When i got home from florida i was told I was moving back to Georgia.. Where im from. Im in arkansas right noww. Well my friend has asked me to live with her and finish off the year. Im gonna be in 8th grade i made the Jr. High cheer squad and everything was going great. Im thinking if i leave all my accomplishments will go to waste. I have heard u can get tired of a friend easily but that rarely happens with us. If i leave i will take flights down there during the summer. For at least a month. I have never written anything and need this for a literary class. Just need opinions on it. Don't know where I am going with the story yet. Thanks.... That was the summer I turned seventeen and it was a hot sticky mess. One stir and the ice in your cup would swirl into a liquid. Sitting in my parents run down green Dodge Dakota, the cracked leather seats were sticking to my legs like super glue was holding them there. I sighed. Here I was running through my last teen years and more than half the summer gone. A few more weeks and I was starting my senior year. I should have been excited. Wasn't that how all the seniors in movies acted like? Maybe it was the fact that the biggest thrill coming from graduating from this small town was the fact I could get out. Waldron Arkansas. Just the name of it sounded small. I had lived here my whole life. My parents grew up a few miles away in Booneville but decided they wanted to stretch their wings. So they made it as far as 26 miles away. I guess their wings weren't very good at flapping. Oh well, I thought, another year and I was home free. Off to UCF. University of Central Florida. I was going to try to stretch my wings just a bit further. I wiped the sweat from my neck and then looked across the backseat. My little brother was fast asleep like usual. It amazes me how anyone, toddler included could sleep through this weather. I was in the truck with him while my parents did their grocery shopping. They said it was easier than dragging Tyler out of his seat and waking him. Tyler, my brother, was three. I liked to believe he was an accident. I mean honestly what woman wants another child at my mom's age? My mom was 43 when she had him. To me that just seems so weird. I mean when he graduates she will be in her sixties. I knew I didn't want children young because I wanted college before marriage and all that but I also knew I wasn't waiting too long. Maybe 28?30? I guess I would need a guy first before I wanted babies and that didn't look like it was going to happen anytime soon. My mind drifted back to school again while I silently prayed my parents would hurry up, I could use some cool water. I don't know why guys never paid attention to me in school. I didn't look like Amber and her friends that's for sure, but I didn't look that bad. Amber and her frineds were the cheerleaders. Bottle blond hair, blue eyes, and perfect bronze bodies. I don't think they ever ate. I on the other hand had slightly wavy hair that was the color of chocolate. My wide eyes matched. I was 5'3” and dreamed of gaining just an inch or two more. Oh well, genetic makeups can take a toll. I looked like a much younger version of my mom except she had a nice tan color and I was pale. Tyler looked a lot like my dad. Curly straw colored hair and pretty blue eyes with lases that were just beautiful. I always wondered why I didn't get those lashes. My dad was six foot tall and a nice tan color also. I always wondered why I never darkened even if I sun bathed all day. Stupid genetics. I decided I need to stretch my legs before they got permentlty stuck and decided I could walk around the truck. Right when I was about to open my door I noticed a boy looking at me. Okay maybe not me, maybe he was looking at the rusted out truck I was in. The truck really was a sight for sore eyes as they say. I took my door off the handle and decided not to get out. I peeked out of the corner of my eye and realized he wasn't just looking in my direction but he was headed my way. Crap. Guys always showed up when I looked the worst I decided. Maybe he was just interested in the truck I hoped. He was definitely not from around here. I decided to give him a small smile. He was probably;y lost and need directions back to the highway. This isn't a town people usually vacation to. He looked to be about my age. He was really good looking too. He stopped a few feet from the truck. “Hello”, the mystery man said,”my name is Brent. I need some help”. Brent, the name matched him that's for sure. He was wonderful in all ways to look at it. He had dark brown almost black hair and beautiful green eyes. He was tan, but not fake tan, almost like he worked outdoors a lot. His muscles that were showing proved he worked hard because they weren't built like a gym rats muscles but more like tough work put them there. I liked it. I guess the smile along with my lingering eyes made him wonder if I had a hearing problem because he asked me again if I could help. I snapped out of it and answered,”Sure, I can help. Your looking for the way to get on the highway right? If you follow-” He cut me off, “ No I am looking for Chestnut Lane. My family and I just moved