Hi Danielle, how are you? I hope well. I'm enjoying my last day of vacation, school starts again the monday :( But at least it's my last year! I tell you that in December I went on holiday to Sierras de Córdoba, was very nice.We visited many places and also visited my uncle, Guillermo. A few days ago came to visit Guillermo and Luca, and spent a few days at my house, they send many greetings and hope to see you soon. I wish I could go and visit again, but the processing of the passport is quite long and tiring. You should come to visit Argentina, here are many interesting places to see and you'll like. Here it is summer, but in the south there is snow even in summer, so we can go skiing at Cerro Catedral and Cerro Otto, would be fun :) And if not, can come in July (in July are winter holidays) Well, I hope everyone is well. I send many greetings from me and from my dad, my mum, from Antonella, Verónica, Carolina, and Bruno. Greetings! moreVoting Question: Where are all the pools in South Dakota?

Going on vacation soon, Spring Break. Were going to South Carolina to my uncle rons, as we do every spring & summer. I'm thinking of spending our family vacation in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and was wondering what time of year the last few hurricanes had hit there. When did Hanna hit, etc? We were thinking about the time right around Memorial Day Weekend and the week coming after. We don't want to risk our one big vacation time for the year getting ruined by a hurricane. I read on the internet that the season for hurricanes starts that time of year but how often does it really happen or do they mostly happen later in the summer? I know that September is a hot month for them but, still want to be sure. Also, curious to know if that is a really busy time of year for that area. I don't mind busy but if it is ridiculously busy, not sure if I will try that with 3 kids under 8 years old. moreResolved Question: Traveling around Spain for 3 months: suggestions for a GENERAL (regional) itinerary?
Hi, I will be traveling around Spain for about three months (May 12 to August 12). My plan is to travel slowly, exploring a particular region before moving on to the next (I don't want to jump around due to travel costs) with the idea of seeing as many places as possible. But I'm not sure where to start and the best way to make my way around the country taking in consideration both the weather and perhaps local events such as festivals for each region. As a very rough itinerary, which I can make more specific later, my thought is to start in Barcelona on May 12, move south along the coast, explore Andalusia, then the central region, the northwest, and finally Basque country and the northeast before returning to Barcelona. This way I would explore southern and central regions first before it gets too hot (or too deserted due to the vacationing population) and save the cooler north for the hottest period of the summer. I plan to consult a guidebook about specifics, but I'm wondering what you think might be a good GENERAL (regional) itinerary for this time period. Thanks in advance. moreResolved Question: Where to go for my summer holiday?
I've saved quite a bit of money in my bank, and leave college later this year in June, and am planning on celebrating by going on vacation. I planned on South Africa, however I know it'll be winter over there by the time I go, so what I'd like to ask you guys is where could an 18 year old go on holiday in summer, possibly taking her parents, where I could see some really amazing sights? Preferably more out of the way places, like tropical/rainforest/beach rather than Las Vegas or something. moreResolved Question: San Francisco weather in the Summer--around June-July?
We are South Floridians and are used to nuclear hot temperatures. We would like a little break from the heat during our Summer vacation this year to San Francisco. What kind of weather should we expect? What weather annoyances should we expect? Thanks! moreVoting Question: Vacation ideas for a mother and daughter?
My mom and I tend to take yearly vacations over the summer. This year we are not sure where we should go. We have visited Hawaii, sailed around Britain, hiked in Colorado, visited Savannah, Georgia; Charleston, South Carolina; toured the Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina; gambled in Branson, Missouri; and toured California a few times (most recently from San Francisco to LA). My mother is 60 and can no longer walk for long periods of time. We are thinking about New York, Prince Edward Island, or a cruise to Alaska. Does anyone have any other ideas?I would like the suggestions to go to Florida, but we both live in Fl. She has an annual pass to Epcot and I basically grew up at Disney and Universal. moreResolved Question: Is Hilton Head, South Carolina a nice place to go on vacation?
My family and I were thinking about visiting Hilton Head, South Carolina this summer, in July for a week. How are the beaches/the shade of the water? Is there a lively night life? What's there to do for fun during the day? Any other information would be appreciated! Thanks!! moreResolved Question: Can anyone give me information or advice on the Charleston/Mount Pleasant area?
I'm a college student living in Virginia currently. I've lived in my town since I was born, and while it has been a nice place to grow up, I'm ready to move somewhere else. I dislike many things about my town - the weather, the people, the job opportunities, and the cost of living.. I love the state of South Carolina and I always have. I go there every summer on vacation and I feel so at home while I'm there. I feel like I would be so much happier if I were to move to the Charleston/Mount Pleasant area in SC. I've done a lot of research and it seems to be the type of place that I want to live in. I plan to attend the College of Charleston and since I currently work at a Hampton Inn, I'm planning on transferring to one of the Hamptons in that area (there's plenty). The move won't be happening until the fall, like in August or September most likely. My question is, can anyone who is originally from that area or who lives there currently give me some tips, advice, local information, anything? I'm just hoping to reinforce my decision to move, because it is a scary aspect to consider! Any help or tips would be much appreciated. Thank you! :) moreResolved Question: My wife has fled to South Africa with my two sons and she is keeping them from having any contact with me?
