So my Indian friend (who is from northern India) wants to take me and three others to his country for a visit this coming summer vacation. So the group consists of one Hispanic, two Asians (including my friend who is from India) and a Black guy (me). I am a little worried because according to what I have heard, there is a negative view towards Black people in general in India and I have heard that most Indian people only admire Whites as foreigners and hate everyone else. In terms of skin color, I am not really "Black", I am kind of tan but I do have Black features (fade hair). It is really kind of my friend to take me to India but I am not sure if I want to go to a country where most people will spit at me and look down on me because of my race. Well, personally I am growing to "hate" my "best friend" You see, I think he is the most rude, most ignorant arrogant person I've ever met. I knew him since like 5th grade and the summer of 08 he got a g/f and we haven't hung out to often, anyway.. When he got his permit he drove to my house and kept doing that until he got his license. When he got that (only time he came to my house in a year) he came to my door saying he got it.. I'm like "OKAY" a simple text would have been enough.. I have been married for the past 9 years and we have an 8 year old daughter. We are from india but lives in Denmark now. I and my wife do not go well together. She is very bossy, very arrogant; often have nasty arguments and verbal fights me in front of my daughter or even in the street or in the public. I have never seen a woman with so much pride and selfishness in my life. When she becomes really angry she even throw things in the room, shout very loud without even considering the neighbors. In the beginning I tried to adjust with her hoping that things are going to get better. But there was no change in her behavior. In fact it got more worst over the years. She just wants everything in her own way. Just for an example to show her attitude and behavior I am writing the following that happened recently. I want to visit my parents and friend in India every year. My wife doesn't want to come to india and visit her parents or relatives. Every time when I talk about going to india for a vacation she always find so many excuses. This year summer finally she agreed to go to india for exactly 30 days. I went to book the tickets to india. I get a cheaper ticket, if I am ready to travel on monday evening. But she was not ready to travel on that particular day, because if we travel on that day the total days of holiday becomes 31 days compared to her agreed 30 days vacation. She was not at all ready to travel on that monday. In the end I had to buy expensive tickets for the three of us. Even though she is working, she was not ready to pay for her ticket though. This kind of behavior, I cannot tolerate. I don't want to talk to her anymore because always it ends in arguments and fights. I don’t want my daughter to see all these. I just want to give my daughter all my love and care. We live in the same house but in different rooms for the past more than 6 years. I just live with her just because of my daughter. My daughter loves both of us. But often I think for going for a divorce. But when I think about my daughter, I think I will wait for some more years. My wife also loves our daughter very much, that I know. Emotionally I don't have anybody to share all my feelings. I haven't told about these to any of my friends so far. They all think we have a good family. Recently I met a woman at work, who is almost two years older than me. She is Danish and single. She looks is very calm, very pleasant, doesn't have any show-off kind of nature, works very hard, no gossiping, etc. We take the bus to work from the same place and that way we started talking each other almost every day. At first it was casual talking between us and then after a while we started talking about our personal stuff and feelings, etc. First I started liking this girl and now I think I started loving her. I love to talk to her and see her whenever it is possible. I think she also likes me. Until I met this woman, I thought I will never have another girl in life. It was not because I don’t like to have somebody to love, but just after thinking about my daughter. But now I am in a situation where I am on the verge of falling in love with this Danish woman. I have never shown any indication about this to her so far. I am confused now. At one side I have my daughter; a wife with whom I can’t adjust with or love anymore; me and wife are not separated officially even though we live like separated; now this new woman with whom I afraid I fall in love. I am really sad, depressed and confused now. Am I crossing the lines here? Am I really cheating since I am not officially separated from my wife? Please give me your opinions. Voting Question: My Father Is INSANE! Help! He never talks to me or my mom!?