here. Turns out our GPS does not work out this way.” He laughed and then sighed like this was not his dream to be in this small town. I smiled, so I guess I was going to get to see this one again. I need to convince my parents to let me go on a week long trip to Alabama (I live in Arkansas) leaving in a little over a week. A friend of mine invited me to go with him and I'd really like to join in on the fun. I'm a 18 year old female, and my friend is a 25 year old male - I believe this is the problem. My friend and I were somewhat dating a few months back, however we decided that it wasn't really working out, therefore this trip will not be anything romantic-just two friends having a good time together. We are both very responsible adults, we both have full time jobs, are pursuing our degrees, don't do drugs, all the smart decisions are made in our lives. I even lived by myself an hour away from home for 8 months during the school year. This summer I am working three jobs (one full time, one part time, and one when I free time from the other two), I'd really like to take a vacation.... Any ideas on how I can convince my parents that nothing terrible will happen on this vacation, that my friend is a very trustworthy person (I'd honestly trust him with my life), and that it's alright to let me have one week to myself? about 8 months ago, I went to Arkansas for summer vacation in July. it was quite humid and bugs were everywhere, I got a few bug bites, but when I came back I itched them a little and they multiplied. then I kept itching them, and they turned into wounds, and started to bleed, I put neosporine on them but it didn't do anything, then they scabbed over, and I kept putting medication on them. about 3 months later they weren't infected or anything they just were inflamed, I went to the doctor and they gave me some Trimacleniod cream or something like that, its a super inflammation reliever I know that. Anyways they healed within 2 or 3 months. but now they left scars that look like little bruises, they are embarrassing I can't wear shorts or skirts. and when I do I'm very self concise. I've tried makeup and foundation but they don't look right and wear off quickly. Should I be worried? What can I do? What are these called? more

I am trying to take my family on a 4-5 day vacation somewhere in either Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama or Mississippi. Hello, A group of us are looking to take a mountain biking vacation next summer and we're just looking for some suggestions. We would like to do a week-long trip, with about 4 days of biking and the rest of the time available for driving. Now, economical times being what they are, we have some restrictions on where we can travel. As much as we would love to go to British Columbia or Moab, we will need to stick closer to our homes, which are in Wisconsin and Minnesota. So, does anyone have any good ideas of places to go biking (again, singletrack mtn. biking, please) in the central North America area? If you have a map of the continent in front of you, please imagine or actually do this: Put your pencil on Buffalo, NY, and draw a circle counter clockwise from Buffalo through Ontario, Manitoba, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, a bit of Oklahoma, northern Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, some of Pennsylvania, and back to Buffalo. It does not need to be a perfect circle. An oval would be acceptable as well. Do you know of any great places to spend 4 days mountain biking anywhere inside that circle/oval? We're looking for some challenging trails that are good for full-suspension bikes. Suggestions for lodging (vacation properties, interesting hostels, or camping preferred, no hotels please) and fun area nightlife or decent brewery tours in the area of the bike trails would also be welcome. Okay, So this summer on vacation in arkansas I met this really awesome guy who is totally in love with me and I'm in love with him. His name is Connor and he lives really close to my hometown. But Connor and I never really got a chance to talk so I miss him deeply! Now the school year ahas started and Last year I had a huge crush on this guy named morgan but he wasn't in my class and I think he liked me back somewhat. Now this year he's in my class even though he wasn't supposed to be but the lists got mixed up. Now I'm in love with Connor and I think Morgan likes me but I dont' like him anymore but I just want to be friends. Does morgan like me? because he sits right next to me. looks at me alot. tries to talk to me but only when not alot of people are around. and after I read outloud in Lit. today he raised his hand to read after me. Me, my hubby and our kids (age 4 years and 5 weeks) are planning on a family vacation in Feb. I know it's better to go in the summer but he is returning from Iraq then. We live in arkansas and we are planning on driving, no flying. Where is a good inexpensive place we can go to get away and relax but still have fun things to do for the kids. I was kinda thinking cabin, lake, beautiful mountian view. But I guess the kids would not have fun unless there was other stuff to do near by.