We were officially from Tanzania but we have been living in the USA for almost 10 years now. as the years have progressed we did not have a good steady relationship between ourselves, with her accusing me of things, lying and our arguments and so on. we could not stay together like this. One year ago, she left out of the usa with my sons ages 12 and 15 years old. I have tried to make deal with her as I wanted to keep my oldest son with me and she take our youngest, so we can split the kids. She disagreed and stated that she wanted to take both of them and that our sons should not be split apart from each other but that they will come back to visit me during their summer and winter vacations. it has been a year already that she has been gone, we both agreed that I would still be able to stay in contact with my sons by phone or mail, but I have not been able to speak to my sons for 7 months now. during the first few months they were gone everything was going fine and i was speaking to my sons. We had agreed that I would get the boys in june through august and december through january. When I called in june and I spoke to my oldest son and he told me that he and his brother were excited and they could not wait to see me again, as they were supposed to come back to me in June that month. I told him to speak to their mother about it and remind her so that she can be aware that it was june already and that they should be coming back to me in a few weeks from there. Everysince then I have not heard from any of them. We are a family as I am still married to her. I feel she is not wanting me to see them or have any contact with them, so she isin't allowing them to speak to me. My sons and I are very close and they would usually be calling me very often atleast few times out of the week every week, so I know they would not just discontinue speaking to me all of a sudden. I know my wife is the reason because this, she did not want to be family with me, now she is taking my sons away from me. I refuse to let her block contact away from my sons, and I know that is just what she is trying to do. I have been trying to reach her and there has been no answer. I am now starting to think that she is not even in south africa anymore, or that she wasnt there in the first place and it could have been a lie. Even though she and I are not together anymore, I should still have a right to beable see my sons am I right? Legally here in the US we are still married, and I do know that parents can go to court over the children, but only problem is she is not in the states, so I would not know what to do I do know one thing, if I am able to find contact with her again... I am comming for my sons reguardless of what she has to say and I am taking both of them back. I am feeling stress because 7 months and no contact with them, I want to know what happened to my sons and where they are at.I have tried calling around to family so they can let me know if they have heard from them. I find it suspicious that her sister just said she spoke to her last month, when I have been trying to reach her for 7 months. moreVoting Question: favorite vacations places? and why? also asking about south korea?

I would love to go somewhere with good culture When I was small my father was in the army so I lived in South Korea for a few years and I really wanna go back maybe a small town there? idk what do you think? and where would you go? moreResolved Question: Where can a 3.9 GPA from a tier 3 school take me if I want to transfer?
I attend a tier 3 university to save the burden on my parents for the first two years, currently I am on a scholarship where I do not have to pay tuition or anything much. I have a 3.9 GPA at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia. I am currently a sophomore here and I want to transfer to a better school for my final two years, do not preach to me about how much the money will be because my parents will be paying for my final two years of college. I want to compete on a higher level, SAT score was a 2290 in high school when I took it and my high school GPA was a 3.6 when I graduated and a 3.2 when I was applying for colleges (went to an academically challenging high school and faced a lot of adversity in life). My parents are moving to the Northeast this summer vacation (talked to them recently). I am glad that they are because I want to go back up there, I love the northern lifestyle and the south is just not for me. I want to go back up North and spend my final two college years, grad school years and the rest of my years up there. It feels good to be finally going back up there, I was forced to stay down south for my high school years and life wasn't so good down here, but anyways I want advice. Can you guys name me some colleges I should look to as a transfer student? Name me 2 reaches, 3 matches and 2 safeties if you can. I am looking for universities in the northeast region specifically.Neniaf: I want a school with a good rep, here are some schools I was considering UConn UPenn Cornell Yale Brown Dartmouth MIT (heard it accepts transfers) NYU Boston University Penn State (main campus) Ohio State (main campus) Syracuse that has been my list so far, I need like 2 reaches and I am thinking about Yale and UPenn to take those spots moreResolved Question: Where should I go for my high school trip?
My mom has decided that she will pay for me to go on a trip either my junior or senior year of high school because she allowed my sister to do that when she was in high school. I need advice on whether to go to South Africa or a European trip. I feel so blessed to go to either. So, the European trip is a school run trip that I would go on the summer before senior year. One of my best friends and her family plus our American History teacher is going. We spend a little less than two weeks in London, France, and Italy. We will tour cities and countryside and go to many famous places. This is covered in $3,000+ including the hotel rooms and food. My sister went on this trip and enjoyed it, but she seems to be trying to convince me to go to Africa, not Europe. I think the culture will be impressive and I actually may remember something from my AP Euro History course last year. The South Afirca trip is a business trip for my mother to Durban ; so she will be in conferences a lot of the time and I am not allowed to run about South Africa on my own without her. I would go on this trip the summer after senior year. I really want to see the animals of Africa and the culture because I want to have a career involving Anthropology or Zoology; so I think it would be a good experience. I fear that the city may be to touristy and built up though. Also, my mother hinted that her new boyfriend may be coming with us; he is nice, but he is around us way too much and has become annoying. I don't know if my opinion of him will change in a year, but right now the idea of spending my vacation in Africa with him makes me want to jump on the plane to Europe. I really want to pick the right place because I don't think I will be able to experience other cultures than the U.S. for a long time once I have to pay for everything myself, and I want to make the most of this gift. Please tell me which you think would be the best trip and why. :) moreVoting Question: Legal custody question about vacation breaks?