it all started when we were all happy as a family coming back from somewhere as we were on the ferry. When we were in the car driving back home then he started not to talk to my mom and not form any communication as he sounded very pissed off for no reason. From then on he started to stay away from my mom and not talk to her at all. He still lived in the house though and did the work around the house he had to do. He was fired from his job a year before this and I don't think he did anything bad in the job. Anyways then later on he started to live in the vacant apartment downstairs in our house. He soon locked the door with nails with a hammer so we couldn't come in to talk to him. He started to avoid my mom and not talk to her anymore. He lived downstairs and came upstairs usually to get the food to eat. When my mom left the house he just came upstairs and talked to me alot in a very good manner. He wasn't a very hardcore father. When I was younger he took me to alot of places outdoor and taught me alot of stuff. Those times were when I was around from one to 11 years old. Back to the story. Now later on he started to not ever drive his car again. He never took me anywhere. In Grade 8 he was supposed to pick me up afterschool and I had to wait for 2 hours until someone came to pick me up because he didn't come and pick me up. I'm going into grade 10 now and through Grade 9 - This Summer I've started to treated my dad like shit and been really mad at the way he treats my mom. He never talks to her and always lives and sleeps downstairs. He's made her cry alot when she tried to go outside his door downstairs (its locked) and confront him to stop this and let us be a family again. He only talked to me. I still treated him bad because he really made me mad for what he did to me and what a bad father he was being to me. On my mom's side of the family when my mom went to India last month for vacation she parked her car in my grandparents house (in canada). My dad didn't approve of this. Even though he never drove for alot of years he went to my grandparents house and just exchanged my truck for that car and drove it back here. It was because my dad didn't want my cousin who have the ride because he found that my cousin wasn't trusted or something. Note that my cousin is a very good man being 26 and not a bad person at all. Now I go to the airport last week to pick up my grandparents because they came back from somewhere and then my and my mom go to my grandparents house to have a nice hang out with my cousins and my grandparents. (Obviously we don't ask my dad to come because he never talks to my mom and hasn't for the past 2 years). So now we come back home after the little family party at my grandparents house and we see that my dad trashed the entire place for no reason. He threw the chairs down in the living and dining room. He threw some pillows down too. I was scared. Next day he doesen't talk to me at all when my mom leaves the house to go to my grandparents. He just comes upstairs to get the syrup and runs back downstairs from me when I try to talk to him. He has a mean face always now. he acts the same way now that he treats my mom. He treats me the same now. He's always quiet to my mom. I'm sad. Please help me. I don't know what to do. I actually want my dad to be at my graduation and wedding. I want a real dad. Please help. more

help plzz.... plzz have patience reading this.. i realii need help about this i really love this guy.. and he is sort of ma really good friend and he lives in India... even im an Indian but i moved to Alaska.. this summer break(June 14) i went to India for my vacation and i spend most of the time helping my cousin who lives with me meet up with her b.f in india ..(coz u know in india parents realli don't allow their daughter to go for date or love some one, they don't even let us go shopping alone) and my cousins b.f's best friend also help them.. so every time they went out me and that guy also had time together... he bunked his college aloot of time just to accompany me... im a little shy to talk to guys but im comfortable wid him and he is really deep.. we really had amazing time together.. so wen i had to come back after a very short 1 month that day night he stayed awake for me till 3'o clock and just talked to me till ma parents woke up for gettin ready... telling that he would miss me more than i think he would... and he wish i had stayed a bit more longer... and i really love him more than anything in this world... even if he is not going to love me i would love him the same way i am doing rite now! i am starting to feel bad because when i was in new york, my cousin asked me about my vacation time and i was honest nad told him i had a month and a half off for Christmas and 2 months off for summer vacation and asked me why I dont come to India..Since then, he has been persuading me to visit India..Later that year, my sister went to India for her job, but I couldnt go..When my cousin met my sister, he called me and I told him I got busy then his reply was, 'omg! everyone is busy." Now, I am starting to feel bad..Last year, my cousin, his wife, and 2 boys came to visit me in the USA for a week..At that time, my cousin was working as the VP of Citifinancial..His company was going through a tough financial loss and he still managed to take a month off..He flew to New York for three weeks then came to California then flew back directly to India from LAX. My mom's sister and brother-in-law came a month after and they stayed for a month. This year, my mom's brother is