i should walk away moreResolved Question: Planning a vacation in the summer?
Just need opinions on what you think is better and what each state would offer. We are open to anything, and it would be a week long stay. The choices are (this includes anywhere in the state) 1. Tennessee 2. Colorado 3. New Mexico moreResolved Question: vacation in colorado or maine?
Which is a better place to vacation in the winter?? I am interested in going to both states but not really sure which is better to visit in the winter.. I would like to stay in a cabin. Also what are somethings you can do in the summer in maine?? moreResolved Question: What would you name these kids?
1. You are married to a man named Joshua and just moved into a 3 bedroom stone craftsman house in Colorado. You have a job as either an author or a singer, which one do you choose? 2. One day you begin feeling sick. You see a doctor and find out you are pregnant, with triplets! You can't believe it. It is one boy and two girls. If you chose author all first names have to be after famous writers or book characters, if you chose singer, all first names have to be of your favorite singers or have to do with music. All middle names should be the same amount of syllables. 3. You love your triplets, and you love motherhood. When they are 4 you all take a skiing trip to Aspen and have a great time. So great that when you come home you wind up pregnant. This time it is with a twin boy and girl! First names can be your favorite boy and girl names, one of the middle names must be Aspen, and one has to do with winter or snow (you can pick for either the boy or girl). 4. The triplets are now 6, twins are now 4, they all get along pretty well. During the summer you all take another vacation, do you go to Hawaii or to Disneyland in California? 5. Another great trip leads to another great night. You are pregnant again! This time it is just with one, you are relieved. You find out it is a girl. If you went to Hawaii give her a Hawaiian first name and any middle name, if you went to Disneyland give her a Disney Princess name, any middle name. 6. Five years later and six kids later you definitely feel you are done. Your career has also taken off. If you are an author what genre do you write? If you are a singer what type of music do you sing? You are very cramped in the house so you move. Do you move to a large beautiful Victorian house or a modern glass mansion? 7. It is a year later, you are all settled in. The triplets are about to graduate 6th grade, the twins are 10 years old, and your little girl is 6. You are thinking about another trip for just the two of you, until plans change. You are pregnant again! It was unplanned but you are happy. It is twin boys! If you chose the Victorian house give them old fashioned first and middle names, if you chose the modern house give them trendy, modern names and middle names. 8. (Optional) Your kids are all grown up now, what do they do for jobs, where do they live, and are there any grandkids? Thanks for playing!Mine: 1. Author 2. I am 27, lived in Houston, TX my whole life and I am quite bored of it. I have vacationed (winter and summer) in Colorado 4 times and I absolutely love it, my favorite state by far. So I was thinking about getting a travel nurse assignment and coming to Colorado for a few months. What city would be the best for a single 27 yr old female. I love snowboarding, hiking, biking, fishing, and also good night life :) Any advice would be GREAT!!Oh and I would most likely want to be in the city, with a good medical center. :) Im guessing Denver will be my most popular answer... can anyone tell me what to expect... weather/expenses/single life/medical center? moreVoting Question: How do I get rid of this persistent jock itch that is eating my skin and infecting my scrotum?
After returning from a vacation in Nice, France, I seem to have jock itch. I swam in the Mediterranean Sea every day while I was there for two weeks. I didn't have jock itch then. After a few days back in the US, I now have jock itch. I've tried everything, but I can't seem to get rid of it. Currently, I'm using Derman antifungal cream, as it seems to be the only one that helps a little. I've tried Desenex with 2% Miconazole Nitrate, and that doesn't work either. Could it be a bacterial infection? Something is definitely eating me, as I often find fine pieces of dead skin in my underwear. My scrotum is bright red, and I'm not sure what to do. I usually wash it once a day, but sometimes (especially during the summer) I don't take a shower everyday. It's like my skin sheds and peels off as if I had dandruff, only it happens down there. I'm 18, I wear briefs, and I live in Colorado (high altitude). What's wrong here? I had a problem like this once before, and I saw a dermatologist who referred me to several creams. Nothing worked, and I lost faith in the medical system. They didn't seem to care that I had some form of jock itch. Since then, I've just been using medicated baby powder after every shower, and it was working great! But after my French trip, it's definitely something else, as my skin is being eaten. What should I do or what should I try?I don't think I need any anti-depressive drugs... moreResolved Question: Have you taken a vacation this summer?
I am thinking about taking a drive through Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas for business purposes. And it looks like my work will give me the closest opportunity for a vacation. But, enough about me. Where have you vacationed this year? If you haven't... This is my first trip like this since 2004...So, please do not get upset about my question if you did not have a vacation. moreResolved Question: divorce, don't know what to do.?
My husband and I have been separated (not legally but physically) since the end of May and I am ready to file for divorce and would like to seek custody. My son and I are in California (my parents vacation home) just for the next 5 days and then am going to go to Iowa where my parents live and where my son was born and lived until he was 7mo old ( i would like to start over there). Ok, Well me and this girl Mercadez became friend over a year and a half ago. At first we were on-and-off friends, (keep in mind this is my brothers girlfriend) Then when we were sort of friends, a little mishap had occurred and she was there for me threw it all. That night we made a promise to not fight this summer and ignore everything bad.. Then a couple weeks ago we went on vacation to colorado and long story short my brother told her that if she were my friend then they would break up. Now I feel like I've lost my best friend.. I've tried talk to her about it and she said we're still friends but we aren't as close as we were :( help. Also do you know any quotes to match my situation..? moreResolved Question: Why might this be? Does excitement cause you to start your period?
See, this is REALLY weird. So I've had 3 vacations planned this summer. One in disneyland. One in Colorado. And tomorrow I am leaving for San Diego for a week. During the last two vacations I was on my period. Now, today (the day before I leave for the 3rd vacation), I have just started my period. And it hasn't even been 28 days! Not even 3 weeks! And my last two periods were off schedule as well.... So, I was wondering, can excitement cause you to start your period early? moreResolved Question: Does breaking a lot of mirrors give you really bad luck?
or is it just me? haha, because I've been having a lot of bad luck lately. So, I this summer I had 3 vacations planned. One in disney land. One in colorado. And tomorrow I am leaving for san diego. Unfortunetly It was "that time of the month" during the last 2 vacations, and guess what? It is "that time of the month" now again. hahaha I can't believe it. At least I can laugh about it, right? moreResolved Question: boyfriend invited his female friend on vacation O.o?
I was invited to go with my boyfriend's family on their annual week long trip to Colorado last year, but I couldn't go because of other commitments. This year I've been invited to go again, and am able to! Yay, right? I was super excited, thinking it'd be great and looking forward to spending some time with my boyfriend since I haven't seen him much this summer. However, yesterday he told me that one of his (female) friends was going to California around the same time, so he invited her to drive up with us, spend a few days, and then leave for CA. If this was just a vacation I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it, but this trip is for his family reunion where I'm supposed to be getting to meet his family. I've been dating him for 2 years so it's time for me to meet the rest of the family, but now I'll be introduced to them all at the same time as this female friend. I don't want him to have to tell his friend that she can't go, I just feel slightly hurt that being invited on this trip isn't as important as I thought it was. Any advice as to how to talk to my boyfriend about this? I don't think I'm 'just being jealous' but I'd thought of this trip as a big step forward, now I'm not sure it means that much to him too.I have met her, she's nice & definitely not a whale >< and yes, the whole trip is the reunion. We're all going to stay at one of the uncle's houses for the week of 'family partying' as his mom puts it moreResolved Question: going on family vacation with boyfriend... and his female friend... help? O.o?
I was invited to go with my boyfriend's family on their annual week long trip to Colorado last year, but I couldn't go because of other commitments. This year I've been invited to go again, and am able to! Yay, right? I was super excited, thinking it'd be great and looking forward to spending some time with my boyfriend since I haven't seen him much this summer. However, yesterday he told me that one of his (female) friends was going to California around the same time, so he invited her to drive up with us, spend a few days, and then leave for CA. I've been putting away dependent care money based on the knowledge that I would have to spend more of it when summer vacation hit. My company laid me off at the end of May, leaving about $1400 unspent in my dependent care account. They tell me that I can only claim expenses that happened before I was laid off, and that they'll keep the rest. Is this legal? Can I get my money back? I'm in Colorado. moreResolved Question: where should my family go on vacation?