Our stipulation states "children shall reside fully with father during the summer and winter breaks." I was living in South Carolina when this stipulation was signed and accepted by the courts. Mother has children on Xmas odd years and father has Xmas eve on odd years and then rotates the following year. This is the first year we have done this so I would like to know if I am within my rights to fly the children here the whole winter break. She says I have to fly them back for Xmas day but the order does not state that nor does it state in which State I have to be during this holiday. I told her she can be here and have the boys that day. The primary order also states both parents need to agree for children to fly out of the state and this is the reason she is using as to why they are not able to come here until after Xmas. The stipulation states children reside fully with father during summer and winter breaks and that mother and father shall split costs for transportation between California and South Carolina for summer only (stipulation actually reads both states). Father shall be responsible for all other transportation costs outside of summer vacation. Do I really need her permission to fly the boys here if the order states they will reside with me during those breaks and it states that I am in South Carolina? Winter break starts on December 18th and I am at my wits end to do something. I don't have enough time to file anything with the courts so what do I do?I am getting married next year in July and she just recently found out.Mother has children Thanksgiving (even years), Christmas eve (even years), Christmas (odd years). My ex and i have a 7 yrs old son.I live in south jersey and she lives in ny.since we formally separated we signed an agreement that i will take my son every other weekend, school days off and stays with me every summer vacation plus the amount of the support. for almost 3 yrs i been doing what we agree on with no problem and complaints from her until lately.a month ago she told me that i should take my son every weekend so that she can have time for herself and give her money every week instead, in which i disagree, and this is the reason why she taking me to court.now she wants the full custody of the kid that i cannot take him anymore and i can only visit him.the reason why i cannot take my kid every weekend is because i have work on weekends and its going to be difficult for me to travel back and forth to ny every weekend.besides the traveling the fare is gonna cost me at east 400 dollars a month.i wanted to see my son all the time but my situation is making it hard for me to do it.can they grant her the custody base on disagreeing to her demands?i just want a joint custody to at least be with my kid every other weekend. moreVoting Question: Summer jobs with perks.?
I'm a college student and need to find something to do next summer. I was a housekeeping supervisor and occasional concierge at a hotel at Cedar Point last summer, and that was pretty awesome. But now I'd like to go somewhere else. I've been toying with summer jobs in Alaska, South Florida (Naples), Seattle, Boston, California, and Germany (I'm a German major and have relatives in the Heidelberg area). Although I would love just to go to Europe and work on my speaking abilities, I want something in return. Do you know of any summer jobs that offer amazing perks? June 6 (Bloomberg) -- Who knew I would ever have anything in common with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? It turns out we're *like*this* when it comes to wine, because we're all fans of Chateau Miraval. That's the extraordinarily beautiful and secluded wine estate in Provence that they have just rented for three years. Lucky them -- and I can vouch for it. I spent a couple of nights there nine years ago while tasting my way through the region and can report that the world's most famous couple will have more than decent wines to sip when in residence. Miraval now produces three fish-friendly dry whites, two savory reds, a delicious dry rose and a luscious sweet wine, L'Or de Miraval. Tile roofs, sky-blue shutters, warm creamy stone, plashing fountains, 13 varieties of olive trees on a steep terraced hillside, 75 acres of vineyards -- Miraval is everyone's secret dream of a home in the south of France. From my room in the 14th- century part of the chateau, the view stretched over a wide green lawn to rows of vines. A deep, claw-footed tub by one window offered the same vista while I was lolling in the bath, a glass of refreshing rose in hand. (I take my research seriously.) After breakfast, on a terrace under a pergola, I sampled the estate's wines in a light-filled room off the country kitchen and later dined with neighboring producers in the long medieval hall with immense fireplace. I also took a peek at the recording studio on the property (Sting once used it; the Stones left after one night -- not enough local action). The estate even has a tiny private chapel, whose dark blue painted ceiling is dotted with white stars. `Out of the Sky' For the past two months, the French press reported Brad and Angelina crisscrossing France in a helicopter, hunting for a private spot to escape hordes of paparazzi. Tom Bove, whose family owns the property, told me last week ``they dropped out of the sky.'' ``They're personally very nice,'' he said in the telephone interview. ``Brad is from the Midwest, as I am.'' (Hey, me too!) Bove, 65, is an Indiana-born businessman (Rochem Group) who fell in love with Miraval in 1992 when he and his first wife, Jane, were looking for a vacation home. He persuaded his family to purchase the 1,000-acre estate, where wine had been made for centuries. His wife took charge of the vineyards, and they set about vastly improving the wines' quality. Tragically, she died in a 1998 plane crash. Miraval Team The winery and vineyard will continue to be run by the Miraval team, Bove assures me. The Pitt-Jolie household, including four kids plus expected twins (who may or may not already have arrived when you read this), won't have to worry about toxic chemical sprays on the grapes since the vineyards are certified organic. And the nearby hamlet of Correns is the first ``bio'' (organic) village in France, meaning veggies, honey and chickens all carry the label. Besides celebs and St.