visiting the USA for three months and he came to visit me for three weeks. Its really hard to be myself..The economy is bad. I am going to Europe for two weeks end of July..A lot of my classes at my college have been cut etc..My mom's job laid off 12/18 employees from her company..I am facing a hardship in going to India..Why doesnt everyone else..Why is it only me..My cousin in India is getting married in December..My mom's brother told me about it because he helped my cousin look for a girl and arranged the date..So far, I havent received an invitation or a phone call, and I havent been to India for a family wedding. when i went to new york in 2007, my cousin from india asked me about my vacation time..i was honest and told him i have a month and a half off for Christmas Vacation and 2 months off for summer vacation then out of nowhere he started persuading me to visit india..he asked me a numerous number of times..the day before he went back to india, he said the best time to visit india is in december..later in november of that year, my sister went to india. my cousin asked me to send him her contact info..when i did that, he replied "hope you guys are able to come with her. cheeeerrrrrsssss" . i never replied saying i was or i wasnt coming..the day my sister went arrived in india, my cousin called me and said "we thought we'd be seeing you as well, then i told him i got busy then his reply was "omg! everyone is busy. then said we'll see when you have vacation." in june 2008, he came to visit me with his wife and 2 kids for a week. the very first thing he asked me was what i am doing that i am busy all the time..i told him and he was able to tell i was making excuses..after they went back to india, i made it up to him by remembering him for some occassions..when i wrote to him for diwali, he replied, "thanks for remembering us. cheeerrs" then he called me. this year, i couldnt call them but i was remembering them so i sent him a few emails..my mom's brother came to visit me for three weeks..the week my uncle was here, my cousin was in germany..my cousin called me only for an update on his papa..i have a feeling that since i didnt call my cousin this year, he no longer wishes to talk to me and now he is pretending to be busy..can someone send me their honest opinion..to tell you the truth, my mom doesnt allow me to call her brother because they dont call us..am i really being selfish..when i have vacation, the only thing i do is visit my dad in sfo which i feel uncomfortable..he has two roommates and when i go there, i have to share the bathroom with two guys..my mom did say she cant send me to my dad's like that..since the economy is down, 55% of my classes at my college have been cut and they're raising tution this year..i cant seem to find a job..my mom is at risk of losing her job and she made plans to go to europe this year..what can i do..can someone provide me with some advice..my mom is mad at me because i cant find a job..i submitted my resume to at least 200 places and had only 1 interview and was told i would know by the end of the week..my mom says submitting my resume isnt enough..what am i doing wrong..i wanted to work after my vacation started but i knew i wouldnt be able to do because of my mom's brother visiting..it would be hard to work for a week then ask for some time off..which is why i couldnt work..please help methese days my life is depressing..none of my friends answer or return my calls..everyone is into their families these days.. more

I have just completed my 1st year at IIT-Kgp, I am doing Btech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. I want to fully utilize my summer vacations and as a value addition, I want to learn Java Programming(I have already done C in college) I have been over some forums that suggest that I should not fall for big names like APTECH or NIIT and probably join some good local institute or maybe learn java on my own. I have come up with these institutes in Delhi, India( this is where I live) Aptech NIIT VServeGlobal Ducat does anyone have an idea which one should i go for, for a 1-1.5 month summer training course. I used to meet him twice a month and spend two months every summer with him, and to me he was the greatest man alive. But I didn't really know the truth about him. He cheated many people of money, ran from the law and spent most of his time with women. He bought a lot of things for my sister and I but as I grew older I noticed he never went to work. This became prominent especially when we spent our vacations with him. It turns out he hasn't been working for quite a while now. Most of what he bought for us was with money from other people. He was arrested twice, once when i was about two or three years old (1997-98) and when i was in the fifth grade (in may, 2005). I didn't know about his arrest both times. He also took money from the stocks and bonds that his mother had (his father had given them to her, and they were actually hers) but she was unwell and couldn't stop him. He was constantly on the run. His name was Ananthakrishnan Gopalakrishnan ( A. Gopalakrishnan, or Gopal), born 14/12/1960, height 5 11', fair complexioned with freckles and big physique. He died August 3rd, 2008 of liver problems. He was born and brought up in Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu. His mother was from Coorg and his father from Kerala. He owned a company called Hydra Impex a few years ago. He is well-travelled and has been all over India. Does anyone know anything about him? Have any one of you ever met him, been cheated by him?
