i just completed the gr 8 RCM piano exam with first class honors, it didn't take me too long, about 3 months. now she's just nuts, she wants me to jump on to gr 10 RCM piano and do the exam in the early august which is MY VACATION TIME,she's also making me to take summer school this year to get extra credits which i don't know why? i get all my credits in school and achieve averages like 90, im an excellent student in school, i get involved in a lot of extracurricular activities, like clubs, bands and sport teams, and i am the only grade representative in my grade chosen by the students which also means i am popular. i know this isn't something a popular kid do but im frustrated. i live in canada with my mom and most of my family is in china, going back to china this year is like something i planned decades ago and i wanna have a good time. me and my mom argues a lot over piano, last time she smashed my Dell Alienware which was like a 2000 dollar gaming laptop just because i didn't practice for enough time. Now i've passed grade 8 piano with first class honors and i even have 5 students i charge them 20 dollars an hour im pretty happy with it. but for the past few days me and my mom have been going around and looking for piano teachers, all of the teachers said that it's almost an impossibility to pass gr 10 in just 5 months, an average piano player takes about 15 months to prepare for the gr 10 exam. but she doesn't care, she doesn't know anything about piano and all she wants is for me to pass gr 10 ASAP. i said to her that i will practice the pieces i like and when i come back from china i will start gr 10 and yea blah blah blah. that just started a big argument she's talking about things like how smart i am and other bullcrap. then im like F*CK YOU MOM i dont give a sh!t, im tired of writing this bullsh!t anyways. so, is it possible to pass gr 10 in 5 months? more

Hi there, I’m an 18 year old Canadian who frequently travels to the United States to visit my aunt and uncle who live there. Through high school, I would only visit for a week or two at a time every few months. After High school I planned on taking a year off to travel, so, after graduating, I received the graduation present to go to the States to visit with my family, and do some traveling while I was there (Florida, Grand Canyon, etc.) I ended up staying 5 months in the US. After coming back home to Canada, about a week later my Uncle called me up to explain that he was going to California and asked if I wanted to go. Of course I said yes. We booked the tickets for the following weekend, and I packed. When I got to the airport, everything seemed fine until I got to Customs. Usually they would just ask me who I’m staying with, and let me through. This time, they pulled me aside into an interrogation room! Needless to say I was terrified and confused as to why the sudden change, but they explained to me that I had just gone to the states for 5 months, came back for two weeks, and then was planning another month long trip there. The officer asked if I had a job, bills, etc. under my name in Canada, and I had been gone for 5 months so I hadn’t had any recent documents. I was told by others that he was trying to make sure I wasn’t a 'Defacto US Citizen'. They asked many questions, including what my aunt and uncle did as a profession, how much money I had on me, and they even said to me 'what is your boyfriends name down there?' ... When I don’t even have a boyfriend down there? The man had asked for my Itinerary, but I told him I hadn’t printed it out, because with all my trips down there I never printed it out, and it hadn’t been a problem. He then assumed that I only had a 1-WAY Ticket to the US, and he assumed I didn’t plan on coming back. I don't see why he couldn’t have just went on his computer and checked if I had one or not (don’t they have access to this information?) After waiting another 30 minutes while he got someone to check for him, he let me through, but he stapled this small white paper to one of my Passport pages that said I had to be back in Canada by the specified date (which was the date that was on my Itinerary), or else there would be a warrant for my arrest! I realize he was only taking precautions, and doing his job. So finally, my question is, when can I return to the USA to see my family again? I do have a job now, and I have bills under my name. I returned home at the beginning of February, and I wanted to go down in June and spend the summer there (until mid August), so I can have a small vacation before I start College in September. I will have been home for 3 months, working full-time. Will they let me back in? Should I bring evidence that I plan to return home, just incase? (Such as my College acceptance letter, to prove ill be home by September? My Bills, paystubs, etc?) I'll be sure to bring my itinerary. Any help or personal experiences will be helpful. The last thing I want to be is banned from the US and not be able to see my family at all! more