-Tropez, Provence is, of course, noted for its gulpable rose wines. When Brad and Angelina first visited, they tried the savory, salmon-colored 2007 Chateau Miraval Cotes de Provence Rose ($16) with lunch. ``It's the first vintage to be labeled ``Pink Floyd,'' Bove says. (English rock band Pink Floyd recorded part of their iconic album ``The Wall'' at Studio Miraval.) Made from cinsault and grenache grapes, it's my idea of summer in a glass. ``And they took away a bottle of our top red, Cuvee Natouchka,'' Rove adds. The 100 percent syrah ($35) is made only in the best years. Their more widely available Cotes de Provence Rouge ($22) is a spicy, earthy-fruity syrah-cabernet blend. Zingy Whites Miraval's three whites are all made from the local rolle grape. The 2005 Coteaux Varois en Provence Blanc ($16) is zingy and assertive, with a hint of almond, perfect with grilled fish. Two more expensive barrel-aged cuvees, made in tiny quantities, are harder to come by. Naturally, the Brangelina buzz has already spurred sales. ``We've been inundated with calls from retailers,'' says Andrew Hirko, chief financial officer at the chateau's East Coast importer, Monarchia Matt International. ``We're sold out of the rose, and the red and white are nearly gone.'' The 2007 Pink Floyd will be on retail shelves soon. One of their biggest markets? Another celebrity haven, the Hamptons. ``I don't know how much time Brad and Angelina will be able to spend here,'' Bove says. ``But they liked Miraval's wines. I hope they'll drink them and serve them to their friends. Hey -- they can have as much as they want.'' (Elin McCoy writes on wine and spirits for Bloomberg News. The opinions expressed are her own.) figure out how to make it any shorter!!! It’s a fact that life without air conditioner would be extremely different from what it is now. Air conditioning has improved our economy, society, and culture, and has changed the way Americans live, walk, and play. Despite the many positive outcomes, Americans have definitely become to reliant on it. Willis Havilland Carrier created air conditioning in 1902 while working at a printing house. The irregularities in the humidity and temperature made the inks misalign. Carrier’s invention lowered the humidity and also held it at a constant level. Air conditioning lowered the humidity of air by “balancing the temperature of the coils, through which cold air passed, with the rate of flow to reach the desired dew-point level”(Willis Carrier, par.4). 20th century social scientists theorized that “hot weather slowed civilization down, made people lazy, and created generations of slow-witted people, justifying slavery and imperialism” (Robbins, Susanna, pg. 2). When first invented, air conditioning was only used in factories for industrial uses and did nothing to improve the comfort of the poor factory workers. As time went on, advertisement began focusing on middle class citizens and rather than being considered an industrial product, it became a social status shaper. At the time, elite, upper class Americans shunned air conditioning and claimed that they were above admitting any discomfort. That perspective of air conditioning is now gone, and over 75% of American homes have air conditioning. Social rituals to deal with summer weather such as sitting with family on porches, and summer vacations became less common. This impact is negative because families began spending less time with each other. Before air conditioning was used for comfort purposes, it was used mainly in America’s industry. Air conditioning wasn’t limited to only printing plants. Tobacco factories and textile mills also used it to improve their products. It also increased productivity in factories and other work places. Studies showed that a cooler temperature and lower humidity lead to an increase in productivity. In fact, “one 1938 study found a 51% increase in productivity during the summer months”. (The coolest America of the century, pg. 2). Not only did factories gain productivity, but places like movie theaters, restaurants, and stores gained a lot more business because customers came in to escape the heat. This impact on America’s economy is definitely positive. Without all the productivity and business gains, our economy wouldn’t have become as strong as it is now. One of the most noticeable impacts air conditioning has had on America is its culture, or more specifically, its architecture. Older homes had porches and verandas. This was where families gathered on hot evenings to escape the heat. These homes use to have thick walls, eaves, attics, breezeways, and cross ventilation; all different methods used to keep houses cool. Once air conditioning became common in houses, those methods were replaced with centrally cooled suburban houses. This impact is negative because the south lost a lot of its unique architecture. Finally, air conditioning definitely has changed the way Americans live, work, and play. Now enclosed spaces are comfortable enough to work in, maximizing productivity and space. AC is also now used for preservation. It was used while preserving the Sistine Chapel in Rome and to preserve a 500-year-old frozen Incan mummy. Air conditioning also led to the invention of the centrifugal chiller. This invention was used to cool large public areas, and used refrigerant fluid instead of ammonia. Out of all other American innovations, air conditioning might have had the greatest impact, changing American society, culture, as well as its economy. Americans have obviously become too dependent on, as they miss it when its not there. Americans now have become accustomed to being comfortable, so now, instead of going outside to enjoy the outside where they would miss the cool AC air, they would rather stay in the comfort of their air conditioned home. moreResolved Question: Why don't more Canadians live on the ocean beaches?