Ok so i was at a party this past weekend and i met this girl who is amazing. shes beautiful funny and smart. So we flirted a little and she gave me her number. i decided i wanted to date her but then she told me that she lives in colorado while i live in new mexico. so i guessed it was a one nite romance until she told me she might come back for her summer vacation. i was so excited i nearly lost it. so we got to know each other and we have so much in common. we love the same music, hate country, and we both have the same relationship problems. so then a day later she tells me i should have kissed and made out with her at the party. i was pretty shy so i didnt but i wanted to. so basically weve been flirting for 5 days and i thought everything was going good, but then she told me im really far away for anything to happen. Wat should i do? moreResolved Question: Does elevation affect dogs?

Our original plan for vacation this year was the Southwest, specifically Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. I started thinking out of the box and was looking into something more exotic, and came up with Tokyo or Paris. We have 10-12 days to spend. The question is which one? Tokyo is more expensive, but not as much more as I thought. Probably another $500 for flight and hotel total for the two of us. We are in our early 50's, and have travelled outside of North America once, to London about 5 years ago. She's a teacher so we are locked into summer vacations for the time being. moreResolved Question: Planning a trip to Pikes Peak and I am nervous about it can anyone give information?
My husband and kids want to go to Colorado this summer but I am a little worried about it. They want to go up to the top of Pikes Peak of course but I have severe anxiety attacks. I was in a car accident a few years ago and I started to have anxiety attacks any time we are driving in a lot of traffic, narrow roads, construction zones that are narrow, and on large or long bridges with a lot of traffic. I don't like to ride in a car on roads I am not used to driving on. A couple of years ago we went to Arizona due to a family emergency and when we were coming back we took a different road which had a 7% grade and had several signs even before we got to it for you to check your brakes before starting down it and for truckers to check brakes also. On the way down it was steep, curvy, long, and had emergency pull offs with sand pits to stop any truckers that had brake problems. I was hyperventilating the whole way down, I broke out in a cold sweat, and got sick to my stomach. I know Pikes Peak is very tall and I am afraid of how steep the road is, how narrow the road is , and how safe it is to travel. I know I may sound like a nut case but this fear has got me really not wanting to go on vacation. My husband says the trip up and down are easy and not steep but I have not been able to find any information on it other than keep the car in the lowest gear coming down, to downshift if your engine gets too much of a load on it, and when you get to the top or bottom to idle your car fast to cool down the engine. None of this is making me feel any better about the trip. So after all of that explaination can anyone tell me about how narrow and steep the roads are going to Pikes Peak? Thank you in advance! moreResolved Question: Help with some vacation ideas.?

My budget isn't huge, but I still want it to be nice. I'm asking you all for any nice ideas for a last hurrah. Well it may not be a last hurrah, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. moreResolved Question: Where to go on vacation in or around Colorado?