I got a new computer during Christmas in 2008 and since then i've been getting acne. Its getting worse and worse. So, during the summer i went on vacation for 2 month where i almost did not use computers and my skin was clear. I came back to Canada with my same habit of using computers for 2-3 hours and got acne again. Currently I have an interim order that allows me to see my son only twenty nine hours every two weeks. He will be six in January. I want to see him more. His mother is not co operative. We have a court date in February and I cannot afford a lawyer. I was also not approved for legal aid. I just wanted to know what I can do to make sure that I get as much time as possible with my son. He loves to spend time with me and his extended family. He has said things like "I wish I could see you guys more, but my mommy won't let me." I don't want my son to get screwed over just because I do not have enough money for a lawyer. Please let me know what I can do to get maximum access. I would like the following: Every other weekend 1 overnight during the week (so I can be a part of his educational life as well) 4 weeks during the summer. 1 week at Winter Break Split Holidays I want the right to pick him up for events such as my birthday, his brother's birthday party, his grandmother's birthday, reunions, etc.... with proper notice... (I had to fight just to allow him to come and see his brother when he was born) I also want two additional weeks vacation time which I could choose every other year to take him out of school for a certain amount of days for an education trip. I would want it to be approved by the teacher first and foremost however. I want to be able to make important decisions about him as well. Educational, religious, medical, etc... Please let me know if I can get this, or if I can get anymore. Also, please inform me if there is anything I can do to make me look better. I live in New Brunswick CanadaHe was 4 when the original order was made, but that was because she wasn't allowing me to see him at all and he didn't time to adjust to getting to know me again. My husband of 7 yrs and I are divorcing next yr and its pretty much an amicable split. We love eachother but have grown apart over the last 10 years. We want different things out of life now. Before we got married we agreed that if we ever divorced and had any children, the boys would be raised with their father and the girls with me. I know its bad to split up the children but it would be better than one person having to shoulder the responsibility of taking care of all the kids. Our son is 5 and my husband has decided to move to Canada and start a new life. We have agreed for him to have full custody and I will have our son on holidays and all school breaks including summer vacation. I live in Chicago so its not too far for me to travel to Toronto to visit our son but I am still torn between letting him go and raising him myself. I agreed to this because I saw how being raised without a father hurt my brother and how much anger and resentment he built up and how hard it was for our mother to control him. So I am a Canadian who went on a working holiday to Ireland for a year. While I was there I met a guy and we quickly became good friends and we did everything together from going to the shop for five minutes to shopping. We even moved with each other on 4 different occasions. We drank together all the time just me and him and we shared stories with each other. Towards the end of the trip we would sleep in the same room on separate couches eventhough we each had our own rooms. On a couple of occasions we even shared a bed eventhough there were other options available and we would never wear pants when we slept either in the same bed or on the couches. I also know that he has talked to his family about me lots as they all wished me well when i had to leave. However my friend did sleep with women while i was there as well, and at one point I had a friend from Canada come and visit me and the two hooked up (no sex). Eventually my visa finished and i returned to canada and we continued to keep in touch via facebook and IM. In the summer after being home for only four months me and my friend (the one who he made out with who now had a major crush on him) went back to Ireland. While there we did not sleep int he same room and he and my friend ended up having sex (although my friend is really headstrong and would easily initiate things). But when we went to Ireland we went to a music festival. While there him and my friend shared a blanket yet each night usually a part of my body was touching his. Then when we were really drunkwe both went to the portapottys to pee and when i opened the door he was standing there and he rushed in and shut the door, grabbed me by the hips, looked me int he eyes and said that he was soo happy to see me and that it kinda sucked that my other friend was there. This was followed by a short awkward silence of us staring into each others eyes and holding each other by the hips like he was expecting a kiss but i was paralyzed with joy and he leaned in and licked my face and said my friend is so hot though and ran out the door. Shortly after this we went to the concert area and he kept saying lets go to the washroom and i said yes lets go but we never did. Eventually i left by myself to go see a band that none of the other people really knew and when we left each other eventhough it was only gonna be for like an hour or so we gave each other a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Later int he vacation we decided to get dressed up in our nice clothes and go drinking just for fun. Numerous times when we were getting ready he told me i looked good. Tehn after a few pints he started dancing up on me, moreso me than my friend. Then he would unbutton his shirt and get me to motorboat him which i was happy to do and he motorboated me and at one point unbuttoned his shirt and, grabbed my hand, and made me touch his chest. This made me happy cuz i thought he actually did like me and throughout the day we would constantly go to the washroom with eachother and try to get a stall just for us. ianlly later int he night we went to the washroom and the stall opened up and i signalled to him so we both went in. I unbuttoned his shirt again and motorboated him and then kissed him on the cheek in a somewhat passionate way. He did not respond and left shortly after. We have yet to ever bring these up again. Later the same summer he came to canada but this time spent most of his time at my friends house (the one that he slept with) and even went on a boating trip with her without me. Needless to say his trip to canada wasnt asnice as my trip to Ireland, nothing