Canada is great as it is, but I notice one thing missing. Canada could have at least one city along the lines of "Monte Carlo on the French Riviera with 24-hour nightlife and the surf and sand. Or like South Beach, Miami, Florida or Fort Lauderdale (South Florida) where tropical beaches with latin salsa music and delicious cuisines all along an ocean strip with jacuzis and hotel lounges. You could put more of that in Canada in summer when beach weather permits. Or like Los Angeles sunset strip or Hollywood Boulevard. Don't Canadians like to vacation to these beach cities every so often? I don't want the Maritimes to become like that though because it has a unique flavour of its own, a more intimate traditional flavour. But depending on the mood, you may want the night-life techno DJ club cafe party-all-night type of beach town, and Canada doesn't seem to have that. Canada could make a city more like Miami Beach and use gas lamps to warm the air and make this beach paradise off the East Coast of Nunavut. Why not? And then have casino cruises to Hans Island. Why don't Canadians want to live on the beach sometimes and make castles in the sand and surf the waves of the ocean?I guess Canada could have a sister city to one of these: 1) Honolulu, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Cancun, Rio De Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Monte Carlo, San Remo, Barcelona, Bangkok, Beirut, Tel AvivAnd you could eat maple creams on the beach and mix it with rum and tequillaEdit: But Vancouver is not a Canadian city, it's the Westernmost part of China. But of all of China, my favourite Chinese city is Vancouver, Ex-British Columbia. This may be the first time in history that Chinese cities got to host back-to-back Olympics. Beijing, now VancouverI actually do like the Canadian beaches for their uniqueness, and I was joking about Vancouver being China moreResolved Question: Is this right way to say this?

Alrighty, I know this can be a touchy subject but what is everyones feelings on the Confederate flag? I am from Chicago and while on vacation in Alabama this summer and on my way down there I saw Confederate flags all over and signs like "The South Will Rise Again!". Now maybe its because I am from "up North" and don't understand that, but it is really offensive to me, and I am white. To me the Confederate flag represents racism and I would feel exactly the same if I saw a Nazi flag waving in the sky. What is everyone else's feelings n this? moreResolved Question: What would be a super cheap, low key place to take my bf during spring break '10 in the U.S.?
This is going to sound crazy, lol, but I just won $2500 on a lottery ticket. No shit. I've been dreaming for the last 2 years to bring my bf to the states. He lives in Uganda (we met during an internship I had where he works 2 summers ago). I didn't think I'd be able to bring him here until after I graduated college and the whole shebang. I've already got this year and next year paid for through scholarships (I also found out I won another $1500 scholarship today!!) and so I'm thinking to hell with it, I'm only going to live once...and this is something I've always dreamed of being able to do. All of that said, I go to school in south-central Colorado and I would fly him in to New York. I check all of the time on flight prices and, after accounting for roundrtip airfare, visa fees, getting him to the embassy and airport, and all of that, I'd have about $500 left over (super low estimate). I make $500/month while in college and could easily save another $1500 towards the trip, for a total of $2000 to pay for airfare for me wherever we'd go, busfare for him to get to where we go (I'd fly him in a few days early), hotel, expenses, and food. Thoughts on where we ought to go? I'm cool with sleeping at a Motel 6 and the fanciest restaurant in town being Red Lobster--I was raised on those kinds of vacations. I don't want to go to your typical SB destination--aka, any place with a beach, drunken teens everywhere, and no hotels less than $150/night. Here are the things I'd like: hotel fare for <$120/night (for one week) good public transportation or many things within walking distance decent sights if in the city, or cheap-but-romantic if in the boonies cheap, low-key atmosphere. I'm open to pretty much anywhere, though someplace east of CO is preferred since I'll most likely fly him into NY. Thanks! moreResolved Question: extracurricular activities for the ivy league?

My camera is a Canon Powershot A80. It's a nice camera [or at least was a nice camera]. It is old, about 3 or so years. My aunt owned it before I did and bought it brand new for like $300. She got a new [and better {Olympus}] camera and didn't need it anymore. I was wanting a camera and she said she'd give it to me. I took it on two vacations over the summer. I went to NV for a week and three days or so and the pictures it took were really nice. Even when we were moving in the car at 70mph it took super clear pics. I took about 1400 pics and about 10 or less videos that were about 25 sec. long. Then, I went to South Carolina at the beach and took about 900 or so pics. This is where I started noticing some problems. When we were moving in the car or standing still, every now and then there would be a little and quite a bit blurry pictures. This shocked me because on my other trip it took really clear pics even moving 70 mph. Then, when we got back from my trip I didn't take very many pics. Then I wanted to take a pic of the moon and I was standing still outside and the moon was very blurry to the point where it looked like two moons and I wasn't shaking the camera at all. Later, I tried it to see if it got better, and it wasn't. It was worse. I don't know how to explain the problem but I'll show an example. I go to take a pic. of my house. I look at the focal point and the pic seems nice. I look at the screen and I see green and purple and different things that I'm not taking a pic of. I can't even see my house or the thing I'm taking a pic. of. And, If I take a pic of the comp. screen right now, the focal point is clear, but the screen is pitch black. Then I preview my pic. and there's black and there's some but not many of those weird lines I was talking about. Does anybody know how they'd fix my camera? or is it broken beyond repair? Please Help!! P.S. my camera uses a compact flash memory card and runs on 4 AA batteries. I tried using charged batteries and it still doesn't work. Umm... whenever I wasn't using my camera it was mostly in its case. and my aunt takes good care of her items so I don't think that it's anything to do with poor quality. ThanksUmmm. whoever you are I'm pretty sure my camera isn't fixed so don't know what you're talking about but my camera is definitely not fixed. moreResolved Question: Can you guys check my grammar?
Im an international student and so im not good at writing english.. so I need a help!! It's part of my essay for college application.. can you guys check it and teach me how to make it better essay? When I was a kid, there was a big map of the world on the wall in the living room. From time to time, I told my mom that I would set foot on all those lands when I grow up since the world looked fairly small. Since I was 8 years old, I actually began to travel around the world, and I have gone to over ten countries. In South Korea, where educational fervor is extremely intense, it was not usual to go visit another country for even a few days because everyone got tutoring or went to an academy to increase their grades in classes whenever they had time, even during summer vacation. However, my parents did not want me to just stay in South Korea, where the cramming method of education was used. They did not want me to learn by rote but to go abroad and see the broad world outside to obtain real education. Because of my perspicacious parents, I could study world instead of school work. Their bold decision was very wise and I knew in my heart it was the right decision. I gained eyes that could observe the real world. I realized a difference between the gentle kindness of the British and pure kindness of Cambodians when I began to learn multiplication and division in the school. moreResolved Question: Where should I go on vacation - within 800 km of Toronto, Ontario Canada?
I am planning my vacation for July 2010 and I'm looking for a place to go to with my wife. She likes the beach, I like to get out there and explore on my own (no need for organized group tours). This past summer we went to South Carolina which was great, except it was an 18 hour drive. We're looking for suggestions that are within 800 km of Toronto, Canada that we can drive to. “ Hurry up Katie, we are getting late. Are you in your room?” mom yelled from the kitchen downstairs. “Yes, mom I will be there in a minute” I yelled back from my room, while packing all the stuffs we might need at the beach. “Yes, finally we are going to the beach” I said to myself. Looking forward to this day since the beginning of my Summer vacation. The beach is one of my favorite place to go during the summer. In a rush picking up my bag went downstairs in a hasty that I almost tripped down the stairs . Upon arriving downstairs I could see all my family members were ready and enthusiastic for our day at the beach. We packed up our bags in my dad’s car and headed for the Virginia beach, located in the South Hampton Roads area of Virginia, on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. While, sitting in the car in order to not bore myself took my iPod out of my bag and started listening to some cool songs. Knowing that the trip would take approximately 3-4 hours downloaded some new songs as well. Singing along the beat of “Taking Back My Love” by Enrique Iglesias my brother asked if he could borrow my iPod for his enjoyable purpose. After handing the iPod to him, filled with tiredness decided to look out the car’s window. Through the window I happen to gaze my eyes upon the green forests along the road and promptly fell back asleep. Suddenly, the screeching noise of the car woke me up and finally realized our arrival at the beach. I don’t know how long I had fallen asleep for. When I asked my mom she told me I took an hour long nap. Without the waste of any more time I rushed out of the car quickly taking my belongings and strolled towards the beach with my family. Walking through the sand I could feel the hot sand squishing between my toes. The wind blew softly and tousling my hair away from my face. The smell of sun block, salty sea breeze and plastic floaters woke my mind. The sun was shining in my skin. The feeling of relaxation, serene and comfortableness rushed through me after a long time. Oh wow, I could sit here forever and forget about the rest of the world. Surfers in their suits were enjoying surfing at the same speed as the wave. Everyone looked pleased to be here especially my younger brother. He asked me to come with him so I went with him to play with the waves. At first the waves were small but later they were big and amusing. In a little while, my parents joined us too and we enjoyed ourselves keeping up with the waves. Later, we looked for shells, took few photos ,built sand castles. I love making sand castles. It is one of my favorite thing to do at the beach. I even wrote my name on the sea shore but it was gone in no time as the water washed it away. Guess it is a part of life old memories being replaced by the new ones. By the end of the day, I was extremely tired and starving to death. I had way too much fun that day. Finally, we changed and ate delicious food at this pretty restaurant on our way back. I wanted stay at the hotel by the beach but since my parents were busy with their work we couldn’t do so. “We can come to the beach sometime next month again and stay over there for few days” my dad told me in exciting voice. “ Really dad?” I replied back anxiously. I couldn't believe that I am coming to the beach again. The beauty of the ocean is irreplaceable by any other object of the world.I could live there forever and never get tired staring at the deepest blue ocean. moreResolved Question: What is there to do in San Diego,CA?