exceptional happened other than a drunken trip to the washroom once again when camping but both of us were too sober i think. To this day we talk nearly daily and he had sent me a bday card for my bday and called me on my bday. hes constantly asking me when can i come back to ireland cuz he cant wait for another airport reunion. As to what hes saying to my other friend that he claims he likes im not sure but they dont seem to be talking as often as they used to. Now he is planning on coming to canada for a year and is planning to come sooner than previously planned and once told me if he could afford it he would come now. he already has told me he is living with me (which is about 4 hours drive away from my female friend). I am madly in love with him and think about him constantly and hes my best friend to and dont wanna risk losing him as a friend so how should i proceed? Theres many more things that have made me wonder about whether he is gay or straight but this question is already long enough. Also his parents are really old school and religious which i think would inhibit him on coming out completely but he knows that i can keep secrets so im not sure. Also Ireland isnt exceptionally as gay friendly as Canada.Also should I wait until we are face to face to tell him this or should I send him an email so that he knows before he fully commits to coming to canada and living with me. more

Canada is great as it is, but I notice one thing missing. Canada could have at least one city along the lines of "Monte Carlo on the French Riviera with 24-hour nightlife and the surf and sand. Or like South Beach, Miami, Florida or Fort Lauderdale (South Florida) where tropical beaches with latin salsa music and delicious cuisines all along an ocean strip with jacuzis and hotel lounges. You could put more of that in Canada in summer when beach weather permits. Or like Los Angeles sunset strip or Hollywood Boulevard. Don't Canadians like to vacation to these beach cities every so often? I don't want the Maritimes to become like that though because it has a unique flavour of its own, a more intimate traditional flavour. But depending on the mood, you may want the night-life techno DJ club cafe party-all-night type of beach town, and Canada doesn't seem to have that. Canada could make a city more like Miami Beach and use gas lamps to warm the air and make this beach paradise off the East Coast of Nunavut. Why not? And then have casino cruises to Hans Island. This is long, but I hope detailed enough to provide a glimpse of the torment I am in. The story starts 10 years ago, almost to the day. I was married and living with my wife and son, who was 4 y.o. at the time. For reasons I did not understand (she later said it was post-partum..?), my wife became violent. The violence escalated quickly and changed from yelling and throwing things at the wall to throwing things at *me* and hitting me very aggresively (she is not a "pussycat"..). One time, she threw something very hard and heavy at me and missed, but instead it headed straight towards my son's head. Luckily, he ducked. She was already on anti-depressants at this stage and seeing a professional, but in her own words she "hated me and I just made her angry". I never hurt her or yelled and never to this day understood why she turned into this "Hyde" after our son was born. I tried for almost another year to be supportive and to just survive, but her aggression never stopped and I feared for both my life and my son's life. I could see that he was starting to sense the constant anger from her when I was around his mom and I didn't know what else to do. She said she hated me being there so I did the only thing I knew I could do: I left her. I was never an absent father, though. Even for the few months I was living in another country (Canada vs. USA), I flew him down to visit me for 10 days. Then when I realized I needed to be closer to him, I left behind a dream-job to move where he lived with his mom and took a typical crap-job just so I could get by, but be able to see him on weekends. I lived there for several years, working my way up a chain of command at the new job and eventually met someone who became my new wife. I always kept his needs at the top, though. I wanted so badly to show him a positive, loving relationship.. what two people are *supposed* to be like. My new wife and I had him over very regularly and saw him often. We took him on trips and nice vacations and he seemed to be very happy and well-adjusted to his lifestyle. I often talked to him about his life and that it wasn't "like all the other kids", but he even admitted that he wasn't the only child of a broken-marriage and that it was fun to have two homes. My wife and I always made sure that our home was his. He had his own bedroom at our house and his own clothes and personal belongings. When he needed something, he got it. When he wanted to do something, we did it. He was always the focus of our attention. A time came for us to branch out after being in the small Canadian town to someplace where we could start building a proper life for ourselves, always telling my son that he was included in the life we were trying to build. We found a place where we could purchase an affordable home in a good area where we could both get good positions in our field (small Canadian towns are not great for I.T. professionals..). After being in my son's home town and seeing him regularly for five years (we even took him to the town we were moving to several times so he could see the benefits), I left. He was 10 y.o. at the time. For the next two years, we visited him regularly (at least 2-3 times a year) and had him visit on summer and Christmas breaks. This was the best we could do, as where we settled was in the US and on the opposite coast (my wife's home town where we both had a support