My friend's husband-to-be was a divorced man, who had a short marriage with an Asian lady. At the time of their divorcing, the baby was 1 year old. Now the ex-wife went back to Asia and the baby is almost 4 years old. In order to raise the bi-lingual environment for the baby, the divorced couple is on skype or telephone everyday to talk to the baby. More than that, he travels to Asia 9 days every 2-3 months to visit the baby and each time stays at his ex-wife's apartment, although, he claims that they ever don't share the same bedroom. My friend disagrees of his staying at his ex-wifes during the visit though, he argues that the point of staying at ex-wife's place is to save the hotel cost, more importantly, to share the joy of waking up the baby every morning and falling into sleep with the baby every night, which he misses during the daily life. What frustrates my friend the most is that during this summer, one month before their wedding, her husband-to-be accepted the proposal and the reservation arrangement done by his ex-wife of traveling to a South Asian country together to have a one-week vacation for the sake of bringing the family feeling and pleasure for the baby. My friend, as a traditional Chinese, understands as the father, her husband-to-be needs to play a role in raising the kid for his ex-family. However, she finds traveling together with the ex-wife is too intimate and unacceptable, even though he promises that two hotel rooms are booked for the whole trip and not at all any intimacy is involved. The husband-to-be tries to convince my friend that it's very common in western society that the divorced couple would travel together for the sake of bringing the family feeling and pleasure for the baby, even if some day both party of the divorced couple remarried. Is that true? Isn't this improper and lack of respect to my friend? Besides, my friend disagrees he does such travel with ex-wife, but he still insists and blames my friend of not understanding the western culture and making difficulties for his relationship with his baby. Who is right and who is wrong here? If there is no right or wrong, how the travel of this kind would be seen from your eyes - normal, acceptable or the other way around? moreResolved Question: Should I move to Virginia?
My mom told me today that because she's not getting enough jobs at work (she used to get four jobs a week now she's only getting one a week and it's been like that since january) that she's thinking of moving down to virginia where a friend of hers has a position for her that would mean a lot more work. My parents are gettingseparatedd so my dad would stay up here in MA. My mom gave me the choice to go with her to Virginia, or stay in Mass. with my dad. I kind of do want to move to Virginia. It'd be like a whole new beginning and I've always wanted to be ablee to sort of re invent myself. I'd be able to start over which is something I'd really like to do. At the same time I'd really miss my BFFs. I'd probably be able to see them during most of the vacations, including summer (especially since I start driving this December if I'm in Virginia, June if I'm in massachusetts) But I'm still afraid I'd miss them. Also I'm slightly worried about the move from an academic veiw point. Aren't schools from the North East better than those from the south (and I don't mean to insult anyone with that, I'm just asking). A magazine rated my school as second best in MA, would this move affect my chances at getting into a good college? (especially since I had a not-so-great freshmen year) What do you think I should do? Move or don't move? Also do you think I should tell my friends just yet? My mom says, if it does happen, It won't happen for a little less than a year, I think I should wait until school starts (beginning of Sept.) so I can tell them face to face instead of over the phone or facebook chat, but what do you think?I found out where in VA, virginia beach. What are the schools like there? moreResolved Question: How can you stop being sad from a boyfriend you can't see?
For summer vacation, I went to South Korea to visit/explore/study. During this trip, I made two boyfriends ( Not at the same time of course ). But, after a while with the first one he would say comments insulting me or my looks. So, you could tell I stopped seeing him. My current and second boyfriend is really sweet and knew I was going out with Boyfriend #1 (BF1). He noticed the shit BF1 was saying to me. And met me ever since I was home all day because of an eye surgery I had. I started liking him because he was so kind to me and everyone else. I thought he was great and better looking than BF1 :P. Without me saying anything, he got the signs I liked him. And started holding my hand, hugging, standing right by me, and standing up for me. The next week I had to go back to the States, where I am now. I'm so sad because all the time I'm thinking and wishing he was here. I spent the last two days here staring at a photo of him.. Sorry if this is a little disorganized.. So, I'm sad because I can't see him.. I could call him, which I am doing a bit, but talking to him for a while will eff up the phone bill. I'm wondering how to stop being so depressed. Can you help? Thanks. xoxo Ps. I'm not the old. Not even close to eighteen years old, I am thirteen or fourteen in Korea. I know I shouldn't even deal with this stuff yet, and I haven't before this trip, but I am already in it :/Sorry, I meant "I'm not that old".Oh, no I meant I AM 13 in the US, but since you are born with another year in Korea I am 14 there. moreResolved Question: Pt 2 Church Bloopers and Blunders?