network). During our visits to him and his visits to us and for the great vacations we took him on, he seemed to be very happy with us. My wife and I always did everything we could to make sure he was a part of our life and was included in everything we did. We took him car shopping and house shopping and told him that he would always be welcome in our home and would always have a room. On his last trip to us, when he was 12 y.o., he told me that he wanted to move to us, permanently, to live and go to school. Since everything I'd done since I left his mom was to try and give him a good home, I was ecstatic! A year later, he came to the US with the intent of staying (it took time to make it happen with his mom and the school system so he went back to Canada for the current school year). While he was here with us, he had his own room and his own space (more than he ever had in his mom's house) and we did everything we could to provide for him and support him. I often talked to him, just he and I, and asked if he was happy and if there was anything else I could do to improve things. He always said that things were great and he was happy. We also went through the lengthy (and costly!!) process of getting him his permanent residence to the US. Then, while he was supposedly visiting his mom in Canada over the summer, she called up and said that he had decided to not come back - that he was staying with her. So we've been bestest of friends for like....ever. We were the closest 6-8th grade. Now I'm a freshman in highschool. So is she. I used to go to the same school she does. Both parents when to some fancy shmansy university in Russia and they brought me here and it is so horrible. - I'm not allowed to get any grade lower than a A- (once I got a B on a French Pop Quiz and I got grounded and got my computer and TV time taken away for two weeks) - If I do get lower than A- I get the "I'm never gonna get into a good high school, college, and going to spend my life working as a garbage woman for the rest of my life and other crap" lecture. - They make me do a tutoring class each week to prepare for the ISEE, which is a test kind of like the SAT except for high school. AND they said I have to do an hour a day of studying from this ISEE prep book. - My dad forced me to get 10 french books from my french teacher so I don't forget the language. (We went to Canada for the beginning of summer, I spoke nothing BUT french, they don't even speak french! I had to translate everything for them, they even quizzed me on every single word, during vacation!) - Just a few days ago my mom was saying good night and started ranting on how I did nothing with my summer, how I didn't study, how I have nothing to put on my college application, and how I'm just lazy and sit around doing nothing all day! (I did swim practice, tae-kwon-do, voice class, test prep, test studying, french reading, we went to Canada, Cape Cod!) - Everyday they say: Did you read your French books, did you do your Tae-kwon-do practice, did you study, did you do your hw? 1 I finished my french books 2 months ago! 2. I finish my homework the day I get it! 3. I study every stinkin day, it's summer, jeez! 4. I practice tae-kwon-do when my parents go to work, or my mom goes shopping in NYC, and they don't believe me when I say I did practice. But I can't practice when we're not home because our apartment is too small, and even though they know nothing about karate, they will try to but in and correct and watch my every move! Oh, and here comes the worst part, they watch over like hawks over everything I eat! When I was little they used to sometimes buy me oreos, goldfish crackers, and even a milky way bar if i was good! Now, they stopped buying ice cream, they buy flax seed oil trailmix oatmeal cookies (I'd rather eat garbage). They say it's too much sugar and chemicals. They used to say that I should eat fruits instead. So I started eating fruit, and they now stopped buying a lot of fruit because "fruit has too much sugar" WTFH? Once I took a handful of raisinsOnce I took a handful of raisins (me trying to be healthy so my parents get off my back) and my mom tells me to put half of them back because raisins have too much sugar! They are obsessed with healthy, they made me quit drinking cow milk, eating cheese, white bread, cookies, ice cream, chocolate, coffee, and meat. 1. I'm not lactose-intolerant (NO ONE IN MY FAMILY IS!) 2. I don't have food allergies (I know, I've had a blood test and the doctor says I have no food allergies) 3. I'm 13, 5 foot 3.5 inch and 100 pounds, my BMI is 18. I take sports all year round! I know they want me to be healthy, but they practically let me have no candy or anything like they used to. My grandma has Diabetes (the kind were you can't eat a lot of sugar) but my parents don't have it, and no one else in my family does. I'm always jealous of my friends cause their parents are relaxed and don't limit their food, or make them study in the summer, or hover over them 24/7. Oh, and my mom always complOh, and my mom always complains about how much money I cost for clothes and braces. 1. My mom is the one who makes me shop at Hollister and A&F and AE and Aero. (Yes, she! I say, why can't we go to Kholes or something or macy's to save money and buy more!?) She says that those stores have better quality. I like the clothes, but the perfumes make me GAG. 2. She complains about how I have to wear braces, and the reason I can't get them of is my teeth are slow so my 12 year old molars have grown in, If a had them, my braces would be off. I don't control my teeth! It's not my fault! And when she complains about how much money they cost, I see her online everyday buying a Prada or Coach bags or shoes everyday! I know I'm lucky because they buy me lots of stuff, and we are lucky because we have a lot of money, but it seems like they can use it as an excuse for being so strict about everything else. I go to the best school in my area (It's a small private school for gifted children) and they still complain about how I'm stupid and will never get into college. Why is life so unfair for some people? Here's my story: My boyfriend had a terrible accident when he was 7 years old and that accident left him a cripple on his right leg. For 12 years now he has been using a crutch, and he has had to make ends meet through begging(when he was a child) and other low jobs (He is not in Canada or US). When we were 13, we met and ever since we've been "together" expect I am in Canada and he is 8000 miles away. I just saw this girl I've had a crush on for while for the first time in about a year. She lives in Canada. She was BEAUTIFUL, and I just fell in love with her right away. Then, to make matters worse, we had this big long talk alone. This is the first time I've ever made a connection like that with her. You see, I've known her since I was born. I have a little sister, and she has a little brother, so I would always hang out with the brother, and she would always hang out with my sister, or we would all do things together, but I never had like an hour alone with her. We talked like best friends about school and summer vacation. She was a little tanner than usual, and dressed amazingly cute. Lucky for me I don't drool lol. Now, I am horribly love sick. I am bored with just about everything, except music, food, and her facebook page, and I don't know what to do! I know I won't see her again for awhile, and I need to I miss her so much. I can't take my mind off her! She is everything I've ever wanted in a girl, and I don't know what to do with myself when she's not around. How can I cure this, what would you do? We live in Florida and want to take a vacation probably next summer to Banff, Alberta Canada.. I was wondering where we should fly into? Calgary- and just rent a vehicle & do the lovely drive to Banff? Should we visit Jasper too while we're there? Or should we maybe fly somewhere in the US close to the Canadian border & drive to Banff? Maybe that would be cheaper than an International flight? Voting Question: I really need help, tenant problems!?

Well its kind of a long story so hang on. So the house my dad owns the first floor people are creating a lot of problems. First of all its been 6 months since they've paid the rent. And we have took them too court many times and each time all the judge basically says is that they cant pay the money so what are they suppose to do. And then just gives teh rent people a notice to leave the house. But they havent left yet. Apparently theyre on vacation right now. They keep making the excuse that they dont have the money to pay us and they cant find a place to move to but its been 6 months how can they still not have the money and still have not found a place. Isnt their suppose to be some kind of law to make them leave if they cant pay the rent or something.. because its really not fair to my dad. He can barely keep up with the mortgage for that house. And soon the banks going to take our house if we dont pay the mortgage. But my dads been working like a dog. hes been going to work at like 8 or 9 and comes back at like 3 or 4 in the morning. He's a taxi driver. and My moms been working many extra hours and hasnt tooken one day off this year. She's a dentist assisntant. And our lawyer is apparently telling us to bribe them by giving them a few thousand dollars to atleast leave the house. But i dont know if my dads going to do that. The whole six months all my dads been trying to do is just be nice to them that they just ATLEAST leave teh house but htey wont no matter what. And this monday my family and my cousins were suppose to go to six flags to enjoy and have some fun and hten go to canada for a few days but we cant any more since my parents have to work to pay the mortgage now. theyre ruining my whole summer. So now since you've read my story my question is that is there something more we can do about it or is their like a law that can get them immediately out of the house? Something just something to help me out. My parents invited htem to all our parties and we went ot all their parties and everything and never started an argument with them. Because my dad kind of has a temper problem and knows that one little mistake and he'd probably brake the guys face but then he'd get sued and stuff so he knows not to cross the limit.My Take On It, well now my mom told me more of the story and told me that they didnt get an eviction notice yet or eviction lawyer because one of my dads friends a few years ago had the same probelm except worse. His tenants werent paying hte rent either and so he waited till the 7th month to call an eviction lawyer and hten he told his lawyer he wants to give them a 30 day notice to leave and if htey dont hes going to call hte police and the police is going to escort them out. BUt the whole entire eviction process took like 1 year and they finally left the house but they scratched up the floors broke the doors the toilets, the sinks and even smashed up some of the windows before leaving and so my dads friend told my dad not to get an eviction lawyer unless its like very nesseccary because he didnt get rent from them for 1 year and 7 months. So theyre suppose to hopefully come tomorrow to talk to my dad and i guess then my dads going to decide wether to call an eviction lawyer or not. more

ok i live in canada and im doing college here right now. my year starts in september and finishes in april and in the summer i was supposed to go back to my home country to spend time with my boyfriend (soon to be fiancee) because he lives there and my dad told me he doesnt want me to go alone so hes coming with me but he can only stay 2 weeks because thats all he has for vacation pay.