In this story I'm writing, one of the characters who is seventeen goes down to South Carolina for the summer with his mom who is divorced. They are originally from Ohio. I need help figuring out the reason for why they came to South Carolina. Not for a vacation. It has to be a good and kind of sad reason. Money is tight for them so he has to get a summer job while they're down there. His character is like a bad boy who smokes and had a rough childhood. I already tried having the reason be because his abusive father is released out of jail and his mom is scared that he will try to get to them, so she rushes them out to South Carolina. However, they have to go back to Ohio at the end of the summer. Don't say, just move them down there. That's not my original point in the story. (Note: He's not the main character). He HAS to go back when summer is over. So that reason I had doesn't really work well. Does anyone have any other ideas? Easy points :D moreResolved Question: Good Family Vacation Destination?

im sorry but this is going to be really long. but i need help really bad. I tried really hard to get this guys attention. Well. I finally did. I have his email and I texted him a lot before I left for summer vacation. Since he became bored, he started texting a friend. Now they are close friends and he tells her everything. When I was in the plane, I got this text that said I love you from him. I was confused until he said that it was for another girl. So I started crying in the second airport. Then before I went to the first airport, he said he was going to miss me. So I was hopeful that he might like me so when he said the text was for another girl, it hit me really hard. I tried to forget about it for a while. T I was talking to that friend, lets called her Bella, on msn and she was bragging about how close they were and stuff. I asked her what they talked about and she said me. From there, I became hopeful again. He was asking her why I kept looking at him, why I was so obsessed with him and stuff like that. She made up stuff. I told Bella about the text and she made me feel really bad so I started crying. Bella found out i was crying and she told the guy i liked. The guy i like, lets call him bobby, was like, omg I feel bad, but she’s pathetic. After that, she texted me and was like btw bobby is worried about you. he got his internet back and got online. He was like are you ok? And I was like yh. Bella sent me her convo with bobby. she was trying to guess who he liked and he was like she’s from your school. So she was like, oh (my name)! He was like" my god!" I don’t know what it means but bella said it was like FUCK NO. after that it all went south. i found out that he likes one of my best friends. i mean i was SO hopeful that he might like me and then DAMN its alll taken away from me. then on another convo, bella asked bobby if he would care if i was dating someone else, all he said was "do u think i care?" damn well that hurt. why did bella even show me all this if she KNEW it was going to hurt me hugh? the worst thing is that the guy is REALLLY hot/cute and stuff. later we were playing truth or dare with a bunch of other people and some1 asked him who he wanted to be his roommate and he said me. then he logged offf. he has being sending mixed signals and he has hurt me a LOT. now bobby doesnt like my best friend anymore. he said it was because he thinks of himself as a playboy. everyone is telling me to ask him out. idk if i should. his best brother told me to ask him out to. i dont noe wat to do. wat do u think??? moreResolved Question: why shouldn't illegal aliens be fined if they do not buy health insurance, but you, a citizen, will be fined?
under obama's proposed health care plan that he insists has to be law by this august (why is he in such a hurry about such a ENORMOUS outlay of our money?), just why is it that if you, an american citizen, do not buy insurance if you do not now have it you will be fined, but illegal aliens will continue to get health care without insurance and without being fined? for details, open this interesting article: http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=333152247619802 this health care reform bill is going to cost you and i a LOT of money. really! it bugs me that mr. obama just HAS to see it on his desk, to sign, this august. (generally, the big bills are passed by congress before their summer paid--by us--relaxation leave). this august is 2 weeks away! our so-called representatives in congress are going on vacation! but mr. obama, the master, the god, wants it ON HIS DESK for signature before they go! really! (when i see that he's been having quite a vacation of sorts lately on our money traveling around the world)... don't you think that a safeguard to protect OUR MONEY from being used to give health care to illegal aliens should be clearly written into the plan before it's voted on? why is it that illegal aliens get free health care but you will be fined if you are without health insurance and you do not buy into the big insurance plan that is scheduled to become law, this august? why should WE, THE PEOPLE, foot the health care bills of illegal aliens? why don't we allot some of our current (deficit and fiat) tax dollars to pay for train rides back to south of the border, to their home towns, BEFORE the proposed bill becomes law, and then build THE FENCE to keep them out of our country FIRST? if you want to come back to edit your response, kindly do. one liners are automatically thumbed down. i do not mind if you and i don't see eye to eye (how i love liberty and freedom of speech), but kindly back up your argument. best answer to be awarded to the most comprehensive and thorough answer, in 7, not 3, days.HATER POLICE: if you read the article, you will not call this question a rant.
